Benefits of Using a PVC Card Printer for Your Business
Tumblr media
From corporate offices to educational institutions and healthcare facilities, PVC cards, often called plastic cards, have become an integral part of our daily lives. But have you ever wondered how these PVC ID cards are created? Businesses worldwide are discovering the benefits of PVC cards. Due to their smooth surface, they require printers other than traditional consumer-grade inkjet or laser printers. For example, a large company needed a better way to manage employee IDs and ensure security. By using PVC card printers, they could quickly create custom IDs with employee details and company logos. These cards made controlling who could enter different areas of their buildings easier, boosting security and making everyone feel more connected to the company.
Benefits Across Industries
Customization and Branding: PVC card printers enable businesses to customize cards with logos, colors, and personalized details, reinforcing brand identity and professionalism across all sectors.
Enhanced Security: Advanced security features like magnetic stripes, RFID technology, and biometric encoding ensure secure access control, protecting sensitive information and assets.
Operational Efficiency: By allowing on-demand card production, PVC card printers streamline administrative processes, reduce dependency on external vendors, and minimize operational disruptions.
Cost Effectiveness: Internalizing card production with PVC card printers reduces outsourcing costs, minimizes waste, and ensures timely card replacements, optimizing resource management.
Environmental Sustainability: PVC card printers support eco-friendly practices by reducing plastic waste through efficient card production processes and promoting digital record-keeping.
In conclusion, PVC card printers serve as versatile tools that enhance operational efficiency, security, and sustainability across diverse industries. Whether used for employee identification, student access, patient management, or customer engagement, PVC cards play a pivotal role in modern-day business operations. Embracing PVC card printers improves organizational workflows, reinforces brand integrity, and supports sustainable business practices. By investing in PVC card printers, businesses can elevate their operational standards and foster lasting connections with stakeholders in today’s competitive market.

the two biggest pieces of advice that i would express to anyone thinking about grad school are
1) do not pay for grad school. i am dead serious on this one. this was the number one thing every single professor i had in undergrad expressed to me. going to a grad school that doesn’t offer tuition remission or teaching or any type of funding so you can complete the work you need to do is not worth going into debt for don’t do it don’t do it don’t do it because—
2) besides the obvious (the degree) grad school offer you two things (ideally they offer both); training or access. by training i mean rigorous high level hands on practice honing your skills in your chosen field; by access i mean connection to people/institutions/funding to help support whatever work or research you’re doing. (i think that at least in the arts broadly speaking, it is easier to find training than it is to gain access.) i think it’s extremely important to weigh out what you’re getting out of a specific program and decide not only what is more important to you but also what opportunities a school is offering you

the other thing about being disabled in academia is everyone is like "yeah we can't do much about the buildings they're old :/" as if "old" being a synonym for "inaccessible" isn't just a constant reminder that the people who built the school did not imagine that someday someone like me might study there

Disabled people (both people with physical disabilities and people with psychological disabilities) should be able to get housing, food, medical needs, etc met without having to work or stay in school. ...Okay, really, everyone deserves access to free or affordable housing, food, and medical care, but disabled people ESPECIALLY deserve it because if I, a law student with "low support needs" autism, depression, GAD, OCD, and ADHD, cannot afford to take a break from school and take a semester off because I'd have to start repaying my loans because I had to drop down to three credits last fall and because I would have to get a job, so it wouldn't really be a break (which, I have had one job in my life, and I'm not fully convinced it wasn't a fluke, and also, trying to maintain a job when you have disabilities is difficult), I can only imagine that disabled people with higher support needs are even more fucked than me when it comes to being able to get housing and food and medical care without much, if any, funding.
Yes, Medicaid, Medicare, Food Stamps, and housing programs exist in the US, but, uh, I hate to break it to y'all, but that doesn't fully fix the problem, at all. There are a lot of old apartment complexes that are straight up inaccessible if you use a wheelchair. I'm living in one now. Applying for Medicaid and other programs can be a pain in the ass, especially when you're disabled.
"Just live with your parents!" My parents were emotionally abusive and emotionally neglectful, transphobic, and they literally harassed me so much during my 1L year that I still have nightmares.
"Live with a roommate!" I tried to. It went fucking terribly.
"Are you really disabled if you're able to be in law school?" YES. YES I AM.
Actually, on that note, law schools and the law profession need to become more accommodating for disabled people ASAP. Buck v. Bell needs to be overturned. Courts should be wheelchair accessible. Having to get past seven plus different forms of ableism just to graduate and pass the bar is ridiculous. Seriously, can we get some resources for disabled people in law school and the law profession, please?
Disabled rights matter, and we have every right to be able to live in peace and get our needs met, regardless of our support needs, disabilities, or anything else.

Rose for the Lady - George Weasley x fem! Reader
(Rose for the Lady - George Weasley x fem! Reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Muggle-born students have really made Valentines Day take off at Hogwarts
Sixth-years were selling roses as a fundraiser and coming around to people during meals in the Great Hall to promote the fundraiser and take sales.
Susan Bones came over to where you and your friends were sitting.
“Roses for the lady?” they gestured to the twins (likely because you were sitting in between the both of them, something that always happened unless the twins were trying to be mischievous towards someone. But what could you say? The three of you were really close. You were close with Lee, too, of course. But the twins understood you.
Lately, Hermione and Ginny have been insisting that George is into you. You keep telling them that it’s hogwash and you’re just friends.
“For now. ~” is all they keep saying in response.
But this should prove your point. If he liked you, he'd buy roses for you from him. Not roses from the both of them, joking around with you like they always do. Roses from George specifically. And he won’t do that. He’ll either say no thanks or they'll both make of small show of presenting you with flowers as their mysterious and wonderful rendezvous lover. Or something like that. They get really creative with these impromptu stories.
What happened next, however, only proved Ginny and Hermione to be more credible.
“Yeah, I'll take a rose, thanks,” said George to [the sixth year]. Your eyes widened. You could feel Hermione and Ginny share a glance and a smirk. You looked at George like he’d become the next Nearly Headless Nick. “Here you go, for you.”
“You're joking.” you insisted, staring at the rose, your eyes wider still.
“No, really. For you, Beautiful.” Maybe all those times he called you “Beautiful” weren't just him messing around. I mean he made it clear that he really did think you were beautiful and not just kidding, but you still thought he was just teasing or playing around when he called you “Beautiful” as though it were your name. Of course you teasingly called him “Handsome” back. He was handsome, of course -really handsome when you think about it- but you didn't mean it like that. You just meant it like friends do. Unless… were you more than friends? Maybe he did mean it like that. And if he did, is that so bad?
You didn't think so, but you still needed to sort out how you felt. While it felt like ages had passed in your head, it had only been a few seconds in real life. A few seconds of you flat out staring at George while he smiled patiently —maybe admiringly too, when you thought about it— and everyone else stared at the two of you. Seamus looked like he was going to say something, but Dean nudged him and he stopped before he even started.
“I…” you didn't know how to react “I need to go! See you guys!” And with that, you exited the Great Hall as quick as you ever had.
In the hall, you thought to yourself. Confused, but also… in disbelief to be quite honest.
“‘I need to go?!’ ‘See you guys?!’ Seriously?!” You thought aloud to yourself. Sure, you weren’t sure how you should’ve responded. But you had a feeling it certainly wasn’t… whatever that was!
Back in the Great Hall, things were at a standstill.
Everyone sat there, confounded. What just happened? George himself not only looked confused, but also worried. Had he done something wrong? Did he upset you? And, whether or not he did, are you ok? He had to find out. He had to find you. Unscrunching his eyebrows, and with a decisive nod of his head, he decided what he needed to do. He left the table and set out to find you. Everyone else at the table sat there and waited for the drama to unfold. Not in a toxic way, of course, but their friends were oblivious idiots sometimes and they could appreciate that. Either Ron and Hermione or Ginny and Harry were sure to be next. Dean and Seamus had already gotten together. Somehow the two boys were the least oblivious of the group.
Back in the corridors, George found you.
You didn’t see George but you heard someone turning the corridor behind you and you knew it was him as he came further up the hall to you. You could feel it. And he was walking fast to find you quickly, but not running so he wouldn’t miss you.
“Hey! Wait up!” George called out to you. He had finally found you, wandering the halls. Something you always did when you couldn’t figured something out. The last thing you could do when you were like that —feeling stuck and restless in body and mind— was sit still. You once did two full laps around Hogwarts. Which doesn’t sound like a lot but becomes a bit of a massive venture when you consider the sheer size of the place, let alone the moving staircases and other magical features.
George had caught you. But you hadn’t figured everything out yet! You needed to figure things out before you talked to him! Or was it… vise versa? Did you need to talk to him in order to figure things out? But still, you didn’t feel ready. Despite your fight-or-flight feeling, you stopped in your tracks when you heard him call out to you. With his insanely long legs, it didn’t take him long to catch up to you where you stood. You didn’t turn around though, you just stood there.
“Hey,” he said sensitively but insensitively, placing a hand on your shoulder as he walked around to talk to you face-to-face. “Are you alright? Did I do something wrong?” You wouldn’t take your eyes off the floor.
“No. I just-“ You were fidgeting with your hands.
“Hey,” he said softly, placing his other hand on your empty shoulder and squeezing softly. “It’s ok. You don’t have to worry around me. Now, tell me what’s up. If you’re ready, that is.” He released your shoulders and then he waited patiently. Like he always does. God, he’s perfect. He always has been and thinking that he likes you like that, it makes your head spin and your heart light.
You took a deep breath, steadying yourself, and then you asked him.
“Do you like me?”
He smiled softly and gave a bit of a breathy laugh. But before you could stress about whether that was a good or a bad thing he responded.
“Of course I like you. Wouldn’t hang around so much if I didn’t, now would I?” This prompted a smile out of you “Now, if you’re asking me whether or not I’m in love with you…” he paused and your heart stuttered, “I’ve been in love with you for two years.” His eyes poured beautifully into yours.
“You… really?” You couldn’t believe it.
“Yeah, really!” He said in a loving, mocking tone. “So what do you think of that, Beautiful?” he asked, reaching his hand out to you to give you the option of taking it.
“I think, I like it,” you said taking his hand with a goofy, adorable smile.
“To feed your ego or your heart?” he teased.
“What ego?” You questioned with feigned ignorance. He laughed. “My heart, of course. I think I love you.”
“You think?!” he asked, smiling with his semi-feigned incredulousity.
“I’ve only just found out, George! Give me some time to settle into it!” You both laughed.
“I’ll give you all the time in the world and then some for whatever you need.” He said with love dripping from his voice. You could tell he was genuine and it made you smile. You leaned into him and he wrapped his unoccupied arm around you.
“That sounds good to me.”

its awesome how i said this to my department the entire time everybody else was using checker tools to 'detect ai' and accuse students of having plagiarised constantly and i got pilloried for pushing back against it and everybody and their mother had to have 72 opinions about how its actually super elitist of me not to expel students using ai (because im clearly only coming at this from my privileged educational background where learninf to write was easy and im failing my poor students by not taking them to task every opportunity <- real argument i have had to have multiple times) and now the university itself says it and the default use of these stupid unreliable checker tools is probably so entrenched none of these ppl will stop anyway 👍

spending every day at work helping a third grader struggle through kindergarten-level books because she has trouble with phonics but wants so badly to read and has so much passion and potential, even though she's embarrassed by her reading level. then coming home and going on tumblr and seeing post after post of "audiobooks don't count as reading" "adults who read YA are cringe" "fanfiction doesn't count as reading" "this booktoker who admitted to skipping long paragraphs shouldn't read books at all if she doesn't do it the only way i think reading is allowed to be done" "if you only care about dialogue stop reading books and go watch a movie".
all i can say is that the people having fun reading aren't the ones who should be embarrassed of themselves.

Fucking funniest thing is, the FBI seizes any links that lead to the genuine Z-Library, but without fail leave up all the scam ones that pretend to be fundraising for Z-Lib.
Anyway, if you have a Z-library login and use it on any z-lib link that ends .is, .io, .to babes you're being scammed! Check the security of the email address you've used and also if you're reusing that particular password anywhere, change it ASAP. If you have made a transaction, block it PRONTO!
Z-lib exists on the concept of free access to books, you have previously been and will always be allowed a limited download of 3 (or 5 or 10) downloads a day, depending on whether you have an account or have made donations.
See, Z-library has fundraised in the past, but they will never cut off your access for not donating. Do you know how much IP law-related trouble they'd be in if they were explicitly charging for access to books that the US legal system already views as 'stolen'?
There are a few ways of accessing them now, most are through torrenting (need help? Reddit or Telegram apparently), many of the regular browser web URLs have been seized.
When in doubt, do not click. Trust your instincts if you feel anything is off. If you're unsure about a z lib link, try a libgen mirror or something else instead.
Posting this here because I know a LOT of readers, students, broke folks that would like access to books, other folks with geographical barriers; basically a lot of folks who might potentially use something like Z-Library. So FYI and heads up, stay safe out there. Change that password! (And feel free to reblog this, again for aforementioned reasons)

Elevators should be in working order and available for use. Period.
I am a Studio Art major meaning most of my work and supplies are in the campus art building. None of my classes are on the first floor, meaning that as a disabled student, I have to have full-time access to the elevator to both get to class and do work outside of class. So why is it that I find myself stuck on the first floor for the second day in a row with an elevator that won't respond with not even a notice saying it is/would be out of order and no clue when I'll be able to use it again?
Accessibility should be the standard. Not just an afterthought.
