Abother one of the headcanons about being mistaken for cosplayers, hehe. I think that with Mirabel, the embroidery is such a time consuming process that even more people would find it super impressive. The costumes you buy are screenprinted so hers would clearly be handmade. Imagone it not being a Halloween party and the family gets stopped before entering(besides antonio) because costumes aren't allowed and they have to explain that's how they are. It's not them cosplaying.

That's also a good point about the catalog of evil parents. If anything, the parents of Encanto all need to give themselves a pat on the back for not being evil
