"I still..." Bruce huffed as he lay on the floor, glaring at his partner. "Don't get... why you're still so surprised... every time we do this."

Clark, the absolute puppy dog, was still beaming after launching yet another random tickle attack on Bruce. Since first discovering the Batman's hilarious (and quite frankly adorable) little weakness, it was like crack for Clark. Any time he had the opportunity, he launched himself at Bruce and just started squeezing. And, because Bruce was just that damn ticklish, the poor superhero couldn't last ten seconds before crumbling into a flood of chuckles.

"I don't know." Clark grinned. "You don't seem like the ticklish type, is all. Never have."

Bruce rolled his eyes, before starting to stand up. "I am not the ticklish type."

"Uh, oh yes you are!" Clark laughed, reaching to grab Bruce's arm. "And where do you think you're going?"

Normally, Bruce's response to this would be a swift bat (hehe) at Clark's hand to push it away from him as he stood, and an even swifter escape before Clark decided to go for round 2 (it had happened before, and Bruce swore he would've passed out if Clark hadn't taken pity on him).

But this time, whatever way Clark grabbed Bruce's arm, sent electric shivers coursing down Bruce's side. Bruce let out a yelp, and half-collapsed onto one knee.

Clark gasped, his face like a kid on Christmas morning. "No way."

"Clark." Bruce's eye's widened as he pieced together what had just happened. "That wasn't-"

"Wasn't what?" Clark interjected, pulling Bruce closer to him using the aforementioned grabbed bicep.

The tugging motion pressed Clark's fingers right into Bruce's muscle again, forcing a symphony of strange noises, squeaks, and choked laughs out of the absolutely screwed superhero. As Bruce fell, Clark expertly manoeuvered him onto his back (for the second time that day) so that Clark could kneel on his forearms.

"What the hell Kent?" Bruce grunted, pulling his tough-guy facade over his currently anxious and flustered self. "Let me go."

Clark chuckled. "Oh no, we're investigating this."

Bruce cursed under his breath. He remembered Clark's methodical tickle monster days all too well. When Superman himself had him pinned to the floor with no hope of escape, and took his sweet ass time tracing and prodding with various numbers of fingers on any tickle spot that came to mind.

This time would be no different. Clark began with his thumbs, massaging small circles into the very center of Bruce's muscle.

And holy fuck did it tickle.

Bruce's entire torso tried to lift itself off the floor for a moment, his eyes wide in shock at just how bad it was, before his body slammed back onto the floor and flailed. His legs kicked a ticklish drum beat as the highest pitched giggle either man had ever heard escaped his lips.

"Wow you're ticklish here!" Clark laughed over the noise. "I can't believe this is even possible!"

"SHUTUP!" Bruce shouted between bouts of hysterics, twisting his hips from side to side to alleviate the torturous sensations.

"Seriously though," Clark continued as if nothing was even happening. "Ticklish biceps? You've got to be kidding me."

"CLARK!"

Superman nodded to himself, resting his hands on his thighs. "You're right, you're right, it's time to move on to something else."

Bruce gulped in mouthfuls of air before registering what Clark was implying. "No-... wait-..."

Ten feather-light fingernails touched down right above Bruce's armpit and paused for a moment, soaking in the anticipation. Clark didn't have a chance to start moving before Bruce broke into deep streams of laughter.

"Really, Batman?" Clark taunted. "Breaking that easily?"

"Fuhuhuck ohoff."

Superman rolled his eyes, before trailing down Bruce's biceps from elbow to underarm. That singular smooth movement upped Bruce's laughter by a few pitches, a good sign for what was to come.

Clark lifted his hands and reset them back to their starting position on Bruce's arm, before letting his fingers begin their descent once more.

Except this time, each finger took its turn to softly trace up a few inches before lifting and straightening again while his wrist moved further to Bruce's elbow. Like two gliding spiders, Clark's hands pulled downright squeals from Bruce.

"NOHO!" The Batman pleaded. "I CAHAN'T- CAHAN'T TAKE IHIT!"

Smirking, Clark tutted. "Oh come on, you're usually so tough!"

But, now that he thought about it, Bruce was rather red by this point (and not just from sheer embarrassment). And while it certainly was fun tormenting the usually far too stoic superhero, the fun could wait for another day.

Clark wasn't forgetting about this any time soon.

Idk if it's just me but for some reason I can only see yuta's kinktober if I click on the masterlist like I can't see the fic on your profile

don’t worry, it’s not just your tumblr being weird. for some reason, the yeonjun and the yuta kinktober fics both got flagged for needing a “mature community label” (why those over the other kinktober fics, and literally all the other smut fics i’ve already posted, i have no idea, maybe algorithm stuff)

if a post has a mature community label, the average tumblr account cannot see it unless they click a direct link (like the kinktober masterlist) or manually change their settings to allow it. this is a terrible feature that’s causing a lot of shit for smut writers but hellsite gonna hellsite.

if you’re on mobile, here’s a quick guide on how to change these settings:

you’ve got the option to either keep the post blurred (so it still shows up and you know it exists, but you’d prefer it blurred if you don’t want it in your face) or just show it, which is basically how it used to be before they introduced these features.

off the top of my head, i’m not sure how desktop users can do this but i’m sure a quick google should bring up instructions 😊

Also; I'm on mobile, and this is going to get long, and i cant link any suppirting posts that explain my perspectives better than i can, lol. If you want, i'll dm the metas. I hope I get the keep reading thing right, but if it doesn't work... sorry. Summary:

Tl:dr; I could see reynalia working, maybe, but I'd need to read some to get a proper feel for it. It might be one of those cases where I prefer it in polyamorous form, aka reynaliabeth. Reynabethalia. Or maybe when put alongside pipabeth (idk piper/annabeth...) Idk. As for ronance, just not my cup of tea for a variety of reasons. I prefer robin crossover ships, like my tiny little dingy of tarabin. (Tara Maclay/Robin Bucley).

Reyna/Thaila (reynalia??) Is not something I've ever considered, to be honest. I'm not sure how compatible they'd be, but I do ship annabeth/thalia (I should really look up pjo ship names, huh) and I've even given thalia/percy a go, because I'm firmly in the camp that you should give most ships a chance before you write them off completely (as it stands, the most controversial pjo ship I've ever read would either be luke/percy or nico/Sadie - that was written before he was confirmed as gay, though, so it's a grey area, like pre-confirmation romantic stobin fics, or willow/oz content, though differently so for the latter*).

Given all the above, I can't say I don't ship it, but I can say I'm not sure. I think given I like thaliabeth (??) and reynabeth, it wouldn't be a stretch to ship reynalia, though!

(*willow is controversial because of a clash between people who interpret her being called a lwsbian as biphobic vs people thinking calling her bisexual as lesbiphobic, its a whole deal I don't want to her into rn but... eeh, I guess I should state that I'm in the camp that her being bisexual is the most logical reading of canon, her status as a lesbian is a self-identifier because she swore off dating men, not because she isn't attracted to them - she cheated on Oz with Xander for purely lust related reasons, her whole thing with the will be done spell, and her actions with Amy when she goes off the rails (magically forcing men to dance half naked In cages in the bronze, along with other questionable acts) is... uh, not particularly lesbian behaviour, generally speaking; imo, Willow uses being gay as a mask for her insecurities same as she does her witchy power and her choice of fashion - to distance herself from the 'pathetic' girl she used to be. Its a whole psychological thing tied up in era-typical bigotry, unfortunately. It was the 90s. She wasn't going to be addressed as bi, even though she so clearly was. There's a reason I really like 2000s doctor who - it was the first positive representation of a bisexual I'd seen on screen, and being bisexual is clearly going to affect my opinion, here. Like. Duh. Same with lesbians who interpret her as lesbian. I don't think we should be arguing- at the end of the day, we all technically want the same thing; personal representation of our own lived experiences, and that's not a bad thing. Theres a good video on youtube about the controversy, which. Theres always a good video on youtube, lol.)

Um. Oops, rambling. Anyway.

So, ronance. Oh boy.

I see Nancy as straight. I'm also not fond of how she treats Robin in the little time we see them together. Im also not a fan of robin dating the ex that broke her bestie's heart. So, ergo, I don't ship them. I'm genuinely, as much as it probably doesn't seem that way, more of a fan of friendship, at the end of the day. I would see it as a betrayal (same way I see scolia and stydia as a betrayal). I tend to use romantic/sexual relations as a way to explore character because that's easiest to get my points across, but I prefer friendship. Romance is, at the end of the day, conditional. Friends can be friends still after three years of no contact, but that's a signal for the end of a romance. So what I'm getting at here - you can be tentative friends with someone the way robin and Nancy act (as is their canon dynamic), but I wouldn't be conformable with them dating. Nancy barely tolerates Robin. She displays annoyance at pretty much everything she does, from rambling to venting to expositing her mental state, Nancy's countenance just screamed 'I'm waiting for this to stop'. I don't like that in friendship, and I like it much less in romance. Even with my most controversial ships, there's still a kind of passion. Hate is not the opposite of love - it's apathy. Nancy seems often apathetic to Robin's mental state, her worries and concerns. She dismisses a lot of what robin says and does, at least from my perspective watching them. And it must be said - and I'll freely admit - I'm not Nancy's biggest fan, but I love Robin, she's my girl. That's going to cause some problems. Even with ships that are objectively questionable, I have to like both characters for me to get behind it, or I have to like both characters when in the context of the ship. This makes little sense, so I'll extrapolate.

In the Vampire Diaries, I don't really like Stefan Salvatore, and unpopular opinion time, I hate Klaus. I really, really hate him. At this point, it's straight-up loathing. But I greatly enjoyed their dynamics, from 20s to modern day, and that they shared an ex was funny to me (same way it is with Zutara, and making jetko kinda-canon for that reason alone half the time, akfjqlfjwk) as well as being an interesting thing to happen. (I mean, what are the odds, really?). So there's that. I also liked stefan and Katherine's whole weird deal, which played an aspect. What I'm trying to say, I guess, is that there's a certain respect even in my most dubious ships (jetko, steo, fuffy, spuffy, etc) that I feel is completely lacking in ronance. There's a video by Jill Bearup about enemies to lovers ships that might give a good reason to one aspect of why I like it - they take each other seriously. There's an understanding of competence, an acknowledgement of thought processes, a certain level of understanding. Nancy has none of that for Robin.

When I compare the two ships of the 'fruity four', as people have taken to calling them, steddie and ronance strike me as two very different kinds of ships. And I only half get steddie (very not fond of popular portrayal) - there's no real chance for me to get ronance. It is what it is, I suppose. People like what they're going to like. If you want me to extrapolate on any of this, I'd be happy to! My thoughts are oft all over the place and need a bit of direction to make sense, though, fair warning. I think about a lot of stuff and only rarely coherently akdhlwkfkq but I think there is a throughline. At the end of the day, mutual respect is mandatory for me, in romantix relationships especially, but not only for that. If I can't really get behind ronance platonically, there's no hope for romantically. And for the record, as stated above, I did give it a shot. Read the most popular fics and then a couple of the most recent, as I always do. They didn't agree with me, and they left me feeling distinctly... well, not so distinctly because I can't find the right word, but I couldn't help feeling the way I do about the popular portrayal of Hermione is happening to nancy? She's perfect and flawless and a girl boss and has never made a mistake ever and I just.... eeh. Also the treatment of Robin is... not always great. But that's a whole 'nother topic I've already rambled long enough, I don't need to add that.

Basically, tl:dr; ronance is kind of disquieting, probably because I'm not fond of their characterisations within ronance fics, and I'm often affected by the fanon regarding a ship. I never liked Sterek, for example, but I could've tolerated it if a) it wasn't so prevalent in fandom that it appears often untagged like an accepted part of canon when it is not and b) if it didn't so wildly misinterpret the characters, plus didn't include a character that doesn't sit right with me (Derek - Nancy) and a character I love but portrayed in a way that doesn't even remotely align with my interpretation of them 95% of the time (Stiles - Robin).

Er. Yeah. Oof.

can i just ask for some general info about logans library? how does it affect the sides? does it affect them in any way? is it like, safe for logan to spend a lot of time there?

I'm starting w this ask because I'm in the car for a few more hours and I don't wanna type the other ones out on mobile haha

I had a ton of ideas for Logan's library as I was getting further into Low Battery, but definitely not at the beginning, so the fun world building couldn't be incorporated because it wasn't exactly foreshadowed super great. In my defense, it was my very first time writing a multi chaptered anything. I'm honestly very extremely surprised that Low Battery turned out as good as it did lmao. How on earth did that fix turn out at all cohesive idk.

The library was thrown in as filler in the second chapter until I randomly remembered it while outlining like 6 chapters later and decided to make it the focal point of the fic. It resulted in a scene I am genuinely so proud of, and it opened the fic up to so many good scenes and topics. All because I threw it in willy nilly.

Anyway

Patton's room in canon is an extension of himself, his nostalgic and familial orientations, but it kinda works against him a bit. It's a powerful part of him, but also a foe. He mentions how it's hard to leave sometimes, and it takes the others waiting outside to motivate him enough to leave.

Logan's library is a bit like that. It's an extension of him, but not strictly a tool at his disposal, much like Patton's is in canon.

The library I call a memory library because I did not know what else I was gonna call it, even when it felt slightly off, because it's not a completely accurate name. The library houses the facts, rules, and understandings that Thomas has ammased over the years. The books are the exact memories when Thomas understand/discovered how a piece of the world works, but not just memories in general. Patton and Logan kinda share that stuff.

(but if I say that, then I can divide memory retention across all the sides, which I didn't consider until now. Virgil could house survival instinct, embarrassing moments, the things that keep you up at night, and the little fears and horrors from even childhood. Roman and Remus would have creative inspiration. Janus could keep scores and potential information for getting ahead. But then the whole concept becomes very abstract and bleeds into each other, which I don't hate. It would just have to be a looser concept that's spread and shared around the entire mind, which could be really cool either visually or even just internally and ... What was I talking about? I'm getting extremely distracted. Sorry. These always turn out so long whoops. Sorry Shadow, you can't ask me one question without receiving entire essays apparently)

The shelves house the books that hold every fact or rule that Thomas has aquired. Logan is kind of infused with all of that information. He doesn't necessarily need to enter the library to access the information, it's inside of him, he just has to sorta reach around for it or try and recall. He's probably got it linked to a computer or something I don't know haha

In the same way that Patton's occasionally dangerous use of nostalgia as a coping mechanism, Logan's library preys on curiosity, escapism, and the need for control.

The library temps with answers and understanding that will make the world make sense, offering a false sense of control and familiar facts. Or, simple curiosity. Logan suffers on both fronts within the library, and it frightens him.

The actual books are pretty simple. The book isn't always labeled, but you'll know. It contains the moment Tommy learned something. In Low Battery, Logan opens the book when Thomas begins to learn how paint, dyes, and flowers work. It would be the beginning of a series of books on the topic, so as Thomas learned more over the years, more books on the subject formed. Logan chose that one because he missed when Thomas was babey, so he chose the oldest one in the series.

It's not overly safe to stay in Logan's library for very long, as they discuss in the fic. Less because of the effect of Logan's library, much like the main canon rooms, but because it's hard to resist long enough to escape. The library desires for you to learn more and stay, so while certainly never quite impossible, it's very hard to get out. And even harder to ignore the call.

The affect of the library doesn't grow stronger when you spend more time there, it's your own will that gets worn down from resisting.

Janus can't get in very well easily because of the way he manipulates the walls everywhere else, which the library doesn't love. Though he certainly struggle with the temptation of strategy and understanding the truth of old memories.

Roman was wary going in because he's easily swayed by enchanting memory, but he's more nostalgic and fantastical than purely curious.

Patton already struggles with nostalgia, and though different, the library is a counterpart that can loop him in.

Virgil I think struggles with escaping and is terrified of being so disoriented and lost in such a dangerous place.

firstly . despite what you may think, what you just said in the first ask proves my point on how this is problematic. “i didn’t go check on your blog because i didn’t care to”. really??? again you really should word things better bc wym because you don’t CARE to? you sure cared enough if you pressed that little heart icon on the bottom right corner of the post. and it certainly seems like you cared enough to take it upon yourself and come here to say all of this when technically you didn’t have to. you must have been drawn to my writing to some extent <3

HAHSHSHAJJAAJJAJAJAJJAJAJAJAKAKAKKAKSKSS laughing SO hard bc once again you are still proving my point earlier when i said clearly you didn’t read any of the warnings on TOP of the post ?? idek which fic you’re referring to but im going to assume it’s my aki fic since that’s the one you interacted with. it CLEARLY states in the beginning that the reader was going to be thick coded which MEANS that im going to use descriptors such as the ones you stated (idek if i actually stated them) but the bottom line is that the reader is thick in my head when i wrote that fic and this brings me back to my main point: anyone is welcome to read my fics but when i state things like oh the reader is black and/or thick coded you do NOT have to imagine them like that bc they’re “ x reader” fics, where you can insert whatever image you want . but i digress. what other authors do regarding not explicitly ‘warning’ the audience of the reader’s body type but still adding specifics anyway has nothing to do with me. especially when i said that ill make sure it’s stated in the beginning of each fic. and the way you worded that does make it seem like the saturation of thick coded readers bothers you, at least a little bit. but thats just how it sounded to me

Also, confession time, I was also a CHRONIC ghost reader that would just like (mostly cause I didn’t know that reblogs actually mattered as much as likes-) but I have seen so so many amazing blogs disappear or go inactive due to the lack of reblogs, likes, feedback, or basically ANY interaction :( I’ve changed my ways now even though I’m still not sure if I’m doing my reblogs properly but I guess I didn’t realize how much feedback or reblogs actually matter to people until I saw how my OWN motivation improved when I receive feedback or praise. Especially when I’m struggling with my mental health, someone telling me that I did something right makes me feel SOOOOO much happier than a singular like does. So now I prefer sending anon asks to authors just so I can communicate how much I appreciate their work cause honestly if I was a writer then I’d love to hear what people would have to say abt my fics, no matter if the feedback is negative (as long as it’s constructive and not mean-) or positive, it’s still better than nothing. “Xiao, how about today? Are you free today?” You’ve been asking him if he’d wanted to take a nice relaxing walk with you for a while now. You think that he’s been working too hard and needed more breaks.

“...Not today,” he doesn’t even look at you when he’s saying this. His eyes are glued to the archway leading into Wangshu Inn.

You know who he’s waiting for and lo and behold, Lumine comes strolling in, just passing the archway and Xiao straightens up. 

You really don’t have anything against Lumine but you also can’t help the slight jealous streak bubbling up from the pits of your stomach

“...Okay. Be careful then,” you don’t say much other than that, not expecting a lot but, as if sensing your unease he turns to you, thoughtful gaze on his face. You stare back at him and tilt your head in slight wonder.

He lifts his hand to barely graze your cheek, the tips of his fingers tickling it. “I’ll be back,” and the next moment with a slight whistle of the wind, he’s gone. When you look down at the archway of Wangshu Inn, he’s standing next to Lumine already.

You take a moment to watch the scene and turn away to go back to Liyue, a heavy feeling in your chest. 

For the next few days you get busy with some paperwork for your job. You hadn’t passed by the inn in a few days. “...Not that Xiao’s free, anyway,” you tell yourself and keep at it during work. You get frequent headaches at work when you stress out too much and so you do make it a point to try and de-stress once in a while or take short breaks.

“He must like Lumine a lot... or something...” You think to yourself one day while looking out your window and up at the moon. “...Or he just... doesn’t care about me anymore...” You blink as a picture of Lumine flashes in your mind’s eyes. “...She is kinda pretty... and strong... and capable...”

You feel yourself getting slightly depressed so you stop thinking about it and go on with your daily tasks.

After a week has passed you were busy at work when there’s suddenly a commotion at the front desk. “Uh, Y/N, there’s someone looking for you...” your co-worker says, pointing at the entrance of the shop, a perturbed look on her face. 

You wonder who it could be and stroll up over there and to your surprise Xiao is glaring at you like you’d done something wrong, arms crossed and everything. “Where were you?! You didn’t come for a week!” Your other co-workers loitering around glance at you and him.

You blink, shocked at his outburst, “Oh, I... was busy,” Xiao seems to let out a long sigh and turns around, “Come walk with me for a bit,” he demands and you get slightly annoyed that he can just stroll in there and demand what he wants and yet you can’t even get a moment with him when YOU want to.

“I’m not on break, so no,” you hold your ground and step back, he twirls around, his turn to be shocked at your refusal. You never refused to spend time with him. He keeps quiet but searches your gaze. “Alright I’ll wait till you’re done then,” he’s about to walk away but you’ve just about had it.

“You don’t have to do anything for me... You’re better off spending time with Lumine, I’m not that interesting,” You say before you could think about it. Your co-workers are watching the scene unfold but before Xiao can say anything you’ve turned around and disappeared into the back of the shop.

Xiao is even more shocked, you were always good-natured and he’s left standing there in the middle of the shop slowly realizing that he might have fucked up somewhere. He gives your co-workers a dirty glare though before stalking off and waiting outside your workplace for the rest of the day.

“Oh... You’re still here,” You were secretly hoping he still was but you were also extremely tired and could feel the dull pain of a headache starting. 

Xiao is silent again but gives you a once over. Then he fumbles with something in his pocket and hands you a vial with some liquid in it. You blink down at it but receive it, turning the small glass around in your hands.

He finally offers an explanation, turning his gaze away from you. “...The traveller said there’s a flower up on the mountains that helps with headaches...” he gives a slight pause here. “It was a little difficult to gather so it took a few days but... we got enough and turned it into an ointment,”

You’re taken aback. So... all those times were actually...“You... For me?” You look up at him, clutching the vial carefully, getting teary eyed at the emotional roller coaster of a week you’ve had.

He senses your distress and turns his eyes towards you once again and just gives a small nod. You suddenly feel guilty and let a few tears fall, not exactly crying but just on the edge of it. “I’m sorry Xiao, I thought--”

“Idiot,” he grabs your arm and pulls you closer to wipe away your tears. You manage to breathe out a small chuckle as he does so. He already knows what you were worried and upset about. “....I’d never replace you,” 

It was so soft that you might have missed it if you didn’t listen carefully, but you heard it and a smile forms on your face, you lean in to kiss him on the cheek “Thank you Xiao!”

A slight pink forms on his cheeks, there wasn’t a lot of people this late at night but it still got him shy. “Wh-Whatever, just try it out and let me know,” he crosses his arms again and starts walking away but you follow him happily.

“I’ll try it out now, can we take a quick stroll right after?” You ask, falling in step next to him. This time, he agrees. And although he acts tough and everything through the night stroll, you’ll suddenly notice that you’ve been holding hands by the end of it.

“Don’t disappear like that again, even if you do I’ll come looking for you,”

AND THIS ONE IS SO GOOD! i haven't read it in forever since my start here so i can't describe all the deets but! I like it :). It has my og fav there and the perfect melancholy kind of vibe beal/john gives off.

A little TLC : madina / madina fics overall. Madina was probably one of my first fav fic authors for the fandom.
