Cons of visiting Akaashi: the most obnoxious pining you have ever seen

I headcanon that Akaashi gets 2 dogs around the timsekip. He gets this one, creatively nicknamed dog 1, during the timeskip. I realise realistically Akaashi probably couldn't get a dog then as a student. Please ✨ allow it ✨ and assume that the accommodation worked out somehow.

The way Akaashi gets a dog is a bit long winded, but it starts with the headcanon that Daichi works in the part of the police force/ fire fighters that train the dogs. There were a couple dogs that were too friendly or otherwise not suitable. Daichi is mentioning this over drinks to Kuroo, who has a Plot to kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Kuroo is still in contact with everyone Bokuto and Akaashi. He knows about Akaashi's overworking problem, and how Akaashi is very good at managing others (Bokuto, then later Udai), but is willing to neglect himself. He weasels Akaashi into accepting the dog, under the guise of doing Daichi a favour (he does not mention the part that there was a back-up plan for the dogs).

Akaashi now has to look after it, so he ends up establishing routine for himself, including going outside and getting some exercise in for them both. He also now has a dog and the positive effect on his mood and health is incredible. Kuroo is very proud of himself for this.

That is, until he has to witness dog-related smitten nonsense. Bokuto is good with dogs, Kuroo will reluctantly admit, but he does not need to see Akaashi's lovestruck expression (they are not even together yet). Kenma is unimpressed. These are the consequences on his actions.

When does he get dog 2? I have no idea. What are they called? Again, no idea. I'd love to hear any suggestions!!

Malenoa is the strongest of the trio. Because she is a royalty, she is much more knowledgeable about magic— particularly if its related to dragons. Naturally, she became kind of like a magical tutor to both Levan and Lilia when they were children.

i really like the thought of eastern dragons in TWST🥰 its a nice foreshadow that Levan is a Long bcs thats Malleus' Halloween costume✨

(if its really like that,,,, im going to cry bcs that means Malleus dressed up like his papa who he never knew 💔😭)

(also I'm praying with all my heart he's not some plot twist jerk in game like King Stefan from Maleficent 1 😭)

I think dragons are rare on TWST not only because they're really particular on their mates but also because raising one is extremely high maintainance.

Its 1: life threatening to the caretaker, 2: needs constant attention and love, 3: once it grows up, you even need to withstand its tantrums and emotions (who are btw magically powered) 😭💥

That's why I think ??? there's limited knowledge about mediating their power (so they just get stuck in this cycle of being the strongest but that very strength can bring disaster bcs its uncontrollable)

Thus, I thought of Malenoa being Levan's friend who teaches him about controlling his draconic powers because Levan doesn't really want to accidentally harm others because of his uncontrollable strength--✨✨✨

I like to think its because of Levan's pacifist nature that Land of Briar chose to have war treatiest first instead of just crushing the Silver Owls through Malenoa's military strength. He's aware that killing off humans would just make them more hostile to faes in general, and I don't think both Malenoa and Levan wants Malleus to grow up in war once he hatches-

Levan's fire is purple because I remember getting surprised when Overblot Malleus used that on his attack despite Land of Briar/Malenoa (?) being "mainly green colored" all this time...

So, I think that's one magic he got from his father??? because most of his features already derives from Malenoa (horns, tail, magic (i think his green fire is from Malenoa), straight hair, etc)

The purple fire might've originate from Malleus' mastery of void magic (I hc their dorm spells' element are their forte magic and Dorm Malleus is double void card) but we've never seen void magic used like a fire... its usually like an energy beam right? I think it was so exciting when he attacked like that💜👆‼️✨ (I literally squealed lol its so pretty?? but I know I'll die from that lol)

I love the thought that Lilia is the "mom friend"/"sensible friend" of this trio... 😂 because he says hes the one constantly working for these couple... mostly to deal with their antics lol

plus Lilia is literally the sole person working for Levan and Malenoa to meet together right now---

ohmigosh i swear whenever you respond to my asks, my brain exploded with ideas its crazy and i love u sm for it <33 but anyways this kinda tied down to my recent brainrot b4 this, so since fragile!reader was in a coma for hundreds of years, the first time they probably tried getting out of bed and walking on their own two feet was probably an absolute failure 😭 fragile!raedrr probably looked like a baby deer learning how to walk for the first time. to say it was cute but also embarrassing is an understatement. also THATS SO TRUE! reader would literally beg Zandik and every single clone to go outside to see Snezhnaya, but since their health is so fragile it’s such a huge risk that they can’t take :(( so they’re usually just looking out the window to see if they can even catch a glimpse of Snezhnaya’s city. also adding onto Zandik being more mature and different from the Akademiya, reader probs has so so many questions on what happened while they slept, like what do you mean he has power that can match even the gods?! fragile!raeder would probably be so amazed but also scared that their own lover, THE Zandik, the outcast from Sumeru, turned to become the 2nd Harbinger, and have so much strength. ALSOOOO lifting up his mask and seeing the new scars littered on his face </3 reader would probably be so worried and ask “does it still hurt?” AHHHH it’s past 12 AM but this man has had such a grip on me the whole day. I just wanna say I have an old post of yours saved in my drafts, about being a beginner artist…. I look at it sometimes to give me perspective and reassurance. Thank you. it's both cool and sort of embarrassing that this blog is a record of my entire art journey. i didn't start learning how to draw until i got into ML and joined tumblr again about 3.5 years ago, so it has my very earliest art as well as my most recent. the other day my sister and i went through my art tag and i was literally crying with laughter at some of those pieces alskjdf (particularly this one). they're sooo bad but they were my best work at the time! as much as i cringe to look at them now, it's nice to remember how far I've come. There are still so many things I struggle with and things i disappoint myself about, but that's normal because I am still growing. no one stops growing. the artists you look up to the most, whose work seems absolutely flawless to you, are still growing.

and YOU are growing too! whether you feel like you are or not. sometimes it takes looking back to realize it. i'm really glad you can see your improvement! honestly, that's a skill too! having a healthy mindset about your own development can take a lot of internal work so I'm really proud of you for that.

and honestly sometimes the improvement isn't even about what the art looks like—it can just be about how you feel about making it. I think one of my biggest improvements in the last year was getting comfortable with drawing and sharing things that are Bad and Ugly! for example:

the first one i drew 3 years ago, just a few months into learning how to draw. the second one i drew about a month ago. they both have obvious flaws and you could even argue that the old one is better drawn than the newer one. so it's like omg did i not improve at all after over 3 years?? did i actually get worse? lol. no! because a lot of the improvement is internal.

you'll notice that the first one was done in pencil and the second one is pen. it took me years to feel confident enough to sketch in pen because you can't erase! you have to commit to the lines! you can actually see tons of erase marks in the first one, but i didnt even use my white-erase tape at all on the second one. also, the first one is a screen redraw. i was just looking at the image and trying to replicate what i saw the best i can. the second one is new scenes/poses that came from my brain—not that they are very complicated/impressive lol, but there's a difference there. and what you can't see at all is just my attitude about drawing them! i can't particularly remember doing the first one but i guarantee i spent forever on it and was nervous about posting it. second one probably took me 7 mins and i knew it was ugly but i was zero percent embarrassed about that lol. that's progress baby!! cant even tell you how much of a difference it has made to me to let myself draw ugly things. i draw ugly things all the time. some of them get posted online. some of them get shared with one or two friends. some of them get shared with no one. and i've finally learned how to either embrace them as what they are or just shrug it off and go, "you know, this is not it! moving on." blank pages are so intimidating because you have a million opportunities to mess things up, but you also have a million opportunities to explore and learn and experiment and have fun and also to surprise yourself with what you're capable of.

i started out with nothing but a pencil and some powerful blorbo brainrot, and that was enough! that has been enough to power me through years of all the struggles and triumphs that artists go through. it was enough to help me push through every art block and keep drawing to the point that my instincts have improved and things that used to be almost impossible for me are just regular hard lol. i've actually illustrated for a print magazine a few times now, and a few weeks ago i finished my first animatic—which i always wanted to do but didn't have the skill or confidence for.

sorry this is so long, i'm just very passionate about this subject lol!! i just want every growing artist to know that if you keep trying and having fun, improvement is not only possible but inevitable. like, you don't even have to do formal studies if you don't want to. keep looking at art that you like and figuring out what is appealing to you. keep drawing what you feel like drawing. if you're no longer inspired by a piece or it's a little too tough for you right now, it's ok to drop it. you can come back later or never. you have infinite opportunities to make new and better art. and don't forget to give yourself credit for the progress you've already made. it's so hard not to compare yourself to others, and literally everyone—even the best and brightest—feels bad about their work sometimes. but try to compare yourself to your past self and pat yourself on the back for your improvement! it's okay to grow slowly, or in a way that's not so visible on the outside. just remember that you are growing, and you will only get better and better.

also, side note about notes/likes: i know it sucks to feel like your work is not getting attention when you poured a lot into it :( this might sound rich coming from me because i feel that people have been incredibly generous toward my work from the very beginning. but just know that popularity is not really about who "deserves" what, and it's not an accurate reflection of skill either. so if you feel unseen, that doesn't mean your stuff sucks. and you never know what your work might have meant to the people who saw it, even if there aren't that many. art doesn't have to be popular to be meaningful, and it doesn't have to be perfect either.

the world is a little richer and more beautiful because of the ways you are growing and the things you are sharing. so thank you, and please don't stop.

I mean... This whole "issue" of people using names of cultures they dont belong to dose have some merit. Like i get that you dont want someone appropriating cultures or fetishizing others or using things they dont understand and i fully agree

It comes from 4 weird places. First off, you cant just assume someone isnt a part of the culture their using the name from. Like people can look nothing like some of their races and you habe no idea what culture someone could of been adopted into and raised in. You have no right to tell someone who isnt ethnically/racially chinese who was raised in chinese culture after being adopted by chinese parents that they cant connect with the culture they were raised in. 2nd off, dont just assume anyone who uses a name from a different culture is doing so unknowingly, fetishly, appropriatively or without full comprehension. Like idk man, some people are actually informed and know the origins of the name they want to go by. Some people can genuinely like a name and culture and it dosent make them a "fetishist" if they are respectful. Names are not an appropriative property. You cant pretend your something just by having a name outside of your culture/race. There are many bellas in the world and no one automatically assumes they're italian. There are many levis(oh look! The name most people know me as and is listed as my main name!) And no one assumes they're Hebrew/jewish. To automatically assume anyone who uses a name is an idiot and dosent know its origins or meaning is very pretentious. You dont know that person. You dont know their life or their amount of research, if done at all.

The idea that people can/should only use names from the cultures they originated from is based in ethnic cleansing and segregation.

It was made to make the "enemy"(see:poc) visable. To notice them on job applications or in doctors offices. The idea is if they feel they must name their child by their culture that they can be more easily spotted then oppressed. So many poc parents, especially those who are black or immegrants, admit to choosing to give their babies whiter names so they are less likely to be picked on and more easily blend into english and/or American society. By taking away the notion that "x culture sounding name means your automatically x", we take away the power of assocation that racists rely on. We remove the assumptions and force people to be more racially open and aware.

Im not saying names should be completely stripped of their culture significance,obvs but saying "black people can only have black names and white people can only have white names and asian people can only have asian names" sounds racist as fuck to me. Sounds segregative, isolating and like some half hearted attempt at "ethnic name-al purity" which is gross. Its like assigning genders to clothes or pronouns to objects, it makes no sense to force it to only be one thing when it is innate.

And and and hehe watching it again and having a particular focus on the scenes with chakotay and miss q,,,,,, i forgot she essentially loses her powers at some point during the episode so like,,,,, it’s cheeky to imagine that the Q’s change kathryn and chakotay prior to this, Kathryn turning human and chakotay “evolving” effectively swapping appearances,,,,,,,,,, and then chakotays obviously just stuck like that during the events of the episode. ANYWAY last night I was like BLEGGH UGHHGGHG humoring the idea that while miss Q is powerless and stuck aboard Voyager with chakotay, he’d likely have to have dealt with the babies at some point. :))) and and like,,,,, at the end of the episode you see q talking with miss q about the prospect of them having a child together,,,,,,,,,, and it got me thinking that maybe Q had initially broached Miss Q about this idea,,,, or maybe miss Q suspected it was something he wanted,,,,, and maybe she DIDNT want it,,,,,,,, at first at least hehe,,,,,,,,, and like,,,,,, her being stuck on Voyager and seeing chakotay with his babies she’d probably Bombard him with questions about child rearing and everything and start coming to terms with the idea of having a child with Q or whatever prior to him asking her hehehe,,,,,, CAUSE WHEN HE DOES AT THE END OF THE EP she’s like Ooh What A Lovely Idea essentially agdjfjfkfl BUT YEAH AHAGH thinking about that visual of Miss Q being around evolved Chakotay and the triplets and being like mmmm I hate babies but like SLOWLY coming around to it as chakotay introduces them to her maybe and everything and reminisces on his own struggles of parenting and everything. YUCK ITD BE CUTE TOO IF LIKEEEE he confided in her either that he loves Kathryn or like,,,,, admits that raising children with a partner and everything is favorable to the alternative IDK THATS A HALF BAKED IDEA HAHAHA. But going off of a previous idea too,,,, the babies wouldn’t recognize chakotay given his evolved appearance so they’d probably be a little notably fussy around this time. :3 it gives me ROT to think that he’d be able to chirp with them tho heeheeeeeee, he’d probably be thankful for the opportunity miss Q granted him, but in the end it’s Kathryn’s insistence that he doesn’t need to change for her to make her happy. uwu (I think it’s something she’s recently come to terms with in Futures End a few eps earlier!)

Because it is insane how easily these two shows can be combined. Like, literally enough for the doctor to show up in hawkins, 1980-whatever, maybe just wanted to checkout the vibes but suddenly hears of some kid disappearing??? Or strange deaths- so goes to investigate, meets this kids in the mall or just wherever and boom, adopted a whole crew of sidekicks for the adventure and ready to kick some alien (demogorgon) ass

I can imagine dustin trying to label them as something frim dnd but the doctor is just like, actually this is an ancient species predating [...] from planet [...] and everyone just staring blankly back.

Also, definitely using the psychic paper to get into the hawkins lab ... and would probably close a baby gates with a sonic screwdriver lol or at least try to analyse it

LMAO i love the idea of the doctor looking at the spore-destroyed plants and like sonic-ing them to try and figure out what's happened just for dustin to be like "oh thank GOD you're not normal" and to suddenly infodump everything about the upside down onto the doctor who's just like. what the fuck are any of these words

and even if the doctor were able to define the actual species of the demogorgon and the actual name of the upside down, the mind flayer, vecna etc, the party would still use dnd terms to the point where even the doctor just gives in and starts calling it all their terms for it

maybe since there'd be more extra-terrestrial stuff in this au, dr brenner would have been using alien tech of some kind, or would have been studying alien dna and trying to create a hybrid race, either way i think the doctor being able to tell el what she really is and how she came to be would give her a bit of an existential crisis, that'd be like the main arc of the doctor being there, is that even the doctor needs el's help but she's gotta come to terms with who she is, why she came to be and what the full extent of her powers could be

and even the older teens would be instrumental in helping the doctor figure stuff out, like jonathan would have taken just the right photo that looks inconsequential to the everyman but fills a v important hole in the doctor's logic. nobody could figure out what the flaying process is until nancy follows someone looking suspicious towards the steel mill. robin would sneak off to follow her own gut, almost get everyone killed in the process, but would find a way for them to gain access to even the most deadlocked parts of hawkins lab. and, of course, there would be the Classic Human Moment(tm) where steve would suggest something that everyone laughs at him for bc it sounds so ridiculous but the doctor. the doctor calls steve the most brilliant mind in the whole entire universe (dustin doesn't know whether to be more proud, horrified or offended) bc he's helped the doctor to crack the whole entire thing.

dream smp asagao au, aka the very specific high school au

also aka the post thats very self indulgent for me and maybe 3 other people.

in short: its a dsmp high school au based on the game asagao academy, where everyone is part of a gaming club and compete against one another in tournaments. more in depth info about the AU/Asagao itself, as well as more info about the plot and roles of the AU itself.

Asagao Academy Basics

So to start, let’s cover the basics: what is Asagao Academy. ….well, an old Youtuber dating sim game (which, despite unfortunately including some fairly questionable CCs, IS still really good and well written and I recommend it) But what is it for AU purposes?

Asagao Academy is a highly elite world-wide boarding school set in Japan for those who are either rich enough to afford it, or those skilled enough to get scholarships. Within the game, there are two main clubs: Normal Boots and Hidden Block. They’re both gaming clubs, and joining is seen as super exclusive since they’re ALSO the most popular people in the school.

The two clubs compete with each other in various tournament events with specific categories. For example: Satch (from NB) and Jimmy (from HB) both compete in the “Tech and Invention” category, where they have to create/invent something related to gaming and have it judged at the event like a science fair. Meanwhile, Jared (from NB) and Wallid (from HB) both compete in “Dance” aka DDR and the person with the highest score wins.

The other categories featured in game include: Puzzle games (like Bejeweled or Tetris), Video Game Trivia, Pinball, Retro Platformers, a three-person fighting game, and 100% completion speedruns. So tldr; the categories can be kind of fiddled with and be whatever you want them to be, because even the original ones are pretty wack.

Also, there’s no rules against competing in multiple categories— in fact, most of the HB members in game do! It’s more about balancing time and practicing for them alongside school and other activities.

The winner of the competition is the team/competitor(s) with the most total wins.

Another thing to note: despite competing as clubs, they’re all actually pretty good friends. It’s all lighthearted and fun in the end, hell the leader of the opposing club even helps the main character join the main club just because he wants a decent challenge.

Speaking of… the main character! Hana Mizuno! I don’t have any current plans to include her in this AU (a la new dating routes), but I wanted to mention her for a few reasons.

For the main reason: her hair. Even as soon as she shows up, Mai (her best friend and roommate, who can break the 4th wall) immediately calls her out for her hair for looking like a main character which as we learn… isn’t an exaggeration. She’s literally a born protagonist, thus being born with naturally pink hair and a tragic backstory. Not only that, but other people are also born protagonists with pink hair as well— she isn’t an exception.

About the AU -- Revolution Era

A few things to note: in this au, when I first drafted it I… wasn’t looking to include 20+ people. I cut a lot of characters, but instead working with the idea that they’re still THERE, they just… don’t compete? Either they aren’t in the club and are just friends with the members, or they’re members who just don’t compete professionally. It’s nothing personal against those CCs and tbh as times goes they may get added more, but for now they’re just in the BG vibin.

It covers a really basic retelling of s1 for most of the planned au. It starts with One Club: the Dream Team. Members include: Dream (sophomore), Sapnap (sophomore), George (junior), Wilbur (junior), Eret (junior), and Fundy (freshman).

For reasons, possibly just as a goof or spite towards their American counterparts, Wilbur declares independence from the Dream Team and makes his OWN gaming club: L’Manberg. He takes Eret (a close friend from his grade) and Fundy (the freshman he immediately adopted) with him, causing the two teams to be 3v3.

But Wilbur’s got a dastardly surprise up his sleeve: TOMMY, HIS YOUNGER BROTHER (bc I am nothing if not a dedicated crimebros stan), AND TUBBO. They’re both too young to actually attend Asagao yet, but theres no age rules in the actual competitions so its fair play. They’re Wilbur’s secret weapon. After all, a 5v3 where the team with the most wins wins the competition? That’s a massive advantage.

… we all know how this goes though don’t we. Wilbur’s day be so fine, then BOOM, Eret betrayal 😔

In this case Eret feels it’s a LITTLE unfair to blindside them like that, plus Dream promised to make him the Leader of the Dream Team and, yknow, that kind of stuff DOES look good on resumes, so…

TLDR; Eret rejoins the Dream Team crew, as well as informing them of Wilbur’s plan with including Tommy and Tubbo and becomes leader. They’re still letting Dream and Co. basically actually do the leading, they don’t care that much, the title is just nice. L’Manberg cusses her out and promises to hold a grudge, but it’s all in good fun. After all, they’re just teens goofing around and playing. The clubs are again 4v4.

Dream tells the L’Manberg club that they can separate, sure… under one condition. They have to win the competition. If they lose, they have to rejoin the Dream Team club.

L’Manberg accepts, but come competition day… they lose. Tommy outright challenges Dream post awards to a speedrun competition for L’Manberg instead. …which Dream professionally competes in, and Tommy DOESN’T.

He loses, but he puts up a good fight despite having little to no actual practice put in, so Dream “grants” L’Manberg their “Independence”. (In this au, instead of being like… weirdly obsessive over Tommy, it’s a lot more “he sees himself in Tommy and wants to support/mentor him” and a “friendly rivalry” kind of deal bc its a damn HIGH SCHOOL AU)

So L’Manberg can be it’s own club! …Next year, when Tommy and Tubbo actually attend, since Wilbur and Fundy aren’t allowed a two person club.

About the AU -- Election Era

SO time skip! Congrats, everything up to now has been BACKSTORY. It’s now the next school year, with two main clubs (I’ve tried to keep them fairly balanced, which is why not all CCs are featured, sorry!)

So, for whatever Reason (listen this was an au I made in like one night when plagued with brainrot, it’s not all figured out), L’Manberg holds an election. Maybe it’s related to Wilbur wanting L’Manberg to be meaningfully different from Dream Team, maybe it’s a joke, idk!

…. SOMEHOW, Schlatt wins. Which ticks off Wilbur a lot. It’s his damn club, and the whole point was to avoid Americans, tf?? The two start to feud a lot and it threatens to split the club entirely via ppl taking sides. Worse, it means people aren’t practicing for the competition.

All while this is happening, there’s a new intrigue building. Dream catches word of an infamous player in the area, someone known to win entire competitions against teams of people all by HIMSELF. A man with bright bubblegum pink hair called Technoblade. That’s right, literal universe-assigned protagonist Techno. If Dream could enlist him, there’s no doubt in hell they’d be able to beat L’Manberg.

L’Manberg hears of him too and works to try and enlist him as well, so he basically gets courted by both clubs trying to get him to play for them to mixed results. He’s pretty chill vibin by himself, so what’s in it for him? (….I don’t know, remember how this is a WIP au I worked on once?)

Eventually, a teacher named Phil (who’s been the honorary sponsor of the L’Manberg club) gets pissed at Schlatt and Wilbur’s fighting and bans both from competing (aka this AUs version of them dying). Which fucking SUCKS for L’Manberg. They’re now going 6v8 with a wildcard player who’s undeclared on which side he’ll join, if at all.

… honestly, that’s as far as I got. Theoretically, Techno joins L’Manberg to reflect Pogtopia and they win. I never had plans to go into s2 due to its darker theme, but there are definitely changes that could (and might?) be made for the s1 plot just so it flows better.

I already had to shift Wil and Schkatt’s “deaths” to fit, unless I were to have them LITERALLY make a new club. Maybe Schlatt uses his power as Club President to make them work with Dream Team (to the point it basically merges the clubs). Sure, they might be guaranteed to win now but it removes the competition and fun as well as the spirit of OG L’Manberg. So then Wilbur rebels and makes his own club AGAIN, calling it Pogtopia with the intent to get L’Manberg back. Then Techno, intrigued with this group of like 2-3 ppl going against a team of like 13ish people, decides to join them. Idk! Alternative possible plot based more closely on s1 I guess!
