Okay, so I have actually been feeling like my dash is a bit dead especially during the week...which could also just be that I'm a bit busy lately and haven't been able to check it as much but even checking my fellow close mutuals blogs and show tags (a shock that I'm doing that I assure you) there hasn't been too much I have found to keep my queue full. So, I figured why not go back through some of my favs that I didn't give the extra love to over the last few months by doing this. Also, I've gotten a few new followers (hi, hello, welcome to the chaos) and figured why not possibly put some amazing things in front of y'all that you might have missed or not seen because you've come to us at this hellsite only recently.

Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR to lock horns during action sequences in April 2024 in Mumbai for War 2: Report

Ayan Mukerji conducted two schedules last year in Spain and Abu Dhabi respectively.

While Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff played sleek spies in the YRF action entertainer War, fans are excited to see the franchise return with the superstar headlining the cast. However, RRR fame Jr NTR and Kiara Advani have joined the cast, who will be essaying key roles in War 2. Now, the latest update on that front is that the film is going on floors in Mumbai in April 2024.

Ayan Mukerji conducted two schedules last year in Spain and Abu Dhabi respectively. Now, he is set to bring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR for an extensive schedule which will be action-packed. According to Mid-day, a source said, “Ayan and Aditya are pulling out all stops to make sure that the face-off is a spectacular sequence. The Telugu actor will join the shoot in April-end, after he completes Devara: Part 1. The producer-director duo have planned a nine-day schedule, during which the two actors will shoot the portion that will include hand-to-hand combat and martial arts. While this sequence will begin on a set in Mumbai, a part of it will be shot in an international locale.”

Before he locks horns with Jr. NTR, Hrithik Roshan will shoot his solo portions throughout April 2024. The source further said, “Hrithik’s entry scene will be canned at the start of the schedule. The makers have planned an equally massive action entry sequence for Jr NTR as well. Knowing that action will be the USP of War 2, Ayan and Adi have roped in 11 international stunt coordinators, including Steve Brown, Spiro Razatos, Nikita Rozenko and Miguel Juzgado, who worked on Rambo: Last Blood [2019].”

The film will be released around Independence Day 2025.

Bungaro in concerto a Torino

Dopo una lunga assenza, sabato 1 aprile alle 21 il cantautore Bungaro torna in concerto a Torino, nella suggestiva cornice del Teatro Juvarra, con il suo nuovo spettacolo,  Volevo volare con i piedi per terra, accompagnato da Marco Pacassoni al vibrafono, xilofono e percussioni. Al centro dello spettacolo c’è un bambino, Antonio Calò in arte Bungaro, che si racconta attraverso trent’anni di canzoni, ricche di cose che non ha mai detto e avventure a tratti incredibili da quando, a soli 9 anni, vinse il Festival di Sanremo dei ragazzi sul palco dell’Ariston. Infatti Antonio Calò,  in arte Bungarom  è un cantautore elegante che da oltre trent’anni scrive pagine importanti della musica d’autore italiana ed internazionale, inoltre ha un rapporto speciale con Torino, la città in cui ha trascorso la sua adolescenza e li ha frequentato l’Accademia di Chitarra, studiato al Teatro Nuovo e coltivato gli studi. Steve Ayan of Scientific American interviewed philosopher Peter Carruthers, who insists that the basis of all our thinking is unconscious, out of sight.

Steve Ayan: You call the process of how people learn their own thoughts interpretive sensory access, or ISA. Where does the interpretation come into play?

Peter Carruthers: Let’s take our conversation as an example—you are surely aware of what I am saying to you at this very moment. But the interpretative work and inferences on which you base your understanding are not accessible to you. All the highly automatic, quick inferences that form the basis of your understanding of my words remain hidden. You seem to just hear the meaning of what I say. What rises to the surface of your mind are the results of these mental processes. That is what I mean: The inferences themselves, the actual workings of our mind, remain unconscious. All that we are aware of are their products. And my access to your mind, when I listen to you speak, is not different in any fundamental way from my access to my own mind when I am aware of my own inner speech. The same sorts of interpretive processes still have to take place.

SA: Why, then, do we have the impression of direct access to our mind?

PC: The idea that minds are transparent to themselves (that everyone has direct awareness of their own thoughts) is built into the structure of our “mind reading” or “theory of mind” faculty, I suggest. The assumption is a useful heuristic when interpreting the statements of others. If someone says to me, “I want to help you,” I have to interpret whether the person is sincere, whether he is speaking literally or ironically, and so on; that is hard enough. If I also had to interpret whether he is interpreting his own mental state correctly, then that would make my task impossible. It is far simpler to assume that he knows his own mind (as, generally, he does). The illusion of immediacy has the advantage of enabling us to understand others with much greater speed and probably with little or no loss of reliability. If I had to figure out to what extent others are reliable interpreters of themselves, then that would make things much more complicated and slow. It would take a great deal more energy and interpretive work to understand the intentions and mental states of others. And then it is the same heuristic transparency-of-mind assumption that makes my own thoughts seem transparently available to me.

Recent research indicates that conscious and the unconscious processes do not usually operate in opposition. They are not competitors wrestling for hegemony over our psyche.

They are not even separate spheres, as Freud’s later classification into the ego, id and superego would suggest.

Rather there is only one mind in which conscious and unconscious strands are interwoven.

In fact, even our most reasonable thoughts and actions mainly result from automatic, unconscious processes.

A revolutionary, and now widely accepted, countermodel to Freud’s scheme goes by the term “predictive mind.” 

The theory comes in different flavors, but overall it holds that automatic processes play a central role in the mind, allowing us to predict events quickly and accurately as they arise. 

Learning, experience and consciousness constantly improve our implicit, or unconscious, predictions, and we take note of events only when the predictions fail.

That is, we become conscious of circumstances when they merit our attention.

This automaticity enables us to function smoothly in the world, and becoming conscious when predictions fail enables us to avoid the pitfalls of automatic processing and adjust to changes in our environment.

In a simplified example, unconscious processes predict the trajectory of a ball tossed to us and adjusts our limb motions accordingly.

Conscious processing would become engaged, however, if the ball took a sudden right-angle turn. (…)

In the final analysis, Solms and Friston assert, predictive errors equal surprise equals consciousness; when things do not work as expected, we get consciousness—a state the brain tries to limit. (…)

When I put a picture of my loved ones on my desk to fuel my motivation for work or when I take the stairs instead of the elevator,

I am steering my unconscious mind, recognizing that its desires for leisure and rest do not serve my best interests at the moment.

And the fact that I am able to do this shows that the conscious and the unconscious are partners rather than opponents.”

One of my favourite memories from Calgary Expo was when Tennyo Celeste and I went to say hi to Jim Zub to get our Wayward comics signed, and he remembered us! Neither of us were in cosplay, and we hadn't said anything about us being the Rori and Ayane he met last year at Calgary Expo! This is one of the many reasons I love cosplay. It's even more memorable when you meet the creators. Seeing their reactions to the work put into a cosplay reminds me why I love this hobby so much.

Peter Carruthers, Distinguished University Professor of Philosophy at the University of Maryland, College Park, is an expert on the philosophy of mind who draws heavily on empirical psychology and cognitive neuroscience. He outlined many of his ideas on conscious thinking in his 2015 book The Centered Mind: What the Science of Working Memory Shows Us about the Nature of Human Thought. More recently, in 2017, he published a paper with the astonishing title of “The Illusion of Conscious Thought.” In the following excerpted conversation, Carruthers explains to editor Steve Ayan the reasons for his provocative proposal. What makes you think conscious thought is an illusion? I believe that the whole idea of conscious thought is an error. I came to this conclusion by following out the implications of the two of the main theories of consciousness. The first is what is called the Global Workspace Theory, which is associated with neuroscientists Stanislas Dehaene and Bernard Baars. Their theory states that to be considered conscious a mental state must be among the contents of working memory (the “user interface” of our minds) and thereby be available to other mental functions, such as decision-making and verbalization. Accordingly, conscious states are those that are “globally broadcast,” so to speak. The alternative view, proposed by Michael Graziano, David Rosenthal and others, holds that conscious mental states are simply those that you know of, that you are directly aware of in a way that doesn’t require you to interpret yourself. You do not have to read you own mind to know of them. Now, whichever view you adopt, it turns out that thoughts such as decisions and judgments should not be considered to be conscious. They are not accessible in working memory, nor are we directly aware of them. We merely have what I call “the illusion of immediacy”—the false impression that we know our thoughts directly.

What do the characters from DA:EA voices sound like? (Sorry couldn't think of a better way to phrase it)

Well, I have some ideas for what I have in mind for English and Japanese, also spoilers cut below;

Isamu - I was leaning towards Yuri Lowenthal for english while the Japanese, I was going along the lines of Bakugo from BNHA or Karma from Assassination Classroom.

Masa - A smarter and less vulgar Miu Iruma in english while in Japanese, if going with the joke of the main character being voice by the opposite gender then Aoi Shouta is my choice.

Reiji - Matthew Mercer, so I guess picture Yusuke from Persona 5 if you want, while Japanese I pick Mayo Suzukaze.

Chika - Caitlin Glass for english so picture Haruhi from Ouran, while Japanese, Maaya Sakamoto.

Uta - I’m more towards Rebecca Shoichet when she voice Ms. Cheerlie from MLP but maybe younger, while Japanese version I’m going with Maria Naganawa.

Yoshi - Kyle Hebert so picture a more confident but lower pitched Kazuichi or Kaito, while Japanese I’m leaning towards Rica Matsumoto so picture an older sounding Ash from Pokemon.

Guido - Steve Blum for English while Japanese it’s Suwabe Junichi.

Toshiro - J Michael Tatum I mean, it fits. While Japanese version I’m going with Midorikawa Hikaru.

Mayumi - Grey Griffin or a much more nicer and active Vicky from Fairy Odd Parents or Daphie from Scooby Doo, Japanaese I’m going with Ayane Sakura so think Ochako in the Japanese version.

Kinu -  Cherami Leigh so Patty from Soul Eater, while Japanese I’m going with Pikachu so in this case it’s Ikue Otani.

Estu - Cristina Vee so pretty much Homura from Madoka Magica while Japanese it’s Noto Mamiko since Enma Ai from Hellgirl couldn’t be more fitting.

Hansuke - Nolan North for english, while Takahiro Sakurai for the Japanese version.

Momoko - Carrie Savage in english while Japanese it’s probably a much more friendly and upbeat Kirumi, so Kikuko Inoue.

Seiichi - I go with Vincent Tong for him so think Touta from Death Note, while Japanese it’s Marina Inoue.

Yokoyoko and Kojikoji - yes, both twins gets this spot since in the Japanese version a joke is that they tend to swap clothes and roles, so for this Romi Park for the Japanese version while English - Kojikoji I picture a much higher pitch Teruteru and Yokoyoko is Martha Harms.
