You know what I think would be fun to see in fandom? Cass using an assistive communication device. Toting around her little AAC tablet that speaks with Bab's voice, or maybe Bruce's or Tim's, and it would totally be in line with her difficulty learning languages before she got zapped. Later when she does have speech I can imagine her getting fatigued by it and pulling out the tablet again. I bet she'd have a whole page/tab dedicated to cussing people out. (Steph and Tim proly helped her make it)

I don't know much about AAC tablets but honestly that could be cool!! Considering AAC tablets have visuals on them, particularly pre-zapping (pre issue #4) it could have genuinely helped. I DO think more people should write issue 4 canon divergent stuff, Puckett and co. scrambled to find a way to make Cass talk without I think considering the implications of having some random guy zap her (without permission) to think in English.

I think this is also much more realistic than her learning to sign, since ASL is its own language whereas this is about assisting people with language disabilities in general. Again I'm not that knowledgeable about AAC tablets so there may be some things that don't fit Cass' specific disability, but it's a cool idea to work with and definitely something fandom should consider more!! Thanks for the ask!!

(If Cass were picking a voice, particularly early days, I 100% think it would be Babs over Bruce or Tim. In fact you could do a lot of cool analytical things with her choice of voice in a fic!)

Thinking long and hard about a line from the Vault-Tec Rep to the Sole Survivor in Fallout 4 in conjunction with Cooper and Barb:

"I had to get to the future the hard way. I had to live through all the filth. The decay. The bloodshed."

I think about Cooper and Barb being reunited post-war a lot, because it's pretty clear to me that him finding Janey would also mean him finding Barb. It would be incredibly ugly if you ask me; he's had literal centuries to ruminate on his hatred for Vault-Tec and the vitriol he has towards Barb for her involvement in everything that happened. Needless to say, he wouldn't exactly be happy to see her (if, say, they were both frozen in Vault 31).

But...secretly he's also envious that Barb didn't have to suffer for decades on end, or scratch out a meager existence in the world she advocated so passionately for. Didn't have to spend two centuries without their daughter. No, she got a nice two hundred year long nap, and he experienced years of pain and loss and was slowly turned into a living zombie by the radiation.

Granted, I think he might still feel a little sympathy for her as he watches her come to terms with what the world is really like...but there would also be a more than generous dose of schadenfreude.

The fighter layer was originally just called “the 4th layer” because no one really knew what to call it. They, however, took fighting and turned it into a culture of theirs; they’d host these big shows where you could watch people fight, like boxing, and draw in people from the layers above (people from lower layers would get daily passes)

It’s why Seawatt knows about brewing stands, as well. Part of the art was using brewing stands at just the right point to heal your opponent, drawing the battle out, while keeping them at as weak as you can for as long as you can.

Similarly to this, the master layer developed parkour as a dance. Adding little flourishes and shit to your moves originated there. They had ballrooms and shit, too, but only masters were allowed to go😔 anyways Emf used to be a dancer, and they weren’t there when Evbo got there because Evil Champion is evil and took them away ig.

I think the most prominent theory I’ve seen is that it’s because one of the TMI characters die. I AM a believer that none of them will die in TWP! Call me delusional but I have valid reasons!!

Clary —> Cassandra Clare’s baby girl

Simon —> Cassandra’s self insert of her husband (his last name, lewis is literally Cassandra’s married name… I’m onto u Judith)

Magnus & Alec —> people will literally burn her house down

Jace —> without him = no Clace, Cassandra sad.

Izzy —> uhm I don’t rlly have a valid reason for her, only that she doesn’t rlly have an relationship with any of the TWP for her death in this series to be impactful.

So yes I am a believer that no tmi cast mates are dying!! Stop this nonsense! No one jump me, but Cassandra never kills off REALLY main characters. Max, didn’t rlly get anything of him. Kit?? Ehhh kind of, but again, not a lot of page time for him. LIVVY is where things start to shift- but again- not a main character. And Nate & Benedict died in TID like who even cared

Okay but onto what I think it could mean. I don’t have a prominent theory with evidence or anything if such BUT I don’t think it has something to do with hell in particular. The last TEC book we got was also set in hell for a bit, and was a main focus. And we also know TMI gang LOVE hell in general (yeah… I know what you did in that cave.) and since we know in TWP Lucifer is meant to be a main villain of such —> we can deduce that something will happen in hell during twp.

The TMI cast is like the avengers of the shadowhunter universe. We know if anything bad happens there on it. So yeah, I do think whatever she’s implying it’s because there going to hell!! Bit because of any deaths <3333

I honestly think there is no way cassie would ever do this to us, kitty and tsc fans. like she would not make us wait literally years (!!!) and tease us about a ship only to make them have a love story that ends tragically or bitter sweetly. and if she did do that, then i would be so incredibly disappointed. not being funny but that ship is my life and if she ever did that i would ever ever ever get over it. but i trust cassie <3

do you have an idea where the "riddler and mad hatter are close friends" thing even came from? at least him and scarecrow interact occasionally, even if it usually is less "close friendship" and more "jon is mean to eddie and eddie tries to strangle him for it", but i don't even remember any interactions ed had with jervis aside from ed kidnapping and maybe torturing him during the last batman arc

obligatory reminder that most of my knowledge comes from preboot, so if there's any major post-flashpoint interaction between them then i probably havent seen it - though i doubt there is lol. i am almost certain the entire concept of the riddler, scarecrow, and mad hatter being friends stems from Arkham Asylum: Living Hell, where nigma and crane are cellmates and the 3 of them sit at a lunch table together (they dont talk though lol) and Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #142, where their cells are next to each other and they narrate batman's investigation while insulting one another.

crane and tetch have worked together in other things (ofc most iconically TLH), and crane and nigma have a few other conversations together (off the top of my head: Dead Reckoning in tec, and also some various asylum centered things), but im fairly certain those are the only interactions nigma and tetch actually have pre-flashpoint 😭 i think the idea of them getting along is pure fanon from people wanting to make the 2 of them a friend group with crane for some reason

I do, in fact, have headcanons and here they are

noir has black blood and webbing! (Which is something he should had have in spiderverse)

his glasses also completely obscure his eyes if he’s not trusting/alert/working mode but clear up when he’s chilling

doesn’t really matter all too much since he’s really expressive around people without his mask on which is a trait that Peter b shares

noir and peni don’t really quip like how miles or Peter does but luckily ham talks enough to carry all three of them

I love play around with the idea that their universe’s trademarks follows all three of them but in more random ways

The sky is a perfect clear blue and flowers sprout when ham’s singing in the morning and walking around New York. One of those “it’s a beautiful day today” songs

sunsets are the prettiest when peni is also there. It’s an intense yellow-orange with dark clouds rolling in the sky

Rain comes whenever noir is doing a angsty introspective monologue but he could literally just monologue about anything and rain will come his he pulls out all the stops

The wind seem to follow all three of them equally, peni’s a gust that carries a few leaves, ham’s a visible white swirling line, and noir’s blows on his trenchcoat

I imagine ham and noir, bless their poor souls, are always on edge when things begin to slow down because of the nature of their universe

ham has probably experienced dozing off or relaxing before suddenly BAM something happens suddenly scares him and /or calls him to man the spider ham role. Just part of the cartoon trope

meanwhile noir’s downtime in his universe means that something is brewing in his New York and he’s going to get a telephone call or hear that something’s happening that he has to go investigate

they almost afraid to settle down since it means that something is going to happen and something happening isn’t usually a good thing

peni doesn’t have this anxiety because she gets beach episodes and/or slice of life moments (instead she has breakdowns episodes where everything seems to go wrong until she can’t take it anymore:D)

this leds to peni to willed slice of life/beach episodes into Miles’s universe so ham and noir get to actually relax without fear of their universe logic coming out to get them

Do you guys have any info about what exactly Future-Tec is? I remember seeing some stuff in the 76 Atomic shop about it, but I can't really find any good info on what it is and what role it plays in the lore.

Heyo, thanks for the ask! I'm happy to answer anything I can!

So first, let's establish every game or publication Future-Tec is mentioned in (to my knowledge). Future-Tec is mentioned in the Vault Dweller's Survival Guide (Fallout's manual), Fallout 76 and lastly, Fallout: The Roleplaying Game!

In the Vault Dweller's Survival Guide, Future-Tec is stated to be a division of Vault-Tec, and presents an advertisement for the Garden of Eden Creation Kit (mind you, this is before the GECK was in a game too).

In Fallout 76, several Future-Tec Atomic Shop C.A.M.P. items appear, all with unique descriptions. The description for the Future-Tec Week Flag states the following:

Future-Tec was once a secret branch of Vault-tec tasked with investigating top-secret and alien technologies. Fly their flag in your C.A.M.P. with the Future-Tec Week Flag.

Additionally, the terminal entries for Vault 51 show that ZAX 1.3c copied Dr. Stanislaus Braun's writing and speaking style, in order to obtain a Hellfire Prototype Power Armor unit. The entry reveals that Braun was the department head of Future-Tec!

In Fallout 3, we also learn that Braun is the creator of the GECK!

Lastly, in Fallout: The Roleplaying Game, we get this short blurb about the GECK:

Devised by Vault-Tec’s Future-Tec division, this terraforming device uses matter recombination technology to transform irradiated or otherwise polluted earth into fertile soil. It also included force-field schematics and 3D printing arrays to make everything from buildings to clothing from the raw materials of the earth.

Now that we have our sources put together, let's piece together all that we know about Future-Tec, as a division of Vault-Tec.

Future-Tec was a division of Vault-Tec, headed by Dr. Stanislaus Braun. Described as a secret branch of the company, the division was responsible for investigating "top-secret and alien technologies." The Garden of Eden Creation Kit was devised by the department, with Dr. Braun being responsible for developing the device itself.

I hardly even remember what he did in the show, and thats says a lot 😭 I feel like book Asmo was rather indifferent to Malec, he just though Magnus was a fool who was fiddle fartin around because he wouldn’t join him.

No he is SO much worse in the books. He can be funny but he is downright DIABOLICAL and because we see so much of him and his (horrible) relationship with Magnus it really makes me hate him. He literally doesn’t care about Magnus except for what he can get out of him because Magnus is so powerful as an eldest curse. And that involves literally just taking his life force. He is truly fuckin evil

Sorry, but I don't take OC art requests :[ For a lot of reasons, like my art taking a lot of time, the anxiety of being flooded by requests, or even just not catching the likeness/understanding these guys good enough I only do art trades with friends or do gifts for them from time to time, but I prefer to draw canon characters for requests (but I love OCs and talking about them! especially TEC OCs!)

I have been reading the first few detective comics issues too. I didn't know Hugo Strange was introduced in 1940. Tbh the majority of Bat-Man's foes ( who is implied to live in New York in this period) are like evil doctors and evil scientists or evil occultists. Hugo doesn't stand out one bit.
