Found this awesome flow for prepping for vasisthasana which you can totally do on your forearm or knees if the full variation is too demanding! By the way, it can be awesome to generally think of poses that you can't do as "too demanding" instead of thinking that you are not good enough to do them! Hard poses just require elements of which you are not ready to give - once you are ready you will totally give the pose what it requires of you! Until then, respecting yourself and your limits, respecting the resources that you have and how to delegate them! H a n d s t a n d s There's been a shift in the handstand technique over the last many years which has been really interesting to follow! When my dad did gymnastics, he was told to "arch like a banana" in his handstands. Yoga handstands often had this approach too (I've been in loads of classes that still teach this) The shift has been towards a finer line! A straight line, that demands quiet a lot of shoulder flexibility and body awareness. In the wake of the whole movement wave, a lot of gatekeepers have also turned up, discouraging people from doing handstands if they can't do them "correctly"! I think that whoever charges into the world of handstands will find and adopt these techniques when they are ready, it is our job as teachers to offer the knowledge that they are there, to be used when the student is ready, not overseeing the individual and their journey behind the quest to get them into a straight line! Got some issues popping up in my body which I would like to address, but also just connecting with myself, cause things have been moving fast lately and I'd like to slow them down! I'm gonna do some prehab (balance board, Thera bands etc) foam rolling, meditating, restorative yoga and of course a lot of good fooding and coffee drinking!
