I made it to JJ.

I hurt my back afterwards, putting on my shoes.

It fucking hurts.

I went to an Escape Room for a friend's birthday.

We went to dinner at Longhorn. I have a lovely luxury dinner. I tried not to overeat but I was full when I left even though I boxed half my steak.

I brought the water in from the car when I got home. Put biofreeze on my back.

Realized I was halfway to 10k steps.

Gave myself a mental pass due to the back injury. Until a friend called for a gab session and I thought.... walk n talk.

I hopped on the treadmill. Slow.

When the call was over, I played a little pokemon & checked on my eggs.

Grabbed my book and read on the treadmill.

Long story to say.... I made it. I had the mental fortitude to do the thing today. With as wonky as everything else can be sometimes, today I pushed thru some obstacles while giving myself compassion and grace.

Also.... recommend the book "How to keep house while drowning." Touched on many things I never would have considered for adhd, coping, depression, etc.

I can’t stop thinking about the fact that Buck had arguably the best ending of season 7 - happy, healthy, had a home, had a boyfriend, had friends and family - while everyone else’s lives were in shambles, and then at the end of season 8, he’s homeless, no boyfriend, his friends and family barely notice that anything is wrong and are tired of him talking or trying to talk about his feelings, while everyone else has taken Positive Steps Forward and he is left behind.

i watched the time quangle before i watched neverafter and i remembered how pinocchio hinted he might have a bit of a crush on red, so i was looking for it during the campaign.

and there are a lot of really good moments you can build on, but i found a lot of it really was just from pinocchio's side as he seems to point out how cool ylfa is a fair amount: he says more than once that one of the first things she ever did was save his life, and after the jester bit he does, she makes that buoy of destiny joke and pinocchio talks about how much funnier she is than him. in return though, ylfa doesn't seem to really consider him overly much, always more preoccupied in her spare moments with authority figures or awestruck by older women like rosamund, or the princesses, or the baba yaga, or the fairy with the orange hat.

and then for her to drop in the very last five minutes of the entire campaign that she had a lil diary where she wrote "nocchi" in hearts around the name, and everyone had to take a moment to realize she meant pinocchio and not like, gnocchi the pasta or something, was hilarious. peak moment. perfect way to end it tbh. 😂😂 what a great campaign!!!

Hey so I’ve mentioned this a lot of times on my main blog, but I wanted to put this out over here since it is Hallow’s Eve. I always give out little tchotchkes on Halloween along with candy. This year, I’ve completely switched over to 100% doohickeys and doodads— think mechanical pencils, shaped erasers, little notebooks, squishes, vampire teeth and spiders rings and all. It started years ago in college when I signed up for a dorm Halloween event where kids from an area that was too dangerous to really trick or treat through got bussed in to trick or treat at our dorm. I bought some candy and dollar store Halloween themed stuff with what i had. And you know what the kids went ape shit over?

Motherfucking. Mechanical. PENCILS!!

These kids could not get enough of them. They literally went “PENCILS??!” I had never seen kids get so hyped up for pencils lmao. They were the first things to go. Candy is fleeting; the little pencils you can bring to school to flex are eternal, until you inevitably lose one of the refill parts and then they aren’t but listen, in that one moment they are infinite. And its nice thinking that maybe some kids who don’t always have access to school supplies not only get them, but get them in fun shapes and designs.

Anyway. I recommend people to give out fun stuff like this not just because kids seem to genuinely enjoy them, but also because there’s this thing called the Teal Pumpkin Project here in America. You can put out a teal pumpkin to show that you are giving away non-candy items and sign your address up so parents of children with allergies know that there are houses their kids can safely and happily trick or treat at! It’s a win-win! Plus, if you accidentally bought too much, it’s not like candy— just pack it away, pencils and fidget spinners will be good next year, too! :)

Any Boss who goes up against Wu Xie has to prepare more mooks than they would for any other mission and THEN some extra backup, not because Wu Xie is such an unstoppable killing machine, but because even at his darkest and most unhinged his basic setting is friendly and personable and he WILL do his level best to syphon away any of his enemies personnel by being nice to them.
