I'm surprised that I'm still not too happy with SoulFlower's complementary gene variety. Time will tell whether she will give good returns.

I'm also basically unwilling to changing "shimmer." It's a gene that costs actual real dollars, AND it has a shade close to brown that ties the chocolate in too well. I'm still of the mind we should vary the gene's effected areas - as in, some are more concentrated on the body, some are more concentrated on the wings.

Also, stained is in here! I had my reservations about that particular gene, even though I can sort of see the appeal? It'd force colors to complement each other by having a similar undertone. Here, it works well.

The Soulflowers

Four girls chosen to protect another world, where everyone with a soul plants flowers everywhere they step. Going against a group willing to uproot these blossoms, and kill the life of this world. But why outsiders, and not anyone of their own kind?

HELP

Okay, so I have a mha fic with soul flowers. The rules I have is that when a soulmate dies, the flowers turn gold, but if you are able to save your soulmate, the flowers gain a golden background.

Mina (my favorite) has a pretty unique role in this fic. She's not really the main character since it's pretty focused on OFA, but she does have a lot of her voice sprinkled throughout the fic. So I gave her a soul flower around her neck with the naupaka flowers from Hawaii. She doesn't cover it up because she's Mina.

What I need help with is whether or not her soulmate is dead or if she saved them. The soulmate in question, btw is her twin (oc) the mark is originally two different tones of naupaka, one for each sister, intertwined like a really cool choker.

Here is why this is such a struggle:

If her twin died, I think her using the flower so much, necklaces, her logo for [REDACTED], etc, would be an excellent way to remember the twin. She would be the second hero (guess who the first is, lmao) to openly have a golden flower in a much more obvious place. (The other hero has it on his hand) I could frame her hero costume around it two.

If she saved her twin, it would make her even more of a badass and prove she is already a hero (this story covers a lot of quirkism since it begins at the dawn of quirks, an area of the story that I don't think is explored enough) she would wear gold jewelry since gold is treated differently in this story because of it's relation with death. The only people who wear gold are those who saved their soulmates since that is the only time gold means life. Her twin would show up in the story. Mina would absolutely rock the sports fest (not by winning but by shocking the audience to see her mark) I get to expand on her motivation to be a hero (saved her twin from death by not from the repercussions of coming so close to it sorta thing) now I don't plan on killing any characters that don't die in canon (though I will be saving a few because I love Midnight and I cried so hard when she died Holy fuck) once she finally meets Midoriya she'd have a kindred spirit (lmao)

Flowers of the main skeles of Flowers In Bloom (because you have no fucking idea how long it takes to draw a skeleton covered in flowers ok. If I drew them all I would throw my phone across the room. Yes I draw from my phone.)

More about some of them!

Daisy (Dream) fights with an overwhelming force of positivity. Like being punched in the face with sunshine and rainbows. Mainly because that's the best way to combat his twin's negativity "infection" spreading through the multiverse.

Like @forgettingcrowbin 's Plumagetale!Ink, Camellia (Ink) has to actually paint on his flowers, generally sticking to rainbow camellias (which are a bitch to draw btw.)

Other than Reaper and Life, Stargazer (Error) is the oldest of the guardians. His abilities to use floral magic were lost as a natural consequence of fucking up his own balance, and his flowers are red and blue stargazer lilies. (Reaper is Solist Gladiolus btw)

Bluebell (Blue) and Tiger (Red) have lost their AUs and are living out of the Omega Timeline.

Belladonna/Bella (Nightmare) is in a constant hellish existence due to the way his immortality, corruption, and soulflowers mix. He's good at hiding it though.

Out of all of the "bad Sanses," Amaryllis/Amy (Killer) suffers some of the worst mental issues from the combination of LV and soulflowers. He suffers from significant dysmorphia from the way things have changed, second only to Belladonna.

Strangely enough, Dark Eyes/Dark (Dust) doesn't appear to be as distressed by the changes his own LV has done to his flowers. Perhaps he has accepted his fate, or sees it as part of his "punishment."

Cornflower/Corn (Horror)'s biggest changes to his flowers are that they are wilted and dead due to lack of magic. That may change with better circumstances.

Still debating on whether or not to include Dark Knight/Knight (Cross), but if I do, these would be his flowers. (You wanna know how friggin hard it was to find just the right flower for this guy?!)

When Katara's soulflowers bloom grey, he's even more sure that the spirits are full of shit. How could her soulmate be from the Air Nomads when they were killed a hundred years ago? When Zuko's soulflowers bloom blue, he knows he'll be lucky to last until adulthood. Soulmate AU where flowers bloom in the color of your soulmate's nation.

Excerpt:

It was supposed to be a special day—the day a person turns ten years old and their soulmark finally blooms. It’s the day that the soul connection becomes fully formed, when someone can begin to find the person who’s meant to be their other half. Usually the people of their tribe find their marks quickly; most of them never being destined to leave the comfort of the Southern Water Tribe. Their marks all come in the matching blue of the water tribe—an almost certainty that Sokka was supposed to have followed.

His parents were doing the thing where they talk without words, simply staring at each other above him as if that’s all it takes to understand each other. Sometimes, Sokka wondered if it might’ve been possible, considering the shared flowers he knew his parents bore. 

“Why’s it not blue?” Sokka demanded, his little heart beginning to flutter with the building tension of the room. “What’s it mean, Dad?”

The sound of his title broke Hakoda from his silent conversation with Kya, his expression falling under his control once more. Sokka called it his ‘Chief look’, when his face fills with seriousness and determination.

“Do you remember what we told you about these marks, son?” Hakoda asked him, his hand replacing Kya’s to cradle Sokka’s wrist in the air. The movement revealed the blue-colored freesias curling around Hakoda’s wrist and forearm. Sokka had spent a long time tracing along the petals of them, demanding his dad tell him the story of how he and Kya met years before. No matter how many times he’d told the story, his father never failed to smile and retell it. 

The moment you first meet your soulmate is like seeing the world in color for the first time. There’s nothing like it.  

“It’s my soulmate,” Sokka answered, studying the red (and distinctly not blue) petals carefully. They stood out among the whites and blues of the water tribe’s clothing, among the blue of his parents’ own flowers. 

“It’s a fire lily,” Hakoda explained then, waiting with all the patience in the world as Sokka processed the information himself.

Red. Fire. He’d never seen them in person, but everyone in the tribe knew the stories of the Fire Nation raids, when they’d stolen every waterbender for the sole purpose of weakening the Southern Water Tribe. Red meant danger, badness . It shouldn’t be swathed against his skin now, not in this flower, not where there should be blue.

Its a good morning, need to be in my Paris Geller Phase !! Chop chop chop!

Woke up at 6:30, gone for a walk and reading whilst walking for a good 20 mins, after that took a shower ang my new soap from Soulflower smells so so good and moisturizing, always left me in a good mood.

Weight myself and I'm currently 71.5kg. Hope to cut down more this week. Journal down bits of what i did yesterday and planned the day.

And the other story is that Blackbeard captures Law instead of his crew and the Straw Hats find out about it, I don't remember what happened but I know Law called them and told them they were on an island and they were going to hunt him down, in the end Law dies.

A little tidbit for Soul Blooms, hmmm...

It's extremely rare for fey to be part of a soul bloom chain/pairing.

Soul blooms came about with the mortal creations of the gods on Exandria, and, as far as the Critical Role wiki tells me, no god takes ownership for creating the fey. Like the Arch Heart and Moonweaver are fey associated, because some elves (creations of the Arch Heart) went fey and the Moonweaver has a residence in the Fey Realm (and some sort of hold over the Unseelie Court was implied during the Fey Malleus Key run), but there is no "God of the Fey." Debatably, the Archfey sort of collectively fill that role.

Anyways, the elves that went fey brought some capacity to bloom with them. When these elves have true lovers (in whatever form) that they'd spend their lifetime with, rather than a single day/night and never again, both parties will bloom. So Ollie and Birdie bloom for each other in this AU.

Full-blooded fey with no mortal lineage/origin almost never get blooms because most don't have the Fate (or desire really) to bond so deeply with a mortal. They want a tryst with a mortal, a mortal plaything, not the commitment.

So Fearne getting blooms is an oddity more because she's got so many soulmates, rather than blooming at all, seeing as her father is an elf and fey elves are the most prone to blooms in the Fey Realm.

Hello! First of all, I'm so sorry I'm so slow to reply to messages, but I'm really glad you enjoyed Soulflowers and Midwest Zukka! It's been such a wonderful experience dabbling into fanfic and getting to share with others :)

I actually do write original fiction (it's the main thing I write, typically, but it just doesn't end up getting shared) and I've got one book out on Amazon: The Play's the Thing: a Shakespeare Mix-Up. Still a bit fanfic-esque since it's still drawing from an established source, and definitely still matches the general way I like to write: supportive relationships, people grappling with mental health, a smattering of humor, disaster LGBTQ energy. :)

I'd obviously love if you'd check it out, but regardless, thanks so much for reading and supporting my writing! I'm hoping to get some more fanfic out, and I'm also revising/polishing a handful of other original works to possibly get onto Amazon as well. Thanks again! 💙
