Honestly though I think it’s really a bad sign when I look at Shin Tsukimi and literally feel like he’s a self insert 😩
#the klock keeps ticking#yttd#i wanna replay yttd so bad but i also like Gotta play other stuff with the time i have akskks#but yeah the brainrot this specific character has given me idk if I ever really talked about it but it was BAD#i like obsessively played the game in like 3 days and it was not a good idea lol but just like shin#i had to take like a week to recover from this guy cuz i couldnt stop thinking about him and how hes just like me fr#first off just the very inconsistent personality hes got going on that is very me he has these different personalities he wears to cope with#all the traumatic shit happening hes both so helpless its comical and so manipulative its terrifying#and idk its really interesting how like good and bad he is at being manipulative like hes very smart and can analyze weaknesses and lie so#good not even he knows the truth but hes also grasping at straws he doesnt think things through at all#like the second main game he just didnt prepare at all hes fumbling his way through everything its going so bad#he just wants to go home he wants to outdo the game makers but hes being used by them so bad he wants it to STOP#and its just the way that like. it hits so hard cuz you know hes really not a bad person not at all he doesnt want any of this hes just#being horribly manipulated and doing whatever he can to survive but its also really scary how#well hes able to lie and manipulate and claw his way through but hes also weaker than a grade schooler#and you never forget that either and as much as he cheated his way through he still failed it was all just a cheap trick in the end#and all of this hits very hard like his personality is eerily similar to mine and just the way he thinks and acts#cuz im the same like im weak and a dweeb who likes funny cats but im also emotionally detached and observant and selfish#but where it hits the hardest is his relationship with midori like oooof that one was too real just like#the first person who was ever his friend was horribly abusive and treated him like a child and didnt respect any boundaries#and he just got sick pleasure out of seeing shin be upset and he was like. a groomer#and shin was fucking relieved when he died but also kept his scarf and adopted his personality to survive#and still goes by sou after ch2 and the scene that gets me the most is when shin ai is asked about his relationship with midori#and you can just SEE how horrified shin is because his deepest shame his abuse is being shared to everyone without his consent#and hes reliving it all in that moment and literally seeing who he used to be experiencing the abuse#he just curls into himself and like covers his ears and pulls his hair thats literally what i do AAAAAA#im just so grateful for the direction they took this character kokichi ouma wishes he was shin tsukimi so bad#and yeah just like damn. its scary how similar i am to shin like damn i really am going through it huh oof#I LOVE HIM I LOVE HIM I WILL DEFEND HIM WITH MY LIFE HE DID ALL OF THAT STUFF YOUR HONOR BUT LISTENNNN#have you considered that hes cute and smart and weird and maybe just needs friends who arent assholes

Ok here’s my long ass post about Earthspark Starscream.
None of this is even getting into the final episode of season one because I can’t right now. This show really did body horror and I love it so much.
I love him so so much. I love that the show doesn’t make an excuse for the way Megatron treated him and I like that he was nice. He does bad things and is selfish but also he’s not at the same time? Like horrible friend no doubt but when he was trying to escape he helped his seekers. He lead a jailbreak and he cares at least a bit about the other seekers.
He puts himself first always but also Skywarp was angry at him for not helping. Which would almost imply that at some point he used to help. He shoved her out of his way but he also pushes her out of the way do the energon monster. Was it intentional? Idk. But he did do it. And later in the episode he proves that he can be selfless. He responds well to people showing him kindness. He’s willing to work with the Maltos and follows there plans. He doesn’t even attack them at the end.
Also the fact that no one is like “yeah but you did shitty things so you deserved to be abused” is nice. ‘We’ll obviously no one would say it like that’ have you ever read a transformers YT video comment section? People like finding a way to justify the abuse others go through if they are attempting to fight back and this show says ‘no we aren’t gonna do that. Megaton was wrong to treat his subordinates the way he did.’ Starscream is a bad person, but honestly Megatron is too. His advice to bumblebee on teaching was to use fear because that’s what he did. Optimus tells him ‘don’t use unnecessary force with Starscream’ and guess what he does! I mean you could argue that he technically wasn’t using excessive force but the fact that OP felt the need to tell him not to do that shows something. Like I love this Megatron so much but he still was the leader of a glorified terrorist group. He had good intentions, but it still ended with him leading a group of terrorists.
And the bit where Megatron says he’ll take Starscream somewhere that’s safe and Starscream says ‘no where is safe with you’ is the most thing ever. I love that bit so much. Even if he’s wrong he’s still right because how could he ever feel safe near Megatron or if he knew where he was? The fact that he also automatically assumes the worst in others and is so surprised when Hashtag believed him is so sad to me. Like he’s awful and terrible but he’s also a person who has been hurt by someone who is, from his point of view, helping lock up himself and his subordinates. Starscream is a selfish traitor but Megatron has also betrayed him, his cause (typically, not that applicable to this Megatron), and his people. Also Starscream is telling Megaton to fuck off which I love.
He has the ability to emphasize with Hashtag and he doesn’t want the others to die but he’s spent so much time in an environment that fosters betrayal and constant lying that he can’t just go back for them even if he wanted to. I don’t think he cares either way, but Starscream’s backstabbing nature probably only got as bad as it did BECAUSE he was forced into situations where he could either throw someone else under the bus or be run over. He doesn’t respond as warmly to Skywarp or Novastrom when they showed up (compared to Hashtag) but he had a response. He’s almost apathetic to them but he relaxes slightly and has an almost positive reaction.
Hashtag telling Starscream that bad things happen and it isn’t always their fault was just— AHGHH! I love this episode so much. It’s looking you in the face and saying “hey. that thing you do, where you say this person deserved the abuse they got? Yeah that’s messed up and wrong.” Because people DONT deserve to be abused and no one ever does. ‘Starscream tried to kill Megatron multiple times’ then just imprison, exile, or kill him. And I know that it’s not that simple but if you try to simplify Starscream’s actions then I’m gonna simply Megatron’s possible responses. They both did bad things, we don’t see them doing the bad things in this episode so making an actual judgement is kind of hard but the episode is strongly implying that Megatron abused SS or otherwise unfairly hurt him. I mean SS kind of says it.
Starscream manages to be a really nuanced and complex character without taking away from the others around him. Like Hashtag telling Megatron to leave Starscream alone and Megatron almost shooting Starscream gives all of them more character. Megatron isn’t really WRONG for attacking SS IN THE CAVE. Because if I was Megatron I would assume he would attack the terrains. Hashtag is also a character I didn’t think I’d like as much as I do (her fake evil bit was fun). She cares so much about the people around her and is able to feel empathy for people she shouldn’t and that probably sucks a lot. It’s not a good feeling to feel bad for people and Hashtag is empathetic.
I hope he (SS) will show up more in season two as a neutral force almost like TFP. Because I don’t see him going after the terrains just because they sided with Megatron but he’s also not gonna just join the Maltos. Also Thundercracker pls pls pls. Even if he’s just like ‘fuck this noise’ and then leaves and never shows up again. Just put the Blue guy in.
Twitch trying to recruit more decepticons to Megatron is funny I love her so much.

I could go on for years and years about Knives in Trimax, but THIS makes me physically unwell. Knives was the one who was constantly worrying that humans weren't going to accept him or Vash, and he was the one who first raised the question of becoming friends with humans, not Vash. When he asks Conrad (the second human he's ever met) what he thinks of him and Vash, there is a genuine fear of being rejected and is so relieved by Conrad's answer he cries. Knives is the sensitive, emotional child who needs the support of Vash, Rem and other humans to feel like he has a place in the world.
Conrad says if they can love someone with their whole heart, they'll be able to work and live together, but then what happens immediately after?
Tumblr media
Knives and Vash discover Tesla. She is the only other Independent like them, and humans treated her like a science specimen and experimented on her body fell apart and she died horribly. Knives is 1 year old, and he's having to process THIS, knowing he can no longer trust any adult around him. Knives - again, remember he's the sensitive one - faints and Vash says he wishes he had also been able to cut himself off from the agony of the realisation too.
Tumblr media
I absolutely adore that bottom panel of Knives' hope that they can coexist being stripped away. The boy he was just is not compatible with the world he finds himself in and this is the foundation of his adult self we see throughout the rest of Trimax.
With Knives unconscious, the focus then shifts to Vash who has the chance to confront Rem. It's incredibly significant that Knives is not part of that conversation and never lets himself be emotionally vulnerable around Rem again to have a similar talk with her where he might have been able to process his feelings like Vash did.
Tumblr media
Vash actually tries to stab himself with a knife (and there's metaphors in that for someone else to unpack) and Rem prevents him, injuring herself in the process. Vash then turns against Rem and tries to kill her, severely wounding her and saying he won't shed a single tear for her before suddenly becoming overwhelmed by remorse and rushing to save her. Vash, who had been refusing food, then finally starts to eat as Rem tells him he's got a blank ticket to the future and not to throw his life away because there are good people out there. Only after Rem and Vash have come to this truce / understanding does Knives wake up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He has realised that Rem not only knew about Tesla, not only kept her a secret, but was also involved in her abuse. He goes from having a heart absolutely bursting with love and hope, to learning that even the person he loved was capable of unspeakable violence against his kind. His childhood, his dreams, his support is all taken from him, and when Vash seems to forgive and forget, he's also cut off from the one person who could fully understand him. He either genuinely forgets or (what I think is more likely) pretends to have no memory of the discovery. This is where Knives is separated from both Vash and humans, and this is the point where he starts on his path of no return.
KNIVES was the one who loved humans, who was deeply deeply upset at the thought of not being accepted by them. When he finds Tesla, he realises he and Vash can never be fully accepted or fully safe, and his actions are driven from this (justified) fear of what people will do to him if they find him. But he knows he is stronger and smarter than humans, he knows that he has the power and ability to protect himself, Vash and future Independents from suffering Tesla's fate. Knives was and is right about humans posing an existential threat to Plants, both dependent and independent, and his decision to crash the ships was not done out of malice but terror. Knives NEVER took the first shot. If Tesla hadn't been murdered, I really, really doubt he would have turned out the way he did.

Outlast antagonists headcanons
I'm only considering the ones from the first game, because for the other ones I haven't much to say. I consider Father Martin a morally grey character so he isn't here.
Tumblr media
Chris Walker
The little pig plush it's always been his confort toy since he was a child. When he came back from the war Chris used it to mourn himself to cope
If he wasn't killed in the underground laborator and managed to kill everyone there he eventually would stay in the asylum and kill anyone who came near the facility, becoming a sort of urban legend
He really wanted to kill Trager but he was too concentrated on Miles. He barelly know him but he's still very angry with every Murkoff employees to think straight
Chris surely knows everyone in the asylum, judging Father Martin's purpose as ridiculus.
Richard Trager
I actively decided to ignore canon so before the mutation he had grey hair tied in a ponytail and glasses
His dedication to self-learning medicine is at the point that he sewed a ton of cuts himself. Also he told peolpe that he was an actual doctor and convinced them to be analyzed by him
When was a regular employee Trager used to call "kiddo" any coworker younger than him
(I once saw a fanart of this on pinterest) I think Trager is the type of mindfucker that tells kids things like "Don't smoke kids, its dangerous” but then snorts cocaine
The Twins
Not much to say about those guys exept they were sigly abused by their negletful parents who leave scars on their bodies. Later the social services took them and entrusted them to another family, but the damage was already done
They always lived symbiosis, isolatimg themself from the rest of the world, Their adoptive parents tryed to help them, but slowly they gave up. Later the two brothers killed them
They decided to follow Father Martin for basically no reason. They think that being under his protection would have make them untouchable, somehow.
Eddie Gluskin
I am a horrible person and I hc his birthday as February 14th
While he was basically a serial killer, I like to think that he worked in a wedding dress shop. At some point of his life he dropped school and the owner of that shop thaught him how to sew and pack clothes. Eddie could have stabilized himself, but he was already too deranged
Eddie hates women that much because his mother always knew what his father and uncle done to him and when they get to prison she blames him for taking her husband away from her
I actually think he would be a decent father. Of course he's a borderline psychopath and would rise his child in a sick environment full of torture and murder, but I don't think he would ever hurt them (intentionally, at least)
Frank Manera
I do think he murdered his family and cooked them after years of instabiliy
When he went to the Mount Massive he was put in the hands of a pretty sadistic guard who basically starved him in order to "punish him in the proper way"
His hair turned gray due to the stress of captivity
Actually he managed to not being catch by the SWAT but later he died for some kind of diase because of eating raw human meat
Jeremy Blaire
This man screams daddy issues. Like, have y'all present the song "Are you satisfied?" by Marina? Yeah, that's Jer.
While he was friend with Trager he used to be very embarassed of him and his chaoticity. They went on golf club like any bored rich but Jer constantly avoied Trager at parties
Actually treats like shit EVERY employee that's not his superior, but he really targeted Waylon more than anyone. Like one time he challenged him to arm wrestling and kept him busy for an hour and a half to make him understand how a real man behaves
Example of a cisgender straight white male, bye

Why Bakugou is a HORRIBLY written character
[POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING]
As someone who likes My Hero Academia (aka MHA), I don’t understand why so many people like Bakugou as a character. Now, it’s okay to like characters who are evil or mean. But that’s only if they genuinely have a reason for why they turned out that way, or if at the very least they’re properly built into the role. Whereas Bakugou doesn’t fit either of those and it pisses me off.
Bakugou is the main reason why I quit watching MHA at some point and I've only recently returned. There’s many things about him I don’t like and I hate that girls thirst over this bastard and even worse, romantically ship him with his victim. Let's go down the reasons why Bakugou is personally one of the most horrible fictional characters I've ever seen.
His apology & relationship with Midoriya
Tumblr media
Listen, I have mixed feelings about it, but mostly negative feelings. I’m 1% glad he did it. But on the other hand, he REALLY should either have done it way sooner or he shouldn’t have just apologized to Midoriya at all. Especially considering that he bluffs his apology. It was one of those ‘I’m apologizing but not really’ kind of apologies. He literally says, “This doesn’t change anything. But I meant it.” What the heck is that supposed to mean? Why does Horikoshi CONSISTENTLY keep failing his characters that are victims of abuse by blaming them and not the ones who abused them in the first place? Why is there always such a need for the victims to either feel responsible for the things that happen to them, or to just deal with the abuse because justice is a fantasy? I get that realistically in some places of the world, justice can be hard to come by. But wouldn’t stories about justice give more people hope that it can actually happen anyway?
Even if Bakugou genuinely had a good apology, I would still tell him to shove it up his booty hole because he literally told Izuku to kill himself, then tried to kill Izuku HIMSELF. No amount of apologizing is ever going to erase literal attempted murder. The only reason why Izuku believes that he and Bakugou are now 'friends' is simply because it’s an abusive relationship they have. Either that or it’s a form of Stockholm syndrome. Nothing about their ‘friendship’ is healthy in any way. The so-called “friendship” between Bakugou and Midoriya is an insult to the word itself. It CONTINOUSLY glosses over the fact that Bakugou’s treatment towards Midoriya is not that of a friend, but an abuser. I swear, it’s like Bakugou has some disgusting hate fetish for Izuku or something.
What I hate even more is when people try to justify Bakugou being an utter villain to Izuku by saying, “Oh, Midoriya should’ve left him alone! He should’ve stayed away from Bakugou!” And whether or not that may be true, you’re still insinuating that Izuku DESERVED to be treated so horribly because of such a small factor. I’m sorry, but the punishment doesn’t fit the crime in this case. Which, oddly enough, brings me to my next point
2. He is never punished
Tumblr media
Bakugou is never ever given any sort of punishment or discipline from those around him. Not even the teachers. And whenever there is a punishment for him, it’s hardly one at all and the punisher blames someone else along with him. Bakugou is never truly held accountable for the things that he does to people. Not even his own friends correct him. At the very most, he gets a slap on the wrist from Tenya or Aizawa. Because of this, he never changes at all. He constantly stays the same and it’s honestly so irritating to see this craphead get away with everything he does, despite him literally having the potential to be a terrorist. For a story about heroes, the creator sure doesn’t do a good job at making sure people get their consequences for what they do. It'd be one thing if the story was, "Oh, the pro hero system is corrupt and people are fighting for change!" But we all know that's not what MHA is, now is it?
3. His ‘development’ and backstory
Tumblr media
I am absolutely positive that the main reason why Bakugou is such a horrible character is because he literally has no development or backstory whatsoever. There is no reason why Bakugou is the way he is. He’s just a narcissist. Not even his ‘apology’ can be depicted as development because Bakugou still acts no less crappy towards Deku. Actions speak louder than words and Bakugou is living proof of that. There is no point in making a character promise to do better if you as the storywriter don't put in the effort to make them do so.
And even if Bakugou was going to supposedly stay a crappy character without apologizing, he has NO reason at all to be the way he is. Even Dabi (aka Toya Todoroki) has a reason as to why he's such a crap-bag. And while Dabi is an absolute murderous butthead who should be incarcerated for life, it’s understandable that he became a villain because his father, Endeavour, abused him. Dabi became a villain because he wanted to kill his father and take down the other pro heroes. He believes that all pro heroes are fake because of how his father was to him. And while it no way justifies what he does to people in the slightest, it makes it easier to at least understand why he does what he does in the first place. That’s why Dabi works as a character with evil attributes, whereas Bakugou does not. Bakugou wouldn't even work as a villainous character should the shift be made.
Bakugou was not abused as a child like Shoto Todoroki. He did not grow up in poverty like Ochako Uraraka. His parents had always supported him wanting to become a hero by training in UA. Bakugou has no reason to be the asshole that he is besides some made-up inferiority complex that’s not even properly fleshed out. Bakugou doesn’t face any consequences of his own. He never learns anything new. He never even went through anything traumatic. Which makes him not only super vexing to watch, but it also makes him such a bland character. A blank slate who yells at people for no reason. There is nothing that makes him interesting or stand out besides the fact he gives his voice actors laryngitis. Why on Earth should I feel even an atom of sympathy for this fictional man who has never had to struggle in his life for anything? Bakugou is insufferable for no reason whatsoever.
4. His personality
Tumblr media
Another reason why Bakugou’s personality stinks is because he quite literally doesn’t have one besides being a brat. Sure he has friends, but even he’s an absolute jerk to them most of the time and is physically aggressive towards them. “Oh, but he beats the schnitzel out of Mineta!” Kicking Mineta’s crap in is a human reaction. That’s just a normal reaction to watching your classmate sexually harass people. That doesn’t determine that he’s a good person. Him hating Mineta is basic human decency. Nothing more, everything less. And anyone who says otherwise is only saying it because they’re a loser who desperately wants to justify their desire to hook up with a violent teenager. I don’t care if the guy looks like an e-boy version of Guy Fieri. He’s still a major psychopath who couldn’t give a dip about anyone else but himself.
Never in my life have I come across a character that is so horribly written, and yet so heavily cherished by the people who like the series. Especially when you know that the majority of them are teenage girls who don’t even know what a healthy relationship is. As someone who writes stories a whole lot, I absolutely hate it with a burning passion because Bakugou is a legitimate insult to the art of storymaking. I understand that no storyteller is perfect. Though there’s a major difference between making an honest mistake in your writing and actively CHOOSING to positively represent a character that brings nothing to the table, but also keeps destroying it. If Bakugou left the series completely, I have no doubt that not only the story would be more peaceful, but it would also be hard to notice at first. That’s how insignificant he is.
It is clear how much I hate Bakugou. And I hate to say this considering he’s still a teenager, but I really hope he dies. He is hardly a character at all and it would just be the best thing for everyone since Horikoshi is scared of properly developing his characters for some reason. I know some of y'all might hate me for this, but I do not care.
Baku needs to go.

I’m so proud of Shelby for speaking up about the horrible and inhuman things she had to go through just because a grown ass man didn’t understand that the world doesn’t revolve around him and that people won’t and shouldn’t accept nor like certain disgusting behaviors.
She deserves all the support in the world and he deserves all that he is receiving. It’s the consequence for his own actions.
Not only Shelby, but how many people has he treated this badly? He is a fucker and a dangerous person. Not to mention the manipulation he pulled on Shelby and on his FRIENDS as other content creators confirmed.
Think of the victim first, people. Think about how she felt. She was afraid. She had to experience unspeakable things. She didn’t say ANYTHING because she was AFRAID of HIM.
And he made that apology all about himself and said as if it was “funny”.
I’m so incredibly sorry Shelby had to go through that. She deserves the world.
I will keep editing this post as the words come to me, because I must say I was speechless. My support is definitely and entirely with Shelby.
I now say as someone who loved his content, I’m nauseated. Been a fan for at least 4/5 years and it’s hard now to accept it, but I will not support an abuser, and I advise other fans to do the same. I trusted that he would not do something like that ever, that he was a nice person. But I forgot that at the end of the day, he is just another man.
The saying “never meet your idols” never made so much fucking sense.
Fuck you, Wilbur Soot. You giant fucking asshole abuser.

I'm having big brain thoughts again AND YOU ALL ARE GONNA LISTEN;
I never thought I would get so far in life to see the day I WOULD GET HEADCANON SHAMED BY THE TICKTACK ASS APP.
And since mischaracterization and shitty takes are my passion AND my purpose, here are some thoughts about Simon. LET'S BEGIN
I was part of the "ghost has the emotional capacity of a rock" team. But upon thinking about it I've come to the conclusion that maybe that's not it. Simon has obviously gone through so much in life and while I still believe his trauma makes it hard for him to fit in and feel comfortable just by existing, I think he's the type of person who quietly enjoys to compensate himself for the things he has never been able to enjoy in life. LIKE NO ONE IS GONNA EVER SAY SORRY TO HIM OR REPAY HIM FOR ALL THE PAIN AND HORRIBLE STUFF HE HAS ENDURE, SO WHY NOT DOING IT HIMSELF?
No, he's not an abusive and dysfunctional man who's broken beyond repair STOP TURNING THIS POOR GUY INTO A FUCKING MONSTER, HE'S JUST A SILLY SAD MAN. Besides, he's fucking scared of the "the abused becomes the abuser" thing and works very hard to avoid it.
HE GOES TO THERAPY BITCHES, HE REALLY DOES. He deals with extreme guilt, with PTSD and a shitton of stuff that has made his life a living hell for so long and probably will keep making it difficult forever so in the end, although it's hard, he just caves in and gets help.
No, I don't think he has anger issues and he's not straight up rude. He feels uncomfortable with the idea of getting too angry, he prefers to just talk things out. AND TALKING ABOUT ANGER; I do believe he finds some sort of relief in his work but not because he likes to take out his emotions on others and kill mindlessly or stuff. I genuinely believe he likes the idea of being something good, of his actions having a positive impact. He feels like he has failed his family and friends but every time he manages to successfully complete a mission he feels like his existence is not just about the pain and the failures. When a mission goes bad he does have a hard time and gets physically ill.
BACK TO ENJOYING THINGS THO: during his childhood and throughout most of his life he has always denied himself so much for one reason or another. He's hellbent on trying to treat himself with things he has missed out. At first it was part of the therapy; watch movies you would've liked to watch, go and try food you have thought about trying etc... then as time went on, and he started to deal with the guilt better, he kept doing all that stuff just because he wanted to. And maybe because he wants to understand stuff and references better when he's hanging out with the 141.
That's another thing, he initially was reluctant at the idea of hanging out and stuff but then he manages to feel comfortable enough. He's very quiet but not downright antisocial.
He likes to read better and TV shows better than movies. I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH BUT HE'S A SHITTY COOK, HE COULD AND WILL BURN EVEN WATER.
There's the HC of him not eating enough and while I agree it's unrealistic I think there's some sort of truth. This man gets through depressive episodes where he can't sleep, can't eat and even breathing it's a chore. It usually happens when he's not at the base and he's having a difficult time with the leave time at home. He does however force himself to eat at least enough to not lose all the muscle and strength he has worked hard on. It's hard, but he tries to take care of himself as best as possible. THAT BEING SAID, THIS MAN EATS ONLY PREMADE THINGS CAUSE HE CAN'T COOK. Every single fucking meal, even the healthy one, has been bought and there's not a single time where he even attempts at cooking anything. After almost burning down his whole damn apartment he has banned himself from the kitchen. the way he maintains without necessarily eating when he doesn't feel like it's by keeping a whole fucking stock of snacks in his house.
OKAY THAT'S IT, THANKS FOR COMING TO MY TED TALK.

This is a really long-winded work up to a fic idea/vague character analysis BEAR WITH ME.
this'll be the last HTTYD meta post of the night. It's hard to pinpoint when Cowell fully created the later book's storyline (The seeds really start getting planted in 5, but of course 8 kicks things off, but was that the book when she first truly knew? who knows) but it's obvious the end game plot wasn't conceived by the start of the series. Cowell manages to transition from mostly episodic style adventure books to an overarching plot pretty well but there's some occasional wonkyness. The most fascinating weirdness to me is how the earlier books treat dragons and their societal standing.
I am doing a very out of order re-listen rn so I could be very wrong but while dragons are treated as 'creatures to own' from the start the slavery and mistreatment of dragons by humans starts to really become more textual rather than messy implications by like the 3rd and 4th books. But I don't think Cowell knew if she wanted to Unpack All That Right Now just yet when writing those books, so we get this weird ground where the mistreatment of dragons is there and explicit but none of the characters linger or reflect on it. Specifically in book 4 Oneye is all very "y'all are fucking pig slave drivers" and Hiccup doesn't object or anything but does not think about or engage with Oneye's rhetoric at all. This was a tad jarring coming off of listening to Hiccup giving a massive impassioned speech about how slavery is disgusting and needs to be eradicated in 10 to Hiccup meekly telling Snotlout not to whip dragons for fun in 4. Of course, Hiccup is a child and very rarely do elementary schooler age members of the oppressor class fully understand the abusive systems they profit off of (and obviously Hiccup not standing up to Snotlout is a whole other thing bc Snotlout is a horrible little shit. I'm not condemning Hiccup for not doing much here). Hiccup has all the groundwork of becoming the little leftist abolitionist revolutionary he ends up but he isn't there just yet.
This should have been ground for a bit of a character arc. And yet, it sort of wasn't?? Kinda?? It is but isnt. I think by 7 Cressida knew where the series was going enough to know that Hiccup needed to have a personal reconing with slavery & that's what the Northern Wanderers were for. Hiccup has a close brush with human slaves, gets marked as a slave and comes to see their humanity and dignity despite the rest of his friends and his culture not respecting them or their personhood. On paper, that's decent. Maybe not very good indigenous rep, but decent plot wise. However, it doesn't entirely work. Firstly because Hiccup should already know that captial S Slavery is Bad because of 5. That's a large part of 5. And yet I do not remember Hiccup ever really having much dialogue or internal introspection about slavery and the horrors of it & how it has effected Windwalker and those around him. The narration drills in it's awfulness but Hiccup sort of...doesn't super acknowledge it. Which is weird bc Hiccup is so pro dragon and such a good person you think he might be a bit angry or have some shit to say about Lavalout island or what happened to Humongous (I think there was some 'wow that's awfuls' but nothing much more then that. Or maybe I'm mis remembering grain of salt) 5 should have already done this, but again in 7 we don't get any introspection! The wanderers say a lot of things to Hiccup. They call him a devil, they say that all of history is against his kind, they think that he is inherently irredeemable and should be killed before he himself does harm. Hiccup doesn't think about any of this. And so the attempted arc kind of...falls flat for me. But cool Hiccup is in theory like yeah capital S slavery is bad. Then 8 is what REALLY starts off on Hiccup's abolitionism. Hiccup saves Furious, empathises with the chained monster against possible best judgement, and is disgusted by his torture. He wants to free all the prisoners, everyone locked away on Berserk. This is finally when Hiccup starts having a bit more of a reaction to slavery and imprisonment, and then he starts truly pushing against it out of his own accord and disgust and anger at it.
And yet. Not much inner monologue or reflection or dialogue about slavery outside of Hiccup's talk with Furious. It stays that way until book 9, where Hiccup faces the concept of being a king for the first time and then fights his father for the throne, knowing his father won't do the right thing. So, character arc! We get all the beats but I feel like we sort of don't get the development that goes along with the beats so it doesn't totally feeel like a character arc. Why the internal radio silence? Truly it's probably something about Cowell not wanting to make the books too depressing too early on by lingering on the messed up stuff too hard or something else but. I think there's a very in character and plausible explanation for Hiccup's arc around slavery. And it's all about his father.
The Hooligans are later named as one of the 'kinder tribes' who don't engage in slavery and don't agree with it morally but turn a blind eye to rampant slavery happening elsewhere. Slavery seems to really not be discussed much on Berk, but Hiccup and the other Hooligan boys his age probably grew up with some vague sense of pride in being 'the better ones', for having more honour and morals, something shared by the older tribe members. But this inaction is immoral and even though the Hooligans and other tribes aren't slave fairing, they do abuse and exploit dragons on a daily basis. Book 9 is about Hiccup finally acknowledging what has stopped him from thinking too hard or engaging with the enslavement and mistreatment of dragons. The Hooligans are still in the wrong, doing the wrong thing, upholding a bad system. Which means his father is. Stoick is the HTTYD equivalent of a neo-liberal. He dislikes the disdainful messy bits of capitalism, but he ultimately upholds the abusive and violent capitalist system while helping put down leftist organising. And seeing that in your beloved father, for someone as impassioned as Hiccup, is a fucking bitch. It's what makes their fight so heartbreaking. Hiccup couldn't let himself start down the path of unpacking the suffering of dragons and other humans until it was VITAL to do so because I think he knew things would lead back to the feet of his father, and also Hiccup's own. You don't grow up in an abusive system as a member of the oppressor class without being at least a bit complicit in violence and oppression, and I think that eats at hiccup.
ANYWAY fic idea what if I actually fleshed this all out through fic via like snapshots of Hiccup's various radicalisation moments which then focuses on the gap between 9 and 10 where Hiccup is in the woods for like a year with nothing but dragons, anti war domestic terrorism/sabotage and his thoughts for company while showing more anti war rebellion groups bc surely Hiccup and Cami were not the only ones. Cami's team getting a spotlight. ....thuggory pov??? I have vague fic soup rn and it's threatening to engulf me so I had to get this out somehow.

@miss-d-tiare Answering here because it wouldn't fit in a whole comment.
So, let's recap: I made a post expressing my opinion about Sylki, and you reblogged my post and commented on it saying I am a drama queen and that I should get myself a real problem, and when I answered you answered too once again this time not reblogging (mh, maybe because I told you it's just free notes for me and you are giving me visibility that way, mhh...)
Anyway, since I don't want to drag this conversation forever, I'll answer all of your points and quit this once and for all.
Dude, you have never experienced the pain and suffering of a one-sided crush? He likes her so much that, maybe for the first time ever, he's behaving like a normal person would do instead of just taking everything he wants like the spoiled and childish god hengrew up to be. This is a new level of rejection that actually impacts on him, and that's why he looks miserable.
Yes, I had one-sided crushes, more than one, and yes, they do make you miserable, but for different reasons. And the people I had a crush on didn't try to kill me or hurt me.
It's not the first time he falls in love, he said it himself in Episode 3 Season 1: he's had partners, but they didn't last that long. Furthermore, I would highly recommend you rewatch Thor (2011) and all the movies where Loki appears, because he has never been a selfish person, he says it himself (again) many times: when he tells Thor that he doesn't want the throne but wanted to be his equal when he tells Sylvie that he didn't want the throne but just wanted to see her safe and sound… So no, Sylvie is not the heroine who saved him and is changing him, he was like that already from time but was misunderstood by everyone else. And she is no exception because for the entirety of Season 1 (especially in Episode 6) and Season 2, she's still doubting and even said it openly that he still only wants the throne, and keeps refusing to fully understand him.
And let's not forget that IT IS A FICTIONAL SHOW!!! Some conflict MUST happen, or else people would complain it's too boring. The only character who could be so important to Loki besides of his brother is Sylvie, anyone can see that's only logical that the plot conflict involves both of them.
First of all: are you aware that movies and TV series are made to entertain people? Are you aware that social media just like Tumblr are made for people to express their opinions about things? So you saying "It's fictional!1!11" is just stupid because almost everyone here on Tumblr is here to talk about what they like on their blogs, you are doing it by responding to my posts. Since movies and TV series are fiction we shouldn't talk about them at all, by your logic. I am a psychology student, so I like to do psychological analyses of characters and give my opinion, you are completely free to agree or not, I don't care. But you can't come to my blog and tell me that I'm a drama queen and that I have to find real problems, that's just plainly disrespectful. And I already have my problems in my life, thank you very much.
This is not about conflict and entertainment: this is about Marvel making horrible decisions. You can create excellent conflict between characters without romanticizing abuse and domestic violence. And all of this wouldn't have happened if the directors of the series hadn't insisted on Sylki being a romance. If it was a friendship we'd probably be all quiet and just shrug it off with a "Sylvie is a horrible friend". But since this is romantic, well... some of y'all need to understand IT IS NOT OKAY for someone to be violent towards the other partner in a relationship. Romance + violence = ABUSE.
And if you don't understand where the abuse is, I suggest you read this post from @shadow-turtle-234 (forgive me for dragging you in </3).
People should definitely stop treating the relationship between FICTIONAL CHARACTERS as an example of real life human interactions, ffs! They're complex in their own way, and appealing and all but in the end they're not real so stop being drama queens and calling two fictional characters "toxic" 🤣🤣 get yourselves a real problem instead of making one up
Breaking news: fiction is based on real-life dynamics! Even more breaking news: fiction can influence real-life dynamics! Romanticizing abuse and domestic violence is awful, especially on the part of Marvel, a franchise that is also followed by very young people who could get the wrong message. It could also cause someone who has suffered or suffers from abusive situations to suffer even more seeing that someone suddenly decided that hurting the person you "love" is romantic.
My life isn't all about Tumblr, as I said I have my problems outside of social media, so if I express an opinion I don't think it's an issue. I'm just expressing my thoughts, did it suddenly become forbidden?
Do I like, need your permission or smt to alter and post a text I wrote? What did I miss?? 🤨🤨
Nah, that was just a fun remark I made, of course, you don't need my permission. I just found it funny how you both commented and reblogged, giving me free notes and visibility. Good for me I guess.
And the double standard is where, exactly?
Double standards exist because Marvel already has problems with writing female characters. Since they don't know how to make a decent strong female character anymore (aside from a few exceptions like Peggy Carter and Jane Foster), Marvel just thinks belittling the male counterpart's trauma and actions is enough to show how strong and smart the female counterpart is. And with Sylvie, they brought this to exaggeration, because not only she belittles Loki's trauma and treats him like shit, but keeps trying to hurt him and even attempted his murder several times. But since she's a woman Marvel thinks is okay, and a lot of people think that too.
But imagine if it was Loki to belittle her, insult her, attack her, and hurt her in any way. Y'all would be screaming and yelling at Marvel because "Oh em gee, they romanticized abuse, omg!1!!!" since he's a man. Domestic violence against men is rare, but it exists too, but apparently, it is considered "girlboss" and "cool" for a woman to hurt a man.
I keep maintaining it's all freaking fiction and that it doesn't work like resl life, you really should stop reading so much into it, it's not healthy pal 👍🏻
What I do with my blog and my life is none of your business.
In conclusion: I said what I had to, and I no longer intended to keep entertain this conversation with you.

i swear you and bthump are the best people to go to when to comes to berserk stuff
you guys just have such a great grasp on the story and really expose the ridiculousness of the western fanbase
The sad thing is, I can't even be proud of that because 90% of it is literally just reading the story (and interviews) without jumping through 15 hoops trying to explain to myself that everything characters (or Miura) said or did means the opposite of what they said or did.
Being in Western Berserk fandom is wild, it's like.....
Griffith: When I think about the dream and Guts, he is definitely more appealing. In fact he just made me forget my dream completely. Fans: He's saying that Guts is only a tool to him and he's only important because he's the best way to the dream.
Griffith: Do you think responding to royalty repeatedly trying to murder me by killing them first makes me a horrible person? Guts: LOL what, who even cares about murder, it's fine, you're fine, what a silly question honestly. Fans: Look at that fucking asshole Griffith what a sociopath. Poor Guts is such a kind-hearted gentleman.
Casca: WTF Griffith you let him do whatever he wants and don't even punish him when he does crazy things Fans: Griffith's so abusive to Guts.
Griffith: loses the most important person to him - eclipse doesn't trigger. falls into a deep depression - eclipse doesn't trigger. massively self-destructs - eclipse doesn't trigger. has a post-sex mental breakdown - eclipse doesn't trigger gets tortured for a year to the point where his body barely functions and his tongue is being used as a torturer's necklace - eclipse doesn't trigger. gets treated like a pile of baggage and a burden by the people he literally prostituted himself to support - eclipse doesn't trigger. overhears that the most important person to him is leaving AGAIN - freaks out, but eclipse doesn't trigger. hallucinates a nightmare of being a doll kept as a pseudo husband by the subordinate who always had a crush on him - eclipse doesn't trigger literally tries to kill himself - eclipse still doesn't trigger confronted by his completely hopeless feelings about a guy who keeps abandoning him - eclipse triggers, offered a sacrifice, just kinda sits there has his mind invaded by demon lords who use every doubt, insecurity, guilt pang and self-hating thought he ever had against him - still doesn't accept the sacrifice. reminded that if he stops he's wasted all the lives that he's been living to justify accidentally ending - bursts into tears, falls to his knees and repeatedly apologizes but still doesnt' accept the sacrifice has the specific words of the one person he loves most used against him by making it sound like that person would approve of him accepting the sacrifice - cracks but still hesitates told that the sacrifices will forgive him since that's what they're there for anyway - accepts the sacrifice Fans: He literally doesnt care, he would have said yes ANY TIME, like if the Godhand waltzed up to him when he was literally sitting on the throne, he would've been like, FUCK YEAH GIMME THE POWER, KILL EVERYONE! because only cares about himself and power.
The Actual Worldbuilding: Sacrifices only work if you love the sacrifice so much that losing them is like losing a piece of yourself. Fans: Obviously you don't need to care about people to sacrifice them because Griffith sacrificed the Hawks, who he didn't care about.
M E A N W H I L E
Guts: Ignores the eclipse as it butchers his friends in order to repeatedly try to save Griffith. Then jumps down and wanders around trying to save literally anyone. Fans (AND THE DARK HORSE SYNOPSES): Guts' primary concern during the Eclipse was saving Casca, he made a beeline for her like, tunnel vision whoa.
S O M E T I M E L A T E R
Guts' subconscious: Why don't you just abandon her? Better yet, rape and murder her so you can be more like Griffith and be closer to him and twirl yourself around him like a vine. Guts: [LITERALLY SEXUALLY ASSAULTS HER WHILE FANTASIZING ABOUT MURDERING HER SO HE CAN BE CLOSER TO GRIFFITH] Fans: Guts loves Casca more than anything in the world, shes all he cares about.
Guts: When I see him I'll ....... Puck: Man, when Guts thinks about this Hawk guy, he gets so mad, but also his feelings are super complicated. Guts: When I saw Griffith there, I totally lost my desire to kill him. Also Guts: What do you mean you don't feel anything, come on feel something [poke poke poke] Hey wait where are you going?! Guts: This sucks just as much as when I left the Hawks, except this time I'm the one getting dumped. :/ Also Guts: Anyway I should drop Casca on Elfhelm and then find Griffith and......................... Berserk Guidebook: Guts' feelings about Griffith include bitter hatred and an unending stream of other complicated feelings. Also Guts: Anyway so, when I see him I'll ....... Fans: Guts just hates Griffith so much and nothing else. It's just hate. He wants Griffith dead so much like its even more extreme than the normal wanting someone dead. SO much deathlust, and NOTHING ELSE.
Guts: /swings at Griffith and misses Casca: /gets kidnapped Guts: I couldn't hit him even a little, and my sword let me down, I have nothing to believe in or strive for anymore. Fans: Look at him he's so broken up about Casca.
I literally feel like I'm in fucking bizarro land when I read your average western berserk fan's commentary it is WILD.

LUNATIC Prologue
Tumblr media
Banner by @cafekitsune Divider by @unowakot
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nyx, a fucked up, savage little sweetheart with a penchant for mayhem and draining abusive individuals of all their blood has found herself on the Avengers radar after she makes quite the mess of one Brock Rumlow, the waste of space who made the mistake of assaulting her best friend at her place of work. Granted that place of work is a sex club. But hey sex workers are still people and deserve to be treated with respect not used and abused, okay.
Really, it's a hot button topic for her and she tends to have a hair-trigger on her temper. Plus she looks really good in crimson, just ask Wade. How that Merc with a mouth became one of her ‘besties’ is beyond her. He found her slashing a man to shreds in an old warehouse one night and has followed her around like a lovesick puppy ever since. It was love at first bloodbath for him.
She doesn't mind him much. She finds him quite funny actually. Plus who is she to judge, she works at a sex club for a living and quenches her blood-lust draining deplorable human beings. They oddly fit together, although try as he might Wade will never actually get in Nyx’ pants. She does allow him to feed his voyeuristic needs though, both of the flesh and blood. Sometimes even at the same time.
She has that same Merc with a mouth to blame for her snagging the attention of the Avengers. He was hanging around the tower one night, you know checking in on the band of misfits and found himself asleep in one of Clint’s little nests in the vents. They're surprisingly comfy.  Upon waking up he made his way to the exit and happened to somehow fall through the ceiling onto the conference room table while the team was having a meeting.
Tumblr media
“Oh hey guys! Don’t mind me. I was just on my way out.” He says as he dusts himself off.
“Wade what on earth are you doing up there or even here at all for that matter? Don't you have your own hideout or something?” Nat grilled him.
“Blame bird boy. His nests are comfy.” He shrugs.
“Damn right they are.” Clint proclaimed.
“Well we're gonna need ya to get the hell out of here. We have a mission to prep for.” Nat says.
“Oh really! Who ya goin’ after this time?” Wade turns around to glance at the hologram projection. “Hey, that amount of carnage looks familiar. She really did a number on him. Wonder what he did to deserve it.”
“She? Wade, do you know who is behind this?” Steve asks.
Knocked out of his daydreaming he answers the good Captain. “Well yeah. That’s my girl Nyx’ handy work. He must have been a truly horrible person for her to rip into him like that. That’s brutal. Even for her. Who’s the guy anyway?”
“Wait, you know this person in real life?” Bucky quanders.
“Mmmhmm. Hot little thing that gets off on blood and mayhem. She works at Sins. Kinda my bestie. I can introduce ya if you want. Even though I’m pretty sure she will maim me for it. She’s not really your biggest fan. Well if you exclude the Viking, Winter and Red of course.”
Nat and Thor smirk as Bucky just shakes his head.
“You’re telling me that a woman did this and that you are ‘besties’ with her?” Steve, still unsure that a woman could possibly do this, inquires.
“Righty O Captain Obvious. Do you want to meet her or not because I really should get going if that's not happening.” He climbs back onto the table.
“She works at Sins you say?” Tony pipes up with a grin on his face. “Yeah, even if they don't want to, I need to see this woman for myself. I know what caliber of women Sins employs. She’s got to be gorgeous. I’m curious about if or what she performs. Set it up Checkers.”
“Oooh this is gonna be fun! Meet me there tonight at 10. It’s Thursday so I believe electro play is on the table.” He looks at Thor who is smirking. “Figured you’d like that big guy. Well I’ve wasted enough time. I best be on my way.” And with that he exits the way he came in.

thinking of it, mike really really didnt have a healthy relationship with Micky, or really a healthy view on him either. as soon as he came to trust micky and was finally sure he wouldn't hurt him, he was essentially under mickys thumb, wrapped around his finger, even, because micky was the first person in his life not to mercilessly abuse him, and at the same time, was the first friend he'd ever had in his life, and because of that, he started to see micky as kinda,,,His person?? he would let Micky walk all over him (not that micky ever did intentionally! he just had a tendency to overstep mikes boundaries a lot on accident) he became very clingy to Micky for a while, almost possessive of him (not actively ofc) and while I dont think micky Truly caught onto it, not fully aware rhat mike seemed very incapable of having healthy relationships, he did notice how clingy mike was a lot, to the point of separation anxiety, but I think he took it in stride, not noticing just how unhealthy it was, and just thought "aw he likes me a lot :) we're so besties)
mike never acted oppressive towards micky, but I think he just had very overwhelming anxiety about where he stood in their friendship, and really just was completely under mickys thumb, holding a deep fear that he would lose the one person in his life who cared to treat him with any kindness and love, which is why when davy and peter came along, it upset the whole dynamic and definitely left mike in a horrible spiral which caused his mental health to reaally tank for a while. of course things get worked out with mike snd the two eventually, and I think mike starts to learn better boundaries and how to have healthier relationships with his friends and definitely becomes aware of just how unhealthy his and mickys dynamic was. mikes anxious possessive clinging and mickys feeding into it obliviously probably would not have lasted forever if they had stayed just the two of them living together, it's for the best that others became involved in his life

Andrias was never a good person
Aka how framing can completely skew a viewers understand of a story
If you like andrias, don’t read further
There’s a general consensus that Marcy is at fault for everything that happened, whilst Andrias isn’t at fault for his actions. So why is that? I’ve already talked ad nauseousum about how the show treats marcy, so i’ll instead talk about how the show treats andrias.
He’s presented as a tragic figure. One that was betrayed by his friends, and so shut himself off from the world. What’s more, he was effectively coerced into villain, and wouldn’t do his horrible deeds otherwise.
But in truth, thats not the case. He wasn’t forced into villainy. In fact, he seemed to throw himself head first into it. His issue was that he couldn’t let go of his past friendship’s, like his speech in true colors suggest; rather, he threw them away, blaming them for his own misdeeds. Even before his falling out with lief and barrel, he was still enthusiastic about conquering other worlds, and show signs of racism(even towards his best friend).
Moreover, I’d argue that the vast majority of his actions are entirely his own doing. The core never made him oppress the frogs and toads, and it never made him neglect the newts. That’s was all him. And of course, it’s established that he loves hurting people, to say nothing of how he treated Marcy. He only feels remorse when he hurts someone he’s close to. Everyone else though? Fuck um.
Then there’s his relationship with marcy. Ultimately, he doesn’t actually like Marcy for Marcy; he likes her because she reminds him of lief. It’s literally the first interaction they have. And given putting aside that, he still hurt her. At best he looks like a spineless coward, at worst he’s outright cruel to her.
By contrast, Marcy isn’t nearly as bad a person. Her decision to get her friends stuck in Amphibia was one made out of desperation, and her going along with Andrias’s plan was under the assumption that no one would get hurt. Tricking her friends is still a shitty thing to do, but she ultimately atones for it. Whereas Andrias only atones when he receives an apology
So, why is it that the fandom has such a backwards interpretation of these two characters? Why are we still going back and forth over weather or not Marcy saw amphibians as npcs, yet no one doubts that Andrias truly loved Marcy? Why are fans so willing to dump everything onto her, but overlook Andrias’s actions?
To put it bluntly, because the narrative said so.
Yes, what Marcy went through was traumatic…but the show seems to believe its his tragedy, not hers. No one feels any sadness for Marcy, except for him. While Andrias is still a villain, much of his villainy is the typical cartoon villain stick. His cruelest act(hurting marcy) actually gets downplayed(anne and Sasha never question why he wants her alive or think he’s hurting her, nobody being that worried for, her being comatose or possessed for most of season 3 means she can’t get angry or upset.)
the show goes to great pains not only to showcase his tragic backstory, but how he’s being controlled by the core.
Meanwhile, when ever season 3 does focus on marcy, its always about her own actions. Even morally good characters seem to think that her mistakes warranted what was do to her, or at least getting little sympathy. Andrias is the one who’s allowed to stand up to his abuser, while marcy learns that she is at fault for everything.
Because the show frames these characters this way, fans are willing to ignore common sense and bash the traumatized child while woobifying the colonizer.
So when someone says you’re “falling for the writers trap” by sympathizing with marcy, just know that they’ve already fallen for the actual trap.

Chapter 220 analysis
This chapter has... alot I don't like and a few small small things that I do like but it's still pretty bad. At first there is this really weird repeated panel.. like usually the repeated panels have like a small difference or are slightly zoomed in but these ones are just 100% full repeats and it sucks cause it's just lazy.
Like two of the panels even have the same speak bubble... the only difference is a few small changes in the sides. It's annoying and clearly lazy... like.. at least change how high he is holding the staff thing to show how each failed attempt weighs on him. It would be so easy... change his stance or fuck change the way his hair is. Any change at all!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for all the tartarus stuff I don't fully mind it as cause though I'm not sure how I feel about the kronos plot will continues. Though I don't mind the direction cause at least it's somewhat interesting and is going to be used to bring hera back into the story. Plus who knows since rs would loves to get teenagers dating old men maybe Hebe will get into a relationship now she's 18/very very heavy sarcasm.
Though I really do wish it would have been made clear how this happened, I mean during the kronos fight it was shown pretty clearly that tartarus is strong then kronos... though who knows maybe it was just all Persephone magic womb powers!
Tumblr media
Also another note the goofy faces in this chapter especially with hades and hecate really break any seriousness or tension that can be built with his chapter. Along with hades just... extremely pointy shoes.. like why are they so pointy this chapter.. they are god damn clown shoes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now onto something that I do like about this chapter! is that Persephone is still effected by apollo, do I think it's moved on from a bit to quickly but I do like it shown. Her being shaken from seeing him and getting effected despite her own experiences I like. It's realistic and again a good point in the chapter. Though small note did persephone ever get her drivers license.. should she really be driving?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now comes the worst god damn part of this chapter which makes me want to rip my hair out. Cause you know persephone the supposedly kind heart person decided it would be best to threaten a worker that she knew TEN years ago that she had a slightly bad experience with.
Tumblr media
Though you know what lets look at the so terrible things he did to persephone! since they are clearly so bad that persephone feels the need to threaten a worker. Well their first interaction he's is already completely terrified of her which makes complete sense considering the info he knows. He knows that he is most likely closely connected to hades a king that has been shown to not exactly be the nicest to people underneath to him. Plus how him and his brothers are known for sleeping around so again an understandable assumption.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now their 'friendship' starts with persephone offering to help him with some home work.. right after he got insulted by the teacher. Which this is when I'm first going to bring up persephone massive privilege. She's a goddess from a rich family that is extremely smart and respected, tori in like a second episode with him is fucking insulted. There is a huge difference between their lives and how they are treated.
Tumblr media
Then alex roommate gets fucking kidnapped, tortured and his god damn eye is ripped out!! it's fucking clear that tori is clearly horribly effected by this, and it's all fucking legal as well! hades is just fucking allowed to permanently disable someone and the biggest consequence he faces is that persephone gets a bit sad.
Not to mention while alex was being fucking tortured hades and hecate where talking about persephone.. and it makes complete sense why he would think that persephone was the one to make hades do this. Plus it's completely fucking okay if tori didn't want to be friends with someone who is clearly close with a king that repeatedly abuses his power to almost fucking kill his roommate! Like imagine whats going through his mind he could very much be thinking that if he upsets persephone the same thing could happen to him!
Tumblr media
The next time persephone sees him she chases after him when he tried to run away, and then grabbed him which like.. I don't care how persephone is blind to these sort of things it's clear that he trying to get away from her and is clearly terrified so yeah his reaction is 100% understandable. He's scared for his life and the life of his friend, and is setting an understandable clear boundaries. He made a large assumption for his safety and that's okay.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now again, persephone is in a position of power and when tori mentions both that and how in universe her name kinda just makes the situation worse. Again it's the equivalent of you knowing someone is like probably in a relationship with the prime minister and the prime minister is also legally allowed to fucking torture people and has proved that he is more then willing to do so on the behalf for that person. Yeah I wouldn't exactly be the sweetest while talking about that person.
Not to mention that persephone response to this is how it must not be true, and it is there must be some sort of misunderstanding. Like tell me persephone what the fuck is the misunderstanding here, that the person who got fucking kidnapped doesn't know what one of four kings look like??
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The last thing we see of tori is this panel (I think), Where we just have tori and one of his friend whispering behind persephone. Like yeah how terrible of them... we aren't even shown what their talking about. Now I'm going to talk about the last line that persephone said to tori. Where tori was talking about her behind her back "during one of the hardest time of her life" Which is a terrible point because tori didn't know any of that shit! He barely knew perse before he starting avoiding persephone, they studied once together and supposedly that's enough for his actions to be deemed as truely terrible.
Tumblr media
Now the main problem with this confrontation is how both tori is probably one of the people who've done like the least shity things to her. Along with the fact that.. he's at his job, it's not like he ever misstreated her when he was working but because persephone decided to basically threaten and scare him at his work he can't do anything. Again persephone is extremely privileged, shes a powerful queen that could seriously fuck him up if she wanted to... he's in a position were he can't stand up for himself.
It's a weird power fancy that would have been better written to be directed at any other character. Persephone doesn't seem like she's some strong girl boss, it just comes off as cruel and kicking someone beneath her that never did anything to cruel for him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plus persephone doing stuff like pulling her stats as queen of the underworld to again threaten a worker. Which as hecate said when alex eye was ripped out, mean that she could FUCKING TORTURE HIM and it would be perfectly legal. It's a fuck up abuse of power that persephone is using... especially taking into account how tori could very much be traumatized from seeing his roommate attacked in such a way.
In the end persephone actions are cruel and don't fit into the whole "perse is so kindhearted". This is an abuse of power.. and if persephone is supposed to be some great leader that cares for the everyone.. then why is she acting like this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now moving onto the last problem/thing I like about this chapter is. I like that persephone has payed for her own home.. but I'm really annoyed for the reason she got to be able to do that. While yes on the surface she did pay for it herself.. it's still because of hades. She got a bank account because of hades, she got payed for an internship because of hades... and she didn't really earn most of the money she has.
Like at most she worked for 4 weeks.. how high was she paying and how high was the interest that she clearly has a large sum of money given tori's surprised and just immediately get an apartment. Like in an evening... she barely earned this.. she just waited and the just got this money. She still doesn't have a job... and if she is payed for being the queen of the underworld that money is still coming from hades... it sucks.

The difference between James, Sirius, Remus and Severus
A little anecdote about bullying and childhood trauma.
James Potter: An entitled little rich kid you bullied those who couldn‘t defend themselves because „They exist“.
Who sexually assaulted someone in front of the whole school body.
Who continued bullying people well into adulthood.
Just because he could.
Sirius Black: A child that grew up in a household full of horrible abusive adults who held onto a fascist doctrine.
Who chose the right path despite his upbringing.
Who was outcast by said family.
And stood by the people who had become his only family- his safe heaven.
Who was a „traumatized“ teenager who sought for a way to relief the pressure on his shoulders.
But who tried to and almost succeeded at killing someone, just because he didn‘t like him.
Who got away with it eventhough he could have killed a person, eventhough his best friend had almost unknowingly become a murderer.
Who never apologized for trying to kill that person in the most horrible way.
And who continued to bully said person even in adulthood.
Remus Lupin: A child that was condemned to a painful life and a life as an outcast of society.
Who people didn‘t see as a human being but as a monster.
Who found friends - who genuinly cared about him- for the first time. His own family.
Who couldn‘t afford losing the only friends he ever had and the best friends he could have hoped for.
Who didn‘t interfere with the bullying because it would have meant losing everything he had.
The only people who ever cared about him.
Remus, who grew up and realized that those actions had been wrong.
Who tried to make amends for them.
Who did not bully anyone and who defended others.
Severus Snape: A child coming from an abusive household where his father hit him and his mother neglected him. Who was as poor as he was treated.
Who became friends with someone who would stay his only friend for the rest of his life.
Whose only hope of a better life - at Hogwarts- was taken away from him because an entitled little rich kid decided to make his life as miserable as possible.
Who called his friend a slur after being sexually assaulted and humiliated.
Who tried to apologize to said ‚friend‘ who he saw holding back a laugh while he was being sexually assaulted.
Who almost got murdered by his bullies and who was silenced and had to watch his would- be- murderers walk free without being punished.
Who turned to the only people he had left at all.
To the wrong sort of people.
Who never had a chance to grow up because of the trauma he had to live through as a child and as a direct result as an adult became bitter and nasty and bullied those weaker than him.
But who dedicated the rest of his life to atone for the mistakes he made.
While three of them have a „reason“- not an excuse- for their actions, only one of them has not.
Three of the above are redeemable,
while one is not.
Remus, Sirius and Severus are.
James ist not.
Fight me.

Hi, a different post than my stories or updates. This is serious, and deserves your attention if you are a patron to his patreon. a long time silence while I was working on some stuff in the shadows a bit.
The abuse of influence by VulpineVoice - Google Docs
For those that didn't know and are in the Genshin community, and enjoy ASMR content from a VA by the name of VulpineVoice. He's a piece of shit honestly. Now. I use to moderate for him. "Use" to. I quit after he preyed on some friends of mine and tried to drag their names through the dirt. He painted this picture that "they" were the ones inappropriate first, whether they were minors, or consenting adults. He sent unsolicited pictures to quite a few people involved. He put several people in odd positions to be in. Turning alot of conversations into sexually charged ones, around myself a known ace/aro. Like he knew I was and hit on me, he hit on others more aggressively. He used his position alot for monetery gain, he led witchhunts on those who opposed him, he hurt alot of my friends, he hurt me with manipulating me and others to behave a certain way or basically lose connections with support groups (I was dependent on the circles he had for growing as a streamer) and would end up ostracized or removed from said groups, or just losing my friends I valued.
It became a game of "who is your limit person." I had three. And when I saw them leaving, I knew it was time up. But this is more about the people directly afflicted.
He doesn't cull his community for under 18 people while creating nsfw content. me and other mods have found minors as young as 15 / and sometimes 13 in his space that went under our radar.
There should always be a firm line between creator and fanbases. (I have mine between my readers and my personal life. love y'all platonically)
But this is the kind of predatory behavior I've exposed on several people in the past. This will probably not be the last time I ever make a post like this to highlight someone who is horrible.
As consumers to something do be aware of the communities you are in, and watch the people you interact with. There should always be a HARD NO between a dating/parasocial. It's nice when you're given attention for something, it's nice when that creator has given you that said attention. Yet it should never progress pass "oh hey this is neat, thank you for making this!" To "how old are you, pictures exchanged, sexually charged comments." These are conversations no content creator should be having with a community of any kind, unless there is a mutual approach.
Anyone using their platforms to date, should be watched. Don't approach creators with rose colored glasses no matter what they do for you. If there is ever that inkling that "something isn't right" listen to that instinct and trust it. Your intuition is alot stronger than you give credit for. If something doesn't add up, DIG for truth. Chances are there is someone or something that is out there.
People who have made enemies, have people that WILL talk about them negatively. Pay attention to people who have had bad encounters. There is always two sides to everything.
I've kept my silence for a while because I was led to think he was in the right, and he gaslit his mods all the time. Even when one of them called him out on his bullshit.
He brushed our concerns off all the time as long as he got money for it. He'll hide himself in private modes and think it is good when the fires have died down. He made several content creators mad, he has been acting this way for years sadly.
Protect yourselves, and I am 100% a trusted source since I was a moderator for him. I know the deets, I know more than I should. Also honestly loves, y'all are getting scammed by him with how half-assed he treats the genshin community. He does maybe a 7 - 10 minute audio for some giving him close to 75 dollars? Azeru gives you alot more personally (and has been a bigger source of my inspiration to write.) He always treated the patreon as a chore instead of really enjoying it. and also used it to prey on his fanbase.
Anyway... stay safe, I want to use this platform to show this off. I'll answer any questions sent to me in regards to this. I'd never make a post like this if it wasn't serious enough to share and disrupt the happier stuff on here.
I'm not filtering this because honestly I want this seen.
