Steal center stage, and the hearts of those who gaze upon you.

How does a moment last forever? How can a story never die?

War is as much of an art as it is a brazen display of brutality.

For Vil, every performance he gives is war. His weapons: skill, grace, beauty. All of it meant to charm the audience. No substitutions, it no stunt doubles.

Today is no different.

He kneels in the snow atop a corpse. Not a real dead man, but a dummy with an eerie amount of detail. It had been prepared by experts in the prop department, made to resemble his character's sworn enemy in the film.

Crimson blooms upon white robes marked with ancient runes. The collar and neckline are daring, plunging to reveal a generous amount of the bare skin of the chest to the elements. The hair, a tangled mess of glossy raven waves, sticking from the moisture to cold skin. The skin, pale blue with frost, the eyes cloudy orbs.

The mouth, stained red with the blood of countless innocents, no longer moves.

In this scene, the she-devil Snow White is dead, and he, heir to the Witch Queen, has slain her.

Without hesitation, he plunges his bare hand into the dummy’s chest, fishing out a model heart. It is covered in a mixture of corn syrup, food coloring, cocoa powder, and starch to simulate bodily fluids. The thickened liquid dribbles down his own pale hands, staining them.

Lifting his trophy into the air, a joyous, defiant sparkle in his eyes. A throaty cry erupts from him.

“With this, the Eternal Snow will be no more, and peace shall return to my realm!!”

Vil’s explosive laughter fills the mountain. The snow shakes, the land itself shudders in his presence.

He has won.

Finally, finally, finally.

A gruff man’s voice reaches him.

“CUT!!”

In an instant, the scene falls apart and reality sets in.

Cameramen tend to their equipment, prop managers and stylists exchange whispers. Special effects mages tamp down their snow spells. The illusion is stripped away, revealing a balmy day set against a backdrop of mountains.

Staff in scurry in, offering Vil towelettes and lotion to clean and moisturize his hands. He accepts them, then waves the staff off, one ferrying the fake heart.

“Bravo, Vil-kun, bravo!!” the director gushes. “I knew it was the right call to cast you as the hero for this film. There wasn’t a flaw in your acting, m’boy!!”

“Thank you, sir.” Vil bows to the older man, keeping his reply short and simple. “It is an honor to be a part of your masterfully written story."

It is the tale of a beautiful demon locked away in a glass coffin, freed from slumber and set upon the world to shroud it in never-ending winter… The tale of a selfless noble and her huntsmen that stands in opposition to her and her seven sniveling imp minions. A tale of two fates intertwining—the noble whose bloodline sealed the demon away, and the demon who vowed revenge on descendent of the Witch Queen.

Vil's eyes cannot stop themselves from sliding over to his co-star, who waits in the wings. His lifelong rival, Neige LeBlanche.

He is dressed similarly to the dummy that had been swapped in for his corpse. Red ruins his pristine white gown, and his hair is wild—but off-camera, Neige lacks the madness of the villain he plays. Neige smiles sweetly at the staff, giggles like an innocent schoolboy.

Vil fails to look away before Neige meets his eyes. He waves shyly, and, out of courtesy, Vil returns it.

“You've all been working very hard to bring my vision to life," the director happily booms. "Let's take a 30-minute break. Hydrate, grab some food, whatever. Actors, hair and makeup retouches before stepping back on set!"

There is a collective murmur of approval, feet shuffling for the refreshments table. A staff member offers Vil a spot in the donut line, but he politely declines.

"No thank you, I've prepared granola and a light fruit yogurt ahead of time. If you'll excuse me."

He peels away and heads for his trailer. Once Vil is shut away—a well-trained peacock stepping into his gilded cage—he produces his phone and reviews his jam-packed schedule: the film shoot, an interview with a popular variety show, modeling for a magazine cover, practicing for a stage play…

He, cast in the spotlight of hero in every single one.

You are the fairest of them all, Mira would robotically recite. All the social media websites and news outlets were talking nonstop about him, and he knows it.

It's the Age of Vil, his manager would joke. Isn't this great? You're demonstrating your range. This will definitely net you bigger and bigger opportunities in the future!

They’re finally recognizing you for your cuteness and goodness, his father would tell him. That’s my son! I knew everyone would come around eventually.

On any other day, he might have scoffed or dismissed their comments. Today, he simply smirks, silently pocketing his phone.

Vil passes a large vanity on his way to the mini-fridge. A glimpse of his reflection reveals the elaborate jewel-toned ensemble he is fitted for, the makeup that highlights the highest points of his face. Shining, commanding attention—just as any protagonist would.

He stands straighter, holds his chest higher. Proudly flaunting his feathers, his numerous accomplishments.

I've worked myself to the bone to reach this point. I've earned every little bit of this.

Retrieving his snacks, Vil makes to join the crew on their break. Even if Neige will be present as well, he grimaces.

A shadow invades his periphery.

Vil pauses at the doorway and looks back.

There, sitting on his vanity, was a bushel of roses the color of midnight. A black envelope embellished with gold accents is tucked among the petals.

His brows knit together. How odd--he is certain he hadn't seen that a second ago, nor had he heard anyone entering to drop it off while he was briefly at the fridge. How could he have missed such an obvious gift?

"Perhaps it's from the director or producer," he muses, plucking the envelope free and opening it.

Inside, there is, as suspected, a letter.

Same black paper, same gold embellishments.

Please accept this humble offering from myself. It was a joy to watch you perform to your heart's content.

I was very moved by the experience. It is not often that I get to observe Man in all of its peaks and crests in such a short span of time.

I will continue to watch over you and support your dreams from the sidelines.

Initials in the place of a name? Vil turns the paper over, expecting more on the other side. It's unlike his fans to leave out their full identity. (Half of the time, they include a list of their social media handles and beg for a follow back.)

But alas, the back is blank and yields no answers.

He frowns, facing the words scrawled on the front of the square again. The cogs in his head turn, arriving at a single logical conclusion.

I only know of one possible M.D., but... Is he truly the type to send notes of this nature?

Vil toys with the idea in his head, just as he toys with the letter between his fingers. Ego rises and colors his lenses.

"Fufufu, it seems that even great mages such as he are not immune to my beauty and talent." Vil chuckles, exiting the trailer. His adoring fans await.

He's right about everything, and he doesn't realize how wrong he wants to be.

At best, your relationship with Dan Heng could be classified as "business".

Actors often get shoved into scandals whether they like it or not, and considering your young careers, one wrench could dismantle your entire future.

As a result of this, from the moment you two set foot on set "Honkai Star Rail" as costars, you agreed to keep an amicable distance outside of all job-related functions.

Dan Heng was okay with this.

He is okay with this.

It's okay, and it's normal, and it's honestly what's best.

For both of you. For your careers, and for yourselves.

Right?

But there are some nights where he realizes just how boldly the line is drawn—at least, from your end—and he starts to wonder if there was some other way to get around it.

It starts as a request he didn't think over.

"Should we grab a drink after this shoot? I'm exhausted."

Some part of him yearned for something... a little more casual than just business.

Not that he quite realized that himself.

However, you were firm in your refusal, citing the agreement that the aloof man himself had also agreed to.

He couldn't say much to that.

Another time, it was about coffee. Getting a cup before work together if you and him happened to meet up.

This time, the staunch denial surprised him a bit.

Your reminder of the verbal terms you'd both set for each other started to become a bitter thing for him to hear.

He was starting to regret it.

And he didn't like what that implied.

"Dan Heng, your script for the next act."

You were curt in handing it off to him, but his stomach still felt fluttery when your fingertips brushed.

Even your colder tone of voice was like a melody to him, but the thought of such a cheesy romanticization of your normal, everyday action brought him a bittersweet twist in his chest.

The raven-haired man nodded in return, his poker face a perfectly practiced trade that allowed him to deny any butterflies with ease.

Truthfully, he didn't know if it was to deny them to anyone who might ask, or to deny them to himself.

"Right. Thanks, Y/N."

"All right, everyone! Good work today!" The director's voice rang out, the words allowing everyone to relax. "Get some rest, and let's pick up fresh tomorrow!"

You were quick to walk away, giving your fellow costars friendly good-byes.

Though Dan Heng received the same wave and farewell you gave to anyone else, he still treasured that you looked his way, even if only for a moment.

Maybe one day he could convince you to come along for just one coffee stop. Maybe then, you'd talk, be more willing to open up to him outside of professionalism.

But the very next day, on the set for your character's backstory shoot, he was met only with what felt like a knife to the heart.

Dan Heng wasn't a people person by any means. Reading others wasn't his forte, and it never would be.

But when it came to you...

He could just see the way your eyes sparkled as you held your other costar, acting out a tragic romance with a fleck of truth behind your every word.

He even heard you giggle as they leaned in between a shot, asking if you'd like to get dinner after work was through for the day.

Dan Heng turned away before he could catch your response.

He was quite sure hearing it would break him.

Strong loving arms wrapped around your warm form. Your body was dragged across the bed to press firmly against a strong warm frame. Delicate and loving lips pressed against the back of your neck as hands groped your sensitive body. With a delicate moan of encouragement, your husband rolled you over to face him.

Steel blue eyes gazed at you as the skin around them creased a little as a smile graced his kissable lips. Soft raven hair shifted on his charming face as he moved his head on the pillow. Elegant fingers danced over your cheek as your hair was pushed off your face.

Tantalising lips pressed against yours as your precious love for one another was confirmed and the memories of last night's passionate lovemaking fluttered through your minds. Tongues moved together in an adoring dance causing bodies to tingle and ignite with desire.

"Good morning." His voice was deep and rumbled through his chest as sleep slowly lost its grip on him. "You look divine."

Your cheeks heated as your heart raced with joy. "Says the most handsome man in the world." You rubbed your nose against Levi's cute button nose. "Good morning. This weekend should be a fun one with the four of us. You have no work, correct?"

Thoughts drifted through Levi's mind as he reflected on his schedule. He was rather busy filming a movie recently, but he filmed a fair few scenes last week. He was certain that he could now devote all his time to the love of his life and his two precious and adorable children.

"I'm all yours." He kissed you sweetly. "We'll have a lot of fun."

"Yes." You lifted your upper body and sat up on the soft bed. You gently rubbed your eyes of sleep as your husband whined below you at the lack of attention and contact. "We should check on our little flowers."

A warm hand with a purpose grasped your thigh and slowly travelled up towards your heat. "We should, but we should also take advantage of them still sleeping." His lips pressed against your thigh.

"I know our children." You dragged your body out of bed and left a sad husband behind. "They are up, I can feel it in my bones and I know they are right outside our door."

You glided over to the door and opened it to reveal your two little flowers, who were spitting images of Levi, standing together. Their little hands were together as they held each other's hands. Both of them hand messy bed hair and a wide-eyed look of love for you.

Both stretched their little arms towards you with bright smiles. "Mummy!"

You knelt and wrapped your arms around your three-year-olds before lifting them up. A delicate smell of flowers enveloped you as you held your darling children. Your sweet little children always smelt so nicely of flowers. You adored both with everything in your heart, they were your world.

You delivered both children to the bed and released them. Laughter filled the room as both children played with their father. Calm came over the room as a group hug was formed and all four of you rested. You held your son close as Levi raised his daughter above him and gave her a playful wiggle causing laughter to fill the room again.

Levi sat up with Lilly and hugged her. "Shall we get ready for the day?" A smile graced his lips making his children smile. "I'm thinking we make a fort today and play outside as well."

Evan's eyes sparkled. "Really?"

Levi nodded. "Really, little man."

Lilly grinned. "Yay!"

Levi scooped up both his kids and held them close. "I'll help you get ready for the day."

A loving smile graced your lips as you watched your husband care for his children. You did your morning routine as the muffled sounds of your children and husband made your heart flutter with love. You added to the sounds and smells of the house by starting breakfast. You cooked plenty of everyone's favourites and made a pot of tea for Levi and you to share, along with juice cups for your babies.

Little feet patted against the wooden floors as your twins moved closer. With arms wide open you caught your children and embraced them in a loving hug. You moved them to their seats and presented them with breakfast and drinks.

With a playful tug, you were pulling into the arms of your husband. His hands ran over your body as his lips dotted kisses over your neck and face. His lips crashed against yours as your children giggled at the loving view.

Levi pulled back and released a long sigh. "You look so delicious this morning."

"Thank you."

He pulled his gaze from you and stared at the food. "Oh, this looks incredible."

"Enjoy."

He kissed your cheek. "Thank you."

You sat and joined your family for a delicious breakfast before letting Levi clean up everything. With children ushered into the living room, you began making a fort. You smiled softly as your children helped you out as best as they could. You gave them tasks to help you out, such as gather some cushions and cuddly toys.

You helped your kids inside the fort and checked on them before returning to your husband. You giggled as Levi felt you up a little and showered you in kisses. "Our little flowers are in the fort."

"Let's join them." He let you climb in first before he climbed in after. "Hello, you little cuties." He chuckled as they climbed all over him. "Shall we tell some stories?"

You giggled as you lay in the fort as the kids cheered. "What story do you have this time?"

Levi chuckled. "I'm thinking a story about how mummy and daddy fell in love."

Both kids threw their arms up. "Yay!"

ONE YEAR SINCE SPARKLE ON, RAVEN: THE LIFE OF DRILLGIRL

It is October 12, 2023 and today marks the first anniversary of "The Perfect Perfect School Year", Sparkle On, Raven's first episode.

Obviously, this series means quite a lot to myself as an enjoyer of indie web shows and funny anime-type humor.

I'd like to hear from the users of Tumblr - what your experience with the show has been like - why you enjoy it and have fun with it - what sticks out to you. Consider this post a place to share that love for the show and its colorful cast.

Sorry about the Garfield spam on main. I don't think I've ever mentioned it here but as children my siblings and I loved Garfield & Friends. My sister used to collect the books and I used to borrow them and spend afternoons reading them on the living room couch. It's something I have a soft spot for.

...That said, I'm so fucking sick of Ch*is Pr*tt being everywhere. Dude's an asshole and a prime example of why casting celebrities instead proper voice actors sucks. Voice acting is a talent that is completely different from regular acting! Hire people who are vocally talented to voice characters!! Not everyone can be Robin Williams or Christopher Lloyd!!!!

Maybe I just sound like a 90's kid boomer but there's something incredibly special and fun about letting talented voice actors flourish. People like Tara Strong (Timmy Turner, Raven, Twilight Sparkle, Bubbles, Omi, Dil Pickles, Terrence [Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends], a million other roles) and Jim Cummings (Pete [Disney], Pooh and Tigger [from the 90's through the 2010's], Darkwing Duck [and Negaduck in the Ducktales Reboot!], Rasputin's singing voice in Anastasia [whose speaking lines were by the aforementioned Cristopher Lloyd]) are legends in their field. Tell me that the absolute talent and range of these actors isn't astounding! Voice actors are fucking dope!!!!

I don't want to have to settle for mediocre voices. Sure, Mario and Garfield in their respective movies were okay. But why settle for "okay"???????? I fucking love Mario stuff! There are so many people out there who could add their own unique flavor to Mario! Why are we settling for basic general white dude with no particularly distinguished style????

Tldr; sorry for Garfield spam. Got sidetracked thinking about how much I hate how celebrities taking away from voice talent.

What If 1.925: Twilight was just a figment of Princess Celestia's imagination?

"Twilight, could you go deal with Tirek II for me if you so please?" Celestia rung a bell.

A spectacled Raven Inkwell sighed, kneeling at her Princess's hooves. "As you wish, my Princess. I must remind you, we have no records of this Twilight Sparkle that you refer to myself and my sisters by."

"Alright, Twilight," Celestia shrugged, swallowing another bite of her cake. "Oh, and could you remind your babysitter that the Crystal Heart needs to be watered thrice daily as well?"

Raven saluted. "One of my sisters has already communicated with Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. There is no issue to report regarding this task."

Celestia tapped a hoof idly against the arm(foreleg?)rests of her throne. "Ah!" she suddenly burst, "That reminds me, how's that brother of yours, my dishonorably-discharged-for-medical-reasons student? He still making googly eyes at Cadance?"

Another Raven stepped up beside Raven and whispered something in her ear. Raven stiffened up, nodding at Celestia. "Prince Shining Armor of the Crystal Empire has been married to Mi Amore Cadenza for years, Princess. They have already produced children."

"Grandchildren!" Celestia cheered, clapping her hooves together in excitement. "Why didn't you tell me sooner, Twi? Fetch me my guards, I must attend the baby shower at once!"

Raven reached a hoof out. The second Raven beside her floated a communicator into her grasp. "Prepare a chariot, the Princess intends to travel. We need full accommodations and a nurse onboard. It is not necessary, but it may be the Princess's preference for the Royal Chef to also be present. As a reminder, all references to the chef must be done by the name 'Pinkie Pie', lest we upset the Princess."

She paused. "Also, notify Mi Amore and Shining Armor of her highness's arrival in advance. They must prepare for yet another baby shower. We already know well what happens if there is not one to attend."

Raven passed the device back to her sister before bowing again. "It is done. Is there anything else that you request from your faithful student?"

"Nope! Just Tirek."

"As you wish."

Raven knocked on the door. She stepped back, waiting a minute. Then two.

She knocked again, checking her watch as she glanced at a third Raven Inkwell that stood beside her--this one a pegasus.

And about half a dozen more of her sisters behind her.

A loud thump emanated from behind the door, followed by a groan. Heavy hoofsteps clip-clopped up to the door.

"Celestia again?" Tirek's tired voice came in muffled mutters. "Doesn't she believe that the all-powerful Tirek is in Tartarus or whatever that place is?"

"The Princess believes that your next-in-line has come to rampage. I have brought my sisters to assist in the relocation. We hope it will not inconvenience you as much as it had the first time."

The door creaked open as Tirek let the Raven Collective enter. He yawned, scratching his side as he watched each mare pass his belongings out into the hallway.

"What about everyone else in the apartment?" he yawned, stepping aside for his sagging mattress to be carried out. "Don't they have to relocate too?"

Raven gave a brief nod as she passed. "You know well the size of the Collective. The other occupants of the complex are also being assisted as we speak."

Tirek watched as his cart of possessions was loaded onto the train. He turned his head, glancing one last time at the unassuming apartment that he'd called home for the past three years. It wasn't too bad of a place, to be honest. Yes, it was drab and dull--nothing like the gaudy mansion he'd been placed in for show the first time around.

Those acting days were over, anyway. The constant need to hire himself and other actors to stage worldly threats to distract the Princess was far more draining on Equestria's resources than it was to simply pass along rumors and demolish derelict buildings. It worked to the nation's benefit, in a sense--the Princess remained placated by her delusions of a student, while at the same time the decaying infrastructure of the countryside could be allocated the resources needed for redevelopment.

His eyes shifted to the line of carts lined up behind his own, each one hauled by four, no, six of the same mare.

He always wondered where they came from.

In the distance, a deafening explosion marked the end of the derelict building.

The Raven Inkwell that stood beside the open doors of the train's cargo truck lifted a radio to her mouth.

He could just barely hear the words she muttered.

"Sparkle has arrived. The target has been eliminated. Report back to the Princess via dragonfire at your assigned time."

Okay so the reason so many kids shows which were marketed to a certain gender end up coming to tumblr as gay as possible is because kids shows with an overall same gendered cast doesn’t provide any heterosexual options. So the audience who crave romance only have gay options, and the audience that start to develop crushes on characters only have gay options. As well as this shows kinda sabotage their straight relationships by being bad at writing romance by: adding characters who have no defining feature other than to be part of a relationship, forcing these characters to be together because BOY AND GIRL MADE EYE CONTACT GUESS THEY KISS NOW, or adding needless relationship drama to cause conflict. None of those will be as appealing as best friends who are both their own characters, well developed and have convincing reasons to like each other. And best friend pairs tend to be same sex. As well as this, if the majority of people in the whole world of the show seem to be of one gender, the idea that they all happen to be cis is less believable. Also due to not every member of the cast getting into relationship, it’s easy to imagine a-spec characters as well.

Kids shows are queer and I’m here for them heterosexual tears!

Like-First it was Raven(Teen Titans into Teen Titans Go!), then Bubbles(PPG into PPG reboot), Ben(Ben 10 into Ben 10 reboot) and then Twilight(MLP:FiM into Pony Life)
