Beneath your skin is an inferno.
It’s not the kind that blazes for another, or burns in tandem with a deep yearning. This is just seething anger and blunt frustration.
You’re ready to knock out some fucking teeth.
How dare he? Who the fuck does Lieutenant Riley think he is?
When you return reports to Captain Price, you point out all the inconsistences and errors. The lack of accountability and absolute carelessness has been scratching at you for ages, and this time you had enough. Usually Price shrugs, fixes whatever you’ve marked—to a degree—and then returns them without argument.
This time? Price took one look at them and told you to talk to Simon.
Not a problem. No issue at all. You and Lieutenant Riley have always been on good terms. Sometimes, it’s been more than good. You’ve caught him staring for far too long, or he stands a bit too close as if the two of you are a couple and not coworkers. And while you’ve internalized the fantasy, it’s not like you’ve ever acted on it.
But now you’re just irritated.
You handed over the files yesterday evening, and this morning you found them back on your desk. It’s not the turnaround but Lieutenant Riley’s audacity of placing those files back on your desk with a singular sticky note.
The reports are just fine, sweetheart.
Sweetheart. Sweetheart?
The other day you imagined what it might be like to have the burly, masked man call you a pet name, but this is just fucking condescending.
Your heels clack sharply against the linoleum floor. Perhaps it’s the rage in your face, because every person you meet on your rampage steps out of your way, their gaze averted. Rounding a corner, you exit through a side door and into one of the hangars. A few people glance up, frowning, but return to their job.
Sighing heavily, you approach the nearest person. “Where’s Lieutenant Riley?”
The young man—who looks right out recruitment—glances up. He swallows and peers over his shoulder as if he’s not sure he’s supposed to say. “Locker room, ma’am?”
“Thank you,” you reply sharply, turning on your heel and heading for another door leading to the communal gym.
“But—” he begins, stumbling to his feet as you charge on. “Ma’am! You can’t—”
The door slams shut behind you and you don’t look back.
This is one of several communal spaces. There are the usual training areas on base but there are also a few gyms for those that want to get a bit of extra work in. Every head turns toward you and many don’t look away. This one is just for the men, and you’re the odd duck.
And fuck it. You don’t care. You’re too fucking mad right now to think of anything else but giving Lieutenant Riley a piece of your goddamn mind.
With everything pumping in your veins, the reality of you storming toward the locker rooms hasn’t even dawned. Hasn’t clicked. Fury laces your every step, and even here, where you’re not supposed to be, the men in your path move as if they sense the rage.
When you burst through the door and meet a wall of steam, all the heat suddenly extinguishes. Glancing around, you’re met with wide-eyed stares and surprised expressions.
Keeping your gaze as upward as you can, you clear your throat. “Where is Lieutenant Riley?”
There is only silence. Maybe if you stare at the top of the lockers for long enough, you’ll somehow gather your courage again.
“I asked where Lieutenant—”
“I’m right here.”
You turn abruptly and freeze.
Lieutenant Simon Riley stands before you in nothing but a towel. It hangs low on his hips. Other than that, the bottom-half of his face is covered up by a black mask and his dog tags dangle from his neck. His hair is a wet, tussled mess, and his chest glistens with water like he just stepped out from the shower.
Simon simply stares at you for a moment as you stand in utter silence. His gaze, which is piercing and fierce, slides away to scan the room. He doesn’t have to say anything. The rest of the men in the room grab bags and clothes, rushing to exit through the door you just entered from.
When the last man leaves, Simon rolls his shoulders, straightening his spine. It makes him appear larger, more intimidating, and that one movement draws forth a heat in your belly. This isn’t anger. This is need.
“I know what you came here for,” he says, and it’s so casual a tone that the earlier rage comes rising up.
“I’m sure you do,” you snap, crossing your arms over your chest.
Simon says nothing. His dark eyes remain on you, unmoving and cold, yet pinning you to the spot as if you’ve been impaled by a spear.
“Are you going to apologize?”
“Why?” he asks automatically.
You scoff. “Are you fucking serious?”
“You didn’t come here for an apology.”
You uncross your arms and hold them out in front of you, bent at the elbows. “The reports—”
“The reports are fine.”
You roll your eyes and throw your hands up in the air. “There are inconsistencies everywhere. I can’t submit them as they are.”
Simon rolls his neck and then strides forward. Instinct has you stepping back, moving away, but you bump into a row of lockers. He doesn’t stop until he’s leaning over you, one large hand pressing into the metal to the side of your head.
“You’re nitpicking,” he replies.
“About lazy writing?”
“Oh, love. I assure you. I’m thorough.” At that, Simon leans in, and your hands rise instinctually, pressing against his firm chest.
Simon’s gaze doesn’t drop from your face. His entire attention is on you and that heat is back, twisting in your stomach, stirring up a slickness between your legs.
“Lieutenant,” you breathe, wanting the need between your legs to leave but also loving how close he is.
Sure, you’re pissed off but my god. The fresh scent of him is intoxicating, and you’re doing everything in your power not to lean in and lick up the droplet of water running along the side of his throat.
“Why did you come here?” He waits a beat, and when you don’t reply, Simon continues. “To argue?” He lightly pinches your bottom chin, his thumb pressing against your bottom lip, dragging it down a bit. You open your mouth involuntarily and Simon makes at sound in his throat that makes your legs weak. “To see me?” He leans in like he’s about to kiss you. “To be alone?”
“I didn’t ask for this,” you whisper.
Simon has you caged in. Pinned. The only thing separating your body and his is that towel.
“Why do you think everyone left when they did?” Simon’s thumb drops away from your lips only to press at the hollow of your throat. “It’s not because you walked in.”
“Why?” you ask, as Simon’s thumb drags lowers over your top to the space between your breasts.
“Because you’re mine. And they know it.”
“You—what?” Without anywhere to go, you can’t escape his intense stare.
“I’m staking a claim.”
“Lieutenant—”
“Simon,” he growls. “Call me Simon.”
“Simon,” you say, and he groans.
His dog tags brush against your fingers. The metal is slightly cool and damp. You curl on finger around the chain, and tug, bringing Simon’s face down to yours. If he can tease and touch, you’re going to do the same. He can’t have all the power.
Your lips brush against his through the mask, and Simon’s eyelids begin to close, revealing his gentle submission in this moment. Deepening the movement, you kiss him as if there were no barrier. This time, he truly groans, and you’d give anything to remove the barriers between you and find out what it’s like to feel him deep inside.
Fisting his dog tags in your hand, you shove him away, but only enough that there is a fraction of distance.
“Fix the fucking reports, Simon.”
Instead of kissing him again, or even touching him, you unclench your fist, releasing the dog tags. Slipping under his arm, you exit through the door and out into the gym, leaving a trail of steam in your wake.

Maybe This Time - Part Two
Jessie Fleming x Reader
Summary: As Jessie and you grow closer, you attend your first Thorn's game, get grilled by Janine, and Jessie relives old memories of you - both good and bad.
Warnings: None.
A/N: It's been a while, so if you need Part One here it is. Depending on the appetite for this fic, I'll either wrap it up next chapter or will explore a bit more.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Does the offer for tickets still stand?"
Jessie's smile widened as she read your message.
"Of course. Which game do you want to see?"
When she locked her phone and tucked it into her jacket pocket she caught the curious look Janine was giving her. The blonde leaned against the lockers, hand resting on her hip.
"What's that about?" She asked with a single waggle of her eyebrows and a knowing look to the phone.
"Nothing," Jessie replied in a drawn out tone as she rolled her eyes and turned to walk to the carpark, knowing Janine would follow.
"I think you mean 'Y/N'," Janine said rather smugly as she fell in step. Jessie came to a stop and shot her friend a withering look.
"Not you, too," she complained, being immediately met with all-too-satisfied laughter from Janine.
Since Jessie texted Teagan about you a few weeks back, she'd received relentless razzing from her Bruins teammates, but now it seemed word had gotten out even more.
"You were crazy about her back in the day," Janine went on undeterred. "I remember you texting her - not as discretely as you thought, by the way - and moping over her at camps."
"Uh huh," Jessie said in a flat, unimpressed tone as they began walking again. "I did not mope," she muttered.
"Oh you moped," Janine refuted. "Big time." Before Jessie could argue further, Janine went on. "And now she lives here and so do you? And she’s single? Sounds like fate to me," she said with a cheeky smile.
"Stop it," Jessie scolded mildly. The rest of her complaint dissipated as she felt her phone buzz. She pulled it out and shot Janine a dark look at the "Oooo" noise she made upon seeing your name on the screen. Jessie turned her back to Janine and opened the message, ignoring how the girl was tall enough to see over her shoulder anyway.
"Awesome! Whatever's available, really. This weekend, next, whatever works. Thank you!"
Jessie sighed irritably as she tried to ignore how Janine was blatantly looking at the message.
"I can get you tickets for this weekend. Is two okay?"
"Why are you offering her two!" Janine protested. "You want her to bring a date or something?"
Jessie rolled her eyes. "I'm not going to make her attend alone. She can bring a friend." She averted her gaze briefly before lowering her tone. "A friend who's hopefully not a date." Immediately, she went on. “Not that I care. We’re totally different people now. There’s nothing to read into.”
“Right,” Janine deadpanned. She opened her mouth to speak, but a new message popped up and both girls’ attention was drawn to it.
"Brilliant! I'll be there. Thank you so much. I'm looking forward to it! It's been too long since I've been to one of your games."
Jessie smiled before tamping it out when she remembered Janine was studying her.
“Cool. I’ll send you the tickets.”
She was going to write something further, something witty, but not with Janine hanging over her shoulder and analyzing every word and move.
“Imagine if you get benched this Saturday,” Janine said followed with a laugh. Jessie glowered at her.
“It wouldn’t matter anyway,” Jessie said haughtily, recovering from the dirty look she shot her friend. “It’s not like she’s here to see me specifically.”
“Uh, I think that’s exactly what she’s doing. Remember? She doesn’t even like soccer?” Janine pointed out exaggeratedly before muttering. “Which would totally be a red flag, but your Bruins girls seemed to like her, so I guess she can’t be all bad.”
“Oh my gosh,” Jessie chided. “Her not caring about soccer is not a reflection of her character or worth as a human being. God, Janine.” She rolled her eyes and Janine made a face at her.
“You know what does though? How much emotional turmoil she put you through in university. I can - and do - judge her for that,” Janine retorted, now earnest.
Jessie shot her a look as they reached their cars. They stood to face one another and she sighed.
“It’s not her fault,” she said quietly. “I never told her how I feel. Felt.” Jessie glowered at herself this time, rolling her eyes. “She didn’t string me along or anything like that. Anytime I was moody - or mopey - it was my own doing. We were really close and I wanted more, but I was too shy. And I’d get jealous of girls who did have the nerve to ask her out and date her and it was my own fault.”
“This isn’t the 19th century, Jessie. She could’ve asked you out, too,” Janine countered and Jessie huffed in frustration, folding her arms tightly across her chest.
“Well. I guess. But. I don’t know.” Jessie kicked at the ground with her sneaker. “I think she maybe was now and then? Like - not explicitly I guess. But looking back I think she wanted me to reciprocate more and I didn’t. Maybe.”
Janine arched an eyebrow at her.
“What do you mean?”
Jessie’s frustration grew, but she took a breath.
“I don’t know.” She shrugged sharply and redhead out to open her car door. “It doesn’t matter. That’s all in the past anyway.”
She didn’t have to look at Janine to know the girl was processing how far to push this. Mercifully, she relented.
“‘Kay. Well, I've push my judgement aside. And truthfully, if you like her, that says a lot - she must be pretty great. I look forward to meeting her on Saturday. And I will be nice. I promise.”
“Thank you,” Jessie said, giving Janine a grateful look. “See you tomorrow.”
“Later.”
——————
Saturday’s game rolled around and Jessie was in the locker room getting ready when her phone buzzed. Normally, she didn’t check her phone or keep it nearby when she was preparing for a game, but, you know, what if you had a question or a problem with the tickets? She clearly had to be available.
When she checked her phone and saw your name, she smiled. For the first week or so anytime you appeared on her phone Jessie felt a spark of surprise, but that had now diminished. Not in a bad way, but you two had been texting quite regularly and it wasn’t a shock anymore to hear from you.
Ready to watch a ball be kicked around and chased for 90 minutes!
She actually laughed when she read the message, but it was cut short when she saw the selfie you sent with it. On one hand, you looked beautiful and she smirked at how you’d bought a Thorns scarf and hat. On the other hand, old feelings came up when she saw you and your…friend. Whoever that may be. It was a silly notion, but it felt too familiar.
Jessie sighed.
What - no Fleming jersey?
Lol. I guess we’ll see how today goes as to whether or not I can be swayed. I mean, that’s a commitment.
Jessie's attention was drawn away when Coach announced it was time for warm-ups.
"Off your phone," Janine said dramatically with a bobble of her head. "You're so focused you missed the update to the starting lineup."
"What?" Jessie asked, eyebrows furrowed and attention now fully on her friend.
"Yeah," Janine said pointedly as she crossed her arms. "You really didn’t hear? You're not starting anymore. You're on the bench; Coach is thinking of pretty much resting you for the game."
"What?" Jessie asked again with greater intensity, sitting forward. She watched as Janine's stern expression melted into laughter. Jessie's concern and confusion immediately shifted to irritation and she stared daggers at the blonde.
"Oh my God. I can't believe you fell for that," Janine teased. "Don't worry," she went on, rolling her eyes, "nothing's changed. But now I know how much you want to show off for Y/N."
"You're ridiculous," Jessie scolded as she stood. "I'd be upset any day about getting suddenly benched. What are you talking about." Janine still snickered.
"You gotta point her out to me when we get on the pitch."
"No," Jessie said firmly as she typed out one last text.
"Time for warm-ups. It usually takes us a long time to get out of here after games, but if you're around later on maybe we can grab a drink together."
Jessie fought off the impending blush and tucked her phone into her bag before jogging after the rest of the girls.
Out on the pitch she put in quite a valiant effort to not look in your general direction. It was all rather pointless, really, it's not like you were close enough to the pitch for her to see you clearly or vice versa, but still. She also readily ignored the way Janine tracked her stare for any indication of where you were sitting.
By the time the anthem rolled around, Jessie's resolution waned. She stood there with her shoulders back, hands clasped behind her as the music echoed through the stadium. Despite her intentions, her gaze wandered over to the section you were in. Her gaze lingered long enough for her to pick out the spot you were in. Again, you weren't super clearly defined that far out, but it was you.
She bit the inside of her cheek and fought off a blush. She refused. This was a new time, a new Jessie, and she'd be damned if she'd shrink and blush just because you were here. She'd played in front of sold out stadiums on the world stage - why should she care if you were watching? Still, her mind raced back to when you first came to one of her games.
She'd played with the Bruins for over a year by the time you became friends. Jessie had really been downplaying the whole soccer thing for the initial part of your friendship - she didn't want it to define her and in a way it felt like bragging. She actually liked that you didn't know her for soccer and when someone else in class once made a big deal about her, you looked momentarily perplexed, but unfazed and you both immediately went back to talking about nanomaterials.
In fact, Jessie never actually invited you to one of her games. The concept just seemed so…egotistical. That said, she remembered when the starting whistle was about to blow at one of the games and she made the mistake of scanning the crowd. Just the memory of the shock and nerves that washed over her upon seeing you in the stands nearly caused her body to recreate the same reaction in this moment. She took a deep breath.
Jessie was so stunned to see you at the game that the whistle blew and the game started while she remained rooted to her spot for several seconds, belatedly stumbling like an idiot after the ball long after it shot past her. She was off the entire game - shots going wide, poor challenges, and somehow ending up flat on the pitch more times than she could recall in recent years. It was a game from hell for her.
After the game, she was so embarrassed she scurried off the field, showered, got changed and rushed back to her dorm. Only later did she learn you'd looked for her after the game. Next time she saw you in class, she sunk in her chair, anxiously tapping her pencil on her notebook and determinedly stared forward. You greeted her like normal, but Jessie was fidgety and gave monosyllabic answers. You eventually congratulated her on the game. Despite Jessie's less than stellar performance, the team still won. Jessie guffawed and felt heat ascending on her face. She shuffled in her seat and claimed she didn't know you'd attended the game. Despite her aloofness, you were still very complimentary.
Thankfully, in future games Jessie was more like herself. But she'd be lying if she said she wasn't nervous every time you showed up. She just never wanted to make a fool of herself in front of you.
This time, however, as the first whistle blew, Jessie charged forward, immediately winning possession and sending a long through ball past an unsuspecting defensive line for Sophia to chase down. A strong start for Jessie, followed by well-timed tackles, solid passes, deft footwork and by the end of the game - an assist. She was subbed out in the final 15 minutes, but she felt great about her performance.
After the final whistle and a 2-0 result, the team walked the pitch greeting and thanking the fans. Jessie walked along with her teammates, clapping along with the fans and waving periodically when Janine ran up next to her, nudging her with her shoulder as she did so.
"Okay, so where is she? Oh, and congrats. You put on a bit of a clinic today, so I'm sure she'll be very impressed."
Jessie rolled her eyes and sighed in exasperation.
"You're not going to be able to see her anyway. And who knows, maybe she left already."
"Another point against her," Janine joked, ignoring the look Jessie shot her.
Jessie was about to prep a rebuttal when her eyes fell upon you. You were hanging back behind the fans who had clamoured down to the barriers and were reaching over with gear to sign. While her pulse quickened at the sight of you, an uncomfortable pit formed in her stomach when she saw you leaning in and whispering to the girl you were with. Jessie quickly shook out her head in a vain attempt to rid herself of this nagging - and totally unwarranted - jealousy.
"Wait - which one is she," Janine asked, urgency in her voice as she started pushing into Jessie to try and gauge where she was looking.
"Oh for goodness sake," Jessie muttered, though grateful for the distraction. She sighed, but described you to Janine and gestured vaguely. As she did so, you looked her way and you caught one another's eye. Jessie swallowed her discomfort and gave you a wave with a half smile, which you returned with a bright smile and an enthusiastic wave.
"Oh," Janine said flatly. "So that's why you like her."
"What?" Jessie asked, her voice suddenly high in question.
"Well, I don't play for the same team as you, but, she's a looker. I'll give you that." She gave a brief eye roll a moment later as she relented further. "And I guess she's gotta be smart, too."
"I don't like her, Janine," Jessie said through nearly gritted teeth. "Not that like anymore. She's just an old friend."
"Well, I'd like to talk with this 'old friend' of yours," Janine said, and before Jessie could react to the glint she caught in Janine's eye, the blonde was up on her tip toes and waving you down, insisting for you to come down to the pitch. You hesitated, but, standard Janine, she was very persistent. You looked to Jessie for direction and though Jessie wanted to just get swallowed up by the ground over this whole display, she channeled her energy and instead gave you an easy nod and waved you down as well.
It took every ounce of effort for Jessie to retain her composure as you descended the steps and found an opening in the crowd.
"So what's the verdict?" Jessie asked as you came up to one another at the barrier. Her eyes flicked momentarily back to your friend who stood behind you. "More or less entertaining than a Bruins game?"
You chuckled, a wide smile forming on your face and Jessie unknowingly smiled back.
"Well I don’t want to say anything negative about your Bruins days. I had fun - I know you don't believe me, but I did. That said, a game in front of like 25,000 fans is pretty spectacular. The energy in here was crazy." You gave a facetious roll of your eyes and tacked on with a smirk, "And I guess you played alright, too."
Jessie was about to riff off of your comment when Janine stepped forward and extended her hand.
"Hey, you must be Y/N. My name is Janine - nice to meet you," she said with a polite smile. You readily shook her hand.
"It's so nice to finally meet you. Jessie's always talked so highly of you."
"Ah," Janine said as she gave Jessie a lingering look before smiling back. "Jessie's always talked very highly of you, too."
You blushed slightly as you pulled a slight face, shifting your gaze to Jessie.
"That is much too generous of her," you said. "I would've expected her to talk more about how annoying I could be during study sessions."
"Nobody could be more annoying than Janine when I was trying to study," Jessie swiftly cut in. She ignored the affronted look the blonde shot her. Jessie looked back at you and quickly added, "Not that I thought you were annoying. You were one of the only people in my life that took studying seriously." Jessie took a breath and offered your companion a tight smile.
"You must be…"
"Oh!" You said as you turned on the spot. "Oh, I'm so sorry. This is my friend [y/friend's name]. She's actually been asking me to come to a Thorns game for a while, so - it finally worked out."
"Oh really?" Jessie asked, feeling annoyingly uneasy before remembering her manners. "Oh, and I'm Jessie. Nice to meet you."
"Very polite of you to introduce yourself even though you're famous," [y/friend] said with a laugh. "It's nice to meet you, too. I'm a fan of both of you and am stoked that you're playing for Portland these days. Imagine my surprise when y/n just casually drops that she got a personal invite from Jessie Fleming herself. I didn't believe her until she showed me a picture of you two from university."
Now Jessie did blush, brushing her hair back with her hand. Oh. A friend. And legitimately seemed like just a friend. She inwardly scolded herself for getting so worked up.
"Well, it sounds like we should all grab a drink or something together. Are you free tonight? I'd love to get to know you both better," Janine said with her most charming smile. You and Jessie shared a look.
"Uh, I mean, you mentioned a drink," you said as you gestured to Jessie. "So - I'm up for it if you are."
She'd really been hoping more for a drink one on one, but she supposed she'd have to adapt. She gave a casual shrug.
"Yeah, sounds good."
-----
"Another round?"
Conversation halted as the four of you looked to the server. You were the first to reply.
"Sure, I'll have another. Can I grab the pilsner this time?"
"I'll have another, too." Y/friend jumped in. "Same as before."
"Sure thing. Anyone else?"
Janine waved her off, but Jessie's eyes darted around the table as she debated what to do. A second round wasn't usually her go-to, and frankly, could be slightly dangerous territory when it came to her inhibitions. If you were anything like you were back in university, a second round wouldn't affect you much at all. Still, much like years before, Jessie felt the need to keep up.
"Sure, I'll have another."
"You got it. Be right back."
"So, Y/N, I think we must compare notes. Tell me what Jessie was like in university. I mean, I have my stories from camp and competition days, but I don't know UCLA Jessie," Janine said, leaning in conspiratorially.
"Oh come on, you two," Jessie complained pre-emptively with a roll of her head.
"Hey, why are you calling me out?" You asked, tone rising. "I didn't even agree." You dropped the offended act and leaned in mimicking Janine. "But of course we have to compare notes."
Janine clapped her hands in victory and sat back expectantly.
"You know what," you started as you reached into your pocket to retrieve your phone and started going through it, "after we ran into each other. I went through some old photos and look what I found."
"Oh sweet God," Jessie muttered as she sunk low in her seat and brought a hand up to cover her face.
You turned your phone around and held it out for Jessie first, though Janine immediately leaned right in. The second she saw the photo, Jessie's face began to burn with embarrassment.
"Delete." She shook her head, averting her eyes from the photo. "Get rid of it."
"Come on!" You protested as you drew the phone back. You looked down at the photo of Jessie kneeling in her UCLA blues with an upside down visor on her head looking comically serious.
"Gangster." Janine said with a laugh.
"Well, I thought you looked cute," you said primly. You were flipping to another photo and missed the look Jessie and Janine shared. "'Kay, how about this?" You held out your phone again, this time showing Jessie sporting a water gun at a campus party.
"Again. Delete!" Jessie said, hiding her face further, but now had to laugh.
"You were so sweet," you said. "You were taking that water fight very seriously, but you mercifully didn't shoot me. Which - thank you - cause I was getting rocked already." You gave her a smirk. "In fact, I think you even stopped a shot or two for me."
Jessie arched an eyebrow and gave a light shrug. "Maybe."
A moment later you started laughing, pulling a confused look out of the rest of the table. You waved apologetically. "Sorry - I just remembered. You blasted [y/ex] in the face so bad she was choking for like 5 minutes after. I guess that's not funny, but it kind of was."
Jessie blushed. "Oh yeah. I forgot about that. It just kind of happened - I felt bad after." She certainly didn't forget. And it certainly wasn't an accident. Though she did feel slightly bad.
"Oh, and I showed you this," you said to y/friend before turning the phone to Jessie and Janine again. "This is my favourite picture of us. Do you remember that day?"
Jessie took in the photo of the two of you sitting on the wall at the beach with your backs to the ocean at sunset. You were flush against one another, an arm around each other and your head was leaned against hers.
Jessie remembered this picture well. She'd looked at it many, too many, times. It had been one of her favourites too. Looking at it brought a wave of melancholy over her though. While she loved it, it brought her right back to when she'd stare at photos of you in the dark of her dorm or hotel room and think about the relationship she wished she had with you.
"Yeah, I remember. That was a good night," she said simply with a small smile.
"We were the last ones left around the bonfire that night," you recollected. "And you walked me back to my dorm - gosh, it had to be what, like 3 am by then."
"Yeah, I remember your girlfriend getting pissed with you about it, too," Jessie said without thinking.
Your smile faded slightly, though you held Jessie's gaze. You eventually gave a nod.
"Yeah, I remember that too." You scoffed lightly as you took a sip of your drink. "I can say this now - enough time has passed - my girlfriends always had an issue with you. Which should've been my immediate red flag for each of them. Because anyone who doesn't like you is problematic."
Janine leaned in without skipping a beat. "Okay, you can't just leave it at that. Tell me more. And yes - you're right - major red flags."
This time you were the one to blush. You fiddled with the glass a bit before shrugging, your eyes drifting to the TV in the corner of the establishment.
"I-I don't know," you stammered. "They were just insecure, I guess."
This made Jessie's ears perk up and she frowned deeply at you. Your face burned hotter as you felt the table's eyes on you.
"What?" You dismissed with a shrug and a light wave of your hand. "Is that so shocking? I mean, you and I were close. And we hung out a lot. And hello - co-captain," you shot her a momentarily teasing look, "of the soccer team, Dean's list, Olympic athlete, very charming, etc., the list goes on. Of course they were threatened."
Jessie finished a large swig of her drink, setting down the pint glass more heavily than intended on the table. Her face screwed up as she said, "That's the silliest thing I've ever heard."
Why would they have ever been jealous of her. They were the lucky ones. It was their bed you might climb into at night, their lips you would kiss and their hands you would hold.
"Jessie!" You laughed, leaning into the table again. "You are too humble for your own good. I told you. You had a lot of appeal."
"Well, not enough," Jessie muttered as she took another sip and raised her eyebrows, her gaze travelling over to Janine who was watching her tentatively. The blonde cleared her throat.
"So what I'm hearing is that UCLA Jessie wasn't all that different than national camp Jessie - just with marginally more debauchery," she interjected, diffusing any mounting tension.
It took you a moment, but you offered her a smile of agreement.
"Seems that way." A beat passed and you offered Jessie another smile. "Do you have any pictures from back then? You always had your camera out."
Your question broke Jessie out of her spiral. She wracked her brain momentarily for a response.
"Uh, no. I lost a lot of my old photos."
In reality, she deleted and threw out all of her pictures of you. All except one. It was that night at the beach, there was a moment of comfortable silence between you two and the last rays of sunlight were dipping below the horizon. You were looking out onto the sea, looking so peaceful and just so beautiful. That was her favourite photo of you.
Even when, one night in London, when she got home from a team outing and you had been on her mind all evening despite the fact that you hadn't texted her back in days; when she finally decided to put an end to this pointless and hopeless pining, she couldn't bring herself to delete that one photo.
Jessie ignored the flash of hurt that crossed your face.
"That's too bad," you said with a half smile. Jessie returned it and the mood at the table took a palpable dip. A few moments of quiet passed.
"Well, you two are in the same city again. You can take new ones together," y/friend offered brightly. You gave a light chuckle.
"I guess that depends on if you're too famous for me." You gave Jessie a smirk. Jessie was still in her head, until Janine nudged her under the table. She took a sip of her drink .
"Well, my schedule's pretty packed," Jessie said with a smirk of her own. The alcohol made it feel like she was on auto-pilot. She sat back and gave you a wink. "But I can make time for you."
You seemed caught off guard and gave a slightly awkward laugh though your cheeks blushed pink. You spoke somewhat wryly, "Well thank you."
Jessie cleared her throat and sat forward in her seat again, speaking earnestly this time. "No, seriously. Of course I'm not too famous to spend time with you. Now that's the silliest thing I've ever heard."
You propped an elbow on the table and rest your chin in your raised palm.
"Well, I look forward to making some new memories together."
Jessie held up her glass to you.
"Deal."

could you write something based off "so high school" about Caitlin?
SO HIGH SCHOOL (C.C)
Tumblr media
。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆
PAIRING: Caitlin Clark x fem!reader
SUMMARY: you and Caitlin are eachother’s number one supporters
WORD COUNT: 891
A/N: first fic on here!! keep sending those requests! but guys i literally wrote this on google docs and why did i kinda eat it up..
。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆
Everytime Caitlin has a game, you sit right where you can see her. It was tradition that neither of you wanted to break. She makes you wear her jersey to every game and can always spot you in the crowded arena. Sure, other people wear her same jersey but when you wear it, it's a different story. She calls you her ‘good luck charm’. But deep down it was more than that. It was a connection between you guys.
You and Caitlin were complete opposites. While you buried yourself in books, she lived and breathed basketball. Her life revolved around the court and it seemed like her million followers followed every move.Every game and every hoop was pure dedication to not only her sport but to you too. Despite your differences, your guy’s bond was unbreakable.
The first time you guys met you were sitting in a large library in the city of Des Moines. It was late, late for a basketball star-player to be in there at least. You were hunched over in textbooks, notes and color coordinated highlighters. Caitlin wandered in and went straight to the sports biography section. You could recognize that high ponytail and athletic build anywhere. She immediately caught your eyes peering at her but there were just silent glances with awkward smiles here and there. It seemed like you guys were the only people in there, because you were, besides the ancient librarian. You saw her stride over to your table and you looked up at her standing right in front of you.
“Hey” She started, “Is this book any good?” she flashed that smile you had gotten used to. From then on, you guys would regularly meet at that same library where that meet cute happened. Caitlin would always be dripping in sweat with a basketball by her side when she found you hunched over like you always were.
As months passed, you guys became each other's biggest supporters. You couldn’t help but be hypnotized by her. One night after her basketball practice she invited you to be away from the books and watch her shoot hoops at the outside courts. “Y/N? Can I tell you something” she sat down next to you on the metal bench and your heart raced when she spoke those words, “I always notice you, at my games, all the time.” You went a little teary eyed. Having a crush on Caitlin took you back to the times in high school where you would get so giddy after one singular interaction with your crush and it felt childish at first but it felt right.
Tonight, it was Caitlin’s biggest game of the season and getting tickets was intense but thank god you managed to get them. You sat alone, in the second row up from the court watching Caitlin warm up and shoot 3-pointers like it was nothing. Her eyes scanned the crowd and her eyes immediately landed on yours. She pointed to you and then to the ball, “This ones for you!” She mouthed and you beamed her a smile. She shot the ball and made it. You laughed at her attempt to flirt. The game was intense and at times you had to look away because you were so stressed for Caitlin. The way she moved the way her brain worked on the court left you in awe. She made every shot she threw and the announcer would make that loud announcement like “CAITLIN CLARKKKK MAKES IT IN”.
You cheered louder than anyone and everytime she made a basket or one of her teammates did she would always look for you first to make sure you were supporting her. Your voice eventually became hoarse from yelling and cheering too much but you only focused on her. The final buzzer echoed and Caitlin had led the team to victory again! Her team crowded around her but her eyes were still fixed on you. She broke away from her team after their big group hug and made her way over to you in the stands.
You put your arms out and she gave you the biggest hug. Neither cared about how sweaty she was, the hug felt like you were the only ones in that arena, besides the countless cameras that were probably on you guys. “Thank you,” you felt her say in your ear while still embracing in the hug, “For always being here. For believing in me” Your heart melted when she said those words to you. You pulled away, but not completely away, so you can look at her in her eyes. “Always.” Your voice was filled with a million emotions, “I will forever be your number one supporter, I'm so proud of you.” There was a swift moment but you both knew what you wanted.
Caitlin rested one hand on your cheek and the other on your waist and pulled you in for your long awaited kiss. It's what you've dreamed about for the last few months. She pulled away with a smile that made you melt and her eyes were shining under the bright gymnasium lights. Fingers entwined with one another, “Let's get out of here,” She grabbed your hand tightly, “I want to celebrate with you” No matter how different you guys were, she always made it feel like it was just a high school crush.

THIS BEAUTIFUL MELODY — WRIOTHESLEY
⋆。˚ ❀ summary: you notice a beautiful ship and are excited to see what human you can lure out. surprisingly for you, it’s not an entranced sailor, but rather a man who jumped off the ship to chastise you. ⋆。˚ ❀ wc: 3.2k ⋆。˚ ❀ genre: mermaid!reader; suggestive, 16+? ⋆。˚ ❀ a/n: fyi reader is kind of morally gray just like the slightest bit LOL like they don’t wanna gravely harm anyone yk but they get in a silly goofy mood sometimes -3- happy somewhat-unhinged mermay! xo
There was always a slight thrill that accompanied the satisfaction of seducing a human.
The way they looked at you with such enamorment, as if they would follow you off the face of the earth; the clumsy way they would leap off their boat just for the chance of being in your presence…
It was one of your favorite pastimes, to be honest.
Now, it wasn’t something you participated in a lot, but the days when you and your friends had a contest of who could lure the most men at sea were certainly ones you always remembered.
There was a line you didn’t cross, naturally.
While you did indeed lure sailors out of the comfort of their own ships and into the waters, you didn’t leave them there. Sure, there were a few cases of people almost drowning, but you were certain you hauled most of them onto a rock or island to be found. Hopefully.
You just found humans so fascinating, with their helpless little legs and inability to breathe underwater. How easily they became entranced by your alluring song.
None of the merpeople you have met reacted to you in such a way. In fact, you found most of the mermen particularly annoying even.
It was a nice day above the ocean today and you spotted a beautiful ship sailing by—The Wingalet it read. A ship of this beauty must have had a captain just as so. You swished your tail in excitement.
And so your song began.
A ringing, melancholic beauty slowly filled the air. When you closed your eyes, you could visualize the fog spiraling up from the sea, carrying your voice to the inhabitants of the ship. Could the humans envision it too? You let your mind wander as you sang.
When you finally opened your eyes, you saw a figure emerge from inside the ship. He stood on the edge, and though you did not see his face, you could sense that he was looking right at you.
A chill ran up your spine as you giggled in excitement, the playful wavering of your tune only adding to the appeal. You watched as the man leapt off the boat, swimming towards you. To your surprise, he was able to navigate the waves with relative ease—for better than any human you’ve lured before.
“Hey,” he called in a firm tone as he neared you, startling you to a stop. No human has ever reacted with such a tone.
You didn’t let that phase you as you smiled coyly at him, shifting your hair to expose the skin of your neck and collarbones. With all the flattery you could muster, you greeted, “Hello, Captain.”
He nodded. If he was affected at all by your antics, you honestly couldn’t tell. “It’s ‘Your Grace,’ actually. Or simply Wriothesley is fine.”
Your brows raised, unsure if you should be impressed by the title. It certainly wasn’t as grand as ‘Your Highness.’ “Well, simply Wriothesley it is, then. What a unique and lovely name.”
“Thank you for the compliment,” said Wriothesley, wiping a water droplet from his forehead. “But I do have to ask— Could you please stop singing your song around here?”
You blinked. “Pardon?”
“It is beautiful, don’t get me wrong, but are you aware of how many civilians I’ve had to drag back from the rocks?”
Feeling chastised, your face heated up and you no longer felt the trance flowing from you. “Are you not grateful I dragged them to the rocks?”
Wriothesley sighed, treading water significantly better and longer than most humans could. He wasn’t falling on his face at the sight of your beauty, nor did he seem seduced by your song. You gazed at him curiously. Just who was this man aboard the Wingalet?
Whoever he was, he ruined your fun.
Where was the helpless, strong sailor who bowed to your every whims—for the few moments they could last in the ocean, at least. This reaction, or lack thereof, was new and you weren’t entirely sure if you liked it.
It had been a while since you last lured a sailor… Did you lose your touch? Your friends would have had a field day if they learned about your humiliation.
“All things considered, I appreciate you don’t leave my people behind after toying with them, but I would appreciate even more if you didn’t toy with them altogether,” he said after moments of contemplation.
Your mouth dropped. In all your life you have never been spoken to in such a way. Or rather, not by a human. Some mermen you knew could be just as fussy. “I would appreciate it if my hobby wasn’t judged so harshly.”
Wriothesley shook his head. “It is not my place to judge. But as you are in the borders of Fontaine, it would only be fair if the rules of the region applied to you as well. Including not bringing harm upon others. Is that what your hobby is?”
“I’m not harming anyone!” you protested, folding your arms defensively.
As you frowned, you couldn’t help but notice the way Wriothesley’s gaze followed the water droplets down to the curve of your breasts. A hint of mischievousness made its way back to you. Perhaps he wasn’t as unaffected by you as he tried to seem. You decided to adjust your tone to one more…appropriate for the situation.
“Your Grace,” you said apologetically, lips slightly parted as you shyly batted your lashes. He wet the corner of his mouth but didn’t blink an eye. “I truly mean no harm to you or your people. I only wanted to sing for you all.”
Wriothesley raised a brow as you fluttered over to him.
“The merfolk back home don’t care for my music,” you said with a sigh, placing a gentle hand on his arm. “You humans have much better taste.”
As you drew nearer, you heard the labored breaths coming from him; his movements grew languid as well. You blinked. He had seemed so unbothered and confident, you almost believed he had no trouble keeping up on his own. Still, you reminded yourself he was a pitiful human—no matter how big and handsome he was.
“Let me help you, Your Grace.” You offered him an arm to guide him along. “I know a cove not too far from here where you can rest.”
Though tired, he managed, “Or, you could help me back to my ship that’s also not far from here.”
“But then how would I get on board with you?” you pouted, splashing water up with your tail. “I’m still not done with you yet.”
Wriothesley choked out a laugh, slightly incredulous. Still he decided to humor you and nodded. “Sure, then. Lead me to your cove. Not that I have much choice, if you think about it.”
“I could also leave you on a sharp rock if you annoy me,” you offered.
He sighed, an amused look littering his face. “Wherever you wish, darling.”
Your stomach jumped at the pet name, pleased at the sound of it. Sure, this man may be difficult compared to all the others, but maybe that would just make this more fun.
Deciding against the large rock for today, you began to lead Wriothesley to a nearby island. It was small and quaint but the waves were calm and the vegetation was fruitful. Plus, there was a cove on the other side where you enjoyed picking shells. Perhaps you could show Wriothesley your shell collection if he kept his mouth shut for long enough.
As you continued swimming, you noticed the grip of his hand tightened. You looked back and he was showing more signs of fatigue.
“We’re almost there,” you murmured, not necessarily out of concern for him, but rather concern for the extra work you’d have to do if you had to haul an unconscious person onto land. “Don’t pass out yet.”
“Since when were you so sweet?”  he drawled.
With a huff, you pulled him the final stretch of the way, not letting go until you were certain he could stand steadily on his own.
To your surprise, he did not stumble as he collected himself, even after you let him go. You hummed in delight, Wriothesley must be really strong if he could withstand all that.
Once he was settled, you hauled yourself further along the shore. When the water become too shallow to comfortably maneuver around, you cleared your throat and looked up at him. When the two of you made eye contact, you lifted your arms, prompting him for assistance.
Could you haul yourself to land without help? Yes, you’ve done so a million times before. But why would you do it yourself when you knew someone else was capable of doing it for you?
Wriothesley let out a surprised laugh, voice sounding strained. “Are you asking me to carry you?”
Your eyes widened with indignation. “Of course not!” How could he possible have mistaken your gestures to mean wanting to be carried? “I’m only asking you to drag me over to the shore…”
He almost choked at your words before shaking his head. You twirled you hair around your finger. Was that strange of you to say? “Does that not hurt your scales?”
You thumped your tail down and splashed water on the both of you, displaying your tail’s capability. “My scales are strong,” you chirped.
Wriothesley hid a smile. “Allow me to be a gentlemen this once.”
“What do you mean—?”
You cut yourself off with a yelp as you felt yourself being lifted into the air. Dread filled your body at this unfamiliar feeling and you began to squirm around, wanting to get out.
“Hey now,” he said in a soothing voice, arms tightening around you to offer a sense of security. “I’m only helping you get to the sand with me. I’ll make sure you are still close enough to the water. And I won’t drop you, if that is what you are fearful of.”
“Are you certain?”
You heard the horror stories about humans. Some would cut off the tails of merfolk and sell the scales. Others who simply wanted to sate their morbid curiosity and know how your kind tasted… You shuddered.
“I promise no harm will come to you,” stated Wriothesley, slowly kneeling to the ground and placing you on the sand. “See, it was only a short trip. It’s over now. I’m sorry for starling you.”
You sniffled, folding your arms across your chest. “I forgive you. But I am not showing you my shell collection anymore.”
He chuckled, placing his hand to his heart. “That wounds me.” Wriothesley took a seat beside you in the sand, letting out a sigh of relief as he stretched out his legs. “Maybe next time then.”
“Perhaps if I find you worthy enough,” you said haughtily. “Only a select few can see my collection. Or…perhaps it would be enough if you managed to get one of those orange-looking fruits from the land over there.”
Wriothesley followed your gaze. “The bulle fruit,” he said in understanding. “You want me to get you one?”
You nodded eagerly, your mouth watering at the thought. You had never tried one yourself—to be frank, the sand was just a bit too hot for your tail and you weren’t able to stand up and reach the fruit on those rare occasions you did make it far enough. But you imagined it was juicy and delicious.
Despite how tired he must’ve been after treading the ocean water for such a long time and carrying you to shore, Wriothesley still stood up and walked over to the nearest fruit tree. Your eyes widened as he punched the trunk of the tree, catching a fruit as it fell, instead of reaching up and picking one from the leaves.
You grumbled, wishing you had thought of that method yourself.
Wriothesley returned shortly with two fruits in hand, one for each of you. You graciously accepted the bulle fruit and the two of you munched together.
As the juices hit your tongue on your first bite, you let out a noise of satisfaction. It was both sweet and sour, the perfect balance that made you want more. While you had a preference for salty things, seeing as you lived underwater, you had to pay respect where respect was due.
Wriothesley looked over at you with a chuckle. “Is it to your liking?”
“Enough so that I may even show you one of my shells.”
“I’m honored.”
As you continued eating your snack, you began talking to him about whatever came to mind—what you had for breakfast the other day, the pretty seahorse you recently befriended, and the unsung horrors of trying to date your fellow merfolk.
Throughout it all, Wriothesley paid the utmost attention to you. He responded and reacted when appropriate and seemed like he was genuinely interested in what you had to say. He wasn’t even entranced by your powers, yet he acted in such a way… To say you were pleased was an understatement.
When you finally decided to take a break from talking, Wriothesley finally spoke up. “Is this the only reason why you choose to lure sailors to you? So you can sing and talk and get fruit?”
A human may have felt ashamed at his words, but you simply nodded. “And so they can pay attention to me and give me compliments.” You looked at him pointedly. “None of which I have received from you, by the way.”
He let his eyes trail down body, from the slightest protrusion of your collarbones down to the tip of your tail, then back up to your face. You squirmed against the heat of his gaze, your throat feeling dry at the intensity.
“Do you want me to begin complimenting you?”
Never once had you shied away from flattery, but the look in his eyes were different—darkened and sincere, not the glazed-over and enamored ones you had grown accustomed to.
“Maybe later,” you managed, feeling bashful under his earnest stare.
Wriothesley smirked but he did not push further. Instead he asked, “Do you want to know what I think, darling?”
You raised your brows, wondering why it sounded like a challenge. “Why not?”
“I think you are charming and beautiful, but lonely.”
Your mouth dropped in surprised. Was he trying to insult you?
“You want someone who is obsessed with you and only you, and you think it’s fun to see just how smitten you can make someone, no matter who they are.”
Curiously, you looked up at him, staying silent as he talked.
“But I think you find this more fun.”
“This?” you questioned.
Wriothesley nodded. “I’m not under your little siren spell, yet here I am—hanging onto your every word like it’s the best thing I’ve heard in my life. It’s a different kind of power you have over me. Is that not thrilling to you?”
You sat in your thoughts for a few brief moments. As fun as it was to make people fall over their own feet at the sight of you, Wriothesley was right. This was a different kind of attraction. You felt it in his stare, in the way he examined your every move. It was addicting in its own right.
“I have a proposal for you,” he offered, fishing something out of his pocket. It was a necklace with a dainty, yet regal shell attached as the pendant. “Instead of enchanting some innocent civilians with your song, why don’t you call on me wherever you get the urge?”
Wriothesley softly placed the necklace on your hands and you brushed your fingers atop the smooth surface. It was a gorgeous, vibrant blue.
“Sing only for me, into the shell, and I will come to you as fast as I can.”
“And if you don’t come?” you tested.
“I will.”
You hummed, considering his words. Did he enjoy your presence that much? Or was this some sort of trick? How he was immune to your song was a mystery in itself. Maybe the only way you would find out is spending more time with him, to begin with.
“Something troubling you, darling?”
“Just you,” you said honestly.
He laughed, drawing circles in the sand between your body and his. “I understand your reason for skepticism. But my reasons aren’t entirely selfless. Do you find it hard to believe that I want to see you again, too?”
Wriothesley glanced at you and grinned, bringing his hand up to wipe your plump lower lip. Your eyes widened.
“Bulle fruit juices,” he said, bringing his thumb to his mouth. You saw the pink of his tongue jut out to take in the leftover fruit.
You looked away, flustered. You were not sure how to react. Something about him felt so indecent…so daring. Had he no shame? And that was coming from a merperson!
Yet you still craved more.
“It also helps to know the more time you want to spend with me, the less time you’ll be seducing other men for your enjoyment.”
“Who says I won’t do both?” you challenged.
He had a confident look on his face as he said, “I’ll make sure it’s only me you will want to see.”
Heat filled your face as you bit out, “Such arrogant words for a human.”
“Such beautiful innocence for a siren.”
“Mermaid,” you corrected.
“Mermaid,” he said. “Apologies.”
“You’re forgiven.”
Wriothesley laughed as he stared off into the distance. You looked along with him and noticed his ship drawing closer. Frowning, you avoided his gaze.
“You’re leaving already?”
“I have some Duke duties to head back to,” he said apologetically, patting the top of your head as he stood, “but don’t forget the necklace I gave you.”
You placed it around your neck, satisfied when Wriothesley’s gaze zeroed in on where the pendant fell between your breasts. “You better come when I sing to you, Your Grace.”
“I’ll be there, darling.” Wriothesley kissed the back of your hand before he waved goodbye. “And who knows, maybe next time I can take you back to my place for a bit. There’s someone I’d like you to meet. A Melusine nurse. She may have a few tricks up her sleeve if you’re interested in some land legs for a day.”
Your eyes widened as you looked down at your tail. You loved it, very much so, but you were always curious about life above water. Eagerly, you nodded. “Okay! Then, you better come quick.”
“As soon as I hear your pretty song,” he called out his promise. “Until then, farewell.”
Admiring the pretty new necklace you acquired, you waved goodbye at Wriothesley. He was handsome and you knew the both of you wanted more. But you wondered just how upset you could make him if he were to find out you sang your song for another sailor before you called on him.
You smiled to yourself, pressing a kiss to the shell once his ship sailed away. “Don’t be too mad, okay, Wriothesley? I’m just having some extra fun.”

Title: Die For You (Seonghwa) Part 2
Tumblr media
▶︎၊၊||။|။ 00:10 | Playing: Die For You by The Weeknd
Pairing- Seonghwa x Reader x Wooyoung
Genre- University AU, angst, fluff (warnings: alcohol, mature language, mentions of sex, an argument scene)
Word Count- 7.9k
Summary- Between your best friend who doesn't love you back and the guy that does, things get messy as you try to figure out what exactly your heart wants.
-
“So what exactly did Yunho say about me?” you settled on asking, attempting to flutter your eyelashes. Yeah, you were not taking this impromptu meet up as seriously as you should. Sure Wooyoung was cute but you felt goofy today and apparently he found it amusing too because he just smiled.
“Just that you’re his friend and that I had to meet you. He also mentioned that you studied biology but he didn’t exactly mention to me how beautiful you were. If I knew I’d be seeing you tonight, I would’ve dressed up more.” There was a hint of flirtation in his voice when he leaned closer, which caused heat to rush up to your cheeks. He sure knew how to make a girl flustered because the way he looked at you had butterflies running rampant in your stomach. “Enough about what Yunho said though, tell me about yourself,” Wooyoung began, as he took a sip of his drink.
“Um okay,” you sighed, not knowing where to start. “Well I’m in my third year. And like you already know, I’m studying biology. I want to become a science teacher. I used to tutor for two years and I guess a part of me just likes telling people what to do? I also just love the study of life. It’s so interesting learning how cells and organisms react and respond to external stimuli. And then there’s genetic code and ecology and it's just so cool how we’re practically all dependent on each other, you know?” you noticed how Wooyoung was gazing so intently at you and stopped yourself, “sorry, I’m rambling aren’t I? You probably don’t care. How about you? Tell me about yourself.”
“You’re not rambling at all and I do care. It’s actually nice to hear how passionate you are about your major,” he began. “A lot of people just go to college not knowing what they want or go just because they want to please their parents,” he paused momentarily and there was something in his eyes that looked rather dejected. “I know because I was definitely like that for a while. I was majoring in biology too. I was on track to be pre-med but I was miserable. I hated my classes and the labs but I tried hard to be the son my parents wanted me to be and make them proud. I was so miserable and lonely though that I even considered dropping out but then I met Yeosang over there,” he looked back at both his friends, “and he made me realize that life was too short to waste time pursuing a path I hated. He also made me realize my passion and what it was I actually wanted to do in life so I guess I have him to thank for my epiphany," he reminisced on.
You glanced back at your friends too and caught a glimpse of Seonghwa who was texting and you felt your heart sting. You loved him but there was no way you were going to mourn over what could’ve been forever; you had to move on. You were here with Wooyoung, pay attention to him, you mentally scolded yourself. You were enjoying his company and he was a great guy you could see yourself with if things went well. So, changing your attitude about this borderline date, you gave Wooyoung your full undivided attention. “And what is it that you wanted to do?” you asked.
“I want to become a professional chef. Or at least do something in the hospitality and tourism industry,” he admitted with a melancholic smile. “I know I just need to go to culinary school but I figured having a bachelors wouldn’t hurt and my parents still wanted me to go to college, so I switched my major to business with a minor in hospitality management. Thankfully after a while, my parents just accepted it and college wasn’t so dreadful anymore. I even joined Delta Sigma Pi too because of Yeosang and met those losers,” he joked and you found yourself smiling too, because he was so endearing in the way he talked and expressed himself.
As the conversation went on, you’d begin to realize that there was more to meet the eye. Wooyoung was really passionate about the culinary arts and even more introspective than you. His outer appearance was deceptive because although he was genuinely outgoing and silly, he was also a deep thinker and more earnest than you sought him out to be. Just hearing him talk about himself, you realized how hard working he was and how much self discipline he had. He was more wise than you thought too, so if there was one thing you’d learn while talking to him, he really believed in the saying that ‘your efforts never betray you’ and you found yourself standing by those words too.
As the night came to an end, you parted ways with Wooyoung and you guys even exchanged numbers. The rest of your friends split into cabs and you couldn’t stop smiling as you got into the cab with Yunho and Seonghwa to head back to their apartment south of downtown. Before you went out today, you had already decided you were going to crash at Yunho and Seonghwa’s shared apartment. Your car was currently parked at their place and you figured you’d drive back to your apartment tomorrow morning.
“So what do you think of Wooyoung?” Yunho asked from beside you as he manspreaded, forcing you to scoot over. You were practically squished in between the right side of the car door and your tall ass, long limbed friend. A heavy sigh escaped your lips.
“He’s great," you said, trying to get as comfortable as you could with Yunho's shoulder against yours. You instantly regretted climbing in first. The seatbelt was cutting into the side of your neck too and everything just felt uncomfortable. At least it wasn’t entirely terrible. At least the cab man wasn’t cheap and had the AC on at a temperature that wasn’t too cold nor hot.
“He’s a good guy Y/N.” Yunho insisted, lowering his head with a skeptical look in his eyes. It was almost as if he didn’t believe your words. What you said was the truth though, Wooyoung was honestly a great guy.
“I know," you enunciated. "I think I actually really like him,” you assured him while glancing over at Seonghwa who was texting someone (probably Seolhyun) on his phone.
Seonghwa peered up at your words, tilting his head to butt in. “He seems like the typical frat guy. Given how cynical you are, I’m surprised you even ‘like’ him.” The moment those words left his mouth, you scoffed. What did he know?
“Well he’s Yunho’s friend and I trust that he has good judgment. And just because he’s in a fraternity doesn’t mean he’s the stereotypical guys you see. If you just had one conversation with him, you’ll see. Also, I can make my own decisions, and Wooyoung seems like a good guy.”
“If you say so,” Seonghwa sighed, raking his hand through his hair. “You’ve only known him for what? Two hours? Just don’t be surprised when there's someone else.”
You glared at him. Did he not drink enough tonight? Usually two drinks was enough to loosen him up and he was always a fun drunk.
Yunho elbowed Seonghwa who was so quick to judge. “Don’t listen to him, he’s just in a bad mood because he asked Seolhyun to hang out tomorrow and she blew him off.” He then turned back to you, a hand on your knee. “I know Wooyoung looks like the type to play around, but he’s not. He hasn’t actually hasn't been with anyone in two months," Yunho bragged. "There's nothing to worry about."
“How impressive,” Seonghwa mumbled under his breath before going back on his phone. If he hadn’t told you about his gigantic crush on Seolhyun earlier, you would’ve sworn he was almost jealous with how judgmental and grouchy he was. You ignored his attitude.
“Good to know I won’t be a rebound,” you said comically towards Yunho. “What happened anyway? Did he dump her? She dump him?"
Yunho exhaled. “He dumped her. I didn’t really know his ex that well but from the moment I met her, I didn't like her. And you know me, I like everyone. And turns out, she only used him for his money. Poor Wooyoung, you know? He really liked her.”
“Hold up,” you backtracked. “You’re telling me he’s loaded?”
“Yeah, but he’s really humble about it. He doesn’t tell anyone. Hell, I didn’t even know until his birthday last year when he threw this huge party at his parent’s mansion.” Yunho was saying all of this as if it was no big deal, as if it was common knowledge.
And it left you in shock.
“You should’ve led with that when you told me about him last week,” you joked. “I would’ve agreed to meet him much sooner.”
“Yeah right, Mrs. true love over money. You didn’t even care last week when I told you about how he wanted to meet. You wouldn’t let money deter you from the guy you actually like but who knows, maybe you’d come to like Wooyoung more than you think.” Yunho was right. You didn’t care about materialistic things and would rather be with a guy you genuinely liked than a guy who had money.
But when the guy you liked didn't like you back, you had to move on.
“No wonder why he paid for everyone’s drink,” Seonghwa grumbled from beside Yunho. “What a show off.”
“He was just being nice.” Yunho glared at Seonghwa before turning to you. “Anyway, speaking of birthdays, what are you doing next week for your birthday?”
“I have a class then I have a lab,” you droned and Yunho nodded.
“Nothing afterwards?”
“I’m gonna take a nap,” you said as a-matter-of-factly and Yunho scoffed.
-
When you arrived at Seonghwa and Yunho’s apartment, Yunho handed you an extra blanket and pillow to sleep on the sofa. You always had your essentials at their place for nights when you crashed over so it was just the usual. Everything was going well until you realized you forgot to bring your pajamas. And you really didn’t want to sleep in your clubbing outfit.
Reluctantly, you walked towards Seonghwa’s room. You would’ve went to Yunho’s room but he was fast asleep, that fact evident from the snores you could hear from outside the hallway. It was so tense between you and Seonghwa earlier but you sucked it up since you had no other choice. You counted to three before knocking on Seonghwa’s door. “Can I come in?”
“Sure,” he said from behind the door. "You can just come in, you know? You don't have to knock every time."
“Just to be safe," you said upon turning the doorknob. A flashback of that one time you almost saw him naked replayed in your head again and you felt heat rush up to your cheeks. You quickly shook that thought away. Thankfully he had pajamas on right now so no repeat of the event two months ago. "So um, can I borrow some clothes? I just don’t want to sleep in this outfit."
He immediately said “sure,” then rummaged through his dresser to toss you one of his t-shirts and basketball shorts.
“Thanks." You also gave him back his jacket, about to close the door when he spoke up again.
“By the way, do you really like that Wooyoung guy?” He asked as he grabbed the towel beside him to dry his hair. His demeanor was calm so you couldn't read him well. You chewed on the inside of your cheek, trying to come up with a decent response.
“Yeah, I do,” you settled on.
“I don't like him.” His voice was stern and you genuinely wondered what was going on inside his head right now because he had already made it clear how he felt about Wooyoung earlier.
“I know. But I do. So can you at least try to understand?”
Seonghwa sighed. “I’m only looking out for you. Some of Yunho’s friends are nice and all but that doesn’t mean they’re looking for anything serious and I’m just worried you’ll get hurt. You know I care for you right?” You appreciated him but just why did he always have to act like a nagging parent?
“I’ll be fine. I can take care of myself.” You tried not to show how annoyed you were. It was late and you were too tired for this.
“You know I love you right?” he began softly as he neared you, tossing the towel aside. He then grabbed your hands and pulled you into his chest, his arms around you now. “I’m sorry if I was being blunt today but it’s only because I don’t want you to get hurt.”
If only he knew that he was the reason why you were hurt in the first place. He could always read right through you— except for the times when he was the reason you were upset. It sucked how he broke your heart. And he wasn’t even aware he was doing it.
“I know,” you mumbled. You tried not to think about the heat of his body against yours because your top was really thin and it left you feeling him everywhere. It did little to stop your heartbeat from quickening so you pulled away. “I should go change now.”
-
Getting settled on the sofa, you tried your best to sleep but you couldn’t stop thinking about how you could hear everything Seonghwa and Seolhyun were talking about. The walls were paper thin and Seonghwa kept flirting and laughing at the things she said.
You used to be the one he called late at night and now she was the one he ended the night talking to. Granted, you were over at his place right now, and he didn’t need to call if he wanted to talk but still. The past week, his late night calls were short and now you knew why. He was busy calling another girl.
To soothe your uneasiness, you ended up texting your roommate-- NingNing-- about the events that occurred tonight and thankfully she was still awake, texting you while FaceTiming Mingi. They were apparently seeing each other now and while you weren't surprised, it still felt weird. At least they finally admitted it though, it was an agonizing few weeks of watching them sneak around and flirt.
After a while of texting and scrolling on your phone, you were about to call it a day when you received a text.
Wooyoung [ 1:02 am ]: hey, are you awake?
You [ 1:02 am ]: depends... is this a booty text?
Wooyoung [ 1:03 am ]: oh no, it's not I swear, I just wanted to talk
Wooyoung [ 1:03 am ]: I have a very important question to ask tho since you're awake
You smiled, pulling Yunho's blanket he clearly didn't wash from the last time you slept over towards your stomach. You half expected a flirtatious response from Wooyoung, but to your surprise, he was adamant that this wasn’t a suggestive text.
You [ 1:03 am ]: hit me with it
Wooyoung [ 1:03 am ]: so, do you like physics?
Who asks this question at 1 A.M.? you thought. You still responded, but the question was just so random, it threw you off guard.
You [ 1:04 am ] yeah, I actually have to take a few physics courses for my bio major lol, why?
Wooyoung [ 1:04 am ]: because according to newton’s law of universal gravitation, if I’m attracted to you, then you’re attracted to me.
Wooyoung [ 1:04 am ]: can you confirm? 😆
Wooyoung [ 1:04 am ]: sorry, was that lame? I just saw it online and I thought of you since you like science
You smiled, because it was indeed lame. But he was cute for that so you lied.
You [ 1:04 am ] nah it’s not lame. I think you’re attractive too, but shouldn’t you be sleeping right now? it’s late lol
Wooyoung [ 1:05 am ]: yeah, but I couldn’t stop thinking of you
And just like that, you ended up texting Wooyoung for the next two hours with a huge grin on your face, your eyelids heavy the whole time.
-
“Admit it, I was right about Wooyoung. I bet you regret not listening to me and meeting him sooner don't you?” Yunho asked with a smug look on his face. It was the next Friday now, and you and him were currently in the library together with your laptops open. You managed to finish one assignment but didn’t get much done because Wooyoung kept texting you which of course caught Yunho’s attention.
“Sure, whatever,” you waved dismissively towards Yunho, too engrossed in the conversation with Wooyoung to look up at him. You couldn’t stop smiling down at your phone while texting Wooyoung.
Ever since that day at the bar, you and him haven’t stopped texting each other. That night, there was no awkwardness, no silence, no overthinking. Conversations with him were so natural and easy. He even made you feel jittery inside because for once you weren’t bored and found the flirting fun. It made you excited. You wanted to get to know more about him and it was a new feeling. You’ve never met someone like Wooyoung before and it was like a breath of fresh air being around him.
The rest of your friends would show up one by one to the table you were at and wished you happy birthday as they came. Although you turned a year older today, it didn't feel as exciting as it did when you were a kid. It was just another day closer to wrinkles, menopause, and death at this point. If Yunho could read your pessimistic thoughts, he'd surely slap your wrist and call you ridiculous because he absolutely loved birthdays and saw the good in everything.
“Happy birthday!” Seonghwa said loudly as he gave you a back hug, making you startled. He laughed at your reaction before handing you a gift bag with some tissue paper. He stood tall and watched as you pulled out gift.
When you saw the Nintendo Game you had been hinting at for the past month, you squealed and jumped up to give Seonghwa a proper hug, thanking him over and over again before sitting back down.
You really were thankful. Not just for the game, but to have your best friend back. But good moments were fleeting, and it didn’t take long for reality to crash down again.
By the next hour, you finally managed to finish your pre-lab questions. Although the side conversations have never distracted you before, today it did. The majority of your friends were in the university's dance team and while you tried to support them when you could, you had class yesterday during the time of the concert and attendance was required.
Seonghwa managed to pull up the performance last night and forced it in your face, wanting to show off how well they did. And like the supportive friend you were, you watched it, and praised him knowing that Seonghwa, although confident in his skills, had his fair share of doubts and insecurities as well.
So it hurts.
It hurts that while you complimented him, he kept going on about how Seolhyun was the greatest addition to the team again like a broken record. Sure she was captivating on stage but you didn’t need to hear it 24/7. And as Seonghwa rewatched the footage again, you couldn’t help but notice how literal hearts formed in his eyes. It was like he was entranced, drunk on a love spell or something. And it was pathetic.
But then again, you were also pathetic. By now, you’ve come to terms with it. Seonghwa would never like you back. You just wished your feelings for him would go away already.
-
Wooyoung [ 2:44 pm ]: so what are you doing for your bday?
You smiled down at your phone. Wooyoung finally responded to your text after an hour. You guys picked up where you left off again which was the topic of your birthday. It had only been a week of texting back and forth so it was way too soon to tell him that it was your birthday. You didn't intend on telling him but then Yunho opened his big mouth so here you were.
You [ 2:45 pm ]: I have a lab at 6, then I’m going to take a nap lol
Wooyoung [ 2:45 pm ]: that’s so boring thooo
You [ 2:45 pm ]: it’s just another day, nothing special lol
And it truly was just another day. You were just going to turn a year older, there was no point in trying to celebrate although you had a feeling your roommate would probably try to pull something.
Wooyoung [ 2:45 pm ]: it’s your birthday, the day you came out into this world, it should be celebrated
You [ 2:45 pm ]: I guess
“You’re texting him now?” Seonghwa grimaced, his distaste for Wooyoung as clear as ever. You truly didn't get what was such a big deal because he knew you and him were talking. He had been acting like this for the past week now and it got annoying real quick.
“Yes,” you replied, raising a brow at Seonghwa. “Is there a problem with that? I like him.”
“No. But it’s just you’ve only known him for a week."
“So? You barely knew Seolhyun and you’re obsessed with her.”
“I'm not obsessed. And that’s different.” He pursed his lips. You begged to differ with how he managed to make every conversation about her, but you didn’t call him out on it, not wanting to look jealous.
“Do tell, because I don’t see how it is.”
“It just is. He’s a guy and you know how guys are. Not everyone is going to be like me or Yunho.” There Seonghwa went again being overprotective for no reason and you rolled your eyes.
“Hey man, trust Wooyoung has good intentions,” Yunho interjected and you agreed with him. Sure, a week of texting wasn't enough to say for sure, but you just had a feeling in your gut that Wooyoung was a genuinely good guy. And your intuition? Although wrong half the time, had its accurate moments too.
“Since you want to talk about Wooyoung, let’s talk about Seolhyun too," you challenged with a beaming smile, "You know how girls are like her are, what about her makes her any different?”
Seonghwa furrowed his brows and that was when you knew you got him right where you wanted him. Provoking him was fun, especially with how many jabs he took at Wooyoung these days. “What do you mean girls like her? What are you implying?”
“I don’t know, what am I implying?” You honestly didn’t know either but if he was going to act like a child, you were too.
“Guys, let's not fight,” Mingi butted in, attempting to ease the tension. You only narrowed your eyes at him.
“This isn’t a fight. I’m just simply asking him a question,” you sighed.
Seonghwa rolled his eyes. “Whatever, this is stupid. Let’s just drop it.”
You scoffed.
Of course he would brush this off. And to think, he used to be the type to actually want to talk about his feelings. You never thought the Seonghwa you knew would change so much. You thought you guys were close but you guessed not. He didn’t even tell you about Seolhyun the other day, considering how you had to hear about it from Yunho who half hid the truth from you.
So really, you shouldn’t be that surprised.
All your friends sucked at this point.
-
Or maybe your friends didn't entirely suck.
The moment you opened the door to your apartment and turned on the lights, your friends all jumped up and yelled “Surprise!” followed by a “Happy Birthday!”
You had just gotten back from your lab and you were going to take a nap but you supposed you could skip it for moments like these. You were so happy seeing all the people you were close with but then your eyes landed on a certain someone and your smile faltered.
Seolhyun was next to Seonghwa and you hated how picture perfect they looked together.
She was wearing a pretty pink dress too, one that made her look like a princess. It was your birthday yet it looked like it was her birthday instead with how she out-dressed everyone. Her makeup looked good too and it only made you more aware of how you looked right now. You didn’t need a mirror to know that you probably looked like a mess. You were sure there were probably still marks on your face from the goggles you had to wear during the lab. And you probably looked dead inside from the busy day you had. You then glanced down at your outfit and yikes. You wished NingNing would've at least given you a heads up about this party because the leggings and t-shirt you were wearing right now was embarrassing.
You mentally slapped yourself.
You let your friends sing and congratulate you before you went to change into a more appropriate outfit. You then found NingNing in the kitchen and pulled her over to a more quiet area of the apartment. She was always known for throwing a party every time there was an occasion and inviting a lot of people. And as much as you loved and appreciated her for all the complaints you received from your neighbors, she also knew about Seolhyun so just why did she invite her? You asked her, and she frowned apologetically.
“I’m sorry, Seonghwa brought her and I couldn’t just say no. She’s on the dance team too and it would’ve been rude if we didn’t invite her since most of your friends are on the team. It’s not so bad if you think about it. I actually talked to her earlier too and she’s really nice, you should give her a chance.” She tried to get you to cheer up too as she clung onto your arm but it didn’t work.
“You sound like Seonghwa,” you droned and she grimaced. You were going to need a beer.
-
“Are you having fun?” The voice of Mingi took you by surprise. He stood beside you with his own beer, solemnly looking around the party filled with mostly friends and a couple people you didn’t know.
“Not really," you sighed as you leaned against the counter.
“It’s because of Seonghwa isn’t it?”
You choked a little as your eyes widened. You straightened your back then turned to him, nudging his elbow. “What?”
Mingi grinned. “You’re not good at hiding your feelings as you think but don’t worry, I’ll keep it on the low.”
You raised a brow, having a slight suspicion your roommate liked to tell her boyfriend/ not-boyfriend your secrets. "Did NingNing say something?"
"Nah.” He smiled dubiously before taking a sip of his beer. You truly hated how men were sometimes with their short and clipped responses. You were going to ask him to elaborate when he spoke again. “Wooyoung’s not the guy Seonghwa painted him out to be earlier in the library by the way. I think he’s just confused right now. Has a lot on his mind.”
“I know but what do you think he’s even confused about?”
Mingi shrugged. “Things. He’s just oblivious sometimes.”
You understood and replied to that by taking a sip of your drink.
Mingi didn't linger around much longer before NingNing called him over. You sighed as you watched him walk away before scanning the room. You only wanted to look for someone to talk to when you made the grave mistake of making eye contact with Seonghwa. Before you knew it, he was gesturing for you to walk over to where he was near the hallway.
You heard Seonghwa call your name and you just froze. You couldn’t even act like you didn't hear because you’ve already locked eyes. You didn’t move but within a few seconds, he walked over anyway. “Meet Seolhyun,” he introduced, and you tried to smile. “She’s the one I was telling you about on the dance team.”
“Hi.” You hoped your lazy smile masks your lack of interest.
“Hey girl,” she beamed, going in for a hug, almost spilling your beer. She was also holding a beer too but she handled it better. You had to awkwardly put your arms to the side, trying to hold your beer at a distance. “Happy birthday! Seonghwa has told me a lot about you. You’re a biology major right? How’s that going for you?”
“Good.” You could’ve asked her about her major too but you honestly couldn’t care less.
“So did you go to our performance yesterday? We performed a medley of Hip Hop songs and Seonghwa over here was amazing,” she glanced over at him and they smiled at each other. You genuinely wanted to puke right there on her pretty sparkly heels.
"I was busy," you said but you doubt she even heard you with how much she loved to talk, going on about the performance with Seonghwa. You admired the way Seonghwa looked at her. It was the same way you looked at him if he ever cared to notice. It wasn't until Seonghwa patted your shoulder that you realized you weren't even paying attention to a single thing they said.
“I’m gonna get myself a beer, I’ll be right back,” Seonghwa announced before walking away, and right as he did, Seolhyun dropped the act.
“You like Seonghwa don’t you?” She folded her arms and sized you up. If only her fake lashes weren't lifting up from the corner of her eyes. Maybe then, you would've been more intimidated. Instead, you raised a brow and remained composed.
“What?”
“Oh cut the bullshit, I know you like him.”
“We’re just friends,” you tried to say calmly but she was less than pleased with your response.
“He talks a lot about you. You know, at first I thought he liked you but then I realized that it was just you who liked him. I know you guys are friends and all but if you know what's good for him, you'd back off and keep your distance.”
“Can you chill? I don’t know what you’re talking about. And we’re just friends so you can have him.” And you meant that. Although you liked him, you would never try to ruin his thing with Seolhyun after you knew how much he liked her.
“Fine then.” She straightened her posture then flashed a beaming smile. “Nice necklace by the way,” she complimented, eyeing the silver heart necklace that fell in between the clavicle bones on your chest. She then scanned the room. "Can you hold my beer for a second? I just need to fix this clip in my hair. Please?" She asked nicely with a pout, holding out her drink.
Against your better judgment, you said "sure" and tried to grab her drink only for her to drop it, causing the bottle to shatter into pieces as it landed on the floor. The liquid spilled all over her heels while it splashed onto yours. You winced at the noise while she stumbled back. It wasn't like the music in your apartment was loud either, so everyone heard the noise and her dramatic yelp.
All the attention was on you and Seolhyun now.
"Are you okay?" you asked, but the second you noticed her expression change, you realized what she was doing and regretted ever trying to be civil with her. A tear now trailed down her cheek and she looked as if she was about to cry.
“Look, I know it’s your birthday and all but you don’t have to be so mean. I only wanted to try on your necklace, you could’ve just said no instead of knocking the beer out of my hands." She covered her face with her hands and before you knew it, she was full-on sobbing. Seonghwa immediately ran to her.
“I swear I didn’t do that. She did it herself.” You tried to defend yourself but you knew it was a lost cause the moment you met Seonghwa's eyes. He looked at you with disgust as he pulled her into his arms. You rolled your eyes at how Seonghwa was buying this whole act.
“And why would she do that? What’s up with you lately? You’ve been so snappy these days. And now you go and do this?” Seonghwa raised his voice as he held her in his arms. All you could do was look blankly at him. He has never raised his voice at you before. You didn’t let the fact that he called you snappy in front of everyone deter you from defending yourself either.
“Nothing’s been up with me,” You said calmly. "This is just a huge misunderstanding. I really didn't do that."
“You should apologize," Seonghwa said sternly and once again, you were annoyed with him for always telling you what to do. You couldn’t believe how he was actually taking her side when he didn’t even know the full story or bothered to ask.
Regardless, you stood your ground. “I’m not apologizing for something I didn’t do. You’re really going to believe her over me?”
“Well I definitely don’t believe she would drop the beer all over her new shoes.”
Seolhyun looked back at you with 'fear' in her eyes and you had to laugh. This was your apartment, why were you even putting up with this? You were going to kick her out when the front door abruptly opened and Wooyoung walked in. You didn't expect him to come but you supposed Yunho had something to do with it.
A part of you was glad he came but now? Right in the middle of this stupid argument? You made eye contact with Wooyoung and he smiled softly at you. You tried to mirror his smile but yours turned out weak due to Seonghwa's accusations dampening your mood.
"Happy birthday, sorry I'm late, the traffic was bad and then I saw a stand with flowers and I wanted to get you a bouquet. Yunho said you liked roses right? I hope it's not too soon." Wooyoung rambled as he placed the gift bag and roses on the coffee table. He then glanced around the room and noticed that everyone was quiet and staring at him like he was a ghost. The only noise was from the faint music at this point and it didn't take long for him to realize that something was wrong.
Rage filled your blood as you met Seolhyun’s eyes again but you remained collected. You couldn’t believe Seonghwa was actually defending her and raising his voice at you in front of everyone at your birthday party. The Seonghwa you used to know wouldn't do this. And you weren't about to argue with him anymore. You placed your own beer on the counter before spitting one last thing, “You know what? I don’t care anymore. Believe her all you want but that's not what happened. The both of you just need to leave.”
You didn't bother to spare them another glance before storming off to your room and slamming the door.
You weren’t going to cry but you were definitely pissed at the whole situation being so unfair. You paced back and forth in your own room, not knowing where to go from here. How long would you even stay in your room before going outside again? It was going to be awkward with how everyone witnessed Seonghwa raising his voice at you and taking the new girl’s side.
It wouldn’t even be a full minute before you heard the door open and you slapped your head for forgetting to lock it. "I told you to leave," you exclaimed, expecting Seonghwa but to your surprise, it was Wooyoung and your tone softened. "Sorry, I thought you were someone else.”
"It's okay," he stuck his head in with a soft smile. "Can I come in?"
"Yeah, sure."
Wooyoung stepped in with the bouquet of roses. "Like I said earlier, I hope it’s not too soon but happy birthday.” He handed the bouquet to you and watched as you placed it onto your desk. After what just happened, Wooyoung really was like a breath of fresh air. He managed to ease your nerves while making your heart touched as well. "I heard what happened before I came too and I just wanted you to know that I believe you'd never do that to her without a good reason.”
Great, so did everyone believe you actually knocked the bottle out of her hands now?
"Thanks, but I really didn’t do it," you sighed, sitting on the edge of your bed, encouraging him to do the same. "I just wish my friend would believe me." You glanced down at your lap and picked at your cuticles. A part of you wished NingNing never planned this surprise party in the first place. Maybe then you’d still have your dignity and Seonghwa wouldn’t have humiliated you in front of everyone.
“I believe you.” The sound of Wooyoung’s soft voice made you glance over at him. He smiled genuinely and placed a hand over yours to stop your fidgeting.
“Thank you.” Your mouth went dry and you cleared your throat, avoiding his gaze. You didn't even have to look at him to know he was smirking.
"I like your room, by the way," he began, eyes taking in your walls full of posters and random pictures. You glanced around your room and it was a mess with all the decorations and stuff you hoarded. You couldn't help but think back to Seonghwa who always nagged at you to clean your room. It was definitely not a pretty room at all but you thanked Wooyoung anyway.
"Something catch your eye?" you asked, noticing how he was fixating on your shelves full of mostly romance books. You loved to read stories where people fell in love and got their happy ending. Because despite being cynical, you’ve always believed in true love and yearned for that through your collection of books.
"Do you read a lot?" He made his way towards the shelf and pulled out one of your dark romance books, flipping through it. Out of all the young adult and thriller books you had, why did he have to pick the one with the most explicit content?
"I try." You nervously chewed on the inside of your cheek. "But don't be impressed or anything. It's just romance stories, some thriller here and there, nothing educational." You let him do whatever until his eyes began to scan a page and he smirked, raising his eyebrows at you. That was when you snatched the book from him, realizing that out of all the pages he could've flipped to, he managed to land on a scene where the two main characters were being intimate.
"These books seem very educational to me. They’re fun," he teased. "Is this the type of stuff you're into?" He could not stop grinning as he stared at you. For the nth time that night, you were embarrassed, feeling heat rush up to your cheeks. You chose not to respond as you slipped the book back to its spot on the shelf. “Oh come on, I was joking,” he exhaled, “Are you mad?”
“I know. And I’m not.” You avoided his eyes.
Wooyoung chuckled before pushing a loose strand of hair behind your ear. “You're cute when you're shy, you know that? And since I haven’t told you yet, you look absolutely beautiful today.” He then cupped your cheek, forcing you to meet his eyes. “Should we go outside again? I bet your friends miss you. You are the main event after all. Birthday girl.” His breath hits your skin and your swallow was thick. A smirk tugged at his lips before his hand fell back to his side and he stepped back, leaving you absolutely flustered.
After a few seconds you finally managed to think again. You took a deep breath before leaning against your bookshelf. "I know I can't hide in my room all night but it was just so embarrassing how my friend took her side when he didn't even bother to ask me what happened. Does everyone really think I’d be that petty to knock a beer out of her hands? It’s my apartment after all and I’d be the one that’ll have to mop up the stickiness later.” You rambled, hoping Wooyoung would at least take your side.
“They’re your friends aren’t they? I'm sure they'll understand if you explain the situation.”
“It's still embarrassing,” you groaned.
Wooyoung reached for your hands, pulling you closer towards him. His breath fanned over you as he softly asked, “Do you trust me?”
“I barely know you.”
“Then get to know me." His eyes flickered between your lips and eyes as he wets his own lips. You were almost sure he was going to kiss you as he stared at you. But he didn’t. The only thing you felt was the squeeze he gave your hand. “What do you say?” he mumbled.
“Yeah, I’d like that.” Your voice was barely above a whisper as you smiled back at him.
Wooyoung then reached for the door knob when it abruptly swung open, causing you to jump, your free hand flying to your chest to calm your beating heart. Wooyoung was calm amidst it all and let out a small chuckle at how easily frightened you got.
Upon seeing who it was, you grimaced. Never have you actually been more annoyed to see Seonghwa. "Shouldn't you be with your girlfriend right now?" you asked, bitterness laced in your tone.
“We need to talk," he insisted, ignoring your question. His eyes drifted to your hands that were currently intertwined with Wooyoung's and he cleared his throat. Avoiding Wooyoung's presence, he only looked up at you. “We weren’t done talking earlier.”
“What's there to talk about?" you genuinely asked as you let go of Wooyoung's hand. "You won’t believe anything I say anyway so why don’t you just leave?”
“Can we talk alone?” Seonghwa was unyielding, glaring at Wooyoung now who heaved a sigh. You could tell Wooyoung was the type to bark back but for some reason, he held off.
Wooyoung took the hint and smiled at you before leaning towards your ear. “I’ll be waiting outside when you’re done.” And something about his low voice gave you butterflies.
When he left, Seonghwa turned back to you with the look of an overprotective father who caught a boy sneaking into his daughter’s room. “So what? You and him made out?”
“None of your business." You crossed your arms against your chest. “Just say what you want to say and leave.”
“Fine. You should apologize to Seolhyun, you made her cry.”
You scoffed, as if it was your fault.
At this point, you didn’t even care to be affable anymore. Not when he was acting like he was the boss of you. “Is your hearing okay? I meant it the first time, I’m not apologizing for something I didn’t do so you’re wasting your time with us ‘talking’ because I can assure you, this conversation will go nowhere.”
“Why do you always have to be so stubborn? You know I like Seolhyun so just why can’t you try to be nice and get along with her? You used to be so supportive for me, what happened to you? She’s the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
“I still am supportive for you." Your brows pulled together. "I really didn’t spill her drink though. She did it herself.”
“You need to stop lying.”
“I'm not lying." You were raising your voice at a wall at this point. "Just why can't you believe me? You didn't even bother to ask for my side of the story before running to her. You've known me for over two years now while you barely know her yet you just trust everything she says? How do you think that makes me feel?"
“Not everything is about you.” He exhaled. “Look, I wasn’t going to say anything, but you’ve been different the past week. You’ve never been like this before.” He rubbed his temple, seemingly in a train of thought. “It's because of that Wooyoung guy isn't it? I knew it was only a matter of time before he’d rub off on you.”
“What does he have to do with this? I’ve only known him for a week so he hasn’t rubbed shit on me. And for the last time, I didn't spill her drink. We were just talking about you, she said she liked my necklace, and then she just dropped the beer herself.” Your blood was boiling with how he wouldn't even listen to a word you said. It was like Seolhyun had him wrapped around her little finger.
“That's not what she told me." He crossed his arms against his chest and pursed his lips.
“Well it's the truth." You clenched your jaw. You were all worked up now, and before you could even filter your thoughts, you just spoke your mind. "She’s a liar Seonghwa, just when will you realize it? But then again she's pretty so of course you'd do anything to get in her pants even if you know I'm right.”
“So that's why you've been acting like this?" He lets out a small laugh, tilting his head back as he poked the inside of his cheek with his tongue. "You're jealous that she's pretty? Is that why you knocked the drink out of her hands? That's real low Y/N, even for you."
"Trust me,” you fumed. “I am not jealous of her." It was a lie, but you weren't about to lose the argument now.
"Doesn’t seem like it to me.” He lets out a deep sigh. “I'm really trying here but you just keep lying. All we do is bicker these days Y/N. What happened to us?"
"I could ask the same."
Seonghwa nodded before snapping. “You know what? You were right, this conversation is useless. Let's just end it here because it clearly isn't going anywhere. I don't know what happened to make you like this recently but jealousy and this new attitude of yours isn’t a good look on you.” He looked you dead in the eyes one last time to say, “Happy fucking birthday,” before slamming the door in your face. Seonghwa rarely cursed, so when he did, that was when you knew that he was really mad. Although you said some mean things too, it was only because he was being unfair. You felt so betrayed.
So much for your special day, you thought. And you didn't even need to confess your feelings to him for the memories of him to taint your birthday.
You never thought loving someone could hurt so much. Tears filled your vision as you stumbled to the edge of your bed. You felt like your world just collapsed because for the past two years, Seonghwa was the constant in your life, the one you went to for advice, the one you leaned on.
And now he was someone else’s.

I have only posted this here and on AO3 - user: spookwyrdie
The words bounced around Jisung’s mind as he quickly turned the key in his ignition, roaring his car to life.
“You have ten minutes to be at my front door… If you want another demonstration,” Chan had said and then the line went dead. Anticipation flooded Jisung’s veins as his heart pounded.
After the first moan he heard from you on the phone, he felt his cock twitch and immediately got up to leave the club, nearly jogging to his car. He couldn’t be around the thumping bass while he was trying to focus on the little whimpers that would leave your throat while Chan fucked you with his mouth. He needed to be in an enclosed space so he could really focus on picturing your face when you were mewling. Jisung could hear the slick noises your cunt was making in the background - it made him feel feral.
It was bad enough that he got hard on the dance floor from you grinding into his thigh. It had started out innocent enough, just helping a friend out while she tried to coax her man to the dance floor. But then you went from zero to sixty, turning around and rolling your hips back into him, pressing your ass directly into his cock. He loved Chan, one of his best friends, always quick with good banter, but he couldn’t ignore how he’s always thought you were dripping with sensuality. It would do him no good to pine after a woman so wrapped up in his friend, so he compartmentalized that feeling so he could enjoy your company. But then you pressed your body up against his and his grip on that boundary loosened. It was so easy to help you out, to challenge Chan, by getting caught up in the way you danced with him.
The eye contact he had made with Chan was electric, taking the sensation of you grinding on him and ramping up the voltage to a dangerous level. His eyes met Chan’s across the room and it was like the three of you were the only people in the room. He was obsessed with the way he had made Chan’s jaw clench while he watched you rocking your hips on Jisung’s thigh. The way the perfume on your neck lingered in his nose, the way your lip caught between your teeth, fuck… it was all too much.
Being on the other line of that phone call had been the exact type of torture Jisung loves. His cock was straining against the material of his pants while he drove, images of you on his thigh with Chan glaring at him over your shoulder flashed through his mind. Every new little noise of yours that floated out through his phone’s speaker had him pulsating. He zoned out while on his way over to the house you shared with Chan, wondering what the night had in store for the three of you.
He arrived, pulling into the driveway, and killed the engine. He sat for a moment, steeling his nerves before he built up the courage to approach the house and ring the doorbell.
Chan answered the door after a moment, cocking an eyebrow and giving Jisung a cocky grin. “It’s been exactly 9 minutes and 43 seconds. Good job following directions.”
Jisung rolled his eyes at the older man, a thrill running through him at the repartee still present from earlier in the night. “Well, it sounded like it might be more fun than the club, anyway,” he replied.
“I bet it did,” Chan said, opening the door wide and gesturing for Jisung to enter. He had a glass with one finger of whiskey in it, swirling around as he waved his arm. “Follow me.”
~~~
The flickering in the fireplace had you in a trance as you came back into your body. You sat on the couch, tucked away in the corner cushions of the sectional, reeling after Chan had you coming undone in the back of a limo such a short time ago. Chan had gently half-walked, half-carried you into the house, sat you down, and fetched a cold water bottle for you that you were currently sipping. He was currently massaging your wrists where his belt had bitten into your skin, leaving behind red marks and a lovely sting. His eyes were full of affection as he gently rubbed over your sore wrists, murmuring little praises here and there.
“You did really well on the drive home, sweet thing,” he said, bringing your hand to his lips and planting small kisses on your inner wrist. “How are you feeling?”
“So good,” you hummed as you sank into the couch.
“Do you feel up to playing a little more tonight?”
Chan’s eyes appraised you while you assessed yourself. Having one incendiary orgasm in the back of a limo on his tongue was amazing, but the dull throb was still present between your legs. You felt like that was only a taste of what was to come, so you just needed a moment to catch your breath before the next onslaught of sensation.
“Yeah,” you reply, pulling him towards you by the hand, pressing a slow kiss to his lips. You poured all the gratitude and emotion you felt tonight into that kiss. “I still need you.”
“Excellent. Cumming on my face once isn’t enough retribution for your little show this evening,” Chan said, pulling away slightly, dipping back into the dominant energy from earlier that evening. “We’re just waiting for the rest of our party to join us before I finish the lesson.”
At that, the doorbell rang, your eyes wide, arousal churning in your belly. You had fully spaced out when Chan had invited - no, commanded - Jisung to come over. Truthfully, you hadn’t really expected him to show up. But now that you knew he was here, that ache between your legs became more persistent.
For a while now, you’ve had an attraction to Jisung that you mostly ignored. You enjoyed how he and Chan would bounce off one another, they always made for an entertaining conversation. You usually kept your eyes from wandering too far, but you weren’t blind. Jisung was hot, with his broad shoulders and small waist. He had let his hair get shaggy over the last few months and you had been wanting to sink your fingers into it for a while now.
When the two of you discussed bringing in a third sometime, Jisung’s name got floated, and you hadn’t stopped thinking about it since then. Tonight was an accidental catalyst, provoking Chan’s possessive nature while testing the waters with Jisung. The memory of your hips rocking against his thigh while Chan trailed kisses up your neck hit you suddenly with a bolt of desire, ringing around in your chest and building deep in your core. You shift your legs as Jisung walks into the living room with Chan, and feel how slick you were already just from thinking about that moment on the dance floor.
Chan has a hand around Jisung’s shoulder as they amble in. “Sweet thing, I was just going over some ground rules for us to all follow for tonight.” He stops Jisung in front of the massive sectional couch you’re sitting on, sliding the younger’s jacket from his shoulders. Chan patted his shoulder and squeezed.
“The most important rule of the night is that you both do what I say. Agreed?” Chan says as he walks around the back of the couch, slinging the jacket over the back cushions.
You murmur a reply and Jisung nods silently.
“Voices, I need to HEAR you.”
“Yes, Chan,” the two of you say in near unison.
“Better,” he clips out. He meanders around the other side of the couch towards you, offering you a hand to stand. You wobble to your knees, still finding your balance, and he pulls you across the room towards the one armchair in front of the fire. “Ji, take a seat on the couch. Get comfortable.”
Jisung moves to take the seat you were just occupying, studying the two of you across the room in the flickering light. There’s a tension in his features, something sultry but a little nervous painting his features. Chan pulls you into his embrace, caressing up your arms. Gently grabbing your face, he draws you close for a kiss. His lips meet yours, tender yet filled with heat. You melt into him, his hands wandering to the back of your neck and up into your hair. His short nails dig into your scalp rhythmically, a soothing touch to match the fire that burned through you. You know beyond measure that anything that happens tonight is built on a solid foundation of love and safety.
Chan pulls away, taking you by the shoulders and turns you to face Jisung. Standing behind you, his hands roam your body, fingers trailing along your outline. He’s the one presenting you to Jisung this time, a mirror image of your position earlier this evening. You’re like putty in his hands, malleable and warm. His eyes are on Jisung’s, taunting him with your body.
His fingers slip to the back of your dress, pulling the zipper down bit by bit, pressing a kiss to the back of your neck. Jisung’s eyes are glued to your form, a faint blush on his cheeks as you watch him wet his lips with his pink tongue. Chan glides his hands under the straps of your dress and edges the fabric down your shoulders. He’s peeling your dress off of you slowly until it falls to the floor in a heap. You are fully naked now since your dress couldn’t accommodate a bra and your panties are still in Chan’s pocket.
Jisung’s eyes widen as he drinks in the sight of your body. Chan’s hands slide up from your waist to cup your breasts and grips onto them. His fingers brush against your nipples, stopping to roll them between his fingers, having you gasping at the touch. One hand moves to your neck while the other snakes down to your mound, teasing and caressing over the neat thatch of hair framing your cunt. The way his fingers dance along your skin have you shaking in his grip.
He maneuvers your body over to the armchair and sits with you on his lap, on display for Jisung. You can feel how hard his cock is, still trapped in his pants, pressing into your skin where you’re perched on his lap. Chan hooks his chin over your shoulder, hand drifting towards your glistening folds, and he smiles lazily at the younger man across the room. “She’s already had one orgasm tonight, but look how eager she is for another.”
He spreads your lips as you whimper, clenching around nothing. That hot bolt of embarrassment shoots through you again, but quickly morphs into lust when you see the look on Jisung’s face. He’s taking in your fucked out state, his mouth open in awe. Chan’s fingers start drawing lazy circles around your clit, barely applying any pressure, but just enough to chase his touch with your hips. His other hand snakes to the back of your head, clutching your hair again.
“You had my mouth earlier, now I want yours,” Chan hisses low in your ear. You nod feverishly and slide onto the floor on your knees, twisting your body so you’re facing Chan. You are perfectly slotted between his thighs, waiting for instruction.
“Well? You know how buttons work,” he says, full of snark. You scramble to untuck his button up shirt and undo his pants, focused on getting his cock into your mouth as fast as possible. Chan grabs your hands when he notices they’re shaking a little, smoothing his thumbs over your knuckles. You meet his eye and in a calm voice, he says, “Slow down. We’re only just getting started, sweet thing.”
You nod, take a deep breath, and unbutton his pants. You pull them down just past his hips, enough to dip your hand under the waistband of his underwear and pull him out. His neglected cock is a throbbing red. The tip leaks a little when you finally wrap your hands around him. You smile eagerly, looking up to Chan for permission.
He nods. You lick him from base to tip slowly. Hovering over the tip by a few millimeters, you drip saliva off of your tongue onto him. He hisses through clenched teeth as you slowly sink your hot mouth onto him, swirling your tongue around his tip. You moan at the taste of him, salt and musk, something so essentially Chan. He grunts and his hips buck into your mouth at your moan reverberating through him.
“Fffuck, so good,” he grits out. “Take me all in.”
You feel him twitch in your mouth, bobbing up and down his shaft slowly. Relaxing your throat, you take him further in, your hand holding on to whatever you can’t fit in your mouth. Drool spills out of the sides of your mouth, the noises coming from your mouth getting sloppier. Chan’s hips start matching your rhythm, little grunts escaping his throat as you suck harder, hollowing your cheeks. He groans at the pressure in the vacuum of your mouth.
Suddenly his hips still, you look up at him through your lashes. He’s glaring across the room at Jisung. The younger man’s hand is on his cock, palming himself over his jeans.
“Did I say you could touch yourself?”
“But, hyung…”
“No.” Chan bites out. “Hands off until I say so.”
Jisung clenches his jaw but does as he’s told. His hands rest on the tops of his thighs, fingers gripping into the fabric.
“Good,” Chan says, gripping onto your hair once again. He pulls you gently off of his cock with a lewd pop! and takes hold of your jaw, making you look up at him.
“I think he deserves a little treat for being such a good listener, don’t you?”
“Mhmm,” you hum, batting your eyelashes at him.
Chan grins wide, his dimples showing. He runs his tongue over his teeth briefly as something wicked tinges his eyes. You look up at him eagerly. With your chin in his hand, he pulls your wet panties out of his pocket. His fingers press on the side of your cheeks, popping your mouth open, his eyes glowing with affection and pride at your easy submission. He loves knowing exactly how keen you are to put your full trust in him.
He takes the elastic and presses it into your mouth.
“Bite.”
Your teeth grab onto the garment, still soaked in your essence. You’re still looking at Chan expectantly, waiting for his next command.
“Take those over to Ji,” he says. “On your knees.”
You turn, eyes locking onto Jisung’s face, as you start to crawl across the floor to him. Being on your knees makes you feel more animal than human, a feral lust growing with every move. Hips swaying back and forth, you note how Jisung’s gaze follows the movement like a hypnotist’s pocket watch. When you get to his lap, you slot yourself in between his thighs, still holding the panties between your teeth.
“Jisung, hold out your hand.”
The younger man’s eyes flick between your face and Chan’s across the room. He places his palm up, cupping it like he’s waiting to hold water in his palm.
“Drop.”
Chan is stern from across the room, his unemotional commanding voice sending a shiver of pleasure through you. You can hear the dominance in his tone, thankful you’re already on your knees. You drop the wet panties into Jisung’s waiting hand. He closes his fingers over them with a gasp and brings them to his nose. At the scent of you, his eyes flutter shut and a deep groan rumbles through his chest. When he opens his eyes again, they’re full of undiluted hunger as he pockets the panties.
You turn to look over your shoulder at Chan. He’s still in the chair, lazily pumping his cock in his fist. “Why don’t you sit on Jisung’s lap, sweet thing. He needs it.”
You crawl up Jisung’s body, his eyes never leaving your form. You rest a knee on either side of him, straddling his body. You grip onto his shoulders as you slowly sit yourself down. Resting at the crux of your thighs, you can feel the swell of his cock pressing eagerly against the fabric of his jeans.
“Hi,” you say, suddenly bashful at your nudity against his clothed body.
“Hi yourself,” he murmurs, a small smile gracing his heart shaped lips. “Can I touch you?”
You nod.
“Can I touch her, hyung?” Jisung’s eyes never leave yours as he asks.
Chan’s eyes are bright as he grins, “Yes, good job asking.”
Jisung puts his hands on your thighs as he drifts them up towards your hips. Snaking around your frame, he grips onto your ass, yanking your body towards him a few inches. You lean against him closer, knocked off balance by his pull. In unison, you both moan at the drag of your core against his cock. The distance between your faces close, your eyes flit between his gaze and his open mouth, ready to descend onto him.
“Can I kiss him, Chan? Please,” you whine, desperate to feel Ji’s lips on yours. The silent pause in the room is overwhelming as you feel Jisung’s hands kneading into your flesh.
“Sure, sweet thing. Show him how good you feel.”
You surge forward as Jisung meets you halfway, closing that small distance between your mouths. Your teeth bump together in the frenzy, making you giggle into his mouth. You whisper a quick apology as Jisung slides his hand into your hair to ease your face away from his for a moment, smiling against your lips. He holds you steady while he goes in again for a kiss, slower and more steady, slanting his lip on yours with a confident determination. He pulls your bottom lip into his mouth, nibbling lighty, smirking with his half smile when he hears you gasp.
Your hands grasp at the fabric of his shirt, bunching it up in your hands and pulling. The idea of his skin on yours has you feeling hot, needing to feel him as soon as possible.
“Shirt. Off. Now,” you grunt out, your brain is too preoccupied to form a full sentence.
He chuckles as he pulls away, tugging his shirt off quickly. His wavy hair falls into his eyes as you grab his face to kiss him again. You lick lightly against his lips, asking for permission to deepen the kiss. He obliges, tilting his head and gliding his tongue against yours.
Jisung’s hands roam around your body, trying to learn your shape from feeling alone. One hand grabs the back of your neck as the other finds your hip again as he encourages you to grind into him again. The pressure he applies to your neck as he kneads has the tendons and muscles around your spine jolting with a shock of desire, the sensitive nerves zing! through your body. You lean fully into him now, breasts pressed up against his chest, mewling when his hips roll up into yours, nudging a blissful friction against your clit. Grinding your hips down onto him, your arousal coats the seam of his jeans as you find a rhythm that leaves both of you panting.
“Fuck, y/n,” Jisung grunts into your mouth before he starts kissing along your jaw. “Better than I ever imagined.”
“You’ve imagined this?” you ask, hips still rolling against his.
“Dreamed of it once or twice,” he murmurs against your skin.
He licks a stripe down your neck, biting down just below your ear, your hips shuddering against him. Every part of your body that is touching his is on fire, a tingling erupting on your skin as your nipples brush against his as you rut against his clothed cock. You’re getting lost in the sensation, groaning at the heat of his mouth as he sucks against your neck. You speed up your hips until you feel another pair of hands on your waist.
Chan looms behind you, slowing your hips down and directing the flow of motion against Jisung. Leaning towards your ear, he whispers, “Not yet, sweet thing.”
“Hyung, wait-” the younger man starts to say as you lean into Chan’s touch, still rolling your hips into Jisung.
“Ji, you’re wearing far too many clothes. Y/n, help him out.”
You drop down to your knees again, using Chan as a support for your shaking legs. Your hands fly to the jeans, the seam covering his zipper damp with your arousal, giggling as you undo his pants. Tugging down on his remaining clothes, Jisung’s cock springs free from its confines, slapping wetly against his lower belly. You lean forward to get a taste, but Chan winds his fingers into your hair, holding your head a few inches  away from Jisung’s cock. You stick your tongue out as far as it will reach, trying to touch him, to lick against him.
A loud slap echoes in the air as Chan brings his hand down on your ass, your hips spasming beneath him. Another slap on the other cheek has you whining, stinging pleasure and blooming pain light up in your core. You’re left clenching around nothing again, arching your back, another wave of hot arousal pumping through your abdomen.
“You have to ask if you want a taste.” Chan grits out. “Do you want to taste Ji?”
You can’t even speak, you just moan in  response and nod. “P-please.”
“Ji, do you want to feel what her hot little mouth can do?”
Jisung’s cock twitches against his belly as his hips shake. “God, yes,” he gasps out.
Chan still holds your hair, not letting you move just yet. He takes his time, suspended in this moment of control.
“I bet Ji would taste so good on your tongue, it looks like his cock would feel heavy as he pulsates in your mouth.”
You raise your eyes to meet Chan’s pleadingly.
“And Ji, I know how soft and wet her mouth is. But when she sucks down hard? Fucking heaven.”
Jisung whines this time, his hips bucking up. The tip of his cock coming within millimeters of your mouth. Chan just laughs, gripping hard on your hair before releasing you suddenly.
“Go ahead, give it a try,” he says, pulling his own shirt off.
You take no time pouncing on Jisung’s lap, engulfing him with your mouth, taking him in as far as you can. He nearly cries, choking on a moan from the onslaught of pleasure. Your hands rest on his hip bones, pressing him into the couch as he tries to thrust up into your mouth.
“FUCK!” he yells, as your nails dig into his flesh. His hands fly out, grasping onto your hair as he bucks into your mouth, legs quivering beneath you. You whimper from the pull on your scalp, eyes fluttering closed at the intensity of his grip and the taste of him. Jisung’s hips start to stutter, arms flying up to grab the back of the couch, babbling about how hot your mouth is as you suck him down. Chan’s hand suddenly snatches the hair at the nape of your neck, pulling you away from Jisung’s cock with a wet pop! A string of saliva still connects your tongue to the tip of his cock.
“HYUNG, WHAT THE FU-” Jisung starts to yell, cock bobbing as his hips chase after your mouth.
“Hush.” Chan barks out, silencing him. He pulls you up to a standing position. “Remember the most important rule of the night?”
Jisung sits up, crossing his arms. “We do whatever you say,” he says, huffing, still trying to catch his breath. “But you didn’t say anything that time!”
Chan just laughs. “I know. Isn’t it fun?”
He goes to sit on the couch next to Jisung, taking your hand and pulling you down on his lap. Chan’s fully naked behind you, adjusting himself so his cock sits right between your folds. He pulls your back against his chest, leaning you back so your head rests on his shoulder. You loll your head to the side and look at Jisung, reaching out a grabby hand for him to come closer.
“Ji, come here and admire her,” Chan beckons. Jisung moves over closer to your body, but Chan takes an arm and pulls him in even tighter, leaning up against Chan’s side. “She needs another kiss, I think.”
This time, Jisung cups your face as he presses his lips against yours again. Instead of a feverish heat, it’s tender, more curious. Your tongues explore each other’s mouths, drawing breathy whimpers from your throat. Chan lifts Jisung’s hand that’s cupping your face and places it on your breast. He squeezes the soft mound, grazing over your nipple. It makes your hips spasm and a grunt leaves Chan’s throat, your cunt sliding over his cock.
Chan’s hips thrust upwards, slipping through your wet folds and dragging along your swollen clit. You cry out into Jisung’s mouth. Chan’s hips shudder with effort, he loves taking his time even if it drives you both insane. The blunt head of his cock slides against your clit, building that friction again, your essence mixing with the arousal leaking out of his tip. He groans against your skin, biting into your shoulder as his hand drifts down, fingers finding the sensitive bundle of nerves. He draws lazy circles around your clit while Jisung starts to kiss down your neck towards your breasts. He flicks his tongue over your nipple, looking up at you, giving you that cocky sideways grin again.
You’re writhing under their combined torture - Jisung teasing your nipples and Chan teasing your clit. You feel your muscles flutter with an edge of frustration, clenching around nothing, begging to be filled.
“Chan, fucking…please,” you gasp, picking your head up from his shoulder to meet his gaze.
“Please what?”
“Please fuck me,” you whine, hips grinding down on his cock, still teasing you relentlessly.
“Well,” he says, his voice a little strained. “Since you asked so nicely…”
He lifts your hips a few inches higher so his tip catches on your opening. Readjusting, he sinks you slowly onto him, groaning through a clenched jaw. You’re so slick and warm, the squeeze of your walls almost enough to do him in right then and there. He stills beneath you, allowing you a moment to adjust to the stretch and for him to catch his breath so he doesn’t immediately bust inside you. The way you’re whimpering and rocking against him is almost too much.
“Jisung, kiss her. Shut her up,” he grits out.
Jisung obliges, shifting back up to your face and capturing your lips again, biting down on your bottom lip sadistically. Chan focuses on finding your rhythm, starting off at an excruciatingly slow pace. Each flick of his hips drives into you forcefully. The room fills with the sound of skin slapping wetly as your hips meet his. He bottoms out in you, groaning against your neck as he holds you tight in his embrace.
He tears your face away from Jisung, pulling your lips to his, stealing any air you had left with the way his cock plunges into you. Jisung pulls your face back towards him, taking your lips and tongue for his own again. Chan growls at this, fisting his hand into the younger man’s hair, pulling him off of you and up to his eye level. Jisung’s tongue is pressed against the side of his open mouth, hooded eyes appraising Chan.
“What, hyung? Isn’t it fun?” Jisung smirks, echoing Chan’s earlier sentiment.
Chan’s jaw clenches for a split second before crashing his lips against the Jisung’s. Their own battle of hot annoyance mixed with pent up lust and power ignite between the two. Tongues lash out, groaning into each other's mouths. You fuck yourself onto Chan’s cock while your hand reaches out to wrap around Jisung’s. He thrusts himself into your fist while his lips are still wrapped around Chan’s, biting down on the elder’s plush bottom lip.
Chan pulls Jisung’s face away again, both panting into each other's mouths.
“Look at her doing all the work for the three of us,” nodding towards you writhing against him while your hand fists around Jisung’s cock. “Put your mouth to better use, Ji.”
He lightly pushes Jisung’s head away, motioning down towards where Chan is still inside you. Jisung drops to the floor, shuffling closer to your cunt as Chan resumes thrusting into you.
Jisung drifts his hands up your thighs to your cunt, gently pulling your lips open and watching Chan’s cock disappear inside of you. The way he’s awestruck at the sight of your glistening cunt greedily sucking Chan in has you trembling.
“Jisung,” you whine. “Make me cum.”
He wastes no time diving right into you, mouth first, groaning at the taste of you. You whine pitifully at the feel of his tongue. He laps at your clit, licking up all of your juices that have mixed with Chan’s. His tongue swirls around your cunt and you begin to feel yourself tightening, your muscles clenching around Chan. It’s hard to remember to breathe when white hot pleasure is pulsing through you with every flick of Jisung’s tongue. Chan is groaning in your ear as Ji’s tongue dips down and runs along the underside of Chan, licking a stripe from cock to cunt.
Chan’s thrusts get sloppier and he slips out of you, the blunt head of his cock nudges harshly against your clit in such a way that has you moaning. Jisung wraps his hand around Chan’s cock and takes the tip into his mouth, flicking his tongue on the sensitive nerve on the underside of his tip, teasing him mercilessly. This time, Chan whines, bucking up toward Jisung before the younger pulls him out of his mouth. He grins up at both of you as he pushes Chan back inside you.
Your eyes roll back as Chan pounds into you, chasing his own high, Jisung’s tongue still lashing against your clit. You’re not sure when you started crying, but tears stream down your face, desperate to come undone, overwhelmed by the way these two men handle your body with deft precision. You feel yourself brought to the edge again, pleading them to push you over.
“Cha-Chan,” you whimper, “c-can I cum?”
His hips start to stutter again at how pathetic you sound, crying out his name like that. Still, in his desperation to fill you up, he finds it in himself to drag it out a little longer.
“You forgot…” he grits out, each word staccato as he slams himself into you. “Say please.”
“PLEASE!” You wail.
“Yes!” is all he can get out before your vision goes white, your body convulsing against his with a pitiful cry. Jisung uses this opportunity to pull your clit into the heat of his mouth, sucking hard against the sensitive bundle of nerves. You feel the orgasm crash through you, gushing on Chan’s cock and Jisung’s tongue, heart beating erratically as they fuck you through it, fingers tangling in Jisung’s hair. Chan loses himself in the way your muscles clench down on him and the way Jisung is drooling on his cock, he groans loudly in your ear as he spills inside of you. You go limp in his grasp.
His hips still as he feels some of his cum drip out of where you’re still connected. His cock is softening, spent from the exertion, your body took everything from him this evening. Jisung tentatively presses his tongue against you, sending a jolt of overstimulation through you. He tastes the mix of you and Chan together as the two of you above him catch your breath.
Chan gently slides his cock out of you, his seed leaking out of you slowly. Your whole body is buzzing, you feel like you’re drifting through puffy clouds. Jisung whines at the sight of you dripping onto Chan’s softening cock. The elder laughs, spreading your lips wide so Jisung can get a better look.
“Poor Jisung,” Chan teases. “You and your poor little cock still haven’t gotten to feel her yet.”
“Hyung…” Jisung whines, a blush creeping up his cheeks again.
“Well, if you want my seconds,” Chan says, petting the younger’s head lovingly, “You better ask her if she’s up for it.”
You look down at Jisung, big brown eyes searching yours, pleading.
“Y/n…”
“Yes, come here,” you say, reaching out your hands again. “Wanna make you feel good too.”
Jisung crawls up your body, pressing eager kisses up your torso and chest before settling his hips between your thighs, cock twitching against your swollen clit. You pull his face to yours, sloppily kissing him, too exhausted to do much else. Chan’s hands find your thighs and lift them, pulling them towards your chest and bending you in half. Jisung ruts against your clit, but you’re so sensitive, you whine into his mouth.
“Fuck me, Jisung,” you gasp. “Fill me up.”
He groans, the tip of his cock finding your dripping entrance, and pushing in. He bottoms out all the way, the combination of your arousal and Chan having stretched you open perfectly, has Jisung enveloped in the warmth of your core all the way to his pelvis. The way his cock drags against your walls as he nuzzles his face against your neck has you approaching your peak again.
“Y/n… I’m n-not gonna last long…” he whines against you.
One of Chan’s hands sneaks down between your bodies, gently rubbing circles around your aching clit. He whispers filthy praise into your ear.
“That’s it, sweet thing,” he murmurs. “Show Jisung how good he makes you feel.”
You cry out, bucking against Jisung as his hips speed up, gripping onto your body as he hammers into you. A new sensation builds from this angle, a pressure building in your cunt.
“FUCK, y/n!” Jisung cries as his hips stutter, slamming into you with force.
Your second orgasm bursts forth, this time squirting out onto Jisung. The slick, wet sounds combined with your screams fills the room. Your whole body trembles as your muscles spasm around Jisung’s cock. He collapses against you, his hips stilling as he spurts inside of you. Your eyes roll shut and you take a deep shuddering breath, sucking oxygen into your lungs. Your body still tremors, the aftershocks of your orgasm jolting through your muscles every few seconds. You’re floating above your body right now as you’re sandwiched between the two bodies of the men you adore.
After a few moments, Chan groans, “You two are CRUSHING me.”
All you can do is hum as Jisung melts into a puddle on the floor, body half slung over the edge of the couch. He looks up at the two of you with a dopey, fucked out smile on his heart shaped lips.
Chan slides out carefully from beneath you, rearranging your limbs on the couch so you’re laying down, propped up with a few pillows. He picks up Jisung from the edge of the couch, basically a puddle of a human being, and coaxes him into your arms. The younger man melts into your embrace, pushing his face into your chest with a sigh. Chan presses a light kiss to each of your foreheads.
“I’m going to go grab us some water,” he grins. “You two need to rehydrate.”
He plods away as you and Jisung ground yourselves in the moment, slowing down your heart rates. You rub your fingers sluggishly up and down his back, your fingers finding purchase in his hair. Raking your nails over his scalp, he groans into the soft touch, planting small kisses into your skin. Eventually he raises his head to look at you.
“How was that?”
“So, so good,” you murmur, your voice gravelly from exertion. “I’m getting a bit chilly though.”
The sheen of sweat against your naked bodies was finally cooling off. Even by the heat from the fire, now embers in the fireplace, you were relaxed enough that a shiver ran through you. Jisung lifts his head, finding his shirt and jacket, and drags them sleepily off the back of the couch to cover you. The clothes land directly on your head and you both giggle. He pulls them gently off your face, an exhausted gummy smile greeting you. He presses a chaste kiss to your lips, your heart fluttering with a newer emotion.
Chan returns, black sweatpants slung low on his hips as he carries a few water bottles and some snacks into the living room.
“Well, don’t you two look cozy,” he says, a bright smile on his face.
“Hyung, I wasn’t-” Jisung begins, anxiety creeping up his throat,
“Sshhh,” Chan soothes him. “I had fun, you had fun, she had fun. It’s not complicated.”
“Are you sure?”
Chan smooths his hand down Jisungs hair then moves to cup your chin, grazing thumb over your lips. You smile and press a tiny kiss to the pad of his thumb.
“Yeah, I’m sure.” Chan smiles with only affection in his eyes. “Now come on, the bed is big enough for the three of us.”
Taste for Older Men
•⚰️🍂🍑•
Summary: Growing up with you never had much interest in boys your age but when your dads best friends stuck around more everything changed
Pairing: Cowboy Negan x f!reader
Warnings: age gap, evil boyfriend
•Masterlist•
Tumblr media
Song Recommendation: White Mustang-Lana Del Rey
Growing up I never understood all my friends having crushes on guys in our class, I mean they were so immature and not even cute so I never had a reason to try things out and explore like so many people my age, because I knew what I liked……and that is older men, I never realized until my dads best friend moved to town and started coming over more and more, I never acted on it because obviously it’s inappropriate but god did I want to
I graduated school and went to college online so I could work on my dads farm to help out and save up some money, it just made everything easier, then I graduate college and Negan lost his farm hand so dad got me to help him out and get my sister to work on our family farm instead
I’ve only been working with Negan for a month and it’s been killing me, every glance, everytime he’d wrap his arms around me to show me the “proper” way to do something, had me wanting more than just a farm hand, I want to feel loved, I tried to get over Negan with a guy from town, he was sweet when we first started dating, the flowers before dates and opening doors and the good mornings texts but in all honesty it always felt like he was just a friend a really close guy friend but I guess this I how it’s suppose to feel right?
But now he’s mean, always calls drunk and when we’re out at gatherings he treats me like a toy to parade around but I don’t know how to leave him and god do I want to so badly
That leads to today Negan was coming over to our house for a barbecue so it’s a perfect chance to doll myself up compared to farming clothes, I finished off my makeup and pulled on a a ivory sundress, I made my way downstairs seeing my mom finishing off some salads as dad was out setting up everything
“Well don’t you look like a fresh flower in spring! Are you all dolled up for Mark?” My heart dropped
“What……what do you mean I’m staying here for supper!”
“Well dad said he ran into Mark today at the garage and invited him over, Negans never met him so why not introduce them it’ll be fun!” I tried to keep a chipper expression but I felt like screaming inside, the door bell rang alerting someone was here
“Could you get that dear I’m still finishing up here”
I walked over to the door relieved to see Negan standing there instead of Mark, I let out a breathe he obviously noticed
“You alright darling?”
“What? Oh yeah I’m finally just…..never mind please come in” I said nervously stepping to the side to clear the door way
“Old man said you’re boyfriends coming around tonight” he said with a hint of displease
“Does that man talk to everyone god” I groan
“What don’t want me meeting the guy who’s got my girl all worried” my heart did a flip at the words ‘my girl’ but I couldn’t think on it too long when a knock came from the door and my mood plummeted
With a shaky hand I open the door and there stood my walking nightmare that fake smile plastered on his smug face
“Hey babe thanks for the invite, had to hear from you old man” he says as he pulled me close by my hip a hint of anger in his voice
“I’m sorry it……it just slipped my mind” my voice wavered as he squeezed my hip, Negan cleared his throat
“Oh mark this is Negan, Negan this is Mark”
“So this is the Negan that always takes up all your time on that damn farm”
“Mark you know it’s my job and I love working there…….please you just got here” I whisper the last part, looking at Negan who had a shocked look on his face, definitely not expecting this to be my boyfriend
Tumblr media
We all were sitting out on the back porch with the lowering sun basking us in golden light, a slight breeze in the air making a chill running down my spine, as dad laid the food on the table for everyone
“Here take my plaid you gotta be freezing” Negan said draping his brown and green longsleeve plaid over my shoulders, his cologne surrounding my senses
“I’m right here man” Mark barked from my other side
“Mark he was just being nice it’s fine”
“That’s what you always say”
“And what’s that suppose to mean?”
“Always going on and on about him and brushing me off like I’m some psycho boyfriend when I’m sick of hearing about him”
“Mark……” my dad groans as a warning
Everything seemed to come crashing down and I couldn’t keep it all in anymore
“You’re the one that comes home late stinking of booze and cheap perfume thinking I don’t see the lipstick stains on your shirt collar, or when you make me feel like a piece of meat infront of all you friends I’m sick of it Mark” at my words he shot up in his chair clearly enraged as he towered over me
“Who the hell do you think you’re talking to” the chair behind me screeched back Negan now towering over me too with the angriest look I’ve never seen before
“Get the hell outta here before you regret it” mark was angry but he was also a hell of a coward, especially faced with a big strong man like Negan
He huffed as he stomped down the porch, hearing his truck start up and rush off down the dirt road, I slumped down in my chair completely embarrassed but also that relief that I’ll never have to deal with that ass again
“Please excuse me” I sigh as I get up from the table and head up to my room for a moment of peace, I sat down on my reading ledge by my window going through all the times he mistreated me and how much he ruined my first…..well my first everything
“Hey darlin mind if I sit with ya?” Negan asks from my doorway, I simply nodded hearing him cross my room and sit next to me, I look up at him and feel my lip tremble
“He ruined everything” I finally break down when he holds me close to his chest
“He took my first kiss, felt like nothing, took my virginity even though I didn’t feel anything like that for him, he took my happiness”
“Baby look at me” he says as he leans me back tilting my head up to wipe my tears away
“If I could I’d take all your pain away, replace all those firsts with happy memories but I know one thing……”
“What?”
“You’ll be happy again, even if I gotta kill him to see you smile again I’ll do it because it kills me to see you like this”
“It’s not like I’m sad he’s gone, I’m relieved really but he’s never what I wanted” I say placing my hand ontop of his that was still against my cheek
“And what is it you want darlin?”
“I’ve always wanted you, I know I shouldn’t you’re my dads best friend but all my secrets are coming out today” I pity laugh
“I want you too, when you started working on my farm, you working around the farm and treating my animals like your own, making me feel like I wasn’t some old man out there alone, I want you by my side more than you know”
My world in one day went from hell back to heaven all because of the man I craved the most in this world
What if there was an AU for [Name] being one of the top ranked mages in twisted wonderland?
╰Description: [Name] is one of the top mage in Twisted Wonderland, right after Malleus Draconia.
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 (You are here)
Tumblr media
—May 3, 2024—
Thought… This is a continuation on the What if there was an AU for [Name] being one of the top ranked mages in twisted wonderland?
So far—over a month—the students of NRC have become accustomed with [Name]...kind of.
What do I mean by kind of?
Let’s just say that those who have her are now dying to get out of the class. Too bad for them because their one-week deadline has passed, and now they can’t. At least they want to lose the credit and money.
Turns out, having a pretty girl as your professor doesn’t make up for the torture you’ll endure.
Now, everyone is afraid to even approach [Name]. She doesn’t mind this, in fact, she quite likes it. Peace and silence. The two things she adores the most.
So much as to get the students to participate more. Thank Crowly for this.
In the month [Name] had been teaching, all she’s done is give theory. Heavy for those that have advanced places, and slightly less for those who have normal classes. Though you’ll be damned if you thought that she’ll have it easy on you if you have normal classes with her. Aduece Duo and Grim are probably off complaining to Yuu about how difficult the class is.
The members of the cast that follow rules and usually are studious find this class a bit…too much. But, not enough to make you want to jump off a bridge. The other students get by with deep dive studying. As for those that are lazy–AGHEM–Leona–COUGH–[Name] won’t let them go that easily.
Why don’t we take a look at how well her students did in the first test, shall we?
Because of the way [Name] likes to do this, all results are given a week after the test during a time when there are no classes. Which means all of her classes are gathered here in one spot. It’s easier for her to do it this way. If there are any questions, she can just answer them and not have to repeat it to her other classes.
The first test on theory had concluded a week ago, and the students are now in [Name]’s class to get their results. They talk amongst their peers about how they think they did on the test. Some say they did poorly, others think they at least got a passing grease, no one will know for certain until they get those papers back.
The class starts to quiet down as professor [Name] walks in. She walks until she is standing on the podium looking out towards the students with a blank expression—nothing new for the students, as she is like that everyday.
“I have graded all the tests. I will pass them out. But before that, I would like to say that the results of this test met my expectations.” [Name] said nonchalantly.
At this the students became happy and full of hope. Maybe the majority of them pass. Some even began to cheer.
[Name] took the stack of tests and began to make her way down the list of students in alphabetical order, as she had instructed them prior to entering, with the few exceptions of Malleus, Silver, Yuu, and Grim (Silver, Yuu, and Grim being the obvious ones).
The first three rows had gotten their tests back, much to their excitement. But from the noises of disappointment and failure reaching their classmates further up, they began to question if they had passed the test.
“Aww man…and I studied really hard for this!” Kalim sulked in his seat.
“If by studying, you mean cramming last minute, then yes, you studied really hard.” Jamil frowned at his Housewarden, shaking his head in a disapproving manner. “Next time, come to the library to study. I’ll teach you what you don’t know.”
“Really!” Kalim’s round eyes sparkled to the point it made the people around him cover their eyes. “You really are the best Jamil!”
“...Ah…of course I am.” he said, having his eyes closed.
Going further up, [Name] began to speak after hearing more dissatisfied students.
“It seems like my expectations were met. Only 10 percent of you passed this exam.” She said matter-of-factly, still passing out tests.
“What?!”
“But I studied for days for this!”
“She’s lying…right?”
“I want to get out of this class…”
“How is that even possible...?!”
“No way…”
“Can’t believe it…even if I studied for a whole month, I wouldn't have passed this.”
“She has to be joking.”
“Kehehe.” A grimling laugh was heard throughout the chatter of students. It came from a young boy with black and pink strokes. He had pointed ears, a staple for the Valley of thorns citizens.
“Finding this amusing, are you, Lilia?” A considerably tall young man with pale skin and the same pointed ears asked.
“Oh, please, Malleus. You can’t deny the fact that you find this entertaining too.” Lilia retorted with a smile.
“Hehe, I suppose it is. What’s more intriguing is the fact that she was expecting those results.” He turned to Lilia, “don't you have to be up there to get your test back?”
The young lad’s eyes widened, “ah! You’re right!” He said before disappearing into thin air.
There were only two rows left to hand out the test. Going up, [Name] came face to face with Leona.
“Kingsholar.”
“Professor.”
There was a moment of silence as the two stared down at each other (although one was staring down, and the other up). Without more time [Name] gave him his test back and moved in shortly after.
She was already three students down when Leona slammed the desk in front of him. This grabbed everyone's attention: all eyes were on him now.
[Name] turned around, not amused by Leona’s behavior. She predicted he was going to act this way when he got his test back.
“Is there something wrong for you to act in a way, Kingsholar?”
“...you”
“I’m sorry, I am unable to hear you. You’ll have to speak louder.” [Name] was preparing herself for the yelling of the century.
“HOW COULD YOU GIVE ME AN A IF I GOT EVERYTHING WRONG?!” The students around him jumped, getting scared. No one had seen him that mad. Apart from the students that saved him from the blot, this was a new level of anger.
“*sigh* isn’t it obvious why I would bypass the grading system and give you an A?” she asked, looking at Leona with a are-you-stupid face.
“...”
“No? I guess I must spell it out for you then.” [Name] got closer to him. Taking his test into her hands, she looked it over before averting her gaze at him. “Out of all the questions you got everything wrong.”
“Exactly. So, how the hell did I get an A?” He demanded to know he passed the test, if he had no correct answers. It was preposterous in his opinion. Having every question wrong would mean an F, so having it be an A this time…felt wrong.
“Do you not see what is wrong with this?” She asked.
“No?” Leona was getting irritated. Can’t she just say what she needs to say?
[Name] hummed. “Can someone tell me what is wrong with that? Anyone?” She turned to the rest of the class.
A student in the front row had put his hand up to answer the question.
“Āshengrotto. Can you tell me what is wrong with this statement?”
“Yes, professor.” Azul put his hand down and fixed his glasses. “If this test was a written exam the chances of getting a zero are likely. But, because this test is a multiple-choice question, it would be impossible to get zero percent, as you have more chances of guessing the correct answer.”
She smiled at the answer. “That was beautiful. Thank you, Mr. Āshengurotto. Point for Octavinelle.” Some Octavinelle students cheered for their Housewarden, the loudest being Floyd.
“As you hear Āshengurotto say, it would be near impossible to get a zero percent on a multiple-choice test.” she said, turning to face Leona again. His face spelled mad.
“Yeah, so? I could have gotten lucky.” Leona said sarcastically. He wanted to get this over with.
“Mmmm…maybe. Or you simply wanted to fail.” [Name] said accusing him.
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me.”
“I would have agreed with you that you could have gotten lucky enough to get a zero…if not for the fact that you are good with theory. In fact, you are one of the best students in this class with this subject.”
“The only option left…is that you wanted to fail.” [name] finished the final blow as she handed the test back to him, before continuing to disperse the papers.
“Oh and, Kingsholar?” She turned to see him standing there, looking down at the paper that had a good score in. “You violated Rule number four. I expect to see a written paper on it in my desk in the following days.”
Leaving the conversation at that, she finished giving out the test and went back to the podium.
“If there are no further questions, you are dismissed.”
Here’s for context/power thingy
May I please request headcannons for Jing Yuan, Yanqing, and Welt with an S/o who has an instant death ability like Takatou? They never direct it at their allies (the boys listed), but I can imagine no one wanting to fight someone who can insta kill anything.
I've actually never seen this anime before, so it was definitely an interesting and funny watch, lol. I also really love the ability the character has, so thank you for sharing, Anon, and I hope you'll like this!!<33
Content: Reader essentially insta kills a bunch of people with their mind, kinda unserious, established relationships, sfw
Reader has no set pronouns!!
((Not proofread))
Tumblr media
》WELT YANG
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Welt often claimed that he had seen most of what life had to offer, mainly due to all he had been through. And for a while, he completely believed that... until he met you, that is. You weren't shy about showcasing your rather invincible ability, mainly as a safety precaution for him.
He felt concerned at first yet, but over time, he saw himself growing appreciative of it, despite how grimm it was. You got him and the rest of the crew out of many difficult situations with ease, even if it meant many casualties that he supposed he could turn a blind eye on for your sake.
He finds it understandable that you have barely enemies to speak of, too, to say the least. Whether the fools or the Stellaron hunters alike, no one bothered crossing you, and for that, he was grateful because it just meant less of a headache for him to deal with.
Tumblr media
》YANQING
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yanqing finds your ability cool. Maybe a bit too cool for his own good. So much so that even the general eventually began to wonder if he understood the seriousness of your ability at all. Not that the boy seemed to care. Especially when he begs you to showcase it in battle. (You have to explain why it is not a good idea to use it in training, though, since he won't get it-)
With that said, he practically boasts about having you as an s/o to anyone who has ears. He finds you amazing, so much so that he'll get distracted during fights just to watch you casually blink and kill a bunch of enemies without even moving a muscle! If you weren't his lover, he'd perhaps nearly be jealous...
He also finds it a little funny that you have virtually no enemies or at least none that would attempt to fight you head on. It's not surprising, ofcourse, but that just makes his pride over you grow even more... maybe Jing Yuan was right in being slightly concerned.
Tumblr media
》JING YUAN
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He is amused by your ability, yet doesn't think much of it. It's not that he doesn't care, he just finds it rather adorable if anything, considering how powerful he himself is. And perhaps he didn't take it as seriously as he should have at first... until he actually first saw it in action, which made him also respect it more.
Jing Yuan enjoys fighting at your side, or rather let you "fight" for him, when he has too much on his plate already. He is thankful for your ability in situations like those, as it means he doesn't have to worry about grand threats sticking around for longer than they should.
The biggest thing he is grateful for regarding your ability ultimately would be that he didn't have to worry about your well-being all too much. Being the s/o of the general would usually get the normal person in extreme trouble... yet since no one is crazy enough to really cross you after your reputation spreads far and wide, that fear has been calmed, whilst the man can rest knowing you'll be fine even without him around.
Tumblr media
I'm sorry if these were a little short!! I did my best with what I saw regarding the ability in the video. Also, I'm sorry for the long wait. Life sucks as usual, lol. Either way, thank you again for the request, and I hope you liked this!!<33
Double Dog Dare
“Are you warm enough?” I asked Paint as we walked. My fingers were chilly against the box I carried, but it was small enough that I could reach to rub them together.
“Yes,” Paint said firmly. She pulled her heat shawl close, nuzzling her scaly orange face into its yellow warmth. “This is fully charged, and much better than my old one.”
“Well, no falling in the water for you today.”
“No falling in the water for me ever!” she said. “Unless the water is warm. Then it would be nice.”
I looked around at the industrial ruins that we walked through, all damp concrete and convoluted passageways. Even the sunlight on this planet felt thin. “I don’t think anything around here is warm.”
“Not yet,” Paint said with a lift of her snout. “I’m sure they’ll get things back in working order soon. That box probably holds a key heating circuit or something, and the area will become more hospitable in no time.”
I smiled at her priorities. As a coldblooded Heatseeker, she could hardly be blamed for expecting warmth to be high on the to-do list. I would have focused more on landing pad repair personally, so visiting couriers didn’t have to walk through this maze of alien architecture to reach the inhabited area, but that’s just me.
At any rate, our delivery timeline was short but so was the best route, at least according to the map on my phone. If we kept up a brisk pace, we’d get there well before the client started to grumble. And in this chill there was no reason to dawdle.
Sudden voices echoed off the walls: laughter from a few people at once. Distinctly human laughter. The locals were Frillians, so who were these?
Paint craned her neck to pinpoint the source of the voices, looking just as curious as I was. Then we walked around a corner and met a cluster of humans in blue jackets with a logo that I recognized immediately.
“Hey, it’s the crew of the good ship Hold My Beer!” I said in greeting. “How’s the droid jousting business?”
“Hello again!” said Captain Parker, flashing that bright smile set off by his dark skin. “We’re here for an outdoor tournament. Just on the way to check in now. You guys making another delivery?” The handful of other humans nodded at us.
Paint said, “Yes! It’s probably important! But we don’t know for sure. They wanted it in a hurry.”
Captain Parker pulled out a holo map of his own, and pointed down a concrete corridor. “This is definitely the fastest route that we can see. Pretty bonkers city design.” He started walking with a glance at the gray sky.
I hitched the box up and fell in step with the group. “I don’t think it was a city originally. No idea what, but these don’t look like stores or houses.”
Paint took short-legged strides beside me, offering suggestions for what these reclaimed ruins could have been, and the walk passed quickly. We’d moved on to discuss the jousting crew’s latest wins and new uniforms — those Stabby the Roomba emblems were very stylish — when we passed through an open doorway and discovered a problem.
The passage ahead of us was a deep chasm between concrete walls, open to the sky and devoid of branching passages, with a doorway at the bottom of several concrete steps. The door was closed. And the steps were filled with water.
I stopped. “Hm.”
“Aw man,” Captain Parker exclaimed, getting out his map again.
“What do we do?” asked Paint, clicking her scaly knuckles together. “This was the fast route! Our client is on a timeline!”
I thumped my chin against the box. “I knew we should have used the hoverbike.”
“You would have crashed into a wall! These walkways are far too narrow.”
“No I wouldn’t.”
A sturdy woman from the jousting crew shone a pocket flashlight into the murky water. It was all in shadow, thanks to an awning up top that seemed ironically meant to protect from the rain. Like everything else around here, it was janky and broken, but made of metal that hadn’t rusted through yet. Canvas would have been long gone.
I eyed the many cracks in the walls, with pipes and alien rebar sticking out. “I don’t suppose anyone feels like climbing over?”
“The box doesn’t have a carry strap,” Paint pointed out. “And I am not one of you climbing experts.”
A heavyset man with gray hair chuckled at that. “You’re not the only one.”
This turned into a side conversation about how Paint was under the impression that all humans were talented climbers by her standards, until Captain Parker interrupted.
“While this would be the most direct route, I see three other possibilities that shouldn’t take us in too many circles. It really is a shame, though. This one’s a nice straight shot if we could get the door open. Can you see the catch, Ruby?”
“Barely,” the woman reported. “This light is garbage. But it looks just like those other doors. Too bad we don’t have a long pole or something to work the catch with.”
I looked up. “That awning looks like it has a couple poles! I wonder if they come off.”
Paint yelped, “The water is rising!” She pointed, clutching her shawl. “It was below that step before!”
“Dang, you’re right.” Ruby stepped back. The other crewmates gestured to cracks that reached above water, which could easily be causing leaks below.
“We should go,” decided Captain Parker. “Get a head start on one of the long routes.”
“But our client!” Paint exclaimed. “They need the package in a hurry, and will tell everyone we’re unreliable!”
While everyone voiced an opinion, ranging from “Route B” to “Route C” to “rock-paper-scissors for who gets dunked in the hypothermia water,” I shoved the box at Paint. “Hold this,” I said. Then I got a running start and leapt up for a good grip on a crack in the wall.
There were plenty of footholds. Some of the metal bits sticking out were loose, but not enough to fall out. I focused on making sure each step was secure as quickly as possible, and reached the top in no time.
Thankfully it was wide enough to balance on without too much worry. That water wasn’t deep enough to land in safely, never mind the temperature.
Speaking of water, I thought with dawning horror, This is about to be bad.
Several rows away in this maze was a broken pipe the size of my torso, spewing water into a reservoir that was near to overflowing. Some of the water was leaking out through cracks in the sides already, leading to a puddle that was dripping through to make the one on our side.
The route back is in the danger zone too! Maybe if we’re fast enough, we can get to that open area over there. Or get everybody else up here. But I don’t trust this wall to stay intact if that dam fails all at once.
My phone buzzed, making me jump. It was Paint. I realized she’d probably been yelling for my attention, and I didn’t hear. There were sounds of pouring water up here, not to mention the blood rushing in my ears. I answered the phone.
“What are you staring at?” she demanded. “Get the pole!”
“Right,” I said, hurrying along the wall. “We may not have enough time, even if I can get it free. There’s more water that could flood the area at any moment. I think somebody has to swim for the catch.”
“What! How much water?”
“Lots. Hang on.” I stuck the phone in my pocket to free both hands for the awning. Up close, it looked much rustier and ancient than below. The pole at the side was welded on. I braced my feet and gave it a good yank. That produced a metal screech and a rain of rust particles, but not much else. Pushing and pulling to work it loose let me fold the awning back so watery sunshine illuminated the door catch far below. The jousting crew shouted about it indistinctly.
I leaned against the awning, holding it back while I got my phone out. “It’s not coming loose,” I told Paint. “Tell him there’s a dam about to break, and one of his people needs to open the door.”
There was lots of indistinct shouting at that. I couldn’t make out all of the words, especially since the water sounds were increasing, thanks to a new crack the water levels had just reached. Captain Parker was shaking his head at Paint, who’d set down the box so she could hold the phone and gesture wildly. He waved at me to come down, and pointed back at the way we’d come. I shook my head and pointed at the reservoir, but he was already looking away.
“Paint!” I called into the phone. “Tell him he’s got to!”
“He wants to turn back!” Paint cried.
“Wait!” This was a dumb idea, but I’d had worse. “Paint, tell him you double dog dare him to do it.”
“What?”
“Human thing. If he doesn’t, he’s a coward. Use those exact words: you double dog dare him.”
Paint didn’t answer me, lowering the phone and jabbing a finger at Captain Parker. I could just make out her words over the water.
“I double dog dare you to do it! If you don’t, you’re a coward!”
He gaped at her for a moment while his crew burst into laughter. Ruby clapped him on the shoulder. A smaller man waggled his fingers like he was offering to hold the captain’s jacket. Captain Parker looked up at me, arms spread in a clear WTF.
I held the awning back and pointed emphatically downward.
Water rushed faster out of that new crack. People were laughing below. Paint repeated the phrase like an incantation.
And Captain Parker took off his jacket, handing it to the other man.
“Yes!” I breathed in relief, leaning harder against the metal. It really wanted to fold back down. But the captain would need light to see.
In moments he’d left his jacket, shoes, and pocket valuables with the crew, and was striding forward, shaking his head. Ruby aimed her flashlight at the door, though it was pretty visible now. I pocketed my phone and crossed my fingers. With a worried glance, I sent strengthening thoughts toward the dam.
Captain Parker stuck a foot in, swore loudly, then cannonballed directly into the deep end to the approving whoops of his crew. He surfaced, gasping at the cold, then took a few good breaths and submerged, going straight for the door.
The catch didn’t turn easily. Of course it didn’t. Why would any of this be easy? I watched him struggle with it, flicking my eyes back toward the straining reservoir. Water was starting to spill over the side. The big crack was spreading.
Then something clunked below me, and the door grated aside, gushing water and a very cold human into the corridor beyond.
I yelled my own wahoo along with the crew, and left the awning to jolt back into place with another rain of rust while I hurried back down. One of the pipes almost jerked out of the wall while I was holding it. I jumped the rest of the way.
“Take the box!” Paint told me. Humans were rushing down the wet stairs. I took it just as a thunderous crack filled the air, and the ground shuddered.
“Run!” I said. We dashed down the stairs to the sound of rushing water. The wall I’d just been standing on sprouted dozens of leaks, creaking ominously.
There was still a bit of a puddle at the bottom, but Paint bravely dashed through it with her heat shawl held tight. I was right behind her with the box. The other humans were already climbing dry stairs on the other side.
We made it through the door just as the wall collapsed, sending water and debris slamming into the place we’d been standing moments before.
I don’t think I’ve ever climbed stairs faster. Two of the nearest humans hoisted Paint up, her small legs kicking in the air. Water splashed behind us, wetting one of my pant legs in a terrifying moment that made me think we’d all be washed away after all, but then we were out of range and still standing.
Everybody stood in an open courtyard, breathing hard and staring. The water rushed in every direction below us, filling more passageways than I’d thought it could. We’d reached an area of high ground with the reconstruction offices in view, all freshly painted and gold in the sunlight.
But only just.
“We’ll need another way back to the ship,” said Ruby.
“Good thing we left all our stuff behind.”
“Hey Captain, you can use my shirt to dry off with.”
“Mine too.”
Captain Parker looked a little paler than his skin tone was really meant for as he rubbed his hands together for warmth. “Thanks,” he managed, sounding like he was keeping his teeth from chattering by force of will.
Paint approached him and made an elaborate bow, which I’m pretty sure she got from some media about old Earth customs since that’s not the kind of thing her people do. “Well done, Captain Parker,” she declared. “Your honor is unquestionable; you are not a dog this day.”
He smiled while the crew laughed again. “Thank you. Your challenge was well-timed.” He stripped off his wet shirt and toweled dry with someone else’s, then rolled up his pant legs instead of taking them off.
“Do you need to borrow my heat shawl?” Paint asked tentatively.
Captain Parker frowned, shivering violently. “You’re coldblooded. Don’t you need it?”
“I’ll be okay,” Paint assured him. “You need it more right now. The air isn’t as bad as that water.”
“You’re not wrong.” He accepted it when she handed it to him, settling it over his shoulders with a deep sigh of relief.
When Paint met my eyes, I gave her a smile of approval, and she beamed. Crew members were busy making calls: to their ship, to their local contact, and who knew where else. It occurred to me that we should do the same.
Paint told me, “Everyone’s going to want to hear about this. And you’ll have to explain the details of the double dog thing; I’d never heard of that before.”
I shrugged one shoulder, still holding the box. “It’s not a big deal. More of a kid thing, honestly. I’m sure there are lots of cultures with similar stuff.”
“Not mine,” she said thoughtfully. “Blip and Blop would probably appreciate it. And Trrili would probably appreciate it too much.”
“Oh man, Trrili would be an unholy menace.” I thought of our most frightening crewmate’s love of scaring people. “Let’s not tell her about double dares.”
When the captain had his shoes back on and his jacket thrown over the heat shawl, we all moved on toward the reconstruction office, leaving a trail of water droplets and honor in our wake.
~~~
Captain Parker and co made their other appearance in this story.
These are the ongoing backstory adventures of the main character from this book.
They're shared early on Patreon! There’s even a free tier to get them on the same day as the rest of the world.
The sequel novel is in progress (and will include some characters from these stories. I hadn’t thought all of them up when I wrote the first book, but they’re too much fun to leave out of the second).

I have a drabble request if I May, how would steve reaction if maybe a bussiness partner of the reader start to flirt with her?
Sending love 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Ohhh thank you! I’m glad you like the dynamics! Tbh I love them myself and have fun with these series/ideas etc:3
To your request…a jealous Stevie? 👀 here you go;
Series Masterlist
Tumblr media
Warnings: jealousy, Steve being mean, bad expression of feelings, argument, (reader slaps Steve), alcohol consumption
Pairing: sugar baby Steve x sugar mommy reader
A/N: I’m slowly starting to write again wuhu
Tumblr media
Steve started hating all those events were anyone wanted to talk to you. Businesspeople, random guests or anyone else, really. Too many people wanted your attention.
Your attention should be on Steve. Was he possessive? Of course not. (He definitely was.)
“When can we go home? We’ve been here for over three hours…that’s enough”, Steve whined next to you, gently wrapping his fingers around your wrist. You chuckled quietly at Steve’s whining, kissing his cheek gently. “Stevie, just a bit longer-maybe you could get us something to drink? I’d like to have a mojito”, you asked, kissing his cheek once again.
He blushed lightly, but nodded. “Fine, one drink and then home?”, since you could tell Steve really wasn’t in the mood to stay any longer, you nodded. It was late anyway. Going home and cuddling on the couch, maybe watching a movie, sounded nice, too.
When Steve disappeared, someone else walked up to you, a man your age that you had met a few times during those dinner parties and events.
You were pretty sure he was also a CEO, though from a completely different company involving a clothing brand-not that you cared much about his company not his Welth.
“What a beautiful dress for a beautiful lady”, his first words were, making you smile a bit, it was a lame but friendly compliment. “Thank you, my boyfriend chose it-oh there he is”, you said when you’ve noticed Steve walked with two glasses.
“This guy? He looks like-“ “I’d be careful with what you choose to say next.” “No, no, I’m not gonna say anything…offensive. It’s just, he looks very young, I’m sure you could have a much better life with someone your age, someone like-“ your loud laugh interrupted his sentence, while you shook your head slowly.
“Thank you for your concern, but I couldn’t imagine a better life than the one I have now”, you said, smiling in Steve's direction. You could tell he wasn’t in the mood to stay here for much longer.
From the bar Steve could see you laughing with some stranger (he had to admit the man looked like a very wealthy and handsome stranger…). Scoffing he took the two drinks and walked quickly up to you, immediately placing a lingering kiss, looking at the stranger when he parted from your soft lips.
“Steve”, he introduced himself to the man. At least he was taller than this stupid guy. But he could tell Carlos-, from what he had introduced himself-had a lot of money, the Rolex showed it all, and he really didn’t want to know how expensive his suit was.
That’s when it hit him.
What if you’d get bored taking care of Steve’s finances all the time? What if you’d rather have someone taken care of your needs?
“Stevie, are you alright?”, you asked, seeing how lost he was in thoughts. “Yeah, yeah, I’ll just go to the bathroom real quick, can you hold it for me?” Steve placed his glass in your hand, before disappearing.
“Someone’s in a bad mood, huh, it’s probably past his bedtime”, joked Carlos, making you furrow your eyebrows at him. If he was trying to achieve anything good, he was miserably failing. Especially when he was trying to insult Steve.
So you just kept quiet. “So, how long are you two a thing?”, he asked while leaning against the counter next to you, his shoulder touching yours. “We’ve been together for a while now. And we’re very happy together”, you said while sipping at your mojito.
“And is it serious or just for now? I’d love to try to change your mind about maybe seeing someone your age, you know, you’re a beautiful woman and a date wouldn’t hurt-“ “stop right there. I don’t want to go out with you, I’m in a relationship and I’m very happy, please stop pressuring me or this conversation will have to end right now”, you hissed, but kept a smile on your lips, since you didn’t want anyone to notice the unpleasant encounter.
When Steve joined you again, you immediately wrapped your hand around his bicep after he took his mojito from you. “I don’t feel like finishing the drink, I’m a bit tired”, you said to Steve but loud enough for Carlos to hear. “What a shame, it was such a pleasure to meet such a wonderful woman”, Carlos interrupted whatever Steve wanted to say and took the mojito from your hand, placing it on the counter before taking your hand and pulling it up to his lips, leaving a kiss on your black lace glove.
Steve immediately grabbed your wrists, pulling it away from him before walking with you to the door, not minding anyone, even the people that tried to wish you a nice evening. Not even your friends that he liked.
You knew he wanted to go home but you hadn’t expected him to be this eager to get home as quick as possible.
Thank god you had already texted Clint you’d only finish one drink and go home, so he drove up just in the right moment.
While driving home you tried to cuddle a bit up to Steve but he didn’t react much, only holding your hand lightly. “Is everything alright?” “Sure.”
So something was definitely wrong, but maybe he didn’t want to talk about it in front of Clint, who had become a close friend to Steve.
After entering your shared home Steve took of his jacket and shoes and walked straight to his old room, where he had stayed at the beginning of your relationship. “Steve, what-why are you here?”, you asked in confusion after following him into the room.
“I assumed you don’t want me to sleep with you in one bed tonight”
What?
“What?”, you said your thoughts out loud. “Carlos. You seemed to having found a replacement for me”, his words only made you laugh-and your laugh made him frown. “I’m sorry sweetheart, I didn’t mean to laugh but it’s just ridiculous-nobody could replace you”, you walked up to him, wrapping your hands around his neck.
“I saw the way you laughed with him-and how he kissed your hand-“ “no, Steve, I laughed at him, not with him. He was saying some bullshit and the kiss…it happened so quickly I didn’t even notice when he pulled my hand-“
“Don’t bullshit me, I know he can treat you better. He could give a better life, a better future-“ “Steve, stop! I don’t need a rich guy-“ “I didn’t say anything about his money, this was your first thought-“ you scoffed at his words.
“Don’t try to make it look like it’s me who noticed his wealth-I saw how you looked at his watch-how you immediately got lost in thought. I knew what you were thinking about. I’m not stupid. But it’s still not what I’m interested in. I want you” “sure, you want a broke college student-or do you prefer the stripper? The broke stripper, that was in depth and needed money-“
You felt your eyes burn at Steve’s words. Did he really think so little of himself? A broke student or just a stripper? “Sweetheart, please let’s sit down and talk about it-“ “I don’t think there’s anything to talk about. I’m not in depth anymore, I have a job, I don’t need all the money anymore, I don’t need your help anymore. I can get by on my own. You can now do with the contract whatever you want-rip it, burn it-I don’t care! Go and get yourself someone who’s your league”, all the accusations made your tears fall even though you tried to hold it back.
For a second you felt like Steve had really only used you for the money-which in the beginning was true, but he lived with you for a year now. And you had confessed your feelings months ago-you two loved each other. You knew. You could feel it.
“Steve I know you don’t mean it like that-“ “what if I do? Maybe it was all a lie? What if I just needed the money? Have you never thought about it? I’m just a poor kid that found a naive woman to get him on his fe-“ before he could finish his sentence you couldn’t stop yourself and slapped him across the face, even surprising yourself with it.
You knew you shouldn’t be overreacting, especially considering he had been drinking all evening, but his words hurt.
“You can either go to sleep or pack your things, it’s your decision”, you hissed, slamming the door behind you.
After taking a shower you walked to your bed, trying to ignore the need to check if steve left his things or had packed-but in the end you opened his night stand. Everything was where it was supposed to be.
You breathed out quietly before laying down and tried to fall asleep, which took you a very long time.
Your dreams were haunted by arguments, fights and tears, all resulting in Steve’s leaving. Would he really want to leave you? Or did he only use you for money? Was the love fake? Maybe he was actually-
“Good morning, Y/N, I made you breakfast”, Steve’s soft voice woke you up, the bed dipping where he sat down at the edge. His hand caressed your cheek, “I wanted to apologize for yesterday-“ while you tiredly opened your eyes, Steve immediately pulled you into a sitting position and his arms.
“I'm so incredibly sorry for all the things I’ve said-I…I don’t know what came over me or why I did it. I don’t think you’re naive or that you only wanted to have some fun with me-sure, maybe this was our deal at the beginning, but it’s not like this anymore. I love you. I love you so much and I hate myself for hurting you like this yesterday”, mumbled Steve, kissing your forehead.
“What happened Steve? Why were you so angry and upset?”, you asked while gently pushing him away by his shoulders, looking him up and down in concern.
He sighed, deeply.
“I’m…I think it’s because I’m scared. And jealous. Sometimes I just feel like it’s all not real. Like you might actually want to be with someone else, someone older, more experienced…more…wealthy..”, he whispered, lowering his head shamefully.
“If I could, I’d want you all to myself and seeing this douche kiss your hand…god, it killed me”, he shook his head, brushing his hand over his face.
You immediately grabbed his hand, pulling it to your lips and leaving a kiss behind. “Oh sweetheart…”
Slowly you sat onto his lap, wrapping your arms around his neck, kissing the top of his head. „Please, never doubt our love because of some douche…I love you with my whole being, I could never imagine being with someone else…“
You whispered, feeling him hiccup against your neck. “I love you to…mommy”, he whispered in return, making you smile against his hair. “I made you apology breakfast…-“ “I think I want to skip to the dessert”, you teased him, kissing his earlobe gently, before pulling up his shirt over his head.
You felt like you needed to take care of your babyboy today. “First…I think I have to remind you how much I love you baby…”, you whispered, brushing your finger down his stomach.
The way he looked up at you was reason enough why you could never imagine someone else in your life.

Requested by: misticbullet Please do more fanfics with bad girl vibe with suo and the rest, or preppy girl from all girls school in sailor uniforme like one from akebi's sailor uniforme, i'm a total sucker for good girl bad boy situation relesh
Not sure if I got the preppy girl vibes correctly.
Also, I'd surely add some other stories with this dynamics and the bad girl/boy reader, because it's really fun and on point with the series.
Choji Tomiyama x fem! Preppy Girl! reader
He's such a deadly cinnamon bun
TW: blood
Tumblr media
Even with his funny shirts and a big smile, Choji inspired fear in your friends but not in you. You got along really well since the day he complimented your keychains attached to your bag. Seemingly the only "strange" thing about your elegant and stylish appearance. At the same time, his T-shirt brought a smile to your face, leaving both of you grinning and richer by a new friend.
You got more attached to each other, the more time you met. He brought you so much joy so easily and, you could say, stupidly. You really did appreciate the different and more relaxed way he was compared to your classmates.
All the rumours your friends told you about him being the leader of Shishitoren, the fights he got in, and the race for the strength he constantly found himself in, didn't have that much effect on you. Of course, the first time you saw his bloody fists and dark eyes was very shocking, you even took a step back trying to calm yourself before you could run away from him. And so after talking and him sharing in excitement that his fists were finally heavier and more powerful you only grinned at him and congratulated him. He reminded you of a cute puppy, a cute but feral puppy.
As mentioned it wasn't strange for you to see him covered in blood but to see him at your school gate with blood over his T-shirt was new. He just got too excited to share something with you and had to do so right after the fight.
You came out of school with your friends and immediately you heard all sorts of mutters from around you. "Why is he here?" Someone behind you whispered. "Oh my God!" "Is that blood?" A couple of voices echoed. Then your eyes meet the figure that caused all this disturbance. His eyes searched the crowd constantly moving from one leg to another and swinging side to side. When he finally found you he smiled brightly and waved in your direction. "Oh, (Y/n)! I was waiting for you." Choji said and eagerly bounced toward you.
Seeing that your friends hid behind you grabbing at your arms and using you as their shield. You knowing such a delinquent made them question if you had some trouble or got into some unwanted company. "Hi Choji, what happened to you?" You asked when he stopped before you. Your friends and people around gasped at the friendly attitude you shared with some thug, covered in blood and with bruises lining his body. "Oh, that? Just some weak guys that went out of line. Had to set them straight." He replied cheerfully and you could see the people around shivering in fear at the temporary change in his voice. "I see, then good job keeping them in their place." Your monotone voice made him very happy. "Thanks."
When you felt your friends' grips tightening around your arms and shoulders once again you sighed and shook them off. You reached into your fancy bag and took out a pack of wet tissues. Taking one you stepped closer to him and your hand reached toward his face. "Here, let me help you with the blood." You proposed and your friends gasped dramatically making you roll your eyes. "(Y/n), don't come so close to him." One of them said trying to come to you and bring you away from the boy but you just raised your brows at them. "Oh, come on, it's not like he'll bite you." You said sarcastically, but you knew that he could if he was provoked, you wouldn't put it behind him. "Eeek." At yet another sound from your classmates, you had enough.
You grabbed Choji's hand leading him out of the school grounds and on the way to some quiet place. "I'll see you guys later." You told your friends not even sparing them a look. "Are you sure?" "Will you be alright?" They asked worried about you. "Yes, don't worry." You turned briefly toward them and sent them a small reassuring smile before continuing with Choji by your side. He was unusually docile, but you blamed it on his after-fight excitement and need to share the whole story with you.
When you were far enough, you sat on the benches near some playground. You gave him the tissue and he finished cleaning his face up as best as he could without seeing where the dry blood was. Then he searched his jacket's pockets before grabbing something and showing it to you. From his finger dangled a cute little charm and you tilted your head. "What's that?" He grinned at your question. "Ah, yes! Here you can have it. I got it from the kid I helped." He said before shoving it in your lap. He then started telling the story in much more detail, talking about how heavy his fists were when he saw the kid in trouble, and when he beat up the guys. And you, you listened to him going on and on while playing with the fuzzy charm.

Hey darling! Can I request the Damon Salvatore x Fem!Reader? So maybe where the reader is the reincarnation or rebirth of Damon's old love, and Damon meets the reader's reincarnation like Elena in season 3, episode 22?
I love this idea so much!!
I spent hours writing this last night only for it not to save, so here is another attempt.
Plot: Damon thought his first love was dead and buried, so imagine his surprise when someone turns up in Beacon Hills wearing her exact face
Tumblr media
1864
Katherine Peirce loved her boys - more importantly she loved how she had them wrapped around her little finger. Which meant of course, she could get whatever she wanted.
The three of them were sat outside in the gardens, enjoying the sunshine in the summer weather. Kathrine, Damon and Stefan all laughing amongst themselves like old friends.
"Your friend is coming today is she not?" Stefan asked.
Kathrine nodded, looking towards the road as if expecting a carriage to pull up at any minute.
"We're grateful you could offer us both shelter," she replied simply.
"Well if she's anything like you, how could we refuse?" Damon asked, a grin forming on his face.
Kathrine smiled up at him "She's exactly like me,"
This was a lie. Although Kathrine would never admit it, she often mimicked her friend's personality to get people to like her. Y/N was softer than Kathrine was, her heart not frozen from the years of pain they had both endured.
"What did you say her name was again?" Stefan asked.
"Y/N," Kathrine responded, "And it looks like she's here,"
A black carriage was pulling up, and a footman appeared to open the door. Kathrine was quick to race towards her friend, whilst the brothers hung back to watch the scene play out.
They watched as Y/N stepped out of the carriage, adorned in a soft green dress. She embraced her friend, a wide smile on her face as she chatted excitedly. Katherine drew her to where the Salvatore brothers stood, and Y/N shrunk slightly, stepping behind Katherine ever so slightly.
"Salvatore's, this is Y/N L/N, you'll forgive her if she's a little shy," Katherine smiled down at her friend.
Damon was the first to respond, taking her hand and pulling it up to his lips. "Damon Salvatore," he said, pressing a quick kiss to her hand.
Y/N curtseyed in response "A pleasure to meet you Mr Salvatore,"
Stefan was next, offering her a small bow "Stefan Salvatore, we hope you enjoy your stay here,"
Y/N smiled, looking between the two bothers "Thank you for having me, Kathrine tells me you have been most generous hosts,"
Kathrine clicked her tongue "Forgive me Salvatore's, but I believe I will be showing her around her new home,"
The brothers gave a small wave towards the girl in green, who gave a shy smile in response.
"What do you think?" Stefan asked his brother. Damon eyed the retreating figures of the two girls with curiosity.
"Well Kathrine says she's like her, but I don't think I've ever met someone so different,"
Neither Stefan nor Damon saw much of Y/N from that moment on, she would never be teasing them the way Katherine did, nor would she seek them out. They'd catch glimpses of her reading, or writing beneath one of the trees in the garden occasionally, but neither of them even thought of saying something.
They were too captivated by Katherine.
But then came the day of the Founder's ball. Damon was in a foul mood, since Katherine had decided to attend the ball with Stefan, and found himself wandering he halls of his own home, unable to escape the nagging feeling in his chest.
So he went to where he always went too when his thoughts became too much; the library.
It was a large place, with books lining the walls like leaves on the trees. But it was cosy also, with three large chairs huddled round the grand fireplace.
To his surprise however, there was already somebody there.
"Miss Y/N," he remarked, a surprised frown on his face "I thought you'd be at the party,"
It was true, as she was adorned in a beautiful purple dress, that looked to be one of Katherine's. Her hair was done in an elegant updo, but still she sat on the chair, a heavy book in her lap.
She blinked up at him, her fingers fiddling with the pages.
"I've never been one for crowds, that was always more of Katherine's thing," she said softly.
Katherine. The name felt bitter on Damon's tongue. He wondered though, if Y/N was like Katherine in other ways, in ways that had to be kept a secret from the rest of the family.
"Mind if I join you?" Damon asked, and Y/N shook her head.
"Not at all,"
There was a brief silence between them as Damon stared at the girl. She paid him little attention, her eyes darting across the pages of the book as if feasting off the words it gave her.
"You like to read," he observed, and Y/N jumped, forgetting he was there.
"I like to write," she corrected "But reading is the next best thing if I have nothing to write in,"
There was another silence, and Damon debated saying something else, but she didn't seem like the type to want to talk much, and he felt he should be careful where he tread. But to his surprise it was her who started the next conversation.
"What brings you out of the party?" Y/N asked, closing her book and setting it to the side.
Damon sighed, he couldn't tell her the real reason, for Katherine was her friend and he was not. But similarly he couldn't think of a lie, something about her made him feel guilty for even thinking about lying to her.
Y/N grimaced slightly, taking pity on the fallen expression of the man. "I see she chose your heart to break," she said softly.
"What?" Damon asked, taken by surprise.
Y/N sighed "You think you're the first two men that Katherine has set against each other? I love her dearly, but she does like her games,"
Damon shrugged "The price I pay for falling for the act in the first place,"
"If I may," Y/N said cautiously "If you want to win her affection's you needn't show it to her so much. Katherine likes to chase,"
Damon's eyes flickered slightly 2What are you suggesting?" he asked.
"Take someone else to the next founders ball," Y/N suggested, picking up another book from the table. "You're a handsome man Mr Salvatore I'm sure you'll have little trouble finding somebody who takes an interest,"
Damon sat back a little, before glancing at the time. The founders ball still had a couple of hours before it was over.
"Why wait?" he asked, a mischievous smile on his face. "I could get a date right now,"
"That's the spirit," Y/N said, not looking up from her book.
"So Y/N, would you do me the honour of attending the founders ball with me?"
Y/N's mouth dropped open as she looked up at Damon, who was now standing with his arm outstretched towards ger.
"I - I can't!" she said with wide eyes "I'm terrible with crowds, and I don't know anybody, and god forbid they try and talk with me-"
Damon cocked his head slightly as she spoke, sensing the panic in her voice.
"I'll stay with you, and if anyone speaks to us, I will be the one to answer, if that is what you wish. So what do you say - one dance?"
Y/N hesitated, before slowing accepting his hand and letting him pull her up. "Don't make me regret this Mr Salvatore," she warned.
He laughed, guiding her hand to he crook of his arm. "Please call me Damon,"
Y/N sighed, trying desperately to swallow the nerves about walking into a room full of people she didn't know.
In the hall, Katherine and Stefan were dancing gracefully, successfully ignoring the stares of the room.
"I do hope your brother isn't too offended by my choice of Salvatore," Katherine mused, earning a chuckle from Stefan.
"I do believe he'll get over it - or he already has,"
"What?" asked Katherine, but Stefan just nodded towards the other side of the room, where Damon had just entered, Y/N on his arm.
Katherine's eyes narrowed as Damon shot a smirk her way, before leaning down to whisper in Y/N's ear.
"Just follow my lead, you'll be fine,"
Y/N tried not to shiver as his breath hit her ear, and allowed herself to be led across the dancefloor.
"I never thought you'd be the dancing type," she admitted, looking up into his blue eyes.
"And why is that?" Damon asked a slight smirk playing on his face.
"I don't know," Y/N bit her lip slightly to stop herself from smiling "You seemed much too arrogant to bore yourself with something as frivolous as a party,"
Damon's eyebrows raised as he realised her teasing tone "I never thought you'd be so cheeky, I thought that was something that belonged to Katherine,"
Y/N shook her head slightly, a laugh falling from her lips "Katherine was always so serious, even when we were children. I suppose you Salvatore's have shown her a thing or two,"
Children, they knew each other when they were children, so Y/N must at least know what Katherine was, if she wasn't one herself.
"She's staring at us," Damon commented, realising that Katherine had stopped dancing with his brother, and was shooting curious looks to the other pair.
"Told you," Y/N shrugged, her voice lowering to a whisper "Nobody Knows Katherine like I do - perhaps now would be a good time to talk to her?"
Damon hesitated, he knew that part of him wanted to but the other part -
"We're having far too much fun dancing, don't you think?"
And it was true, Damon did enjoy Y/N's company. With her shyness beginning to ease, he enjoyed the small jests she'd make at him, and thoughts of Katherine began fading away.
The pair danced, and chatted until the early hours of the morning when the founders ball finally came to an end, and the last of the guests were leaving.
Y/N let out a yawn, and Damon caught her as she stumbled slightly.
"I think it's time I retire," she said sleepily "It's been a pleasure dancing with you Mr Salv - Damon,"
Damon brought her hand up to his lips, pressing a firm kiss on the back of it. "The pleasure was all mine, goodnight Y/N,"
He watched as she left, a slight smile playing on his lips.
"Careful, she'll fall in love with you," came a sly voice to the right of him. He didn't need to look to know it was Katherine. "her heart is far too soft to survive a Salvatore brother,"
"You were wrong before, she is nothing like you," Damon commented "Enjoy my brother,"
And with that he walked off, feeling triumphant that he had been able resist the urge to fall right back into Katherine's arms, but he couldn't shake the Y/N from his mind either.
The next morning, Damon found himself outside the door of Y/N's bedroom, his hand ready to knock when she opened to door herself.
She jumped slightly "Oh - Damon?" she asked her eyes wide.
His lips parted in shock slightly, the encounter catching him off guard and all the rehearsed words in his head disappearing.
"Are you alright, you look like you've seen a ghost?" she asked, frowning slightly.
Damon cleared his throat, presenting a small brown parcel with his other hand.
"A thankyou gift, for coming with me to the dance last night," he said.
Y/N blinked slightly, gingerly taking the package from his hands, and carefully untying the string.
"You didn't have to -" she began, before trailing off as she revealed the leather bound notebook he had bought for her.
"You mentioned you loved writing, I figured this would help you out a bit," he said slightly nervously "Do you like it?"
Y/N looked up at him, her eyes wide and shining with unshed tears. "Thankyou so much Damon, this - it means the world," she said sincerely, clutching the book to her chest as if it may run away.
Damon's worried expression broke into a grin. Another difference between Y/N and Katherine, Y/N was sincere, was genuine.
He didn't even see Katherine glaring at the two from behind the pillar.
Katherine watched with resentment over the next couple of weeks, watching as Damon started pining after Y/N instead of her. Of course, anyone else she would have gotten rid of immediately, but Y/N was her friend, and she didn't have many of those.
Even Stefan noticed her change in behaviour towards the other girl, but decided it was not in his best interest to question it.
But Damon was oblivious, too wrapped up in wanting the attention of the shy girl he had met, yet seemingly unable to show his affections towards her.
Y/N carried on with her life, desperately trying to ignore the flutters in her stomach whenever the older brother entered the room, concealing her blushing cheeks with her hair whenever he spoke. Nobody noticed, besides Katherine, as the girl often hid herself behind her hair when people spoke to her, but not quite in the same way.
"I see you fell in love with him too," Katherine commented, walking in unannounced to her friends bedroom.
Y/N sighed nervously, she knew that Katherine got whatever she wanted, and mostly she allowed it which is why the pair were such good friends.
Katherine stepped closer. "What do you think he'll think of you when you tell him what you are?" she asked, eyebrows raised.
Y/N shook her head "I don't need to tell him," she said hoarsely, "I'm not like you Katherine,"
Katherine chuckled "You may not be a vampire, but you can't go around pretending to be human,"
Y/N glared at her friend through the reflection of the mirror, but didn't say anything to protest and Katherine smiled.
"I'm just saving you the pain of losing him," she said, before turning on her heal and waltzing out the door, no doubt to find the Salvatore brother herself.
Y/N sighed, her had laying on the book that Damon had gotten her, piled on top of all the other books she had written in over the years. Even if she didn't like it, Katherine was correct. Though her curse wasn't quite as visible as the older girl's, it was a curse nevertheless, and all curses had consequences.
"What did she mean?"
Y/N froze, the sound of the man's voice like ice in her heart. She spun round and came face to face with Damon, who was standing in front of the door he had just closed.
He took a step closer, his eyes searching her stricken and panicked face. Another way she was different to Katherine, she wore her heard and emotions on her sleeve, there was no having to interpret or guess with her, she was an open book whether she liked it or not.
"You don't have to be scared, I didn't tell Katherine's secret and I won't tell yours," he reassured her, stepping closer to take her hand.
"I'm not a vampire," Y/N said defiantly.
Damon shook his head "You don't have to lie to me," he promised, his blue eyes searching her nervous ones.
"I'm not!" she stressed, before breaking away from Damon's grasp and sitting on the bed "It's more complicated than that,"
Damon sank to his knees before her, looking up at her with wide and trusting eyes "Then let me help you,"
"I'm cursed," Y/N said quietly after a beat. "They call it the Phoenix curse. Every time I die, I get reborn from my ashes as my old body burns, forgetting everything from my previous life."
Damon frowned "But if you forget everything, how do you know you've died before?"
Y/N smiled slightly, raising her hand to brush the hair from his eyes. "I didn't at first. But I am always reborn at the age of sixteen, and people tend to notice when you're almost an adult and have no memories to show it. Katherine found me, and she had this made for me,"
Y/N drew out a necklace that was tucked away in her bodice. It was golden, and dainty, with a red gemstone in the middle of it.
"It allows me to keep the memories even after I have been reborn,"
Damon let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding.
"Well that's certainly a raw deal on your behalf, at least Vampires get the added speed and strength,"
Y/N laughed, shaking her head slightly as she stood up.
"The books in your father's library say that I have wings, and that I can fly, but that remains a mystery to me, and I am immune to compulsion" she said with a smile.
Damon hesitated, a question on the tip of his tongue but unsure whether or not to ask it.
"Well it seems to me, that as long as I don't let anyone kill you, there doesn't seem to be much of a curse," he commented with a quick smile.
Y/N raised her eyebrows "Surely it is Katherine you would want to be around, speaking of which, how are you and her?" she asked
Damon shrugged "I found someone else that seemed far more appealing,"
Y/N turned to face him, her breath catching in her throat slightly as she realised just how close they actually were.
"Who?" she asked, unable to hide her blushing cheeks with her hair this time.
"You,"
Y/N's eyes widened, her brows drawing up slightly as she looked at him. Her lips parted as if wanting to say something, but no words came out, her heart pounding against her chest, the tightness of her corset making it difficult to breathe.
"Damon - Katherine," was all she could let out, but he shook his head.
"I don't want her, not since I met you. I no longer want to be chasing after a game, but I would chase after you for the rest of my life if that is what it took. I would tell a hundred jokes just to hear you laugh, and run a thousand miles to catch up to you,"
Y/N let him grab her hands in his own, but tugged away slightly "Damon you don't understand, Katherine wants you. And Katherine always gets what she wants,"
But Damon didn't relent "But I don't want Katherine, I want you," he said, the desperation leaking into his voice "But if you truly do not want me, then that is fine, but I need to hear you say it. I need to hear your say you do not want me if I am to go,"
Y/N shook her head, her gaze downwards "I can not lie to you Damon," she said quietly "I can not say I do not want you, when you are all I want,"
Damon breathed a sigh of relief, a slight laugh falling from his lips as he embraced her in a tight hug, pulling away only to cup her face in his hands, his blue eyes memorising every detail of it as if would disappear if he looked away.
"Meet me outside, near the village. You go out of the left gate at the gardens then follow the road until you meet the village square, I'll meet you there - I've got a surprise for you," he said, the smile never leaving his face.
"I will try, but I'm terrible with directions," Y/N teased "You may have to find me if I get lost."
Damon kissed her cheek, tucking her stray hair behind her ear "I will always find you," he promised.
Behind the door, Katherine watched the two lovers, a dark expression on her face. As much as she adored her, Y/N would have to go.
So as Damon waited at the village square, and the minutes ticked by, it occurred to him only too late that something terrible had happened to his new love.
That Y/N had disappeared without a trace.
2009
Y/N sighed with a heavy heart, as she lugged her suitcase behind her. She was grateful to have a suitcase, many of the children she was with in the foster home before had their stuff in plastic bin bags as they moved from house to house.
But Y/N had been adopted.
She found it odd that somebody wanted to adopt her, especially since she was three weeks away from turning eighteen, but it meant she no longer had to fend for herself once she aged out of the system, so she had to be grateful.
Rudy Hopkins
Y/N hadn't even met him, yet here he was willing to adopt the strange girl without a second thought.
That's if Y/N could find the damn house.
Mystic falls was a mystery to her, especially since she had never been there before - or so she thought.
"Y/N?" came a voice.
She spun round, and came face to face with a man she could only describe as beautiful. His eyes were wide, and blue, looking at her with a mixture of shock and disbelief.
"Er, I'm sorry do I know you?" she asked with a frown, stepping backwards nervously as the man stepped closer to her.
He froze, his eyes glinting downwards to her neck, where not one bit of jewellery rested.
"Sorry, I thought you were someone I knew - Damon Salvatore," he introduced himself, but his blue eyes were still piercing her own, scanning her as if she were an odd puzzle piece he couldn't quite place.
"Y/N L/N," she responded, a slight frown evident on her face "Are you alright, you look like you've seen a ghost,"
Damon hesitated, her words echoing in his head, the same words she had spoken to him all those years before, yet she truly had no recollection of him.
He nodded "Sorry for bothering you," he said quickly, turning to walk away.
"Wait!" she called out, grabbing her suitcase "You don't know where Rudy Hopkins lives do you? He's my adoptive parent, but he didn't show up to the meeting point, he just text that I'll meet him at home,"
Damon's eyes widened, Rudy Hopkins was the father of Bonnie Bennet, there was no way this was a coincidence.
"Follow the road back down until you - " he paused, looking at her confused and slightly panicked expression, and he felt his heart tug slightly as he remembered her all those years ago wearing exactly the same face as she was now.
"I'll take you," he reassured "Something tells me that you're not very good with directions,"
Y/N breathed a sigh of relief "You aren't going to turn out to be some serial killer are you?"
Damon snorted "Bit late to ask that isn't it? But no, I can promise I am not a serial killer,"
Y/N smiled up at him as he walked next to her, and he found himself having to concentrate on not looking at her. She was exactly the same as she was all those years before, but with no memory of him whatsoever.
He was almost sorry as he left her on her doorstep, wanting to spend every moment with her, to see if it really was her, or just some cruel trick the world was trying to play on him.
She turned to thank him, but he was was already gone.
Damon had darted back to the Salvatore household, his head and heart both reeling from the encounter.
He burst into the living room, where both Stefan and Elena was sat cozied up in-front of the fire,
"Stefan," he said urgently, causing the two others to look up sharply. Stefan frowned at his brothers expression, Damon had many emotions, anger, hatred you name them, but never vulnrable.
Not until now.
"Stefan she's here - Y/N's here,"

More of older Kate and younger Anthony. It's a tragedy we don't have more fics of that age gap. It's always older Anthony - which is great but I would like to see how it could work with older Kate. So many possibilities. I hope one day you wiil be brave enough to give that trope a try. Maybe you will inspire other writers to do so too.
Here's a little more!
--
“Hey, Kate.”
She really wished he wouldn’t use that fucking voice on her. The soft, rich one that made her knees go a little weak and blood rush to her face, as if he literally wasn’t just saying hello.
“Hi, Anthony,” she said evenly, taking a sip of her Moscato. “Good to see you.”
His warm eyes flicked over her body, subtly, but not fast enough for Kate not to notice. “You look beautiful tonight.”
Truthfully, she felt a bit awkward. She hadn’t worn this dress in at least eight years, on Tom’s arm at some work event. It was drapey silver fabric, with jeweled straps and a high slit in the back. Kate knew it still looked good, knew her figure hadn’t changed much in that time, but she felt a little like she had then. Like she was playacting to fit in among a bunch of people she had nothing in common with. “Thank you. You look nice as well.”
Nice was a hilarious understatement. He was wearing a white button-down, rolled up to his elbows, and navy trousers that made his arse look like a work of art.
Well. He’d obviously worked hard for that arse; he did deserve to show it off, she supposed.
He smiled crookedly, resting his elbow against the table, and Kate took a breath. The last thing she needed was for Anthony Bridgerton to pay any actual attention to her. His glances from across the room were enough to fuck with her head. If he was going to linger around her and tell her how beautiful she looked, things were going to fall apart quickly.
“You didn’t look like you were having a great time,” Anthony said, some of the artificial charm leaking from his voice, replaced with genuine curiosity. “I thought you might like some company.”
Kate met his eyes. He was watching her intently, as if he had honestly been concerned about her, and-
Fuck, he was good. It was no wonder that women were burning their knickers for him left and right. He had multiple tricks up his sleeve - if they didn’t fall for the swagger, he swung to personal interest.
“I’m having a great time,” she said with a shrug. “Thank you, though.”
“Bullshit. You’ve been standing in this corner half the night.”
Kate’s jaw tightened. No way he had been watching her that closely. It was true, though - Violet had pleaded with her to come, but she had hostess duties and could hardly cling to Kate’s side all evening. “I think there are other people here who are actually seeking your attention.”
He frowned. “Who, the people from my father’s company? It may not surprise you to learn that they’re all dicks.”
That did not surprise her, but Kate scoffed anyway. “I was thinking more like your girlfriend over there.”
Anthony’s eyes shot to where she had gestured - the pretty young brunette who was wearing a skintight black leather dress and flashing a truly impressive fuck me gaze.
“Siena’s not my girlfriend,” he said, seeming annoyed at the insinuation. “She’s a friend of the family-.”
“But you’ve slept with her, right?” Kate interrupted. He looked a little taken aback, and even she couldn’t account for why she said it with such disdain. “I’m friends with your mum. Don’t bother trying to bullshit me.”
Eyes growing heated, Anthony took a step toward her, until they were eye to eye and all she could smell was his citrusy cologne and the bite of whiskey on his breath. “Why do you hate me?”
“I don’t hate you. I don’t even know you.”
“You know what my mum has told you about me. You’ve met me a few times now. Don’t bother trying to bullshit me, Kate. You’ve seen enough to decide not to give me a chance.”
Heat pricked at the back of her neck, something dangerous brewing in the static air between them. “Give you a chance to do what?”
“To get to know you,” Anthony murmured, his eyes dropping briefly to her lips before returning to her eyes. “To spend time with you.”
Kate couldn’t help it. She didn’t know what else to do but laugh, at the ridiculousness of the situation, at the unbearable tension that strung them together. “You’re twenty-five.”
“Does that matter?”
“Do you even know how old I am?”
“You’re thirty-seven,” he said easily, not sounding fazed in the slightest. “And you’re smart, and funny, and fucking gorgeous, and I…god, Kate. If you had any idea, the dreams I’ve had of you.”
A shiver worked up her spine at the way he was looking at her. The face of a man dying to act out his filthiest fantasies. And something in her ached to let him.
Kate swallowed. This had already gone too far. She should have cut it off the second he approached her. “You need to stop.”
“Because you want me to? Or because you have some arbitrary reason why you think we shouldn’t?” he challenged. Reaching out, Anthony slid his large hand over her forearm, goosebumps erupting over her skin. “Tell me you don’t feel anything. Tell me you don’t want a single thing from me, and I’ll walk away and never bother you again.”
It was so easy. To just push the words past her lips, I don’t want you. You’re not worth what I could lose. Give up on this foolish notion of us, before it bites us both in the arse. He needed to hear it, and Kate would only be giving him the out that he would seek himself, sooner or later.
Instead, she brushed his hand off her arm, shaking her head minutely. “Good night, Anthony.”
And as she slipped around him, Kate forced herself not to look back.

Guys I’ve been so busy this weekend but it’s finally my turn to make a long sappy fable thank you post :D
I’m not always the best with words, and I said a lot of this in the fan appreciation video already, but I wanted to put it all here too.
I first started watching fable smp in (I think)November of 2021, cause I found Sherbert and Heyhay through DSMP tiktok compilations on youtube, and saw they both streamed. Fable is the first time I’ve actually been part of a fandom community, and it’s one of the best things that has ever happened to me. My whole experience with the community has been so incredible, everyone is so kind and creative and excited about the story being told. I met people through fable who are now some of my best friends on earth, and even got to meet up with one of them irl! I never imagined an online friend group was something I could have but those people, and the wider fable community, helped get me through some of the worst times mentally that I’ve had in my life.
Fable as a story is so incredible, I can’t even put into words all of the specific pieces that make it so amazing, but all of the characters, relationships, stories, side plots, and just silly hanging out in character streams are something I love so much. I’m having a hard time writing this rn cause I don’t want to leave out anything important but I don’t know how to say any of it.
One of the biggest things fable smp has done for me is giving me something to fuel my art. Before fable started, I was just starting to experiment with digital art, but had a ton of art block and no motivation to draw much anymore. Fable gave me a constant source of ideas for my art, and the responses I got when I posted my art(for the first time ever) helped so much in keeping that motivation. Having fans and cast members tell my how much they loved my art was incredible, and it eventually gave me the confidence to open up art commissions, which I had never thought was something I’d be able to do. My art was actually how I met my now friends, we started talking because we all loved eachother’s art, and it’s so wonderful to have a bunch of artist friends I can ask for advice, show wips, and just hang out on call while drawing with. Whenever I draw I almost always have a fable vod playing, there are so many comfort vods that no matter how long I draw for, I’ll never run out.
I know other people have said this, but I want to say it for me too, just because fable is over doesn’t mean I’m gonna shut up about it :D. I have so many art ideas I haven’t done yet, and so many thoughts and feelings about this story that aren’t going away anytime soon. I’m gonna keep brainrotting about these characters for as long as my brain allows me to, and even after that I’ll look back on this story and community so so fondly. This is a story and fandom that I think I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life, and I thank you all for that.
There is a lot of other things I could say right now, but words are hard and I’ve had a very, very long weekend, so I’m gonna stop it here. I love fable smp so much, and I can’t wait to see what stories you all tell next <3
