ahh tyqin! she's my progen and a (the) central figure in my lore, which spans several time periods and multiple flights; she's from ancient times but continues to live on into the 'present' day, largely as a result of fucking with dark magic (most likely the shade, or maybe too much arcane magic, no one knows for sure; it made her all eldritchy and also Purble™) when she was a young cult member. she's power-hungry, manipulative, and has doomed several other dragons to a fate worse than death out of her own greed...generally Very Bad News.

kinda funny how fugaku calls itachi a kind child, and then 5 minutes later, itachi tortures his 7 year old brother.
fugaku: itachi, you truly are a kind child. take care of sasuke...
itachi: don't worry father, i will.
also itachi: tortures sasuke twice, manipulates and abandons him, and literally ruins his life.
fugaku, mikoto, and the entire uchiha clan:

Thank you for being willing to stand up for the wonderful writing in mdsz. It is amazing especially after you unexpectedly come across a post saying Wei Wuxian would be ecstatic to join Jiang Cheng in torturing demonic cultivator because it showed JC “cared”?
It’s the instinct of abuse apologists to attempt to absolve the object of their obsession of abuse by claiming that their victim is actually ok with the abuse. “Jin Ling loves it when Jiang Cheng insults him! It’s their love language!” they say to drown out all the moments Jin Ling yells back at Jiang Cheng for how he speaks to him and others, runs away from the man, and flinches—along with Fairy—from him at the very end when Jiang Cheng lifts his hand to smack the kid yet again.
“Wei Wuxian loves Jiang Cheng, and he’d be proud of the man’s actions!” they say as if we don’t have the proof of Wei Wuxian looking at the new Lotus Pier and leaving on the note of “i never want to return,” as if the Guanyin Temple arc concluding with Wei Wuxian turning his back on Jiang Cheng with no regrets isn’t followed up by the Lotus Pod Seeds extra where a teenage Wei Wuxian says that if Jiang Cheng wanted to be a caustic asshole, then he can settle for being alone for the rest of his life.
After a while of laughter, [Wei Wuxian] turned around and looked at Jiang Cheng, who was sitting at the front of the boat eating seed pods with a long face. His smile gradually disappeared as he sighed, “Well, what an unteachable child.” Jiang Cheng fumed, “So what if I want to eat alone?” Wei WuXian, “Look at you, Jiang Cheng. Nevermind. You’re hopeless. Just wait to eat alone your whole life!”
—Chapt. 125: Lotus Pod Seeds Extra, exr
And he was right.

Accidentally stumbled into a Sansa anti (well they call themselves an Arya stan but they apparently think those things go hand in hand)blog and am now baffled and a little disgusted at the amount of vitriol these people have for..a little girl, honestly they had reblogged a post about how Arya being believed to be a hostage to Ramsay galvanised so many people in the North, etc and the difference between that and Sansa being the Lannisters hostage/Tyrions bride, and like..so this little girls life being worthless to these men (whether that's true or not) is somehow validation for you? Honestly it's a little disturbing (there's also a pattern of most of them hating Alicent as well which seems..meaningful)
Ah, yes, the fantasy that they have that the North uniquely loves Arya and somehow instinctively rejects Sansa, and that this would be a good thing rather than screaming misogyny. 😊
There's exactly one group in the North agitating for Ned Stark's daughter herself (the one within reach of them, mind) and that's the mountain clans, for two reason:
Distant family loyalty, alongside Stark loyalty. (A Liddle also aids Bran in the mountains.)
A culture that encourages them to seek death, not survival, at this particular time where Stannis comes knocking.
His father's mother's mother had been a Flint of the mountains. Old Nan once said that it was her blood in him that made Bran such a fool for climbing before his fall.  (ASOS, Bran ll)
It was a tale that any northmen knew well. "My father's grandmother was a Flint of the mountains, on his mother's side," Jon told her. "The First Flints, they call themselves. They say the other Flints are the blood of younger sons, who had to leave the mountains to find food and land and wives. It has always been a harsh life up there. When the snows fall and food grows scarce, their young must travel to the winter town or take service at one castle or the other. The old men gather up what strength remains in them and announce that they are going hunting. Some are found come spring. More are never seen again." (ADWD, Jon X)
"Winter is almost upon us, boy. And winter is death. I would sooner my men die fighting for the Ned's little girl than alone and hungry in the snow, weeping tears that freeze upon their cheeks. No one sings songs of men who die like that. As for me, I am old. This will be my last winter. Let me bathe in Bolton blood before I die. I want to feel it spatter across my face when my axe bites deep into a Bolton skull. I want to lick it off my lips and die with the taste of it on my tongue." (ADWD, The King's Prize)
Let's not overtly romanticize the North. Manderly's money is on Rickon the son. There's a sizable faction actually supporting the Boltons (Dustin/Ryswell and Karstark). No one lifts a single finger for "Arya" until Jon gives Stannis the advice to gather support in the mountains with his army, and those are the ones with comparatively little to do but die and "bathe in Bolton blood".
The main aspect here is opportunity v. cost.
But more to the point, just as you point out, if it was Sansa that Jeyne was pretending to be, it would be the same. It's not the girls (within their actual reach) they specifically care for, it's Ned and House Stark.
The specific (small) subset of Sansa Anti/Arya stan that pushes these takes is, indeed, less interested in Arya, the actual books and the political dynamics therein, than they are in a distorted Cinderella fantasy where Arya is uniquely chosen and loved over Sansa. The rejection of Sansa is as central to that fantasy as the elevation of Arya, because the Mean Girl needs to be vanquished and punished in order to destroy the very notion in the world that Their Projection Surface was ever not The Prettiest And Bestest, deprived of the admiration she rightfully deserved by the cruel machinations of a middleschool bully.
You know, that's the complex philosophical, political and literary themes and interpersonal dynamics that GRRM is known for. 🤷🏻‍♀️

So from what I'm seeing we don't get to see Squilfstar get her 9 lives? Fuckin rude
They better give us a short story or bonus scene or something like they did for Bramblestar that shows her getting her 9 lives
Also why did just Alder go to the moon pool and not him and Jayfeather?

Usagi Yojimtober Day 23 - First meetings
At this point you all know I love Tomoe, but you know what I love more about her?? The way she doesn't hesitate to kick ass as soon as someone disrespects her!!
So I thought, what if instead of taking Usagi home in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to The Tournament", Katsuichi still take him to the tournament so he can apologize properly for his behavior?
And then, when they finally find Tomoe and her father Usagi tries to say sorry, but things don't go the way he wanted and both start fighting again.
This is my idea of fun!

You sound bipolar saying the hate the zenin clan did to maki was terrible etc....then trying to make mai a victim?!! she stayed there she's not a victim she's an abuser too.
Anon, are you just trolling or genuinely this mad about a fictional teenager who's canonically abused?
How is Mai even an abuser?? For being mad at her sister for a valid reason? Name one scene where she "abused" poor little meow meow saint Maki...This fandom comes up with a new bad take every day Istg…
If you read the manga Mai didn’t stay actually, she was FORCED to fight literal demons and put her life in danger because MAKI wanted to spite the Clan. While Maki did later on realize/remember her true purpose for fighting was for Mai, for a sec she kept saying her main objective was to spite the Clan. (Getting her vision clouded for a sec, sort of similar to how Toji kept looking for self validation) And not to mention she (Maki) literally broke the promise she made to Mai about staying with her. While Mai could've worded it better when she said Maki should've stayed down with her after their fight, it's understandable. They're BOTH abuse victims. One wants to spite the Clan and prove em all wrong by fighting curses (Maki) while the other just wants a normal peaceful life but was FORCED to put her life in danger. (Mai)
So if you’re going to be this pressed about Mai (a canon abuse victim by the Zenin Clan) you might as well hate Maki along with all the other flawed characters too 🙌🏻

is the curse of hatred a nature or nurture case? I definitely don't think all of the uchiha are prone to this, nor are all of the ones who fall into this probably under the curse of rheirr own will
Red Links are my own posts, Blue Links are posts belonging to other users or external links. Please read them - they add a lot of context.
That depends on what you believe Kishimoto intended when he wrote chapter 619 as well as your personal headcanons. I'll start with what Kishimoto most likely intended and then explain my own headcanon on the matter.
If you remember my previous posts about the Curse of Hatred, Tobirama, and Kishimoto's Intent, you might remember that I believe that Kishimoto likely intended for the Curse of Hatred to be real in canon - rather than a racist propaganda piece. As you might also remember, this raises a lot of red flags for me.
But yeah, Kishimoto probably unironically pulled the "evil fantasy race" card and there is likely an element of nature involved.
But now, let's also remind ourselves that not every Uchiha falls victim to the Curse of Hatred. As explained in my post about the curse of hatred, there are Uchihas actively rejecting any clinging to hatred. Furthermore, Obito frames it as a "nindo" which is a choice (or well, as much as it could possibly be a choice if you are influenced by the people around you) and could potentially be informed by the individual's culture. So that does also imply a nurture component.
But since Uchihas are capable of breaking free from the curse (and Uchihas who don't have strong ties to their clan), it stands to reason that the nurture component is stronger than the nature one.
Now, back to my own headcanon. Also in my post about Kishimoto's intent, I talked about "authorial intent" and how it shouldn't stop us from forming our own headcanons, as long as we retain awareness about the authorial intent (you know, to prevent making up lies and stuff).
My personal preferred headcanon in this is the idea that Zetsu intentionally messed with the Uchiha Clan's history as this is heavily supported by chapter 681 as well as Hagoromo's personal perception which places the reincarnation cycle at the centre of Madara's hatred.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In my post on the Curse of Hatred, I illustrated that the prejudice targeting Uchihas might have emerged thanks to Zetsu repeatedly driving Indra's reincarnates to war against Ashura reincarnates. After Konoha was founded, that prejudice developed into fear (thanks to Zetsu manipulating Madara, who manipulated Obito, who released the Kyubi) and set off a chain reaction of events. That fear caused the Uchiha clan to be targets of Konoha's leaders until they ended up killed, eventually leading to Sasuke swearing vengeance against the Leaf.
In my preferred interpretation, it is neither nature nor nurture but simply the target painted on the backs of Uchihas which took its origin in Zetsu.
