His one saving grace is that he knows for a fact that he is not this oblivious. Not that it matters anyways because no one likes him like that.

Wei Wuxian makes a strangled sound but the one who he normally hides behind when he sees a dog is now a dog, and it’s sending a lot of conflicting signals throughout his brain.

Fresh from the Abyss and having just gained a seat of power in the Demonic Empire, Luo Binghe arranges for a marriage between himself as the Heavenly Demon Lord and Shen Yuan as a representative of Cang Qiong. It will be perfect, and Shen Yuan will love him and the marriage just as much as Luo Binghe does, because there is no reason for Shen Yuan not to love Luo Binghe just as much as he had when Luo Binghe was just a human servant of Cang Qiong.

It will be so good, in fact, that Luo Binghe decides to make it a surprise - so Shen Yuan comes to the Demonic Empire having no clue that his fiance is Luo Binghe at all.

Nyoomerr is one of my favourite authors in the SVSSS fandom for how they write the relationship between LBH and SQQ, they really capture that angsty miscommunication that hurts both of them without it feeling forced.

Ah Fangxin in the coffin T-T Xie Liannnn... It's interesting they're... setting up for Hua Cheng's birthday? O.o Are they that confident they'll get to that (please be that confident, please!!)? Or just thinking "we get this in while we can in case there isn't enough"? Or just explaining why Xie Lian isn't getting out? It's a pretty (and sad) scene. And another Xiao Mengyou scene!! My favorite trope for SVSSS fics is when SQH lacks self-confidence/worth and, let’s be honest, has depression. It feels like it adds so much more depth to this character.

When writers have it so that we know he created this world but has such little regard for himself. Where he’s written to see himself as a disloyal coward—sure, he spied on the sect and yeah, he’d run from a fight—but he forgets that he almost died for Mobei-Jun. That he helped Shen Yuan with his plant body. That he gave LBH that terrible yet effective advice. I like reading that SQH is reliable when to really counts. (And he’s also a total badass but that’s a different post.)

I love fics that pick up on that. Like, seriously, give me that angst.

hmm i don't ever touch anything that isn't a happy ending, so i don't think anything i've read is actually as tragic & angsty as anything you could think of, if it's something you specifically go out looking for 😂

not really? i mean there are times i've been deep in a character's head and gotten emotional but these bad boys are all chess pieces to me. i just move 'em around. i think the closest i've gotten to being actually upset by my own writing was something that i can't find in my writing tag on tumblr and i never posted to ao3 oops!! here's the link (tlj & zzl zombie au) it wasn't the content of the ficlet itself that made me upset, it was just that i was thinking a lot about zzl dying in that specific au and i became sad :(
