I'm not a fan of DC comics. But I like their characters. On that note, here's some of the few characters they had in the 60s that I like:
Metamorpho: I haven't read Metamorpho's stories, but Bob Haney and Ramona Fradon definitely struck gold with him. He feels like everything good about the 60s. Silly, goofy, and fun. He reminds me of the thing, and now I just want a Thing-Metamorpho team up. Also, did you know metamorpho was tied to egyptian mythology? Apparently he is. Now I want a metamorpho-kane chronicles crossover.
The Doom Patrol: I loved the original concept and the original four members. Sadly, I care nothing for Mento or Beast Boy. That's just a fact. Still, really creative concept. Gotta respect it.
The Metal Men: Never read their stuff, but I think I'd like it. It's also informative (at least in theory). Their stories should feature goofy silver age stuff and chemistry lessons, imo.
The Phantom Stranger and Dr. Thirteen: I love these two. Love them both so much. The Mystical Phantom and a men who debunks supernatural hoaxes. A match made in heaven for stories. Because they're both good people. The supernatural may be real, but fraudsters exist too. You gotta deal with both.
Deadman: Never read Deadman's stuff, but I like the initial concept. A ghost trying to find his killer? That's genius.
Sugar and Spike: This is something I would one day to read. It's a humour comic about babies. Why would I not want to try reading that? It sounds like peanuts or something. Adorable.
But these are some of the only things DC had that I might like. And it's all their minor, niche stuff. No Flash, No Batman, No Green Lantern, No Justice League, etc. Only these niche things.

Marinette was waving bye to her friends before heading home. Alya was following her peppering her with questions about what she thought of Noah and what exactly he said to her. She almost pulled Marinette down holding onto her arm begging for details.
"Oh why do you do this to me? Lycée is wasted on you. I should be single and ready to mingle with all these cute new boys," Alya let out an exasperated groan.
Marinette lifted her hand and waved. "Hey Nino."
Alya turned around frantically looking for her boyfriend. When she didn't see him she turned back and slapped Marinette's arm when she saw she was laughing at her.
"You devil brat! I almost had a heart attack."
"Serves you right. Mooning over the new boys when you already have one who adores you."
"Doesn't seem like I would have a chance anyway. None of them look my way when you are standing near."
"That's not true. You're exaggerating."
"Noah just about knocked Max over in the hall the first time he saw you. You didn't notice because You were watching Adrien."
"That never happened."
"No, it did. I thought him and Kim were going to get into a fight but Kim saw where he was looking and laughed it off."
"Also that is definitely one boy, not every boy."
"He is not the only one. Pretty sure Luka is still pining after you. At least 3 other boys that went to different collèges and then of course Adrien."
"Another blatant fabrication. Adrien only sees me as a friend. You can't even say stuff like that. I need to move past that."
"You have been really distracted lately. You've missed a lot. He always smiled more brightly when you were around but now he watches you a lot."
"Stop Alya. He wouldn't want to date me."
"If you say so. But I think sleeping with his arms around you made him reconsider."
"It wasn't like that. Besides I have had a lot on my mind. I don't know that running off to find love right now is the best idea. It's all so confusing."
Their discussion of Marinette's dating life was interrupted when Damian walked up to them and addressed Marinette.
"You need to come with me."
"She isn't going anywhere with you. You've been an entitled jerk to her at every opportunity." Alya said with a glare.
"What do you need?" Marinette said.
"We can do it here but it might be easier if we were seated."
He gestured to some benches nearby and the girls sat. He tapped at his phone briefly and they saw the excited face of Tim who Damian barely acknowledged before turning back to Marinette.
"I am told that you may be visiting our home soon," he stated.
"That has been discussed and I am interested in the idea," Marinette said.
"I also heard you have always wanted a pet but that is complicated by your residence being attached to the patisserie," he continued.
"This is also true."
He addressed his phone, "Can you show her what you found?"
The 3 looked at the phone where they could see Tim turn it around they saw a ceiling and then a floor that looked like a store before it focused on a shopping cart as Tim talked about each thing he focused on.
"Okay this looks like it is the best enclosure it connects to a series of tunnels and a little cubby as a sleeping area. This wheel for exercise the water bottle, dish, food, and bedding material. All that is left is to choose one."
He focused his phone on the enclosures at what she had determined was a pet store. Marinette could see the variety of hamsters available.
"You are getting a hamster?" Marinette asked.
"You are getting a hamster," Damian clarified. "You just have to pick one."
Marinette was stunned with this gesture from Damian but she didn't have time to consider as Tim went through showing them each hamster that was available. Marinette oohed and ahhed at all of them but then she gasped at the smallest one she had seen.
"Oh it's so little and cute!"
Tim reached in and picked it up and it was even smaller than it had looked because there was another matching one huddled together with it. They both squirmed and struggled to get back to each other.
"Oh not that one," Marinette said. "They are together. They need each other."
"Get them both, Drake." Damian said.
"I'm already on it," he replied.
"No, that is too much. You don't need to do that." Marinette said.
"Nope. They need each other and I'm already doing it." Tim said.
"That is settled. I will have him send a picture when it is set up. When I am home I will give you updates as well as pictures and videos regularly."
Marinette's mouth was slightly ajar at his sudden change in attitude. He didn't wait for her to figure out her feelings, he pushed a card into her hands.
"This is my personal contact information. Use whichever you feel the most confident with and I will send the information that way. Good day."
When he finished speaking he walked off without waiting for a response. Marinette and Alya just stared as he walked away.
"Did that really just happen?" asked Marinette.
Alya just nodded before she too said her goodbyes and went home.
---
It was a little over 2 months from when they originally met the Justice League. Ladybug and Chat Noir had discussed it several times and then again with the Justice League members they had been working with. Today was when they decided to meet at a more private place for their reveal. Batman and Wonder Woman were not really involved. They were just there before to set up the meeting with the team but Hawkmoth wasn't considered to be at their level.
The decision of the miraculous users was that they would reveal to the 4 members they had gotten to know but that no one beyond that would know. They were already uncomfortable with the idea of a reveal and they wanted to control the information themselves. Well, Chat Noir was excited about the reveal. Ladybug was terrified what the reaction of her partner would be. She didn't worry about the Justice League group. She thought it was unlikely that they had ever met but Chat had met her as Marinette to rescue her, when he was disappointed with Ladybug not showing up, and then when she claimed to be in love with him.
The building was a gym under construction so no one would see them. When Ladybug entered she saw that Superboy and Robin were already there and talking. She gave a little wave as she approached them. She had grown to like the pair of them very well over the weeks they had worked together. Superboy was very friendly and Robin was very focused.
She looked over at the other side of the building at a new sound to see Wonder Girl walking up with Chat Noir. Based on their conversation they had just met outside while they were walking up. Greetings were exchanged and Marinette started to ask if anything knew about Kid Flash but as she started she saw his blur zip around the space several times before he joined them half a second later. He handed a flower to Ladybug with a flourish causing Chat Noir to glare at him.
Even though the Justice League members had acted as heroes longer Ladybug still took charge. It was her city and they had the experience with the problems there. They didn't like it at first but her no nonsense focus on the mission without being too uptight when they were patrolling together had made her accepted by all.
She took a deep breath. She was the only one very nervous. The others already knew the identities of their teammates. They had spent the last few weeks explaining situations where it had been useful. She thought they were probably skipping over times when it had not been a good idea. She had been talking with Superboy one night and he had almost let a story slip but he stopped himself.
She looked over at Chat. Maybe he was nervous too. But she could still see excitement in his eyes. She just hoped she would be enough. Their relationship wasn't like the others. He knew her civilian identity and they had worked together for 2 years. Ladybug took a breath and cleared her throat. Conversation stopped and she had their full attention when she spoke.
"Before we do this I want to remind everyone how important it is that the information not go beyond those in this room. It is the choice of each person to decide who knows their identity. If anyone disagrees with that they should say so now."
No one spoke but there were nods of agreement.
"Okay, then on three?"
She paused before slowly counting to 3. She closed her eyes as she detransformed and took a breath before she looked up. She looked first to see the fading green light on Chat Noir to meet the green eyes of Adrien Agreste. She was sure his shock was mirrored in her own. They both opened their mouths to speak but turned at another voice.
"Marinette?"
She turned to see Damian in Robin's uniform. Kid Flash and Superboy she had met at the fashion show but she couldn't remember their names. She had been too nervous to retain anything. She didn't think she had ever met Wonder Girl as a civilian. Surprisingly she was the only one. No one spoke for a moment. Adrien had that look on his face that Chat Noir would get sometimes when he looked at Ladybug. Marinette didn't think she could deal with this. Until one of the others opened his mouth and proved it.
"Isn't that your sister?" Jon said.
"Bruce is going to flip out," Wally added.
"You can't tell him!" Marinette screeched. "You can't tell anyone, especially not him."
"Marinette, what does he mean? I've met your parents. You don't have a brother." Adrien said.
"I-uh. It's complicated." Marinette said. "Actually I can't deal with this. It's just--"
She trailed off as she took several steps back before calling for her transformation and running out. She didn't see the fallout from her escape. They all argued over whether they should go after her and who should go. Cassie called for them to be quiet. She said she would be the one to go after Ladybug. Since she didn't know her it would be easier to calm her.
Wonder Girl flew off after Ladybug. She wasn't hiding but when she saw Wonder Girl headed towards her on the Eiffel Tower she stood up as if preparing to leave.
"Wait," Wonder Girl called out.
Ladybug paused as she landed and turned back towards her.
"Are they all upset with me?" she asked.
"I think it's mostly worried. You have a lot of secrets."
"I don't even like secrets. It feels like lying. I hate lies. A temporary secret like a surprise is one thing but sometimes I feel like my whole life is a lie."
Ladybug sat back down with her legs dangling as she had been before, Wonder Girl sat next to her. They sat there for awhile, saying nothing. Eventually Ladybug started speaking. She started back at the beginning when she first met Tikki and how she didn't even think she would be a good hero and tried to give the powers away. Once she started she couldn't stop. All her years of secrets and fears poured out. Wonder Girl sat there stunned realizing that not only had she not had anyone to talk to who knew but she also was at risk of becoming akumatized and endangering the entire city or even the world. She considered the spotted hero before she gave her first response that wasn't an encouragement to continue talking.
"You need to tell your parents."

Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021) Review
Tumblr media
It all started with Sonic’s teeth. Ever since fans successfully bullied a studio into reanimating their titular hedgehog character after the abomination shown in the first trailer, fans realised that rallying together (on Twitter) can make a difference. So you’d think it would mean we could all come together to restore world peace and get rid of racism, injustice, poverty, war and negativity of all kind? Nope, nope it does not. But at least we get a better version of a bad DC movie that came out in 2017. I mean, baby steps I guess.
Plot: Fuelled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes -- Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash -- it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
I recall my younger simpler self in 2017 at the early age of 20 soon to be 21, sitting down and watching the new Justice League film with zero to no expectations, as by that point the DC Extended Universe was a trainwreck and was a franchise that was literally falling apart before out unblinking red hay fever filled eyes. However, after watching Justice League I was baffled at the fact that I still managed to be disappointed after having zero expectations! With zero expectations this film took me into the minuses, and we all know I’m not great at mathematics so boy are we in the danger zone when we hit the minuses! Looking back at my review of the film back then, I used extreme yet fitting comments like “generic”, “predictable” “messy” and plain “dogsh*t”. Which is what it was. 2017′s Justice League is exactly how I’d imagine a dog’s poop would look if it was turned into an abstract film! It was truly abysmal. After that I thought I’d never have to talk about this film again. How wrong I was. But, in a rare turn of tables, I am glad that I was wrong...
A little history lesson first. Alright, settle down kids, settle down.... Rob, put the paper plane down, do not throw it, I said DON’T THROW IT! NO! Stop! Stupid child!! Headteacher’s office right now! Also, say hi to your mother for me, okay? I’m having brunch with her on Saturday and you better not be there as you should be doing your homework watching the 4 hour cut of Justice League and questioning your life choices!! Anyway, now let’s have ourselves a history lesson. The topic is - What In The Flying Fudge Happened Behind-The-Scenes Of Justice League For DUMMIES: Condensed Edition. A really condensed version as honestly none of us have the attention span to read loads and I’m probably losing the vast majority of you due to this overlong rambling session. So anyway, to the last couple of readers left, here we go! Following the success of Man of Steel, Warner Bros. gave Zack Snyder the reigns to oversee and create a DC cinematic universe to rival the success of Marvel. And so came Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which turned out to be a bit of a hodgepodge, receiving mixed to negative reviews and though was a box office success, earned diminishing results to what Warner Bros. originally anticipated. However, by the time Batman V Superman released, Zack Snyder was already hard at work on the big superhero team up film Justice League (which was meant to set up many characters and future films for the DCEU) with a lot of filming already underway, so Warner Bros. couldn’t particularly pump the breaks on it by that point, even though they evidently lost trust in the Snyder formula. To be honest, at that point I too lost trust in Snyder’s vision and the DCEU as a whole, but my opinion doesn’t class for a single dime, whilst the opinions of Warner Bros. executives make millions, so there aren’t any hard feelings on my behalf for them not enquiring on my thoughts. Anyway, midway through production Zack Snyder was hit with a family tragedy with his daughter committing suicide, so Snyder naturally had to depart the project to be with his family during this grieving time. Warner Bros. had the option to pause production and await for Snyder’s return, or progress at their own accord. Naturally they decided to do their own thing cause they are a business and want that dollar dollar bill baby!! So they hired Joss Whedon who was riding fresh off the success of two Avengers movies and obviously had experience in cinematic universes and such, to rework the Justice League movie by condensing it into a 2 hour film (from the over 4 hour material that Snyder shot) and reshoot scenes to fit the smaller runtime. So you cannot particularly blame Whedon for taking out so many great scenes as he had a contract to fulfil with Warner Bros, but then you look at the many forced jokes and unnecessary reshot scenes and you realise how self-indulgent Joss Whedon was during filming, as he basically was spitting on everything Snyder did and was trying to do his own thing. Low and behold, the mess that is the 2017 movie is created, where its the visions and creative minds of two director with evidently different styles clashing and not really mixing well at all, and as such we have a messy movie that doesn’t really make sense and is a bit of a middle finger to DC fans and honestly everyone and all. Also, there was that little aspect of Henry Cavill’s deformed upper lip due to the fact that during reshoots he had a moustache that he’d grown and was contractually obligated to have for his Mission Impossible role, so the visual effects team had to digitally remove it in post production and the result is, well, see for yourself...
Tumblr media
Yes, they made the dashing handsome my-sexuality-questioning Henry Cavill look stupid, and that is UNFORGIVABLE. Funny, yes, very funny but unforgivable!! So for this and many other reasons the 2017 film turned out horribly. Then after that many months later, Zack Snyder and cast and crew members began teasing of this mythical version of the movie that was befit of Snyder’s original vision. You see, apparently before he left the project, Snyder actually filmed everything he wanted and it was only awaiting to be reworked with visual effects and edited properly, but then Whedon came in with his scissors and cut everything mercilessly with a cheeky grin and his ginger beard. Speaking of his ginger beard, is Joss Whedon Irish? Or has Irish roots? Honestly, I would Google it, but wait, I don’t think I really care. So anyway, Snyder still had all of his filmed scenes saved on his ridiculously oversized hard drive just waiting to be looked at again. This is where the fandom did its magic by creating a Twitter hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut and began spam posting for Warner Bros. to let Zack Snyder release what he originally intended to. Honestly, who would have thunk it, but this actually worked!! Warner Bros. allowed this, and not only that, but gave Snyder an additional $70 million to finish up the visual effects as well as to film a couple of additional sequences and gave it the prestigious honour to debut it on HBO Max, so as to boost the subscriber rating on Warner Bros. new streaming service. And here we are.
Honestly, I thought seeing this Director’s Cut of sorts wouldn’t bring much to the table as I didn’t believe that a film that was so broken had originally been in any way good. After finishing this 4 hour Snyder vision I must admit though that I was pleasantly surprised. Completely baffled by the studio and Joss Whedon, but really happy for Zack Snyder. The guy was fighting for it and finally was able to accomplish and bring out his true original vision, and though Zack Snyder’s Justice League has its flaws, its so much better than what we got in 2017, and in fact is a soaring science fiction sci-fi epic that literally feels epic!! It takes time establishing the characters and every single plot point as well as building out this rich mythology of this world of the DC Extended Universe, and so as you move into the second half of the film, there’s a feeling of pay off. You actually care about the characters and understand the plot points and it doesn’t feel rushed. Its truly astounding that there are producers out there who thought it was a good idea to get rid of all of that and instead bring out whatever the heck Joss Whedon did with the 2017 version. Look, I quite enjoy Joss Whedon’s work, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel to Cabin in the Woods and his work on Marvel, the guy obviously has a talent, but also he obviously does not belong to the dark and brooding style of DC. Zack Snyder on the other hand, though makes his mistakes, truly embraces the epic feel of the DC material. And it seems once you give Snyder enough time and space, he can actually bring out something like this:
Tumblr media
The main characters are all given so much more to do, or at least those that got side-lined in the 2017 version are given more to do here. One of my complaints with the original was how pointless the League turns out to be. Basically in the theatrical version the main team all end up being useless and only once Superman shows up he saves everyone’s asses and literally does EVERYTHING. Might as well have called the film Man of Steel 2 (feat. Justice League). However in this new version, every main character serves a purpose. Well most of them do at least. Cyborg and Flash are much more compelling characters with more layers and backstory, and in fact are a prime reason to defeating the great evil in the end. You now understand why Cyborg actor Ray Fisher was pissed at Joss Whedon, as the guy literally got rid of his best stuff. Superman strikes a cool black suit and is still powerful, however as the finale shows, he isn’t all-powerful and does need the help of the rest of the team. Wonder Woman gets a lot more to do in this theatrical cut, and in fact this is probably Gal Gadot’s best performance as Wonder Woman and she really shows herself as a powerful female superhero! Aquaman’s role stays largely unchanged, however to be honest Jason Momoa’s character was one of the only ones who didn’t suffer in the theatrical cut. That’s unsurprising seeing as Jason Momoa is such a naturally cool dude! A big panda that is friendly in real life, but when necessary can turn into a roaring bear. To be honest, the only League member that ends up a bit pointless is actually Batman. He still serves a purpose in the film in that he’s the one who assembles the team, but otherwise the rest of the group is so overpowered compared to him that in the end you do kind of think that he doesn’t really belong there. Still, Ben Affleck is great in the role and it’s a shame we won’t see much of him past Flashpoint film that will be released in the next few years.
There are a lot of characters in this film and one can still say the movie is overstuffed, but also seeing as the movie was originally intended to spring board the DCEU properly, all these teases are actually welcome. There are an abundance of cameos, and to be honest so many characters are so well cast that you do end up wishing that Snyder was given the opportunity to make his entire Justice League planned trilogy, but nevertheless at least we have this. There are truly an abundance of cool appearances here, from the menacing villain Darkseid (played by Ray Porter) to Willem Dafoe doing what Dafoe does best, only in this case underwater and I’m certain that’s gonna span many comparison memes with The Lighthouse. Joe Morton as Cyborg’s dad is given a lot more to do here and in fact is pivotal towards building up Cyborg into the important character that he is. There’s also a cameo from Jared Leto’s Joker, who in some ways redeems himself after his appearance in Suicide Squad. Also, we need to talk about Steppenwolf, who’s the main baddie in this film. In the theatrical cut the guy was the most generic one-note villain who also looked like a PS2 character. It was honestly embarrassing the way he was animated. Luckily in this version he’s been put through enough Skyrim mods to looks much more intimidating and is also given a better motivation. As we find out, the reason he does what he does is because he wants to go home. He’s been banished and he simply wants to earn his place back home, so it’s actually kind of sweet. Steppenwolf is a sweetie. I mean, yeah, he wants to destroy half of the world to fulfil his dream, but hey, haven’t we all taken something extreme measures to get what we want?
The film is far from perfect though. At the end of the day, the movie is just about a guy hunting down a bunch of magical boxes. That was the premise of the theatrical cut and its the same here too. Yes, there is more substance and gravitas to the proceedings, but at the end of the day the story doesn’t really surprise much. And with the entire thing running at 4 hours, it is definitely too long and there is the element where there is simply too much in this thing. Also visually, though the movie has plenty of gorgeous shots and Zack Snyder’s signature slow motion sequences are on full display here, there are still many sequences where the CGI and green screen are super obvious and look really fake. That being said there’s still so much visual goodness in this, and also I have to mention Junkie XL’s new music score that does reiterate the epic feel of this movie, in comparison to Danny Elfman’s weak uninspiring notes in the theatrical cut.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is a massive surprise and completely changes the perception of what we saw in the original 2017 theatrical cut. It’s a sprawling massive adventure that’s a dream come true for any comic book fan. It shows how vital film editing is, and how important it is to have a cohesive plan when making a movie. Gone too are the silly forced jokes, and though there is still some humour here, it feels more grounded and fit of the setting and scenario. This is Snyder’s vision through and through, and though at times it is clunky, it overall is incredible to behold, as it’s this one guy’s mind and his love for the DC lore. It’s a credible achievement, and I’m actually sentimentally happy for Snyder that he finally managed to complete this. He even during the credits dedicates this to his daughter Autumn that passed away, and I found that to be truly bittersweet. Justice has indeed been served.
Overall score: 7/10

Zack Snyder’s Justice League Review
So I finally saw Justice League the Snyder cut version on HBO Max and it’s fantastic. I actually did my review on the Justice League movie back in 2017 on YouTube and gave it a 4 out of 5 nuclear bombs. However, while I still find the 2017 Justice League entertaining, it wasn’t really that memorable and I do learn the sad truth the film been having troubled production due to Zack Snyder have lost one of his daughters died from suicide which caused Joss Whedon to take over and the film ended up being a critical and box office disappointment. Anyway, the story of this film took place after the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. After Superman had sacrificed himself to save the world from Doomsday, Batman and Wonder Woman decided save the world on their own as well as setting out to find other superheroes so that way they can set up a team. The superheroes that Batman and Wonder Woman are searching for are The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg. So when an evil threat named Steppenwolf who serves Darkseid has come to take over the world along with his demon armies, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg must team up together to fight Steppenwolf and save the world once and for all. I find the story of this film to be sorta similar but much different and better. Although there are a few parts in this film that did dragged on. Unlike the 2017 version, this one much darker and more violence. Plus they do say a lot of bad words this version. The special effects in this film are much better than the 2017 version. The good news is that there is no CGI mouth on Superman’s face in this film. I can obviously tell that Cyborg, Steppenwolf, Steppenwolf’s armies, and Darkseid are all in motion capture. The designs of Steppenwolf in this film is better looking than the 2017 version. I actually do enjoy the designs of the cities, the batmobile, the bat airship, the weapons and costume designs of Batman’s suit, Wonder Woman’s suit, Flash’s suit, Aquaman’s suit, and Superman’s suit. The action scenes are definitely the best part of the film. I had a blast seeing Flash running very fast with lightning, Wonder Woman fighting and stopping those British criminals from robbing a bank, the amazon warriors fighting Steppenwolf, the battle between the Justice League against Steppenwolf and his demon armies, and in this version had lots of blood and killing. Ben Affleck as always did a splendid job playing Batman. Batman of course is a dark superhero of Gotham City and in this film is the lead member and founders of the Justice League that lead his team to do what they have to do. I really like the part where he used his weapons and gadgets to fight his enemies. Gal Gadot still did a magnificent job playing Wonder Woman who is an immortal princess Amazonian warrior that is the co-founder and a member of the Justice League. Like in her own film, she has the ability to fight her enemies with her sword, shield, whip, and fist. Then there are other members of the Justice League like the Flash played by Ezra Miller, Aquaman played by Jason Momoa, and Cyborg played by Ray Fisher all did an awesome job. The Flash who is a superhero that can move at superhuman speeds due to his ability to tap into Speed Force and plus I also think he’s funny. Aquaman I think definitely steals the show in this film who a superhero that lives in Atlantis and is good at swimming, breathe underwater, communicate with the underwater animals, and fight someone with his trident. Cyborg is half man half robot who used to be a college athlete student that got into a car accident which turns him into a human robot hero that has the ability to fly, turn his arms into cannons, and manipulate technology. Plus we get to see more of his backstory in this film. Returning from Man of Steel and Batman v Superman is Lois Lane played by Amy Adams, Martha Kent played by Diane Lane, and Alfred played by Jeremy Irons. Lois Lane the girlfriend of Superman is now an undaunted and compassionate award winning journalist in the Daily Planet in this film. Martha Kent the adopted mother of Superman didn’t really do a lot in this film. Alfred the butler of Batman who is now one of the Justice League’s close allies that always wanted to help out. Superman played by Henry Cavill is still awesome and in this film he wears a black suit. Wonder Woman’s mother Queen Hippolyta played by Connie Nielson have some of the more screen time in this film than the 2017 version. Also appearing in this film is Mera played by Amber Heard, Silas Stone played by Joe Morton, Commissioner Gordon played by J. K. Simmons and Vulko played by Willem Dafoe are also allies with the Justice League as well. Now for the villains Steppenwolf played by Ciaran Hinds and Darkseid played by Ray Porter. Steppenwolf in this film is much better than Steppenwolf in the 2017 version who of course is the evil villain who only wanted power and take over the world and in this version serves Darkseid. Darkseid is one of Superman’s enemies that is a tyrannical New God from Apokolips and Steppenwolf’s nephew and master. By the way there is another superhero in this film which I will not tell you who it is. Zack Snyder I think did a great job directing this movie especially he made it more graphic and intense. He actually did a better job than Joss Whedon. I mean Joss Whedon did a wonderful job directing the first two Avengers movie, not so much for Justice League. The music composed by Junkie XL sounds very exciting, hardcore, and it feels like a superhero movie. It is way better than Danny Elfman version. All the music from the 2017 Justice League movie are not played in this version but I’m fine with that. So overall, this is an excellent DC superhero movie. I do agree with a lot of people that this is cannon to the DC Extended Universe. This is the version that we should have had in the first place. I love this DC movie more than the 2017 Justice League movie, Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad, and Birds of Prey and in my opinion is one of the best DC movie in this Extended Universe along with Man of Steel, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Shazam. I am hoping that the DC Extended Universe can still get better. I also hope that we can get a Green Lantern reboot. If you’re a fan of DC, this is a must see. So I give this movie 4.5 out of 5 nuclear bombs.

TIMARI SOULMATE AU THING
-Anything you write or draw on your skin appears on the other’s
--This applies to injuries and cuts
-Tim is older by a few months
-They find out about the connection after Mari’s 7th birthday when they both get sizable bruises on each leg but can only remember causing one
--Que parents explaining what it means and frantic research
--Constant conversations follow
--Both become fluent in the other’s language with in 2 years (and even then people find out after 2 years because sometimes they slip when talking)
--Many inside jokes and weird words they made up trying to understand the other language that only they know the meaning of
-They send notes of worry to the other after bad injuries and notes of encouragement
-Wonder Women basically adopts Mari when she finds out there is an active Ladybug
--Mom used to be a Ladybug so she knows all about the Muraculi
-Mari does still have friends despite Lila’s best efforts
--Lila isn’t a main antagonist though still isn't a good person (I want to focus on more fluffy things so that's why; she is no way a good person or redeemed character)
--Her class support system: Cholé, Alix, Adrien, Kim, Luka, Kagami and Max
--Juleka comes around after hanging out with everyone and talking with Luka
--Nino, Nathaniel and Marc also support Mari but aren’t as open because fear and Nino is on the fence about his Girlfriend
--Jagged, Penny, Clara, Audrey all have a respect and care for Mari
-Tim and Mari have battles of witt on their arms to try to figure out who is smarter
--(Spoiler: they are both insanely smart) it is basically a tie
-Most of the good in person fluff will take place after Hawk Moth is defeated and Mari is the official Guardian
--My girl needs some happiness and good luck man
-Mari and Tim accidentally find out each others identity after they leave themselves notes on their arm and putting the pieces together; however this is often forgotten between stress and more important things
--Because of this though when the Justice League gets a message from Paris, he knows it is real and believes it
--When they find out they don’t tell the other because they understand and respect how important secret identities (this is part of the reason it doesn’t really cross their minds)
--Mari figures out who Robin is; she forgets that Red Robin is a thing so doesn’t look into finding him out
--Figuring out Robin was an accident so she doesnt looking to the rest of the BatFam
--Tim forgets about all the stuff about Ladybug on his arms because living in Gotham has enough to deal with so he tries not to focus on too much at once/has bigger problems
--“I JUST MEET RED ROBIN/LADYBUG” moment in Paris, after a patrol where they run into each other when the League is investigating the plea for help
--The Wayne’s and Diana are there on “official” business but really it is just a cover so they can investigate
--Diana hears about this from both sides as she befriended Mari earlier and finds this a lovely development
---She also figures out that they are soulmates but doesn’t tell them, it’s better if they figure it out themselves
---Does often have a knowing smile when talking to the 2 of them about it though
-It took years before the team decides that they need to contact the League
--This is a few years in maybe 4 going on 5
--Wonder Woman is the one going through the messages and immediately wants to help
--Tim walks in about ½ way through the message and stops what he is doing, immediately knowing this is real thanks to his soulmate
-BATBOIS
--Jason basically gets adopted by the Dupain-Cheng’s after coming to their bakey every morning while in Paris
---Loves Mari and would do anything to protect her
---Loves the fact she can easily flip him like its nothing
--Damiain respects her abilities and accepts the fact she is basically his older sister now
---Both end up becoming very protective of the other in their own ways
---Wants to teach her how to use his blades so badly and to meet all his pets
--Dick loves her from basically the beginning
---Loves her happy and optimistic attitude despite her situation (he can see himself in her a little bit)
---Instant friends and she smuggles sweets to him
--They meet when Dick follows Jason to the bakery one morning
---When Dick introduces Mari to Kori she is taken into a bone crushing hug that everyone is worried about the small girl but she instantly returns and is perfectly fine
----Kori already loves her
--All the boys meet her in Paris at the bakery but Tim and Bruce (Alfred did not come)
--Tim was never awake so they brought him back coffee and Bruce while he did go, she wasn’t there at the time
-There many “dumb” battles of witt have lead to many late night talks
--Anytime the bois need help with a really bad puzzle by the riddler Tim asks his soulmate under the guise of a normal “battle”
---There is rarely context but always a fun time
-Both have gotten a lot of big scars that sorry the other but they have comfort in the fact they know the other is still ok and alive
--Small messages and self care tips/messages usually litter their arm after a particular bad injury/scar
--This always makes them feel better and brings a small smile to their lips on both parties once they get the message they are okay
--Lots of check in messages too after big fights and encouragement
-Team Miraculous
--Ladybug is the leader and tends to be point base for public relations (Mari)
--Chat Noir is the second in command, and is the go to if Ladybug isn’t available
---Adrien has matured a lot and is a respectable force to be reckoned with
---Both of them help train the others and often spare together to blow off steam
--Ryuuko is  Kagami, she became a permanent holder at the same time Luka did
--Viperion is Luka and it is after the four become a semntited team that Mari decides they should know each other’s identities
--Queen Bee joins a little but after, she’s a reformed Cholé
---While hesitate at first Mari gets them all to be accepting
---Probably changes name and outfit though, but is a permanent holder
--King Monkey and Pegas are semi permanent holders (Kim and Max respectfully)
---Only not permanent because they want to avoid suspension but are full members of the team
---Also work as civilians, helps with the cover
--Alix also is a part of the team but only as a civilian
---They have considered giving her the Fox
----She helps answer questions and acts as a ground base for the hero’s as she is the main “civilian” the government goes to if they need the team
--They are a really tight team and trust each other fully
--The turtle and fox get used but sparingly
---Ivan might be turtle sometimes
---Nino later might be a good choice too, I’m not fully sure yet
----Fox has been used by Alix and maybe Juleka too but unsure about Juleka right now
--All holders have slight effects from their miraculous
---Mari and Adrein have the most as they’ve had theirs the longest
---Mari has good luck and is able to embed some of that luck into what she makes
----She also doesn’t do well in the cold
----Things tend to grow more around her, especially flowers, almost like they are growing toward her
---Adrien has bad luck (thanks to Mari’s gifts this isn't really bad though) and if not careful can break anything
----Likes to take naps in the sun and is very protective
----Cats like to gravitate to him
---Kagami has lots of extra body heat
---Luka can sometimes predict what is going to happen, can predict a lot of normal everyday things
---Cholé can easily knock people out now, she knows all the right places to hit to incapacitate someone
---Max (weaker cause hasn’t had as long) knows the fastest way to get places and shortcuts basically anywhere
---Kim (weaker cause hasn’t had as long) is able to freerun and parkour with little training
----Can also sense when some chaos is about to happen, however it isn’t to sting yet but does get stronger the longer he has his miraculous
---Alix (has the weakest, but still strong) has the ability to tear apart half truths and lies, she gets this from the fox but also works on it herself after vowing to not let Lila fool anyone she cares about again
-After Hawk Moth is defeated Adrien moves in with the group
--Mostly stays with Mari and Kagami
---Considering moving with Mari when she leaves Pairs
-Mari becomes the Guardian before Hawk Moth is defeated
--It is about when she makes a real team, Fu gives her the knowledge and training she needs
--He’s been doing it indirecting since the beginning (well a few months in) but after she takes initiative with making the team he is more direct
--He waited to make sure she as ready and she is
-Mari plans to move to Gotham to properly meet her soulmate after school
--This is to move the Miraculous and to further her career
--This is one of the biggest motivators to contact the League to get help defeating Hawk Moth
--The team is more than onboard with going with her and follow where she goes
---They are basically family, and family supports family
--This move would also help them with Uni and furthering their potential careers, so it is a win-win for everyone
--They do want to stay a Superhero team after Hawk Moth but more low-key, the move would also give them a chance to be more open about wanting to do this
---They don’t want to step on toes but want to help if they can
-Soulmates in this au (romantic at least)
--Tim and Mari (duh)
--Adrien and Kon (Conner/Superboy)
--Cholé and Kagami (maybe Luka, unsure but I’m a sucker for poly, I could always make it a Young Justice member, any ideas welcome)
--Kim/Max/Alix (we love poly and these are a good trio)
-Kon-el/Conner and Adrien
--For the longest time Adrien didn’t think he’d ever be loved/have a soulmate
---Conner wasn’t around yet so that’s why his connection wasn’t there
--Adrien cried the first time he got a mark he cried
---It made him know there was someone else
---Mari stayed with him the whole night holding him and telling him, she knew he would have someone
--Conner rarely responds, the boy doesn’t know French so it’s kinda hard
---Tim notices the language and offers him help, he is also the one to explain what soulmates are to Conner
--Conner feels bad for his “other half”
---Partly due to the whole secret identity thing
----He isn’t great with people
----His other half seems to get hurt a lot and doesn’t want to be another cause of that pain
--Despite never getting much from his soulmate Adrien always leaves messages of encouragement and validation
--He understands how much that can mean to someone
---He starts to leave some in Englsih too, just in case his soulmate only knows Englsih
----Mari’s idea but he was more than on board for
---He often apologies of injuries he gets
----Conner doesn’t usually notice the injury but the note afterward
-----part of his alien blood is why he doesn't usually feel
------When he does notice he does worry a lot because if he feels it what must have happened to this other person (is under the impression it is a normal civilian)
--Adrien is so happy to know he is loved by someone else, because as Conner may not show it, he has a feeling his other half cares
---Mari is so happy that her best friend has gotten what he needed to know he was loved she cries with him too
----It happens a year or so after being heros so they are close but don’t quite know each others identities yet, but that happens not long after
--Conner is convinced to go and help when the Justice League goes to Paris
---He goes and stays with Tim most of the time
---Tim is the one who convinced him to go and acts as a translator, as Conner has a grasp of the language he isn't too confident
---He does meet Chat Noir but only briefly; both are more focused on the bigger picture
----Both act like lost puppies with Mari and Tim respectfully; and when they get together this doesn't change too much
----They are a really fluffy couple, Adrein needs physical affection and Conner accepts
-How they meet (Tim and MAri) [finally I know]
--They meet as heros before they meet as civilians
--They meet as heros on a patrol before the final battle with Hawk Moth
---This is where the “HOLY SHIT I JUST MEET RED ROBIN/LADYBUG” moment happens, after they get back from patrol they indemnity write the other
----Mari talks to Diana about all this over breakfast the next day
-----they both know the others identity because Diana told Mari so she would trust her because she knew Mari because of her connection with the Miraculous, instant connection
----Wonder Woman figures out they are soulmates through this (Tim had a mini crisis with her that night)
--She “may or may not” leave hint to Bruce to set something up for them
--The 2 are to focused on the final battle to worry about the potential revelations
---While fighting they have instant synergy and chemistry that goes unnoticed by them at the time but everyone else notices and takes note
--Bruce decides to “spontaneously” sponsor a trip for a class to go to Gotham, as a senior/graduation reward for a class that has done a lot for their community
---It is also a way to give a break to the poor kids who have been dealing with this for far to long
---The “contest” is announced about a week or so after the final battle
---Wonder Woman tells Mari about it
---Mari then proceeds to write far more than one would have expected, she really wants her class to have something good finally, and even excluding all the hero end stuff they do it is close to being a novel
----She would have won even if wasn’t a set up
---Wonder Woman tells Bruce which class to choose and doesn’t question it as he trusts her judgment, he also doesn’t question why she is so insistent but completely agrees with her choice
----Diana is the one to tell Mari who instaly is giving her a bone crushing hug which Diana returns in fold
---The whole squad is hyped
----Luka and Kagami pulled some strio “happen” to be going to Gotham themselves
----This is also seen as a great opportunity for them to scout places for them to consider moving after school is done
--They meet at Wayne Enterprise building
---Dick is leading the tour
----Diana may or may not have given him some hints that Tim’s soulmate is in the group
--Lila’s empire is destroyed that week, she tried to lie about the Waynes to the Waynes
---Tries to say she is dating Damiain who is way younger than her and knows nothing
---Conner is staying with Tim because his soulmate said something about Gotham and figured spending time with Tim isn’t bad either
--Identity get revealed on purpose during the trip (probably near the end)
--When Mari sees the boys she is confused but happy to see her new friends again so soon
--Diana is a good support for Mari and a “wing woman” of sorts
--Jason is so happy to she his new “sister” when he crashes the tour to mess with Dick
--Tim is passed out in his office when they pass
---Mari writes a note to her soulmate about how funny it is, this makes Conner look up as he is watching Tim and sees the note appear in his arm
---Mari doesn’t notice but Dick and Jason do
---This leads to the 3 trying to get them to talk
---Adrien catches on and instantly wants to help his bestie meet her boy
----Adrien then tells his soulmate about it later because he wants to and Conner sits straight up and has a huge revelation
-----The boys along with Diana and Mari’s squad set them up and they have a good time and it is really cute

Music Review: 2020
My blog has been a lot of things over the years, but it did originate as something I used to publicly review music; especially in the Visual Kei scene. Since I began the blog so many years ago, I had actually been hired to review Visual Kei and J-Rock music for an actual website: VKH-Press.com, work I am very, very proud of to this day. However, with not much news to comment on or work to critique, I haven’t been as active. Plus, personal issues always seem to stand in my way. However, I always take the time to discuss my passions at the end of the year. There were so many incredible releases, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and so I wanted to take the time time to discuss my favorite releases and, maybe, the not-so-favorites as well. Quick shout out to Bastille’s Goosebumps EP and Megan Thee Stallion’s Good News LP as I did not get to listen to them before I wrote up my lists, but were still excellent releases. See my thoughts below!
Overall, there were about 75 albums or groupings of albums I listened to this year and split them between various tiers. Starting with the bad tier, there were actually only ten albums listed here and mostly just because they were seemingly unnecessary collection albums. For example, another Satsuki collection? Rides in ReVellion releasing two greatest hits LPs after only five years of work? Beyonce releasing The Lion King: The Gift again? None of those felt like necessary releases. There weren’t many albums that really screamed bad to me this year, but I really could not stand Vanessa Carlton’s “Love is an Art” or Justin Bieber’s “Changes.” The only other albums on this tier were just underwhelming compared to what I know the artist is capable of, but the “best bad tier album,” in my view, was The 1975′s “Notes on a Conditional Form.”
The mid-tier albums had all sorts of reasons for being only mid-tier. They weren’t quite bad or outright unnecessary, but are mostly by artists who put out work that was nowhere near the caliber of their usual work or were re-releases or other collection albums. For example, Tove Lo’s “Sunshine Kitty: Pawprint Edition” or Man With A Mission’s remixes/b-sides/covers albums. Nice to have with good quality music, but I wish we’d just have had brand new EPs or LPs.
The good-tier albums were all really excellent releases, but didn’t hit home the way anything on the “God-Tier” list did. Here, I’d like to share a quick top ten:
10. Taeyeon’s “Purpose: Repackage” & Japanese EP, “#GirlsSpkOut” 9. Charli XCX’s “How I’m Feeling Now” 8. Miyavi’s “Holy Nights” & “Holy Nights: 2020 Lockdown” 7. TK’s “Sainou” 6. PVRIS’s “Use Me” 5. Buck-Tick’s “Abracadabra” 4. Katy Perry’s “Smile” 3. Alicia Keys’ “Alicia” 2. Dua Lipa’s “Future Nostalgia” & “Club Future Nostalgia” 1. Ava Max’s “Heaven & Hell
Without furhter ado, though, the God Tier Top 25:
25. Acme’s We Are Visual Kei: Essentially a collection album of several songs that were b-sides that never made a full-blown album. This LP was loaded with some of Acme’s best work and shows that they are going to be here for a long time, despite Div not quite working out. Recommended tracks: Mononoke Requiem, Gekiyama Celluloid, Houkago no Shiiku
24. Alanis Morisette’s Such Pretty Forks in the Road: Admittedly, a huge fan in the 90′s and loved her cover of Seal’s Crazy. However, before this album I didn’t really listen to much of her body of work and I can see why today’s youth might not listen to this album. It is very “adult” insofar as it deals with her struggles in marriage, parenting, religion, etc. Her vocal performance is exceptional and her song writing remains some of the best in the business. Recommended tracks: Smiling, Nemesis, Reasons I Drink.
23. Niall Horan’s Heartbreak Weather: Not my usual cup of tea, but for some reason Niall’s music makes me feel softer than normal. He’s very cute and charming and his words are always so romantic. It feels more genuine than the music made by other members of One Direction and kind-of reminds me of earlier Taylor Swift writing, but from a male perspective. Recommended Tracks: Put A Little Love On Me, Arms of a Stranger, Still.
22. K/DA’s All Out: I don’t even really understand what this is, but I love it. There’s something to do with League of Legends? Cartoons? International pop stars? Whatever it is, I’m totally obsessed. These songs just completely slap. Recommended Tracks: The Baddest, More, Drum Go Dum.
21. Darrell’s Brilliant Death: This might even “officially” be a single, but there’s enough content to market it as an album. Darrell is a band formed from the ashes of Deathgaze and Ai’s solo project. Who knows why Ai didn’t just continue after his solo album, Confusion, but he decided to go back to the band-format with confusingly-named Darrell. This album is then, incidentally, mostly Deathgaze covers. It brings the production into the new era and gives you a lot of nostalgic love for old hits. Recommended Tracks: Brilliant Death, Evoke the World, Abyss.
20. Alice Nine’s Fuyajou Eden & Kuro to Wonderland: Neither album was particularly long, in fact these were glorified EPs that could’ve been merged to one two-sided LP, but in either case... Both albums had something really special to offer and felt like a true comeback after years of name changes and finally going back to their original, kanji-styled name. Recommended Tracks: Kakumei Kaika -Revolutionary Blooming-, Testament, Replica, Glow.
19. Mucc’s Aku: This album felt very long in the making after a series of weird singles that didn’t feel like they were going anywhere. Ultimately, a lot of those singles did not make the album including my favorite one: Taboo. The resulting album, though, did feel very cohesive and thematic and even featured one of this year’s heavy hitters: Hazuki. Recommended Tracks: Aku -Justice-, Memai, Ameria.
18. Miley Cyrus’s Plastic Hearts: This person is absolutely one of my favorite people in music. I’m pretty sure they have comeout as genderfluid/non-binary, so I want to stick with safe pronouns, just in case. However, they’ve always been a favorite and as they’ve come out as such a champion for the LGBT, I love them even more. The album though gave me a lot of hype for something very 80′s rock, but didn’t quite give me what I expected. All in all, the music was fantastic, just a little off-beat from expectations. Recommended Tracks: Gimme What I Want, Angels Like You, WTF Do I Know.
17. Rina Sawayama’s Sawayama: I didn’t expect to fall in love with this girl the way I did. My boyfriend recommended “STFU” to me as kind of a joke because the song discusses a lot of Asian racism that I’m always criticizing people in my life for falling into, but then the song was so bad ass I checked out the album. There were so many different types of music on it and she really did a good job with all of them. Then, with the deluxe edition coming out and the hardcore club banger “Lucid” being involved... Just really brought it all home. Recommended Tracks: Tokyo Love Hotel, Lucid, Fuck This World.
16. Amber Liu’s X: This was just an EP, but every song on it was great. Amber Liu was from f(x), a K-Pop Icon Group, but she always seemed like the odd one out. She was such a tomboy, so silly and funny all the time, and didn’t really behave like other Korean idols. I mean, really, she isn’t actually even Korean. I believe she’s Chinese American. In either case, the EP really noted some of her own personal strugles in the business and also remaining pretty fun at parts too. I saw her live in Philly before COVID-19 and she was truly excellent. Recommended Tracks: Numb, Stay Calm, Other People.
15. Blackpink’s The Album: Not much of an album at only 8 tracks, but that’s K-Pop for you. I bet next year I’ll be putting “Blackpink’s The Album: Repackage” on my top 25 list. The quality of the music was pretty dope though, all things considered. It was a very solid debut effort with all of their previous songs being somewhere in the same lane as this one. I still kind of believe they are a reminder of what 2NE1 could have been, but they’re doing well enough on their own. Recommended Tracks: Ice Cream, Lovesick Girls, Pretty Savage.
14. Hazuki’s Year Over All: Kind of a weird way to word it, but Hazuki basically released two albums this year in different formats. His work with his band, Lynch., was pretty magnificent. I’m not one to usually dwell on a Lynch. album. Their singles or featured tracks are what I usually get into, but the actual album (Ultima) really did a good job of showing how versatile Hazuki can be. His solo album, Souen -Funeral-, was an entirely stripped down, gothic orchestral album of Lynch. covers and other J-Hard Rock artists. Hearing it done like this was almost transcendental. Recommended Tracks: Xero, Idol, Ray, D.A.R.K.
13. Sam Smith’s Love Goes: They had me scared that their album wasn’t coming this year once they pushed it back, back in May. Then again, at the time, an album called “To Die For” was probably super tone deaf. In any case, literally every single released for this album had me in love. So, when they all got included in the final version, I was thrilled. Sam gave us a bonus song after the album as well, but I can see why that one didn’t get on. In any case, this is a huge step up from “The Thrill of it All,” which I didn’t really care for. Recommended Tracks: Another One, Dance (’Til You Love Someone Else), Forgive Myself.
12. Troye Sivan’s In A Dream: I love this kid. He’s so gay and so not shy about it and it really makes me smile. The EP comes after his last LP, Bloom, where the title track basically talks about bottoming for the first time and this new EP deals with a few other queer issues over weirdly produced beats that just... make sense. Recommended tracks: Stud, In A Dream, Easy.
11. Matenrou Opera’s Chronos: Unfortunately, this band just lost their guitarist again. Their original, Anzi, was basically the most consummate guitarist in the visual kei scene that wasn’t Hizaki and he left them. Their sound wasn’t quite right since and they seemed to just get it back with Chronos when Jay left them. I guess we’ll see what they do next, but I think Chronos could be their last great release. Recommended Tracks: Chronos, Silence, Reminiscence.
10. BoA’s Better: A very recent release that hasn’t had much time for me to digest. This is strange for me to put it so high on my list for that reason, but BoA is one of my all time favorites. She never disappoints me. This album was no different. It wasn’t exactly up to par with “Woman” or “Watashi Kono Mama de Ii no Kana,” but it definitely gave us some new and very iconic Queen BoA bangers. Recommended Tracks: Cut Me Off, Start Over, Temptations.
9. Kesha’s High Road: A semi-step down from Rainbow, only because a lot of the same melodic elements and, sometimes, even beats were used on this album too. However, her vocal performance was outstanding and she even gave us a new dirty-pop song with some interesting indie-pop tracks to go with it. Plus, who doesn’t love a Big Freedia feature? Recommended Tracks: Resentment, Raising Hell, Tonight.
8. Lady Gaga’s Chromatica: Anyone who knows me knows I don’t really love Gaga anymore. After all the drama with Madonna and her experimentation with “Joanne” I didn’t think I’d ever like her music again. However, she definitely won back big points for me on Chromatica. It was finally fun, weird, dancey, and then simultaneously emotional and I was really able to get back into it. She’s always had the voice, but on this one it also showed us that she still has what made us love her. Recommended Tracks: Rain On Me, Plastic Doll, Enigma.
7. Koda Kumi’s My Name Is... Angel + Monster: She is, very likely, my Japanese Pop Queen. She always makes these absolutely outlandish bangers of dance tracks that have such a great attitude and beat and when she released re(CORD)... last year? 2018? Who can remember... I thought she could never outdo herself. Then she released “Lucky Star” and I was floored. I was a bit disappointed when they were only to promote a “My Name Is...” collection album, but then, to my surprise, a full set of new tracks came out just after that just blew me entirely away. Guess the last 6 albums must be pretty great, huh? Recommended tracks: Killer Monster, Work It!, Alarm.
6. Grimes’ Miss Anthropocene: I’ve never been a big fan of Grimes, but when Violence came out I was really looking forward to whatever album this was going to end up promoting. The song is actual fire, but then the LP ended up being some kind of experimental Gothic Pop with Asian Pop influences I never expected. I doubt I’ll ever find something she does this good ever again, but it was really a musical light in the darkness of this year. Recommended tracks: Darkseid, Delete Forever, Violence.
5. Kylie Minogue’s Disco: Admittedly, my draw to Kylie has always been that she is like some kind of Australian Madonna. Madonna being one of my all time favorite artists... In fact, number 2 for all women I listen to, Kylie has some big shoes to fill with her sometimes generic pop that she puts out. However, I haven’t really truly loved a Kylie song since “Get Outta My Way” and then this album comes out filled with tracks to love for the rest of time. Recommended Tracks: Miss A Thing, Till You Love Somebody, Magic.
4. Chanmina’s Notebook/Angel: I don’t have really any way of knowing how popular Chanmina is in Japan or if she is as popular in the Japanese Queer Scene as she should be, but god damn does she know what she’s doing. Her music is raunchy, bitchy, and condescending at it’s highest and deeply personal at it’s most mellow. There is no “lowest.” “Notebook” was a two-sided album and “Angel” a strong follow up EP, but all the recommended tracks are from “Notebook.” If you have not listened to “Picky”.... go do it now, I’ll wait. Recommended tracks: Picky, Baby, Lucy.
3. The Weeknd’s After Hours: Incidentally, I got into The Weeknd after someone said something shitty about him here on Tumblr! I took their likely-valid criticism and went to check him out for myself and I gotta say, I love his work. The beats are literally always on point and his voice is like silk. This album provided more than a few iconic songs and I always can’t wait to see what he does next. Recommended Tracks: Alone Again, Heartless, Blinding Lights.
2. Halsey’s Manic: The singles and features she did between Hopeless Fountain Kingdom and Manic gave me such insanely high hopes and I was not disappointed. HFK was a strong album of course, but this was near perfection for me. I think the production of this alt-pop album was the star of the show because it wasn’t all one way, there were heavy-bass songs, interesting piano riffs, striaght up punk rock, all of it. She really made an album quite like it’s namesake. Recommended Tracks: Ashley, Killing Boys, Still Learning.
1. Dexcore’s Metempsychosis: A newcomer to the visual kei and death metal scene, they’ve been putting out single after single for years in preparation for their extemeley long and multidaceted debut album. With a total of about 33 songs, the entire second disc was rerecorded singles from their early days and some even got new lyrical treatment. Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021) - Movie Review | SebKijk
This movie review was originally published on: https://sebkijk.nl.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is finally here. I can joyfully say that this movie has been well worth the wait. This movie is truly amazing. Not only is this my favorite DC Comics movie since The Dark Knight, but it is also one of my favorite superhero movies of all time. I’m just going to say it. Zack Snyder’s Justice League is also one of my favorite movies of all time. It is currently my number one movie of 2021. I have to limit my enthusiasm so I don’t just type in capital letters full of joy, but nonetheless, I’m going to fervently tell you why this movie is simply epic. My thanks to Warner Home Video and Day One MPM for their cooperation and screener copy of the film.
Synopsis Zack Snyder’s Justice League
In Zack Snyder’s Justice League, we see how Bruce Wayne is determined to make sure that Superman’s ultimate self-sacrifice was not futile. That’s why he teams up with Diana Prince. Together they try to form a team of meta-humans that can protect the world from an upcoming threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves tougher than imagined for Bruce, as each member must deal with their own demons before they can form an unparalleled team of heroes together. United, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash may not be up to the task of saving the planet from the cruel plans of Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid.
Snyder’s Vision
I want to take a moment to talk about the making of Zack Snyder’s Justice League. This film is the director’s cut of the 2017 American superhero film Justice League. It’s directed by Zack Snyder – duh! The film reflects the original and true vision of director Zack Snyder. Zack Snyder outlined his visionary foundation for the DC Extended Universe with his films Man of Steel (2013) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice(2016). Snyder’s original plan was to create a five-film arc. The films Man of Steel and BvS were to be succeeded by a Justice League trilogy. Snyder’s original vision was to show the dark and epic mythological side of superheroes.
This did not please everyone – including myself. I am not exactly a fan of Man of Steel, but I could appreciate BvS. However, I have only seen the theatrical version of this movie and not the Ultimate Cut. This ultimate version is also, according to many, the better version. After seeing Zack Snyder’s Justice League, I have also been itching to see this Ultimate Cut. Batman v Superman was mainly poorly received due to its dark tone, slow pace and lack of humor. Distributor Warner Bros. reconsidered changing the tone of the upcoming DCEU films, including the Justice League film which at the time was a month away from shooting.
Reshoots & other Difficulties
The shooting of Justice League began in April 2016 and concluded in December of that year. Months later, multiple versions of Snyder’s Justice League were shown to Warner Bros. executives. These executives considered these versions to be unwatchable. For this reason, Warner Bros. hired director Joss Whedon. Whedon had worked on superhero movies before. For example, he is the director of the Marvel Studios films The Avengers (2012) and Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). He was hired to rewrite the script and help with extensive reshoots. CEO Kevin Tsujihara determined that Justice league should not exceed two hours in length, and Warner Bros. also decided not to push the release date. This made it more difficult for the filmmakers to finish the film properly. Zack Snyder was expected to film the scenes that Whedon rewrote.
They worked together until Zack Snyder’s daughter Autumn killed herself in 2017. Zack Snyder continued working on Justice League for two more months to distract himself, but finally stepped down in May. His wife – and producer of the film – Deborah Snyderalso left the project. Whedon took full control of the production, although Snyder retained directorial control. It is estimated that Whedon’s version used about 10% of the footage Snyder shot. Composer Tom Holkenborg was also replaced by Danny Elfmanmidway through post-production. The scenes Whedon wrote or reshot for the theatrical release had a different tone and more humor. In addition, the level of violence was reduced in Snyder’s darker direction.
#ReleasetheSnyderCut
More than 90 minutes of Snyder’s footage was removed, but the result still remained the basis of the story. Although the initial cut was poorly received by test audiences, the early screening of Whedon’s cut scored as high as the first Wonder Woman film. For this reason, Warner Bros. decided to go ahead with it. Justice League was released in theaters in November 2017. Many critics and fans were disappointed. The film was described as one in which the work of two different directors – with competing visions – totally failed to come together. Warner Bros. lost about $60 million with this film, according to Deadline Hollywood. Fans rebelled against this version of the Justice League film and created an online petition to see Zack Snyder’s vision of the film.
The movement to see the Snyder Cut continued to grow tremendously on social media under the hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut. On May 20, 2020, Zack Snyder announced that his version of Justice League would be released on HBO Max in 2021. Fans around the world reacted to this news with enormous happiness. Additional scenes were shot in October 2020 that featured cast members such as Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Ray Fisher. In January 2021, it was announced that Snyder’s version of the film was completely finished. So this film has a long history, but how glad I am that this film still came out.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is DC’s Crowing Achievement
Zack Snyder’s Justice League feels like an epic comic book movie adaptation that evokes profound emotions. The film may be longer than 4 hours, but the strong quality makes it feel even too short. Snyder put his full vision and passion into his version of Justice League. The film is full of scenes that you’ll have not seen before. These are not only incredible action or mythological scenes, but also storylines where more empathy is generated for the characters. All the main and supporting characters are more strongly underpinned with backstories and motives in this film. Even a weak villain like Steppenwolf is much better fleshed out in Zack Snyder’s version of Justice League. As a viewer, I almost couldn’t believe it, but Steppenwolf genuinely came across as a danger to the heroes. In the 2017 Justice League film he looks and acts like a joke.
The villain’s design may be slightly over-the-top, but in terms of visual effects and CGI, it is certainly as good as the Marvel villain Thanos. Zack Snyder’s Justice League feels like DC’s epic. This is their answer to franchises like the Marvel Cinematic Universeand The Lord of the Rings. Zack Snyder’s Justice League is grandiose, spectacular and exceptionally deep. For example, the character elaborations are so good that as a viewer you start to care about fairly weird DC characters like Cyborg and Aquaman. Your empathy is not only created by the strongly written story and great acting. The camera work and editing also provide many symbolic shots that develop the characters.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is the Better Version
Take for example shots where Cyborg is looking out of a broken window. This symbolizes the fact that this is a broken character with a damaged view of the world. Each superhero gets a chance to steal the show, in that each character is much more fun and better than the characters in Whedon’s version. The Snyder Cut is simply a dream come true. Not only for Snyder, but also for the fans. For those who weren’t already aware; in my opinion, Zack Snyder’s version of Justice League is way better than the 2017 version. The film may be very long (and, according to some, slow), but this does not take away from the fact that the added material has a purpose. It doesn’t just consist of extra fan-service scenes.
These new additions serve a purpose and do not feel like a weakening of the material. On the contrary – it strengthens the entire film and its supporting characters. In Joss Whedon’s version, the superheroes only come together because it’s a superhero movie. In Zack Snyder’s version, the choices and motives are so much better substantiated. As a viewer, you believe that these characters must come together to stop the enemies. This is due to the sincerity of the new scenes. You get to see how these characters must learn to appreciate and understand each other. You get to see how they must learn to function as one team. According to some critics, the story still does not feel earned. The reasoning behind these criticisms rests mainly on the idea that all the characters should have been worked out in solo films first.
Unnecessary Criticism and Minor Flaws
While I can appreciate the idea of previous solo films, I personally think this is bad criticism. It is not based on what the end product is, but on what the end product should have been according to the reviewer. In my opinion, this is not how (film) criticism should work, even though I sometimes understand the urge to review like this. Of course, every reviewer is free to write however they want. The problem is that these critics allow their written opinion to be presented as the truth, when in fact it is their personal opinion. Still, I must say that I (also) have some minor problems with Zack Snyder’s Justice League. For example, there is an overuse of slow-motion scenes in the first and last hour of the film. This can get quite irritating at certain points, but that’s a personal taste issue.
In addition, the CGI and special effects don’t look quite finished at some points. For me, these are the only two minor points that I would like to criticize. Other than that, I for one thoroughly enjoyed Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Also, the work of composer JunkieXL is simply brilliant. It brings together musical themes from different films and characters perfectly. The acting by the entire cast is top notch. In this movie I particularly enjoyed Ray Fisher, Ezra Miller and Ben Affleck. The powers of the superheroes are also used to their full creative potential. This makes for spectacular scenes full of action and suspense. After watching Zack Snyder’s Justice League, I have a huge desire to re-watch Man of Steel and BvS. It has also created desire where I hope Zack Snyder gets to continue and finish his vision for this franchise.
Conclusion
Normally I write an extensive conclusion, but I only want to say two things briefly now. My thanks to Zack Snyder. Not only for creating a top-notch movie, but also for continuing your original vision. And also I hope Zack Snyder can make his two other Justice League movies. In short – #RestoreTheSnyderVerse.

Justice League International #9 (1988)
Tumblr media
I guess that means Black Canary will have to defeat the Manhunters.
I read The Lord of the Rings trilogy when I was twelve and I'll admit that I thought Éowyn killing the Witch-king was a pretty good twist on the prophecy that he would not be killed by the hand of man. Later, as I got old enough to despise everything in the world because my sense of wonder had been worn down to a nub like a well-used eraser, I realized twelve year old me was a credulous little rat bastard who wouldn't know a good twist if it jumped up out of the lake as a drowned zombie boy and pulled him under just when he thought the film was over and he was safe. Wait a second. I don't want to discuss Éowyn anymore! Maybe I'll get back to it but I've just realized something more important. If Jason had drowned and remained a little boy from 1957 to 1979, how does he become a grown ass adult in the subsequent movies?! I suppose serious Friday the 13th fans believe Alice simply imagined being pulled into the lake, since the police found no trace of a small boy. And the actual Jason didn't drown at all but received such severe brain damage that he decided to live in the woods like Grizzly Adams. Maybe he didn't even remember his mother until she showed up to murder all those counselors and he learned who he was by observing the first movie from the woods. Then we was all, "Man! That woman killed Ma! I'll show her you can't behead my Ma and not get beheaded yourself!" Hmm, that was too easy to solve once I spent any time at all thinking about it. I wonder how many hours I could lose looking up what actual fans of the franchise think? I'll never know though because I dislike fans and fan theories almost as much as I dislike my twelve year old self for being so amazed by the Éowyn twist! Maybe the Éowyn twist is just as good as I thought it was 37 years ago. It's not like I've ever gone back to re-read The Lord of the Rings. I've only read a handful of books more than once in my life and have never re-read a book immediately after reading it until now with Gravity's Rainbow. You can blame Thomas Pynchon on my lack of reading comic books lately because his book was so fucking good and had so much going on that I had to read it again immediately. This issue takes place during the big DC Millennium event so it might be a bit confusing for me. I'll be damned if I'm going to dig through one of the forty comic book boxes lying around just to find Millennium to read before this.
Tumblr media
No thanks! I think I'll just muddle through!
Remember when DC had huge events that crossed over into every single comic they put out but were totally boring and inconsequential and didn't have "METAL!" in the title? I'm so glad those days are over and Scott Snyder has made crossover events super fucking hardcore and radical again! *five minutes of mouth guitar noises*
Tumblr media
Oh! Is this some of that Éowyn-like prophetic foreshadowing?!
Rocket Red #7 has to be the most lame attempt at having a team member betray the team, especially since he's immediately replaced by Rocket Red #4. "Whoa! What a twist!" I probably thought back at my still tender and rat-bastardly age of sixteen. Rocket Red #7 comes right out and tells everybody that he's a Manhunter. I guess part of the Manhunter philosophy is to first try and recruit man. If unsuccessful, only then do you hunt man. Batman explains to Manhunter Rocket Red #7 how to painfully shove offers like that up excretory orifices. After Black Canary gets on his ass several times for not including her in his exclamations of "gentlemen," Manhunter Rocket Red #7 learns to say, "No man—or woman—can escape the Manhunters!" So I guess no Éowyn twist this time. Hell, I'll probably never learn the twist for how the Manhunters can be defeated because that's the kind of plot point that's going to take place in the actual Millennium issues. And I probably won't re-read those for another few years!
Tumblr media
"Suck on this, manhunter!" was my most commonly used phrase in college.
Black Canary is so concerned about gender equality maybe she should be scolding Batman for not hiring any other women. Rocket Red #7 beats the shit out of everybody inside the ship (not Beetle's Bug for some reason probably explained in Millennium #1) and then flies out to stand on top of it and not say he's king of the world because Titanic wasn't the huge breakout romantic hit it would be a decade later. What a great movie! It had everything! Boobs, guns, people dying. Like an Agatha Christie novel but with boobs! Once Rocket Red #7 is outside of the ship, the members of the Justice League with actual, non-screaming-related super-powers take notice of him. That's because they're flying to show off to the others their super powers. The characters I'm talking about are Guy Gardner and Martian Manhunter. Booster Gold is also flying outside the ship but he's just a small town thief with a Legion flight ring and a force field. He doesn't even have a manly bulge in this super tight suit! One thing I learned that maybe I knew once but probably not for long because I don't think it was ever front loaded as part of his characterization is that Rocket Red (like all Rocket Reds) is a techno-empath. That means his suit allows him to control technology by crying or getting angry. If you know for a fact that it means something else, just keep it to yourself, okay? This isn't fucking Wikipedia. It's a stupid joke review blog that, most of the time, forgets to even review the comic book. Nobody knows how to stop Rocket Red #7 from crashing the ship into a Bialian oil refinery because if they try to stop him, he'll blow up the ship and kill everybody inside. Which, you know, will happen anyway if it crashes into the oil refinery. So I don't know why nobody tries to stop him anyway. They just fly ahead to save civilians. Luckily Rocket Reds #1-...I don't know, 53 (minus #7) save the day! I guess they use their Techno-Empathy to shut down Rocket Red #7's eyeballs.
Tumblr media
Oh yeah, Rocket Red #7 dies here. I mean, not here, exactly, because nobody stops the Manhunters. He dies a little later after the jump scare out of the pile of debris scene.
Max Lord consults his mysterious robotic sounding friend about the Manhunter threat but the dumb thing doesn't know any more than he does. Lord mentions that the Manhunters have gotten close to all of their potential recruits while looking at a monitor with those recruits. One of them is Halo and Geoforce from The Outsiders! Oh why oh why couldn't Halo have become a member?! Halo was my pre-Sailor Moon role model. I think I've just always wanted to be a hot young woman. Oh yeah. Didn't Doctor Jace turn out to be a Manhunter? The story ends with Maxwell Lord's personal assistant shooting him because she was also a Manhunter. How all these people were Manhunters, I'll never know! I suppose it's like when you've been playing a Dungeons & Dragons campaign for four months and suddenly one of the NPCs turns out to be a polymorphed dragon and you're all, "Holy shit! What a twist! This DM is devious!" But in reality, the DM only thought up the twist thirty minutes before that night's campaign. It's pretty much exactly like that. Every writer at DC must have gotten a memo from editorial that read: "One of your characters needs to be a Manhunter. It doesn't matter which one but it would be a lot more exciting if they were an important part of the team!" And Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatties read their memo, shrugged, and concluded they were only willing to rid themselves of Max Lord's secretary and the stupid, replaceable Rocket Red. A second short story finishes up this issue. It's about Jack-o-lantern of the now defunct Global Guardians being wooed by Bialian Rumaan Harjavti. He wants a super group of terrorists to threaten the Western world with. I guess they'll become Bialya's version of Qurac's Jihad. If it ever comes together, of course. Jack-o-Lantern would just be using Rumaan's money and support to get a new global team together. Probably. Justice League International #9 Rating: B. Did you know China has a university called the China University of Mining and Technology? That acronym is so close to being disgusting! Some translator should point it out so they can come up with a synonym for "mining" that begins with an "n" so they can sell a ton of school merch to the West.

Monday morning, Alya was waiting for Marinette by the school’s entrance, like she usually did, while busy viewing and reviewing her the video she had uploaded a few days before. The video about Captain Marvel’s arrival in Paris.
Not a moment later, the aspiring reporter noticed her best friend, Marinette, running to school as usual.
“Come on girl!” Alya gestured at Marinette. “Hurry up!”
Not before long, Marinette arrived on school, just in time for her trip unto a lone rock in the sidewalk into the hands of one model, Adrien Agreste.
“Nice catch sunshine!” Alya praised.
“H-hey A-adrien. Marinette greeted, still on Adrien’s arms. “T-thank you for ca-catching me.” She expressed her gratitude while picking herself up clumsily.
“You’re welcome.” Adrien smiled. “You should really be careful.” He cautioned his friend.
“Seriously girl you need to watch where you’re walking.” Alya teased. “Or was that intentional on your part?” She whispered.
“Alya!” Marinette pouted. “You already know that’s not the case.” She hissed as she and her best friend walked towards their classroom.
“What’s not the case?” Adrien’s questioned as he walked behind the two ladies.
“Oh you know.” Alya shrugged. “How there’s now three heroes in Paris at the moment.” She stated as she played the video of her interview with Captain Marvel.
“I am kinda surprised that he still defends the Justice League.” Marinette voiced out. “After Superman refused to take his suggestion into account and got into an all-out brawl.”
“Girl! You’re well informed!” Alya praised. “How’d you know that?”
“I kinda checked up on Captain Marvel after watching your interview with him.” Marinette admitted.
“Neither the Justice League nor the Marvel Family confirmed why he left though.” Adrien hummed. “I just thought that he didn’t have time to be a member of both groups.”
“Still it’s kinda baffling how he knows a lot about the Miraculous.” Alya hummed. “Both Ladybug and Chat Noir had yet to comment about the Miraculous and this new guy shows up and gives more info than our local heroes have told us.”
“Maybe he’s one of the guardians?” Marinette offered.
“But he doesn’t have the symbol that the previous Miraculoous heroes had.” Alya pointed out.
Before Marinette could even reply, the three of them had already arrived by their room. They proceeded to their sits, Marinette beside Alya and Adrien just in front of Marinette.
“Okay class we’re going to have a transfer student in class.” Mme Mendeleieve started. “Mme Bustier has called in sick and I’ll be your substitute for today.” She explained her presence. “M Batson if you would.”
A boy in a red sweater and blue jeans went inside the room and stood in front of the class.
“Good Morning Everyone, I’m William Joseph Batson, I came from Fawcett City and I’m here for the exchange student program.” He informed the whole class. “It’s nice to meet you all.”
“M Batson if you have any questions, you can ask the Class Representative.” Mme Menedeleive informed the new student.
“Marinette, please help M Batson around.
“Yes Mme Mendeleieve.” Marinette stood and approached the new boy.
“Hi!” Marinette greeted. “I’m Marinette.” She introduced herself.
“William Joseph Batson.” Billy returned the favor.” Just call me Billy.” He smiled at girl.
“M Batson, you can sit beside Mme Lila Rossi.” The teacher instructed. “Lila please raise your hand.”
The girl in question didn’t even hesitate and raised her hand gleefully.
“Marinette, please escort M Batson to his seat.” The teacher continued.
“Right this way Billy.” Marinette instructed the new student and offered her hand.
“Thank you Mme Dupain-Cheng.” Billy expressed his gratitude.
“Just call me Marinette.” Marinette smiled.
“Well then.” Billy grinned back. “Thank you Marinette.”
“You’re Welcome.” Marinette responded. “You can approach me during lunch if you have any questions or want me to tour the school with you.”
As soon as Billy was seated, Marinette, although filled with pity for the new boy, left him as the teacher reviewed their lessons before starting a new lesson.
“You’re from Fawcett City, right Billy?” The girl beside him asked. “Did you know that Captain Marvel and I were best friends?” She shared. “Well his wife and I go way back, you know Mary Marvel?”
“W-wife?” Billy stuttered. “I didn’t know that Captain Marvel had a wife.”
“Oh they actually wanted to keep it on the down low.” Lila shushed. “Please don’t tell anyone I told you that.”
“Lila please share your book with M Batson and please refrain from talking any other thing while we’re in class.” Mme Mendeleieve ordered.
“Will do Mme Menedeleive.” Lila nodded as she scooted next to the new student and gave let him borrow her book.
---------
Billy was caught off guard with the mention that his heroic alter-ego had a wife. He was even more perturbed when that supposed wife was his twin sister’s champion form.
What’s more was that this Lila person also claimed to “go a long way” with his twin sister.
That was when he noticed a very small purple orb that escaped from the girl’s mouth and made an attempt to make contact with him.
An attempt.
The purple orb disintegrated when his shirt gave off a small arc of electricity. It was probably his magic defending him from whatever that purple orb was.
“Gorgons according to the many Greek epics were immortals.” Mme Mendeleieve discussed. “One of them was just a regular mortal who incurred the wrath of Athena, the supposed goddess of wisdom.” She continued.
The bell suddenly rang, bringing the discussion to a halt.
“How was the hero Perseus able to defeat in his bout against Medusa?” Mme Mendeleive questioned. “Did he blind Medusa or did he let Medusa look at her own reflection?” She continued. “That will be your homework for Mme Bustier’s subject.” She added. That will be all for Mme Bustier’s subject.”
Mme Mendeleieve started gathering Mme Bustier’s things as she headed towards the door.
“You have a few minutes to proceed to the Science Classroom.” The Science teacher instructed.
---------
Lunch Break came and Billy saw how her first seatmate immediately latched onto the class’s teen model – Adrien Agreste. He looked closely at his seatmate and the boy he latched onto and sure enough, a very small purple orb exited her mouth.
He looked at the orb and it made contact with boy’s silver ring and promptly disappeared.
“Billy right?” Alya asked him. “You can have lunch with our group until Marinette comes back.” She offered. “She usually eats her lunch at her home because it was near.” She explained. “Alya Cesaire.” She introduced herself to him. “
“Hey, why don’t we let Lila tour you around Billy?” A girl in pink shirt with blond hair suggested. “She’s super friendly.” She added. “I’m Rose Lavillant, everyone calls me Rose.”
“They were seatmates Rose.” The girl with black and green clothes pointed out. “I even noticed that they were talking to each other.” She added. “Alix Kubdel, call me Alix.”
“Sorry Rose, I need to get Adrien home and then I have to go to my mother’s office.” Lila apologized. “It’s about a trip to Gotham City and I really don’t want to go.”
“Don’t tell me, you’ve got into a fight with Damiboo?” The muscular boy in red jacket grinned. “Only you Lila, only you.” He chuckled.
“He’s right.” Rose nodded. “I wonder if Damien Wayne is as good as Prince Ali.” She added. “If he was, I would’ve earned their friendship and won’t fight with them.”
Billy watched as this Lila person talked and responded to her classmates’ words and questions. While there were no small and indistinct purple orbs coming out of the Rossi’s mouth but rather a tinge of pink smoke appeared on his new classmates’ head, as if she was already in control of their thoughts.
The only ones who didn’t have that tinge of pink smoke over their heads were Marinette and Adrien – the boy Lila was clinging onto.
Wait were they talking about the Damien Wayne?
As in Bruce Wayne’s son, Damien Wayne?
“These girls.” Alya shook her head. “Offer still stands Billy, you can eat with us until Marinette finishes her lunch.”
“Sure” Billy nodded.
“B-billy, I need to go home first, could you eat your lunch while you wait for me?” Marinette asked after approaching the new student.
“Got you covered girl.” Alya assured. “Billy’s eating with us.”
“Yeah, Alya already offered.” Billy confirmed. “We’ll go with the tour any time you’re back.”
“Thank you.” Marinette expressed her gratitude before running home.
“That girl needs to slow down on her commissions.” Alya chuckled. “She barely comes to school on time.” She shook her head.
---------
Everyone has managed to introduce themselves to Billy, from Nino to Max and Kim to Ivan.
In Billy’s frank opinion, they were an energetic bunch, artistic and energetic. They were all in track for the art course once they finish their Collège.
Considering his status as an exchange student, it probably didn’t matter which classroom he’d end up with. Can’t say he didn’t like the arrangement considering his primary objective.
“So I’ve been meaning to ask this.” Alya voiced out. “Despite being an American, your French is impressive Billy.” She praised. “Were your parents French?”
“About that…” Billy trailed off. “I’m an orphan.” He admitted.
“Oh my gosh!” The entire class gasped. “I’m so sorry!” Alya apologized.
“No it’s okay.” Billy smiled weakly. “They died in a dig site in Khandaq as archaeologists.”
“That does beg to question how your French is impressive.” Max voiced out as he fixed his eyeglasses.
“Would you believe me if I said I was self-taught?” Billy asked.
“Not a chance dude.” Nino chuckled. “But if you’re uncomfortable with answering the question it’s fine.”
“Worth a shot.” Billy grinned. “Although I kinda want to keep my teacher a secret if that’s okay.”
“It’s fine.” Alya shrugged. “But I’m going to find out who your teacher is.”
“Alya.” Nino sighed.
“What?” Alya pouted. “If Billy can speak French fluently then his teacher can teach me so that I’ll also be fluent in English.”
---------
A few more moments passed and a Marinette Dupain-Cheng arrived at school, out of breath while a certain Adrien Agreste went inside the school as calm as he can be.
Billy noticed that there were red and black something that went through the school’s wall, near the door to the men’s bathroom.
“B-billy, are you ready for the tour?” Marinette ran towards Billy.
“Breathe girl.” Alya instructed. “How many commissions girl?”
“A few.” Marinette admitted.
“Tell you what Marinette, let’s have the tour after classes.” Billy offered. “I kinda need to use the restroom now.” He admitted sheepishly.
“That works great for Marinette.” Alya responded immediately. “That way she can rest for the time being instead of rushing into things.”
“Alya! You know Jagged’s deadline is this Friday.” Marinette protested.
“And today’s Monday.” Alya fired back. “Girl you need to rest or you’ll burn out.”
“While we ignore these two dudettes, the male rest room is right in front of us.” Nino directed. “Be back before class dude.”
“I will” Billy nodded as he went inside the bathroom.
Billy rushed to the bathroom, went inside a stall and locked it from the inside.
“Shazam!”
As soon as Billy yelled the wizard’s name, lightning bolt came crashing from the ceiling, but did not damage the school in any way, and transformed him into his heroic persona, Captain Marvel.
As soon as he transformed two floating things phased through the stall’s walls and he was face-to-face with the kwamis of Creation and Destruction,
“Lord Plagg, Lady Tikki.” Captain Marvel greeted.
“Huh, you were right sugarcube.” The black kwami stated. “He really is a champion of order.”
“Why did the Lord of Order send you champion?” Tikki asked.
“Sugarcube’s right.” Plagg agreed. “We’ve been handling the Hawkmoth and Mayura issue pretty well if I do say so myself.” He bragged.
“Speak for yourself Plagg!” Tikki huffed. “Your chosen’s been acting out of character lately.”
“Really?” Plagg asked. “I hadn’t noticed.” Plagg admitted. “A-bwah.”
Green bubbles came out of Plagg’s mouth as if it was hindering him from ever saying something.
“It’s a spell to keep us from revealing our wielder’s names.” Tikki explained.
“He has been doing pretty fine, puns and all.” Plagg informed the two.
“You really haven’t noticed?” Tikki asked worriedly.
“What’s there to notice?” Plagg questioned. “My kitten’s doing his best supporting his lady.”
“Do you notice anything different whenever you’re pulled inside the Miraculous?” Captain Marvel asked his own question.
“Now that you mention it…” Plagg trailed off. “It’s like wrestling control of the Miraculous from someone.” He admitted. “But that’s easily quelled considering I am tied to the Miraculous and all.” He shrugged.
“Anyway, why are you questioning me?!” Plagg pointed at the new hero. “Is this an interrogation?”
“No Plagg.” Tikki shook her head. “Chat Noir’s been acting out of character lately.” She repeated her statement from earlier. “Instead of supporting Ladybug, all he does is flirt with her.” She informed the black cat Kwami.
“He said he’d give up on Ladybug.” Plagg narrowed his eyes.
“The magic inside Chat Noir is chaotic.” Captain Marvel informed both kwami. “You’re unconsciously fighting off that something even when you’re powering your chosen.” He added.
“Do you know what’s causing it?” Tikki looked at Captain Marvel expectantly.
“I have a hunch.” Marvel nodded. “But there’s a catch, to snap Chat Noir back to his senses, he needs to get shocked briefly.”
“What would that do?” Plagg narrowed his eyes.
“It’ll only disperse of what I believe was absorbed into your Miraculous.” Captain Marvel answered. “Or at the very least expel what you’re fighting, but it’ll be absorbed back into the ring after he depowers.
Before anyone else could even respond, yells and screams were heard from outside the restroom. Some were even hiding inside the stalls of the room.
“Another Akuma?” Someone from Marvel’s right groaned. “I have some deadlines today!”
“It’s not like you haven’t lived in Paris for the past year.” Another offered. “Hawkmoth sends an Akuma like every other day, if he’s not planning something big.”
“Doesn’t mean I have to like it!”
Plagg and Tikki nodded to each other before they flew towards their chosen.
Captain Marvel on the other hand stepped outside of the restroom before flying towards the direction the people are running away from.

Rules: tag people you’d like to know better!
Thanks to @momentofmemory for tagging me!
1. Dogs or Cats? I love both! But I do prefer dogs more. They let you pet them all day if you could.
2. YouTube celebrities or normal celebrities? Do YouTube counts if I only know one or two entertainment network on it and could match most of their faces to a name? Like they are fun to watch for entertainment, but I try to keep away from their personal lives. They don’t owe us everything about their lives.
3. If you could live anywhere where would that be? I romanticized living anywhere in the world. Paris, NYC, Tokyo, that cabin in the middle of the woods next to the lake. That hotel suite on the top floor downtown. I moved around a lot as a kid. Just love walking into a place an imagine how a normal life could be based around the place.
4. Disney or DreamWorks? Disney only because I seen and remember them more. Doesn’t help that they are also a Megacorporation who own and control 35% of all entertainment or something like that.
5. Favorite childhood TV show? So many to choose because I’m so nostalgic for them now. But if I have to choose, Avatar:The Last Airbender (I prefer Legend of Korra more, unpopular opinion), and Kim Possible!!
6.  The movie you’re looking forward to most in 2020? I had to Google this because not a big movie goer. But Wonder Woman:1984 look interesting.
7. Favorite book you read in 2019? Not books but plenty of fanfiction. Don’t have the energy to emotional invest into something new. Scratch that. I just remember I read The Tyrant’s Tomb by Rick Riordan. Still can’t believe these books are still being written.
8. Marvel or DC? Marvel fan. Just find Marvel more appealing. I think it’s because it’s set in the real world and when they introduce real-world issues, you just get it and it easier to get emotional involved. Like I can’t get why people still live in Gotham, but I could understand more why people would still live in New York City.
9. If you choose Marvel favorite member of the X-Men? If you choose DC favorite Justice League member? Not a big X-men fan but the recent Dawn of X comic lines is drawing me into them. If you look at my blog, my favorite is clearly Spider-Man (Peter Parker to exact, if anyone was wondering.) For DC: Wonder Woman (tried to read her comics book but magic is a hard sell for me.)
10. Night or Day? I’m a morning bird but romanticized the night so much. My favorite memories are always at night, up late with my friends shooting the shit. Or driving everyone home on a empty highway.
11. Favorite Pokemon? Squirtle!! (Squirle Squad for life!) Also just learned recently it’s just a turtle and a squirrel mixed together.
12. Top 5 bands/artists: I like whatever sound good or have an emotional connection with. So I don’t like a particular band or artist. But based on my playlist, early Taylor Swift, Green Day, Hans Zimmer, and The Lonely Island.
13. Top 10 books The Percy Jackson series, (that could be the entire list if you count the squeal series) by Rick Riordan; Gameboard of the Gods by Richelle Mead; World War Z by Max Brooks; Vicious by V.E. Schwab; Under my Skin series by @asynca (seriously check them out); and The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
14. Top 4 movies Into the Spider-Verse, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Inside Out.
15. America or Europe? They both f***** based accounting to Tumblr.
16. Tumblr or Twitter? Tumblr. And my friend regretted having me join. (She unfollowed me because as she put it, “I want to see my dashboard, not yours.” She still my friend so we all good.)
17. Favorite vacation destination? My friends. One live over 100 miles away and the other is literally down the street from me. (But stupid adult/work life keep us from only seeing each other once a month though.)
18. Favorite YouTuber? The FunHaus group.
19. Favorite author? Fanfictions writers because they give us so much more with little to nothing in return.
20. Tea or Coffee? Not a tea or coffee person. I will accept cold coffee from time to time and tea when i’m feeling adventurous.
Etc.
21. OTP? Too many to list!!! Just check my tags if you’re really curious.
22. Do you play an instrument/sing? No but I always wanted to learned how to play instruments: piano, violin and guitar. Singing is for the shower and karaoke where you enjoy being bad together.
Tagging - only if you want to!
@thatlaptopgirl @yourgrinningcheshirecat @spinningglobes
(only because i knew these people irl and too nervous to ask anyone else)

Titans: Get to Know Blackfire
https://ift.tt/3kdISpP
This article contains Titans spoilers.
Titans Episode 4
As the team continues to grow, Titans episode 4, “Blackfire,” re-introduces us to Starfire’s sister. If you’ve watched the previous season of Titans then you’ll remember her as the epically stylish and nefarious Queen of Tamaran.
While Blackfire (Damaris Lewis) was less of a present threat in season two, now she’s on Earth and, as we learn this week this week, has been behind Starfire’s escalating and ever more violent visions. What she’d actually been experiencing were psychic messages from her sister, who was begging for her help as she had been captured by the US government and imprisoned deep underground. It’s a big surprise as the end of last season saw Blackfire hit Earth with big plans of revenge, but here we see her as a helpless victim and one who has to reach out to the woman she came to conquer for assistance.
It was an emotional episode for Starfire who has to help the sister she left behind, even though Blackfire killed their parents and usurped their reign. But it’s also a wake up call for the Princess of Tamaran, who has to come to terms with her own role in her sister’s dysfunction and crimes. In the end, Gar and Koriand’r do save Blackfire, which means she’s likely going to become a regular.
So we’re here to give you the lowdown on Blackfire, who’s not only an original New Teen Titans character but a DC stalwart has also starred in a ton of your fave animated adventures. Get ready to get familiar with TV’s newest Titan.
The Origins of Blackfire
Marv Wolfman and George Pérez already shook up the DC Universe with their New Teen Titans series when they introduced Blackfire in their 22nd issue. Unlike the more grounded and emotionally driven human stories which defined much of what made New Teen Titans so popular, the saga of Blackfire and Starfire threw the Titans into a hard sci-fi adventure that pitted them against the eldest child of Tamaran.
Princess Komand’r made an indelible imprint when she appeared on the final pages of New Teen Titans #22 with a memorable splash page showcasing the alien queen as she declared, “Her sister shall be her slayer!”
But why does she hate Starfire so deeply? Well, it’s a particularly tragic story and most tragic of all it’s a villain origin that isn’t actually Blackfire’s fault at all. In fact she was as much of a victim as the rest of Tamaran.
In the DC Universe, the Citadel Empire is one of the most feared foes in the galaxy, and they proved why on the day that Komand’r was born. The Empire attacked Tamaran and killed thousands of its citizens and then to make things worse–and to create one of DC’s most powerful villains–they claim to have done it in the name of the newborn princess. While the blame for that obviously does not lay at the feet of a newborn babe, it began a drastically tragic relationship with her home nation that never recovered.

Superman & Lois: Inside the Season’s Big Twists and that Finale Ending
By Mike Cecchini
Rejected by her own people after an illness that stopped her gaining the powers of flight and propulsion that Tamaraneans are known for, Blackfire was passed over for her rightful place as the heir to the planet’s throne. Of course, we all know who gained that seat: Koriand’r.
Blackfire and Starfire
That fateful choice sparked a sibling rivalry that would echo through the galaxy. While Starfire was raised to become the next ruler of Tamaran, Blackfire struggled to come to terms with her new place in the world, ultimately attempting to kill her younger sister during routine training. It was here that she was finally expelled from Tamaran and became a powerful member of the Citadel.
Soon Blackfire led an invasion, successfully taking over her home planet and imprisoning her sister as well as banning her from ever returning to Tamaran. During her imprisonment, Starfire was abused and assaulted, eventually killing one of her attackers. Just as it seemed the end might be near for her as Komand’r planned her execution, the sisters were kidnapped and experimented on by the aliens known as Psions. It was a blessing in disguise, though, as Kori used her new status quo to escape, eventually landing on Earth and teaming up with the heroes who would become the Teen Titans.
Their story didn’t end there. After she exploded onto the pages of New Teen Titans, Blackfire quickly established herself as a fearsome and canny foe for Starfire. Trapping her in a cosmic prison, she mentally tortured her sister before revealing her true plan: to kill their parents and destroy Tamaran.
The version of Blackfire that we’re meeting in Titans has already achieved that dastardly dream, but in the comics she’s defeated after she and Starfire have a fight to the death on Tamaran. Starfire overpowers her as Blackfire boils herself to death in a waterfall while trying to defeat her younger sister. The epic battle also led to the introduction of their younger brother, Wildfire, who it turns out was on their home planet all along with Koriand’r’s still alive parents. While she wants to stay, they force her to leave as they know the Citadel will attack again soon and she’s safer on Earth with the Titans.
Blackfire Beyond the New Teen Titans
Shockingly, Blackfire survived her near death experience and continued her role as a would be conqueror. She never forgave the Titans for her defeat and attempted to defeat them by pitting them against each other. Blackfire’s campaign against her sister and for ultimate power has rarely ceased and, though she didn’t have too many appearances in the classic comics over the years, she was redefined in the New 52 era.
Most recently, Blackfire was the primary antagonist in the second arc of the cosmic Justice League Odyssey series. She battled Darkseid, Starfire, and co., even commanding her army against the unusual allies. However, in Justice League Odyssey #14 Komand’r eventually became an official member of the reconfigured team under the leadership of Jessica Cruz, who Queen Blackfire came to greatly admire in their battle against Darkseid.

Blackfire in Other Media
One of the most interesting aspects of Blackfire’s history is her prevalence in DC’s animated adaptations. While she’s not the most well known of DC’s rogues, she has had key roles in shows like Teen Titans, Teen Titans Go!, and DC Super Hero Girls. In each of them Komand’r appears as an antagonist to Starfire. There’s something about that sibling rivalry that inspires creators to keep revisiting their relationship. It also helps that she’s a huge rogue for the Titans as a whole and reinforces the more cosmic aspects of their adventures.
In Teen Titans, the elder sister of Starfire appears at first as an ally before revealing herself as an antagonist with a plan to frame Koriand’r for her own sins. During Teen Titans Go!, the more comedic show sets her up as a sometimes ally, most times antagonist, though even her betrayals are played for laughs. DC Super Hero Girls offers up the most kind version of the character, more like an annoying and sometimes cruel elder sister than a true villain. That’s also continued in DC Super Hero Girls: Intergalactic Games, which actually sees Blackfire team up with her sister to help save the day… which we could see in Titans.
She’s a character so key to Starfire that even when she doesn’t appear she’s still referenced in animated DC movies like Justice League vs. Teen Titans and Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. It’s a testament to how much of a key part of her sister’s lore and background Blackfire is. That’s why her arrival as a main cast member in Titans means Starfire will definitely be taking center stage as we move towards the middle of the new season.
What’s Next for Blackfire on Titans?
Titans has already proven that it’s a show about family. From the found family setup that it’s built around to the exploration of how our parents define us through the Robins and Batman as well as Gar and his father, the superhero show has a lot of interest in the concept of (Bat)families and what they mean. It’s why Blackfire’s arrival makes so much sense. Not only is she the only surviving member of Starfire’s family in this world, but she’s going to shine a light on the past that Starfire has tried so desperately to forget.
Like the rest of the series so far, there are layers to both characters, with no clear delineation between good and evil. Instead, we get a Blackfire who was driven to her actions by abuse and neglect, and Starfire has to deal with her complicity in those actions that made her sister feel so isolated and alone.
But there’s hope. The fact we see Starfire go against the US government to save her sister from a fate worse than death means we’ll likely see them attempt to reconnect and rebuild the trust they’ve lost. We may even see them fight alongside each other, but the big overarching question will be whether this is all part of Blackfire’s larger scheme to get vengeance on her sister. If not we could see another unexpected member of the Titans team… and if it is then we’ll likely see a war of intergalactic proportions.
Titans drops new episodes on HBO Max every Thursday.

REVIEW: ‘League’ is flawed but brave
It appears at first counterintuitive to supply folks considerably extra of one thing they did not very a lot get pleasure from within the first place — like a chef who follows up an unsuccessful meal by giving the sad patrons extra entrees in take-home packing containers — however, within the case of Zack Snyder’s long-agitated-for prolonged reduce of “Justice League,” HBO Max is providing extremely anticipated fan service of the best order.
In any case, returning to the above analogy, it is extra as if patrons had gone to this restaurant particularly for the chef, who midway by means of making their dinner needed to abruptly depart and was changed by a brand new prepare dinner, nabbed from a completely completely different restaurant down the highway.
When Snyder was in the midst of his would-be opus again in 2016, a tragedy involving his daughter pressured him to desert the movie to be able to be together with his grief-stricken household. Determined, and on quick discover, the producers shortly plucked Joss Whedon, the director of the primary two “Avengers” installments, and, as an emergency screenwriter, the savior of struggling options for many years earlier than. As has been fairly famously chronicled at this level, it was, let’s assume, not a superb match. Whedon grated on members of the crew and forged, and rewrote many sections of the movie to try to lighten the darkish, dour temper of Snyder’s unique, which left the movie feeling like a horror present mishmash of concepts and tones.
Now, 4 years later, Snyder has lastly returned to recut, reshoot, and restore his unique imaginative and prescient. The result’s actually combined — largely depending on how a lot Snyder you loved within the first place — however at the very least the still-grieving director has been allowed an opportunity at redeeming his ardour challenge. That lots of the unique flaws are nonetheless there, some exacerbated, would not take away from his dedication underneath clearly excruciating circumstances.
That stated, to separate the artist’s anguish from the artwork, with a movie, at a staggering 242 minutes, actually twice so long as the hybrid unique, it’s a must to ask whether or not this new reduce was definitely worth the effort. The reply relies upon largely in your perspective.
It’s at the very least improved: The story, as hackneyed because it stays, makes a superb deal extra sense, every character will get extra display time and at the very least some kind of backstory (with sure tales working extra successfully than others), and there are an incredible many extra characters and subplots concerned in consequence. There’s additionally an prolonged, multi-scene epilogue that serves to arrange a number of additional DCEU installments, offering sufficient fodder for obsessed fan-folk to chew on and speculate over for months to return. However although Snyder has added one other movie’s price of fabric into the primary one, his film nonetheless feels choked with an excessive amount of occurring too quick and too little time for any of the characters to breathe. As superb as this will likely sound, even at 4 hours, it feels rushed.
The story principally follows the MCU “Avengers” system for uniting a disparate super-team: Throw a bunch of MacGuffins over the earth (on this case, a trio of sq. cubes referred to as “Motherboxes,” an indestructible expertise from a distant alien race that has the flexibility to reshape matter) and ship an alien emissary to retrieve them and obtain world dominance. Solely, rather than Marvel’s baddie Thanos, ruthless whereas additionally philosophic about his objective, now we have Steppenwolf (voice of Ciarán Hinds), an enormous, hammer-headed being who speaks in boring, evil platitudes (“I’ll bathe in your concern,” and “The good darkness begins!”) and who’s solely there to get again within the good graces of his ultra-baddie chief, Darkseid (Ray Porter), a Thanos-dead ringer save for the shortage of purplish hue and scrotal chin.
As a way to defend the Earth, Batman (Ben Affleck) and Marvel Lady (Gal Gadot) must scour the globe to make pleas to different superbeings to affix them, particularly within the wake of the demise of Superman (which occurred within the earlier “Batman v Superman: Daybreak of Justice”), leaving the planet weak. Finally, they persuade a number of different supes to affix the fold, together with the Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and Aquaman (Jason Momoa), which nonetheless proves no match for the closely armored Steppenwolf, till the heroes get the thought to make use of one of many Motherboxes to convey Superman (Henry Cavill) again to life to avoid wasting everybody.
Much more occurs, as you possibly can think about, involving subplots with Cyborg’s creator (and father) Silas Stone (Joe Morton) and his assistant Ryan Choi (Ryan Zheng), a lab employee who will ultimately turn into DC hero the Atom; Marvel Lady’s house island of Amazonia, lead by Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielson); the Flash’s falsely imprisoned father; Superman’s beloved Lois Lane (Amy Adams) and mom (Diane Lane), grieving his loss; and a mysterious further hero I will not reveal, who begins to make his presence felt because the story proceeds.
At its engorged coronary heart, nonetheless, Snyder’s movie is all in regards to the resurrection of Superman — the only greatest scene, as with the unique, arrives when the reborn Kal-El, confused and offended about his rebirth, does fast battle in opposition to the remainder of the League till Lois Lane involves consolation him — a momentous second, each for the DCEU, and, it seems, the remainder of the planet.
Certainly, because the movie involves its action-packed climax, it turns into fairly clear having Superman (returned, ultimately in a jet-black and grey uniform that makes him seem like he tapped Batman’s tailor) on the group is the equal of placing LeBron James on a highschool JV squad: With the Man of Metal on board, the group makes remarkably fast work of the hazard risk posed in opposition to the planet, with out a lot breaking a sweat.
And, right here is among the methods this new movie falls prey to certainly one of DC’s oldest bugaboos: Having a personality so omnisciently highly effective as Superman creates an unlimited drawback for writers hoping to craft a story that efficiently places its heroes at risk. The MCU handles such issues by ensuring every of its heroes, even the cosmically enhanced members, are nonetheless weak, both emotionally, mentally, or bodily, sufficient to be threatened (see the Hulk in the previous few “Avengers” movies). Superman is so bloody unstoppable, when he is in your aspect, it is close to unattainable to lose, until the villain in query occurs upon a brick of inexperienced kryptonite.
It additionally has the impact of creating many of the different superheroes completely superfluous, save for Cyborg, whose father in some way gave him complete dominion over all issues tech or internet-based (so, kind of like a digital native 5-year-old), and whose superhacking ministrations assist use the motherboxes in opposition to Darkseid when it issues.
There are additionally the same old plethora of aggravating Snyderisms — visible particulars meant to additional punch up dramatic affect that make no earthly sense, similar to Aquaman rising from the raging depths of the ocean in denims and untied workboots, and Cyborg’s dad, who heads a lab that makes use of essentially the most fashionable expertise accessible, recording a loving message to his son on an older-than-OG microcassette recorder — that appear harmless sufficient, however add to a rising sense of unreality in moments that might use extra grounding. In Snyder’s largely CGI creations, all the things’s at all times at peak drama — if there’s rain, it is a deluge; snow, a close to blizzard; if a metropolis appears burned out and decaying, it is relentlessly so — leaving each second overladen and overwrought.
It is an adolescent kind of conception, by which each second should be dropped at its fullest potential degree, that begins out wearisome and turns into completely distracting after a number of hours inside its overripe confines. Satirically, it is also the pure outcropping of what folks used to consider with youngsters comedian books — an unsophisticated, melodramatic artform combining pulpy narratives with cleaning soap opera emotional beats — however it does a critical disservice to the style, which is vastly extra refined within the fashionable period.
Sadly for the DC Prolonged Universe, the Marvel Comedian Universe has set the usual for superhero flicks — for higher and worse, it should be stated — and their managing to stability emotional weight and all-out battle soirées, at their greatest, could be a masterful exploitation of the medium. Snyder, to his credit score, would not simply wish to copy the MCU codex, however create one thing of a unique taste from the Disney-spawned behemoth — that is actually extra notable in Snyder’s reduce, as Whedon, recent from his adventures behind the digicam for the “Avengers,” angled issues way more within the Marvel vein, resulting in a lot of the tonal dissonance within the first place — however after this, Snyder’s third movie within the DCEU, the restrictions of his grim imaginative and prescient are fairly clear.
Nonetheless, it is vitally necessary to not lose sight of the deeper significance with this launch: The director movingly dedicates the movie to his misplaced daughter, rolling the credit underneath a spare model of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” and one hopes the completion of the movie has supplied Snyder an opportunity at some semblance of solace. As an act of defiance within the face of unimaginable grief, it is commendably courageous, which could finally be extra significant than any of its inventive deserves.

4 years have passed since Warner Bros hacked-to-pieces theatrical cut of Justice League left many DCEU and Snyder fans either underwhelmed or disappointed. However, thanks to concentrated fan support and campaigning, 𝐙𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐞 has hit HBO Max this week and I, for one, had every reason to be skeptical. Snyder isn’t the best action director or storyteller out there despite his ambition and passion but I’ve grown to appreciate and eventually like Man Of Steel and BvS after multiple viewings so that’s saying something. Of course, the million dollar question is....is his cut of the movie any better than the one we actually got?⁣ ⁣ Yes, yes a thousand times yes! Zack’s intended vision for the Justice League film isn’t just an improvement, it’s like it assimilated all of the good that the theatrical cut desperately tried to squirm away from. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ The film looks and feels miles different than what we got before. Not only does the dark blue/grey tinted color palette matching that of Man Of Steel reflect the 4:3 aspect ratios rather claustrophobic and psychological grounding between spaces but the cinematography reflects this also. It doesn’t move unless it absolutely has to and while it’s not always easy on the eyes to absorb, it still feels hypnotic. The League members (and even minor characters like Lois and Silas) are finally given depth and layers to their characters regarding their positioning in the world and their upbringing after the aftermath of Superman’s death with Ben Affleck, Jason Momoa and Ezra Miller getting extensive redemption to their characters arcs while Ray Fisher once again steals the spotlight with a mesmerizing performance. Production quality was a lot higher than anticipated, it kept and maintained a brisk pace to keep everything leveled, there’s actual attempts at installing tension and urgency into the matter, action sequences are twice as compelling and innovative and Zack’s direction feels....meditative. Sure, mock the man all you want but you can’t deny now that the man genuinely had a a vision for these characters and where he wanted the story to go. HBO Max review: Great TV and theatrical movies, but not the best streaming value
New Post has been published on https://appradab.com/hbo-max-review-great-tv-and-theatrical-movies-but-not-the-best-streaming-value/
HBO Max review: Great TV and theatrical movies, but not the best streaming value
Sarah Tew/CNET
HBO Max, HBO’s entry into the streaming wars, is a slick app chock-full of popular TV shows and movies. It’s got HBO’s entire catalog, along with favorites such as Friends, Rick and Morty, Sesame Street, the Lord of the Rings movies and almost every Studio Ghibli film. It’s also the only service to debut first-run movies, including in 2021 Godzilla vs. Kong, Dune and Matrix 4, the same day they’re available in theaters for no extra charge. And HBO Max has a solid streaming collection for children too, with the ability to control ratings on kids’ profiles better than most other services.
Like
Large, varied content catalog that includes all of HBO
New theatrical releases from Warner Bros. Studios
Simple, easy-to-navigate interface
Lots of children’s shows and customizable rating settings
Don’t Like
High price
Few original series beyond standard HBO
Can’t import watch history or personalized recommendations
If you already subscribe to HBO, HBO Max is a no-brainer upgrade that gives you a shiny new interface and loads more content for the same $15 per month. But if you’re a brand-new subscriber, that price is at the high end — especially if you already pay for Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus or all of the above.
At launch HBO Max lacked compatibility with the popular Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices and 4K HDR streaming, but now apps for Roku and Amazon are now easily available and the 2021 Warner Bros. theatrical slate is premiering on the platform in 4K HDR (as are other titles, such as Zack Snyder’s Justice League).
Read more: Everything you need to know about HBO Max
Aside from HBO’s original series, the Max slate of exclusives remains relatively thin, especially with the delay of the highly anticipated Friends reunion special and no breakout hit such as Disney Plus’ The Mandalorian and WandaVision. That shortcoming will likely change over time, but for now, it remains the service’s biggest disadvantage.
If you’re a big fan of HBO, Elmo or Friends, or are simply running out of good stuff to watch during lockdown, HBO Max is probably worth your money. But if you’re looking to save money on streaming, its high monthly fee makes it easier to cut than many of its tough competitors.

HBO Max costs $15 a month, the same as HBO’s traditional channel when you get it through most pay-TV providers. At some point HBO says the service will expand to include another tier that includes advertising. We don’t know anything about when that would happen or what it would look like, but it would likely be cheaper, or even free.
Some people who already have a regular HBO subscription or HBO Now will get Max for no extra cost — but not everyone. It’s confusing, but you can check out our full HBO Max FAQ for more information on how it all works.

Despite the large catalog of movies and shows, HBO Max is at the expensive end of streaming services — Netflix’s basic plan costs $9 a month, Hulu’s plan with ads is $6 a month and Disney Plus costs $7 a month (soon to be $8 per month). Lots of people I know share account access with friends or family members and HBO Max executive Tony Goncalves told CNET that it will take a “fairly balanced approach” to this issue.
With HBO Max you can have up to three simultaneous streams going at the same time. Plus, the addition of up to five user profiles, a feature not available on the HBO Now or HBO Go apps, makes it easier to share an account.
HBO Max is available on Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Apple TV). It’s also on gear that runs Google’s Android operating system for phones and tablets, as well as Android TV devices, Chromebooks, Google Chromecast and Chromecast built-in devices like Vizio TVs. Xbox and PlayStation consoles and recent Samsung smart TVs are also on board. As mentioned, Amazon Fire TV and Roku apps are now available.
A strong stable of shows and movies
HBO Max’s biggest strength is its large, varied TV and movie catalog, with content for adults and kids. At launch, it had 10,000 hours of content to stream, including everything on HBO, plus a selection of high-profile TV shows like Friends, The Big Bang Theory, Rick and Morty and South Park.
HBO Max currently has just a handful Max Originals and the biggest are probably the romantic series Love Life starring Anna Kendrick and dark comedy The Flight Attendant starring Kaley Cuoco. Even a year after launch, nothing has stuck out or made the same pop-culture impact as Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit or Disney Plus’s WandaVision. And unlike Netflix, it will typically drop its originals once per week, the way regular cable HBO does. A number of originals — including the Friends reunion special, a spinoff of The Suicide Squad with John Cena called Peacemaker, a reboot of Gossip Girl and a revival of Sex and the City — are among the many titles in the works, so there should be more to choose from later in the year or in early 2022.
HBO Max has six original series at launch — but the highly anticipated Friends reunion special has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In the meantime, there are lots of movies, some new and many older. HBO Max has the full sets of The Matrix and The Lord of the Rings trilogies (though only two of The Hobbits), DC movies like Joker and Wonder Woman, classic films like The Wizard of Oz and Casablanca, and newer hits like A Star is Born and Crazy Rich Asians. Not to mention almost the entire catalog of Studio Ghibli anime films that have never been released for streaming in the US before. And if you’ve been clamoring for more of 2017’s Justice League, HBO Max will be the home of director Zach Snyder’s cut on March 18.
Though HBO is known for its adult content, Max has a lot to offer kids too, including new Looney Tunes cartoons and Sesame Street episodes, and the Cartoon Network catalog. It’s also home to Doctor Who and the Lego movies.
Parental controls are robust. You can customize kids’ profiles to decide which rating levels they can access, and create a passcode that locks them into their account, so they can’t jump over to their parents’ to watch anything inappropriate. (Your kid might be savvy enough to figure that passcode out, but it’s something.)
Studio Ghibli films are available to stream in the US for the first time on the platform.

A visually appealing interface…
Scrolling through HBO Max is similar to the experience on Netflix, Hulu and other streaming services. When you open your profile, you’ll find Continue Watching and My List at the top of the page, followed by topics like Featured Series, Featured Movies and HBO Series: Editors’ Picks.
I like the look of the menus better than many other streaming services. It has a dark purple and black theme that allows the text and images to pop, and shows fewer tiles on the screen at once with more breaks between them, to give your eye a rest. One downside, however, is that it can be tough to figure out at first what text is highlighted in the menus so you can make selections.
In the middle of the page you’ll see a mini hub where you can access movies and shows from each of its properties: HBO, DC, Sesame Workshop, Turner Classic Movies, Studio Ghibli, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, CrunchyRoll and Looney Tunes. It looks kind of like Disney Plus’s hub at the top of its page, but with less familiar names than Disney’s Star Wars and Marvel.
The HBO Max mini hub, where you can access content from different networks and studios.

You’ll also find curated collections of movies around a theme sprinkled through your homepage, like rom-com favorites and blockbuster franchises. Hit Browse at the top left corner and you’ll have the option to search by categories such as Series, Movies, Originals, Just Added, Last Chance and Coming Soon, along with genres like Action, Comedy, Crime and Documentaries. You’ll also find the mini hubs in this panel, too.
Unlike on Netflix, you can easily see what’s coming and going on the platform and watch accordingly. Mobile downloads are also available, and the app’s format is largely the same across TVs, phones and tablets.
When it comes to searching, HBO Max lets you use abbreviations (like “GOT” instead of “Game of Thrones”). On my Apple TV, voice search worked pretty well — when I said, “Watch Rick and Morty,” HBO Max opened the series landing page, giving me the option to choose which episode I want. After starting an episode of Game of Thrones and closing out, when I said, “Watch GOT,” it jumped me back into the episode where I had left off. When I said, “Watch Jaws,” the Apple TV opened all of the different options across other streaming platforms at the bottom of the screen as well.
Selecting a show will take you to its landing page, where you can find every episode available in a clean format, and have the ability to add it to your list. When you start a show, the rating appears in the upper left corner.
…but human recommendations are still MIA
One of HBO Max’s promises was that instead of solely using a recommendation engine to surface new content for users, it would also have curated content from celebrities, to bring a more human touch. These recommendations are still not available, however. It does curate content in ways that can be helpful — for example, highlighting the episodes of Friends that track Ross and Rachel’s relationship so you don’t have to go digging for them.
You’ll find every HBO show on HBO Max — but you can’t yet stream them in 4K HDR.

Should you get HBO Max?
If you already subscribe to HBO Now (or, you know, have someone else’s login), the automatic free upgrade to HBO Now is a no-brainer — it’s lots more content for the same monthly price. Plus, you can make your own profiles now, which you couldn’t do on HBO Go or HBO Now.
For brand-new subscribers, HBO Max is at the pricey end of the streaming service spectrum. But if you have $15 a month to burn and want to binge Friends, Game of Thrones or all of the Studio Ghibli movies, you’ll have plenty to choose from.
Here’s what HBO Max looks like on TVs, phones and tablets

1.    Hi, A! Can you make a Conner x Abused!witch reader please? Where reader is abused by her whole family, because while she is a good person her family aren't? Can you also make the reader fall in love with Conner and the feeling is mutual? By the way, love your imagines.
2.    Can you write something where batsis has a stalker and it starts off cute but gets more dangerous?
3.    Can you write something where Tim gets really hurt while patrolling with Jason and he has to save him. Can you write it with some angst please.
4.    could you please write about Atlantean Batmom, who's maybe Arthur’s sister, and meets Bruce through him? 8.       Red Hood get thrown through the window of your local Book store and list three good reads for you before he’s up on his feet again guns blazing.
9.   Love your oldest batsis character! Could you do maybe one where is a good singer/musician and she sings them lullaby’s when they are hurt and around the house and in the shower?
10.   May I request a oneshot please, where Jon and Dami befriend a shapeshifter/reader, who's either their age or a year younger, and none of the Justice League (including Bats and Super) know about them. So it's either the Justice League finding out about them or stupid pranks (like identical Damian’s) that they pull on the Justice League?
11.   Hello! I was wondering if you could maybe do a second post to the bat mom killing the joker fic? I would love to see Bruce's and the rest of the family's reaction to that. That would be awesome!
12.   Can I request where Batsis/reader has terrible insomnia, so she only gets probably an hour a sleep every day or something, and she is always up walking around the manor at odd hours of the night. She hides it from the Batfam with makeup and such. And it's basically the Batfam finding out about Batsis's terrible insomnia. Thank you!
13.   hello! i still hope your requests are still open as i wanted to send in something! could you do a Jason Todd imagine where he and the reader have a meet-cute in the library and he develops a huge crush? he talks about her constantly to Roy to the point he gets frustrated and drags him to her, only to find out it's his younger sister (or if you prefer close friend)
14.   Could you do a little sister au where bat!sis wants to join her brothers and father on patrol and follows them around all day in attempt to get them to agree to let her go and eventually Bruce agrees to take her for a few minutes in her own adorable little suit and it's just super fluffy? Sorry this is long and if that's confusing. I love you're writing and thank you so much
15.   Lil Sis Au. w/ reader watches and imitates older sibling when they spar/fight??
16.   I saw requests were open and I was wondering if you could write being a single mom and falling in love with single dad Roy please and thank you
17.   I wish you would write a fic where sick jay is cared for by his loving fam and reader
18.   Hello! Could you possibly do a Batmom! Reader who's like really short. Like shorter than Damian and she has trouble having some of the batboys take her seriously?
19.   So I had a shitty day, maybe a thing where batsis had an anxiety attack, then her biological dad (who is an asshole to her) make her depressed and the batfamily helps her through it
20.   Could you write a wing au with the wings mimicking emotions with Tim Drake please?
21.   For the fantasy au thing with winged people, could I please request Older Damian's SO's feathers falling out from stress and him trying to help her?
22.   I'm sorry if this is a bad request, you can change the aspects of it if you want to: I am a dragon AU (with any fandom or even not fandom related) but reader is a dragon and a knight has to slay the dragon but the knight can't do it... Thus the knight sneaks out every night because become really good friends in the end of it. Anyway before I end this request I would like to say your writing is amazing and I can't wait to read more from you!! Thanks for reading and keep up the fantastic writing!!
23.   Could you please do something with Bruce helping a batdaughter deal with a bad hit of fear toxin? It could be as sweet or angsty as you like, whatever you feel like doing!
24.   Hi!! Can I request an imagine Dick and batsis (reader) are in the same school event/gym class and it's a sparring section and they laugh it all off, and have to deal with elementary level self defense class, maybe fording themselves to lose to dummies and then when they can finally spar each other they go all out? And the class goes crazy loving it? Also:: can you tag @batty4dc
25.   Hiiii I would like to request a fiction with jason, something like the reader can control the four elements and those are represented by the bat-boys (dick-water/ jason-fire / Tim-air / Damian- earth). The reader is obviously more interested in the fire element so jason. I really like something with some fluff but also passionate (like light smut if you do that). U don't know if the request is clear but thank you.
26.   Older Batsis coming home from a rough night on patrol to find one of her brothers sitting on her couch? Whichever brother you prefer!
27.   Can I request Terry McGinnis w/ a telepathic/telekinetic s/o and they flirt a lot during patrol so Bruce always scolds them
28.   Is there any way you can do a part 2 to the Damian Wayne x reader My Mate?
29.   Can request jason flirting with a telepathic/telekinetic reader
30.   Hi! I was wondering if you could do this request for me? I want a Damian x Reader, Please! I was thinking that the plot could be that Damian used the bully the reader because maybe she was deaf or something like that. The bullying gets so bad that the reader switches school, and Damian feels so guilty. Years later, Damian sees the reader once more, and he tries to make amends. Angst at first then maybe something sweet? Thank you! Love your writing!
31.   Batboy of your choice dating a single mom
32.   Can you write an hc were Batmom has a daughter that's in her teens that clings to Batmom and the boys think she's an attention hog they wind up in a fit and she starts crying and Batmom comes in and stops them and they find out she has awake terrors and that's why she's clingy to mom because she's scares so they start helping with her and now she's clingy with all of them. Thank you for your time, bye.

35.   Ok, how about this. Damian with a neko reader. He would definitely go crazy and want to pet her ears. Please and thank you
36.   How would the JL and Batfam react if they found out that Batmom outsmarted the Joker on her own. Like he kidnaps her because hey Bruce, you're rich af, and instead of crying and praying for rescue she scolds Joker and he's like, wow ok, I see your point. He doesn't immediately become a grade A citizen or something but, you get the gist. Thx love!

And now all I can think is batsis having some recital or fucking graduation or something, and half the fucking crowd is there for her. There's villains, anti-hero's, super-heroes. Their all there for her omg.
42.   Oh oh oh can you write Jason being in love with reader who's close friends with all the batboys and she's especially close to dick and Jason gets jealous and upset and super insecure because he thinks she likes dick when in reality she's in love with Jason (you can do the ending anyway you want)
