hey, game devs of Tumblr: has anyone worked with a recruiter called Somnus Collective?
They gave me a nibble on social media, I reached out to them, and they seem... ah... very enthusiastic. And I can't find anything about them online, despite them claiming to have some very large clients.
A recruiter is probably my best shot at getting an industry job rn, but are these guys legit or am I about to get scammed?

Prayers and hymns to Hypnos:
Anytime I find one in a book or site about ancient texts, I save it for later use. So here’s what I’ve collected so far.
Orphic Hymn 85 to Hypnos (Greek hymns C3rd B.C. to 2nd A.D.) :
"To Hypnos, Fumigation from Poppies. Hypnos, king of Gods, and men of mortal birth, sovereign of all, sustained by mother earth; for thy dominion is supreme alone, over all extended, and by all things known. 'Tis thine all bodies with benignant mind in other bands than those of brass to bind. Tamer of cares, to weary toil repose, and from whom sacred solace in affliction flows. Thy pleasing gentle chains preserve the soul, and even the dreadful cares of death control; for Thanatos, and Lethe with oblivious stream, mankind thy genuine brothers justly deem. With favouring aspect to my prayer incline, and save thy mystics in their works divine."
Statius, Silvae 5. 4. 1 (Roman poetry C1st A.D.) :
*prayer by an Insomiac
O youthful Somnus, gentlest of the gods, by what crime or error of mine have I deserved that I alone should lack thy bounty? Silent are all the cattle, and the wild beasts and the birds, and the curved mountain summits have the semblance of weary slumber, nor do the raging torrents roar as they were wont; the ruffled waves have sunk to rest, and the sea leans against earth's bosom and is still. Seven times now hath the returning moon beheld my fixed and ailing eyes; so often have the lights of Oeta and Paphos revisited me, so oft hath Tithonia passed by my groans, and pitying sprinkled me with her cool whip. Ah! how may I endure? Not if I had the thousand eyes of sacred Argus, which he kept but in alternate watchfulness, nor even waked in all his frame at once. But now--ah, me!--if some lover through the long hours of night is clasping a girl's entwining arms, and of his own will drives thee from him, come thence, O Somnus! Nor do I bid thee shower all the influence of thy wings upon my eyes--that be the prayer of happier folk!--touch me but with thy wand's extremest tip--'tis enough--or pass over me with lightly hovering step."
By Sophocles in Philoctetes:
''Divine Hypnos, god who knows no pain, Hypnos, stranger to anguish, come in favour to us, come happy, and giving happiness, great King! Keep before his eyes such light as is spread before them now. Come to him, I pray you, come with power to heal!''

The mutants of Krakoa are sent on their mission to investigate who is behind the terrorist attack and they help the survivors of the bombed city. Also, they fend off the Watchdogs who are harassing the mutants and survivors.
The mutants who do things in this comic are...
Storm disperses the biotoxic gas in the air and she helps out in fending off the Watchdogs. She also creates an oxygen-rich bubble environment to enhance Triage's healing powers.
Cyclops and Monet St Croix do most of the fighting in fending off the Watchdogs who are harassing the mutants.
Bishop helps out the survivors as well as fending off the Watchdogs.
Cerebra and Tempo analyze the skull and they found out that the skull belonged to a young mutant who was kidnapped and used as a living weapon by Orchis.
Thunderbird frees the trapped man inside the car, he also knows that the Heritage Foundation might have something to do with the X-Gene used to create the exploding mutant so he informs the CSI team that they were buying native X-Genes.
Iceman creates ice bowls for the dogs to drink water out of. He also uses his ice golems to do CPA stuff in the office, helping the town prepare for upcoming bureaucratic and budgetary battles.
Triage works to heal the critically injured and notes that half the town is sick or infectious due to the "dirty bomb" explosion.
Tag's powers are great for evacuation and he "tags" destroyed cars and buildings to help people escape them, while Karma telepathically guides people out of complexes.
Angel helps out in not only taking the trapped survivors out of the window from the building, he also helps out Cyclops, Monet, Bishop, Jean Grey and Bishop in fending off the Watchdogs.
Jean Grey ends up her telekinesis levitating most of the Watchdogs and after reading their minds realizes they're not part of the false flag operation. They actually believe mutants are responsible for the attack. She gets them out of the way and has them "chasing their own tails." Jean Grey also rebuilds people's homes using their memories as blueprints.
Somnus keeps the wounded but stable victims dreaming comfortably as they rest.
Thumbelina uses her shrinking powers to perform microsurgeries inside the survivors' bodies.
Wicked the Genoshan mutant connects the deceased with their loved ones as grief counseling. Bishop notes that without backups of these people the Phoenix Foundation can't bring them back.
Icarus singing local tunes to lift the hearts of the victims.
Escapade switching places with trapped people as she seems good at escaping.
Crave the random mutant eats the contents of biohazard bags that have been collected, neutralizing them. He also finds them delicious.
Northstar and Aurora light up the night sky.
Sanjar Javeed (Horseman Death from Remender's Uncanny X-Force) boosts the immune systems of the most vulnerable.
Brutha Nature grows air-scrubbing flora all over town.
Alchemist (Sudi Abadi) purifies the contaminated water.
Theia also helps to reassemble the streets, businesses, etc.
Greycrow cooks a massive pot of seafood boil while Madrox fills and passes out bowls.
Eye-Scream the obscure mutant makes ice cream for the children.
Hindsight uses his telemetry to do more investigations.

Whew! What a list!

Fiddauthor Recs
Ya want a Fiddauthor rec list??? You got it. This is just some fiddauthor I have in my bookmarks, in no particular order. I’m not adding warnings, so pay attention to the tags and such. If a fic is a WIP, I’ll let you know. And please DO add your own recs in comments or reblogs, especially if you know of fics that aren’t on AO3!
If you read these fics, please consider leaving kudos and comments for the authors!
We’re Still Here by hellmandraws
Not fic, but a fan comic starting with college fiddauthor and going all the way through post-series. So great and really worth a read!
rumination: a guided tour by gesso (1.9k words)
Author’s summary: For all the words, expressions, languages he knows; for all the intelligence, experience -- sometimes it's just easier to show, rather than tell. And maybe that means using the mindscape to just pull up very specific memories in a certain order. Because Stanford Pines would much rather take the most convoluted route possible, especially if that means he can avoid plainly talking about his emotions (past and present). [Unlike the other drabbles in this series, this is not complete, and cuts off kind of abruptly at the end of the draft I have]
This fic is sooo worth a read. Technically a WIP, but don’t let that dissuade you.
Somnus Idigus by Abyssalzones (2k words)
Author’s summary: It's hard to sleep, still, nearly a full year after Bill's defeat. Ford manages to be coaxed to bed by kind words and gentle hands, and wonders just what he did to deserve this kind of understanding. (AKA: Ford has nightmares, keeps trying to put off sleep, Fiddleford manages to lovingly wrangle him to bed.)
Sooo sweet! The exact kind of post-canon snuggly Fiddauthor fic I need in this world!
Intricate Rituals by HazelnutofFortune (1.5k words)
Author’s summary: “Fiddleford,” Ford says. He hates asking for help.
“Mmm?” Fiddleford asks, looking up, scalpel still raised.
“ Um, could you show me how to get at that big clump next to the Aorta?” How humiliating. Why did he even ask. Except-
“Well, sure,” Fiddleford sets down the heart and takes Ford’s a little gingerly. My heart is in his hands, Ford thinks. Fuck.
Extremely cute! A WIP! College Fiddauthor and Ford is soooo smitten.
Jersey Boy by Fordtato (110k words)
Author’s summary: Ford does not want to be at Backupsmore University. He should be in California, at West Coast Tech, showing the world that he's more than a freakish waste of space from Jersey; showing the world that he's more than the scrawny, brainy half of a dynamic duo. He's angry, sure, and he's sure-as-fuck tired of being just one-of-two-Stans.
But who isn't angry right now? The world is in turmoil, they're sending our boys to Vietnam and if it wasn't for this stupid school, Ford would have probably been sucked into the draft himself.
But then he meets Fiddleford Hadron McGucket, and everything is different now.
A slowburny fic that really digs into the historical side of college Fiddauthor. It doesn’t shrink away from the tougher, uglier stuff that being a poor, gay, Jewish college student in the seventies would mean for someone. Features an angry, confused Ford who is having a Hard Time. Also has a whole host of interesting OCs! Also a WIP. This fic takes a turn or two that I really didn’t expect and I’m very excited to see where it goes, as the author is on record saying that they WILL finish it.
if you love me, come clean by Athgalla (105k words)
Author’s summary: This is pretty much just a collection of various moments and possible events throughout Fiddleford and Stanford's relationship that I felt like exploring, starting with their first proper meeting in college on to post-Weirdmageddon events.
Without further ado, on to the tragically star-crossed nerds!
iylmcc spans Ford and Fidds’s first meeting through post-series. It’s so interesting, and so sweet, and has so many wonderful details! Just a great take on their relationship that you deserve to read, dear reader. Treat yourself!
Maybe It’s Not Too Late by GinAndShatteredDreams (main fic is 82k words, whole series is 110k)
Author’s summary of the main fic: Overall: A post-weirdmageddon asexual Fiddauthor fic in which revelations occur, a confession goes awry, some unfinished business reemerges in the form of a raging pterodactyl, and chaos ensues. (vaguely romantic - hugs/hand holding/cuddling/comfort, no kisses - just adding that so I don't disappoint anyone who's hoping for it - or maybe for the sake of people (like me) who sometimes like to read something without ;))
(Edit - No romantic kisses. There's a forehead kiss between family members at one point.)
*It would probably be good to mention that most of this was written before the journal came out and even after, I tried to keep true to the ideas formed before reading it with one exception that is noted later.
So as you can tell, I linked you the whole series. A both super angsty and very sweet fic with wonderful asexual post-series Fiddauthor! I’ve never read anything quite like it, totally check it out.
Romance is Overrated and Living Confusing by 3HobbitsInATrenchcoat (25k words)
Author’s summary: Stanford and Fiddleford started out as college roommates and over the years grew into something more than friends but just to the side of what others would consider a "normal relationship." But honestly, is it really anyone's business what they are as long as they care deeply for each other?
Scenes from Stanford's life as he tries to figure out where he fits in a world built for romance and traditional family dynamics.
This fic is restricted– you need an AO3 account to read it. Also, it’s part of a series, but the other fic is Stan-centric so it’s not a part of this rec list. Aaaand also it’s a WIP. Okay, with that out of the way, this is another Ace!Fiddauthor fic, which you know I’m all about! This fic is more about college and research-aged Fiddauthor, and it’s as delightfully fraught as you could hope. The author also does a cool thing regarding Fiddleford’s time in Oregon, while still keeping it canon-compliant. My hat is off to them.
To Struggle For Dreams And To Hunger For More by Voidfish (8k words)
Author’s summary: “Am I gay?” Ford reads the quiz out loud, before clicking to begin. To his frustration, most of the questions are simply asking him if he has had sex with men (he hasn’t), if he wants to (he isn’t quite sure), or if he ever will (the jury is still out). Nothing defines attraction, no one clarifies if the burn in his stomach is love or gastrointestinal issues, and nothing leaves him feeling any better on the subject.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stanford Pines has never loved a woman but, he realizes with a painful jolt, he can’t say with certainty he’s never loved a man.
Aaaaaa I love this fic. I love it sooo much. Post-series and Ford is trying to figure out his sexuality and his feelings for Fidds. Plus a scene where he comes out to Stan! Just a delight.
And Shifty Makes Three by Sarelle (13k words)
Author’s summary: Ford Pines and Fiddleford McGucket deal with the ups and downs of relationships and parenthood in 1970s Oregon. A task not much aided by the fact they have to keep secret the true identity of their shapeshifting alien grub son, from friends, family and the Feds.
Based on WDW's Shiftyverse, can be read as a standalone.
I fucking LOVE this fic!! Aaaaa the little details about Ford and Fidds and their relationship! Their alien son!! This fic is so up my alley it’s bonkers.
queer clan in the middle of the woods by toosolidcuuj (series is 23k words)
Author’s summary of the series: *to the tune of "our house" by madness* queer clan in the middle of the woods, queer clan in the middle of the
Canon-divergent AU in which Stan and Ford make up, adopt an alien, and gradually amass an extended queer family.
This is ALSO a Shifty-adopting fic! With Fiddauthor! This one also has Stan, and focuses a lot on Stan and Ford fixing up their fraternal relationship in addition to the Fiddauthory bits. I haven’t reread it in a hot second but I remember it being very fun but also taking Shifty’s trauma quite seriously, which I thought was interesting and cool to read.
(There's a) Half moon rising in southeastern skies by orphan_account (17k words)
Author’s summary: A series of memories, all compiled in convenient cinema-reel format. It’s all here, folks, the good, the bad, the sexy, the emotionally distressing. Next to nothing left out.
Sad that this fic was orphaned– I love it. It’s in second person, and I’m all about that! Fiddleford looking back at his fractured memories post-series and also reconnecting with Ford. Absolutely wonderful characterization. Author, if you’re out there, I love this fic!! I hope you are happy with it in your heart!!
Syncing Phases by toosolidcuuj (5k words)
Author’s summary: Stan has gone his whole life never imagining he had a twin, let alone an android twin who can shoot cannons out his hands, makes money appear out of thin air, and has a close relationship with a werewolf named Fiddleford McGucket. Even more surprisingly, FORD needs Stan's help erasing a world-ending computer virus. But BILL has allies in many places, leaving the Stans uncertain who they can trust.
WIP. This fic is SUCH a fun and interesting concept!! Only child!Stan, Werewolf!Fidds, Robot!Ford??? Yes, please! A totally unique fic that is so fun to read!

You've mentioned that Mors had seen contemporary art of Ardyn. What kind of art was it - frescoes, sculptures? pre- or post his coronation?- and, more importantly, where did he even find it?
The first art Mors finds of Ardyn isn't actually art. But it's an old trading manifesto in the Royal Museum. He first looks at it because he's trying to track another peinting Augura Lucis Caelum restored. But there's also a description of a painting called "The Gift".
It's described as "Bahamut gifting the Crystal to the Chosen King, Prince Somnus and a Messenger in company". So, if not Somnus, who was the Chosen King? This is what sparks the whole thing. Mors's life time obsession.
There's a half destroyed family partrait found in some attic. It shows four people. Two adults and two children. The older boy's only discerning feature is his red hair.
An old fresco was discovered by Augura and hidden in her home in what is now Lestallum. It was found by construction workers. It shows a man reaching down with both hands towards pleading, sick people. His red hair is crowned in sun beams.
There's also that painting of Ardyn getting strung up that's hanging in the waiting hall in front of the throne room, if I remember correctly.
It's stull like that Mors collected over the years. Everything damaged in some way, but things are clear enough to see, that this Chosen King is not Somnus, but someone else.
So, what happened?

Feral!Jason and the underworld crew:
Menoetes hates him. He chases the chickens, bullies the other dogs, bites him all the time and doesn't listen. He can hold his own against Jason and usually manages to wrestle him into submission long enough to kick him out of the designated cattle area and back to Pluto but always comes out of it bruised, bitten and burned.
Pluto thinks he's a dog. He's the only person who doesn't bother treating Jason like a person. Jason doesn't care. Jason will camp out with him in his office, curled into a tight ball at his feet. He will get a little bit to excited at the idea of going on a walk. He will chase and demolish the tennis ball Pluto throws. He will throw his upper body onto Pluto's lap and growl loudly until he's given pets.
Mors likes to use him to corral spirits that refuse to be collected. For Jason, it reminds him of when he was used for quests. Except this time there's no muzzle, no leash. He's given more freedom with the underworld crew and he loves chasing down rogue spirits trying to avoid the afterlife. He has to wear clunky shadowy gloves in order to catch them and he can't really bite or tear at them like he would with his other prizes but Mors always hands him a bone as a reward and will let Jason gnaw on it as long as he wants before they head out to the next soul. He will talk to Jason like a person during these moments - explaining what he knows about the soul's history, or talking about how his siblings annoy him.
Proserpina understands Jason's limits. She's the one who starts teaching him to be more personable. She understands that he never really will be a person, but that he has the capability to learn - just as any creature does. She gives him treats and helps tame his raging force. When he's feeling destructive, she directs him to his own spot in her garden, where he can destroy flowers, rip at the ground, break down trees, and murder the punished who've been revived just for this moment. She finds his wild nature similiar to her own. He, in turn, adores her - although not as much as he adores Pluto. Adoration works differently with him - not quite human, not quite dog-like. But he listens to her, is quick to snarl when someone upsets her. Sometimes she takes him up to her cottage so he can enjoy the sun like he did when he was young.
Cerberus also thinks Jason is a dog. A weirdly shaped dog but a dog. They playfight a lot. He's the only dog that Jason can't bully.
Somnus finds Jason's presence tense. Jason has a lot of difficult thoughts, his mind a whirlwind of trauma and pain and his dreams even more so. Jason does not appreciate his mind being poked out and avoid Somnus, avoids his children and his wife. If he feels they're getting to close to his dreams, he'll wake up, hunt them down, and bite them until someone pulls him off and puts him in the time-out cage.
The Furies like Jason. Sometimes they'll pull him along into the Fields of Punishment and let him loose on unsuspecting souls. Alecto always sneaks him treats while Megaera likes to fistfight with him, which thrills him, being able to go head to head with someone who can finally hold their own against him and isn't just trying to drag him away from the chickens. Tisiphone is actually the one who suggests they start teaching him sign language so he could try to communicate with everyone else. If only to get his needs across - after all not everyone can stare into his living soul and see what he wants. He finds them similiar to him - not quite monsters but not quite people either.
Charon doesn't really interact with Jason much from the other side of the river but he does greet Reyna when she comes down to visit. Sometimes he'll bring Jason over to the lobby area so he doesn't have to cart Reyna across the Styx, and he'll throw him a couple scraps from his plate at dinner but otherwise they don't do much together. For this, Jason tolerates him but would never listen to him.
Mercury likes Jason too. He's adamant that if their father asks, he will have to tell him where Jason is but since Jupiter could care less about Jason and doesn't know that Mercury even knows who Jason is, the likelihood seems low. Like Mors, he talks to Jason like a person, regaling him about his day or what he got up to at his other job. Jason likes to bite him, for no other reason than he looks biteable. Everyone makes jokes about dogs and mailmen that Jason doesn't understand and that annoy Mercury, because fuck your stereotypes. Jason was actually very reticent to trust Mercury in the beginning, choosing to nurse his wounds himself but after a few bandaged arms he began to appreciate him (as much as his battered mind can really allow).

Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Ignis-centric
The fire burned low. With dinner long since finished and the glow of the campsite’s protective barrier casting a soft blue over them, Gladio didn’t bother to feed any more wood into the flames. There was no need - the night was warm and balmy. Noct and Prompto were huddled into each other across from him, shoulders pressed together as they scrolled through something on Noct’s phone. The little screen lit their faces with a light that felt harsh compared to that of the wards. Ignis was finishing up what little cleanup their dinner required. It was peaceful and familiar. Until Gladio broke the silence. “Too bad we had to stop here…”

“Sometimes you’re my advisor, and then other times you’re more like my mother! Why the hell can’t you just be my boyfriend?!” Noctis yelled, angry tears streaming from his eyes. “Because more often than not, I’m far more than just your boyfriend! Noctis, I love you, but my job goes beyond our companionship or relationship! At the end of the day, you knew I would have to not only be your partner, but your advisor still!” Ignis threw back, gritting his teeth as he, too, fought against the tears that burned his eyes. “Can’t you just be my boyfriend for two minutes without being my advisor at the same time? Are you even capable of that?! Six, sometimes I wish those stories my dad read us as kids were real and the fae could just take you away and bring someone else!” Ignis, whose mouth was open to throw back a retort, shut quickly as his jaw set tight. There were wet spots on his glasses to go with the tear tracks that now shone on his face. “Sometimes I wish the same thing, if only to see you happier.”

To Ignis' surprise, Ravus snorted loudly. "Really? Didn't you spend a year on the road after Insomnia's fall?" “Well," Ignis admitted, feeling like the city boy he had been in front of the brazen wildness of Leide all those years ago," we were lucky to have a mechanic helping us.” If Ignis had been asked to pinpoint the moment he had started to understand Ravus, it wouldn't have been when the man had reached Tent City for the first time, a wave of refugees in tow, nor when he had fought along Ignis' side for the first time. It would have been the moment when they had stood together in front of that open trunk. If Ravus was to say when he had first started to fancy Ignis - although never aloud - he would have chosen that moment too.

Stephen Strange fic recommendations
Here's a list of stories about Stephen strange that I enjoyed a lot and wanted to give a little shout out to the authors :3 On this list you will find reader inserts, OC stories and Stories about Stephen and America's adventures. If you like any of these stories let the authors know! It would make them really happy :33
Stephen Strange x Reader
School's in session | @strange-mischief
Summary: You’re the new music teacher and you happen to move into the classroom across from a man who has been deemed as the school's most prickly teacher, Stephen Strange.
My note: It’s one of those stories that you desperately want to be longer. You will finish it and crave more. I love this AU. I reread this plenty of times and I am obsessed with this fic. It was so good and I would never consider writing my own teacher! Stephen AU if I haven’t read this story.
Their Bubble | @lonelinessinthemirrordimension
My note: It’s a fic about Stephen, his partner and their life together. It jumps between flashbacks from the past when both of them were working in the hospital and their current lives in the new york sanctum. America is also there in some scenes. It’s a very fun fic, showing how their relationship progressed over the years.
Paper Hearts | @classickook
Summary: following the events of multiverse of madness, you’ve given up hope that stephen would ever love you back. but what if his feelings for you change… will you give him a chance, or has your heart moved on?
My note: Oh boy, this series has everything. Angst, hurt, comfort, some fluff and found family trope. Did I mention that it’s a slow burn? The things between Stephen and Y/N are really complicated and the tension between them could be cut with a knife.
Come to your senses | @frostandflamesfanfic
My note: This is a story, following the events of Multiverse of Madness and it’s really worth your time. You will be hooked after the first chapter, but I must warn you- the angst in this story hits hard.
Curse Breaker | @celerrie
Summary: You're the Mystic Arts' best and brightest when it comes to breaking ancient curses, and Stephen Strange, Sorcerer Supreme...well, he's the Mystic Arts' best when it comes to everything else. But when a normal day together at New York City's Sanctum Sanctorum is turned on its head by an invitation from Tony Stark himself to attend this year's Stark Industries Gala, you find that you need to clarify what, exactly, you and Stephen are to each other, and not just to the world at large.
My note: This story is quite long, but you will yearn for more. This fics consists of three parts (the last one includes smut). The relationship between the characters is written incredibly well- it’s fun and friendly at first, but as you read on you will literally feel in your bones how they yearn for each other. I am a huge fan of the friends to lovers trope and reading this story felt like opening a birthday gift. If you like to read about friends/roommates who are incredibly in love with each other, but refuse to take the first step so they just silently yearn for the other then this story is for you.
Chaotic Team & Their Master Series | MayoTsukia (AO3)
One-shots and stories collection about The Master and her chaotic team, along with a certain sorcerer supreme and those around them.
My note: The reader being Stephen's right hand was a very nice detail in this fic. This story also contains some OCs who are the absolute best. They are very young students under the reader’s care. They are such amazing characters and they are so well written you will feel like they have always been there. There’s some good hurt/comfort and let’s be honest- who wouldn't want to be comforted by Stephen Strange?
amor somnus | PorcelainStorm (AO3)
Summary: Reader is under a curse. Stephen freaks out. Feelings are felt.
My note: It’s a sleeping beauty au with Stephen who is trying his hardest to break the spell and wake you up, but nothing seems to be working. He almost loses all hope, but don’t worry! It has a happy ending :)
The love hypothesis | @mischiefmanaged71
Summary: Y/N Y/L/N is a PhD student who wants to prove to her best friend that she has moved on and dating. With no way to prove it, she kisses the first man she sees, which ends up being none other than Dr. Strange, known as one of the most unapproachable and critical professors in the university.
My note: As the title says, this story was inspired by the book Love hypothesis. I haven’t read the book before I read this story, but this fic made me want to read it. I loved how the characters interacted with each other. It was fun to read, some parts made me smile like stupid and other parts made me want to punch a wall. This is another story filled with an incredible amount of mutual pining and lots of other feelings. You don’t have to read the book to understand this fic.
Waiting for the night | @strangeprincex
Plot: An incubus makes his way into your apartment and has you in his sights.
My note: Oh dear gods, please take the wheel because I will pass out. Demon Stephen Strange with tattos and piercings. That's all I will tell you. This story is incredibly smutty and I needed to take a shower after reading it. I highly recommend.
Stephen strange x OC
Pretty Poison | @strangeprincex
Summary: The Sorcerer Supreme knows how to help Helle relax after a long week being a hero.
My note: This is a series about Stephen and Helle who are in an established relationship. This fic is really smutty, but it’s also incredibly sweet. You can just feel the love those two have for each other. The author writes about other parts of sex than just smut- the story focuses on trust, love and communication.
If you enjoy stories like this one strangeprincex has more of them on their blog and AO3- but make sure you read the warnings because some of the stories are a bit darker than the others.
The Witch of Hell's Kitchen | @shenanigans-and-imagines
My note: This is a list full of stories about Stephen Strange and an OC- Cassandra jackson. I never expected to be so invested in someone else's OC, but Cassandra is such a great character you will want to see more of her and Stephen. Let’s not forget about Ellie- Cassandra’s child who is also half demon. You will fall in love with their little family as soon as you read one story. I guarantee that.
dad!Stephen Strange and America Chavez
Recently I stumbled across a fic on AO3 about Stephen acting as America’s parental figure and I instantly fell in love with that trope. I read plenty of stories and if I was to list them all this post wouöd be suuuuuper long. So here’s a list of authors who wrote for that trope. (if you want to see more go through the tag “Stephen Strange Acting as America Chavez's Parental Figure” on AO3.

"Home is not place. It is feeling." So said the tiger, watching the camaraderie unfold between us. All but the hare, embraced by a somnus induced slumber. Home. A word as foreign to me as forgiveness. They are an odd collective. Yet somehow, it works. But their differences are minor. Race. Personality. Height. Profession. None among them contends with their very humanity slipping away. If home is a feeling, then mine is a frigid tomb. - Seven

Yet another headcannon, this time for Owl in his prime. The Owl we see in the game is hundreds, if not thousands of years old and he's just a tiny old bird. So I imagine when he was younger he had a form like this, as well as lacking his jacket. Old people get cold easier, so in his old age he obtained his red coat.
In Owl's young age, he was a simple apprentice of the dream entity Somnus, and he was content with his position in the hierarchy. His duty was to log nightmaren activity, and if needed, fight against them. The time of Owl's youth was a uneasy time for Nightopia, as Wizeman was becoming more sneaky and violent. So Somnus made the owls to fight against Wizeman's forces.
Then the conflict between dreams and nightmare exploded into a full blown war that scarred Nightopia, shattering it into many pieces tangling up the loose logic that held the dream world together. Visitors were becoming trapped in the world of dreams, falling into the collective unconscious and becoming lost forever. Something had to be done, so Somnus came up with a plan.
First, Somnus sent half of her owls to the waking world, so that should Wizeman cross the barrier, the power within the owls would awaken and go into battle.
Second, Somnus became one with Nightopia. In order to restore order to the world of dreams, Somnus sacrificed their consciousness and body in order to use their soul to heal the dream world. This is why Wizeman seeks to completely destroy Nightopia, as it'll destroy the soul of his opposite.
Third, the creation of the Nightopians. Despite Somnus being weakened and the owls on the verge of extinction, Somnus used their power to make the Nightopians. They would be the fragments of their soul, while not entirely Somnus, a bit of them lies within each Nightopian, watching over the dream world as Somnus slumbers.
Owl, having witnessed all of this and being on the few remaining members of his kind in the dream world, took an oath to watch over visitors and teach them about the dream world, in hopes of find someone who could put Wizeman back in his place.

This’ll only make sense if you’ve ever been into Harry Potter as well as Percy Jackson, if it makes sense at all, but:
Everybody always talked about if Harry had been raised by McGonagall he would’ve stopped Voldemort in his first year, how he’d have been top of the class along with all the rest of it, etc, and basically how they wanted to see that.
But we’ve got that in Jason. I get we collectively don’t really like Hera, because let’s face it, she kind of sucks. But despite them being the same person, Juno is a totally different person. Mars was way better than Ares, Somnus was way different than Hypnos, and Juno was different snd better than Hera. And Juno is so like McGonagall.
They’re both towering intimidating women in caretaker positions, but the kids around them (specifically Harry/Jason) also have them as a secret sort of motherly figure when push comes to shove. They’re the women that are always there guiding them and teaching them, that they can turn to in a pinch, and when looked at deeper they do kind of see/treat as a mother figure. They’re both reserved and quiet, very intelligent, strict on the outside but got massive soft spots for the kids (McGonagall with basically every student, Juno with the entirety or New Rome as their patron at least) and for their one motherless kid in particular.
Now, obviously I’m taking slight liberties with Jason here because we didn’t get nearly as much Jason/Juno content as we did Harry/McGonagall content. But I at least totally believe everything I’m saying.
There’s that scene in Ravenclaw tower in the last book where the Carrows go after McGonagall and Harry fucks them up for daring to lay a finger on her, and you really get the parental thing there.
Jason did save Juno of course in The Lost Hero, but granted, he was just following orders and not really knowing why. But he still did it, and I put his nonchalance down to amnesia. I am convinced pre-HoO Jason with all his memories would have positively leapt to Juno’s aide the second anyone dared threaten her.
Im not being funny, but Jupiter was AWOL the whole time, they basically even said it in HoO about the Titan War from what little he remembered. It definitely would’ve happened like fighting the giants. Jupiter probably hardly ever, if ever, said a word to him and all the help he got was a lightning bolt from his dad. And you don’t even NEED a god to take down a Titan, so maybe Jupiter didn’t even bother in the first war at all.
Jupiter was the equivalent of the Dursley’s. Actually related by blood and supposed to be responsible for this kid, but did fuck all and didn’t even seem to like him much.
Juno was his patron, effectively a guardian. It would’ve been Juno most likely that gave him counsel if anyone did. Would’ve been Juno expressing even a modicum of pride or approval after the war if anyone did. She was his McGonagall.
She would’ve been way more of a role model, an example for Jason to live up to. Jason basically lived by the Roman motto of the strong protect the weak. Where do you think he got that from? When was the last time Jupiter helped anybody? But Juno was Rome’s patron, she protected the Legion and she cared. He would’ve been more likely to see that in practise and emulate it. He was her champion so he’s make her proud and be New Rome’s first line of defence.
And Jason was smart and accomplished just like everyone’s idea of Harry if he’d been raised by McGonagall. We’ve got it right here in PJO and everybody’s sleeping on it. Rick has got to hurry up with those Roman prequels because I am losing my goddamn mind.

TITLE: Until Darkness Descends
FANDOM: Final Fantasy XV
CHAPTER: 31
MAIN PAIR: Ardyn Izunia x Reader
SEC PAIR: Gladiolus Amicitia x Reader
RATING: Explicit
Well, you wanted a place to rest and you got one. You just didn’t think it would take the form of a smelly forgotten room, but you were grateful nonetheless. A desk sat in the middle of the room, on top of it laid a thick black book. Curiosity pulled you forward and you slid your finger down the coarse brittle surface of the book. It had no title, flipping it over revealed no summary or blurb.
When you opened it you weren’t surprised to find water stained pages. Yellow and brittle, you handled the book with care. The pages were so thin and dry you were certain they would crumble to dust if you pinched the pages too hard.
Most of the passages were also unreadable. Sentences were smudged beyond recognition and others were so faded there was no point in trying to decipher the words. You flew through the pages, searching for even a single word that was readable.
Your efforts brought you to a page in the middle of the book. A full block of text greeted your eyes, each word was crisp and bold against the faded paper. One problem, the words looked foreign. But for some reason the longer you looked at the paragraph, the more you were able to understand it. You couldn’t explain it, you don’t know how to speak or read any other language but your mother tongue, but here you were reading the paragraph as though it was written in Lucian.
It said, ‘O great black star whose might descended upon the world, laying waste upon the cobblestone of man's feeble creations. Whose vengeance defied the will of the heavens to deliver man our judgment.’
The words brought a chill down your spine. You have no idea what the passage is referring to but for some reason it spoke to you, spoke to some deep dark part of yourself that grew weak at the knees and faint at the phrase ‘black star’.
‘O great black star, who detested the wickedness of man and revealed his sins upon his flesh. Whose vengeance knew no mercy, detected no purity of soul. Be it child or thief, not even the white robes of the temple could provide protection from the wrath of the heavens. Although he prays, his pleas go unanswered. Although she weeps, her child's skin blackens. Not even the healing touch of the gods' true people could deliver their souls from damnation. Their only deliverance was in the flames of Somnus, may his reign last forever more.’
Confusion pulled your brows together. What did the passage mean by ‘revealing his sins upon his flesh’? You bit your bottom lip. Perhaps the book is talking about a disease, a plague the author was attributing to holy retribution. That made the most sense, but for some reason you felt like you were off the mark. You reread the passage and took mental notes. So this event took place during the Founding King era, you don’t remember learning about a plague during history class. But if this book was indeed a primary source then it was worth looking up.
Flipping the page brought you to faded passages and empty spaces. You continued to flip through the book until you landed upon a tiny passage. ‘Adagium, wickedness made flesh, the incarnation of scorn, whose very name strikes fear in the hearts of man. Adagium, whose skin rots with the weight of the world's sins, lies waiting in the dark to descend upon the world once more.'
Adagium. The word whispered over your skin. You heard that word before but you couldn’t recall when or why you knew it. Flattening your lips into a thin line, you decided to bring the book with you. It was a collection of faded ancient text but you couldn’t deny the gravity it left you with. It was important to you somehow, maybe the boys could help you understand it better.
Closing the book, you rested for a moment until you felt strong enough to move on. You approached the secret passage and felt the wall for a mechanism that would trigger the wall to slide open. So far all that met your fingers was dirt, sharp pieces of ice, and jagged rocks. You yanked on the torches next, lifted the books from the book shelves, until you found what you were looking for.
The wall rumbled the moment the book you reached for clicked into place. Elated, you crossed the threshold with the black book in your hand and watched as the wall shifted back into place.
You sighed. You weren’t as tired as you were before and most of your wounds have clotted, but you were still alone, still one attack away from the grave, and you had no idea where to start your search for the boys. Dread chased down your spine. What if you never find them? What if you get attacked before you could even reach them. Your stomach dropped like a stone in the water, they could’ve already left the cave.
’        What if they thought you were dead and decided to leave the cave once they found the tomb? You don’t know how much time had passed between the fall and your awakening, it could’ve been hours, or days, or months. The boys are probably not even here anymore. You’re all alone.
A tear escaped and dribbled down your cheek. You had no time to feel sorry for yourself, you were still alone in a dangerous cave and needed to find the closest exit. Summoning a dagger, you began to walk.
Just like before, a million unseen eyes, like arrows, pierced you from every direction. A knot formed in your throat and you struggled to swallow around it. You counted the seconds in your mind, waiting for the ground to turn blue and for a band of monsters to emerge from the dirt.
Instead of daemons, you heard voices. They were distant, unintelligible at first, until the voices gave way to coherent words as they grew closer and closer. “We don’t have time for this! Aera’s out there on her own, we need to find her.” An angry voice yelled. Joy sprouted in your chest, that was your boyfriend. The boys were closeby!
“We feel as anxious to find her as you are, but we must rest. We’ve been searching endlessly for the past 24 hours.” So only a full day had passed. Instead of spending it looking for the tomb, they dedicated it to searching for you. Your eyes glistened with tears and you took off in the direction of their voices.
Your lungs burned from the exertion and the wounds covering you from head to toe prickled as they reopened. You hissed at a particularly sharp painful sensation that ran down your legs, but that wasn’t enough to deter you. The boys were right there, so close! Opening your mouth you shouted, “Gladio!”
A few moments passed before you heard, “Aera!” Renewed vigor surged through your limbs and you propelled forward.
He sounded close. You shouted his name again and he shouted yours, getting closer and closer. Turning the corner, a group of monsters emerged from the earth. Your fast momentum fought against you as you sunk your heels into the ground. You cried out as you fell.
But that was the least of your worries. You couldn’t grab your dagger in time to block the claws that sliced the side of your face. Sharp blistering pain erupted from your injuries, you barely had enough time to react when the second daemon grabbed your leg. Rows upon rows of fangs gleamed menacingly from its mouth as it brought your limb to its face.
Your heart parachuted out of your chest. They were going to eat you. Fear rotted you from the inside out as nausea incinerated your gut. Before those angry looking teeth could graze your skin, an enormous sword sliced clean through the monster. Malodorous green blood spattered across your cheek.
“She’s over here, Noct!” You looked behind Gladiolus to find Prompto and the others running towards the scene. The boys worked in perfect synchrony with each other. Once the last daemon fell, Gladiolus dropped to his knees and pulled you into his embrace.
Powerful arms wrapped around your frame and his heart fluttered against your ear. He kissed the top of your head. “I thought I lost you.” He whispered, “I should’ve seen it coming. Never again. You have my word I won’t let this happen again.”
Gladiolus held you tighter. You thought back on the fall, back to the enormous entity that plunged through the ice and dragged you into the dark. It came out of nowhere, it wasn't anyone's fault. “We had no way of knowing that would happen. It’s not your fault, I’m just glad you’re here.” Your lips found his and fireworks went off in your body. His lips molded perfectly over yours, his desperation and fear was evident in his touch.
Relief was a sweet drug that you found in his embrace. When the two of you parted you were suddenly encased in another set of arms. "Aera!" Your blond friend cried in your ear. "We thought you died, don't ever scare us like that again!" You chuckled at his histerics before wincing from the wound on your cheek.
"Careful Prompto, she's injured." Ignis chided.
"O-oh I'm sorry did I hurt you?" He asked sheepishly, unwinding his arms from around your shoulders.
You gave him a smile you hoped would ease his worries. "I'm fine, this is mostly old blood." You gestured towards your messy tattered clothes.
"So how exactly did you survive?" You turned your head to find the prince towering over you. Gladiolus helped you stand as you mulled over the question.
"To be honest, I don't know. I should be dead." You thought about the mind numbing pain that fileted the skin off your bones the moment you regained consciousness, the bones that protruded from your broken body, and the organs that spilled from your ripped flesh. "I think I was…"
"But obviously you're still here." Gladiolus said.
You turned to him, "that's what I'm trying to understand."
Ignis hummed and rubbed his chin, you could practically see the puzzle pieces falling into place in his head. "Could it have been the gods that have allowed you to survive?"
          "You think so?" Noctis asked.
"It's a possibility, there is no other explanation for how Aera survived such a fall."
"In that case, way to go, Astrals!" Prompto cheered.
Noctis dug into his pocket and tossed a cylindrical object at you. You fumbled before getting a good grip on it. "What's this?"
"A Hi-Potion. I stocked up on some before we got here. Looks like you could use one."
A myriad of emotions slammed into you all at once, you looked down at the potion with equal parts appreciation, anger, and fear. After everything you've done to cement your place by their side you still couldn't measure up to what they needed you to be. You looked down at your blood soaked form, at the dried rivers of crimson that flaked off your body like dead skin. Maybe their assessment was right. Your healing reserves were dried up, and you could barely stand on your own two feet. You weren't indestructible, and no matter how much you wanted your friends to rely on you, they couldn't depend on you during times of danger.
Sensing your changed disposition Ignis added, "Noct thought it best to procure a stockpile in case of emergencies. You have our word they will only be used as a safety net and not as a solution to every problem."
Prompto chimed in, "yeah and besides, they don’t work as good as you do. Look, my wound is barely healed. Not to mention they’re expensive, how much did you spend on these, Noct?"
The man in question sighed. "Half our savings."
"What?! Ugh, looks like we're camping tonight."
"I see no harm in that." Gladiolus said.
"So what do you say, Aera?" You glanced at Ignis before looking back at the potion in your hand. After a moment you cracked the bottle over your form, a shower of green light rained down over your body. The pain from your injuries lessened a bit and some of your wounds clotted but never closed. You took comfort in that. It was true, the hi-potion didn't work as good as your abilities did. It was barely even a band-aid, just a temporary fix before the real help arrived.
There was no way these potions could ever replace you, not after the boys got a taste of what real healing was like, and for free too. "Wow, this thing really sucks." You chuckled. "But I guess it would be good for emergencies, but only emergencies."
        "You got it." Noctis agreed.
        "No arguments here." Prompto said.
Your boyfriend grabbed your hand. "C'mon, we got a tomb to find."

siddles in here. @ ur tags i am first and foremost ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED to learn u are okay w those kinds of things (IN FICTION), im going absolutely feral. i didn't wanna send an ask before i knew u were okay with anything bc let's face it ppl on the internet are MEAN but i'm absolutely thrilled by ur response and going whhehehegegfegg *little gremlin noises.* i already love ur boy so much AND also has anyone told u i literally love ur art. AND ur a traditional artist HUGE props for that i could never.
p.s. pls tell me everything abt ur boy i want to know it all
BITES YOU AND EATS YOU IN THE MOST POSITIVE WAY-
I will answer this in order fhdhsjsk:
Yes! I am very much okay with viewing and perceiving what people ship! I find it fascinating in all honesty and try to understand the different sides of it (but underage stuff is a big no no in my house guys, gals and nonbinary pals).
I *absolutely* understand this point. People on the internet are absolutely awful and cruel sometimes, but I think if we can all learn to be respectful, that would be so neat and the opposite of toxic!
Thank you so so much!! It literally means the world to me when anyone compliments my characters, especially ones I’ve worked hard on thinking out and designing fhshjskd. Don’t you worry, I’ve got big plans in progress for this little boy-
Aaaa thank you!! I always feel like I’m at a bit of a disadvantage in the art world being a fully traditional artist QwQ,, Like, it’s not that I haven’t tried to do digital art, it’s that I don’t have the equipment, finances, or ability that I would need to do it- I love that everyone has their own unique style, though, it’s so fun to see!!
As for a little bit more on mister middle child nonsense, I’ll list some silly trivia about him and his brothers! Who knows what may be relevant ;]
Somnus’ Nightmare has collected little porcelain figurines since they were children, and has always had an affinity for horticulture.
Somnus was (and still is) obsessed with bugs, biology, zoology, and anatomy. He would absolutely freak Dream and Nightmare out by trying to show them the “super cool spider I just found”.
Somnus doesn’t have good magic control or stats. He sometimes wishes he didn’t have it at all, rather than being weak. Because of this, he took up a lot of material arts, such as medicinal practices and potion making.
Somnus is a *serious* insomniac. Like, the hardly sleeps insomnia with night terrors and daydreams attached (realizing the irony in that).
Somnus only started becoming interested in science because he was looking for a way to create and sustain artificial magic. His hope was that by using natural elements, he could find a way to enhance his magic. Heeee has yet to find that solution.
Somnus’ Dream was a very oblivious child. Not in the “dumb blonde” stereotype way, but in the way that if he wasn’t told something, it didn’t happen in his mind. He was, however, very observant.
Each of the brother’s gained something from their mother tree: Dream’s cape from the banner sigil, Nightmare’s powers from the blackened apple, and Somnus’ talisman carved from the wood of a branch that fell in a storm.
I can go on and on and on, I just love talking about my AUs and my boys-

Propaganda for the Lucis Caelum Family
Spoilers for Final Fantasy XV
CW: murder, electrocution, suicide
"Phew boy. There’s a lot to unpack here. Let’s start with our alive kings (at least during chapter one of the game.) Regis and Noctis are father and son and Regis is the current king of the Kingdom of Lucis. Aulea Lucis Caelum is the late mother of Noctis and the wife of Regis. The dysfunctionalness starts here since well we’ve got mommy issues right off the bat. Regis also has daddy issues thanks to Mors and decides to try and give his son a relatively normal life. Leading to Noctis moving out at 15 and effectively falling out of touch with his dad because Regis is dying trying to uphold the wall and finds he has less time for his son than he thought. An unavailable father yippee. Couple that with ye good old childhood trauma and that’s one messed up 20 year old Regis sends off into the world. He then promptly dies a chapter into the game having lied to his son. The next Lucis Caelum we meet is Ardyn Lucis Caelum who in the space of what is presumably a couple of months, helps Noctis escape the wrath of another god, steals his car, stabs Noct’s fiancée Lunafreya, forces Noct’s right hand man to give up his eyesight in order to have the strength to fight him off, tricks Noct again into pushing his best friend of a moving train, manipulates said friend into killing his father/creator and then proceeds to capture and torture him, separates Noctis from his retinue and forces him to traverse the literal corridors of hell alone, while having to rely on the life draining magic ring you get free with king hood instead of weapons since oh yeah. Ardyn took them. He then tries to kill Noct via electrocution only to have his retinue save him in time on PURPOSE. Cause more trauma? They find our good old best friend Prompto who’s a clone. And then the whole gang is forced into fighting a corrupted version of Noct’s nearly-Brother-in-Law who’s begging him to kill him. Forces Noctis to confront him alone only for him to be absorbed into a magical crystal sleep for ten years. What for? Revenge of course. On his brother. Somnus! It doesn’t stop there! Long story short Ardyn was magic and healing while Somnus was a prick and a murderer so naturally he baited Ardyn into fighting him, killed Aera (Ardyn’s fiancée. Seeing a theme yet?) and quite happily killed Ardyn too when the Starscourge he’d been healing people of by absorbing it into his own body turned him into a monster. But naturally he didn’t die and so Somnus stole the throne and imprisoned Ardyn on Angelguard which is basically just a cool ass island. Ardyn and Bahamut have a chat and it’s revealed that Bahamut (who blessed the Lucis Caelums and they literally all look like him.) planned all this. Back to the present. Noctis is hanging out in Bahamut’s crystal dimension where the big man himself tells him that to save the world he has to die. So when Noctis wakes from the crystal ten years later, he knows what he has to do. And so he goes from Angelguard and summons his old friends (boyfriends), who all turned into DILFS. So yeah they go to their ruined hometown, Ardyn is hanging out there with Noctis’ loved ones’ corpses hanging from chains above the throne (lovely decor) and then they have a fight. And Noctis wins. And kills Ardyn.
Now here’s the best bit. To save the world Noctis summons all of his ancestors who are just hanging out in the magic ring (???) and guess what. They STAB HIM! THIRTEEN TIMES!!! HIS DAD IS INCLUDED IN THIS HIS DAD KILLS HIM! Just so that Ardyn can die in the afterlife too? It’s not fun and very painful 0/10 and that’s why they’re dysfunctional they all kind of want to kill eachother? And it’s all thanks to the guy that might as well be their pseudo God ancestor? Yeah fun. Also I gave all their names but collectively it just be the Lucii. The dead ones. That is."

Intro
I finally got around to doing this ^_^
You can call me Zero, M, Somnus, or Cloud.
I'm girlflux, bisexual, and bellusromantic and use any pronouns. I also collect a ton of xeno and KEIN genders.
I probably won't post much if any stuff. It'll be mostly reblogging about things I like (Saiki K, MP100, MCR, etc.)
And that's about it. I hope you have a good day :)

Andi.
A few notes.
Andi is one of the most fun to draw of my assorted characters.
Her personality is comparable to Lisa (Angelina Jolie) from Girl, Interrupted.
She’s sarcastic, a bit caustic, deals with massive trust issues, and conceals a lot of worries about abandonment. Though she can be a touch irritating, her easygoing nature often leans in to very soft and affectionate behavior, and she tends to be extremely protective of those in her life. Andi would put herself in harms way for any of the friends and family members she’s found and been accepted in, and has suffered extreme injuries in the past keeping Claire safe, from both hateful human assailants and things stranger and more mysterious.
She’s an aspiring music journalist, and her social circle is conductive to that, given that half the people around her are in bands, run clubs, do music promo, or make things for musicians. Andi also has skills in zine making, promo, indie publishing, etc.
Andi has a mixed personal style, fusing late 70′s vibes with an early 90′s grunge girl via Hedi Slimane’s Surf Sound collection. Her prized “Sweet Dreams” jacket is one of her most worn pieces.
She and Claire share somewhat similar mental health diagnoses, and find a good deal of support in each other via their various coping mechanisms. The two have had a romantic spark between them, but it’s been on and off, and somewhat ambiguous.
Somnus is a comic/universe that plays with horror tropes. To that end, Andi is a slasher girl, but inverted and subverted.
Despite being a slasher-style killer, Andi is largely benevolent, and only goes after terrible people, often at the behest of L.A.’s vampire community, making her a kind of assassin for them, sent to deal with matters they can’t handle for some reason. Particularly things that require an element of stealth and infiltration, which she excels at.
(In RPG terms, Andi’s role is analogous to a dark knight in Final Fantasy, with her use of supernaturally enhanced gear giving her traits similar to the Mystic Knight of FF5).
Like most slashers, she uses short ranged bladed melee weapons. A machete, large knife, and medium to large axe are her preferred weapons. She later becomes capable with various supernaturally and magi-technologically enhanced weapons.
Andi is not, herself, outwardly supernatural, unlike many of her friends/polycule/family. She is, however, unnaturally proficient, often able to take on creatures that would kill or freeze a person in sheer psychic terror. This suggests she may have some sort of passive magic or supernatural element which works on less obvious levels.
