[ FURTHER ]
Victor and Logan >:3c
Dealer’s choice on who is carrying.
[ FURTHER ]: sender, during an increasingly passionate make-out session with the receiver, suddenly takes them in their arms and carries them towards the bedroom to continue their evening in private.
They had no excuse for being like this. They didn’t need one. There was nothing to do in this place except for each other, so, hey. Why not indulge in that? And indulge they would. Right now.
The hallway is abandoned aside from them. Nobody to interrupt.
Victor always kisses him like he’s starving. Like Logan is the air he breathes. It’s dizzying and addicting and Logan can never get enough. He’s got his hands gripping at Victor’s short, silky hair, forcing him to continue the kiss - as if he’d pull away on his own. As if in response to the ridiculous notion, Vic digs his claws into Logan’s hips. Logan snarls. Victor purrs. Too long - they'd been apart too long. The mission had taken a whole damn week, and they’d been sent to different zones, and that was too long.
“Fuck, Vic.” He mumbles against those demanding lips. His hands slide across Vic’s broad shoulders, to his neck, to the sides of his face. His thumbs run along those high cheekbones and his fingers scritch into Victor’s sideburns. He pulls Victor’s face closer still, and Victor responds with a heady groan and tugs at his hips again.
“Missed you.” Vic says, dragging his mouth off Logan’s to scrape teeth against his jaw, his pulse, his jugular. Logan has never loved his fangs more than when they’re buried in his neck. He can feel skin break and blood drip and he damn near whines when Victor’s jaw clamps down harder. “Missed you so much, babe.”
“Yeah?” Logan manages, splaying his fingers across Victor’s chest. “How much?” Without prying his teeth from Logan’s neck, Victor dips and grabs him under the thighs and lifts. The noise Logan makes is halfway between a gasp and a growl.
“Want me to show you?” He can hear the smirk in Vic’s voice.
“Yes.” Logan tugs at the collar of Vic’s uniform. Vic bites harder and digs his claws into Logan’s thighs and Logan arches. “Please.” Vic purrs, low and deep and rumbling.
“Mind your manners, Logan.”
“Fuck you.” It’s a lot harder to sound stubborn like this. Easy for Victor to look smug.
“That's the plan.” Logan can feel him grinning even as his mouth moves to the soft skin of Logan’s throat. Logan’s breath catches. “So long as you keep askin’ nice.” Logan said nothing, only groaned as he felt his back press against the wall. Victor’s mouth is hot and wet and insistent and it makes everything else feel less important. Being apart didn’t matter. The mission didn’t matter. All that mattered was that they were together now. All that mattered was Victor. Logan’s claws extend, tearing through the skin of his hands. It’s a rough pain, jagged, but it’s worth it. The way Vic hisses when Logan drags his claws down his back is priceless. Then the wall behind him is gone. Vic’s arms, sturdy and strong, keep him in place, and they’re moving. Not too far, but far enough that Logan has enough time to think to glance over his shoulder and actually do so. (That takes a lot longer when Victor’s found the pulse on the other side of his neck.) Oh. That’s the bunk door.
Perfect.
Logan’s had enough practice that he only fumbles a little when feeling for the door handle. He gets it open and Vic kicks it closed behind them. The cot creaks its protest when they land on it, but neither man pays it any mind. They’ve got better things to think about. Victor pushes Logan’s shirt up, rucking the fabric as high as it would go, and sinks his teeth deep into the muscle of Logan’s chest. Logan moans, but doesn’t miss Vic’s pleased purring.
“Welcome home, babe.”
Yeah, it’s good to be home.

something I really like about cql/mdzs that’s 100% obvious but vanishingly rare in (mainstream) american media related to war is how much more devastating being attacked and occupied by a military force is compared to fighting back against that attack. I mean, duh. the wen conquest and domination of the other sects, and more specifically the LP massacre, is is the source of deep, often unhealing mental and emotional wounds that followed the characters for years. fighting back may have been frightening, and the techniques wwx himself used may have been frowned upon and they may have damaged him, but it was only because he wad tortured and thrown into a cursed corpse pit to die in the first place that he used those techniques. and he had no lingering regrets about  what he actually did with them. resistance to conquest was necessary and reclaiming their home and their land was unquestionably a victory. I don’t think any of them wanted to fight in a war or kill anyone as teenagers, but it was being attacked that kept them up at night, not fighting back against it.

Fuck the military entertainment complex.
But I'm watching Top Gun: Maverick, and it's pretty fun.
It's going to be what I expect, but I'm watching it illegally, so I think that balances out.

Jsyk DC is fairly pro israel and pro military and probably not a company you want to support.
I'm assuming you mean DC Comics. Lucky for me, I have never supported DC in my life, financially, promotionally, mentally, emotionally or spiritually. In fact, Ive spent most of my time telling everyone who will listen to never to read anything about the characters this piece of shit company is holding hostage that's been published by said company and read fanfic about them instead. Piracy is financial compensation for twenty years of severe emotional damage, and I have spent most of it eviscerating almost everything they've ever put out. Although that might be just being a comic book fan and a queer woman of colour at that.
The thought of you telling me that DC is part of military entertainment complex, something I've been shouting into the white void of fandom for nearly as long as I've been in it is cracking me up. How anyone could read their comics and not understand that they're a fundamentally conservative, racist, pro-establishment entity that hates women and minorities is beyond me. If you think people's hyperfixations and special interests are based on support and endorsement instead of emotional dysregulation you are profoundly mistaken. And just as mistaken to think being fandom translates to financial support. If it did, those of us in the Global South would either go broke or not be fans of anything produced in the English language.

I'm writing a sci-fi story about a space freight hauler with a heavy focus on the economy. Any tips for writing a complex fictional economy and all of it's intricacies and inner-workings?
Constructing a Fictional Economy
The economy is all about: How is the limited financial/natural/human resources distributed between various parties?
So, the most important question you should be able to answer are:
Who are the "have"s and "have-not"s?
What's "expensive" and what's "commonplace"?
What are the rules(laws, taxes, trade) of this game?
Building Blocks of the Economic System
Type of economic system. Even if your fictional economy is made up, it will need to be based on the existing systems: capitalism, socialism, mixed economies, feudalism, barter, etc.
Currency and monetary systems: the currency can be in various forms like gols, silver, digital, fiat, other commodity, etc. Estalish a central bank (or equivalent) responsible for monetary policy
Exchange rates
Inflation
Domestic and International trade: Trade policies and treaties. Transportation, communication infrastructure
Labour and employment: labor force trends, employment opportunities, workers rights. Consider the role of education, training and skill development in the labour market
The government's role: Fiscal policy(tax rate?), market regulation, social welfare, pension plans, etc.
Impact of Technology: Examine the role of tech in productivity, automation and job displacement. How does the digital economy and e-commerce shape the world?
Economic history: what are some historical events (like The Great Depresion and the 2008 Housing Crisis) that left lasting impacts on the psychologial workings of your economy?
For a comprehensive economic system, you'll need to consider ideally all of the above. However, depending on the characteristics of your country, you will need to concentrate on some more than others. i.e. a country heavily dependent on exports will care a lot more about the exchange rate and how to keep it stable.
For Fantasy Economies:
Social status: The haves and have-nots in fantasy world will be much more clear-cut, often with little room for movement up and down the socioeconoic ladder.
Scaricity. What is a resource that is hard to come by?
Geographical Characteristics: The setting will play a huge role in deciding what your country has and doesn't. Mountains and seas will determine time and cost of trade. Climatic conditions will determine shelf life of food items.
Impact of Magic: Magic can determine the cost of obtaining certain commodities. How does teleportation magic impact trade?
For Sci-Fi Economies Related to Space Exploration
Thankfully, space exploitation is slowly becoming a reality, we can now identify the factors we'll need to consider:
Economics of space waste: How large is the space waste problem? Is it recycled or resold? Any regulations about disposing of space wste?
New Energy: Is there any new clean energy? Is energy scarce?
Investors: Who/which country are the giants of space travel?
Ownership: Who "owns" space? How do you draw the borders between territories in space?
New class of workers: How are people working in space treated? Skilled or unskilled?
Relationship between space and Earth: Are resources mined in space and brought back to Earth, or is there a plan to live in space permanently?
What are some new professional niches?
What's the military implication of space exploitation? What new weapons, networks and spying techniques?
Also, consider:
Impact of space travel on food security, gender equality, racial equality
Impact of space travel on education.
Impact of space travel on the entertainment industry. Perhaps shooting monters in space isn't just a virtual thing anymore?
What are some indsutries that decline due to space travel?
I suggest reading up the Economic Impact Report from NASA, and futuristic reports from business consultants like McKinsey.
If space exploitation is a relatiely new technology that not everyone has access to, the workings of the economy will be skewed to benefit large investors and tech giants. As more regulations appear and prices go down, it will be further be integrated into the various industries, eventually becoming a new style of living.

Something I greatly appreciate in Hazbin Hotel is how western facist and imperialist coded the angels are.
Tumblr media
You have Heaven, a place only for “good” people and are conventionally seen as “the good guys”. These “good guys” regularly launch attacks with significantly stronger weaponry on Hell, a place conventionally seen as “the bad guys”. But there are countless parts in the show where we see the angels and demons not being all that different. There are probably several posts of how Hazbin characters in Hell (and some Helluva Boss characters) mirror those in Heaven, so I won’t get too much into it here. But when you boil down to it, the biggest differences between Heaven and Hell are each place’s living conditions, and how they are typically viewed.
Tumblr media
Next you have the Exorcists, a reflection of the military. Adam, patriarchal misogynist who leads the Extermination, and feels comfortable enough to say that he finds the carnage fun. Then we have Lute’s zealous faith in Heaven always being right and her unfettered disgust towards anyone in Hell. We find all of these traits in imperialism and facism: the dehumanization of an entire country’s worth of people to the point where killing them off is seen not just necessary, but entertaining, and the delusional righteousness in the impeccability of the facist state.
Tumblr media
Not to mention the hypocrisy of killing a thousand of “the enemy” is something to laugh about and celebrate, but the minute one of your own gets killed? By the so-called “enemy”? Even if it’s in self-defense? Suddenly it’s a serious problem that has to be met with swift action.
Tumblr media
And when you have the audacity to not want to commit these acts of violence anymore, like Vaggie? You’re discarded as a traitor to your country and your people, and lumped in with “the enemy”.
Tumblr media
And Sera, like politicians feigning compassion, claim “I made this decision with a heavy heart”, and “there was no other option”. But that doesn’t change that she’s the one who gave the green light to all of this. As a friend of mine and fellow hazbin fan said, the Extermination is state-sanctioned abuse.
Tumblr media
And finally, we have Emily, who never knew any world other than Heaven, and who’s only knowledge of Hell came from sources from Heaven. She was the only one who genuinely wanted to hear Charlie and Vaggie out, who actually questioned why Angel Dust couldn’t be redeemed if he fit all of Adam’s criteria for getting into Heaven. And when she learned of the Extermination’s existence, she joined Charlie in calling out the Angels on their bullshit. Emily’s actions in episode 6 reiterate that this is not a “complex” issue, but one of basic compassion and decency.
Tumblr media
Also I wanna note the look on Adam and Lute’s faces when Charlie and Emily sing “if angels can do whatever and remain in the sky.” They’re fucking angry. Because is there anything more infuriating to a facist than getting called out on their hypocrisy and double standard?

- Bucky Barnes
that was the best night of my life.
i tried to keep feelings out of this. i really did.
Pronouns: They/Them/Theirs, GN!Reader
Tumblr media
The sizzling of bacon sounded throughout the room, filling the kitchen and living room with the mouth-watering smell of food. You carefully scooped a fried egg up from the pan and set it down on one of the plates before reaching over with your free hand to turn the radio dial. Jazz music flowed from the radio and covered the sound of cooking, as well as the creak of your bedroom door opening and closing.
"Smells good." A voice rumbled and cold metal grazed your forearm, delicately as always. A smile formed on your lips and you switched the stove off, sliding the last strips of bacon onto the plate before turning around and gazing into warm blue eyes. A sweet smile stretched out on his face, faintly nervous and shy. You'd been the first person he'd gotten with in many years, or so he'd told you that night before. He spoke briefly of his time in the military and how it'd affected him, and when a pained look passed over his features, you opted to change the topic and relieve him of those memories.
"Only the best for my favorite neighbor." You cooed and slipped your arms around his broad shoulders. His own muscular arms wrapped loosely around your waist and his eyes glittered with amusement.
James Barnes, or Bucky as he preferred to be called, had been the most recent addition to your apartment complex. He'd moved months prior into the apartment just three doors down, and boy had he been a sight for sore eyes. As much as you loved your elderly neighbors with their endless supply of stories and gossip, a younger and much fresher face had been exactly what you needed to see when coming home from long work days.
You didn't see much of him the first couple of weeks, only hearing the muffled sound of his footsteps leading up to his apartment until you ran into him in the hallway one day while trying to haul one too many grocery bags up the stairs. He'd regarded you with a stiff nod and eyed the grocery bags digging into your arms before asking if you needed any help and easily taking all the bags into his hands without even straining a muscle.
From then on, you bumped into him more frequently, almost as if he lingered near the entrance of the complex or by the stairs in hopes of catching you. The first few days he'd been quiet, keeping his typically quick pace down and only sneaking minimum glances in your direction. On the fourth day, you began telling him about your day, about customers and coworkers, and any piece of work gossip that seemed worth sharing with the brooding man. By the sixth day, he started commenting, making jokes, and sharing his opinion on the drama you shared.
A friendship blossomed fairly quickly, and the day he smiled and laughed for the first time had been all you could think about the following week. You grew to learn there was a sassy sweetheart underneath his serious and stern exterior, and that his laugh sounded like a kid experiencing joy for the first time. He enjoyed making himself useful whether it was tagging along on grocery trips, becoming your handyman when something went wrong in the apartment, or simply keeping you entertained with all the facts he happened to know about the 1900s. Sometimes it almost felt as if he'd been alive during those times with how he spoke of stories he claimed to have heard from an old friend named Steve.
"I had a good time," Bucky murmured and bumped his nose against yours sweetly, eyes crinkling when his smile widened. "That was the best night of my life."
"Oh, please," You scoffed, feeling your cheeks light ablaze at his genuine words and trying to turn away but his arms pulled you back into his chest. A laugh rumbled in his chest and he pushed his face into your neck, the stubble on his cheeks rubbing lightly against your skin as he peppered you with soft kisses. His hold on you tightened briefly and when he took in a deep breath as he leaned back, your bashfulness faded into concern. His hands moved to cup your hips and his gaze flickered around the tiled floor before lifting to make eye contact. The tips of his ears turned a soft pink but the expression on his face remained unreadable.
"I.. I tried to keep feelings out of this. I really did. I'm not the ideal partner and I'm still working on some things but... I was wondering if you'd like to go on a date with me sometime?"
