Hello,
Is Reader-Insert fic welcome in the event, if the focus of the fic is the romantic or platonic relationship between Reader and Sam, and Sam is framed in a positive light in the fic?
Thank you for organizing a fandom event!
Hi! Sorry it took a bit of time for us to get back to you. Yes, you can write a Reader-Insert fic. As long as it's Sam-centric, meaning that Sam Wilson has to be the main focus (he is the birthday boy after all), then your fic should be good.
We outline this in more detail in our rules and guidelines, but mainly these are a few bad practices we ask our writers to avoid:
For Sam
Avoid framing Sam ONLY as a caretaker or emotional support for Bucky, Steve or any other love interest.
Be mindful of Sam acting angry or aggressive in an out-of-character way and falling into the angry/sassy Black man trope.
Avoid decentering Sam as a main character and refrain from focusing entirely on his love interests / the other characters.
General disclaimer: Race affects every aspect of Sam's life, including interacting with police/government and the white structures of the world when it comes to performing his duties as Cap and simply being a Black man that lives in the U.S, so be mindful of that in your writing.
Specific Tags:
Avoid using AO3 tags like “Sam Wilson is a Gift”, “Sam Wilson is a Saint”, “Sam Wilson is a good bro” or “Bucky/Steve Needs a Hug”.
So in general, we ask that you write Sam in a respectful and loving way, and not just as a trope or a plot device in someone else's story.
Don't hesitate to reach out again if you have further questions. We look forward to seeing your awesome creations! ☆

your take about puritanism reeks of 'proshipper,' just though id let you know. you dont have to be a puritan to call something like idk captive prince for example (which contains child molestation and a child sex slave) problematic. do you rlly not see how that could be? your take is so clearly christian-centric and wouldn't exist in other cultures as much as you probably think it would.
This is exactly the kind of black and white thinking this post warns about; angry lashing out without properly comprehending what was posted.
In what way did I automatically absolve every single book ever of all guilt in that post? I didn’t. In no way did I say “no book is problematic ever.”
Not to mention that the whole point of the post was that a lot of people are hiding Christian ideals (i.e. puritanism. Puritanism is a religion in the U.S. if you didn’t know, not just some random buzzword) behind social justice, and are using it to condemn things such as early lgbt+ representation. It is a U.S. issue that I was talking about, so I’m sorry that you need that stated explicitly.
I don’t know what a proshipper is, and I’ve never read the Cruel Prince, but your lack of reading comprehension and your willingness to take the time out of your day to yell at strangers is scary. How old are you anyway? Adults don’t act like this, and if you’re not an adult, you shouldn’t be sending messages to adults you don’t know on the Internet.
Wishing you the best.

- DNI if ur under 16 (i am an adult, i will post suggestive jokes or ship content sometimes and ships on a more aro psychocompetitive field than fluffy healthiness, toxic yaoi etc etc. pls stay safe no matter ur age)
- DNI if you're an explicit account. I don't want my followers finding ur stuff thru following me
- DNI if u ship ctechno, esp with sexualizing him. it makes me uncomfortable since the cc also made it super clear how uncomfortable he was with shipping his character in general
- ABSOLUTELY DNI if you know that I wouldn't want to deal with ur problematic ass. I shouldn't even have to list what that entails. If you know, you know. Get out of here.

WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT/FEDERATION MAGAZINE: OCTOBER 2011
SMACKDOWN Q+A
The LOCKSMITH
Daniel Bryan submits to our most probing questions, and reveals the secrets to surviving a detached retina, escaping deportation and starting a catchy crowd chant.
BY JOHN MIHALY PHOTOGRAPHY BY MARIUS BUGGE
Your submission maneuver rarely fails to make foes tap out. Think it might be time to re-name your version of the LeBell Lock to something a little more Daniel Bryan-centric?
No. I like referring to people who’ve built this industry. There’s not enough of the history out there anymore. It’s like all of that’s been pulled back. So I hope to continue calling it the LeBell Lock. That said, I am a submissions expert, and I certainly have more than one submission maneuver in my arsenal. You’ll be seeing more of them very soon.
Compared to the ups and downs of 2010, this year has been a huge success for you, culminating with your Money In The Bank win. Did your first year in WWE teach you anything that the Indies never could?
Just that you have to adapt to every environment you’re in..but I’ve been doing that my whole career. I never expected to be fired and then rehired two months later. I certainly didn't expect to become the U.S. Champion so quickly after I was rehired. Wrestling here is no different from wrestling in Japan for the first time: You have to get your bearings, and you have to wrestle that style. Here, you have to adapt to things like live televised matches.
What’s the one biggest sacrifice you made during your journey to WWE?
That’s hard to say. But one thing I definitely hope will never happen again is losing hearing in one of my ears. I ruptured my eardrum, but I never got it fixed. That’s something that can be easily fixed, but as an independent wrestler, you can’t take time off, so I just kept going. Plus I can barely see out of one eye because I detached my retina back in 2007.
Sounds painful! But no worse than spending time with The Miz. Did you know that you actually have something in common with your former WWE NXT “mentor”? You’ve both been hosed out of a match at WrestleMania.
How did you react when you were bumped off the card at The Show of Shows?
I go with the flow with a lot of things. Obviously, it was upsetting. Nobody told us beforehand or pulled us aside and said, “Listen guys, we’re sorry.” That was the most disappointing thing. And of course, I wanted that ‘Mania moment. You’re not going get it in a pre-show match. But, once I slept in the trunk of my car, so it wasn’t the end of the world.
You collect vinyl records, you don’t own a TV, and you spend a lot of time reading. Is it safe to call you “The Lo-Fi Superstar”?
Well, there’s just so much mental pollution out there. I was rooming with a fellow Superstar, who will remain anonymous. He was watching TV and said, “Aw, there’s nothing on.” So he tossed me the remote. So what did I do? I turned off the TV. He complained, “Why are you turning it off? What are we going to do? Just sit here in this silence?” I said, “Yes, yes we are.”
No TV, no alcohol, no meat…what vices do you have, other than making opponents tap out?
That’s a loaded question. Maybe I think too much. It makes it hard for me to sleep. William Regal always likes to say, “Once you don’t start sleeping, then the carnival starts.” I don't have a lot of vices, per se. I have a very clear mind, and I fall asleep very easily at night. It’s staying asleep that’s the problem. Once I'm awake that first time, I'm done.
What’s a tasty vegan dish that every nose-in-the-air omnivore should try?
There are so many. My favorite place to eat is the Red Velvet Cafe in Las Vegas. It’s got regular food, it’s got vegetarian food, and it’s got vegan food. Anything that’s on the menu they can make vegan or vegetarian. Their namesake, the red velvet cake, is a cupcake that’s vegan. I’ve given it to nonvegans and they say it’s the best red velvet cake they’ve ever had. It’s unreal. They tell me it's only 180 calories. I don't buy it for a second, because you pick it up and it’s so dense, but then you think, “Well, the stuff in here isn’t made with cow fat,” so maybe it’s true.
You might be the most positive Superstar in WWE, as far as dealing with the daily grind goes. How do you keep your head up while on the road 200-plus days per year?
In WWE, it’s very easy for people to say, “Oh, this sucks” or, “Oh, I'm beat up.” In the Indies, you’re also beat up. You’re just making a lot less money. If you’ve been wrestling in the Indies for 10 years and you get here, nothing seems bad. I’ve had to literally sleep outside of a door because I was locked out of the place where I was staying in England. I've been deported. I was going from Japan to England and I didn't have a work permit, so when I got to England, they said, “We have to deport you back to Japan because that’s where you came from.” I said, “Going back to Japan does me no good, because then I don't have a work permit to get in there, either.” So I had to pay for a flight back to Los Angeles. But in the meantime, they stuck me in this room with all these other people being deported. They asked me, “Where are you from?” I said, “I’m an American.” And then they said, “Oh, you should have lied, man.” It was kind of scary. I was stuck in Heathrow Airport for 24 hours.
Lastly, your followers were infamous for delivering a rather un-PG chant whenever you entered the ring. Any less crude chants you might suggest they shout out these days?
“You’re going to get your freakin’ head kicked in!” It’s based on a British soccer chant. They have the best chants. It’s just one of those things I heard and I thought, “I’m going to try and get this started at a wrestling show” And I did. People were having a hard time with the beat, but eventually they got it. Once it came out on DVD it just spread. It’s funny how things spread so quickly. Have you read that book, The Tipping Point, by Malcolm Gladwell? It gives a really good explanation about how things just like that chant gain popularity. Give it a read.

When you’re the most-watched drama on broadcast television (and for four years in a row), you probably don’t need advice on what to do and not do. And yet here we are, NCIS.
The most recent season of the well-watched drama aimed to deliver a 22-episode string of character-centric episodes, opening with a mini NCIS: Hawai’i crossover that resolved the mystery of Parker’s seemingly deceptive ex-wife Vivian and then at midseason delivering a 3-way NCIS universe team-up.
Season 20 gave us more of the “Dad” side of McGee (albeit with no actual kids; more on that below!)… introduced Jessica’s sister Robin… revisited the case that put Parker’s old FBI partner in a wheelchair… explored Jimmy’s relationship with growing daughter Victoria… repeatedly taunted us with Russian spies… and gave Torres a blast or two from his enigmatic past.
Speaking of Nick, NCIS left us with the chilling image of him seated across from the man who had abused his mother for years, brandishing a gun and seemingly dead-set on payback.
Looking ahead to whenever Season 21 hits our screens (NCIS, like all of CBS’ scripted fare, is hoped to be back at “mideason” after the strikes are resolved), here is what we do (and don’t) want to see happen. Review our picks then share your own wishes in comments!
WANT: A visit with McGee's whole family
Tumblr media
Since the character’s debut in Season 11, Margo Harshman’s Delilah has made 18 total appearances — yet she is barely averaging one-per-season in recent years. And much more conspicuously, we haven’t seen Tim and Delilah’s twins, Johnny and Morgan, since the November 2017 episode in which they were born. References to the rugrats are nice, but we are way, way overdue to see Tim and Delilah parent some actual human beings.
WANT: A tougher, alpha Torres
Tumblr media
Maybe it’s just us, but…. Has NCIS never quite made up it’s mind on who Nick Torres is? The past couple of seasons certainly have us wondering.
During his overlap with Ellie Bishop, Torres seemed tougher. Much more of an alpha male. But one who is always hiding (hiding) a sliiightly goofy side. And in the immediate wake of Ellie’s sudden exit, he was shown to be brooding over that loss.
But as of late, Torres seems to more often be the butt of a joke — à la “Hey everyone, Nick doesn’t know this thing, ha-ha!” — than the one cracking the joke. And that makes it harder to connect with the material when suddenly the character is needed to be some, like, badass undercover convict.
Heading into Season 21, we’d like the show to make up its mind about Nick and bring back some of the swagger the undercover vet arrived with.
WANT: Big moves for Jimmy/Jess
Tumblr media
One of the very best things NCIS has done in recent years was the incredibly deft handling of this workplace friendship caught fire — from its oh-so-sweet onset to Jess’ treatment of Jimmy’s gunshot wound, from the whole “disclosure form” thing to the blurted “I love you” to Jess wondering about her place in the widower’s life. It’s just been perfect so far, and played wonderfully by Brian Dietzen and Katrina Law. So let’s ride that wave and see the couple tackle at least one major milestone in Season 21, be it cohabitation or a “family adventure” B-story with Victoria.
WANT: Bring back Brigid Brannagh!
Tumblr media
It was an unexpected delight to see Army Wives vet Brannagh pop up during Season 20 as Constance Miller, a U.S. Senator with whom Gary Cole’s Alden Parker shared more than a little chemistry. Alas, their eventually revealed insta-romance got derailed when Alden kinda sorta bluntly suggested that Constance was a traitor in cahoots with Russian spies. There’s no “I’m Sorry” greeting card for that, but it’d be great to see the senator again.
Or, if Constance’s instinct was right — that Alden is still carrying a torch for ex-wife Vivian — let’s see Teri Polo again.
WANT: An update on Gibbs... or Bishop... or 'Tiva'... or....
Tumblr media
We know that Mark Harmon chose to step away from the role of Gibbs after 18-plus seasons, and Emily Wickersham… actually, why did her run as Bishop end?
Anyway, the point we’re getting to is that while it is understandable that long-running characters such as Gibbs, Bishop, Tony and Ziva will at some point ride off into the (Alaskan or otherwise) sunset, at some point it gets rather odd to not hear a single peep about them!
Yes, the NCIS showrunner has suggested that offering no updates on Gibbs allows the character to “be everywhere and anywhere all at once” (or words to that effect), but can we hear any little something on Bishop, who abruptly kissed Nick good-bye in the Season 18 finale to go be an undercover operative? Or hear tell of what happened when Ziva, who was resurrected and resurfaced for a bit in Seasons 16/17, caught back up with baby daddy DiNozzo (who has been off-screen since Season 13)?
Abby gets the occasional nod; it seems simple enough to do the same for other gone-but-not-forgotten team members.
DON'T WANT: More crises for poor Kasie
Tumblr media
In just the past few seasons, forensics whiz Kasie (Diona Reasonover) has cheated death during a shooting at the diner… been held at gunpoint in the squad room by an escaped serial killer… been exposed (along with Jimmy) to a deadly biotoxin… and, most recently, saw her Thanksgiving spent with Jess get crashed by the gun-waving con man who’d been wooing Jess’ sister.
We’ve seen the toll that all of this has taken on Kasie — she quietly began training in Krav Maga! — so it’d be great for her to maybe go all of Season 21 without another brush with death.

hi!
just wanted to say that I've landed on it blog on a perfect timing since recently I've been trying to look at queer history, focused more on bisexuality since it's mine sexuality
and also 1) if you're okay with venting about my sexuality in your asks
2) I'm not from north America, so, do you think queer history changes depending on the country? (I know the answer seems very obvious but I still wanted to asked anyway)
thank you very much<3
Hi there!
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, this silly website doesn't always send me notifs if there's new asks in my inbox. Anyway, to answer your questions...
1) Yep!
2) Absolutely. I think one of the big problems on this site is that it's very U.S.-centric as a whole, and that definitely leads to people glossing over or remaining ignorant of queer history elsewhere. Every country's community has its own rich history, all of which deserve to be recognized, celebrated, and included in global queer discourse (the academic kind, not the petty internet fighting kind). Plus, being able to see and understand those communities is necessary in understanding the queer community on a global scale, since the interactions between local, regional, and national communities has played a key role in the evolution of how we understand gender & sexuality and their roles in society overall.

Summary:
“Where is he?” The General asked, and Steve almost laughed in his face again.
“Ohhhh he’s long gone, you big asshole!” He smiled, and he could tell that the General didn’t like that. Good. “He’s probably calling Hopper and Hopper is calling the U.S. Cavalry, they’re going to come in here commando style, guns a-blazing and kick your sorry asses back to Russia, and you’re gonna be two pieces of toast.”
They laughed, because they knew it. Because there was no other possible future where the Russians won. He imagined the General, blood pooling around his body. Dead. The General would die, and Steve took comfort in that.
The General nodded at Steve, a smug smile spreading on his face, then turned to the Doctor and spoke some Russian. They talked there for a moment, then they both walked out without another word.
“That’s bad right?” Steve asked once they were alone again.
“Uh, yeah. Yeah, that’s pretty bad.”
They leaned their heads on each others’ shoulders, and they stayed silent for a very long time. He focused on nothing but the connection, and hoped everything would sort itself out. He hoped Henderson was on his way.

Perhaps I haven’t been as clear as I should have been before since this is a side blog, but
if you DON’T support trans rights,
if you DON’T support Black Lives Matter,
if you DON’T support LGBTQIA+ rights,
then go ahead and unfollow me. The time and labor I put into this blog isn’t meant for you.
Obviously this is a fandom blog. I know going into fandom is a tool used to recuperate from real life struggles. I know that some of you are not from the U.S. or are otherwise privileged enough that the only way you know of the struggles from these and other marginalized groups is by learning about it instead of experiencing it. I admit that I also hold some of this privilege.
HOWEVER, that still isn’t an excuse to ignore the conversation entirely. When people have died and continue to die for their rights, you need to ask yourself why violence and deaths were necessary for a discussion of the advocation and safety of these communities.
Again, this is simply a side blog. I will do my best to continue to find hp related content for us both, as fandom space is a place meant to recover from the outside world, and we need spaces like these now more than ever. I am not here to judge you for what you may have or haven’t done in support of these groups.

BRUNO ART REQUESTS?! Oh word. How about Bruno trying to entertain his very pregnant sisters when they are pregnant with Isa and Dolores? 😭😭😭💚
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I went in a slightly goofy direction.
Bruno entertains his very pregnant sisters by doing fad dances from the future. The floss (2018), the Macarena (1993), the robot (1976), and the Carlton (1990s; not pictured lol). Ugh, these are so U.S.-centric, I’m sorry!

@blue-mint-winter commented post:
Your welcome and I completely agree about TCW changing important characterizations, especially Anakin's. Also Barriss, I will never forgive that shit. They definitely did that. That's why my favourite eps were about Jar Jar LOL
I spent the whole day debating with myself should I go on and scream about the unfairness done to Barriss and Jedi as a whole or not since talking negative about TCW at times feels like opening can of worms, but my frustration with current star wars content already hit acceptable limits and is waaay past them so I decided to screw all consequences, it is time for a mini-rant. I hope you don’t mind me bringing that up as separate post (or if you don’t wish to be tagged in that post, lemme know :))
Okay. Where do I even start? Anyone who would sort posts through my blog will know that I love analyzing stuff and more often than not, I’m critical toward the Jedi Order (especially Order as the institution) and that through the years I have a lot of critical things to say about the new canon, with the emphasis on The Clone Wars.
TCW has literally been a thorn in my side for years and although the show had its good moments (storyline wise and artistic effects/music) that I want to acknowledge, the longer the show was run, the more it felt to me as the Triumph of Form over Substance. The creators needed to go from point A (post AotC/clone wars) to point B (RotS / Order 66) but as it was proved, they did not need to actually keep Legends (old canon) elements in the original form and things were used or discarded as they wanted. Some choices made more or less sense, some were turning our knowledge totally 180 degrees with various effects or fan reactions. Like I will never agree with chip in clone brains storyline (x)(x) nor implying domestic abuse toward Anakin and Padme (they were meant to be tragic, doomed lovers, not being in abusive relationship for Force’s sake) or erasing Prequels/Legends characterization of Anakin for the more common action macho idiotic one (something that creators themselves admitted to do, which is why Skywalker is more mix of Han & Luke because apparently some people aren’t capable of accepting introverted / emotional man as main hero? Riiight). At the same time, I’m willing to defend changes done to Mandalorians,  because the story has a great potential but sadly the show focused mainly at the pacifism vs. terrorism angle. Which I guess makes sense from U.S.-centric perspective, but for someone like me, whose country/nation actually lost its independence for over 123 years (1795 -1918) and then suffered through the Nazi occupation (1939-1945) and survived the communist regime (1945-1989) before finally feeling like free country again, then Death Watch, however brutal or incoherent at times, rings a different bell. It is not about nationalism itself but wanting to have your culture back despite all the damage done through the years of forced expulsion / displacement or warriors (those not fitting into New society) and be independent from Republic / Empire. And this hits me more closely as a Pole than terrorist narratives done to DW (and Bariss).
But the thing that irritates me the most is how characters and their powers aren’t incoherent in a sensible way. They can use Force for great action and dueling, but Anakin can’t feel Obi-Wan’s presence when the man worked undercover (sorry if the show actually explained it for I do not remember it was ever addressed?).  Anakin at first was shown as a self-sacrificing type of person (e.g. Jedi Crash) but for some reasons sometimes doesn’t do anything to save clones from certain doom even if he could use Force to stop them from falling down into lava or whatever it was in Citadel? And it is not just him? Ahsoka killed clones infected by worms but didn’t kill Bariss because they were best friends or whatever? But she is the bestie with clones! She cares! She is after all the protagonist who acts smart and all while all adults suddenly lose their brains. Like Anakin, a Jedi General, does not study maps before an attack on an enemy position, but Ahsoka did and saved the day. What a hero! And whatever she will do, it is all right at the end of day. Bo-Katan willingly supported Pre Vizsla/DW who destroyed the whole village and killed an innocent girl (whose Ahsoka befriended) but does it matter? Nope. Because she is now besties with Bo-Katan, a beloved freedom fighter, a noble lady and all the jazz.Pre Vizsla? Anyone remember him? No? No wonder, a persona non grata who would drag Bo-Katan (and Ahsoka by extension) in bad light so the show and other current sources are literally erasing him from the Mandalorian storyline. Because it is better to not remember the past than face a consequence of characters (creators) choices.
It feels like yeah, Jedi care if the episode needs it but don’t care if the show needs some shock value or feeling of danger. Mace cares for clone troopers and even offers droids a chance to surrender but isn’t somehow bothered when 12 year old Boba was put in prison for the worst ADULT criminals. Sure, it is very reasonable. Anakin cares for clones, unless the show needs a high death toll or jokes (throwing Rex off the dam without warning). Jedi will literally jeopardize an important mission just to give one of them a proper burial but will not give a shit about dying or dead clones. And so on.
I understand that the show was made for kids, but if we go into dark themes - and the show went into pretty dark stuff, mind you - then at least it should be addressed properly. Slick accused Jedi of keeping clones slaves yet it doesn’t matter. What a bad clone! Totally forgotten for the rest of the season. Bo-Katan’s past crimes don't matter since you can just erase Pre Vizsla from her narrative. Does the story need emotional impact? Create female characters (Satine, Steela, Tryla, Teckla Minnau) to kill off, so someone else (Obi-Wan, Ahsoka & Padme) could use it for either development or making political statements and either turn dead ones into some saints or forget them all. Or just kill off clones, there is so many of them anyway, who cares how competent soldiers they were or if you make them act idiotic. Jedi lead an army made of people with no legal right, but the clones *love so much them they have nightmares about order66* so everything is right. All makes sense, right?
This doesn’t just influence how fans see Anakin (turned into a typical action male lead) or how Ahsoka is literally everywhere now. The show, as I’m seeing it, did a great disservice to Jedi. And Barriss… Barriss is just the tip of the iceberg. The authors literally twisted every established clone wars storyline around a new character - Ahsoka Tano - so there was no real reason to use Barriss since they could simply introduce us to original Ahsoka’s friend. She already interacted with so many original Jedi characters but instead the team took one of the most known Legends!Jedi Healers and turned into terrorist? Killing innocent people to prove Jedi lost their ways? It really feels disrespectful, both to fans and Jedi.
And you know what TCW did not show us? Jedi Force-healing their troopers. Something that Barriss did on various points in Legends sources. She literally worked in various Republic Mobile Surgical Units (Rimsoo) as was seen in Republic comics series & Medstar duology or helping at triage unit(s) and as Jedi healers would not abbadon the wounded during enemy attack. Like when fire spread around them and cut away from safe way to evacuate, her first worry was about the injured people (Republic #65)
Tumblr media
I’m really supposed to believe a person with such a mindset and compassion would decide to kill innocent people to make a point about war? Really? REALLY? Even more since there was no focus on why a Jedi like her could break and do something like that in the first place? This wasn’t a development or fleshing out for character, it was just shifting the blame on someone so Ahsoka could get out of Order before RotS/Purge. Which is unfair to Barriss.
Oh, and by the way, remember how Luminara was talking to Anakin to let it go and accept that his padawan may have died or something along the lines? The mentioned Republic #65 has Mace Windu personally searching for survivors and not leaving enemy lines without checking first if someone survives even when he was told that enemy may attack at any moment:
Tumblr media
This is a proper Jedi. There is a difference between accepting that you did not manage to save someone and not bothering to at least try to save. Which is just another reason why TCW Jedi strikes me more as arrogant, manipulative and uncaring than the flawed people presented in Legends.
Good Force, it is really bad if I'm going out of my way to rant about respecting Jedi characters...

Day 3 of posting a ramble or infodump about something I know probably too much about
Today’s topic, via spinner wheel, is my favorite books and literary works!
I used to be an avid book reader, but now I don’t read many physical books, in favor of internet stories (read: fanfiction). Here’s a list of my favorites of both, with a brief synopsis (without spoilers) and notes on why I liked the story so much!
The Inquisitor’s Tale (Adam Gidwitz) - this is hands-down one of the best books I’ve ever read! The subtitle is “Or, The Three Magical Children and Their Holy Dog” and that sums up the idea nicely. The book centers around these children, being hunted down by the king of France for heresy, in a fictional iteration of medieval France. The story is full of religious themes, and a feeling of family.
The Ruby Redfort series (Lauren Child) - one of the best mystery/suspense spy series ever; it was initially written for middle-grade children but I think anyone can enjoy them. Centered around a thirteen-year-old genius code-cracker (and her “sidekick” babysitter butler sorry house manager Hitch), each book has a sort of “nerd-topic” driving the plot - think advanced mathematics, organic chemistry, or synesthesia - but the book does a really good job explaining these at a level for almost anyone to understand (in fact, they’re how I got into a variety of subjects!)
Sophie Quire and the Last Storyguard (Jonathan Auxier) - also originally written for children but honestly a great book. Bookmender Sophie Quire is tasked with protecting a special book, the protecting of which sends her on a weird and suspenseful adventure with a boy named Peter Nimble and his cat-horse-man-thing named Sir Tode. I can’t say much about the plot without spoilers so that’s all...
The Golden Phoenix (emiartse) - this one is on Ao3, and it is the best Disney AU of the Dream SMP anyone has ever made. Can’t reveal much without spoilers, but basically Tommy is this story’s version of Rapunzel, and Techno and Wilbur are the “Eugene”s. There’s a lot of incredible worldbuilding in this one, and I absolutely love it.
Tommyinnit’s Clinic For Supervillains (bonesandthebees) - I know a majority of the fandom has read this or at least heard of this, but it’s for good reason! I think this is one of my favorite hero AUs on Ao3, and it’s just so good. Civilian Tommy stumbles across an injured supervillain in an alley, and against his better judgement uses his own powers to heal him. This sets off a big long chain of events with Tommy, his roommates, the villains, heroes, and vigilantes, and Tommy has to deal with all that :3
17 hours (bonesandthebees, thanotaphobia) - say byebye to the U.S. coasts, because they just got nuked. Wilbur and Tommy set out to meet Techno and Phil in Nowhere, Oklahoma, where emeraldduo has built a doomsday bunker. Roadtrip shenanigans and apocalypse hijinks ensue.
This Is Not an Act of Spite (Alex_Wants_To_Die, ellabellachicketychella) - Another Tommy-centric hero AU, but a little different - I love the characterizations and how they all interact! It’s not finished yet (still quite a ways to go) but I’m here until it’s done!
the stars and their children (bonesandthebees) - if you can’t tell, I love bee’s writing... basically, space royalty AU where Wilbur and Tommy get pretty much exiled off their planet and have to negotiate with the leaders of the Antarctic Empire for protection (which is not gonna be easy). Also not complete yet but I devour each chapter as it comes hehehe (also I’m one of bee’s named anons, she just doesn’t know, or which one heheee)
Tour En L’Air (CalistaWon) - hands-down, best short fic I’ve ever read. Tubbo is secretly a ballet dancer and by accident lets Techno know. Through a chain of events, Tubbo ends up telling all the others, then streaming teaching some of them some ballet. As a dancer this one made me so happy inside, I love fics like this!
I don’t know about any of the other authors but bee has a tumblr! @bonesandthebees! if you read these fics or any of hers, give her some love!
That’s all I got for now, enjoy the rest of your day/night my lovelies :D
edit: OH MY PRIME EMIARTSE HAS A TUMBLR TOO AND SAW AND REBLOGGED THIS?! SO SORRY I DIDN’T KNOW THAT - I WOULD HAVE MENTIONED YOU!!

Sorry to ask such a dumb question, just want to be informed, but what’s ibpoc? I know what poc means
It’s not dumb! I only learned it myself a while ago. It means black, indigenous people of color. You can also use POC in the post where I used it, but I was specifically thinking about anti-black sentiment in the NHL
