I am TELLING YOU if you have spent months, years, around the same trees, land, etc., they WILL recognize you and reach out to you or not mind if you reach out to them. You don’t need to know anything about them.
A tree in the forest behind my parents house I’ve never spoken to before reached out - I never would’ve expected it. I don’t know what kind of tree it is. But of course this tree knows me. This tree has known me since I was six.
Trust me. This land knows you. These plants know you. They want to speak with you.

Spirit Work Basics
You voted, I listened. I meant it. So buckle up as we go through the basics of Spirit Work.
I've touched on this on other posts but I'll make a massive post here. This is not going to explain everything and will still be pretty broad. Cause I do not have the time, the knowledge, nor patience to try and explain EVERYTHING.
But I do hope it helps.
Look under the tags advice, spirit communication, spirit work for more detail.
So hello, I'm Sol. I've been working with spirits since I realized I was speaking with them. I had the gift since I was a young child, first spirit I saw being my grandfather on my father's side shortly after he passed away. He was a pastor, supposedly, I was doing the best I could to repeat his favorite verses despite me being a small little shit. I don't remember the verses, I do remember speaking to him a lot however.
Which is where we'll begin, how to speak to spirits.
Maybe she's born with it? Maybe it's insanity~♪
Well, how do we begin with speaking with spirits? There's a number of ways, actually. Some do have the natural ability, like myself but that shouldn't discourage people who are newly trying and don't have that natural affinity for it. Spirits can and will talk to anyone if you open yourself up. Just takes a bit of work. But Sol, you may ask, how do I do that?
If you've been on witchblr for a bit you know what I'm about to say next: Yup.
Meditate.
Tumblr media
Now listen, meditation is a way to open yourself up to the spirits around you or just at least signal "hey, I'm open to talk to." It gives you a good sense of your own energy and the energy around you. Meditation doesn't have one look either. A lot of people can't just sit still and kept their legs crossed or be on their knees with their eyes closed (I see you ADHD/ADD people). Hell, my lazy ass will meditate lying down.
Literally the definition of Meditation: to engage in mental exercise (such as concentration on one's breathing or repetition of a mantra) for the purpose of reaching a heightened level of spiritual awareness. transitive verb. : to focus one's thoughts on : reflect on or ponder over. (merriam webster)
It's pretty broad, right? Hell, you can even work out and meditate. I do it all the time. Cause I focus on my breathing and the feeling of energy through my body. Basically you can get creative with it.
While you're meditating, make sure you're feeling your own energy. This can come in a number of ways; waves, your heartbeat, a feeling of something cloaking you etc. While you have that feeling down, envision an opening, whether its a door, or just acknowledging you're reaching out to the other side. Whether or not you get an answer back, you are putting yourself out there and that's half the battle done. Just be sure to know how to close yourself and ward your body. Spirit work and opening yourself like that is no joke and I'd like you to be safe.
To do that, just envision whatever you had opened closed or recede back or whatever you used that worked for you.
Signs to Look for
Some of the more common tells of a spirit hearing and trying to communicate are of the following:
Small echos/voices in the back of your head
Random thoughts that may not be your own
Knocks or things shuffling
Strange dreams
Small phantom touches
Feelings of being watched
And Many More!
"But Sol," some of you might say, "that's really fucking vague and could just be explained away."
Yeah...welcome to spirit work. You thought this shit was easy?!
You have to work on your discernment. It is a skill needed for this type of work.
Tumblr media
Seems counterproductive, but it's not! See, if every bump and noise was reported as ghosts or spirits, well...we'd be even less believed than we already are. When doing spirit work, or ghost hunting, you are stuck with the burden of proof and it's a huge burden to have. This is why people ask for repeats of actions, to speak again in recorders and other things. We're asking for repetition, because science is prevalent, especially in spiritualism and occultism. We have to be our own skeptics so when we have something that can't be explained away, we truly have something to celebrate.
Tools on the Job
No one said you had to do this all on vibes. No shame in using tools. I'll more than likely take the time to make specific posts about each tool in the future cause this post is already really long but I'll give you a nice rundown of basic tools.
By the way anyone who tries to shame you for using tools or says "only trainee or baby witches use this or that" are tools themselves (not the good or useful kind) and should not be given the time of day. Tools are fine. Use them for help if you need it because that's what the fuck a tool is for.
Now these aren't all the tools you can use but I'll give you some well known ones. I've seen witches get real creative and it's honestly super cool watching them use strange things that you'd never think about as a witchcraft tool. But that's what makes it so fun.
Tarot cards
Tarot is something I often use. 78 cards all with different meanings. There's many many ways to interpret them and multiple themes that many of them have.
My best advice for these are to just look up the overall meanings both upright and reversed just to have a general consensus of each card. Play around with them a lot, and interpret them the way you would as if you were making a story with them. You can also use them for spirit communication.
Calling forth a spirit allowing them to touch the deck (just leave it for a moment and allow them to influence the deck as it were before doing the spread). Holds a lot of power in your hands but is a little slow.
Pendulum
A pendulum is usually a crystal tied to a string or a chain that can be swung over a board of either yes or no or maybe for its options. Sometimes there is a mock ouija for the pendulum to spell out things as well.
Cool thing about a pendulum is it can be anything that swings if you wish. Some people I've seen take off their necklace and use it as a pendulum just fine. Just have a singular point and you can get to work anywhere with it. Please make sure to ward yourself from invading or malevolent spirits when you do this though.
Lots of pendulum or spirit boards exist and have different templates as well.
This is more of a call and response type of device to use. Especially when you feel a spirit present Still has a fair bit of control in your hands.
Ouija board
The infamous kids game works around the same way a pendulum does, except there is a planchette that slides over the board. This is a call and response based tool much like a pendulum. However, it is a little easier for the ghost to manipulate and control. Which is where all the stupid stories of ghosts completely taking over and fucking up shit takes place. Also, half of the biggest problems are just humans being humans which means victims of groupthink. So... stupidity. Someone freaked so you all freak...the energy gets bad and shit happens. Do your best to remain calm and just work through it.
Also no. ZOZO XOX 2O2O etc does not want your ass. Many spirits claim that shit to get a rise out of you anyway. Guys...no, I swear it does not happen. This is main character energy that none of us have...or want! Even if a demonic entity came in to fuck with you, there are plenty of other ways to do it. Be fucking for real.
Please remain kind and courteous to who you contact. Do not let your paranoia about this tool make you do stupid things. Always say goodbye when you are finished. Try and stay as calm as you can.
Never. Ever leave the planchette on the board unattended. Lest you get an unwanted guest or one that'll overstay their welcome.
Crystal Ball
Crystal Balls are a good way to detect energies. This is normally used in a private setting cause it desires a lot of concentration. Now, I'm admittedly not that knowledgeable in this because I don't use my crystal ball often.
Also, your crystal ball doesn't have to be clear. Mine is obsidian and I love her.
When having your question, focus on it and concentrate. Make sure it is open ended. I mean you can have yes or no, but it's gonna be a bitch to decipher a yes or no answer.
Close your eyes and let the answers come to you in the forms of images and colors and such, examine all you can as just let your intuition work.
Sounds simple but its a rather interesting art form to work on. Symbols and such can confuse you and it's heavy on your interpretation. I'm sure there's books and stuff out there for a general view of this symbol you see might mean this or that but...largely, this is a true test of how you read your intuition.
I'd do it more, if I wasn't closeted and lived with nosy closed-minded people.
C'est la vie.
One important thing though...don't leave your ball uncovered. Especially if it's clear. That's how you end up with burned shit. Those bitches are like mega magnifying glasses. And it happens faster than you think. Science is scary.
Mirror/Water Scrying
Mirror and water scrying is kind of the same as a crystal ball except it's a quicker and often less expensive way to work on your divination.
Some people have a specific mirror that they black out and scry that way. Others have a scrying bowl made for divination alone. It's just as good. You can use any bowl or mirror however. Just be sure to cleanse the area before you start and after you're done.
Some thank the water used for divination before putting it down the sink or in the earth. But that's more of an individual's choice/belief/faith than anything else.
Lots of occultism and spiritualism has a thing with mirrors being portals, openings, etc to the otherside and can bring some unwanted visitors.
And as someone who now sleeps with their mirror facing the wall now, I will say I believe a lot of what people say on that.
I want a goodnights sleep damnit.
Just be sure to cleanse your tools after use. Better safe than sorry.
ETC.
There's a lot of creative ways people can use these tools and magic. So don't think of magic as a recipe for how to be a witch or do witchcraft. That's half the fun of witchcraft.
Discovery.
Finding ways to do things, to hear, to see, to communicate. Yes there are certain tools that work better than others but, we as individual people also work in different ways.
There's a psychic out there who reads asparagus like bones. There's someone who will scry with a puddle on the ground they found. People have their own methods and ways to work their magic and we should learn from them. So if you have some non normal tactic or even something unsual, embrace it to the fullest.
I divine with music. If you ask me it's Apollo's influence. My spirits communicate with music.
When I meet people and get a good vibe on them a song comes to mind, and even if I forget your face, your voice, who you are, that song will remind me what I think of you. Songs pop up in my head when people associated with it are close.
I'm not going to say I'm the only one in the world who does this, cause that would be some bs. But its my tactic and its natural.
Do what is natural for you and not what other witches say you should do.
Even me, I beg you not to try and emulate or follow my advice down to a T if it doesn't work for you. Don't force it to work.
I am just one person, one voice spouting some advice. Take what you can from it, take what helps and work your own path. And then in turn do the same. I'm a path offering person not a director. But that's...just...me...
"But Sol, how do I speak to spirits?"
Talk.
Tumblr media
Yeah, that simple. Talk.
This can be in a lot of forms. Some write and burn letters to ancestors, or past family members. Set up a placement for talking to them. Admittedly, a lot of spirit work and communication is experimental. We just warn you over some things because they've happened enough for us as a collective to go ah, a pattern.
I have urns at home so it's pretty easy to say hello in that case.
I am NOT telling you to go into a graveyard and just go wussap. No. Some spirits don't want your tomfuckery. Also if they're feeling really chatty all at once you might get overwhelmed and you will not have a good time. Read the dead room.
Open yourself up. WARD YOURSELF FIRST! PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF THE GODS. But yeah open yourself up. Learn how to open your pathways and close them first. That comes with meditating. Yes, this is why damn near all of us nag the shit out of y'all about meditating.
Just talk and listen. It won't happen immediately. It takes time and a careful ear. Remember signs to look for. You might spot them before you hear them. Small instances of shadows out the corner of your eye. A touch from nowhere, a shiver down your spine. Other things going off or being moved, etc. Slowly, someone or something will receive your message and try to respond in kind.
When you get these small responses, just keep calm and say hello or acknowledge what they've done.
"Oh, someone's here"
"Hello there"
"Are you still here?"
It'll be awkward (try to remember where you are, don't be a weirdo in public), but overtime you'll get better at it.
Conclusion!
Like any skill, spirit communication takes practice.
There are a vast plethora of ways to communicate with tools that I haven't mentioned as well, like automatic writing which is a pretty good beginner way to jump in.
Just have a pen/pencil on paper, write what comes to mind. Its a good way to practice hearing and catching signs as well.
And something I will never stop saying is you don't have to take this journey alone! Especially if you don't want to. Find someone experienced to start this journey with. Someone who calms you, who can support you. Support and asking for help is good. Last thing any of us want is for you to get hurt or scared out of doing this if this is something you really want to do. So call us, talk to us. Confide in more experienced people.
So many times on this site and other places, we are begging to form this beautiful network so we can help one another, give advice, hang out etc.
We are right here, just reach out for us. You'll get a hand back in kind.

not every spirit/deity/entity that enters your space or makes themselves known wants to work with you
some of them are just passing by
some of them just want to be there to vibe
some might be lost
some might just be curious about you or what you’re doing
communicate, ask if they want/need anything, don’t make assumptions

Energy Work Fundamentals Energetic Senses The Subtle Body Divination: Introduction Researching Tips Altars Closed & Semi-Closed Practices Personal Narratives Witchcraft Vs. Superstition
Introduction
Spiritwork is, in my opinion, the one practice that shouldn’t be entered into lightly. Out of all practices, spiritwork has the most dangers if not practiced responsibly. It is also the most diverse subject within witchcraft. Many cultures have aspects of spiritwork and their own unique techniques for their workings. You’ll also be more likely to come across a lot of personal narratives that are spoken about as fact as well as people who use pseudo-spiritwork in order to manipulate others. Though, this typically happens in communities like Discord servers or one on one interactions. While it has become very commonplace for certain terms for spirits to be used, a lot of the time they aren’t used properly due to them being removed from their original context. This is most common in Ceremonial Magick circles. While the practice is extremely personal and super subjective, it is best to try to remain as objective as possible in your pursuits.
Vernacular & Culturally Significant Terms/Titles
For many, the use of terms like “Angels” and “Demons” is incredibly common. Even while many of these practitioners do not hold faith in any religions that contain these types of entities. This is likely due to their representations in media and the influence of practices such as Ceremonial Magick. It is important to research what terms are used within your own spheres of influence responsibly; or do as I do, which is create your own methods of spirit classification. To do this, spirits can be thought of as having five main characteristics: Sentience, Size, Age, Formation, & Personality. Sentience is really a scale that ranges between conscious and natural law. A lot of deities fall closer to natural law than conscious. Size has to do with the density or immensity of their energy. Age is relatively self-explanatory. I break up age into eras such as ancient, contemporary, medieval, infinite, etc. Formation has to do with how they were born or created. Thoughtforms as an example are formed through human thought. Some are created from earthly events, and some formed during the birth of the universe. Lastly, Personality is the most varied characteristic. I tend to use things such as “impersonal”, “Malicious”, “Benevolent”, “Tricky”, “Honest”, etc. I connect each of these characteristics to morphemes that synthetically form into words.
Identifying a spirit
Spirits can be difficult to identify. A lot of the time spirits are misidentified. In my experience human spirits are very rare in the wild and tend to only come when called to through ancestor work. The term “demon” is thrown around extremely haphazardly, while a majority of the time there is no spirit or another kind of spirit- most often a fae, aka nature spirit. The odds that you’ll come across entities from outside cultures is slim as they tend to be regional; at least within their original cultural context. Be sure to research the types of spirits that exist within your own cultural and theological context. When confronted with an unknown spirit, the first tool to turn to is your gut. It is very likely that you’ll be able to subconsciously process its energetic signature. However, intuition isn’t always accurate or detailed enough to properly identify a spirit. The most reliable way is through the energetic senses (See Suggested Reading). The energetic signature of every spirit is metastable, meaning that it will maintain its own energetic sovereignty regardless of environmental interactions. Feeling for metastability is the most reliable way to determine if a spirit is actually present. Unfortunately, identifying a spirit accurately through energy work goes past beginner friendly methods. A thorough breakdown of identifying spirits through their energetic properties will be covered in a later article.
Divination is a common and relatively reliable means of identifying a spirit, so long as it is done responsibly and mindfully. Be sure that when initially identifying a spirit that your divination isnt in communications with said spirit. I could help to sit down and associate different cartomancy cards with each type of spirit beforehand, or create a divination system that is dedicated entirely to spirit identification. Regardless, it is very important to then verify your own reading(s) through another practitioner who doesn’t know the complete context of the interaction. Be sure that your reading also covers if the entity is safe to interact with.
After the initial identification reading(s), whether energetic or divination based, it may then be safe to attempt to communicate with it directly. This communication may also be used to confirm any previous readings.
Verification
When verifying a spiritual entity or communication therefrom, it is important to double or triple check everything. Find some realizable practitioners outside of your normal sphere of interaction to get verification readings from. Some practitioners may be willing to trade readings or come to some sort of arrangement. Always do your own reading first and be sure to make note of the cards pulled and key words gleamed from the reading. Use these notes to compare to readings from other diviners. Here’s a chronological list of actions to take to try to verify a spiritual interaction:
Make note of any gut feelings or intuitions you have initially.
Perform a divination reading yourself, being sure to take notes of the results and key words.
If you know someone who is sensitive to spiritual entities and/or has trustworthy psychic abilities, ask them their opinion; giving details as necessary.
Go to another diviner and ask them to verify a spiritual interaction or spirit type. Do not give any specific details.
Go to a second diviner and repeat step 4.
Do one last reading for yourself.
Compare all the information and determine the most realistic outcome. Be ever aware of confirmation bias.
Communication
When communicating with a spirit or deity, it can be extremely helpful to use some psychic abilities. Some useful ones are Clairaudience, Claircognizance, and  Telepathy. These abilities are by no means necessary but can be extremely helpful.
Obtain a divination tool that is comfortable for you to use. For many, cartomancy is their go to, but it could also be something like scrying or cleromancy. Personally, I use a dedicated cartomancy deck for each of my individual deities, and I use a cleromancy tool for other entities. It could be helpful to take a part of a tool and give it a decided meaning that is separate from the part’s original meaning to use as a form of verification. You can also create a mechanic for this. An example of a mechanic could be a range of values for a set of dice. Like for a set of 5 D6’s, a sum between 13 & 23. For a cartomancy deck, drawing a major arcana within a 4 card draw could also be used. Things along this nature can help steer away from confirmation bias. Also using a means of verification can also be used as a way to check consent for the interaction.
When divining for communication purposes, it is important to understand the limitations of the tool you are using. Yes/No questions are best for coins or pendulums, where explanative questions are best with cartomancy and some types of cleromancy. Scrying can be used for all types of questions but is also the most susceptible to confirmation bias. Be sure to write down your questions and the responses you get along with the date they were asked to help verify information. Also be sure that all of your questions are clearly stated and not open ended.
Spirit-based witchcraft
Performing witchcraft with spiritual entities entails employing an entity to carry out or be a vehicle for a working. This is typically done through a ritual in which the practitioner petitions an entity to act on the basis of the working itself. Spirit-based witchcraft can be very useful when a taglock isn’t in hand or when there is a significant emotional reason involved. Spirits can also be employed for divination.
Safe Practice
ALWAYS get at least one outside opinion from another practitioner
NEVER trust someone who insists that it is a specific deity unprompted. Even when it is solicited, be sure to get another opinion.
Triple, quadruple, and quintuple check everything.
Eventually, your intuition will pick up on the patterns found in your interactions and will become more reliable.
Keep a piece of iron on your person whenever dealing with a spiritual entity.
Avoid offering hot things to spirits.
Keep notes and refer back to them every time there's an interaction.
More often than not, a lot of spirits, including deities, operate off of contractual structures. Be sure to confirm if this is the case and all contractual details if you do.
Refrain from working with an entity until you feel that you have properly identified them.
Take everything you read online about spiritwork with a very generous amount of salt. Even this article.
If someone starts acting like a deity is speaking through them for you or someone else, RUN.
If someone is acting as though they are {Insert spiritual entity here} incarnate, RUN.
Common Myths
Human spirits are common entities to run into.
All malevolent entities are demons.
Malevolent spirits lie in wait for unsuspecting people to misuse divination tools.
Making loud noises drives spiritual entities away.
Telling an entity to leave will make it leave.
Poltergeists exist.
Being of a given faith prevents an entity from interacting with someone.
Religious practices act as impenetrable wards against entities.
Disbelieving in spirits will prevent any from interacting with someone.
A deity will reach out to someone if they desire patronage.

Not the hottest take....really just me rambling my thoughts...
I wish there were more witch spaces that are UPG friendly? Obviously i know my experiences will not be universal with everyone else? And my relationship with deities and spirits will be vastly different than others and not always textbook. Honestly i just wanna share my silly little fun stories without the fear of being excessively ridiculed.
But while ill always refer back to the textbook for research because it's important, it just comes to a point where if you only equate all of spritiual and divine to just textbooks and only textbooks? It takes away the ability for said spirits and divinity to have individual personality. Or atleast become void of it. Meeting spirits to me is like meeting people. Youll never really know anything about them unless you take the time to get to know them. But this is just my own perspective. I dont expect anyone to agree with this.

Some witches (or people in general for that matter) have an animal who shows up time and time again throughout their practice and life. A recurring motif if you will. Some people like to call these spirit animals, but there's uhhhh a few pretty big problems with that but you get the idea. They are always something really badass or beautiful like wolves, butterflies, ravens, etc.
Well mine....are fucking chickens. I even had one crow during my very own initiation. One of the most sacred of magical moments and in the middle of absolute nowhere this chad of a rooster just goes OFF. Like....I appreciate the support and companionship but.....c'mon!
Someone should really make a little doodle or comic series about a witch showing up to a school where everyone has these amazing, diverse, respectable familiars and they have ....a chicken.

The Magical Girl Guide to: Floral Demons
Tumblr media
The last post of mine that was from my original blog that I remade was my selkie post, now I’ve finally gotten to remaking my post on floral demons.
Unlike my previous posts, this is all based on my own UPG and not a post that’s divided into known lore surrounding the species and then my personal experience working with them.
what is a floral demon?
As the name implies, floral demons are a specific variety of demons connected to flowers that came to be when plants first absorbed blood. Humanoid in appearance, the only non-human feature about them are their colorful hair and skin that represents the flower they are.
https://www.instagram.com/p/Bn6TxzZgpb7/ https://www.instagram.com/p/Bn3x2HaAaYv/ https://www.instagram.com/p/BnoQC7_F0PV/ https://www.instagram.com/p/BoMXoWig40j/
Take away the horns and the sprouting flowers, these illustrations are quite similar to the appearance of a Floral Demon. There is a condition among these demons where plants will sprout from their skin, but that is a disease similar to the chicken pox and is terribly uncomfortable. Their energy isn’t the darkest demon energy out there, but it can be heavy and cloyingly sweet. It can be overwhelming for those not used to it.
In places they frequent, plants tend to thrive and be more vibrant than usual.
floral demon culture and society
Compared to some cultures, Floral Demons consider themselves very non-traditional and open-minded. They live for themselves- their own pleasures and amusements.
Despite my cautioning of approaching Floral Demons without sufficient experience, they are a friendlier species of demon and tend to be interested in outsiders. One could even say that perhaps they are too interested and friendly, because as I’ve said, they have a history of spiriting away others to a point even other demons can be wary of them. But if you were to visit a Floral Demon establishment, you would be treated kindly by most individuals.
As a generalization, Floral Demons are expressive including in acts of physical affection and this is even extended to those they don’t know. It wouldn’t be out of the ordinary to even kiss a stranger on the lips upon first meeting for some, so you should let your boundaries be known.
Polygamy is practiced largely and widely among Floral Demon, regardless of gender. Men can have multiple wives and husbands and women can have multiple husbands and wives, even their spouses can have other spouses. Many of these large families of mothers, fathers, uncles, aunts, cousins, brother husbands and sister wives, live on their own territory on compounds and have their own internal politics as Clans. Not every Rose is from the same Clan however, so one shouldn’t assume that two Roses or Irises conversing are from the same Clan. However, it isn’t safe to assume that an Iris and Rose conversating aren’t from the same Clan whether as spouses, cousins, or siblings.
Although monogamy is in the minority of Floral Demon society, there are demons of this species that strictly commit themselves to one partner.
They are also appreciators of the arts. Many schools are dedicated to acting, singing, dancing, and even in the art of seduction for those whose line of work call for it. As I am told, these schools were founded by the Rose Demons. Therefore, if you are a sex worker or member of the LGBTQ+ community, you will find no discrimination here.
an interlude on the angelic equivalent
For those interested in plant-related entities but don’t feel called to work floral demons or rather feel like you don’t have enough experience to feel comfortable working with them, then I recommend reaching out to Florea Angels.
Florea Angels are non-Abrahamic angels that are connected to flowers and plants. I’ve worked with them in the past, two former companions of mine being pink rose and lavender florea angels respectively. They’re a lot more... quiet, so to speak, than their demonic equivalents with vastly different cultures and are definitely a lot more beginner friendly with light and airy energy that is easy to adjust to. As far as plant types, for the most part I would say if there is a Floral Demon version there’s a Florea Angel equivalent with few exceptions. For instance, there are Black Rose Demons but there aren’t any Black Rose Florea Angels.
types of floral demons
As there are many sorts of flowers out there, there are many types of Floral Demons one can encounter in the astral. Going in-depth as to every type of floral demon there is out there in one post would be impossible. The type of flower can even influence Floral Demon subcultures beyond general Floral Demon society. But I will give small summaries for a few species.
Dandelion Demons: connected to the dandelion flower, their appearances very from yellow to white and brown. Dandelion demons specialize in wish and prosperity magic and healing. Among floral demons, they are the least likely to spirit away a person.
Cherry Blossom Demons: a subspecies of floral demon that are private and tend to keep to themselves. Their population isn’t the biggest but they hold themselves regally. Glamours, energy work, and healing fall into their specialties.
Crocus Demons: youthful in appearance, most tend to underestimate Crocus Demons. In general, they’re a species good at maintaining and protecting territory. Due to their appearance, other species have a hard time discerning their age. As such, Crocuses rarely take partners out of their own kind.
Rose Demons: one of the most diverse species floral demons. While as a whole, Roses specialize in love and sex magic, a Rose Demon’s magical talents can vary depending on the type they are. Rose demon color varieties include White, Red, Pink, Peach, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Lavender and Black demons, all of which have varying specialties.
Other sorts of floral demons include, but are definitely not limited to:
Belladonna Demons Lily Demons Daisy Demons Clover Demons Poppy Demons Bird of Paradise Demons Lotus Demons Iris Demons Camellia Demons And many more
Among all the floral demon species, I caution anyone from casually approaching Lotus, Iris, and Camellia demons. I would even go as far to say to avoid them completely unless you are extremely experienced as a spiritworker. They are among the most likely to spirit away those they find interesting, and Irises in particular like keeping those they spirit away as pets.
Generally speaking, floral demons reflect only one flower and color when they are born. This is true even if their parents are two different types of floral demons. If a Pink Rose Demon and a Green Rose Demon were to have a child, that child will either be a Pink Rose or a Green Rose. The same goes for a Magnolia Demon and Jasmine Demon Couple.
[Pink Rose + Green Rose = either or Magnolia + Jasmine = either or]
This is how floral demon genetics tend to work 97% of the time.
But in rare cases, a child will be born that is a hybrid of both and their appearance will reflect both of their parents coloring. Think of the way a bicolor rose or variegated tulip look. These rare cases make up only 3% of the population and it’s quite rare. I’ve only met very small handful of demons like this. (In Florea Angels, these instances are even rarer I’ve noticed.)
suitable offerings
Obligatory disclaimer that this right here are merely general offerings a floral demon would like. Every floral demon is different and an individual so there will be things one likes and dislikes that another dislikes and likes respectively. That being said, should you find yourself working frequently with floral demons, you generally can’t go wrong with:
floral teas
wine (the good stuff)

how to gain the attention of a floral demon
1) old fashioned offerings
2) astral travel
3) spirit attraction spell
I’m not a promoter of conjuring or otherwise, forcefully bringing a spirit to your vicinity. Think about it like this: you’re at a wedding. You’re best friend in the entire world is getting hitched to the love of their life, and you’re among the audience. You’re welling up with emotion and pride for your friend to have made such an important milestone in their life when… Suddenly, you’re not at their wedding anymore.
No, instead you’re looking at some random stranger who summoned you to their home who say it’s because they’re interested in working with those of your kind. You wouldn’t be too happy about this, would you?
Not only is conjuring or summoning bad for the entity, it can be bad for you if this entity isn’t easily forgiving of being torn away from their personal life to your home and you can end up paying the consequences for it. Instead, I recommend a spell that attracts entities to your home or if you’re sufficiently prepared, astral travel it up.

I've got a theory about doorways. Doorways are liminal spaces, right?
Ever since I got a cat three years ago, I started leaving my bedroom door cracked so he can get in and out at night. It was when I started doing this that I began to catch wisps of movement and shadow in the corner of my eye through the door. Most the time I told myself my eyes were playing tricks on me - but at the same time, I just knew that there was a man in the hall, or just outside the door. I'd just hear it in my head. "There's a man there."
I saw this wispy shadow last night, and then again in the on-suite bathroom (also left cracked so kitty can use the litterbox). Again, I just knew it was "the man."
So I did some tarot readings this morning/afternoon about this "man" and I started to realize...if doors are liminal spaces, if some view them as portals...it almost feels like they are like hag-stones. Legend says if you look through the hole in a had stone, you can see the fae realm. I think my cracked bedroom door is no different; I can see into the spiritual realm.
Maybe I've hit nothing groundbreaking and just stated the obvious. Maybe this is an experience that's unique to me, or only a few. Either way, it feels like a tool I can use again when I want or need.

Things No One Tells You About Being a Spirit Witch
In no particular order:
In a lot of cases, you do not get to control your ears. You'll hear some shit and you just have to live with it.
You will ask is that tinnitus or the spirits a lot. It's okay, I'm sure we all do it.
Tumblr media
Negotiating with spirits is not nearly as cool as people think it is. You sound like a secretary/receptionist 210% done with their fucking job.
Sometimes, spirits are better people than the living. Good luck with that.
You don't have to change the way you speak as much as you think you do. Most of the time they will understand you.
Some spirits do hang around you just because. It's not a bad thing. Sometimes, they're just willing to chill.
Tumblr media
Spirits are there a lot more than you think they are. Even if you don't feel them.
Many don't respect your privacy, but also many do.
Shy spirits are hilariously frightening. Mostly because while they're trying to avoid you, they're fucking up stuff in the process that scares/startles others.
Formalities are great, but often not that needed.
Nearly every spiritual encounter is highly situational.
If you don't know how to roll with the punches/be adaptable to a certain degree, especially when it comes to spirit work, you're not going to have a good time.
Tumblr media
Spirits can be highly opinionated. You might be shocked on what you hear.
They warn you for a reason. It'd be wise to heed them.
Spirits are not fucking mind readers. You have to communicate with them too. They do not know what you want, even if they do talk in your head. Tell them what you fucking want from them.
The tea you can get from spirits....IMMACULATE

hey guys long time no speak! I have a question for my fellow witches. very occasionally i experience a sharp pain. like one sharp pain in my back. it's the same pain every time it happens it feels like someone has hit me with something pointy every time. I used to get it more often when i lived back home with my family, somewhere that definitely had signs of spirits. I haven't felt it in a while since moving out, it has happened occasionally though. me and my flat mate have experience occasional activity in our apartment. very rarely though. Last night i was at my boyfriends house watching a film, and i made a sarcastic comment about a priest on the screen, less than 5 minutes later the pain occured. the sharpness lasts about 30 seconds and then it burns/hurts after. Can you guys give me an opinion on this and if you have ever experienced anything like this? It's weird because i'd say it probably mostly occurs when i'm not practicing anymore. Like when i've had a long break. I've always been sensitive but in terms of practicing it has been halted for a while.
