Hiiii ! Back to request again !

Got inspired by San singing Rewrite The Stars in his Toktoq live and thought of this.

What about idol San and idol (fem or gn) reader being part of groups considered as rivals or rival agencies but San and reader are dating. No one knows about it until one day, they do a collab stage in which they perform Rewrite the stars together. And at the end of the song, in the heat of the moment, they kiss on stage, in front of everyone

The tension between JYP Entertainment and KQ Entertainment was always palpable, both companies boasting top-tier idols. However, hidden beneath the rivalry was a secret that no one knew—except for you and San. Despite being idols from rival companies, you and San had been secretly dating for over six months.Your groups had no dating bans, but you both decided to keep your love life private, away from the prying eyes of the media.

The opening notes of "Rewrite the Stars" filled the air, and you began to sing, your voice blending seamlessly with San's. Suddenly, the stage went dark, and bright lights shone on the two of you. For the first time ever, you shared the same stage. Your voices blended perfectly, your dancing synchronised, and the cheers of your combined fanbase echoed throughout the arena.

It was almost like everything you’d worked towards since becoming stars came full circle in that moment. This could have been your big break, but instead, it felt more like you were living a dream. TOP 30 BL'S OF 2023

It's that time again! The end of 2023 is here, and 2024 is upon us! Once again, we were blessed with some truly amazing BL series and I have tried my hardest to rank them all. I could only narrow it down to 30 this time cuz there were so many good ones. If a BL is not listed, it probably means I haven't watched it yet, but it is likely on a "for later" list.

GOD TIER 10/10

1. The Eighth Sense (KOREA) Absolutely ADORE this series, it was so well done. Beautiful filming and locations, each episode felt very different in terms of setting, the pacing was nice, and the chemistry was really good too between the main pairing. It was great to get some nice kissing moments as well. Def. one of the best KBL's I've seen ever and easily fits into my top 5 BL's of all time.

2. I Cannot Reach You (JAPAN) One of Japan's best series imo. Very cute storyline, I found both characters extremely likable and fun. I love their cute friendship and subtle build up. I really enjoyed watching this one.

3. My Personal Weatherman (JAPAN) Another great one from Japan, with lots of high heat scenes. Parts of the storyline were a little confusing to me at times but I think a change of scenery could have benefited the series, but regardless, I still really enjoyed it week to week.

4. Kiseki Dear to Me (TAIWAN) Probably my favorite Tawain BL ever after We Best Love. I mainly just loved the chemistry between the two couples, they were both really fun to watch and had wonderful chemistry as well as lovely kissing scenes. Def excited to rewatch this one in the future.

5. Our Dating Sim (KOREA) It's hard to believe this was from 2023, but I recently rewatched the whole thing and it held up! It was a very fun and cute series, and the build up with the main pairing was so well done. It really felt like the writers took their time with this series.

TOP TIER 9/10

6. Stay With Me (CHINA) Shocking to see a chinese series on this list, but this is one of my all time favorite BL series. Some people might argue that it isn't BL, but I highly disagree. We got a few "cheek" kisses and most romantic scenes were heavily implied but for me, it was still worth the watch. The ending was rough to say the least, and I really hope we get a season 2 to sort of rectify that, but regardless, I really loved it.

7. My School President (THAILAND) Another series that feels like it was SO long ago, but is def. at the top of my list for Thailand. Gemini/Forth's chemistry was on point and I loved the cute moments and subtle build up in this one.

8. A Shoulder to Cry On (KOREA) My only critique with this series is the lack of a kissing scene. I know for some people that isn't important, but to me it is and I was a bit frustrated to get nothing after such incredible build up, but regardless, the series was really nice and I loved the tension between the main two characters.

9. City Boy Log (KOREA) This one is still ongoing and not quite a BL series technically, but its scripted, and we get lots of BL moments, so I will count it in my list. I am loving the web style filming of this series and both couples a lot. I hope the main pairing gets the opportunity to be in an actual series together.

GREAT 8/10

10. Utsukushii Kare 2 (JAPAN) Sadly haven't been able to see the movie just yet, but the 2nd series was pretty well done. Not as enjoyable for me as season 1 but I still really enjoyed watching the main pairing navigate their relationship.

11. Never Let me Go (THAILAND) One of the better series from Thailand this year imo. I really liked the chemistry between pondphuwin and the episodes were packed with some pretty interesting storylines and build up, it was very fun to watch.

12. Ameiro Paradox (JAPAN) I've seen some people hate on this series, but personally I loved it. I found the chemistry between the leads to be super strong and I loved the build up to them recognizing their feelings. The kissing scenes were great as well. There were a few blah plots but overall I really enjoyed it.

13. Moonlight Chicken (THAILAND) Something about this series felt a bit more mature to me and it was a nice change from some of the cheesier bl's that try so hard to be funny? I really loved all the pairings in this series and the storyline was nice.

14. Tokyo in April (JAPAN) For me this one started out great but then kinda lost me near the end. I did love most of the storyline but other parts were super frustrating to watch. I enjoyed the manga a bit more I think? But still, it was nice.

15. Bed Friend (THAILAND) Loved this one on first watch but on rewatch it was just okay for me. I think some of the plots were just over-dramatic and too depressing. But the friends with benefits plot was well done and the chemistry between the main two was really strong. It was fun.

16. A Breeze of Love (KOREA) I might have enjoyed this one a bit more had I seen the eps slower. Because I binged it's hard to get a good grasp on it but I did really like it. I liked the chemistry between the main couple and there was a sweetness to it I enjoyed.

17. Love Class 2 (KOREA) I think I slightly preferred the overall storyline of season 1, but in this one I preferred all the couples. For me that was the biggest draw. It was a tad bit confusing at first, but then it started to come together near the middle. Not the absolute best from Korea but enjoyable.

Good 7/10

18. Bump up Business (KOREA) Great chemistry between the leads but unfortunately the plot fell a bit flat for me. I feel like they could have done so much more with it. The kiss was also extremely weak, but that was expected. It was a nice series to binge, but not one of my favs this year.

19. Destiny Seeker (THAILAND) Parts of this one were really odd and I think part of my issue was having wonky subs, but regardless, I really enjoyed the series and especially the chemistry between the main pairing. Loved watching their story build, their banter was so fun. I also liked the side pairing but wish they had a bit more focus.

20. Why R U Korea (KOREA) This one did not remind me of the OG at all, which is fine, but overall I found this series to be a tad slow. There were good and bad moments.

21. Love Mate (KOREA) Some of the KBL's this year get a bit confusing and I mix them all together... this is one that sort of got lost in the shuffle for me and I would need to rewatch to give a better opinion on it but I know I did enjoy it.

DECENT 6/10

22. HiStory 5 (TAIWAN) Sadly didn't enjoy this season of HiStory as much as past seasons but it was okay. I think it had some good moments but overall left me a bit underwhelmed.

23. The New Employee (KOREA) Didn't love this one as much as others have seemed to. I didn't find the chemistry to be that strong and I also am not fond of office romances, but it was okay.

24. Dangerous Romance (THAILAND) This one was forgettable but again, had some enjoyable moments. I think I liked it more in the beginning rather than the end.

25. If It's With You (JAPAN) Sweet series that simply just fell flat for me because it just felt too short so I couldn't really get invested in it. But it was cute.

26. My Story (FILO) This one was good, I liked both pairings a lot and there were some decent kissing scenes, but there were also a lot of cringey moments and moments I had to fastforward. For The Philippines I think it was one of the better series this year, but it's not at the top of my list.

27. Sing My Crush (KOREA) Another KBL that is so quick that you can binge in one night... this one didn't deliver for me as much as it did for others. The chemistry was good and it was sweet but I just found myself a bit bored of it. Still cute tho.

28. The Director Who Buys Me Dinner (KOREA) The plot is weird AF and I am not a big fan of like historical past lives romance type of plots but I did enjoy the chemistry between the main two. It might be a bit higher if the ending wasn't so weird...

29. Starstruck (KOREA) Another KBL that is a bit forgettable to me but from what I remember I enjoyed it.

30. Bon Appetit (KOREA) See above. lol.

Honorary mentions: These were good but not quite good enough for my list. I liked them but had small issues with them. Either cheesey or boring plots, or the chemistry was lacking for me. Also they are in no particular order:

1. His Man 2 (KOREA) - Not BL at all, but a reality series which was AMAZING. LOVE LOVE LOVED the ending pair... but couldn't put it on the main list because it's not scripted.

2. Minato’s Laundry 2 (JAPAN) -season 1 was amazing, this one didn't hold up. Hated how awkward they were as a couple and it just felt too unrealistic to me. Regardless, i still love the chemistry between the main two and liked seeing them again.

3. Hidden Agenda (THAILAND) - love joondunk and wish they would get a better storyline. This plot was all over the place but the chemistry was there. The kisses were top tier!

4. Only Friends (THAILAND)- i did love the messiness of this one and there were some fun pairings with hot scenes, but overall I felt the SL was a bit chaotic and some characters never really grew. I wish they had leaned into the sexy/messiness of it a tad bit more tbh.

5. Stay by My Side (Taiwain) - cute but a bit forgettable. I did enjoy the chemistry a lot in this one tho.

6. You Are Mine (Tawiain) - same as above, except the pairing wasn't as exciting for me.

7. Our Dining Table (JAPAN) - i know everyone loves this one and it was very cute and sweet, but a bit too slow for my taste.

8. End of the World With You (JAPAN) - some interesting plots and fun to watch, but overall a bit messy and problematic at times? lol.

9. Til the World Ends (THAILAND) - see above.

10. Jack O Frost (JAPAN)- decently cute series but the tone of it was a bit too depressing for me.

11. The Day I Loved You (FILO) -started great but was too emotional/sad for me after a few eps in.

12. Unintentional Love Story (KOREA) - seems a lot of people loved this one but it wasn't really my cup of tea. I found the plot very slow and the main couple was kinda bland imo. But I am willing to rewatch it and give it another chance soon.

13. Between Us (THAILAND) - technically this started in 2022 but it finished in 2023, so I'll include it. It was okay but not great. Much better series for bounprem but still found myself a bit bored.

Watched these ones in 2023 but they didn't make much of an impact in me. They had good and bad bits but to me, mostly bad. lol (No particular order)

My Top 10 BL's of 2022

I am Back with my BL drama top 10, I might’ve been quiet but I have been actively watching BL dramas. Remember this is my opinion and you might not agree with it but I made up my mind and these are my top-tier BL’s of 2022😎❤️‍🔥

10. Cherry Blossoms after winter 7,8/10

This heartwarming BL was something that I needed when I watched it. I wished it was again longer though because it just didn't feel finished yet and was sometimes a bit rushed. Like I would love to see more about them as high schoolers, especially with that bully storyline, and then the College part was also short or the acceptance of his mom, that could've gone better I feel. But other than that I loved the chemistry between our main leads. The tension was there every time, so that was a big plus, and just their whole relationship, it made me feel warm.

09. To My star 2 8/10

We all know what I am going to say...Again way too short, also I was super confused when I started watching. The sudden jump in time and then back. I was so confused and heartbroken as well. Thankfully everything got clear throughout the other episodes but yeah. This BL definitely did not disappoint as sequel and I can't thank them enough for making it because I feel like we finally got real closure and to see them, in the end, being happy together made me feel so warm and for a change, I didn't feel sad when it ended because they were happy and I felt that happiness. These two actors are definitely amazing together.

08. Cutie Pie 8,5/10

I wanted to watch this because of Zee and mainly for Zee but when the first episode aired I was hooked. I love Nunew and his chemistry with Zee but not only them, also the friends were amazing. I fell for Syn & Nuer even though I disliked Nuer at first because he was after Kuea but that changed when his attention went to Syn, and from that moment they had my heart. Of course, we can't forget about Nat and Max who are playing Yi and Khondiao because they were brilliant as well. Now I have to admit that I probably said every single episode that I was in love with Zee, which isn't a lie because this man can act, the way Lian looks at Kuea, I think I drowned every single time. The reason I give this an 8,5 is simply because of miscommunication, also the sudden change from hate to love was like huh? like why you tell him you don't love him but the next day you suddenly do. The purposely hurting your lover just because you want to see who he really is? yeah, it didn't sit well with me but that being said it's still a good BL for sure!!

07. Love Mechanics 8,9/10

The BL that I have been waiting for, for what is it 2 years!! Did I maybe overhype it in my head, yes I did. Now I have to say that I think what they did was brilliant because the NC scene in the first episode wasn't forced anymore, because both were under influence, still not completely okay but it's better than before.. I love Yinwar because their chemistry has always been on point but with this 2-year gap it's nice to see how much they grew and the acting was so much better. Now what I didn't like and this is kind of a pet peeve of mine with BL's is the lack of communication and with this BL that was definitely the case, no one wanted to listen to one and another, which left to heartache which wasn't necessary at all and also the Yeehwa involvement which often led to the misunderstandings, was annoying to me but other than that I loved Yinwar portraying Vee and Mark because together they were brilliant.

06. My Only 12% 9,1/10

When I started watching this, I knew I was set up to cry a lot and that was not a lie the first few episodes, I cried a lot. I really have to give it to Earth & Santa because I was completely invested in their relationship. Earth is really a brilliant actor and knows how to make you cry your eyes out! I think the sudden change in character was brilliantly done. the way the roles were reversed in which Cake was now the one that got treated how he treated Eiw first. I loved that a lot. I think Santa was brilliant in expressing the jealousy he felt as Cake for Eiw and I do think it's good that he actually spoke his mind, even though it hurt Eiw. I love how Cake is there for Eiw even in the most difficult part of life. I just loved it. I just really think this was a seriously good BL.

05. The Eclipse 9.3/10

The Eclipse, another GMMTV BL, which is brilliant. Now I only knew Khaotung as a light-hearted goofy character so I was pleasantly surprised to see him being this badass guy who isn't afraid to stand his ground and then he was paired up with First, who played the brainwashed perfect. This is amazing and I love how they change when they are together. Now I must admit that I am not crazy about their school being this crazy ass cult, I just hate Cults and everything surrounding it, it's creepy to me but other than that this is an amazing BL. I love seeing people fight for what they believe in and their rights, and I am totally on board with it. I also have to praise Neo for his character in this BL, I LOVE seeing him play a serious character, it just suits him so so much better and I love that he is paired up with Louis, they have such great chemistry! I do hope we get more projects with Khaotung and First because they are perfect together.

04. Not Me - 9,5/10

Not me was a surprise to me because I had kind of forgotten about it until I suddenly saw the trailer popping up again. I loved this cast and especially, Offgun & First, Fluke, they really were outstanding. The rest of the cast of course! I love how Off finally played a serious character instead of the goofy player kind of person because he can pull it off so well. I was very impressed with every episode. Gun also was outstanding as Black & White, I love it when he plays characters like this, it really suits him, and also he was playing a twin. Then we have the side couple Fluke and First, they were brilliant, I felt their emotions through every scene and when that scene with Yok in the hospital happened I was a sobbing mess. The reason I gave this a 9.5 is that I already knew who put Black in the hospital and also I felt somewhat disappointed with Grams character, I was so convinced that he was in love with Black but then he suddenly wasn't but other than that this was brilliant and refreshing!

03. Semantic Error 9.7/10

Semantic Error, what a fantastic Korean BL this was. I was hooked from the start and loved the dynamics between the two main leads Park Seoham(Jaeyoung) & Park Jaechan(Sangwoo). I cannot express my love for this drama enough. I was obsessed with it and it's now one of my comfort BL's. I love how Sangwoo's hate changed into Love. It was definitely a battle within himself and the way Jaeyoung stayed patient with him, was just amazing. The reason why it has a 9.5 rating is that for me it was too short but this is always the case with Korean BL's, I do have to admit that I was already happy that the episodes were a bit longer this time around but yeah other than that it was a perfect warm BL.

02. KinnPorsche La Forte - 9,9/10

This Bl was THE BL that I had been waiting for, for over a year if not more and it did NOT disappoint. It took me on a real rollercoaster of emotions. I went in for KinnPorsche and I enjoyed them a lot. I laughed a lot because they might have the worst bodyguards, but who cares. The chemistry between Apo and Mile was amazing and I couldn't help but feel flustered at times....like that scene in the bathroom..but yeah they were amazing. I also fell for KimChay. These two cuties, one that loves too much and one who didn't know how to accept that love, very Taylor swift if you ask me but I loved every second of it and I really hope they will give them their own side story! Now Tankhun..This man was brilliant, I never laughed this hard while watching a BL, I applaud Tong for his brilliant acting! Now the couple that took over this BL and that was VegasPete. The way I fell for them was no joke. I was obsessed and still am. The angst between them and the way they fell for each other and then that scene where Vegas got shot. Everything was perfect. Now you are wondering why 9.9. I think they started too late with VegasPete's story and I want more of KimChay!

01. Love In The Air - 10/10

Love in the Air was THE surprise of this year, at least for me. I didn't know much about this BL until I randomly came across it a few weeks before it would air BUT boy did it leave an impression. BossNoeul & FortPeak did terrific jobs, especially since they are new actors. I have never seen a BL Drama where there was so much love and communication. PayuRain didn't really have a plot but this was not something that I missed because I thought their love story was wholesome. everything was perfect. Their Chemistry was top notch and I just loved everything about them! FortPeak also was amazing. The way Peak portrayed Sky was brilliant; you could feel his pain and how Fort showed how Prapai changed for Sky was amazing. The pain Sky had been through and for Pai to be the one that opened his heart again and even saved him, I have been in awe and pain and in love the entire time while watching this BL, so I think it's fair enough that this BL is at the top of my list for 2022. In my eyes, this was the best one!

I’m gonna rank the couples in The Lunar Chronicles and explain why because I’m immensely bored I apologize in advance. And also just because it’s in a lower position doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing like there are only 4 spots-

Also SPOILERS FOR THE SERIES-

4th PLACE

WOLFLET- it’s the whole alpha thing that caused this I’m sorry like they need a lil more screen time and a lot less calling each other alpha. But I did really love them just not in the book Scarlet. I loved them in Cress and Winter when they were separated and it was just immense amounts of pining and I think they’re the most solid/loyal couple in the series like they’d do anything for each other and I love that. Honestly they’re a top tier couple and I wish we got more time with them like SOSN was peak because we got to see them being domestic and like adjusting I loved it. If they were put up against most other couples then they’d win I swear

3RD PLACE

CRESSWELL-these two were almost in 4th actually cuz they’re one of my least favourite tropes where it’s like “experienced suave guy who’s so hot and elite and older” and like “naive girl who’s never left her house and this is in fact the first human she’s spoken too” but somehow they made it enjoyable like I loved how she was like his sight in Cress and how well they work together. He also helps her come out of her shell and know her worth. I also love the fact that he’s a slut in recovery. They’re also the funniest couple and they also had the most slow burn which I enjoyed and I loved their ending. They’re very fun and again in any other circumstance in other list they’d be higher up (I also don’t like that Thorne’s 20+ and she’s 16 like it’s a lil weird-)

2ND PLACE

JACINTER-ok I’m kinda sad I put them in second and not first but yeah they’re my babies. They’re the best amalgamation of tropes I’ve ever seen like they’re childhood best friends to lovers, they’re forbidden love, they’re sun x moon (LISTEN HEAR ME OUT ON THIS), they’re grumpy x sunshine. I also love how much they genuinely adore each other and fight for each other to be safe as much as possible. They also have immense amounts of chemistry and tension in every scene they’re in. I also love that even though Winter is obviously the most vulnerable one in the relationship it doesn’t feel like he’s constantly doting on her like it feels equal like she doesn’t feel like a child being taken care of because of her mental health. I could talk about them hours like the pining the immense pining and the way they talk about and to each other it’s so beautiful like I miss them sm and they’re not popular enough like they’re the cutest I also have a headcanon that when they both move to Earth Jacin eventually retires from being her bodyguard and goes to medical school and they get to grow old somewhere where it always snows.

1ST PLACE

KAIDER- I love them they’re my favourite book couple ever actually like they’re like the first couple I ever genuinely shipped. And they were perfect in EVERY BOOK LIKE I WAS STRAPPED ON THIS TRAIN WITH THEM THEYRE SO ENDEARING AND PERFECT. Like ugh I genuinely had no notes on them for like bad stuff that I didn’t like. Like as I’m typing I’m think of criticism??? They’re so loyal to each other it’s makes me wanna BAWL AND THEYRE SO IN LOVE IT JUST YES. One of the main reasons I love them is because we had the two of them for so long like in Cinder it was only two POVs (if you don’t count Dr. Erland) and we got to see how they felt constantly and they’re such lil idiots and I love them like they’re it. I also love how much they compliment each other and bring out the best parts in the other if that makes sense like Kai learns a lot from her.They did almost lose to Jacinter tho and it came VERY CLOSE

So it seems like you've watched a bunch of K-dramas and I was wondering if you have any recommendations for a first one to watch for someone who's never watched any Korean shows, let alone many dramas either? I know this is vague and of course tastes vary, but does anything come to mind? Not sure if it's a common sub-genre, but bonus if they aren't super dark and grim. Thanks so much, love your writing!

i love foreign dramas! most of what i watch is from korea and china, but i've watched a few really good ones from thailand and japan too

some of these exist multiple places, but if it's possible to watch it on viki, that's my recommendation. their translations tend to be the best

business proposal (korea, netflix) is a really good intro to kdramas and covers a lot of common tropes, plus the main and secondary couples have FANTASTIC chemistry, which can be rare. a woman pretends to be her rich friend on a blind date, but it ends up being with the ceo of her company and identity shenanigans and hijinks ensue. if you like this one, you'll also really like what's wrong with secretary kim? (korea, viki) but i'd watch this one first because it's a little bit less wacky

the romance of tiger and rose (china, viki) is extremely cute and stars zhao lusi, who i love. a scriptwriter gets trapped in her own alternate historical drama script as a character that she kills off in episode three and has to try and change the story to ensure her own survival and falls in love along the way. it's meta enough that it gives you a good sense for the vibe of historical/fantasy chinese dramas. the acting can be a little meh from some characters in this one, but the leads are all great and respective emotional support characters for the male and female lead are hysterical

word of honor (china, viki) is i think a digestible-ish intro to the wuxia genre, but honestly you just kind of have to jump into wuxia and trust you'll figure out the tropes and world basics as you go. a dying former leader of an assassination organization gets stalked by an unhinged serial killer who's also an excellent cook. they fall in love an adopt a son. the ending here isn't fully happy as some beloved characters die

mr. queen (korea, viki) is one of my absolute favorites and straightforward enough that i don't think the politics are too confusing for someone going in with no background in historical korean culture and politics. a male chef drowns and ends up in the body of queen cheorin, the main wife of the king from the late 1800s, and is determined to return home and NOT fall in love with the king. it's unintentionally very queer and the acting and plot is really a plus here.

bad buddy (thailand, youtube) is a bl drama that is about the sons of neighbors who hate each other going from eternal rivals to boyfriends. it's cute and the chemistry pops off. thai dramas are top tier for non censored queer content, but be prepared for some awkward dialogue and a lot of product placement. the chemistry of the leads tends to make up for this. a tale of 1000 stars (thailand, youtube) is one of the worst offenders of this, but the leads carried that show on the power of their vibes and sexual tension alone. kinnporsche (thailand, dramacool) is the best thai drama i've watched, but i would not describe it as light.

crash landing on you (korea, netflix) is another favorite, but you do need to just disassociate a bit from the fact that it takes place in north korea. a successful girlboss ceo is paragliding, gets caught in a storm, and ends up north korea. a military official finds her and after some light threatening agrees to try and get her back to korea instead of turning her in or killing her, but to pull this off she has to pose as his fiance. the relationships in this one are so good, and it's a happy ending for our main, but it takes some trials and our secondary couple does NOT end happily ever after.

i'm currently going feral over love like the galaxy (china, viki), but i think it's better appreciated after consuming another historical chinese dramas so you have socio-political-trope context for what's happening

goblin (korea, viki), untamed (china, viki), and nirvana in fire (china, viki) are some of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE shows but i think opening with them would be a mistake and you'll miss a lot nuance going in cold

Ok so, 2020 has been A LOT but on a personal note one of the most surprising things to happen was me discovering Dramione fanfiction and becoming unashamedly obsessed with it. I really didn’t see that coming but I’m here now and I’m here to stay.

I think I started reading in the Dramione fandom around mid July last year?? (In all honesty I’ve lost any true sense of time’s progression at this point so I could be well off the mark with that) And I’ve decided to compile a list of all my favourite fics I’ve read so far. Why? I really just want to gush over all the amazing writers I have found through this fandom because y’all deserve it.

Side note: If any of the authors actually sees this post just dm so I can buy you coffee or post you writing supplies or something idk I feel like that’s the least I can do for all your amazing work x

Remain Nameless by @heyjude19-writing

Ok I have to start with RN because this fic is pretty much the sole reason I decided to create an account with A03 or a tumblr or just decided to get involved with this fandom at all.

I headcannon this story hard. But I think even if you aren’t a fan of Dramione you should just read this because it is so unbelievably good and well written and poignant and Draco’s sarcastic personality in this is truly a thing of beauty in this - I relate to his inner monologue’s on a deep personal level.

I could rave about this story any time, any day of the week, just ask me. In fact, maybe I’ll just start a HeyJude19 fan club to fulfill that urge.

There are so many elements that I love but for the sake of brevity, RN is a beautifully told story of Draco and Hermione finding love and healing in a post-war HP setting. Heyjude19 had the very special ability of making me want to simulatenously laugh, cry and swoon with the power of her words. Just stop what you are doing and go read it now if you havent already, ok?

I also really enjoyed reading Bells on a Hill, Beers, Potions and Unwise Notions and A Shift in Focus, if you are looking for smaller fics, definitely give these a go. They are all funny and heartfelt stoires that will make your tippy toes wriggle with glee.

The Rights and Wrongs Series by @lovesbitca8

The Right Thing To Do, All The Wrong Things and The Auction are the holy trinity of Dramione writing. I have christened it thus, so mote it be. And frankly I’m not interested in any other opinion than that one, thank you very much!

After reading this series I don’t think I’ll be able to look back on the orginal HP books without thinking of Hermione’s and Draco’s memories of their time at Hogwarts in these fics as anything other than strictly cannon.

So many things to love about this series but I think one of the major highlights was Hermione and Draco’s use of occlumency. LoveBitca8 created such beautiful visuals with how occlumency works as a magical practice and seeing Draco and Hermione so devoted to eachother to the point of safeguarding their inner most feelings to protect eachother was unbelievably romantic and poetic.

Also the smut is divine ;)

My heart will never be the same after reading this story. Like I actually can’t think about this fic without getting a lump at the back of my throat. I have never felt so emotionally ruined after reading anything, compared to the likes of this fic. Just please, please read it. To badly quote HP, reading Manacled will make you suffer but you’re going to be happy about it.

The flashbacks are a rollercoaster in of themselves but the way Hermione inadvertently refers to them when she is still in a state of memory loss was so heartbreaking to read. My heart still aches for them both. Also its a truly satisfying to see Draco and Hermione written in a way were they are both so fiercly protective of one another. They make my insides go soft.

I also really enjoyed Snow Fall, Now Is A Gift and All You Want by the author but to be honest anything written by Senlinyu is always thoroughly enjoyable and worth a look.

The Erised Effect by @adaprix

Ada is QUEEN of dramione smut but ‘The Erised Effect’ is top tier. Its equal parts funny, romantic, sentimental and oh so sexy. Ada really knows how to build and build on sexual tension and doesn’t disappoint on the final delivery. I’m a big admirer of her writing style and just veraciously read whatever she posts but ‘The Erised Effect’ is just golden. A must read. (Also Pansy’s sexual fantasy in this story is a visual I don’t think I’ll ever be able to remove from my brain so thanks for that Ada)

Also quick side note: Adaprix’ stories were the first I read when I was looking into this fandom and it was enough to get me hooked on the pairing from the get go so I have that to thank Ada for too. I remember devouring all the stories she had posted to A03 and when I was done I was like... now what am I supposed to do with my life?? And that’s basically when I began to look deeper into the fandom and thus the course of my life in 2020 changed for the better.

Some other stories I love by her are Break for Me, All My Sins, The Big 4-0, The Fucklust Series and The Flat in Bath.

This 6th Year AU where Draco and Hermione work together on a class assignment and end up falling in love had me feeling all kinds of ways when I read it. I almost don’t know where to start but I think one of the stand out things for me was how immersed I felt in reading it.

Hogwarts is captured really well, you get a good sense of class atmospheres, character nuances and behind the scenes of events that happen in HBP but from a Draco and Hermione’s perspectives. It’s well executed and intricate tapestry of a fic. With an excellent plot twist ending!

Also Hermione and Draco’s relationship in this is equal parts fluffy and smutty and it just ticks all the right boxes that you want to see for those characters ;)

Breath Mints / Battle Scars by @onyx-and-elm

The angst in this one is just *chef’s kiss*

God I love this fic. The way Draco is portrayed is very true to his defensive and tetchy character in the original books but he is also given so much more depth. The way his diary entries are written are just so well executed. It’s a true testament to the author’s creative writing skill. And I LOVE how even though Draco is clearly in such a messed up place, he still has a basic level of self respect and dignity that he won’t tolerate being used or undervalued in his relationship with Hermione.

Yep, I really love Draco’s characterisation in this one if you can’t tell. But Hermione is also well written too. Her stuggles and trauma of returning to Hogwarts after war is described in a believable and grounded way. And my heart definitely ached for them both. I just wanted to wrap the pair of them in a big fuzzy blanket and tell them that everything will be alright.

WANDS OUT! by @persephonestone

This murder mystery / Dramione / Theo x Harry / AU crossover is everything I didn’t know I wanted until I read it. I felt like I was picked up and plonked right into an alternative dimension where all the characters of HP are just living it up in an Agatha Christie novel.

It’s a funny and clever story that I found refreshing to read amongst all the other fanfics that are usually cemented in the HP timeline or universe. Theodore Nott in this fic is perfection he should be written like this in every fic from now on in my opinion. I couldn’t stop giggling any time he had a scene in the story.

And the ‘only one bed’ trope in this fic is 10/10. I don’t want to give spoilers but ohmygod. It hits all the right notes.

The One With Technical Difficulties by cassielassie

Cassielassie has an excellent three part series of Dramone called ‘The One with...” but I have to give special credit to this story in particular for one main reason. ELEVATOR TROPES. I can’t get enough of em. I think I have my early childhood viewings of NCIS to thank for my obsession with elevator tropes they just do something to me that simply cannot be explained with mere words. The palpable sexual tension of being in a broken down elevator with an ‘enemies to lovers’ pairing, a heated arguement breaks out followed by a discovery of mutual feelings and a romantic embrace...

Eugh. It gets me everytime. And this fic is no exception. I loved it for all the reasons I’ve already stated above but also for the attention to detail in Draco and Hermione’s careers makes this one particularly immersive. The dynamics between them established in this one-shot are convincingly portrayed and the chemistry between them is so undeniably hot.

The Eagle’s Nest by HeartOfAspen

Finally! A fic that gives me the Ravenclaw representation I crave. I think I could recommend this fic on the lore depicted of Ravenclaw house alone. ‘The Stacks’ and Rowena Ravenclaw’s own ‘come and go room’ are just such cool details that I could see being real in the HP universe.

This fic is so cosy and makes me feel like I’m just popping back into Hogwarts for another year. You get to see all the usuals like prof. Mcgongall, Nearly headless Nick, PEEVES, Hagrid, as well as learn more about minor characters from the other school houses. The story follows Hermione going to her day to day classes and there are interesting concepts about magic and alchemy that are explored.

Draco and Hermione’s relationship in this one is of course very fluffy and heartfelt. But it’s the attention to detail that really makes this fic outstanding and the experience of reading it feels fleshed out and true to HP universe.

A shorter fic by HeartofAspen that I recommend is one called Set in Stone, it has an adventurous, Indianna Jones vibe to it, that I am so down for.

Teachable Moments by @purplesugarquills

In this fic Hermione is an innocent little virgin determined to learn everything about sex. And Draco Malfoy is her tutor. If that isn’t enough to get you on board then I don’t know what is. Both Heartfelt and Steamy. PurpleSugarQuills writes smut so well but it’s the progression of their growing attachment and the nervous treading of new uncharted waters of romantic relationships for both of them that just adds a whole other level of feels to the story. Also chapter 9 is like reading poetry - its so good. Eugh just give it a read if you haven’t already.

Les Pèlerins by @pacific-rimbaud

This story is high art. It’s transcendent. Reading this story feels like the emotional equivalent of standing around a hundred glowing fairy lights, sipping hot cocoa and being wrapped in the loving embrace of a s/o. I can’t speak my praises highly enough or even become passably coherent in my words when I try to articulate a review.

From the very first paragraph I felt like I was just whisked away on a Parisian holiday and I’ve never even bloody been to Paris but damn it if this story didn’t make me feel like I was there. The writing style is just so tactile and intense it’s like I could feel the cold winter air brush against me as I read it. Eugh I just completely fell in love with the story and the writer.

GGAW2021 DAY 1: Favorite Brio Scenes

First Domestic Spat

This is the first scene I watched where I was like “Hello” there’s more to this relationship than Rio shamelessly ogling Beth. They’re both feeling some type of way.

Beth is feeling betrayed and angry because she thought they’d reached a point where they didn’t play games like this. She thought they were getting to more equal footing.

Rio’s feeling some type of way because A) seeing her emotional is making him emotional and he’s realizing that that’s not a very boss like response to her anger; he’s in danger of catching feelings and he KNOWS it and that’s why he’s like this is done and B) Beth is putting words into his mouth with all her talk of when’s he gonna come and murder her and he high key feels hurt that she thinks he would do that.

And the 🍒 on top? Rio calling Beth Elizabeth. This scene is just beautiful and angsty and I love it. 👩‍🍳💋

Beth’s Pleased Smile

This moment is just cute. Beth is just tinkled pink when Rio says he’s going to up the drop because she delivers. After he leaves, she just can’t stop smiling. Ahh, for them to be newly crushing on each other again. 🥰

Does Nobody Windex That Mirror?

Y’all had to know I was going to include this scene. I mean, it’s iconic. It’s the scene that sailed a thousand Brio shippers over the edge. When I first saw it, I was in shock. Like it’s season 2. Isn’t this scene like 2-3 seasons too early? Aren’t the writers gonna drag this out?

Looking back, I’m so glad they didn’t. This was a great moment to show their dynamic, who they are separately as well as who they are together. On her own, Beth is just desperately wanting to be something, to have power, to be bad, but not murderous bad. On his own, Rio is smart, good at reading situations and people, adaptable, and more comfortable with who he is than Beth. Beth just wants to be understood by somebody. Rio just wants someone to be on his side. He’s content with who he is as a person, but he’s lonely.

Here we see how in tune they are with each other. Being able to nonverbally communicate like that is a top-tier level skill. Plus, this scene was just 🔥❤️‍🔥🔥

The Great Panty Debate of 2019 🩲

This scene has everything. A spirited debate on what to call a woman’s undergarments, Rio’s musical laugh, Dean getting dragged, Rio offering to white knight and get Beth’s money back, Beth voluntarily opening up to Rio...

The Scene Where Rio and Beth Make Up Their Own Rules To 20 Questions

The chemistry and tension in this scene is palpable. You can feel it through the screen. It starts off with Rio being his regular ol’ Cheshire Cat self, taunting Beth with his riddles, but then we glean some pretty interesting insights into what’s in their heads. Interesting how Beth’s first question is about Rhea....and whether she’s his ex-wife or not... And on Rio’s side, we find out that he’s not ever expecting Beth to pay off the body. No, he’s expecting her to work for him indefinitely. I wonder why he’d want that... 🤔

Amidst the banter, we got the delicious sounds of them calling each other by their given names.

Now, even though this scene ended as frustratingly as possible with Rio kicking Beth out, I still love it. I love seeing Beth being so transparent in her feelings for Rio. She’s practically begging to be kissed. Of course, Rio is still hurt from the previous booting from her boudoir and her blocking his calls. Plus, I think he believes that she’s bad for him, that’s she a weakness. But I don’t believe for a second that deep down he didn’t want to kiss Beth. He’s just exercising some extreme self-control fueled by his anger and resentment here.

Summary: Connie ends up ghosting you as the Scout regiment gets more busy so you unexpectedly join the Scouts, making him regret his actions.

Connie x Fem!Reader

It was unexpected when Connie had stopped sending you letters or coming by your place during the weekends when he wasn’t working.

But as the scouts had gotten busier, you heard less from him and soon enough he disappeared as a whole. There were times when you would go over to the base to see if he was okay just to be told by his friends that he was ‘busy’ and couldn’t come to the door to talk to you.

After that you had a brief moment of feeling broken and sad. The chemistry you two shared was something you cherished deeply and held it close to your heart. You two were always close before he went off to the training corps and after he was done with that, he had admitted his feelings for you and wanted to move forward and you accepted.

He always knew how to make you laugh and make you happy. He knew you better than anyone and he also cared about you more than anything. He didn’t mean to ghost you but he just felt like it was better for you so you didn’t get hurt.

He didn’t want you worrying or wonder if he’ll make it back alive. He felt like you deserved better than him and he wanted to let you live happily even if that meant him ghosting you.

You thought he was a complete idiot. You knew about him always making dumb decisions without thinking them through and always doing something reckless so him ghosting you didn’t break you down heavily but it did hurt.

After some time, you had started to miss him to the point where his habits had passed on to you, making you be reckless and make that last minute decision to join the scouts.

Of course it wasn’t easy, it took time but you managed and you were a lot stronger than what people see you as.

Once you had managed to make it into the scouts, it wasn’t long until you were noticed by the top tier scouts, such as Levi and Hange.

When Connie’s eyes seen you the first day you came, being shown around and talked to by Hange, his heart had gone up to his throat. The way you still looked so beautiful, it had caught him completely by surprise. He was speechless.

Throughout the whole day he watched you train, watched you show your training skills to the scouts and impressed nearly everyone. He was so stunned, he couldn’t stop watching you and he started to regret leaving you behind all alone.

He loved you, of course he loved you way too much. You were a beautiful prize in his eyes, he was always grateful and appreciative to have someone like you.

Fuck, he missed you so much and just looking at you right now- he had to hold himself back from running up to you and hugging you, kissing you and so much more.

It didn’t take him long to finally get you alone, grabbing your arm and shoving you inside his bedroom on the base and closed the door behind him, he wasn’t utterly mad but he was shocked and upset you risked joining the scouts.

“What are you doing here?” He asked, his voice quiet as his large eyes searched yours.

“Uhh, you mean what I’m doing at my own job?” You said in a confused tone and he shook his head.

“You know what I mean, Y/N.”

“Riiight, let me ask a better question. Why did you ghost me?” You abruptly said and it made a sad expesssion come across his face.

“It wasnt on purpose, I just- I felt like you were better off.” Connie simply shrugged and you stared at him like he was an idiot.

“Don’t tell me shit about what you thought was better for me. You were better for me, Connie.” You stared at him, growing irritated but you couldn’t stay mad at him.

You leaned over and gently punched his arm playfully, trying to hit some sense into him. You wanted to punch him in the face, you wanted to hurt him and make him feel the pain you felt when he left you with no answers but seeing his face had made your knees grow weak and you had no control of your sudden actions.

You were quick to cup his cheeks and smash your lips onto his, catching him off guard as his back hit the wall behind him but he didn’t hesitate to move his lips with yours, his hands reaching down to wrap around your waist.

You both had missed each other so much it was lingering off the both of you and into the air as the tension grew thick. Your heart had fluttered from the soft touch of his lips on yours, making you realize just how much you still love him.

Connie felt the exact same, seeing your face had brought so many memories back for him. From when you were kids to now, everything had flashed before his eyes and his love for you had blossomed once again, making him realize just how much of an idiot he was for disappearing on you.

You were the best thing to happen to him, you pushed him forward and encouraged him, wanting him to strive to be the best version of himself. You were one of a kind and he hated how he left you so suddenly and never gave it a second thought. You were worth more than that.

His heart had pounded inside of his chest, it felt like it was going to explode with happiness but also sadness from the lingering guilt he felt for hurting you. He didn’t deserve to have you here kissing him but he didn’t want to push away, he didn’t want you to slip away again.

He took the opportunity to lead you towards his bed, sitting down on the edge and instantly pulling you down on his lap with his hands, not wasting anymore time- afraid it’ll be ripped away. You were breathless against his lips, the soft touches and the way his tongue had slipped into your mouth- you had instantly melted against him.

He was your safe haven, he was your home, he was everything you needed and more.

Your small hands had moved down, wrapping your arms around his neck as your chests press against one another and soft hums left your lips before you ended up pulling back to catch some of your breath, your eyes connecting with his and you could see the hint of sparkle in them, making your heart flutter.

“I missed you so much, you have no idea.” Connie spoke up first, one of his hands cupping your cheek and the other rested on your hip as he stroked his thumb over your skin.

“I’m sorry.” He said again, the guilt weighing on him heavily and he hoped you would forgive him, maybe go back to the way things were before.

You shook your head, shushing him as your fingertips traced along his skin on the back of his neck. The sudden reminder of him ghosting you entered your mind but the way he apologized and looked genuine and looked upset with what he had done- it somewhat made your heart flutter.

Your lips landed on his again, trailing your hands down his chest and reached down to grab the hem of his shirt, tugging it over his head and connected eyes with him. He was in awe, watching your movements and letting you take his shirt off before finally taking some control and tugging the uniform off your body.

He didn’t even let you do anything else but wrap your arms back around him as he left you half naked on his lap. His tongue running over his dry lips, his eyes scanning over your body and leaned over to pepper kisses down to your neck, leaving wet sloppy kisses down to your chest.

Reaching around, he was quick to unclip your bra and let it slide off your arms and onto the floor. His rough hands had replaced your bra and cupped your breasts gently, giving them a firm squeeze while sucking bruises on your soft skin, making soft breaths leave your parted lips.

“Connie,” The way his name slipped effortlessly from your lips had made a sudden switch in him flip.

The sudden feeling of what was happening and how your voice had brought him back to reality, making him realize just how badly he had fucked up and how much he missed you. It was all clouding inside of his head, almost making him lightheaded.

His soft eyes looked up at your face, his heart pounding inside of his chest and his hands slowly slipped down to grab a firm grip of your hips, almost tugging you closer to him even though you were already pretty close. He planted one kiss on your jawline, his fingertips brushing along your skin and grabbing the hem of your underwear.

The sudden actions of him moving to where you were laying down on his bed, his body hovering over yours and his fingers tugging the waistband before sliding your underwear down your legs painfully slow. He never usually took his time when in bed with you, not that it was always rushed- he just never fully got a chance to be able to have his way with you for hours because of the Scouts.

But this time was different, he couldn’t care less about his duties or what he was supposed to be doing right now, all he wanted was you and to let you know that his full attention was on you, no matter if this lasted minutes or hours.

His rough hands had grabbed a hold of your legs, spreading them apart in front of him and he couldn’t help but hum to himself, his eyes devouring every inch of your body and it had made your skin grow quite hot in seconds, the nerves kicking in and making you feel shy all over again.

But Connie didn’t care to notice, he was in awe of you and he finally leaned down, planting sloppy wet kisses up your leg and to your inner thigh. He had playfully sunk his teeth in your skin, leaving a nasty bruise and then trailing up to leave a few more. He wanted to make sure you were reminded of who you belong to.

You couldn’t even think straight, your mind clouded and the only thoughts you had were set on him. Your small hands had reached down and landed on the back of his head, there wasn’t much to grab but you insisted on trying to pull his head up to where you needed him the most, feeling him laugh against your thigh.

“Stop being so needy or else I’ll tease you all night.” He suddenly said, his eyes meeting yours and suddenly a lump had formed inside of your throat.

“Got it?” He asked, his fingertips digging into your thighs and you slowly nodded your head but the way he squeezed your thighs tighter, it made a soft noise slip from your lips.

“Got it, sorry.” You managed to mumble out and that satisfied him enough to continue his previous actions, making you almost whine.

“Good girl.”

The change in his behavior and the actions he’s never really done in bed before was all a new experience to you but you couldn’t complain, it was actually making you more wet as time went on and he knew that, that’s why he was going so damn slow but he also wanted to admire you like the gem you are.

Once he was high enough, still kissing the very top of your inner thigh, you could feel his breath hitting your core and it made you squirm beneath him, wanting to shut your legs but the firm grip he had on them, it was nearly impossible to try to pry them shut.

The way your skin felt like it was boiling hot, everything he was doing to you was making you all hot and bothered. He could tell just how bad you were aching just by the look of you but he played it off as if he wasn’t paying much attention to your whines and squirming body, instead he wanted to make this worth every second.

“Connie..” You said his name again, his big eyes meeting yours while he gave a firm squeeze of your upper thighs, smirking at you.

“Hm?” He was teasing you beyond what he has done before, making you all that impatient and needy, you were a complete mess and he knew that.

“C’mon, quit teasing.” You barely managed to stutter out considering how slow his hands were rubbing your thighs just below where you wanted his fingers to touch you most. He was driving you crazy.

“Teasing?” He tried to play it off, his smirk only growing wider and suddenly his fingers were hovering over your clit, gently brushing his fingers over it before firmly pressing them down and rubbed in a painfully slow motion.

You couldn’t even open your mouth to say anything else, you threw your head back against the mattress and kept your tight grip on his head as his fingers teased you, his eyes burning into your face as he watched. The way your face mixed with pleasure and your mouth parted open, a soft moan slipping out- it all made him hungry but he held himself back, this was about you.

“I’m going to make you beg for it all night.” His words were low but enough to make you buck your hips up into his hand and that had made him push them back down with his free hand.

He was going to make sure this lasted and have you a complete mess afterwards, no matter how many rounds it’ll take.

The high school sweethearts storyline was cute

Great parents

I still think she was cheating, it was a little shady that her phone rang right after he got off the landline

“Make sure he knows you weren’t always so serious” or whatever she said was sweet

Her death didn’t cause tears but seeing Hotch cry out her death did cause tears

Feel like her storyline could have ended better, they didn’t really need to kill her but they did it for the ✨razzle dazzle✨

Maybe they could have gotten a divorce and been great co-parents

Overall: 8/10 (her dying was a shitty end)

Gideon and Sarah (the lady from the cabin)

Very short storyline

She made him happy

The dance scene in the cabin in Fisher King pt.1 was adorable

Would have like to seen more of her

Overall: 10/10 (they were the least problematic couple)

JJ and Will

Love them

Will is non-problematic (stan him for clear skin)

Their family is adorable

He’s a great father (literally put his job on hold and moved states for her to continue her job after Henry)

She could have definitely treated him better

Could have included their other kid more, it’s always about Henry

Will is always about JJ, JJ tends to wander ? (the je*d situation)

Overall: 7/10 (cause of the je*d situation and they could have made the storyline better)

Spencer and Mauve

Again, short and shitty storyline

There was so much more that could have been done here (like maybe let him be happy for once??)

In suspense for the longest time about the secret phone calls and when Mauve was finally introduced, we got like 2 minutes of proper screen time with her

Their little dance was cute

Her death was absolute bullshit

She tells Spencer that she loves him on the phone and he's in shock so he doesn't say it back, then she hangs up

When he finally sees her in person, she’s minutes away from her death

He had to tell her that he didn’t love her even thought he did (at least it seemed like he did)

Bringing her back in season 15 was nice so we had some closure ?? (but why was she blonde ? they have hair salons in heaven ??)

Overall: 6/10 (hated the way it ended :( )

Derek and Savannah

Savannah was the perfect woman for Derek. She’s smart, has a good job with a weird schedule (like his), not to mention gorgeous

But making him settle down with the first woman he really showed interest in, didn't make sense

If he had a previous relationship that didn’t work and then introduced Savannah, it would have made sense

They were well suited, personality and looks wise

Would have liked to seen their wedding

He got married and we didn’t even get to see it :(

The way their storyline ended was a mess ??

He gets kidnapped and when she gets him back, she gets shot and they almost lose the baby, then Morgan almost gets himself killed again and barely got back in time for the birth

Overall: 8/10 (could have been better written but they were cute)

Matt and Kristy

Unproblematic favs

King and Queen shit

Great parents

Love love love their storyline, from CMBB to CM, it was all around good

They’re both hot and educated

I don’t understand where they had make to make a 5th kid when he’s never home, she’s a lawyer (that has to be time consuming) and 4 children to take care of

Their love as always on display, seen the rawest version of it in 13x19

Overall: 10/10 (love them)

Penelope and Kevin

The shower scene when Rossi went to her apartment was the peak scandalous moment for them

Her wants and needs were too much for him to handle

She was super independent and he wanted her to do what he wants in a way

The whole marriage plot was dropped real quick

He wanted a farm ?? (if I remember correctly) and she didn’t want that

The end of their relationship was weird

They had that moment at JJ and Will’s wedding and then that was it ?? He kinda just vanished after ?

Overall: 5/10 (average couple)

Derek and Penelope

Top tier

Would have be a power couple if they got together (already a power couple but would have officially been one)

The way they look at each other

The way the protect each other, especially him with her

They’re in love you can’t tell me otherwise

If they weren’t in love, why would he come back to the BAU and only see her ?

They probably hooked up on the lows

There was a lot of potential here

Spencer and Derek

In 4x03, you could see the worry on his face when she was inside. It was more than a boss/subordinate worry, he genuinely cares about her

JJ and Spencer

Would have maybe made sense if they introduced it season 1-2

Didn’t make sense after she was married and had 2 kids

The confession she gave him felt forced (under the circumstances, they were but still)

The awkwardness after was weird, like you’re telling me the team and Will didn’t pick up on it at he wedding ?

Tara and Daryl

The moments they had were sweet afterwards like their hug

They both had grown a lot since their marriage

It was very mature of her to be happy for him after they split (she’s cool like that)

Very short storyline

Overall: 6/10 (they were very normal)

JJ and Emily

Elite

Would have a power couple if the writers had actually put them together

should have confessed to Spencer that she loved Emily and not him

All their moments were adorable

Hot moms and Co parent Will (would have been so cute)

Overall: 9/10 (power couple)

Emily and Andrew

Short storyline

Kinda pointless ?

Felt super last minute and rushed

Their dinner date was cute

Overall: 5/10 (they were eh, could have been written better)

Luke and Lisa

They were cute

Again a very short storyline

She was very determined to make Luke talk about his feelings (kinda pointless ?? he’d talk when he as ready)

Should have called it quits after Phil died

Wasn’t needed to drag it along, but they did and we didn’t even see her?? They just kept mentioning her

Overall: 6/10 (average couple)

Luke and Penelope

Adorable

Would have loved to see this storyline start earlier

Maybe get to see the date ??

Their little flirting/bantering was cute

There was definitely chemistry there

Spencer and Max

This felt so rushed

She was there for 2 episodes

Dragging her into the Cat plot was shit

It was nice to see him happy tho

Would have liked to seen her nephew again, he was funny

They made each other happy

She was good with Jack

Understanding about his job (unlike miss haley 🙄)

Would have to seen this go somewhere else

Her taking the job in Hong Kong was just a shitty end for their relationship

Rossi and Carolyn

This was sweet

Her death was sad, it was clear he still cared about her

She was only there for like 2-3 (??) episodes

Overall: 6/10 (unproblematic but normal)

Rossi and Hayden

This was also cute

Joy was the only good thing from this marriage ??

Them dating for like half a minute was weird

Making Rossi say that racist ass comment after he was literally married to beautiful woman of colour was stupid

Rossi and Krystall

Loved them together

Their little sneaky links were hilarious

Miss Krystall is a bad bitch

She’s super supportive

Overall: 8/10 (my favourites out of Rossi’s wives)

Rossi and Strauss

Hilarious together, it was cute

Rossi was always on her ass, he did what he wanted

Her death was kinda shitty, Rossi cared about her tho

Reid and Garcia bumping into him and then seeing her was funny

Supergirl Season 2 episode 8 Medusa review part 2

If your curious part 1 was just my breakdown of Kara and Mon-els relationship that got way too long. But as always SPOILERS AND GAY THOUGHTS AHEAD

Me and kel get so excited when Lenas in an episode. Like practically giddy. I can’t help smiling when shes on screen honestly. And yes Katie McGrath is beautiful, but beyond that such a pretty smile and lovely voice. I’m sure ratings started to spike when she joined the cast. Okay enough about pretty girls on to the review

Tipsy fucking Alex though guys I can’t get over this mess of a person.

Alex: if I have to come out to my mom then I choose to do it drunk

Alex: wait no my coming out juice

Kara Danvers sneaky sneaker extraordinaire can totally interview Lena and find out Cadmus things without anyone knowing. The confidence this goofball has is top tier

Underrated relationship: Alex and Winn though. I really really love Winn and honestly Alex is such big sister energy to both him and Kara.

wow Lenas pretty in the interview scene. A touch of auburn hair from the sunlight really makes this shot and we never get to see her with her hair down. Fan service honestly, or maybe she heard a certain beef cake reporter was gonna come by and wanted to dazzel her.

Lena: hair up is for business. Hair down is for flirting friendship time with Kara

Poor baby thinks she falls short nooooo. Your doing your best godamn your only like 25 jesus. Kara give her a hug she needs love and affection

Kara thinks shes being so sneaky in this interview. Such a golden retriever, bad at sneakin. As soon as she toes the line Lena catches on and kicks her out. Really good acting in the scene, the subtle change in expression to show Lenas guard raising. Good job Katie.

Real quick Lena why is your office so ugly? How do you keep it clean? You spend 99% of your days in this place and its whiter than a hospital room. I hate it. Why is your desk an oval? and why does it have a hole in it? Kara cant eat you out in secret anymore damn.

OOHHHhhhh noooo the fucking gas bomb in the bar what the fuck. EVERYBODIES DEAD JESUS WHAT WAS THAT

Poor Mon-el. What happened at the bar was fucked up, and he feels like its fault when its obviously not.

Love that he and Kara are having bro time playing some Monopoly. Oh no not Kara asking if he likes her. Honestly thought these two had good chemistry in this scene. Im a sucker for dumbass not understanding certain words and phrases. So Kara having to reiterate her questions and finally being like “You don’t want to mate with me do you?” was super fun. Omegaverse vibes mfs. Although I am confused by mon-els reaction “I mean have you seen the kind of women I’ve been attracting?” I honestly don’t know what this means.

Kara internal reaction though: Oh thank god

Wow Kara really just has no regard for her own life, huh? she just opens the door and possibly contaminates herself. It’s good to want to help people, but love you gotta care about yourself too

Good reveal with the fortress of solitude. Oof Kara gonna feel like its her fault all those aliens died and mon-els sick. They do a really good job of showing Karas relationship with her parents through their holograms. She wants so badly to see them again, to talk to them. And she can, but not really. They just aren’t real.

Lena cattily to her mother: im used to celebrating holiday weekends alone at my desk

me to Kara: please invite her to thanksgiving

Okay so Lena being adopted is another interesting parallel to Kara. Also the fact that both Kara and Lena fall into there families shadows, and are left behhind or forgotten. Really interesting how Lena and Karas relationship is so similar to Clark and Lex’s for obvious purposes. Though the CW queer coding the fuck out of their relationship in Smallville really only adds to Supercorp fever. Its always been Homoerotic subtext Harold!

Me watching Lena and Lillian trade verbal blows: Wow ya’lls relationship is fucked up. Lex and Lionelle would spar and fence but you two are on another level jesus

Lena: I know your lying

Lillian: and how could you possibly know that?

Lena: because you told me you loved me. And we both know thats not true

Wow Kara just doesn’t wait huh? Oh cadmus is going to be at LCorp? Not on my watch. Lena’s there. I know this because I tune into her heart beat just to check on her cus she likes to work late. Don’t worry Alex it’s for friendship reasons.

That LCorp security guard got princess carried for .2 seconds. Best moment of his life.

God its like dark out. Lenas working on a holiday weekend into the night. I hate this, give her friends.

Lena looks so scared when Kara gets thrown into the giant LCorp sign

And then hurt Kara looking up at her with dread.

Kara internal: fuck don’t come out now. I came here to save you

God I love the protectiveness. Its *chefs kiss*. Hank throwing the beam at Lena and Kara even in her hurt state throwing herself in front of it. Sometimes self sacrifice is gay. But how Lena looks at her after wards like “I can’t believe I’m alive. I can’t believe she chose to save me”. Met with a gruff “Get out of here!”. mm yes this is my kind of content. Fight for me.

I was robbed an aftercare scene but I doubt it will be the last time. (*COUGHS* the “im leaving” phone call *COUGHS*)

Talking about the virus Eliza: what about Lena Luthor?

Kara: What about her?! (super defensive is also a super power maam)

Winn: Luthors can be pretty good actors

Kara: No, I looked into LENAS EYES. She doesn’t know anything about cadmus or her mother

J’onzz: Would you stake Mon-els life on that?

well I guess that really puts Lena and Mon-el right next to each other in priorities huh? Which one is more important?

Wow Lena totally has a crush on Supergirl after that. Flustered dork.

Lena: *laughs nervously* you know that doors not really an entrance

Okay but the way Lena just says “Anything” all breathless and helpful when Kara says she needs her help. Shes crushin hard

Kara tells Lena her mother is in charge of Cadmus.

Lena: >:(

Annnd the crush is dead. That did not last long. Really love that Lena has such a different relationship with Kara vs Supergirl though, good dynamic having her reactions so different. Which I believe actually relates as a Clark and Lois parallel? Seeing as how Lois has two separate relationships with Clark and Superman.

OOf the way Lenas throat bobs with genuine sadness because who she thought Supergirl was is wrong. Shes just like the rest of them. Thinks Lena is just another crazy Luthor. It hurts

Kara: I know what its like to be disillusioned by our parents, but Im a pretty good judge of character, and you are not like your mother. She is cold and dangerous. And you are too good and too smart to follow in her path. Be your own Hero.

Wow just what a good line. They are capable of some things here and there arent they? Melissa's delivery on this is excellent. And the way Katie McGrath is able to show such depth of sadness and bitterness even from a shot of her BACK is really cool. Great acting in this scene in particular. And I can see why the “desperation to be good” is such a highlighted part of these two relationship. Its the one thing in common between Lena and Supergirl, the place where they can meet in the middle. And the way Lena looks after her as she leaves! AHHH thats the good shit, the pining

Okay big Mon-el scene in coming so if you dont want to hear my ranting skip over this part.

Funny how as soon as Kara has this big impactful scene with Lena full of tension and emotion the writers were like: shit we almost forgot Mon-els dying.

Kara: *staring sadly back into Lenas office kind of wanting to go back in*

Writers: *cough cough* KARA He’s DYINGGGG

Kara: Oh shit right. Mon-el Oh no. My *looks at poorly written handwriting on her palm* romantic interest?

Wow Mon-el looks like shit, poor guy. Someone swaddle this pillow princess and get him some soup.

Heres a question. Kara is visibly upset that Mon-el is dying. Is it because she’s sad that the guy shes likes is dying. Because her friend is dying? Because her father created the virus thats killing him (what the writers want us to think)? Or because no matter what Kara does the people she loves keep falling through the cracks and shes helpless to stop it?

Her parents. Clark. Her adoptive father. Now Lena. Now Mon-el. Why can’t she ever do anything? Why is it always her fault? This poor kid has some deep seeded abandonment issues

Mon-el: you know you look beautiful with the weight of all these worlds on your shoulders.

I do remember my reaction here, cus I thought this was a weird line. A line that was obviously meant to be romantic and complimentary, but it felt unsettled in my stomach. Coming back and watching the scene it sits even more uncomfortably there. He obviously means well, but this line is kind of just shitty. Its a very selfish and unthoughtful thing to say to someone.

Kara’s entire fucking life has revolved around other people and making sure they are happy and taken care of. But having “failed” at such a young age to do the impossible things asked of her (carrying on Kryptons legacy, raising Clark) she overcompensates. Any normal person would just make their life revolve around their family and friends, not healthy but it works. But Kara feels responsibility over an entire world of lost people and lives. So the amount she overcompensates is ungodly. She does have the weight of worlds on her shoulders. This is not a joke or hyperbole. Its just her life. And thats so fucking shitty. And to have someone actually see that and acknowledge it. To make it a reality so to speak. Then to have them say “yeah you look good like this” while you’re a shaking Atlas being crushed. It is just a little too much isn’t it? That pain to have someone see you finally, and then completely miss the point. For them to go “oh wow your so strong. your so brave” instead of “let me help you. you shouldn’t have to do this at all, forget by yourself. But now I am here”.

I imagine this was the scene that crowned my darling himbo boy Mon-Hell? Which is so unfortunate. I hope Im wrong, but I feel that his character might just end up a big missed opportunity

I want everyone to know that me and Kel screamed through the entire enxt few seconds of the scene. We knew the kiss was coming from how they were building it up. But god was it painful, especially for it to be delivered after a line like THAT. But yeah very loud angry screaming

Also not to be that bitch but Kara and Mon-els scene was a total of 1:53 RT, and Kara and Lenas ran at a 1:57 RT. Just sayin...

No Lena don’t be evil thats too sexy...

Okay but the way that Lena just tricks Lillian is so good. Shes so clever. And added bonus she makes her ask for her help, which is nice actually. Lillian's obvious vice is weakness and that is often shown in embarrassment. A woman like this asking for help borders that line of weakness and its nice to see on such a dislikable character. Lena didn’t just get what she wanted she got a point over her mother.

Lena looks good in the purple coat. Repeat she is pretty

Love the mental chess game between Lena and Lillian. Lena offering help right off the bat and giving her the isotope free of charge. And then Lillian making Lena launch the virus to prove herself. Good stuff.

Kara appears: don’t do it Lena!

Lena: why not? im a luthor

Okay so obviously Lena switched the Isotope and the Virus won’t work. But thats what makes this line so perfect. Throwing it back in Supergirls face. Like “Yeah, Im a luthor. And Ill show you what im capable of.” But instead of mass death and destruction Lena saves the day. She saved thousands of lives, and its because shes a Luthor that she was able to do that. Really nice way to full circle that

Wow Lillian really just starts booking it without Lena, huh? bitch

I really love the scene of the virus falling all around National City. The choice of an orangish snow falling was a really really good one. Paired with some excellent music for the mid season finale.

Its sad but I do love Hank just being ready and at peace with death. Im sure he misses his wife and daughters.

Okay but Lena calling the cops is tea. Send your mom to jail honey.

So we’re really not gonna talk about how Lena saved everyones asses? Like don’t you think Supergirl would want to talk to the woman that A) kind of tricked her, and B) saved National City. Thats just what makes sense??? But no we’re going to ignore that the DEO is a kind of shit at their job sometimes. And that the woman that they were accusing of having a part to play in all the xenophobic shit is the one who did their job. BY HER SELF.

Okay rant over. This was a long one review dear god. Really really good episode though. I enjoyed rewatching all the scenes even if it was a mixed bag of feelings. Thanks for reading hope you enjoyed all the screaming!

BL Show Review Series - 2Moons + 2Moons2

The next shows I am going to review come with some confusing context that made me nearly skip it altogether. That would have been a shame, because they quickly became some of my favorites. The shows are 2Moons and its sequel-reboot-thing 2Moons2.

Disclaimer that these are my own opinions, and I don’t know where the BL community as a whole stands on these shows. If I disliked a show you loved or visa versa, no disrespect is intended!

2Moons2 Rating: 8.5/10

So when I first heard about this series, it was with the caveat that the sequel was better than the original. I also heard that there was a whole different cast, so I was under the mistaken assumption that it was an anthology series similar to the HIStory franchise. When I tried to watch 2Moons2, while I enjoyed the characters and the plot, I was turned off by the pacing. The whole thing felt way too rushed, and I gave up midway through episode three.

Then I tried 2Moons, and you can imagine my confusion when it was a different cast, but the exact same characters and story line. I finally did some research into it and discovered that 2Moons was meant to continue with the original cast, but due to contract disputes or blah blah something who cares, the entire show was re-cast for series two. Then to ease fans of the original into it, the first four episodes tell a condensed version of series one.

So while it’s true that you could just watch 2Moons2 and get the whole story, I believe it’s definitely worth it to watch series one first. The story line, which I felt was so rushed in series two, gets room to breathe in series one. If you enjoy slow burn with lots of pining and sexual tension, you’ll have fun with series one.

The cast in series one is excellent as well. Very different from their replacements, but I found it interesting to see the way that the two sets of actors told the same story.

2Moons

The biggest problem with series one is that, well, there’s no problem. In fact, there’s really no plot at all. It’s a story about Yo, who has a crush on Pha and follows him to university. Then, against the backdrop of the Stars and Moon competition, they get together over 12 episodes. That’s it. Literally nothing else happens.

You might think that the competition itself would create some drama, or at least some plot, but no. Yo rehearses and plans his musical performance, but he never seems particularly bothered about winning, which means that you as a viewer aren’t bothered either. In fact, they telegraph early on who is going to win, and then that person...does. And no one really cares. There’s no conflict at all. The setting is an excuse for the characters to interact and go to the beach.

There aren’t any villains or antagonists either. Yo and Pha each have a rival love interest, but neither of them provoke much more than brief jealousy on an otherwise very smooth road to Yo and Pha getting together.

But this simple love story is still very fun. It’s like cotton candy: sweet and pleasant and so easy to swallow that you don’t even need to chew.

Bas, the actor who plays Wayo, has the sweetest face, something that they comment on several times in the story. Much of the heavy lifting in getting you to care about the main relationship is done by him.

Yo is supposed to have changed so much over his final year of high school that he’s nearly unrecognizable to people who knew him. Then, in both series, they show flashbacks, and it’s just the same cute kid, but with glasses. As I watched, I couldn’t help brainstorming ways they could have made him look different. Braces maybe? A different hair style? Some fake pimples? Whatever, roll with it for the sake of an entertaining story.

The character of Pha is a bit of an empty vessel in series one. He’s needlessly rude for reasons that aren’t at all explained. He is dim enough not to know Yo when he sees him, even though HIS NAME IS YO and he has the same best friend that he did in high school. But shh shh we are rolling with it. It’s fine. He is very handsome and has a great smirk, but his acting isn’t great.

Copter and Kimmon made me love the relationship between Ming and Kit. Their spin on it was adorable, and the extra time afforded in series one meant that their dynamic has room to grow. We see more little scenes between them, in addition to the big ones that are included in the series two retelling.

Forth and Beam get very little to do in series one. You can see that they were saving that for series two, so we’ll never know about the actors’ chemistry with one another. The actor who plays Forth did a fine job, but he seems a bit miscast. Forth is supposed to be a bad boy character, but they made him look like just a handsome, friendly, helpful guy. But again, he didn’t get a real chance to shine, so there’s no way to tell if he could have pulled off his bigger scenes in series two.

2Moons2

As I previously mentioned, series two suffers in its early episodes due to its breakneck pacing as it speeds through the retelling of series one. However, if you pair this with series one, then your mind can fill in the blanks that those four episodes leave out and let you enjoy watching the new actors tell the story.

But after that, when the series takes on new material, is when it really comes into its own. With Yo and Pha’s story almost complete, the focus shifts to Ming/Kit and Forth/Beam for the last half of the episodes. That’s how this series moves into the top tier for me. All three relationships get equal weight in the plot, and all of them are equally as compelling.

Forth and Beam’s plot doesn’t start until episode seven, but when it does, it comes in like a freight train. Despite minimal interaction before that, after episode seven, I was all in on that ship. Phoom, who plays Forth in this iteration, definitely better suits the part. They give him a neck tattoo and the actor looks more like the bad boy that Forth is meant to be.

Dome has the most freedom among any of the cast. Beam had so little to do in series one that he gets a clean slate to make the character his own. His Beam is the most difficult character on the show. He’s stubborn and weirdly prescriptivist in his opinions on relationships. For instance, one of his arguments about why he and Forth can’t be together is that they are the same size? Like, bro, what even?

Ming and Kit remain my favorite couple in series two. There is a moment when Ming puts a finger on Kit’s lips that made my heart actually stutter inside of my chest. It doesn’t hurt that Joong, the actor who plays Ming, is a 100% certified dreamboat. His Ming is very classically handsome and effortlessly charming. He follows Kit around like a puppy looking for a pat on the head. Kit never really stands a chance.

And speaking of Kit, Nine’s portrayal of him is as this fierce spitfire who is secretly soft on the inside and afraid to trust Ming’s feelings for him. And he has fantastic hair. Plus, Kit wearing glasses is an absolute mood, and it is a travesty that the show didn’t give us more of it.

Lastly are the main characters of Wayo and Pha. Ben, who plays Pha, is so much better in the role. It might be because he’s given more to do, but his Pha has personality and charisma. It’s easy to see how he would be chosen as the Campus Moon. (Though I can’t imagine what he or Forth did for the talent portion of the competition. Is competitive brooding a thing?)

Earth, the new Wayo, plays up Yo’s naivete and nervousness in a way that made sense considering what his character goes through by the end. It would have been nice to see him stand up for himself a bit though. Instead, he needs Ming, Pha, and the Angel Gang to fight his battles for him. Also, his ability to rock a pink outfit is truly unparalleled.

And the ending? I mean, if the choice is between what happened to Yo or a character being raped (looking at you, Love By Chance), then I’ll pick this option every time. Doesn’t stop it from being a bit silly and over dramatic though.

I would highly recommend both series, and I am very much looking forward to 2Moons3.

Okay, in all seriousness, I still do love this show, but holy shit.

This is going to be an unpopular opinions dump because I can.

Riley is a good character. In fact, she’s a great characters. The fandom just doesn’t know how to pay attention to anybody other than Kate to view Riley as anything but like... demon spawn.

Kate is just as insecure and anxiety ridden as everybody else, and of everybody, probably gives the most shits.

Cairo has more chemistry with everybody than Kate and Eva do

Kate being paranoid in Skype Tomorrow does not mean that Chess would actually leave her. Y’all just project onto Kate a lot.

Kaitlyn Frank and Lauren Zakrin harmonizing to Skype Tomorrow though.

Skype Tomorrow was my favorite song the first time I listened to it, and after that it was nowhere near the top. Because I too am mean, gay, and have trust issues. And then I realized that in comparison to the other songs, I don’t like Skype Tomorrow.

Before The Breakdown is top tier, but I also love Chess, so maybe I’m a bit biased.

Like, the harmonies in BTB are so good, and I play it on loop sometimes because it gets me in the Feels™️

We shouldn’t be erasing any of the characters negative traits. Cairo’s still doesn’t work for much, doesn’t take things seriously, and is really carefree. Write the characters as they are in the show.

If you write about Clark, acknowledge that he has more traits than being a sweetheart. Like, there’s so much you can do with his character because there’s nothing there.

Listening to Forever makes me think of something really stupid that Maya said, and I will now be exposing her. “What if we read the first five books of the Bible together... and we were both girls.... just kidding just kidding.”

Outrageous requests from their girlfriend at the worst possible time

The clap that Reese does in Cairo’s face during CotT is iconic.

CotT lowkey sounds like California Gurls by Katy Perry if you listen hard enough. Like, at the pre-chorus or whatever.

WATT has this terrible transition thing down. We will go from addictions to horny teenagers.

Wallflower has potential to be heartbreaking, but the backing track hides how sad it is.

Cairo was in the wrong during the scene starting Wallflower. Did they both cross a line? Yes. It could’ve been avoided if Cairo didn’t start the argument

I replay Wallflower so that I can aggressively and terribly sing both parts.

Defense is so much better when you have the dialogue in between it.

Also, I know the Defense choreo just from watching it so many times. I wasn’t even trying to learn, I just know it.

WONU’S RUNS, UGH, SHE’S SO AMAZING.

Mattie is so precious, and I love her.

With that being said, she’s not five. She literally cursed in the show, and after Juvie she probably curses the most. She doesn’t need protection because she went through a lot

I haven’t watched Over the Moon because one of my friends, who’s Chinese, said that she didn’t like how it was done, and I’ve been putting it off ever since.

Phoenix is an underrated bop. Like, it’s so good, and we should talk about it. I mean it had to grow on me, but it’s really good.

If you can listen to Phoenix without thinking of the Elmo meme, you’re lying.

The ghosts’ part in Move On is sadder than Kate and Annleigh’s part and I stand by that.

I prefer High School Experience to SUAC mainly because I think High School Experience gives Eva more personality.

Speaking of Eva’s personality, she doesn’t fucking have one. Like, she’s not a fleshed out character, and the fandom does do it either so we’re stuck with Eva Sanchez, Kate’s Girlfriend. It’s unfortunate because like Clark, there’s potential in her character.

I also know the SUAC choreo, but I actively tried to learn that.

I love that in IDK, Cairo just starts off by roasting Farrah. Iconic.

The Cairo-Annleigh tension is so high all the time. Like, the tension.

Cairo and Kate is a great ship, y’all are just cowards.

And now time for my favorite song, The Breakdown. It’s really just because Riley is my favorite character, but like it’s still good regardless of my bias.

The Breakdown gets me so hype. I’m ready to fight somebody after hearing The Breakdown.

One last unpopular opinion before I go. I do genuinely think that Kate and Eva would break up after maybe their Freshmen year of college.

Final Verdict: This musical is really great, and while I’m glad to see it get more recognition, I do think that there are a lot of problems that still need to be addressed in the fandom

Next, we have Waitress, which is a top tier musical.
