Their reaction when you give them your number
Some headcanons!
SFW GN Reader Chars: Ace, Robin, Marco, Kid, Killer, Buggy
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ace
He’s been flirting back and forth with you the entire time you’ve been working. He came in for his brother's friend's birthday but has spent more time talking to you and honestly? You didn’t mind. He was cute, funny, and very sweet. His flirting was a little awkward at times, you guessed as handsome as he was he had some self-esteem issues. But the more you talked with Ace the more his confidence grew.
It was late and pretty quiet, he chatted to you about his brothers as he leaned on the bar, you cleaned and got ready to close, just enjoying his voice, and how genuinely caring he seemed. It was then you grabbed a piece of paper, wrote your number on it, and slid it across the bar.
“What’s that? How much of a tab did me and those idiots wrack up…” He hummed and flipped the paper over, his eyes widened and his eyebrows shot up when he saw the number. You couldn't help the sly smile on your face when you could see the blush on his cheeks, even in the low light of the bar.
You sure hoped he’d call. He chuckled and put it in his pocket, trying to act cool about it even with his cheeks on fire.
Tumblr media
Robin
She had to have been the most beautiful woman to have ever set foot in your store. The way she walked around in her summer dress, the fabric flowy in the breeze, the way she tucked her hair behind her ear as she picked up a huge heavy book, her eyes scanning each with a smile on her lips.
You felt entranced and intimidated by her in equal measure. Each movement was poised and elegant. She glanced over her shoulder and saw you staring at her, the sparkle of mischief in her eyes reached the sly smirk.
Grabbing an arm full of books so big you could murder a man with she set them down on the counter and you had to try and remember how to talk again. “Is it okay if I buy a coffee and read one of these?” You nodded, she could have robbed you and you would have thanked her.
As she paid for her books you quickly wrote your number on a note and slipped it in one of the books as you placed it in a bag for her. She bought her coffee and books and sat down on one of the big armchairs. You gripped the edge of the counter when you noticed she went right for the book you’d put your number in.
Robin saw the piece of paper and shot you the most wickedly sinful smile you felt your heart would explode.
Tumblr media
Marco
He came into your work at least once a week, maybe more, and his order was always the same. He was a creature of habit but never boring. You always stood and chatted with him between his order and bringing it to him. He was polite and handsome and always had this lazy smile on his face that you found yourself looking forward to seeing.
Marco always had a kind word for you, would comment on your hair, how you wore it that day, how your new shirt was nice and suited you. He was full of compliments but he never came across as creepy. You adored his voice, his laugh, and how he always had a crazy story about his friends.
You felt like you knew them.
One night he came in with some of those said friends, a rowdy bunch but just like him, polite and chatty. You set down the tray of drinks and Marco leaned back in his seat taking his. “They make the best drinks, it’s why I come back all the time,” Marco said before sipping his drink.
“Yeah, right, that's the only reason.” Thatch teased and got a nudge. You didn’t know what the man meant by that but Marco met your eye and gave you a sheepish smile.
The group all started to leave and the man with the big hair, Thatch, came over to pay the bill. “Hey, I think you and Marco might have a sweet spot for one another, sorry if I’m misreading that but… maybe you could give me your number, to pass on?”
You blinked, processing what he was asking before grabbing a coaster and writing it on. Thatch paid and practically ran to Marco and brandished the coaster at him. “Got you a present!” Marco looked at it, then back at you. You watched as the smirk on his face grew and he placed it in his pocket.
Tumblr media
Kidd
His entire group was loud but you didn’t mind. You were used to his sort coming to this bar, parking their motorbikes outside, and stomping into the bar with their heavy boots and loud voices. They’d been polite enough to you though.
Serving them rounds of beers when they raised their hands, always paying. You knew this group pretty well by now. The red-haired man who was the leader spoke with you casually. He leaned on the bar and laughed at jokes and comments yelled over the room at him.
“Got anything fun planned this weekend?” You asked as you handed him another beer, he took a swig before thanking you. You could see him thinking over your question, you always had a feeling he and his gang got up to all sorts. Maybe he was debating on what he could tell you.
“Nah, unless you wanna finally fess up to being into me an’ wanna hang.” He said, the smirk on his painted lips, showing his teeth. He was cocky and overconfident but God daaamn did it work.
“What makes you think I’m into you?” You asked, well, he was right but still.
“Babe, I just know, so gunna give me your number or do I have to beg?” Kidd asked with a gleam in his eyes. You loved feeling you had all the power in this situation. You met his eye before ripping off a piece of a poster hanging up behind you and putting your number on.
“You don’t have to beg, this time.” You chuckled and handed it to him. He laughed loudly and put it in his jacket pocket, looking smug.
He’d won.
Tumblr media
Killer
Killer came into your shop every other week, always for something for his bike. It could be a check-up, a new decal, a sticker or just to get someone to clean it. He was a man of few words but he was pleasant to be around. His small talk was never dull or seemed forced, he enjoyed hearing your stories and learning about you.
Sometimes you even got to hear his voice, get to learn about his life; How he was part of a group who drove around together. You were very intrigued by him. The way he’d take off his helmet and all that blonde hair would come tumbling out, you could have sworn the world become slow motion whenever he did that.
He was gorgeous.
“Going for a drive this weekend?” You asked when he set down his helmet, one of the mechanics working on his bike already. He shook his head “Just thought I heard something when I’d started her,” he said and stared across the room.
Killer didn’t leave, didn’t go for a walk, instead while his bike was being checked he simply stood and talked to you. It was nice, he was a good guy. The mechanic came in and handed you the paperwork. You looked it over.
“Good news! The small issue has been fixed and since your in here all the time we won’t charge the normal rate,” your heart was beating when you sneakily wrote your number on the paper and handed it to him.
He said his goodbyes and walked away, reading over the paper before he noticed the number, he turned and looked at you. Wordlessly, effortlessly cool he just gave you the thumbs up and grinned.
Tumblr media
Buggy
He was a strange guy, how he seemed to think he was so slick every time he came in. Acting like this wasn’t the 18th time he’d been in this week. He was strange, sure, but he was cute and no one had made you laugh so much. Sometimes you didn’t think he meant to be funny on purpose, his charm was just a silly guy.
But as goofy as he came across he was still unreasonably handsome and had his own brand of charisma that had you so taken with him. He came in on his way back from work and asked for his regular order, which you knew by heart now.
He would go on about his day, complaining about someone called Shanks that he worked with. The way he told his stories was so over the top and so hilarious that you couldn’t help but stand there chuckling and hanging on to his every word.
“So yeah, that dickhead set me back like 20 minutes.” He mumbled and sipped his shake, eating a few fries “Well, hopefully, your weekend will be better.” you said as you refilled the napkin holder.
“I’ll still be in though, I gotta get my fix.” He said and held up his drink, you weren’t sure if that was all he meant either. “Oh no, I won’t be in, I have the day off.”
He seemed crestfallen at that news, deflating in his seat with a frown. “Ah..” he mumbled as he stuffed more fries into his mouth. “But maybe we can arrange something?” you pulled out a napkin and wrote down your number, setting it next to him.
Buggy had been drinking at that moment, he stared at your number and snorted, his shake and the straw shooting to the back of his throat, causing him to splutter, some of his drink coming out of his nose as he became a flustered mess.
You laughed and watched him grab at handfuls of napkin to clean himself, wheezing as he did so, trying and failing to calm himself down, he croaked out “Sounds great…”

Opposites Do Attract
Gale ‘Buck’ Cleven x Reader
Word Count - 915
Based off of this request - Can I request a Buck x reader, where the reader is very extroverted, maybe even the opposite of Buck, but they fit so well together. They could be going out for drinks or her meeting the boys or something similar.
Tumblr media
Anyone who met Buck Cleven and Y/N Y/L/N at Thorpe Abbotts shared a common thought - they were an unexpected pair. It had become all too common for the newcomers to assume Y/N was with Bucky with her loud, bubbly energy and it almost seemed brash for cool, calm, collected Buck to be with Ken Lemmons loudest female mechanic but damn, did it work. They had met one morning as Y/N was going over some last minute inspections on Buck’s plane for his daily missions.
“How’s she looking, ma’am?” his voice startled her, her head hitting against the plane’s metal.
“Good lord!” she exclaimed. “Give a girl a warning before you sneak up like that.” she complained, rubbing the back of her head. She fully stepped from under the plane's wings and caught a glimpse of the man behind the voice. Her eyes widened once she noticed a Major was standing before her awaiting her response. “Major Cleven” right hand flying to her forehead to salute “Plane is all ready, sir.”
“No need to salute, ma’am. Thank you for taking such good care of her. I put her through hell.” Buck spoke as he opened the plane’s hatch to stow his bag and she couldn’t stop the scoff that left her mouth. “I think that’s an understatement, sir.”
Most of the guys probably wouldn’t have taken this kind of attitude, per se, from a mechanic - let alone a woman- but he couldn’t care less. The sight of her almost made him want to laugh. There she stood, hip jutted out and hand secured atop it, eyes squinting up at him most likely awaiting some sort of angry remark but all he could do was shuffle the toothpick around in his mouth and nod in agreement. “I’ll be waiting to fix her right back up for ya later, Major.”
The couple had been sealed since. When Buck finally caved and spilled the beans about a woman to Bucky, he thought John was going to have a medical emergency right there in the mess hall.
“You have a woman and you just now think to bring it up?” Bucky said, astonished. “I didn’t want you to scare her away.” Buck quipped. If he only knew.
“Well.” Bucky clapped his hand on his friend's shoulder. “When am I gonna meet this mysterious young lady?” he urged, squeezing his hands down before an idea crossed his mind “Bring her to the pub tomorrow!”
______
If Buck could have taken a picture of the looks on the boys’ faces when he walked in with Y/N on his arm, he would have framed it and taken it with him on every flight he ventured out on. “Well I’ll be damned, Buck.” Bucky uttered, for once in his life he was almost speechless. Almost.
“I’d suggest you pick your jaw up off the floor, Major. I’d sure hate for you to swallow a bug.” She teased and the entire table erupted in laughter. Buck couldn’t help the small smile that broke out on his own face, a sense of pride soaring through his body. Bucky took a long swig of his drink before retorting. “Seems you’ve got yourself a jokester, Buck.” He nodded. “She’s a little more than that.”
“Wait, ain’t you the girl who works with Lemmons?” Blakely spoke, realization washing over the faces of a few of the men. “Yeah! You’re the girl who fixed my landing gear the other day.” Brady sat up, pointing at the girl standing firm besides Buck.
“You’re welcome by the way.” she waved her hand towards him. “Actually, everyone is welcome. You can thank me for getting you up in the air in the first place. Now I’m getting a drink. Keep the gossip to a minimum while I’m gone, now.” She turned, patting Buck on the chest. “You want something, baby?” looking up at her doe eyed boyfriend. “Just a Coke for me, honey.” She jokingly saluted, walking off towards the bar.
____
Buck had full confidence Y/N would fit in with his crew of men. Whether most of them had realized it before or not, she was the sole reason they were able to make it off the ground in the first place. He couldn’t help but say it almost made his heart swell with pride watching her interact with his friends. “Should I sing?” Bucky’s voice broke through his train of thought, hands tapping against his arm chair. There wasn’t time for him to protest before Y/N jumped up from her place on his lap. “Let’s go, Bucky!” Y/N’s laughed.
He couldn’t explain the feeling that was coursing through his body but as he watched his best friend - more so a brother at this point - and his newfound love sharing a laugh together over the less than perfect singing, he only grew more confident in his relationship. Many would describe Buck Cleven as a many of very little words but if anyone asked about Y/N, his Y/N, he didn’t think there were enough words in the dictionary to explain just how he felt.
Once the song stopped and the singing duo had left the stage, Buck watched as Y/N headed to the bar and Bucky made his way back to him.
“Buck, I gotta say -“ pausing to take a drink of his whisky. “You’ve found yourself a keeper. You two couldn’t be any more opposite but man, does it work.”

Cobalt Eyes and Sweet Smiles
In which a certain shy, quiet WSO catches your attention one night.
Tumblr media
When your pilot friend offered to bring you to the Hard Deck as a guest, you knew their intentions instantly. The other pilots would notice you, notice how you weren't one of them, and try hitting you up.
"Maybe you'll actually meet someone to take home," they said.
You rolled your eyes and went along with it, tired of hearing about how "we gotta find you someone."
It was nice, being offered one's spot at the pool table, being asked if you wanted to play darts or needed a drink. The pilots were quite nice to look at.
But one in particular stood out to you.
He had tucked himself away in the corner of the bar, his cobalt eyes able to observe the room without being noticed.
You noticed him right away. How he tried to weave his long, lean body through the crowd so he didn't bump into anyone. How instead of a beer, he was carrying water and a cup of peanuts. How despite that his shoulders were hunched in an effort to make himself smaller, his biceps strained against the khaki material of his uniform.
You recognized the pins that adorned his uniform. He was a Lieutenant, and a pretty decorated one at that. Clearly that hadn't given him an overblown ego, otherwise he would have spoken to you by now.
He was attractive and you could tell that he didn't realize it. You knew the glasses he wore had been given to him by the navy and were what they referred to as "birth control glasses". But the large wired frames added to his charm.
You couldn't help but stare at him. A smile broke out onto your face when he looked up from brushing the crumbs off his pants, those stunningly blue eyes locking with yours.
His thin lips parted and you could see the realization that you were staring at him in his eyes. You winked, hoping it would wash away any potential doubts he had.
A red flush rose from his neck to his cheeks as he looked away, focusing on the crumbs that were still on top of his pants.
It was adorable.
"Who's that?" You asked the too cocky for his own good pilot who had been trying to strike up a conversation with you since you walked in. Hangover? Hangnail?
"Oh, that's just Bob," he scoffed, "Or as I call him, Baby on Board."
The ice cold glare you gave him stopped his laughs, "He uh, he doesn't say much."
You didn't mind quiet. In fact, you tend to like the quiet ones more as you got older. Perhaps it was because they seemed to balance you out.
Perhaps it was because you learned that it was always the quiet ones who knew how to make you feel the best.
"Who's the girl?" You asked, motioning to the dark haired woman who had sat down next to him. You watched her jerk her head towards you, her eyes briefly making contact with yours. They looked like friends, but you wanted to make sure.
"Oh, that's Phoenix. He's her back seater. So, do you want to watch me play darts?"
"No," was all you said before walking over to Bob.
—--------------------
"Go talk to her," Phoenix whispered, "She's been staring at you all night."
"Probably thinks I'm some cool, elusive guy. Best to not break the illusion," Bob responded before taking a sip of his water.
Phoenix wasn't sure what was so 'elusive' about eating peanuts at a bar, but her friend needed a confidence boost, not a confidence downer.
"You're a catch, and she's interested. She couldn't take her eyes off of you while Rooster sang," She pointed out.
Bob just shrugged as he shook his head.
You were absolutely beautiful. You lit up a room with one smile. From the way the corners of your eyes crinkle to how your nose scrunches up, to the way your smile encapsulates your whole face. Your voice was sweet, loud but not shrill.
You were a dream. And dreams didn't tend to go for quiet wallflowers like him. He learned this years ago and had accepted it. It made him less likely to get his heart broken.
Though he still felt his heart twinge when Hangman came up to you. Bob didn't blame the man, he was just….jealous, as ridiculous as that sounded. Jealous that he couldn't just waltz up and start a conversation.
He had tried in the past and ended up embarrassing himself more than getting someone's number. It was easier to hang in the corner, even if it made his chances of finding someone lower. It was better than getting his hopes dashed.
Not that Bob enjoyed being alone. Honestly, he had hoped that by now, he would have settled down and startef a family. When asked what he wanted to be as a kid, his response was "a dad".
Life just hadn't worked out that way and it was best not to dwell on it. As much as he wished, life wasn't some romantic comedy where his future wife would just waltz into a room and a love song would play while he and her locked eyes for the first time.
Though 'Pretty Woman' was playing when you walked into the Hard Deck.
Phoenix's elbow jabbing his chest broke Bob out of his thoughts.
"Looks like I don't have to convince you to go talk to her," was all she said before getting up to walk away.
Bob was quite confused, until he looked directly ahead.
Oh no.
You were walking straight towards him.
Bob knew he should get up and head straight to the bathroom. Or go to the bar. Something so you wouldn't talk to him and discover he was quiet not because he was some cool figure but because he never fucking knew what to say.
But his legs were frozen in place. All he could do was ensure that he had brushed all the crumbs from the peanuts off his pants.
"Hi! Is this seat taken?" You asked. Bob was now thankful he was still sitting, because your melodic voice paired with that sweet smile would have made him fall to his knees.
It took Bob a few moments to realize that he needed to actually give you a response. You didn't seem to mind, which was surprising. He was used to folks getting huffy, expecting a quick response from him.
Instead, you just gave him that beautiful smile.
"No! U-uh, no, i-its free, ma'am," he managed to get out.
"Glad to know," was all you said before you sat yourself on one of his thighs. You slung an arm around his shoulders, your fingers reaching up the nape of his neck towards his sandy brown locks.
Oh sweet Jesus.
You couldn't help but smirk as you watch his face process what was happening and then proceed to short circuit. He clearly wasn't used to this type of attention, which was an absolute shame.
"Uh…um t-there's a s-spot uh o-over there," He stuttered, avoiding your eyes.
"I know," you leaned in, your breath hot in his ear, "I like this seat better."
Did he and Phoenix actually eject out of their plane in time or did he die that day and was now in heaven?
Maybe she had mistaken him for someone else. Bob kept thinking of scenarios that would explain why you were doing this, besides you actually being interested in him, because someone like you was never interested in someone like him.
For a moment, you worried that you may have been too much. It looked like he was malfunctioning at your attention.
But then you felt a strong arm wrap itself around your waist, securing you in place.
"I-I'm uh…I'm Bob." God, he was so cute. His cheeks had what seemed to be a permanent flush to them.
You giggled as you told him your name, which caused the corners of his mouth to turn upwards.
"It's nice to meet you Bob," your fingers twirled around his sun kissed locks.
"It's n-nice to meet you t-too, ma'am," He mumbled. He honestly didn't know what to do. He was usually the one pretty girls went up to to ask about the relationship status of his other pilots.
"You're so nice, but you don't need to call me ma'am," you giggled.
Somehow, his face turned an even brighter shade of red as he mumbled an apology.
"It's okay, it's quite sweet. And hot, to be honest," you admitted.
Oh.
Bob looked up, his eyes making contact with yours for the first time since you sat on his lap.
Hot was not a word used to describe him. Cute, nice, nerdy, okay, were the adjectives he was used to hearing. Not hot.
"R-really?" His voice was still shaky, though it was the most confident he sounded since he began talking to you.
"Yeah," you giggled, straightening his collar, "So is Bob your call sign or your actual name? I can't tell with some of these."
"Well, my full name is Robert but my call sign is Bob," he found himself becoming more relaxed, despite having to remind himself not to look at your chest that was at eye level.
"Does Bob stand for something?" You asked, genuinely wanting to learn more about him.
He shrugged, "It's a long story." Surely you didn't want to hear him talk, did you?
"Have anything to do with your commendation medals?" You asked. He looked shocked at your knowledge. For a brief moment you were almost offended until you remembered that he honestly thought you were just a civilian.
"Both my dads are in the Navy. I know what a lot of the medals mean. It's also how I know this guy," you motioned to the man clad in a Hawaiian shirt who was leading the crowd through another Jerry Lewis sing-along.
"Does he know anything other than Jerry Lewis?" Bob asked out loud.
"If he's feeling extra deep, he'll play Clocks by Coldplay. Other than that…no, he doesn't."
The two of you exchanged a look before laughing. He had the sweetest laugh you had ever heard.
You rested your head on one of his broad shoulders. He was sitting up a little straighter. The tension in his body had faded. Not all the way, but a bit.
You liked it. You wanted to see more of it, more of him.
Though Bob didn't really suit him. Neither did Robert.
"Can I call you Robby?"
"You can call me whatever you want." Oh, so he could be smooth.
You grinned, "Whatever I want? That's quite open. My Pa always said to never take something open-ended until you made sure there weren't any strings attached."
He shrugged, a small smirk slowly appearing on his handsome face, "Well, I guess there is something I'd want in exchange."
You quirked an eyebrow, "And what would that be, Robby?"
Here goes nothing.
"You can call me whatever you want, as long as I can call you for dinner?" Oh God, that was so cheesy. What was he thinking? Bob didn't blame you if you got up and left right then and-
A pair of soft lips pressed against his cheek, the sweet smell of lavender flooding his nostrils.
Oh your lips were like heaven.
"I'd love that Robby. I'd also love to call you for breakfast," you cooed in his ear.
His large hand gripped the fabric of your dress. You wondered if he could feel your thighs clenching. Not that you didn't want him to know you found him extremely attractive. Quite the opposite in fact.
"Y-you smell really nice," was all he could get out. His head felt fuzzy. You were overwhelming in the best way possible.
"I was just gonna say the same about you," you smiled as the scent of sage filled your senses. You then noticed that his glasses had fallen down the bridge of his nose. With zero hesitation, you gently pushed them back up.
Bob was thinking of every possible unattractive thing and scenario to kill the growing erection he had. Your fingers that were tracing circles over his biceps weren't helping.
If this was a dream, he never wanted to wake up.
"W-would uh, would you want to get out of here?"
Realization set in at what he just said. Fuck. The last thing this angel wanted was to be taken back to base housing. The last thing he needed was Mickey walking in on him trying to flirt too. Also, when did she ever indicate she wanted to go back to a bedroom? She didn't. Yeah, she mentioned breakfast but maybe she was just a big fan of brunch. Brunch was pretty great. You could order waffles at two in the afternoon and no one bats an eye. Had he gone too far? He had gone too far.
Of course a beautiful girl would show interest in him only for him to fuck it up.
"We, we could go to another place! I-I, uh, I know this other bar, it's much quieter or there's a late night coffee shop we could go to, or-"
"My apartment is a fifteen minute drive, and I drove here." You told him.
"O-oh. O-okay." Bob was still worried. The last thing he wanted to do was make you feel pressured to do anything. He was truly more than content to just talk to you all night, maybe kiss you on the cheek if he was lucky. If you allowed it.
"I…..I have a good collection of board games if you're interested," you said, hoping it would alleviate his clearly displayed nerves.
"I-I just wanna, uh, wanna talk to ya," he admitted, a Midwestern drawl lacing his voice.
"Where you from Robby?" You asked, pressing your forehead against his. You could hear him gulp, his Adam's apple bobbing.
God, you wanted nothing more than to mark up his neck.
"M-Montana. W-why?"
"I could listen to your voice all day," you sighed, brushing your nose against his. It was obvious it took all his strength to not look away from you, to flash a weak smile instead.
"Really?" Normally, his accent wasn't something folks enjoyed hearing. After years in the navy, he learned how to make himself sound neutral.
You nodded your head, "Yeah. I like your voice. And you." That rose tint had made itself a home on his cheeks, not that you minded. It was honestly the cutest thing.
"Really?"
"Is that so hard to believe?" You asked. It was almost sad that he was genuinely shocked by this.
He shook his head, "I-it's just uh, usually, uh, I'm uh, not the one folks um, typically go for."
"Well, those folks are idiots," you responded, "you have a lot to offer: smart, sweet, kind, funny. Extremely handsome to boot."
You were being genuine. Bob couldn't help but smile, practically beaming.
"C-can I kiss you?" He found himself asking. Where that bravery came from, he wasn't sure.
He was genuine, something you didn't see often, particularly from those in the navy. Your fathers always had warned you of such, hence their 'no pilot' rule.
They never told you about what to do when you found a sweet, honest, good hearted man in the navy.
It probably helped that he wasn't technically a pilot.
You nodded your head quickly, not wanting to doubt for one moment, "Was beginning to worry that you'd never ask."
He was a good kisser. His large hands cupped your jaw and most of your neck. He was gentle when he titled your head down, moving his lips against yours.
You could kiss him for hours. When you broke away for air, his face was still red, though a proud smile was now on his face.
"You gonna take me home Robby?" You asked before placing a gentle kiss on his jawline.
"I-I don't know what your car looks like," his voice was now low, vibrating into your shoulder, a stark contrast to the adorable observation he was making.
You kissed his cheek again, the corner of your lips brushing against his, "you're really fucking cute Robby."
Bob knew in that moment he would follow you to the ends of the Earth.
"Y-you're um, you're one t-to talk." It sounded much smoother in his head. And yet, you didn't mind the stuttering or that he was still nervous despite being brave enough to ask if he could kiss you.
You liked him, just the way he was.
It was a nice change. A really nice change.
"Why don't we get out of here?" You hopped off his lap, extending a hand out to him.
Bob thanked whatever higher being was up there for throwing him a bone before he made an even bigger fool out of himself. Granted, you had made your interest in him well known, so was there really a point to being so nervous?
He grabbed your hand, following you out of the bar. As you two left, you flashed a wink to your friend Bradley, who simply gave you a thumbs up, signaling his approval.
"Did you plan that?" Phoenix asked as she watched you and Bob walk out the door.
"Not planned, more like hoped it would work out that way," Bradley responded, smiling.

I want you, but… [Ghost x reader (platonic)]
Summary: Ghost doesn’t like to see you date someone else. But when he has the chance to get what he wants, his common sense wins.
Note: We’re all sad bitches in this house (that’s me, I’m the sad bitch) so no happy ending. Ghost, I love you, but you’re an idiot. / If you want to know when I post new stuff, follow @unreliablesnakefics and hit the get notifications button.
Part 2
Tumblr media
Ghost usually isn’t the jealous type, but with you it takes very little to lose his cool. You’ve never been together, he knew he had no right to be mad at guys who flirted with you, he had no right to be angry with you for letting them, but it still happened sometimes.
One of the new doctors at base who treated your wound was really nice to you. Ghost was there, he volunteered to escort you to sick bay, making sure you didn’t collapse on the way, and when he saw the way the doc was looking at you, the kind, humorous way he was talking to you, he immediately knew what this was all about.
You didn’t seem to mind the attention, in fact you encouraged him by keeping up the playful conversation despite being in pain. Ghost took a hesitant step forward, planning to ask how you were, if he could bring you something, anything that could break the spell you were under, but he changed his mind last minute. He should keep his distance, he had no right to stand in the way.
He had been more irritated lately as he had been before. Johnny’s usual jokes simply went over his head, he didn’t even feel like being around others. You and that doctor got pretty close, pretty fast, and there was nothing he could do to stop this relationship from blooming.
Ghost picked up women for one night only, trying to forget you at least until he was fucking someone else, but all he could think about was you. Your smile, your laugh, your stupid sense of humor. He missed you, especially when you were both back home and there was no way for him to reach you.
All he could do was stalk you on social media. You barely posted photos of yourself, but when he saw a picture of you and–based on the size of the hand–a man clinking glasses at a bar probably, his heart sank. You were happy with someone else, feeling so confident about the relationship that you were ready to share it with your family and friends.
But then he checked the caption. “Sometimes ‘let’s stay friends’ isn’t an empty promise.”
He sat up in bed and reread the sentence. Did this mean you broke up? Hope filled his heart at the thought, even though he wasn’t sure how this could help him. He was your superior, the two of you getting together would cause a scandal for sure. Price wouldn’t be happy, the others might begin to believe he would play favorites with you, so everything pointed in the direction that you could never be together.
A few weeks later you were back on a mission together, and Ghost didn’t really know what to do. He was nervous around you, always carefully thinking about what to say before opening his mouth.
One evening Soap pulled out a bottle of booze from his bag, inviting the core team for a drink to relax a little. That one bottle turned into two, then three, the number growing because you were having fun together and apparently everyone brought something to drink just in case.
“So what’s with you and that doctor?” Gaz asked out of nowhere, almost causing the lieutenant to choke on his drink.
His eyes were glued to you, and your eyes traveled from one person to another until they locked with his amber ones. “It didn’t work out,” you admitted before turning to Gaz again. “Also, he’s going back to a civilian hospital. Less stress, he said. But I’m not sad or anything.”
“He doesn’t know what he’s missing out on,” Soap noted casually as he raised his glass.
Around one in the morning Price told everyone to go to sleep, saying they all needed some rest to sober up. While Price, Soap and Gaz left, you stayed behind with Ghost, your hands folded behind your back as you watched him with an anxious smile. The lieutenant didn’t really know what to say to you, so he decided to remain silent.
Even though he turned his back to you, he could still feel your gaze on him. “What is it?” he asked when he turned around to face you.
You inhaled then exhaled slowly in an attempt to calm yourself. But then you took a hesitant step towards him and said, “Are you happy that I broke up with him?”
“Why would I be happy?”
“You liked the photo I posted weeks ago. You know, the one about let’s stay friends. Also, there’s another thing,” you began, but you stopped talking. Ghost raised an eyebrow, waiting for you to continue. “Peter told me something that made me think. He said you were giving him death glares ever since he first talked to me in your presence after I got hurt on the field.”
Fuck, he had noticed. It’s not like he tried to hide it, but he sure wasn’t expecting the doctor to pay so much attention to him. What was he supposed to say? That yeah, well, I’m sorry, but he wasn’t good enough for you? In the end he let out a long sigh and put a hand on the back of his neck.
“I hope he didn’t break up with you because of that,” he noted quietly.
You raised an eyebrow at this in question. “What makes you think he was the one who broke up with me? Maybe it was me who let him go.”
“Did you?” You nodded. “Why?”
“Maybe there’s a big, scary guy I would rather spend my time with,” you replied with a playful smile.
Ghost wanted to kiss you so badly it hurt, but he kept his urges under control. When he stepped a little closer to you, you did the same, and eventually you closed the gap between you. He reached out to push a stray strand of hair behind your ear, watching as your breath caught in your throat from surprise.
After gulping loudly, you reached out to take his hand. “Was he right? Do you like me, lieutenant?”
“It doesn’t matter. I’m your higher-up, it wouldn’t work anyway. Go to sleep,” he told you, even though this was killing him.
He could see the signs. He could pinpoint the exact moment your heart shattered into pieces because of his response. Biting on your lower lip to stop yourself from crying, you nodded and left him standing there, making him hate himself more than ever before.

Why Cling On?
Kaeya x GN!Reader
Summary: You keep clinging onto a relationship where it seems like you're the only person that actually cares about it. But... you do get tired. Kaeya let's you get hurt.

Kaeya
He's charming, isn't he?
Everyone sure do think so.
Handsome, flirty, confident, cool, just the mere sight of him makes people fall to their knees.
And he loves the attention, even going as far as to respond to the attention with teasing remarks, encouraging his admirers to continue their pursuit of him.
They were fully aware of who you are, yet they did not have a problem with shoving you to the side just to get closer to their crush.
Yeah, they're just some admirers stuck with the mindset that they have a chance with the ever so charming Cavalry Captain...
But the problem is... Kaeya doesn't seem to mind that they just shove you away to get to him.
You tried your hardest to not look his way, gripping a glass of wine in your hand as you sat in front of the bar of Angel's Share. Kaeya's been chatting with some girls in a booth not far from the bar, despite not looking at them, you can hear the girls' giggles as well as the blue-haired man's light chuckle.
"Why are you with him again?" Diluc poured a glass of beer for another customer, but his eyes were pointed at you still. You looked at him, sighing as you took a sip of your wine.
"...I love him..."
"Kaeya, where have you been?!"
"Ohh, here we go..." He spat in a sarcastic tone. "I don't need this right now." Clearly, he was drunk.
Kaeya can hold his alcohol really well, so to see him almost collapsing with every step, his voice slurred, and body language dull and slouchy, you knew that he's wasted.
"It's past midnight, you were out drinking yourself silly all night?!" You asked him angrily. "I was so worried, you didn't even tell me where you were going!" You could almost cry from shouting, you weren't used to it.
"I don't need to fucking tell you shit. That's what people do!" Kaeya's voice dominated your meek and quiet one. "They don't stay home like you, waiting and being mad for no reason!"
He's scary when he's angry...
There was so much you wanted to say, but you were simply too shaken up to let yourself speak.
You let him slam the bedroom door in your face.
"Yeah... I really love him..." You stated, but you knew there was a hint of uncertainty in your voice.
Diluc's fiery red eyes looked at you unamused. "Lots of people do, apparently." His gaze then turns to his brother's booth.
The pyro user couldn't help but feel sorry for you, for falling in love with someone like Kaeya. You're pure and kind, worthy of love just as warm as the love you give. You don't deserve a love so tainted it's basically nothing more than just a joke.
"Make sure that you're aware of what you truly want, Y/N."
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
"That was fun, wasn't it?" Kaeya smiled, he was a little looser than usual, due to the drinks.
You were walking side by side, on your way home. "Yeah..." You forced back a smile.
A shout of his name came just after and a crowd quickly formed around you two.
"It's the Cavalry Captain!"
"Oh, Barbatos, it's really him."
"Here's our chance."
You were slowly being shoved away from him, a ton of people gathering around Kaeya as he merely smiled at them, letting out a proud remark of how many people came just to see him.
Suddenly, your arm was grabbed and you were sharply pulled down.
You fell to the ground, your arm scraping the hard concrete and a sharp pain took over your entire being.
You were laying there, and nobody cared to help you up....
You could only see the huge number of fans your boyfriend has, as well as he didn't even care to look for you in the crowd.
And it was just too much.
The chatter among the admirers faded as they heard a sob pierce the air.
They're eyes landed at you, as you uncontrollably let out meek sobs. Your hand went to your arm, feeling a liquid flow from it.
Blood.
Tears streamed from your eyes, glancing down at the wound on your arm. Your vision was blurry due to the hot tears, but you could see how serious it was.
Everything was quiet, and you felt someone try to pull you into their arms. Looking at the person, it was Kaeya, for the first time in a long time, he has a worried expression on his face. But you couldn't look at him right now. At that moment, you could only see the Kaeya that paid attention to everyone but you, the Kaeya that didn't show his love at all.
"Y/N! Are you-" The Cavalry Captain was met with a harsh slap to the face, by your had specifically. In shock, he fell sideways a bit.
"GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME!" You screamed at him, with all the anger you could muster up from your being. "YOU'RE A FUCKING ASSHOLE!" There was no hesitation in your voice, no passiveness. You blurted out how you felt at that moment.
Kaeya looked at your figure, you were shaking, the hand that slapped him now back to clutching the wound on your arm. Your face no longer showed a showed a soft expression, in place of it was pure anger and disgust directed to him.
The eyes of the crowd fell to him again, some even tried to help him up, but he didn't accept anybody's hand.
Tears were still streaming down your face, and he felt that a few also escaped his eyes, wetting his eye patch.
"Baby, I...." He pushed himself back up, slowly trying to get closer to you again. "Please... Let me help you first. We can talk later." He kept his voice gentle and calm.
When his gloved hand slowly pulled you into him, he felt your body tense, like you didn't like the feel of him against you.
"It's okay..." He stood up with you in his arms. His heart ached as he noticed that you were noticably paler. "You're gonna be okay." He admits that he's getting a bit scared.
"Please..." He talked to the crowd. "Leave us alone now." As he walked away, he could still feel the gaze of the others on him, but he needed to get you out of there and back home for some treatment.
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
His sleep was disturbed with sounds of movement in his surroundings. The Cavalry Captain woke up with bags of your stuff next to him instead of you.
Looking around, his eyes landed on your figure, folding your clothes carefully with one hand before placing it in a bag, leaving your injured arm to rest.
"...Y/N...?" His husky voice called out for you, but you ignored him. You didn't know him for getting out of bed the moment he wakes up, but he sure was quick this time around.
He walked up to you, looking down on the activity you've been doing. "What's going on?" He gazes onto the window, seeing that the sun had barely risen.
"I'm leaving you." You said, barely giving your words any thought.
He expected an answer like that, but it didn't stop his heart from aching terribly in his chest. Did he even have the right to feel that way? After the way he treated you?
Kaeya was left silent, oh but he wanted to stop you so bad. He got on his knees in front of you, yet you paid him no mind.
"Is there a way I can make you stay...?" He asked in such a quiet voice, a sincere voice that you don't usually hear anymore.
"I know I've been treating you like shit, and I'm so terribly sorry for all of that." Kaeya roughly took off his eye patch, throwing it carelessly to the side. His eyes prickled with tears, but you kept on packing.
"I don't get it, Kaeya. Why are you saying this now?" Your voice no longer held the sweetness it originally had for him. "It makes you look more pathetic."
"Kaeya, I really want to hurt you. So maybe you'd like to scoot away from me a little."
"You can do whatever you want with me." It felt weird for you to be so calm and for him to have the shaky voice and watery eyes. You finally looked at him, smiling ever so slightly.
"I think I'm already hurting you... I'm glad." You zipped the bag up and pushed it a bit closer to him with your feet. "Help me bring my stuff back to my old house."
He got on his feet, gently holding onto the bag before lifting it up. "Okay..." Kaeya said in the middle of a quiet sob.
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
You certainly knocked him to his senses. He's thankful for that.
Your signature smile was back on your face.
Your usual behavior shined through as you go about your life.
You're still the Y/N that he fell in love with.
Kaeya just wishes...
That someone else knocked him to his senses so he was ready to fight for you.
Because he's sure he'll never feel the love of someone as great as you.
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
I'm sorry I keep making fics of Kaeya being an a-hole! He's just.... Idk, he fits the role I want him to fulfill???
I love him, okayy! In another universe, Kaeya is cuddling with Y/N rn, making sure not to hurt their broken arm :)))

NCIS // Bradley Bradshaw
Summary: Bradley Bradshaw knows when his soon to be wife shows up randomly on Friday evening at the Hard Deck it can’t be good. But just how bad could things really be, right?
Warnings: Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw x NCIS reader. Angst, Fluff. A little bit of action.
Word Count: 8.2k
Author Note: I’m glad you all had such a positive response to this idea. Here’s a one shot to say thank you for being absolute legends. Might even be open to doing more if this does well.
Tumblr media
“What’s got you all twisted?” Rooster smirked as he watched Hangman glare down the pool table. Missing his shot by a mile. The usual confidence ridden aviator had seemingly shrunk into a hermit style shell for the last half an hour or so. Rooster had walked in half way through the game. Settling into his surroundings with a beer and a side of fries on the way.
Hangman didn’t even bother with a response, simply ignoring the question all together as he lined up another shot at redemption.
“Oh he tried to make a move on the civ sitting at the bar—she really knocked him down a peg.” Javy tried to hide his content. He always enjoyed when his best friend learnt a lesson or two. Not everyone was obsessed with Jake Hangman Seresin—and quite frankly? Sometimes he needed to be humbled. And humble Hangman you did indeed.
“Which one?” Rooster asked as he turned around, his eyes immediately landing on you as you sat by yourself. Content with the beer in front of you. Clearly working a case. “You know what? Never mind—I already have a gut feeling.” Finishing the rest of the beer Hangman had so graciously ordered last round, Rooster really did try and play it cool as he took strides to get to you. Trying to bury the fact if he had to he’d move goddamn mountains to get to you. His best friend. His fiancé. None of the team knew about Bradley Bradshaw's love life. He hadn’t found the right time to introduce you to the squad. His colleagues, friends. He was trying to, honestly. But with your line of work? It was becoming increasingly hard to pin you down.
As Rooster made his way over to you by the bar. Pushing past people who got in his way absentmindedly—you spotted him. Sending him a smirk that he’d missed seeing in person. FaceTime just didn’t do your beauty justice. Looking at your fiancé so helplessly stunned for only a split second before you forced yourself to remain calm. Rooster thought back to the first time he met you.
You hated being on carriers. For an NCIS agent, being aboard was a big part of your job description. It was something that couldn't be avoided, although you really did try. It wasn't that you weren't good on ships or got nauseous from the motion of the ocean, no. It was something far less exhilarating than throwing up at any given moment in front of whoever had fallen victim to the sight of your breakfast, lunch and or dinner making a quick escape.
It was the fact you never knew where on earth you were fucking going. And that really sucked.
Bradley Bradshaw had seen you going around in circles for the last forty five minutes. He’d been watching you from a distance. First he saw you when he was going over his Super Hornet. Checking its systems, the landing gear, the tags. All the good stuff. Then he saw you in the galley, looking confused and almost overwhelmed with the amount of crew that had filled in for dinner. And the last time Rooster saw you before he decided enough was enough? Was when he saw you heading down towards the engine room… What the hell were you doing? Were you–lost?
“Ma’am you aren’t lost are you?” Bradley Bradshaw considered himself a confident man when it came to talking to women, but for a moment you made it hard to formulate another sentence when you turned around to face him. Completely knocking the wind out of him with the way you looked so helplessly stunned. “Because if you are, I'm more than happy to help.” Yep. That was the moment Bradley Bradshaw knew he wanted you in his life.
“I'm good, thanks.” Shrugging the sailor off, it wasn't that you didn't want help. You just had too much pride to admit you were in fact. Lost. Rooster watched with an all knowing smirk as you turned around, heading straight to what he knew to be a deadend towards the laundry room. Unless that was what you had been looking for the entire time? Bradley knew you would have to pivot your way back past him. Opting to stay put, leaning against the hull with his arms crossed waiting for you to make your appearance.
Which you inevitably had to do because you were fucking lost. Sending the sailor with the cute smirk a look when you met him back where he stood originally. Stopping right next to Bradley as he smirked down at you. All Knowing.
“Okay, so maybe I am lost.” He smelt of pear and freesia. The delectable fresh scent that could be bottled and sold. It reminded you of home. “I'm looking for my room, 507.” Bradley raised his eyebrows in disbelief. Had you been wondering the entirety of the carrier trying to look for the dorms and bunks and hadn’t bothered to stop and ask a single soul for help. “The captain said my stuff had already been dropped off but I'm so disorientated.”
“First time on a carrier ma’am?” Rooster asked kindly as he walked with you in the complete opposite direction to where you had originally been going. Huh, you really were lost.
“Would you believe me if I said no?” Rooster chuckled quietly to himself at your response. “No, I do this more often than not, I should be used to this whole, ant hill.” You tried to explain as you walked side by side, not really in a hurry to get where you were going. Rooster couldn't have known you were NCIS. You were just in your blue jeans, white T and oversized corduroy jacket. There was nothing about you that screamed, ‘Hey I’m a federal agent, stop drop and put your damn hands up.’ “But I do prefer frigates, the occasional patrol boat.”
“So what brought you aboard the HMAS Carlton?” Rooster wasn’t expecting the answer you gave him. From time to time the Navy would accompany researchers and scientists to remote islands, he just assumed perhaps you were the latest one. But no.
“Uh, I’m here making sure that Clarence Diver who was stung by that group of Irukandji jellyfish was just that.” There were some suspicious toxins found in his bloodstream. “I’m Special Agent Y/n Gibbs with the NCIS.” Oh my fucking Christ Rooster was sure he was going into cardiac arrest. Why did you have to be NCIS? “Nice to meet you—“ Clearing your thirst as you paused in your stride. Sticking your hand out to shake the sailors hand who’d stopped to help you.
“Uh Bradley ma’am, Bradley Bradshaw.” Rooster stuck his hand out to meet yours. “Everyone calls me Rooster—“ You weren’t sure when Rooster had dropped your hand, or when you had started walking again. But you had. Side by side.
“Let me guess, you some kinda of cadet? A semen perhaps?” This was Rooster's first posting on a carrier. He was fresh out of the academy and had been abroad for six months. You had a glint in your eye, something worth exploring even though the idea of pursuing a Naval Criminal Investigation Agent scared the ever living Christ out of him.
“I uh—I fly an F-18 Agent Gibbs, I’m a Naval Aviator.” He was so proud of himself. I mean who else was around to be proud of him? So he had to be, for his own sanity. Stopping right in front of the door that read 507. “Guess this is where I leave you—“ news flash, it wasn't. Instantly smitten by the way you softly nodded in response. Pressing your lips together with a small frown.
“Yeah I guess it is huh?” Silence lingered for a moment as you worked up the courage to ask Rooster to hang around. Making up a totally fabricated but believable excuse he’d later find out was all so you could spend a little more time with him. “But now I’ve got no idea how to get back to the galley and I seem to have a pretty good tour guide.”
“Special Agent Gibbs, what on earth are you doing here?” Rooster taunted your official title as he slung his arm around your shoulders. Slumped over the bar as your eyes scanned the bar like a Hawk. “Heard you put Hangman in his place?”
“What the hell is a Hangman?” Your hand came up to grab Roosters softly, your thumb softly working to massage his palm. Turning your head to gently leave a subtle yet lingering kiss on his knuckles. “Oh wait—“ You remembered from conversations you’d had with Bradley in the past. “He’s the guy right, the super cocky one?” Clicking your fingers and squeezing your eyes tight as you tried to place a name to a call sign. “Jack, No—Jake!” Beaming, Bradley kissed your temple.
The sight of Bradshaw and you hitting it off so well sent Jake into a fit. Until he realised you must have been the girl Rooster had been talking about after the uranium mission. The one he wasn’t going to let get away.
“Woah look at you go detective, case closed in a whole minute.” Bradley taunted as he stood beside your barstool. “But seriously, as good as it is to see you here—you can’t be here for something good, it’s Friday baby—“ It was true. Usually wherever you ended up in the United States or on any US naval vessel didn’t usually come with good tidings. The Hard Deck in Miramar was no exception to that rule.
“You know that body that washed up about a week ago a few clicks up the beach?” You mumbled into the neck of your beer bottle as you brought it to your lips. Taking a small sip. “Intelligence believes the man responsible for that is here—and of course where else is there to go in Fraightertown but the most popular hang out point?”
“And you didn't bother to let me know you were coming?” Rooster teased as his hand slipped up your side, featherlike. Leaving goosebumps to rise in the wake of his fingertips. “Could’ve used the heads up.”
“Why? Need a change of pants, Lieutenant?’ It was the way you implied you so easily got Rooster where he needed to be that had his head spinning. You weren't wrong and he surely was feeling a little more restricted. But how could he not be when you were looking so fine. “Pretty sure I've got a pair of tracksuit pants in my carry on that might fit–might be pushing it though.” Winking as you took another sip of your beer. “Think they're grey even–” Roosters hand brushed against your hip. His eyes widened quickly at the realisation. Holy shit you were packing?
“You don’t have a gun in here do you?” Patting your shoulders, Bradley let his hands travel down your back, your gun Halsted. “Shit—you can’t bring a gun in here!!” Rooster's eyes bugged out of his head even more as he sat down beside you on the empty bar stool. “You gonna pepper the place or something? what the hell!” Guns always made Rooster a little uneasy and uncomfortable. But you were still caught up on his first statement.
“You know I’m a federal agent right?” Reminding your soon to be husband of your career choice. “I can bring a gun anywhere I damn please—“ Not that you would, but the idea that you could always did something weird to Rooster. Mentally and sexually.
“You scare the shit out of me.” He should have corrected himself, it wasn’t you that scared him. It was your damn job. Everyone he’d ever met had always told him what he did for a living had to be frightening. But you? Something about the way you so effortlessly did your job without a care in the world, blasé and effective? That scared Rooster. That was terrifying.
“Then leave me to do my job.” Rooster wrapped his leg around one of the legs of your bar stool. Dragging you closer to where he sat. He needed to be closer, needed you closer. “Rooster, honey—I’m in the middle of something here.” You played it off that Rooster was being an annoyance, but really? You loved the cat and mouse dynamic you always had. Loved him with all your heart.
“You got back up in here?” Bradley’s voice softened as his eyes trailed from your eyes to your lips and back to your eyes. Drinking in the sight of you. It was out of worry that he asked, a deep rooted concern for your well-being. “I’m not leaving this stool if you don’t have back up.”
“DiNozzo is by the jukebox.” Tilting your head Dinozzo’s way Bradley followed the direction you had pointed him in. A small wave of peace lapping at his heart. “I’m fine Roo, you don’t have to worry about me—“ You were about to mention the van out the front that held more agents, but Rooster didn't let you finish before he was interrupting.
“Doesn’t stop me though.” Rooster was quick to quip, leaning in closer to kiss your forehead as you ducked to hide your smirk. Cheeks heating with the love that flooded your system. “Worry about you all the time.”
You and Rooster had been together for a total of three weeks when he first got a real glimpse into just how dangerous your job could really be. How it so easily threatened to take you away from him. He’d been called to TopGun. An elite school for the top one percent of pilots. Its purpose was to teach the lost art of aerial combat and to ensure that the handful of men and women who graduated were the best fighter pilots in the world.
As Rooster went about his day, training exercise after the other—Admirial Bates was calling him down with urgency.
“Theres someone on the line for you calling from the Veterans affair’s medical centre—“ Rooster couldn’t place that hospital geographically until Warlock continued. “Seems as though your a registered emergency contact for a Y/n Gibbs?” Washington, that’s where the Veterans affairs hospital was.
“Uh—yeah.” Rooster couldn’t think straight. “I'm clear for landing?” He asked range control before he made any effort to turn around. With a confirmed green light Rooster headed in. He was in the administration building of the base in no time. His chest panting. A thin layer of sweat on his forehead. Panic rising to the surface as he held the phone to his ear.
“This is Lieutenant Bradley Bradshaw—“
“Hi Bradley, I’m just calling to let you know we’ve had a miss Gibbs present to the emergency department with a bullet wound to her left thigh—“ Rooster swore he forgot how to breathe as his knuckles went white as the sheer hip he held around the phone. “She’s had to go in for surgery but we’re incredibly hopeful it’s a set standard procedure, just need to remove some of the shrapnel that broke apart.”
“Can you get her to call me when she’s out?” All he wanted to do was hear your voice. “Is she okay?” When did he start crying? Why were his cheeks wet? Blinking away the tears that still threatened to spill over his waterline.
“Absolutely—” The admin assistant chuckled to herself, remembering how reluctant you’d been. “She walked herself in very reluctantly.” Rooster rolled his eyes at the thought of you not taking care of yourself. Of fucking course you’d shug this off as no big deal. “An older man brought her in, signed as Anthony DiNozzo?” That checked out, he’d been your partner since you transferred to your dads division. “Shes in good spirits and good hands, should be out shortly–ill get her to give you abuzz when she's out and feeling a little less dazed.”
That's exactly what the nurse had done. Once you were feeling up to it you called Bradley from your cell. Sitting alone in your hospital room–they wanted to keep you in overnight for observation. You understood, but home just seemed like a much better place to be. Besides, you still had work to do.
“Are you alright? What the hell happened!?” Rooster bellowed into his phone as he sat on the bench in the locker room, he was just finishing up for the day.
“Hi baby, nice to hear your voice too–” You taunted with a slight groan as you tried to move your leg out from under the lightweight blanket. “Im fine, just need to work on my reflexes a little.”
“You were shot Y/n I think you need to work on more than your reflexes, perhaps your proximity to people who want to kill you?” Rooster didn't mean to snap at you, he was just worried. “Since when am I your emergency contact anyway? I thought it would have been your dad or something?”
“Well I mean if you don't wanna be I can change it?” Your tone had softened as you looked down at your leg, wondering how differently this conversation would have been going if that bullet had hit you somewhere else. Or if this conversation would be happening at all. “I just thought you might wanna be.”
“No I do–” Bradley paused for a moment as he swallowed the lump in his chest. “I just worry about you.” He knew that when he first met you you were only a rooky, that you'd get assigned mundane cases that weren't all that life threatening and serious. Like the Irukandji jellyfish guy who'd been doing drugs onboard the Carlton. But as the years went on and you gained more confidence and experience, the less and less you were assigned the meek role of crossing T’s and dotting i’s. You were a full blown field agent and until the moment Bradley Bradshaw got the call to say you'd been injured? He hadnt really put alot of thought into it. “I guess I just never really thought enough about how dangerous your job had become.”
“Says the one who's currently learning the art of aerial combat and defensive manoeuvres.” Yep, you had him there. Rooster knew his job was dangerous, he’d learnt to accept that a long time ago, as did you. Even when you had just been close friends you had to accept the fact Bradley might get deployed somewhere and not come home. But yours had kinda crept up on him. He’d never had to process that kind of worry before. Never knew how gut wrenching the feeling could be. He now knew what his mother had meant when the sick feeling just never really went away. The constant fear that lived rent free in the back of her mind about his dad, about him. “Listen Bradshaw, I'm fine– you don't gotta worry about me.”
“Doesn’t stop me though.” Rooster was quick to quip, leaning his back against his locker willing the moment he could wrap his arms around you to come sooner. He’s asked Admiral Bates for a compassionate leave of absence to go be with you. But he was told unless someone was dead or dying he could very much forget that he even asked. “I’ll worry about you all the time.”
“I can assure you, I know what I'm doing, Bradshaw.” Sitting back upright as you pulled away, finishing the rest of your beer in one final swig. “DiNozzo I can't quite speak on behalf of.” Your tone confused as your eyes followed the direction he was hastily walking, following a man across the length of the Hard Deck. Hot on his tail. His hand going to ghost his holster as he pushed past people who flocked in his way. “Oh fuck hang on–” Jumping to your feet in an instant as you watched the man DiNozzo had identified as Bodmin wrap his arm around the neck of one of the Naval Aviators sitting peacefully at one of the round tables. Rooster felt sick to his stomach as he stood, unable to comprehend what was going on. What had poor Bob done to be brought into this. Dragged to his feet as his hands came up to grasp the man's forearms. A gun to his temple quickly escalated the situation ten fold. “NCIS DROP YOUR WEAPON!!” Shouting as you drew your weapon from your hoster, holding it at eye height. “I said drop your weapon!!” Jake Seresin had been taken aback by only a few things in his life– this? Oh this took the goddamn cake. Bradshaw with an NCIS Agent? Never in a million years did he think that man had that kinda game.
“I DIDN'T KILL THAT MAN–” Bob swore he saw his life flash before his very eyes as he stood trapped between you and the man who had him by the next with the barrel of his gun pressing against his temple. Fear evident in his eyes. “I DIDN'T HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.” Well of course you did? Why else would you pull a gun out in the middle of a heavily populated bar and take a person hostage? Your inner thoughts didn’t match your next sentence, you needed to gain this guy's trust before there was brain matter splattered across the nice hardwood floor that probably had some historical value to it.
“That's great man, really–why don't we just have a bit of a chat about it, yeah?” Trying to deescalate the situation the best you could as you took a single step forward. Slowly and every so carefully. “I mean if you weren't involved you're pretty much a free man, why ruin that shooting this guy huh?” Rooster wanted to reach out and grab you. Stop you from getting any closer, fighter every fibre of his being that told him to protect you. His eyes welled with tears, mixing with fear and adrenaline as he turned his head slightly to where Hangman and Coyote stood in complete stillness—both trying just as hard as Rooster to comprehend the situation unfolding.
Shit like this didn’t happen at the fucking Hard Deck.
“I don’t fucking trust you!” You could very much tell this guy was losing his mind. Quickly. Making a rash decision to gain his trust immediately. Rooster watched from behind as you put your hands up in surrender. Your finger pushing the safety on your handgun before the clip fell to the ground.
“What about now?” Slowly but surely crouching as you placed the handgun on the ground, your eyes never for a second leaving Bob's eyes.
“Gibbs—“ DiNozzo gave you a warning look. Clearly unimpressed by your actions. Reckless and dangerous. Standing off to the right behind the man who had Bob hostage, his gun still drawn.
“I’m unarmed.” Standing just as slowly as you had crouched. Your hands came back to the height of your head. Palms facing the man. “Let’s talk, but first you gotta let him go—“
“Uh uh, not a chance sweetheart.” Damn. It was worth a shot right? The man, Daniel Bodmin had been identified as one of the men who’d been out finishing with marine Author Avery. He’d washed ashore five days after being reported missing when a storm hit off the coast of San Diago. It seemed pretty set standard until autopsy results came back that Avery had ingested five hundred grams of cocaine in small plastic bags. That mixed with the twenty four thousand dollars sim cash found stashed behind the backboard of one of the seats on the fishing boat made it suspiciously suspect Avery may have been killed. The smell of foul play in the air. “The second I don’t have leverage, you're partner here is gonna put a bullet in my spine.”
“I’m pretty tempted to just do it anyway—“ DiNozzo piped up as he eyes down the suspect. “I’m a pretty good shot.” It was your turn to send him the same warning look he’d given you. Your hands still up beside your head in surrender as you took another slow hesitant step forward. Rooster couldn’t breathe.
“Okay so I’ll make a trade, you let him go—and you take me. That way we can talk, just you and me. Outside.”
“NO!” Rooster shouted as he took a step towards you, his chest pressed against your back before you knew what was happening. “No way.”
“Lieutenant Bradshaw so help me god if you don’t step back this second I’ll have you arrested for interfering with a federal investigation.” It absolutely pained you to say but if Bradley wasn’t going to stand down you were going to make him one way or the other. “Go stand with Jake—“
“Y/n don’t do this!“ Leaning over your shoulder to whisper through gritted teeth, Bradley begged you, the love of his life—not to do this. “I can’t lose you too.”
“I will cuff you to the pool table if I have to—“ It was tough love, sure. But you needed to do your damn job before Bob or anyone else for that matter got hurt. “Go, now.” The tone you used had gone to a new level of seriousness, you weren’t messing around. If need be, you’d cuff Bradley Bradshaw to that pool table and leave him there if that meant he was out of your way. If it meant you could do your damn job.
With hesitance and his tail between his legs, Rooster backed away slowly. Eyeing off the man who had Bob by the next and a gun pressed to his temple. There would surely be an indent by the time he was let go. Hands up surrender style—Rooster made his way over to where Hangman and Coyote stood dumbfounded.
“Are your eyes glued to your head or some shit man?” Javy hissed as Rooster stood beside him. “The fuck is wrong with you!?”
“She’s the love of my life, man.” You couldn’t blame Rooster for acting in your defence. It was in his inherent nature to protect the ones he loved so deeply, tenderly and oh so fiercely. “My whole god damn world.” He’d never been so scared to lose you before this very moment. The fallout of the uranium mission had him racing across the west coast of the country all the way to Washington where you were based. Knowing he came an inch to losing his life. Far too many times to count. On the way back Rooster had confided in Hangman for a brief moment. Mentioning that there had been a girl, a girl so fierce and loving and kind that he couldn't help but to wonder how you'd mourn him. He didn't mention specific things like how long you’d know each other or how long you two had been dating. Rooster didn't mention what you did for work or even how he’d had his mothers engagement ring resized off another ring he’d stolen from your jewellery stand.
Rooster had simply told Jake Seresin that for a moment there if he hadn’t come after him and Pete? There would have been a heartbroken soul at his funeral. A woman so willing to pray for him, take his pain for him, save his soul from himself. Bradley Bradshaw had always been the one left behind, but that day he almost left you. And he wasn't ready to do that without having made it one thousand percent clear that you were the love of his life. He wanted to spend the rest of his life with you.
“Bradley? What–what are you doing here?” You questioned as he came through your front door. The key you'd gifted him nestled nicely in between all his other keys. Standing from your stop on the lounge–Youd been curled up watching Criminal Minds. “I thought you weren't supposed to be home for a few more days?”  Taking massive strides to get to you Bradly simply engulfed you in a warm embrace. Hugging you so tightly because there were a few moments there he thought he'd never get to hug you again. Smell your hair, feel how cold you ran against his usually hot self.
“I couldn't wait to see you for one more second.” You could hear it in his voice, fuck. Something had happened, hadn't it. But more importantly you could see it in his eyes as he pulled away to meet your gaze in the dimly lit living room or your modest two bedroom two bathroom townhouse. Big enough for you and big enough for Bradley Bradshaw. With a little extra room for a guest here and there. “As soon as I was dismissed I jumped in the Bronco and headed straight for the airport.”
“That's a pretty long flight –” You were trying to get a read on the situation. What makes a man drive almost the entire West Coast of the United States so pressingly? What on earth was going on inside his head. “Do you want a coffee or something? I can make you a fresh pot?”
“Uh yeah that would be nice.” Bradley replied softly as he brought your forehead to his lips by pressing the palm of his hand to the back of your head. Letting you go as you wondered your way into the kitchen. The kettle already empty and waiting to be filled.
Rooster couldn't wait another second, he had to ask. Following you as he fished the small black velvet box that held his mothers engagement ring out of his pocket. Opening it and he stood behind you. Your hips pressing against the lip of the kitchen bench as you filled the kettle with a soft smile on your face. Bradley's hand came to lean against the countertop as he kissed your neck softly. Peppering small butterfly-like kisses up and down the juncture of your neck and shoulder.
“What do you think you're playing at?” Taunting the naval aviator who you’d missed so dearly as you turned around, leaning against the countertop as you held the kettle now full of water. It wasn't long before it had found its new home on the tiles. Water cascading across the gloss white flooring. Your hands coming up to cup your mouth. Jaw hung slack as a gasp escaped. Eyes wide with pure shock as Bradley Bradshaw trapped you against the countertop and himself. Holding the open velvet box in his hand with a soft smile and watery eyes. “Brad–”
“I almost didn't come home this time.” It was a sentence you never wanted to hear but were still thankful enough to hear him say it. It was and would always be better than the alternative. The home calls all military men and women dreaded. The one where officials inform you of a loss. “And it made me realise that I now have someone to leave behind.”
“Bradley–” You tried to speak as you cupped his cheeks. Pressing your forehead against his as you stood on the tips of your toes to meet his lips.
“Marry me Y/n, marry me.” It was a question you didn't need to ponder or consider saying anything but yes to immediately. Watching as Bradley dropped down to one knee before you. Following him down. “I love you so much and I just–Ican't stand the thought of not having you in my life for whatever time I have here.” It was the honest truth of the matter. “And I want you all to myself, as my wife, my best friend.
“Yes.” It was all you said before you crashed into him. Your arms wrapping around his neck as you both fell to the floor, rooster on his back in the mess of water as you fell atop him. Melting together as your tongues danced and hands roamed. “I love you so much more.”
“Do we have a deal?” Your voice brought Rooster back into the room. His eyes trained on you as you kept your hands up and your eyes on bob. He looked like he was keeping it together. But you knew from experience the second he was let go he could react in all kinds of ways. You'd seen it all. “I said do we have a deal?” You weren't in the mood for this, to play silly games with peoples lives. “Bodmin!”
“Yes yes we have a deal!” He shouted. Accepting your proposal for a trade off. your self for Bob. Slowly making your way over to him, you took Bob's hand in yours. He was shaking something chronic. He’d been in situations where life and death seemed not too far apart but this? He’d never be able to forget the feeling of having his life threatened by another person.
“Floyd?” You said Bob’s last name allowed, committing the name that was proudly displayed on his name badge to memory. “Got a first name?” You vaguely remembered, it was something that started with a B. Bradley had mentioned so many people it was hard to keep track sometimes.
“Bob–” huh, You finally had a face to go with the stories Bradley had told you late at night in the kitchen. One in particular coming to mind, the bird strike. “Robert.”
“Well Bob, today's your lucky day.” You were sure to take your time as the man released Bob from his grasp, pulling Bob towards you step by step. “If you call being held hostage lucky–”
“You don't have to do this, you know.” Bob whispered as you turned around, it was now you who had your back to Bodmin. With a gentle smile you let his hands drop. The barrel of the gun that had once been held to Bob’s temple now pressing against the small of your back. “You don't have to risk your life for me–”
“It's kinda my job.” That was all you really had time to say before you were being marched towards the front door of the Hard Deck. Rooster sent DiNozzo a look as if to ask what the hell was he doing just letting you play self sacrificing damsel. DiNozzo just shrugged, his gun still drawn and locked onto Bodmin's back from across the room. “How do you wanna do this Dan? You gonna shoot a lady in the back? You know thats considered murder right?” It was now that you were getting Daniel right where you needed him to be that you started playing mind games. “If you’re already going down for the murder of Avery you may as well go two for two right?” DiNozzo could hear everything you were saying through his ear piece. When he got the chance? He was gonna slap the god damn shit out of the back of your head for being so undeniably reckless. “You killed him for the money didn't you? You just didn't know where he’d stashed it. So you panicked.”
“What happened to innocent until proven guilty huh?”
“You held a gun to a naval aviator's head–you’re as good as done.”
“Shut up before I put a goddamn bullet in you–” Shoving you out the front door was probably the dumbest thing Daniel Bodmin could have done. Because as you stepped out onto the front deck of the Hard Deck bar? A few dozen of your agents had him surrounded. Within milliseconds.
Bradley's heart fell out his arse when he heard a single gunshot come from outside. Shouting from all over the place ensued as he ran to where he’d last seen you, right out the front door.
“Y/n!!” He was expecting the worst, to see you lying on the ground with a bullet between your eyes. But that's not what he saw. Far from it actually. Special Agent DiNozzo was hot on Rooster's tail. Fuck. This couldn't be happening, this was meant to be a routine god damn op.
To both men's surprise, you had your knee pressed into Daniel Bodmin's back. He was face down on the deck with his hands cuffed behind his back, his gun discarded. Looking up at Rooster with a smirk evident on your face as Daniel squired under the pressure you were forcing him down with.
“Hi fellas.” You beamed like nothing unorthodox had just taken place. “DiNozzo, what the hell took you so long man–?”
“I was trying to listen to what everyone on comms was saying but it got all jumbled.” DiNozzo explained as he holstered his gun. Leaning down to take over the apprehension of Daniel Bodmin. “All I heard was gett him outside then you started going all awol of me like some suicidal maniac.” Pulling the now detained suspect to his feet. “When we get back to Quantico you best believe Gibbs is gonna be pissed.”
“When is he ever not?” You replied with a sigh. Turning your attention to Rooster who stood off to the side. The entire squad looking out the windows, peeping eyes looking over the windowsills to catch a glimpse of the action happening outside. This had been the most exhilarating situation the Hard Deck Bar had ever seen. Penny swore she was about ready to sell the damn place. “I'm sorry I threatened to arrest you, you know I wou–” before you could finish your sentence Bradley’s hands were clasping your cheeks. Pulling you against him as he kissed you with so much love and admiration you could taste it.
“I’ve never been so fucking worried about you—“ Roosted kissed you deeper this time, he knew what he was playing at as well. The whole ‘let me kiss her so she can’t speak’ shtick. Only pulling away with enough time so he could. “You’ve told me this stuff seems so normal to you but I want you to know it’s not—it’s beyond dangerous and I can't believe how easily you put down your weapon.” Rooster was projecting his own insecurities about your job onto you. Placing your hand over your lips as he came back to kiss you. Colliding with your open palm.
“You have a medallion sitting over our fireplace because you defied direct orders and single handedly flew into enemy territory knowing damn well you didn't have the ammunition to fight back–all to save the lives of others.” Yep. You had him with that one. “What is the difference here? Spot it and I'll give you five bucks Bradshaw–” Rooster just pulled you into his chest. His arms wrapping around your shoulders, his chin resting on the top of your head. Looking out as the sun set lower and slower on the horizon.
“I guess there isn't much in it.”
***~***~***~***~***~***~***~***~
Twenty minutes. That how much time had passed since Rooster saw you held at gun point, since he saw Bob held at gunpoint. It was standard protocol, you had Bob sitting at a nearby picnic table outside of the Hard Deck taking a witness statement.
“And you’re sure you’re alright? You don’t feel like you need to get checked out or anything?” You had your windbreaker one. The dark blue oversized jacket that proudly displayed NCIS on the back.
“No ma’am, thanks to you I’m in one peice.” You smiled softly at him, honestly you were just doing your job. “I didn’t know Rooster had a fiancée—“ You closed your little notepad before pocketing it in the back of your jean pocket. “Wish we’d met under different circumstances.”
“It is a little unorthodox isn’t it.” You chuckled, tapping Bob in the shoulder before making your way over to Rooster. He’d been watching you like a Hawk as you did your thing. Told people where to go and who to talk to, lead the investigation as NCIS agents went in and out of the Hard Deck. Talking to other witnesses for as many recollections as possible to aid the prosecution. “I’m thinking of staying until Tuesday if you feel like some company?” You mentioned as you approached Bradley, he stool with his arms crossed over his chest. Just admiring you from a far. He never really got the chance to watch you work. “If not I can always get a room at the motel down the road.”
“Well I usually don’t bring in strays—“ Taunting you as you bumped your hip against your finance’s playfully, your tongue sticking out against the inner part of your cheek as his smart ass comment. “But I’m sure I can make an exception.” You and Bradley had spoken a few times about the possibility of maybe buying a house in Freightertown now that he was there on more of a permanent basis. You’d keep the rental in Washington for convenience—but the idea would eventually see you come to San Diago as well. “You can’t get mad about the dishes piled as high as Everest in the sink though.”
“I’m not gonna say a word—“ Rooster swore he saw your nose grow an inch longer. He knew you’d say something about the mess, he’d let it get a little out of hand this week. He’d been starting early and finishing late—leaving little time for upkeep on the day to day basics.
“Agent Gibbs?” One of your Agents approached you followed by two men you’d never seen before in your life. “This is officer Radavic and Wilcox—NSA.”
“What’s NSA want with our case?” You questioned and the men showed you their badges and credentials. Rooster didn’t know if he should leave or stay. Choosing to stay as you crossed your arms across your chest.
“Daniel Bodmin was a foreign national with information considered a threat to the United States of America.” You couldn't believe what you were hearing. This entire case had been blown way out of the realm of what you originally thought it to be. “We figured we’d jump in, take things off your hands.” With a scoff and a small laugh you shook your head. Kicking your heel in the rough gravel underneath your shoe.
“This case is NCIS jurisdiction–regardless if Bodmin is of interest to NSA—“ Something was off, way off. If NSA was interested they would have made contact way before now. And they’d use the proper channels to do so, not just show up in Miramar unannounced. Perhaps you were too much like your father, or maybe you just didn’t believe the story from the get go.
“Well, I personally believe it would be in the best interest of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service to work with us, after all? We are on the same side.” Yeah, no. There was something incredibly off about these two. “Have you been able to find anything on–” Before the supposed NSA  Agent had the chance to finish his sentence you were sending your shine directly between his legs. Pulling his shoulders forward into you as you did so. Immediately he went down like a sack of shit, groaning as his partner went at Rooster. Not knowing he wasn't NCIS.
“Hey woah what the–!” Rooster was pretty quick on the draw, you'd give your soon to be husband that. He didn't need your help when it came to defending himself. His knuckles would surely be bruised up slightly after he was done and the other agent was on the ground. “What are you doing! You heard the guy? You're on the same team?” Roosters eyes were as wide as saucers as he turned back to you, fixing his shirt after having laid the other agent on his ass. Unconscious.
“Im pretty sure he's not NSA–” Bending over to retrieve both their weapons as a few agents rushed to the scene. Taking them into custody.
“Pretty sure!?” Bradley shouted through gritted teeth. “Because you teed off on him like you were kicking a field goal!”
“Rooster, I've got a hunch they're working with Bodmin alright, they might be foreign oppritives—just slow your roll there.” Trying to calm your fiancé down as you dusted him off. Sand everywhere.
“Oh my gosh! Y/n, sweetheart, baby girl no you don't just kick a guy in the junk on a hunch–“ Rooster groaned as he held his stomach. “Gees, sometimes I don't even know you, who does that?” You shrugged it off with a chuckle, intertwining your arm with Roosters as yiu walked back into the Hard Deck—all eyes on you as you looked up. A good set of twelve eyes all locked onto you. “Uh, I think this might be a good time to introduce you to my colleagues here.” Rooster mumbled as he kissed the top of your head. Nodding in response you waved at everyone who just stood stunned, still processing what had happened earlier.
“You must be colleagues huh?”
***~***~***~***~***~***~***~***~
“So how’d you know they were bogus?” You’d all been sitting around the pool table. You’d noticed pretty quickly just how close Bob had stayed to the side of the women who’d come racing to the Hard Deck not ten minutes after you’d placed Bodmin under arrest. When Bradley had introduced you she’d pulled you in for a hug, said thank you for saving Bob's life and told you her name was Nat.
“Theyre accents–” You replied to Coyote who just shook his head in disbelief. God you were cool. How on earth did Rooster manage to find a girl like you?
“Nope, they didn't have accents.” Rooster saw how everyone was looking at you like you were the coolest person they’d ever encountered. Flying high he decided to shoot you down for his own enjoyment. Bring you back down to earth where he and the commoners lived. Standing between Bradley legs as he sat on one of the barstools with your back against his chest. You turned as his arms came down from their home on your shoulders. His hands lingering on your hips.
“Rooster, sweetheart, baby boy.” You teased, knowing exactly what he was doing. “Do you know the difference between French open syllabic organisation and English archaic speech patterning?” Giving him a taste of his own medicine. He didn’t respond—simply smirking as he took a sip of his beer. Eyes never leaving yours. Fucking smart arse.
“What that old chestnut?” Hangman mumbled as he smirked into the beer bottle he held to his lips. The whole crew minus Bob were indulging in a few too many alcoholic beverages. “Nah, what the hell even is that?” Fuck—Rooster could count his lucky stars with you that was for damn sure. “They probably have some diplomatic unity or some bullshit.”
“That's exactly why we threw em in county.” A familiar voice entered the chat. “They’ll be lucky to even get a phone call by christmas. '' DiNozzo snickered as he picked up a handful of the peanuts sitting in a bowl on the edge of the pool table. Looking at him so disappointed and puzzled as to where he’d gone this whole time– He shot you a questioning look back. “What? What's that look for?”
“Where the hell have you been—?” It was a legitimate question you wanted an answer to. DiNozzo just frowned as he took the handful of nuts into his mouth.
“Escorting our perp into county, why? what did I miss?” Looking around, no one wanted to give him an answer. “I'm pretty sure we’re good here don't you think? Besides, I’m gonna head back to the motel and get a good rest in before giving our two NSA impersonators the old razzle dazzle tomorrow–” Bradley chuckled to himself as you lent back to him. His chin resting on your shoulder.
“Just don't let Agent Bradshaw here interrogate them.” You would soon have to get used to that. Special Agent Bradshaw. It sounded funny but in the best of ways. Like a new house. Sure it felt foregin at first but soon it would become a home. Rolling your eyes as you sighed dramatically.
“Why is that?” DiNozzo questioned with squinted eyes. “What did you do–?”
“She kicked one of the guys right in the non day plumes!” Bradley scoffed over your shoulder, feeling you pull away in defeat as you stood with your arms crossed, sending him a glare– telling him to get over it already. God you loved him. So much.
“No–” Anthony played into it. Holding his hands together to cover his crotch. “She didn’t–”
“Yep–Guy didn't even have his weapon out.” You couldn't believe how big of a deal Bradley was making out of this.
“Really!?” DiNozzo was flabbergasted. “Gibbs, that's just outright assault.” You didn't know who to stare at more, Anthony or Bradley as the group watched on with laughter and smirks.
“Mmhmm, right in the cul de sac, kicked him so hard it gave me a stomach ache.” Okay this was getting out of hand.
“So what!” Throwing your hands up in defeat. “Would it have been better if I pistol whipped him across the face?”
“YES!!” Every single man you stood with said allowed in unison. You couldn't believe it. Even Natasha rollered her eyes.
“I'd rather be held at gun point–” Bob pipped up as Phoenix softly slapped him in the chest with the back of her hand. The group couldn't help but to laugh, settling in soon after into their own conversations as you said bye to DiNozzo and turned all of your attention back to Rooster.
“You done?” Questioning his childishness you glared at him yet again with a soft smirk. “Or should I get that hotel room after all?”
“Oh No–” Bradley Bradshaw had never jumped from his seat so fast in his life. Finishing his beer as he did so. “No you're coming home with me.” kissing your cheek as he whispered in your ear. “I specifically remember you mentioning handcuffs and I don't know about you but I'm keen to play cops and robbers.”

Old Man
Tumblr media
okay okay, we’re FINALLY here, it’s finally done. i’ve had this idea stuck in my head for forever, it’s based on a dream i actually had, go figure lol. enjoy, first fic i’ve written in literal years <3
word count: 1280
jackson!joel x reader
warnings: tbh not much, a creep, heavy kissing, cheeky joel.
Content. If there was one word to describe how you felt at the moment, it would be just that. The radio playing some old country song you couldn’t be bothered with to remember playing softly in the background, not overpowered by the light chatter of the Jackson patrons. It was a quiet night for the Tipsy Bison. It had been a pretty uneventful day of patrol, the only thing keeping you going from lookout to lookout being the promise Joel made that morning before you both left the gated community.
“Sweetheart, we gotta get going for the day”, his voice still raspy with sleep as you both enjoy the comfort and warmth provided by the fluffy duvet. Your head rising and falling on his chest with each breath he took. Through the curtains you could see a peak of sunlight, taunting you to start your day.
You pout slightly, “But I love seeing you like this; so relaxed and cozy. Maybe Tommy can find someone to fill in for us? I know, tell him we came down with a cold?”
He snorted, “Yeah right. The last time we used that excuse, he saw all of those lovely marks you left on me.” Joel smirks as he recalls the memory.
“Well, I’ll just have to hide those marks this time around”, you say as you grin up at him, sliding your hand up his neck and to his scalp, pulling on his hair lightly.
Joel groans, a devilish look flashes in his eyes as he tightens his grip around you. He hums, “How about I make you a deal? If you can behave yourself today during patrol, I’ll take you out tonight. How’s that sound darlin’?”
You raise your eyebrows, “Joel Miller wants a night out on the town with me? Feel like I just won the lottery”, you tease with a smile.
Joel grins a shit-eating grin and pulls you closer. “Don’t push your luck sweetheart”, he says as he places small pecks from your temple to your neck, nibbling along the way.
You’d gotten to the bar before Joel, he mentioned having to stop by Tommy’s. Something about a new area of Wyoming to patrol. You honestly weren’t listening to the details, too excited for the night to come. You hum along to the old country song playing in the background, sipping on a glass of whiskey. The burn providing a warm comfort to the cool breeze from the fall air outside.
“Hey, what are you doing here all alone?”, you heard a familiar voice from behind you as you sat at the bar. When you turn to look over your shoulder, you saw that the voice came from one of the stable hands. Jake? James? Maybe Jason?
“Oh, no, I’m just waiting for someone”, you said with a small, polite smile. If you’re being honest, the guy always gave you weird vibes. Sometimes as you would leave for patrol on your horse, you could feel a lingering stare, leaving the hairs on the back of your neck standing at attention.
As you focused your attention back to your glass, you saw the barstool next you pull out, your pest of the night sitting down next you at the bar.
“Well in that case, I’ll just keep you company until then”, he smirked, looking you up down. There it is, that familiar uncomfortable feeling.
“Ah, no, that’s okay. He should be here any minute, I’ll be fine to wait alone”, you say as you pick at your cuticles, hoping he’ll take the hint. He laughs, resting his arm on the back of your stool.
“Some friend he is. Really, let me get you a drink, sweetheart”, he says, the term of endearment sounding bitter coming out of his mouth.
Before Jake? James? Maybe Jason, can say anything else, you feel a familiar hand rest against waist. “Should I throw your ass out of this bar or do you want to walk out on your own? Think carefully”, Joel nearly snarls as he puts himself between you and the once confident, now tense man.
He raises his hands in surrender, “Hey, man, I didn’t mean any trouble. I’m just, I’m just gonna…”, he slides off the barstool and quickly leaves, tail between his legs.
Joel turns to you, concern all over his face, eyebrows furrowed. “Are you okay? Did he touch you?”, he quickly scans your form. His big, brown eyes fully of worry.
You grab his bicep, pulling him closer to you. His familiar scent putting you at ease. “I’m fine, I’m just glad you’re finally here”, you say as smile, happy to finally have a relaxing night with the love of your life. Neither of you have had a night to yourselves, usually spending your nights enjoying dinners with Tommy and Maria, movie nights with Ellie. It’s not that you don’t enjoy the company of your family, but sometimes you just want Joel all to yourself.
“I’m sorry it took so long, Tommy found an abandoned town a few miles out, thinks there could be supplies worth the trip. We’re gonna head out first thing in the mornin’, there’s an old clinic we need to check out. Could be medicine there.”
You sigh, knowing you’ll both have to cut the night short. Defeated, you stand up from your barstool, grabbing his bicep to lead Joel out of the quaint bar. “Well, come on old man, you need your beauty sleep if you want to get up bright and early”, you tease him, sliding your hand to the back pocket of his jeans.
Slowing down his stride, Joel stares into your eyes. His once soft brown eyes, now dark, a devious glint in his eyes. Without hesitation, he grabs your arm and pulls you to the side of the bar, away from any prying eyes. His actions surprising you.
You inhale sharply, your whole body heating up from just the simple touch on your arm. “Joel? Joel, what are you doing?”.
He quickly pins you against the brick wall behind you, caging you in between his arms. Joel leans in, his lips grazing your neck, his warm breath bringing chills to your skin. You’re breathing heavily at this point, your insides practically begging for him to do something, anything to alleviate the burning desire within you. Joel begins to coast his lips up from your neck, your jaw, and finally hovering over your own. With heavy eyes, you both stare into one another’s eyes, waiting for the other to break.
You can’t take it anymore. Finally, you give in and roughly bring your lips together, his chapped, yours soft. Quickly, you bring one hand to comb through his dark hair, the other to rest against the back of his neck. His own grabbing at your waist, placing one hand to your neck, just under your jaw. Softly, you whimper against him as he bites your bottom lip, allowing him to take control of the kiss, his mouth exploring your own. You sigh heavily, the hand in his hair pulling on his roots. He groans, pulling away from the kiss, both of you gasping for air.
“Where did that come from?”, you whisper, slightly out of breath.
Joel smirks, eyes still heavy and burning with want, “You wanna call me an old man, sweetheart? Let me show you what this old man can do“. He grips your hand, pulling you back onto the street, beginning the short walk back to your shared home.
There it is, that fiery desire that only Joel can ignite.
Yeah, you were in for a long night. Maybe you’ll tell Tommy you both caught a cold?

this is a sort of continuation of this request for @xoxobabe. wc: ±1310
Tumblr media
That night you went home unsated, thoughts of your interaction with the cool stranger plaguing your mind. You were a bit upset you didn't even get his name, so you had no way of finding him.
You just couldn't get over how cool he was, effortlessly so too. He walked around with unmissable confidence and suave, like he knew everyone was in awe of him. You'd give everything to have another conversation with him, preferably one where you didn't make a complete fool of yourself.
A few days later it seemed as though your prayers had been answered when your friend had payed you a visit. "I went to visit my friend, it was a small gathering, just a few people, and some guy there asked for you," she said as the two of you sat on your small couch.
Your breath hitched a bit at the possibility that it could be him, and your brows rose in intrigue. "Who was it?" you asked and she shrugged. "He didn't give me a name. Just asked where you were and asked me to give you this," she fished in her pants pockets until she pulled out a small paper and handed it to you. On it was a number scribbled in almost unreadable handwriting.
"What did he look like?" you asked, inspecting the small paper. "Really tall, lots of piercings and crazy clothes, had wicks?" she said and you tried not to look too elated. It was him, and he had asked for you. Maybe you hadn't made a complete fool of yourself.
That night you had planned to called him. But you didn't.
Three weeks; you had kept the little piece of paper by your nightstand for three weeks and not once did you call him. You'd come close, already pressing the numbers in but every time you tried to press "call", you'd drop everything, once again placing the paper on your nightstand.
You didn't know why were so hesitant. A small part of your brain kept telling you that you'd royally fuck up once you started talking again. You didn't even know what you'd talk about too. What if once you called him you'd freeze up like an idiot, or say something so stupid and weird that he'd have no choice but you hang up.
It bothered you as well. He must've thought you didn't want to talk to him, but you did. You so badly did, but you just didn't know where to start. Ironic seeing that you had all the facilities, just not the willpower to do anything with them.
♪.˳⁺⁎˚
Your friend had asked you to join her to go and see some band perform, and you had gladly agreed. Anything to take your mind of the little paper burning a hole in both your nightstand and your mind. You had dressed in your best, spent hours on your hair and makeup, the whole shebang. You needed a night out more than anything.
The venue was fairly small but quite full, but you and your friend fortunately found place quite close to the actual stage. She kept your place while you went to the little bar to get the two of you drinks. By the time you carefully made your way back to her, squeezing through the crowd trying not to spill anything, you heard the static of the mic and the band getting introduced. You tried to get a look while you moved but it was so packed all around you.
When you made it to your friend and finally got a chance to see the performers—just as they began—you couldn't believe your eyes.
Right there in front of you on stage, he stood, playing guitar like he was getting payed to do it (which he probably was). It was definitely a sight for sore eyes, and you felt like burying your head into the ground like an ostrich. If he saw you, you'd probably combust on the spot just from the embarrassment alone. How your friend forget to add this detail when telling you about tonight, you didn't know.
The band itself was amazing too. You enjoyed the music, it might not have have been what you'd listen to normally but still good music. Once they finished their performance the crowd erupted in applause and cheer. As everyone cheered you moved back into the crowd, telling your friend you needed another drink. Lord knows you truly did.
You made your way back to the small bar, politely ordering and watching intently as the bartender stared working on your drink. The sudden call of your name prompted you to turn around and once you did you wished you hadn't. It was him, of course it was.
"How've you been stranger?" he asked and you wanted to crawl in on yourself. Run away if you could. "I've been good," you smiled awkwardly as he joined you on the adjacent bar stool. "How about you?" you added.
He pursed his lips before replying. "Not too well, considering you never called," he said, "didn't your friend give you my number?" Maybe it wasn't too late to start running.
"No she did," you said quietly, "and I was planning on calling. It's just that I didn't really know how to start the conversation over the phone, if that makes sense." He only nodded, moving his body so that his body was now entirely facing you.
"Well, I'm here now, so how would you begin the conversation face-to-face?" he asked and you smiled. "I'd start by asking what the hell your name was," you said and he laughed. He extended his hand, mimicking your initial introduction. "Hobie," was all he said, although it sounded a lot more like 'Obie through his thick accent. You placed your hand in his and shook it gladly. "It's nice to meet you," you smiled.
"Your band, you guys did great, by the way," you said, thanking the bartender once he handed you your drink. "Yeah? You liked it?" he asked and you nodded excitedly. "Loved it," you said and he smiled. The sight nearly had you in shambles. "I'll have to attend every performance from now on. Just my duty as your new number one fan," you added, taking a gulp sip from your drink, your nerves not yet gone.
"Well then I can guarantee I'll be playing ten times better with you front row," he said with a smirk and you had to stop yourself from choking on your drink. "Don't inflate my ego," you said, yet you hated how small your voice sounded. "'M not," he tried, "jus' stating the facts." You found yourself giggling like a school girl.
The conversation continued for what felt like hours, the two of you sitting by the small bar, contently caught up in your own little bubble. It wasn't until one of his bandmates had called for him, telling him that they needed to pack up and get going, that he had to say goodbye.
"I hate to cut this night short love, but I have to get going," he said, standing up. You tried not to show how the nickname made your stomach flip. "It's alright, it's getting late anyway," you said, also standing up, suddenly remembering about your friend that you had deserted. "You'll call me this time, yeah?" he asked and you nodded with a small laugh.
"Good. I'll see you around, love. Take care, yeah?" and then he dissappeared into the crowd once again. You drank the last if the drink and tried to find your friend.
When you did, you apologized at your disappearance. "It's alright," she said, "I saw you were too busy with mister rockstar." You rolled your eyes at her words and the two of you made your way home. That night you planned to call him, and luckily you did.

₊°✧︡ ˗ ˏ ˋ ♡ ˎˊ ˗
He laughed, throwing back a beer as his eyes met yours across the bar. It almost looked like he was smiling at you, but it was impossible to tell. Before you knew it, he was maneuvering through the crowd towards you.
“Havin’ fun?” and there he was, southern charmer Phillip Graves. He raised his eyebrows as he watched you stir your drink with the flimsy black plastic straw.
You shrugged back, eyes meeting his, “It’s alright.”
“Just alright?” he tossed the beer back again, “C’mon now,” he nudged your shoulder playfully. It would have gone unnoticed if you hadn't been crushing on the Commander for the past few months. It wasn't like you planned to like him, but fuck was he hard to resist.
The two of you talked occasionally, nothing crazy, you doubted him ever even noticing you. Something tonight felt different: his eyes darkened with each glance, the way he was standing closer than usual, his body brushing against yours. If you brought up how close he was, he would blame it on how busy the bar was (despite the crowd winding down as the night progressed).
Phillip’s lips were moving but you were so lost in thought you couldn't make out what he was saying. “Darlin’,'' his hand waved in front of your face, “You listenin’?”
Your eyes fluttered trying to focus on his words, nodding back trying to reassure him you were listening to whatever he was rambling about. “Yeah, sorry it’s kinda loud in here,” you laughed as you lied through your teeth. Maybe it would've been easier to focus if he didn't look so good tonight. Casual clothes were Graves’ strong suit, something about seeing him outside of his typical tactical gear made your knees weak. Tonight he had a baby blue polo shirt paired with dark wash jeans and a tan belt to tie it all together. The top 2 buttons on the polo were undone making it hard for you to maintain eye contact.
“Wanna step outside?” he leaned closer, lips grazing your ear, his stubble just barely scratching your cheek. The sudden proximity to the Commander made your heart stop. You nodded and followed him out onto the patio, the night air was cool, a nice contrast to how humid the bar inside was. “Better?” he asked while sipping his beer.
“Much better,” smiling back as you both sat on the cheap patio furniture. Graves stood up, pulling his chair closer to yours before sitting back down. His leg brushed yours as he readjusted, taking another sip of his beer.
“Good,” he chuckled, his hand squeezing your thigh lightly. Instead of pulling his hand away, he let it rest on your leg. He dragged his fingertips up and down slowly, his eyes were fixed on you as a small smirk danced across his face. “You okay?” He knew damn well what he was doing.
Was this Phillip finally reciprocating the feelings you had been keeping a secret for so long? Or was he just toying with you? It was impossible to tell. Maybe the drink you had been nursing all night was finally taking effect because a new wave of confidence rushed through you. Instead of being unsure of the newfound attention, you leaned into it, upping the attention the Commander was receiving.
“I'm okay,” you smiled faintly at him. Your eyes flickered down to Phillip’s hand which was still tracing incoherent shapes on your skin. The muffled noise from the bar was the only sound as silence fell between the two of you. Slowly, you picked up Phillip’s hand off your thigh and placed in it yours. Holding his hand, you tilted his palm up and began tracing the lines along his palm.
Graves cleared his throat, trying to maintain his composure, “Havin’ fun there?”
“Mhmm,” you hummed back, enjoying the closeness of the Commander. A few more minutes of silence passed between the two of you. Time seemed to be at a stand still as you had zoned out just enjoying Graves presence with you. Tonight it was something different as it had felt like there was no pressure, just you and Phillip and no one else.
“Hey,” Phillip slipped his hand out of your grasp and snuck it under your chin tilting it up slightly. “How about dinner? Tomorrow?” he phrased it like a question, but you both knew it was more of a statement.
“I could do dinner,”
“Good, good,” he whispered under his breath, his hand moving to cup your face. Phillip leaned in, placing a kiss to your forehead. He settled back into his chair, taking your hand in his. His fingers rubbing along your knuckles.
“You better not be messing with me Graves,” as excited as you were, the little voice in your head was nervous. What if this was a game to him?
“Trust me doll, I’m not messin’ with you,”

Rhythm Is A Dancer !! ✩‧₊˚ Bsd x GN!Reader
╰┈➤ Dazai, Chuuya, Fyodor ༉‧₊˚✧
Warnings/Disclaimers ; Alcohol (Chuuya), nothing toxic though
Description ; Various bsd characters dancing with their partner!
Tumblr media
A/N; if this is well received I might do this prompt with other characters!! I have some ideas for other things though, school just makes it tough to actually put them into writing without getting easily distracted.
Dazai Osamu !! ✧*。
Dazai would like to dance with his partner every now and again. Sometimes he might pull you into his chest and start swaying with you to cheer you up, or he might do it to annoy you. I think anytime he cleans his Godforsaken apartment he would invite you over, one hand on your waist, the other holding your hand outwards. Dazai dances spontaneously. I don't think there is any specific dance the really likes, he just goes with the flow. Whatever dance seems most fitting for the moment is what he's gonna do.
He particularly enjoys dipping his partner like he did to Sigma. He would grin as he watches your face contort into one of playful annoyance, placing a soft kiss on your lips shortly after. He would pull you back up, placing one of his hands on your lower back.
Scenario ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥
"Dear, I've just cleaned my apartment, would you like to come over? We can have a movie night at my place instead...I can even help pay for food this time!" Dazais voice enthusiastically played through the speaker of your phone as you wiped down your kitchen counters. "Like...right now?" You asked, your head tilting as you spoke.
"Mhm! C'mon, it'll be fun! I'm sure you were on your feet all day, why not come see your lovely boyfriend and relax, yeah?" He said. You could almost hear his grin through the phone as you sighed. "Alright, all be over in like...fifteen minutes." You say, smiling before hanging up. You gather your things and make your way to his apartment. You arrive fairly quickly, using the spare key he left at your house to let yourself in.
"I'm here!" You announce setting your bag down. Dazai quickly pokes his head out of his bedroom, a large smile on his face. "Ah, finally! You took forever." He teases. It only takes a second for the ambiance of "Careless Whispers" playing to fill your ears, making you roll your eyes and blush. "C'mon, dance with me, dear."
Dazais hands find themselves either on your lower back or interlocked with one of yours as he starts to sway with you to the intro of the song. You find yourself giggling quietly as you both dance around the open space of his living room. He spins you a couple times and you spin him, ending the song with him dipping you. His face hovers just above yours, his hair softly resting against your skin as he leans in and kisses you.
Chuuya Nakahara !! ✧*。
I think Chuuya knows how to dance. It's not his favorite thing in the world, but he'd dance with his lover if it made them happy and he wasn't tired. He would mostly come out of his shell when it comes to dancing if he's drunk, that man can do the salsa dance, he can tango, he can waltz - you name it, he can do it. He's definitely a smoother dancer when drunk, there are times when he has two left feet sober. He definetly gets that confidence boost. He doesn't like the whip and nae nae though, he probably thinks it's stupid. He's cool with the chacha slide, though.
Chuuya enjoys to romanticism and intimacy of dancing with his partner. He loves the laughter that erupts from your lips, giving him butterflies every time he hears it. It only makes him fall further for you.
Scenario ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥
The bar was quite packed as you sat at one of the stools, sipping on some water. Your lover sits besides you, drunkenly conversing with some random guy as you listened in. They would occasionally say some silly things to each other, their loud laughs covering up the sound of your quieter ones. Apart from that, there was little entertainment in the bar, your phone being very close to dying. You observe the small things happening in the bar, the way other couples lovingly engage in conversation, or the way two people dance near the jukebox, one of them spinning the other as the song comes to an end.
You feel Chuuya's arm snake around your waist, instantly returning your attention to him. His head still turned towards the man as he continues talking. Their current conversation based around the prices of certain brands of wine - specifically Chuuyas favorite, Petrus.
"The fact that $3,900 USD is a low price for one bottle is insane! Doesn't stop me from buying it though." He laughs a little. The man laughs with him, nodding in agreement. Your attention returns to the people near the jukebox, now dancing to Por Una Cabeza. Your ears perk up when you recognize the song. "Chuuya likes this song..." You thought. "Maybe he'll wanna dance."
Upon the short silence between the two men, you took your chance to ask Chuuya. You gently tugged at his sleeve, grabbing his attention.
"Chuuya, wanna go dance?" You say, pointing over at the decently sized area. "They're playing Por Una Cabeza." You smiled at him, influencing the nod you receive. "Sure thing, doll. C'mon." He smiles with you, hopping off of the bar stool. You both make your way to the small but big-enough cleared area, starting to slowly dance with each other, incorporating parts of the tango dance as you go. Your body is hugged close to his, one of his hands on your lower back, the other extended and holding yours. The song ends after a couple of minutes, Chuuya leaning in close to your face, a bit out of breath.
"I really should let ya' drag me out to the dance floor more, that was fun." He chuckles softly, pecking your cheek. You smile, a soft blush on your face.
Fyodor Dostoevsky !! ✧*。
Fyodor loves ballroom dancing, he was taught as a child and it has always stuck with him. He finds it both intimate and elegant, the soft sound of classical music by Russian composers playing in the background as you both delicately move across the open space. He won't be up and dancing for long though with his anemia, so he would take a moment in between songs.
That doesn't stop him from pulling you into him and swaying to the instrumentals coming from his record player, though. He dances with you whenever provided the chance. His plans weren't going exactly as planned? Take a moment to clear his mind by dancing with his lover. His lover that stands beside him, offering as much support and love as possible. His lover that is there for him, no matter what.
Scenario ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥
You barely heard your boyfriend walk up behind you, jumping a bit when he rested his hands on your shoulders, peering over you to look at what you were doing. "Ah, my dear seems to be a bit jumpy today." A small laugh comes from his parted lips.
"A little,i I guess. You scared me. You're very quiet, like a mouse." You say, slipping your book mark between the pages of the novel you had started reading a few nights ago. Fyodors hand reaches for yours, interlocking your fingers together gently. You take his hand and stand up from your desk, leaning into his chest.
"My dear, it's been quite a while since we've danced together, no?" He softly asks, a small smile on his face as he leads you over to the record player, only letting go of your hand to carefully start the machine. He rests his head softly on your shoulder, inhaling the scent of your cologne or perfume. His hands resting either on the small of your back or in your own. "You always smell so lovely." You laugh a bit at his compliment.
"You must feel awfully affectionate this evening." You say. Your fingers softly scratch at Fyodors scalp, massaging his head as you two move together to the soft song. "Do you not like it?" You're quick to shake your head. "No, I love it. Forget I ever said anything." You softly giggle. Fyodor smiles and his eyes meet yours. You can hear the song coming to an end, and he pulls you in, his lips meeting yours in a passionate and loving kiss.

Nervous laughter
word count; 1190 – gn!reader, meet cute
Tumblr media
You’re generally considered very attractive, and some would even say the cafe you work in has gained more popularity since you started working there. Your smile lights up the room, you have fun quips with the customers and you make some decent coffee. However, if you ask one of your friends why you are still single, they might say it’s because you can be a bit clumsy. Scratch that, very clumsy. And you also have this fun quirk when you get nervous. You laugh! So much! It’s an unfortunate combination, really, but you’ve survived so far.
It’s not a very busy time, but enough people were coming in and out that you’re going on auto mode. You were making drinks, serving them, greeting customers and clearing tables all at a slightly faster pace. As you pass by one of the other baristas, you throw them a high five before picking up the next coffee, walking right out past the bar when your whole routine is disturbed. If only you had been more cautious, which you tell yourself every time. Someone stepped in your path and now you’ve spilled coffee on their crisp white shirt and the cup you were supposed to give to a customer was shattered on the ground.
Kuroo had a bad day. It wasn’t the worst one he’s ever had, but nothing seemed to be going quite right. He loves his job, but that doesn’t stop him from feeling like some days were tougher to get through and on those days, he couldn’t wait to get home. A forgotten meeting, a stubbed toe and a rejected opportunity are only a few of the things he dealt with already. However, he still had to meet Bokuto later so he decided his only bet was a good cup of coffee. His hair looked a little more dishevelled than usual as he stepped inside the little cafe he found, moving towards the back of the room so he could go to the toilet and maybe try to fix his hair before taking a break with his coffee. Unfortunately, he didn’t get that far.
Now he’s staring down at his ruined shirt, then looking up at you in disbelief, already prepared to somehow convince you that it’s okay even though it’s not.
But you’re full-on laughing. Leaned over, hands on your thighs, and laughing!
This is simply outrageous. He huffs but blinks in surprise when he realises he’s actually smiling. Your laugh sounds so nice, it’s like a superpower that distracted him from anything else that wasn’t as nice.
“I am SO sorry!” you gasp out through your laughter, finally squatting down to pick up some pieces of the cup before standing up to look at him with light tears in your eyes.
“You sure don’t sound very sorry!” he answered, raising an eyebrow at you as your laughter finally started to die down. He looked around, making people whip their gazes back to what they were doing before so he wouldn’t see how everyone was staring at the possible meet cute.
“Please, can I replace your shirt or something? Or wash it for you?” you suggest, cheeks heated up from embarrassment, attention and laughter.
He huffs. “Can’t really wash it unless you want me to take my shirt off right here,” he said, growing more confident when he realised you were actually nervous.
“Are you offering?” you asked without thinking, making the two of you stare at each other before you burst out laughing again, waving your hand in front of your face to cool it down. “Forget I said that, I need to clean this up but please stick around for a moment, if you can?”
He looked at his wristwatch for effect, thought about it for a moment and then agreed. “Fine, but you better get me a fancy coffee while I wait.”
“Of course, it’s on me.”
So he sat there for a while, sipping on the coffee you brought him. It was something he hadn’t tried before, and it seemed to loosen his headache in the weirdest way. Coffee isn’t supposed to do that. Maybe it had something to do with the way you smiled and pursed your lips when you handed it to him, seeming like you had to keep yourself from laughing nervously again. It made him scoff in disbelief, but it wasn’t in a malicious manner at all. Perhaps rather affectionately.
Kuroo looks up from his phone when you finally come to sit down, then back at his phone to tell Bokuto he would be a little late before pocketing the phone altogether. “This coffee is really good,” he commented. “What is it?”
“I have no idea, I begged my coworker to make something that said ‘sorry for ruining your shirt’ to a handsome guy,” you said, sheepishly rubbing your neck. Kuroo smiled in disbelief, somehow finding you even more interesting every minute he spent with you.
“Don’t worry about it, I have more shirts,” he said, shrugging it off. “But maybe you’d let me take you out this weekend?”
“I know I ruined your shirt, but at least tell me your name first.”
Tumblr media
A little over 1 year later.
Kuroo brought you along to a friend’s party, if you even called it that at your age when friends got together to catch up and brought their partners or complained about their lack thereof.
He used to be one of the latter. Some even witnessed him make puke-like sounds when someone kissed, usually earning him a punch in the arm. But now he’s watching you with heart eyes as you look around for him after exiting the kitchen. Your face lights up as your eyes find him, lifting your hand to give him a wave before making your way over, but you don’t get that far. Akaashi was exiting the kitchen with a plate of fruit and your hand knocked into it. Thankfully, he managed to hold onto the plate, but half the fruits he had arranged so nicely slid right off to the floor.
Kuroo was clutching his stomach for dear life as he laughed like a hyena, and it clashed so badly with your nervous laughter that kept bubbling from your throat as you leaned your hands on your thighs and tried picking up grapes at the same time.
Everyone else were just watching you, shaking their heads in amusement as Kuroo finally walked over to kiss your cheek and calm you down. You’ve been together for about a year at this point and all his friends – who are now your friends too – know this scene by now. As you catch your breath, you apologise to Akaashi who just waves it off with a smile and goes back in the kitchen to get more. Your boyfriend helps you throw away the fruit that couldn't be eaten anymore before leading you out on the balcony for some air.
Kuroo never really believed in destiny, but he’s sure you were made to be with him. After all, he just left Bokuto’s side right after asking if 1 year is too early to propose.

BLACK STILETTO HEELS CLICKED AGAINST linoleum, one after the other – the sounds rhythmic and soothing. You could faintly hear the fabric of your pencil skirt rustling as your thighs rubbed together, strutting down the aisle of the office with confident ease. You ran these streets. Least, that’s what it felt like when you came down that aisle every morning after you clocked in.
Right. Let’s run it back.
Three months had passed since your last meeting with Wakasa. You had taken some time to mull the whole thing over, and while a part of you wanted to hate him, you just couldn’t bring yourself to do it.
Three months of thinking, eight months of loneliness, three months spent repeating the same day over and over again. Three months at a job you didn’t really like, trying to make ends meet after Takeomi had cut you off.
Three months without him .
The unopened message sat in your phone the way it had been since you’d sent it. It seemed like years, now, that you had been running your tired gaze over the small field of text below the drunken mash of letters you had sent.
Read 12:01 AM
Swishing the burgundy booze around the bottom of your glass, you rested your head against the cold, unforgiving surface of the bar table.
You swiped your ID through the reader, punching out for the day. Pocketing the little card and lanyard, you continued onward. You came up to an elevator, same one you used every day. You pressed the same buttons to get down to the same door you left through every day.
Every day.
With a quick nod of your head, you greeted your coworker – who was on her way in just as you were making your way out. You weren’t too big of a fan of her, in all honesty. You felt she was too superficial. Then again, who wasn’t in a place like this?
You were making good money, though. That’s all that mattered.
The rush of cool air that greeted you as you pushed past the gold-rimmed office doors provided a brief respite from the stuffy office. The city streets stretched before you, bustling with activity as people hurried by.
You took a deep breath.
Heels clicking against the pavement with every step, you walked with a purpose. The air of confidence you strived to exude seemed to mask your internal turmoil – feelings you felt were much better left unsaid, feelings that had been bottled away in the cellar of your mind for the past three months.
Three months of repetition.
Three months of regret.
Three months spent trying to remember the intricate valleys and curves of his body, the small features you had come to adore.
Three months spent trying to forget him.
Though you had struggled initially with your feelings toward Wakasa, you couldn’t really bring yourself to hate him. You had spent a good quarter of a year mulling it over in your head, breaking your last interaction with him into microscopic bits and pieces.
You had concluded that he had done it to protect you.
You knew he had been right to an extent but, shit… a man of his standing should have been able to find a way to make it happen…
…right?
You hadn’t heard much about Takeomi since the fight with him and Waka. Not even a peep. You didn’t know whether to feel alarmed about that or not.
You felt like you were being watched from a distance. Always. It felt like you were trapped in a never-ending cycle.
With your phone in hand, you dialed the number for a cab. The familiar anticipation began to build again while you waited for the vehicle to arrive.
On the streets below, the city lights flickered to life, casting an amber glow on the sidewalk. You looked around for a moment, and then something piqued your attention.
Vrrrr.
There was a deep, rumbling sound in the distance, one that seized your heart in its grasp. For a moment, you were right back where you had been eight months ago. Your eyes searched the street until they fell upon a motorcyclist who had slowed to a stop in front of your building. Well, not in front of it, across the street.
The sight of the rider stirred a pang of nostalgia deep within you.
In that split second, memories flickered through your mind. Memories of stolen laughter, hidden kisses… Memories of hushed promises against soft lips, some broken and some kept. His silhouette triggered an unexpected surge of hope.
You strained to see the rider’s face, heart racing. You yearned for that familiar, lazy gaze – the warmth it once held.
But as he popped the helmet off of his head, it wasn’t blond hair that fell over his shoulders. No, just regular old brown hair and a stubbly face.
It’s not him.
The realization hit you like a punch to the gut.
Your gaze fell.
The cab’s arrival disrupted the moment, its tires screeching against the pavement until it came to a stop by the curb. With a weighted sigh, you climbed into the cab.
Your heart throbbed with a bittersweet ache. As the cab pulled away, you couldn’t help but wonder about the chances you wished you had taken with Wakasa, the what-ifs that lingered in the recesses of your mind.
The cab carried you away from the scene, leaving behind the phantom of a love that had become a haunting memory.
-
The cold, yellow liquid felt refreshing as it burned its way down the back of his throat, that familiar acidic texture eating away at his stress. He sighed, setting the glass down on the counter.
As the bittersweet elixir numbed his senses, the pulsing beats of the club melted away, merging with the cacophony of laughter and chatter all around him.
Lost in a haze of intoxication, Wakasa let out a heavy sigh, setting the glass down on the counter with a thud. His friends eyed him up warily, faces etched with that familiar look of concern. He heard voices, people telling him to slow down, to regain control.
Of course, he paid them no heed. Glazed eyes reflecting a distant detachment, senses dulled from the liquor… worries numbed, just the way he liked it. In that numbing embrace, he found solace. Time and time again.
“I think you need a therapist, man,” Benkei whistled, nursing his own strawberry margarita. “If you’re still hung up over a hook-up this long after the fact, there’s something wrong with you.”
He pushed his friend’s concerns aside with an air of indifference and a quiet hum, too caught up in the muffled chaos of his own mind to truly acknowledge his worries.
“I think you need ‘ta hop off my dick,” He retorted, pursing his lips. “I know what I’m doin’, Kei. ‘M 27 years old.”
Benkei knitted his brows, muttering something into his margarita along the lines of, “Sure don’t act like it.”
“‘M fine, guys. Promise,” He smiled, although it didn’t quite reach his eyes. He knew he hadn’t been himself in a while, of course, but he would be damned if he admitted that. “What, a man can’t drink in peace?”
“No, Waka, the problem isn’t you drinking in peace,” Shin added matter-of-factly. “‘S the fact that that’syour eighth beer of the night.”
Waka glanced down at the half-empty drink in his hand – or half full, depending on how you looked at it – as if he, too were surprised at the number. “‘S Friday night, anyway. Go hard or go home.”
Waka thought he had put on a good show. He thought that, if Shin squinted hard enough, he could mistake him for a sober man.
He thought wrong.
Shin shook his head, “It’s fuckin’ Thursday, man.”
Although he refused to acknowledge it verbally, he knew Shinichiro had brought up a good point.
Who was he kidding, anyway? It didn’t help. None of it did. The booze, the clubs every weekend, the faceless hookups and lap dances – none of it distracted him from the mess you had made in his heart.
Three months.
“It’s okay to admit you need help, Waka, y’know we love ‘ya,” Shin tilted his head. “Seriously.”
“Honest to God,” Benkei hummed.
The whole world knew he was a mess. Why couldn’t he just admit that something was wrong?
Waka ran his tongue over his teeth like the sharpened edge of a blade. He almost hoped it would draw blood. Anything to make him feel something.
“I…” He hummed, trailing off for a moment. “I think I need one more shot, then I’ll go home.”
Benkei shook his head.
Shin looked disappointed. Still, Waka couldn’t quite bring himself to care.
Not even when his two friends had to carry him home.

The harsh neon lights buzzed against the night sky tonight at the Eclipse. Even from where you were standing on the curb, you could hear the bass throbbing through the pavement, the vibrations in the air, the smell of sweaty bodies grinding a few yards away.
YOU  |  I’m here babe wya
Hitting send, you pocketed your phone. You took a deep breath, tightened your grip around the strap of your purse, and then stepped forward. The moment you entered the club, a wave of sound and sensation enveloped you. The air was thick with perfumes and colognes, the faint aroma of liquor lingering somewhere – probably the ground.
Disco lights painted the crowd in fleeting bursts of colors, highlighting dancing bodies, dazzling outfits, and sin.
In all honesty, you had no idea why Emma had even thought to invite you out here tonight. It had been eons since your last trip to the club. But, still, she said some event was happening and she didn’t want to go alone, and who were you if not the world’s best friend?
You searched the crowd for her familiar face and, sure enough, there she was, standing by the bar on the far end of the room. Blonde hair down to her back and a sweetheart dress that revealed just enough cleavage for you to know she was scouting out free drinks tonight, she was hard to miss.
You couldn’t help but smile as she waved you down wildly, gold bangles glinting beneath the club’s kaleidoscopic lights. There was an old song playing, one you couldn’t quite remember.
Emma’s grin only widened after you approached the bar and took a seat next to her. You scooted a little closer, cupping your hands over your mouth and shouting, “You weren’t kidding about this place!”
She laughed, a sound that you could almost hear in your head despite not being able to catch it over the music. “It’ll be fun! You brought ‘ya dancin’ shoes, right?”
Your eyes darted over to the dancefloor, where bodies writhed beneath the bass of the music. The sensation you felt was somewhere between excitement and hesitation. “I ‘dunno if I’m there yet, Emma– It’s been a while!”
“What?” Emma shouted. She rolled her eyes, glancing down at the other end of the bar. “I didn’t bring you here to mope, babe, we’re getting plastered!”
On cue, the bartender returned with two green drinks in hand, furnished with tiny little umbrellas. He set them down in front of the two of you, reached behind the bar, and then set two more red cocktails down before you.
“Let’s get this party started!” Emma squealed, sliding one of the green drinks your way. She held her drink in your direction, “To girls’ night!”
You clinked your glasses together in a toast.
Taking a cautious sip, you allowed the sweet concoction to flood your parched mouth. It was coconutty, with a hint of lime and –
The liquor hit you like a punch to the face. You scrunched your nose up, coughing a bit.
“Shit, that’s strong,” You remarked.
“It’s a Coco Loco!” She answered the question you had yet to ask. “With two extra shots of rum! I knew you’d like it!”
You weren’t really a fan honestly, but you didn’t want to tell her that. Not after she had just spent money on drinks for the both of you.
“It’s good,” You said anyway.
Emma clapped a hand on your shoulder, “That’s the spirit!” She exclaimed happily. Her makeup was creased a bit around the corners of her lips, where you knew she had been smiling all night. “Melt the pain away, girl.”
-
Wakasa stumbled out of the car, pulling his arm out of Shinichiro’s tight grasp. His annoyance was palpable in the way he kicked the car door shut behind him, paying no mind to the driver as he pulled away. He stood now on the edge of a bustling sidewalk in the middle of what might have been the shadiest-looking corner in Shibuya. He took a long drag from his cigarette, tendrils of smoke melting into the midnight blue around them.
“The hell are we doing at a seedy joint like this?” Waka grumbled, voice a low growl of discontent. With a scowl, he readjusted the collar of his deep purple dress shirt.
Shinichiro bounced on the balls of his feet, stuffing his hands into his pockets with a sigh. His breath materialized into the air in front of him, a cloud of white amidst the darkness.
“Figured we’d let loose a ‘lil tonight,” He spoke with such casualty that it almost came off as a little dismissive. He nudged Wakasa playfully, a humorous glint playing in his dark eyes. “Find some loose local girls for a quickie, yeah?”
Under any other circumstances, he would have been jumping at the opportunity. Seeing as he had spent the last few months attempting to drink his regrets away, however, he was anything but chipper at the prospect.
Waka’s annoyance only deepened, brows furrowing. He took another puff of his cig, blowing out the smoke with a quiet scoff. “I’m over fuckin’, man,” he groaned. “I’m goin’ celibate… startin’ today, no more bitches f’me.”
“Like I’d ever believe that from you,” Shinichiro snorted, a subtle grin playing at the corner of his thin lips. He slung an arm over Wakasa’s shoulders. The height difference between the two of them was emphasized as they walked side by side. “Jus’ give it an hour, Waka,” he urged, tone oddly persuasive. “If you hate it, we can leave. If you don’t have a chick’s legs wrapped around your neck by the end of the night, I owe you fifty.”
Waka sucked his teeth, irritation melting away with newfound curiosity. “Might do it ‘jus to spite ‘ya,” He retorted.
“Right. Wouldn’t be so sure about that,” Shinichiro replied, a mischievous glint dancing in his eyes. There was something in his tone that raised Wakasa’s suspicion, the slightest feeling that Shinichiro might be up to something. “And don’t be bitchy with me ‘jus because I won’t let you pregame a fuckin’ liquor bar.”
Waka shot Shinichiro a fiery glare, cigarette ember glowing bright, before flicking the thing onto the ground in one deliberate motion. “Blow me,” he muttered beneath his breath.
The two men stood in front of the club’s entrance. Wakasa slowed, locking his gaze onto the club’s exterior. Then, with a reluctant sigh, Waka entered the building.
-
As the night wore on, you found yourself lost in the spell of the music, lost in the endless sea of dancing, grinding bodies. The colored lights were hot against your sweaty skin. You knew the makeup would be melting off of your face by the end of the night if you kept going on at this rate. Hell, your mascara had started migrating already.
Emma’s Just-dance-inspired moves were contagious. The two of you were dancing on one another, performing a routine you seemed to remember all too well for someone who hated playing Just Dance so much.
The club seemed to ebb and flow like a living organism tonight.
You had lost track of time a long time ago. The songs had begun to bleed together seamlessly. Somewhere along the way, you lost your sweater. The dress you had decided to wear was stuck to your waist, plastered down with sweat.
Yet, in spite of this, you were having more fun than you had anticipated.
Your flow was broken only when Emma grabbed you by the arm and led you to an empty corner. The both of you caught your breath.
Cheeks hot and flushed, you sighed contentedly, “I can’t believe I’m saying this, Emma, but you were right.”
“You havin’ fun, girly?” She giggled, giving you a playful sock in the arm. “Told you you’d feel better if you got out of the house.”
You nodded, feeling slightly liberated. She was right. You were actually kind of glad that you came out of your shell for tonight.
Emma raised a playful brow. “You want to get a refresher?”
With a nod and a thin-lipped smile, you let Emma lead you over to the bar.
The two of you took a seat for the second time that evening, taking a moment to cool down and catch your breath.
Emma turned her attention to the bartender – the same one she had just tried to hit on 30 minutes ago, “Two waters, please,” She ordered.
You tuned the bar out after that. Feeling a little melancholic, your eyes scanned the scene. The lights, the bodies, the music, the drinks. It was all so… messy. Yet, still, there was that unmistakable electricity in the air tonight.
Just as you were about to turn back to Emma, your gaze locked onto a figure against the wall. Immediately the recognition set in, and your heart skipped more than a few beats. It seemed to stop altogether.
There, standing in the dim corner, the lights danced over his familiar features – pretty button nose, downturned eyes, arched brows. His hair was back in a messy bun tonight. Even now, he had that passive, unamused look on his face.
He looked exactly the same as he had the day he closed the door on you.
Well, if you want to be technical, you closed the door on him, but you meant that in the metaphorical sense.
His piercing eyes scanned the crowd with a touch of his signature indifference. He exuded an air of mystique, momentarily entrancing you all over again.
And even now, three months later, his effect on you had not wavered.
Emma’s touch on your arm brought you back to the present, breaking the spell he had cast. “Hey,” She asked, concern evident in her voice. “You good?”
Your eyes were drawn back to the entrance, and your heart sank when you spotted your blond, ex-situationship once again. Panic surged through your veins immediately, seizing your lungs. It felt as if the walls of the club had gotten much smaller, all of a sudden.
Waka was standing there by the entrance, only a few yards away, with Shinichiro by his side. He looked every bit as breathtaking as you remembered him to be.
And he was looking right at you.
He can’t see me.
I need to hide.
He can’t see me.
You whipped your head back around towards your friend, flashing her a faux smile. “I’m gonna,” You swallowed, voice unsteady. “I’m gonna go back to the floor.”
Without even waiting for a response, you turned abruptly and slid off of the barstool. Your pulse was racing as you pushed through the wall of bodies behind the bar and made a beeline for the dance floor.
Emma was calling after you. You didn’t care.
The urgency to put distance between you and your past had consumed you whole. The bass pounded in your ears, matching the rapid thrum of your heartbeat. The music drowned out her voice as you merged with the sea of people once again.
Squeezing your eyes shut, you tried your best to lose yourself in the rhythm. Your movements were a frenzied, frantic mess of anxious movements. This time, when the lights flickered over you, the shadows they cast brought back memories of your history, your mistakes.
I will not let him ruin my night, you told yourself.
Yet, still, you dared one last glance around.
It was to scout the area for a suitor. That’s what you told yourself.
Subconsciously, however, you searched for Waka amidst the colorful, blurred throng. Your heart began to race again when you spotted him by the bar, head turning slowly, eyes flitting over the club scene. It looked like he was searching for something.
The realization hit you like a train.
He’s looking for me.

The crowded and noisy bar was not the place to be on a Friday night after a long, tiring day of work. Bodies pressed up one another to the music, the stench of alcohol and booze lingering in the air, loud talking over one another. It was a recipe for a headache. Unfortunately, to her friends, a night out at the bar was a great idea. And so, she ordered a fruity, colorful drink to hopefully distract her.
Minutes passed by, and the drink was forgotten, half-empty and sitting on the bar counter next to her. She swirled the tiny umbrella around the glass, hoping to come up with an excuse to tell her friends why she left early. Her mind sat blank, thinking that just disappearing would cause her friends to panic, and saying that she wants to go home is too straight-forward and a bit rude.
A sigh fell from her mouth as she looked up from her drink, looking around the bar for her friends, hoping that they at least enjoyed their night. It was difficult to spot her friends through the crowd of people in the darkened bar, so after a few minutes of searching and to no avail, she gave up.
She looked at her drink, seeing the mixture of yellow pineapple juice and some alcohol swirl against the ice cubes, before deciding to finish the rest of it. It tasted tangy and sweet on her tongue, the cool liquid helping her calm her nerves for a bit.
After a while, the effects of the drink kicked in, the music was a lot less of a headache to deal with, and the crowd of bodies dancing seemed tempting. Everything seemed more tolerable. Maybe all she needed to do was let loose, and enjoy the night with dancing and drinks.
And so she got up off of the barstool and started walking to the dance floor. She felt a bit more confident now that she wasn’t feeling so tired. Music in the air was livelier than before, the beat of it thumping in her chest, and the crowd kept moving along to it.
She moved to the music, becoming lost in her own world for a bit, enjoying how happy she felt at the moment. The melody seemed to dance in the air and around her, a swirling magic of notes. A smile grew on her face as she swayed in the crowd, feeling confident and not caring what others think.
As she looked up, her eyes met someone, his soft curls sticking to his forehead, his eyes full of laughter, and his lips turning into a smile when his friends told him a joke. He looked like an Ancient Greek sculpture with his strong, and yet gentle blushed cheeks that could be seen in the dim bar lighting.
He took a sip of his drink before setting it down, telling something to his friends, and started making his way over to her. She noticed the way the dark t-shirt hugged his body, how his lips looked so soft, how his eyes seemed to shine even in the dark. When he approached her, she noticed that he smelled like sweet rosewood, and the faint scent of the beer he had earlier lingered on him.
He smiled before speaking to her, his lips moved, but it was impossible to hear him over the loud music in the bar.
“I’m really sorry but I can’t hear you!” she shouted.
He paused for a second before bending down near her ear and spoke, “Should we go somewhere quieter?”
She nodded her head and they both made their way out of the bar, the fresh cool air smooth on their skin. It was much more quiet and calm outside of the bar, but the adrenaline was still coursing through their veins.
“Hey, it’s nice to actually hear you know,” he laughed. His voice was a lot more gentle than she expected, and his laugh was adorable. Warmth radiated off of him in the cooler air, and it was tempting for her to not lean closer to him.
“Yeah,” she chuckled. “What’s your name?”
“Vince.” He stuck out his hand for her to shake.
She took his hand and shook it, noticing how warm it was compared to the cool air. “Nice to meet you Vince, you’re really pretty by the way,” she blurted out.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah,”
His lips curled into a shy smile before he started laughing softly, “Thanks, you’re really stunning,”
A gentle blush rose to her face, lightly dusting her cheeks with pink. The fairy-lights that hung outside the bar glowed softly against the walls and the surroundings. “How is your night going?” she asked politely.
“My night is going pretty well,” he said. “Had some drinks with some friends while catching up, met a gorgeous girl who was dancing tonight,” he smirked at the last bit. “What about you?”
“Oh, I’ve had a pretty fun night.” She responded.
“Yeah? Tell me about it,” he grinned.
“Well first I had a drink, Pineapple Mint Caipirinha. Didn’t enjoy it at first but it started tasting good after a while,”
“Sounds fancy,”
“It’s nothing too crazy.” She shrugged. “If you want I can get you it,”
“Whew, trying to buy me drinks now, miss?” he laughed. “It’s alright you don’t have to, it’s stuffed in there, so we don’t have to go back in.”
“Yeah, I’m going to have to agree with you.”
He nodded his head before speaking again, “Back to the question, anything else fun that you did tonight?” His eyes looked at hers, noticing how the tension between them grew a little.
“After the drinks I started enjoying the night more, danced around for a bit, enjoying the music,” she paused as she turned to face him, her hands trailing up his arms lightly, “met a handsomely fine man,” she went on.
His breath hitched for a bit, getting caught in his throat, and he leaned into her touch. “Yeah?” he asked, barely above a whisper. “Anything else fun you did?” He set his hands on her hips gently, making sure that she was comfortable.
“Nope. But I’d be down for more dancing tonight if you are,” she smiled.
He smiled back and let them both linger in the peaceful silence between them, hearing the occasional car pass by down the street, and the patrons of the bar walking out into the night. Music gently flowed out of the bar from the open door, a gentle hum of the melody could be heard.
“May I have this dance then?” His voice is soft and his eyes sweet. The small light hanging outside of the bar casted a glow behind him, giving him a halo around his head. He looked beyond angelic, and the way he smiled added more to it.
She nodded her head, smiling again once her eyes met his, and they started swaying softly to the music. He held her tenderly, almost as if he was afraid she’d slip out of his hands if he wasn’t careful.
He drifted his hands up to hers, and spun her around, making her let out a laugh that filled the quiet air with sweetness. It was like a never-ending moment between the both of them, their smiles making each other swell with happiness, the warmth in each others’ grasp radiating into the crisp night air.
“Gosh, you’re so gorgeous right now, so pretty since I’ve met you,” he whispered.
“Can say the same about you Vince, you look angelic.” She brushed a stray curl that fell out of place back, noticing the flustered look in his face as her hands gently touched his cheekbones.
He leaned in closer to her, his breath fluttering against her lips. “May I kiss you?”
“Yes please.”
And with that, his lips pressed against hers delicately, closing the space between the two of them. It was a soft, gentle kiss that seemed to last a minute, despite only lasting for a few seconds. They both pulled back for a brief moment, their eyes full of adoration, before they kissed each other again.
The glow of the street-lights looked like little stars dancing around the both of them, a fairy-tale moment almost. When they pulled back once again, they started laughing like two teenagers who just fell in love for the first time.
“You’re so, so lovely,” he spoke softly, his thumbs rubbing circles on her hips. His face and neck were flushed with red, and his smile was bright.
“And so are you,” she said as she pressed a small kiss to his rosy cheek.
Her phone started to ring, the display showing her friend’s name on the screen and she picked up. She let her friends know that she was doing okay and that she was just outside getting some fresh air. Her friends had already left the bar a while back, making her realize how late it was.
Her friend hung up and they both stood there outside of the bar, not wanting the night to come to an end. It was quiet now, the city was starting to sleep, and it became evident that she was as well. She yawned, followed by Vince also yawning, making the both of them laugh.
“Hey Vince? I’m really sorry but I have to end the night.” Disappointment laced her voice. “It’s getting late and I’m a bit sleepy, I had a fun night with you though.”
“Oh no worries, I understand. Do you want me to walk you home, or can you make it home safely on your own?” he asked. It was a simple gesture, but it was extremely thoughtful of him.
“I can get home safely Vince, don’t worry.” She smiled.
“That’s good to hear, but can I ask you a question?”
“Go ahead,”
“Can I get your number? I just really enjoyed the night with you and I’d like to do it again sometime,” he asked nervously.
“Sure,” she responded. “I enjoyed the night as well and I was hoping we could spend more time together,”
He smiled again at her words, appreciating every bit of it. They exchanged numbers before he proposed an idea.
“Can you stand there and smile for me?” he asked, holding his phone up. She did as he said, giving him a big smile as he snapped a photo for the contact image. His heart warmed at the sight of her smile
“Your turn, Vince.” She held her phone up, capturing an image of him with a large grin, his eyes caught mid-blink. She laughed as she selected that image for his contact, knowing that she wouldn’t regret it.
They said their good-byes and as she was walking away, he shouted out to her, “Let me know when you get home safely!” making her feel warm at the gesture.
As she walked away down the street, she felt happy and warm about her night, appreciating how it wasn’t so bad of an idea to go out with her friends. She kept a mental note to herself to thank her friends the next morning for the fun and eventful night.
When she arrived at her home, her shoes discarded to the side, and her bag on a hook near her door, she laid down on her couch and texted Vince about her arrival at her home.
Made it home!

Yippie! - Vince
She laughed at his text, finding it hilarious how just one word from him could’ve made her light up with joy like that. After a couple of minutes, she got off of the couch and started making her way to her room, getting ready to go to bed after the long night.
Before she fell asleep, she sent him one more text.
Goodnight, and sweet dreams <3
You too, sweetheart <3 - Vince

The bar is a dingy little thing down some street in Soho, smoke clouds the room making it harder to see the people sitting in the booths, not that she minded. From where she stood, in the middle of the small stage, she could barely make out the faces of the people who were laughing amongst themselves.
She saw the usual people who attentively listened to their band every week when they did this gig: the guy who would be considered (by most) slightly too old to listen to them, a group of 'edgy' girls and guys who had supported them from the start (their own little fan base), a few of their friends, the usuals.
She stood in front of a microphone, holding her dark green electric guitar, the strap hooked loosely over her shoulders. She wore leather trousers and a black bralette, her hair which was once curled and down now sat in a messy bun on the top of her head.
Her band mates accompanied her, each taking a little break from their set. Her voice filled the small venue and she sounded sure of her self, confident, like she knew her place in the world. And when she was singing, performing, she did, she was home on that stage, on any stage and from the boys say, it was clear as day.
From where Matty, George and Jamie sat, they could see her and her band clearly, but their attention was trained only on her, like it had been the entire night.
"She's really good Jamie, how did you hear about her again?" Matty raises his glass to his mouth after he speaks, his curly mop of hair bouncing as he gestured towards the woman on stage.
"I didn't... George did. She's amazing though, they all are" Matty's eyes flick to George at Jamie's words, who was nursing his own drink, eyes trained on the girl too who was beginning a song on her own.
"She runs in the same circle as Charli" George says and his words surprise Matty. Matty takes in the girl on stage, she was cool, just like Charli, but the music he had heard so far was completely different to hers, more rocky and less poppy, more gritty. She looked like a rockstar and the fact she hung out with Charli's friends surprised him.
"Really? Bit of a different vibe than Char" Matty says, making George nod. It wasn't a bad thing necessary, Matty loved Charli, and obviously George did, but the girl on stage was just... Different.
"I know... Years younger too, but Charli says she's the coolest person she's ever met and that's saying something..." George says, chuckling at the memory of his girlfriend practically fawning over her to him.
"What's her name again?" Jamie asks George, eyes flicking from the stage to George and then back again.
"Y/n, Y/n Y/L/N" Jamie nods, jotting the name down in his phone.
"How have we never heard of her? Never heard her songs?" both Jamie and George shrug at Mattys words, the three of them falling silent and listening to her sing. It was a slower song than before and they hadn't realised she had swapped her electric guitar for an acoustic one. The song stops and she smiles at the people who clapped, the group of people who the guys had now identified as her 'fans' cheered and she laughed at them, throwing a hand their way as if to say "stop it" all with a huge smile on her face.
"Thank you" she says, handing her guitar to someone off stage, before they see the bassist of the band walk over to her, hooking an arm around her shoulders and pulling her towards them. They watch as they black haired bassist whispers something into her ear before she pulls away. The girl they now know as Y/n is then looking directly at them, she doesn't smile, she smirks, before they hear her speak to her microphone.
"So... We have some special guests in tonight" they hear her say. Matty and George's attention is quickly turned away by someone joining their table: Ross.
"Took your time getting here" George's eyes flick from the tall man to the girl on stage, not wanting to miss a single moment, especially now her words were directed towards them.
"Got here as soon as I could, now what's the emergency?" Ross asks, sitting down next to Matty.
Matty points to the stage and Ross' eyes follow him, breath faltering as his eyes landed on her, smiling at him, at them. He didn't often get breathless, but she was truly beautiful, and undeniably cool. As crazy as it was to say, to even think, Ross felt some kind of magnetic pull towards her, instant feeling like a fool for even thinking it, because seriously? Who believes in that? Definitely not him.
"I've been a fan of this band since I was 15... I'm now 24... anyway this is completely unplanned but we've got to give our guests a warm welcome" she nods at them, her words making them all smile. Matty nods at her, a silent thank you and she awkwardly waves back. Her eyes flick to Ross, who she finds staring at her, mouth slightly agape. He feels goosebumps rise to his skin when she sends another smile his way.
"Jesus she's ballsy" Ross says with a smirk on his face, only tearing his eyes from her for a sllit second. They hear the opening guitar of Pressure being played, by her, not the guitarist, her.
"She's fucking good man" George says, visibly getting excited as they listen to them play.
She's hot, she's beautiful, she's amazing Ross thinks.
We need to know her, I need to know her Matty thinks.
Jamie watches with a smirk too, thoroughly impressed.
"She makes Hann look shit" George says, all of the guys present laughing at his words.
"And me..." Matty says, making the three of them laugh again. They all watch in awe, clapping and cheering when the song finishes.
"We have to sign her to the label " Matty says and Jamie nods, calculating a plan in his mind, already searching her name on Google to find out if she had a record deal, a label, anything. The search reveals a few tweets about her band, a small fan base, her Instagram profile and the bands page but no information about whether they had a label or a record deal and the man shakes his head, shocked at this revelation.
They're surprised to see her standing from the stage, passing the guitar to someone off stage, she lets her hair loose from the confines of it's bun and Ross watches in awe as it falls in soft curls down her back. He realises his mouth is hanging open when she begins walking towards them, a soft smile resting against her mouth. Ross saw something sparkle in her eyes, he wasn't sure what it was, but he sure as hell wanted to find out. The idea frightened him to no end but he always felt excitement buzz in his stomach.
"The 1975... Well three of you anyway" the guys smile at her words, not out of politeness or necessity but because she genuinely made them smile. The fact she knew about them, although not utterly surprising, made them happy and for whatever reason, made them feel special.
"Y/N... I know your girlfriend" she extends her hand to George who smiles and shakes her hand.
"I know... I have to say when Charli told me how talented you were I didn't think she meant THAT talented. You're amazing" George says and she smiles, then thanks him.
Matty notices that she was the box tattoo on her wrist, he reminds himself to ask about that later but for now he smirks to himself.
"Matty" he says, offering her his hand to shake.
"I know... Big fan..." She says smiling "of all of you to be honest" she says, Matty can't help but feel proud at her words and maybe he felt something else too, excitement maybe? Her eyes then land on Ross... The one her bandmates knew she had a crush on.
"Ross Macdonald, lovely to meet you darling" he says placing his hand in hers, the tingles they both felt were hard to ignore.
"The bassist..." She says making him nod, her words are laced with something he can't put his finger on. Was it awe? Was it interest? Was it intrigue? He didn't know.
"The bassline for Love Me is one of my favourites... I forced Clara our bassists to learn it when we started playing with each other" she says making Ross smile, she throws a hand over her shoulder, gesturing to a black haired girl walking off the stage. The bassist smiles at them and y/n waves as she smirks back at her.
"Clara" she explains, they all nod.
"What brings you to this bar then? Not really your scene is it?" Her words are accompanied by an eyebrow raise, one which is almost challenging them.
"Charli told us you'd be here tonight" Jamie says "sorry I'm Jamie, the boys manager" she nods.
"We want to sign you to our label, dirty hit" he blurts it right now. He never acted like this, but just like he knew with the 1975, he knew she was it. She had starpower.
"Wow... Okay, guess we need to get to know each other then" she says, sitting down with them, right next to Ross, who was sitting with his arm resting behind her on the booth. She can't help but smirk when he doesn't remove it.

You were a solo artist in SM and got on with all the other groups really. You were a social butterfly known for being loud and confident. You were closest to NCT, being a similar age to them and that's how you found yourself sat with Johnny, Taeyong and Yuta at a party. When Johnny enquired about your love life you told him about your recent awful first date which had all the guys in stitches.
"So I'm basically never going to find someone" you said and Taeyong shook his head "bullshit, you'll find a guy who can keep up with you eventually". "When Taeyong? When!" you cried shaking him and Taeyong laughed pretending he hadn’t just discovered you were way stronger than him. "You know who I think would really suit you?" Johnny asked and you looked at him "if you say Mark I'm going to punch you". Taeyong and Yuta both laughed but Johnny shook his head "no you'd eat Mark alive! Jaehyun". You froze "Jaehyun...why?" but the others were all agreeing. "You'd look so cool together!" Taeyong said and Yuta nodded "plus they have the same energy, they'd be so badass". You frowned "but isn't Jaehyun like really quiet and shy?" you asked. The guys all paused and you sat up taller "okay I need to know what that look was! Is he secretly really kinky or something?". Johnny laughed "let's just say once you get past his shyness he's a little different". "Look at her face" Yuta laughed and you smiled because he was right, you were suddenly a lot more interested in the quietest member of NCT127. You were also friends with Seventeen and recalled DK went to school with Jaehyun and after many awkward interactions, they were now friends of sorts. So you went over to Seventeen and started chatting with DK about him. "Yeah he was pretty cool and nice, why?" DK asked and you shrugged "nothing just NCT suggested we'd be a good match and I was really confused why" but all of Seventeen began nodding. "I totally see that!" Joshua said and Vernon nodded "yeah me too, you'd look really good together". "You have complimenting personalities" Mingyu said and you frowned "really? Hmm okay" and Joshua nodded "plus you're clearly attracted to him so...". "I am not!" you cried and he grinned "yes you are or you wouldn't be asking about him. If they'd shipped you with a guy you don't like there's no way you'd be asking for details about him". You shrugged supposing that was true "I mean Jaehyun's not bad looking" you said and then Joshua's eyes widened. "What?" you asked laughing "we just all agreed I think Jaehyun's hot". Joshua pointed behind you and you saw Jaehyun was stood 2 meters away where the line for the bar was. They all shushed you but an idea came to you and thinking you were the smartest person in world, you carried on talking but in English...because you had no idea Jaehyun could understand English too.
"He is good-looking, he's got really nice cheekbones and hair and his smile is pretty cute. Plus from what I've heard he plays a lot of sport so I bet he's also very strong". Joshua nodded still glancing at Jaehyun "yeah...so you'd be interested in him?". You nodded "yeah I would be" and Vernon nodded before relaxing "okay he's gone now" and you all returned to Korean. "How clever was that" you cried high-fiving the boys "look at us bilingual queens!". Joshua and Vernon looked at one another and you paused "what?". "Erm...you know Jahehyun can speak fluent English right?" Vernon asked and you paused "WHAT! No! I would never have done that if I knew he could understand me! Why didn't any of you stop me?". "I thought you were doing that on purpose so he'd know you like him!" Vernon said and you shook your head "no!". Vernon cringed "Well this is awkward" and you nodded "yes Vernon it is!". Joshua shook his head "don't worry though, he didn't seem weirded out by it or anything, he was smiling". "He was smiling?" you asked and Joshua nodded making you smile too. When you passed the NCT127 table later on Johnny called out to you. Jaehyun wasn't there but you could tell by all the looks on the member's faces that they all knew what happened. "So Y/n...good night?" Johnny asked. You blushed "I didn't know he could speak English okay? I thought I was being really smart and sneaky but no". The guys all burst out laughing and you blushed "stop it!". "Hey don't worry it's fine" Taeil said and Mark nodded "I've done the same thing". "Really?" you asked and he paused before shaking his head "well no but I wanted to make you feel better". You laughed "well thanks Mark! Anyway I'm never speaking to him again". Johnny shook his head "no come on it was cute! Jaehyun liked it". "He did? He said that?" you asked and the guys nodded. "Now he knows you definitely like him" Yuta said "so the two of you can start flirting". "Yeah right, I'm pretty sure I've scared him off forever" you said when you realised all the guys were gesturing behind you. You turned to see Jaehyun making his way back from the bar and he paused seeing you. Luckily he hadn't heard what you were saying (this time) but he could clearly guess. "Hi" he said and you nodded to him "hi...I'm Y/n" you said "I feel like after everything tonight I should probably introduce myself". You knew of each other but had never spoken so it only seemed right to start here and Jaehyun smiled. "Of course I already know who you are but it's nice to meet you" and he shook your outstretched hand "I'm Jaehyun...but you obviously already know that". You smiled "I do but it's nice to actually talk to you and not to others about you...in a language you can already understand". Jaehyun laughed "that was pretty funny...yeah I lived in America for 4 years so know the language". You smiled "that's very cool, wanna tell me about it?" and gestured for you to sit together. Jaehyun smiled "I'd like that" and followed you. His members stared awestruck. "How did Y/n come back from that?" Jungwoo asked "she was so chill and cute about it". Doyoung shrugged "pretty, social people have that power, they can talk their way into or out of anything". "She is powerful" Haechan agreed "also did you see the way Jaehyun was looking at her?". Johnny grinned "this is why I suggested them, I knew Jaehyun would be attracted to her confidence!". "He totally was and even flirting a little!" Haechan said and they all nodded. "They will be a good match" Yuta said sipping his drink "I'm excited to see where this goes". Meanwhile, you and Jaehyun were getting to know one another and you asked Jaehyun to tell you about himself. "I've heard a lot of things from different people so I'm curious how you'd actually describe yourself" you said resting your hand on your chin and Jaehyun panicked because you looked really good and were undoubtedly more interesting than him. He started giving the typical explanation of where he was from, how he became a singer etc and you smiled. "Don't worry I'm not interviewing you, I just want to know what you like" you explained and Jaehyun felt a little better for that. "I don't know, I'm quite sporty" Jaehyun said "do you play any sports?". You smiled and Jaehyun leaned forwards "what?". You carried on smiling "yeah I used to play sports...but then I got banned so I don't anymore". "You got banned?" Jaehyun cried "for what?". "Being too aggressive" you laughed "to my own team...". "What?" Jaehyun asked and you explained how you were too competitive and would sometimes disapprove of choices your teammates made. "So now I just do solo sports" you laughed "running, swimming, weightlifting, cycling, stuff like that. What about you?". Jaehyun started listing off all the sports he played and you laughed "wow okay! Are you sure you're not a part-time athlete as well as an idol?". Jaehyun laughed shaking his head "no I'm not that good I just enjoy it" and then he paused as he saw you scanning him. "What are you doing?" he laughed and you shrugged "just out of everything people told me nobody mentioned you were really fit and I'm just wondering why". Jaehyun blushed "I'm really not...plus you're in great shape too". You turned to him "and how would you know? Have you been checking me out?". Jaehyun went bright pink and began babbling until you smiled at him "I'm joking, I feel like working in this industry you can't help seeing a lot of each other". Jaehyun nodded "yeah that's true and something I've always tried to fight against. I don't like showing too much of myself it just feels weird". You found that sweet and smiled "and that's totally your call. You get to decide what you show if anything and showing everything or nothing is okay". "Exactly!" Jaehyun said "I'm not opposed to people showing off their body, I actually think it's really great it's just not for me". You smiled "yeah I usually go through phases, when I feel good about my body I'm happy to show it but when I'm not I like to hide away". "Well I haven't been staring but I have noticed a little and I think you should always be happy with your body" Jaehyun said and smiled "you know, you're really good at flirting" and Jaehyun blushed "thank you...if you'd like to see more of it we could go out on a date?". Jaehyun returned to the table with your phone number, a date with you and a huge smile. The guys all chattered excitedly as he came back over and then looked at him. "So?" Johnny asked and Jaehyun blushed looking down "we've got a date next weekend". The guys all cheered and Jaehyun tried to shush them because you were only across the room with Seventeen and would hear. Sure enough, you heard and all looked over. You saw Jaehyun trying to shush them and then freeze as your eyes fell on him. Jaehyun smiled apologetically and you grinned back. Jaehyun just had a feeling right there, he was going to love that smile. During your first date with Jaehyun, you weren't sure if Nct were just making him sound edgier than he was. Don't get you wrong, he was perfect. He was a gentleman, he was funny, he was great company and he looked amazing but you didn't see this dark horse that had been promised. Not until he kissed you. You honestly weren't sure if Jaehyun was feeling this. He was hard to read and hadn't made any big moves during dinner so you half-expected a text from him when you got home saying he just wanted to be friends. However, as you were walking to his car you dropped your bag and Jaehyun rushed to pick it up for you. He stood up and wad close to your face and he passed it not stepping back "here" he said and you smiled "you're quite the hero aren't you?". "I'd rescue you any day" he said in his deep voice and you blushed, surprised at where this had come from and how he could turn it on so quickly. "Really?" you asked "I can never tell if you're attracted to me or not". Jaehyun nodded "I am, how about I show you?". You nodded and he cupped your chin before kissing you. Jaehyun was an insanely good kisser and that's when you got it. The way he caressed your body but barely even touched you sent shivers down your spine. How he made the kiss feel effortless and like you'd always just been right here kissing him. This was the side NCT meant and you loved it, so you enjoyed it. You pulled Jaehyun towards you by his hips and his eyes opened in surprise. You smiled up at him "don't tell me that's all I'm getting, I want more...". "You can have whatever you want" he said his hands finally finding your waist and you smiled like the giddiest woman alive. When Jaehyun realised you may be able to withstand more of this than him he broke away and looked at you. You saw the hesitation in his eyes, how he wondered if to take things further or not and you took his hands. Jaehyun was insanely hot and skilled but you knew he was still introverted and didn't want to push him to do anything he wasn't comfortable with. So you made the decision for him "that was amazing, I can't wait for our second date". You saw Jaehyun relax a little and he nodded "but I haven't even got to ask you yet". "I'm pretty sure that did it all for you" you smiled and Jaehyun finally blushed. Apart from another quick kiss as you got out of the car, you let the boy rest after your first date. You'd gotten a glimpse of the passion beneath and you wanted to make sure the fire was firmly stocked before unleashing it.
You and Jaehyun carried on dating and it was very similar. You’d have a good date, a great kiss that always left you both wanting more but you’d sense Jaehyun’s nerves and pulled back. You were enjoying yourself and so was Jaehyun. Everything between you was fresh, unexpected and fun...as proof of this, your fourth date wasn't even meant to be a date. The guys were having a games day and so Jaehyun invited you to join, knowing how much you loved Mario Kart. However, that morning all the boys except for Jaehyun, Yuta and Johnny got called into the studio for an emergency recording session. Yuta claimed he didn't want to be around a hot young couple and so it was just you, Jaehyun and Johnny which was fine. The three of you actually had a lot of fun and played tons of games but then after a while, Johnny decided he should go see how things were going at the studio leaving the two of you alone. You did both pause as Johnny left the room as you now had the house to yourself. It wasn't that you couldn't be left alone just it was much more tempting to keep going beyond a kiss in the privacy of your own home...but you told yourself that likely wouldn't happen anyway and put the next game in. You played a racing game and you really liked these games because you were good at them...but so was Jaehyun. This made your competitive side come out and you really wanted to win. Everything was going well, you were approaching the finish line on your final lap in first place when you got hit by a weapon. Your character spun around as you desperately tried to get over the line and Jaehyun tried to get passed you. You finally got your character facing forwards and were so close to the finish line but as you went to cross it, Jaehyun pipped you across and you cried out in anger and flopped back onto the sofa. "Noooooo!" you whined and Jaehyun smiled down at you before he flopped onto his back too "I'm sorry I'm so good and won" he told you and you gasped turning onto your side so you could see him. "You didn't win because you're good you won because you got lucky!" you cried poking him in the chest. Jaehyun smiled "I didn't know you were a sore loser" and you pouted and went to turn away but he snook his hands around your waist and began to tickle you. You squealed and begged him to stop and he told you he would if you turned around to face him and so you did. "Better?" you asked now that you could see one another and Jaehyun nodded. He had a smile on his face but was now serious "yes". The way he said yes made you blush and he smiled because you looked so pretty right now and you were here with him...only inches away. You could see the thoughts forming in Jaehyun's head and smiled  "can I help you with something?". "Yes" Jaehyun said and he kissed you. At first, you were smiling because Jaehyun was pretty cute but he soon banished that word from your mind. Like always, you were surprised at how good a kisser he was and were soon lost in kissing him. You wanted more and moved, pushing him back slightly so you could hover over him. In response Jaehyun sat up, taking you with him and placing your legs securely on either side of him. This was a lot better angle and you nodded "good thinking". "Anything that makes it easier to kiss you" he replied and carried on. Jaehyun could feel your hands toying with the bottom of his top and could tell you wanted to remove it but you didn't want to pressure him. He was more than happy to remove it but wanted to tease you a little more and make you really want him. Finally pulled back and caught your hands in his "lost something Y/n?" he asked. You were not happy with his sarcasm and shot him a pouty angry look which was delicious. Jaehyun could practically see your frustration fighting your morality which was trying not to push Jaehyun but the funny thing was, he was more than ready for this. "Here" he said and lifted his shift off his body "happy?" he asked. You scanned his body before smiling "so happy" and Jaehyun smiled as you rushed to kiss him again. You wasted no time getting acquainted with Jaehyun's famous chest and definitely picked up your intensity, so much so it was now Jaehyun who was struggling. No matter what you did he just wanted more. He pulled you even closer to him and that still that wasn't enough. The second he touched your own top it was off and the sight was glorious but still not enough. When you could feel him getting restless you started rocking your hips slightly and that was when Jaehyun was ready to burst. He paused pulling back "would you like to go upstairs?". You nodded and quickly hopped up and laughed running for the stairs. Jaehyun caught you on them and couldn't resist a small pit stop. He picked you up and propped you up on the wall and was having a lot of fun. You forgot there was anyone else in the house until Yuta walked by and shot you both a look. Luckily Jaehyun was very much focused on you otherwise you think he might've been embarrassed to be caught like this. Yuta smirked and shot you a thumbs-up before going into his room and Jaehyun was none the wiser. "Why don't you take me to your room?" you asked figuring that might be safest and Jaehyun nodded "let's go" and carried you up the last few steps. Once you were alone in his room things progressed even quicker. Jaehyun was well and truly ready for this and from his actions, you guessed he might've imagined this a few times. He was incredibly hot and you made a mental note to thank the guys again but Jaehyun immediately worked to get rid of any thought except for him...and he did it. Afterwards, neither of you wanted to move. Jaehyun had you in a very comfortable hug and you were convinced there was nothing that could make you leave his arms. Then he received a text from Johnny that they were all on their way home and you remembered you'd left a trail of clothes to Jaehyun's room. "We should go get them" you told Jaehyun who nodded "yeah but we've got time until they get back" and nuzzled your neck. You smiled at the sensation but tried to stay focused "well why don't I just quickly go grab them and come back?". "But then you'd have to go" Jaehyun said putting his hands firmly around your waist and you nodded "yeah but the sooner I go the sooner I get back". "No just let them see the clothes I don't care" Jaehyun announced and you smiled "who are you and what have you done with Jaehyun?". He blushed but shrugged "if I had to choose between you getting out of this bed and the members teasing me, I'd pick the last one". You smiled "I'm already corrupting you" and kissed him. "Don't worry, I wasn't that innocent anyway" Jaehyun replied which would've floored you typically but you had a mission in mind. You carried on kissing Jaehyun, manoeuvring him onto his back and waited until he loosened his arms and hopped out of bed, Jaehyun made a whiney noise which was honestly music to your ears and you smiled "I'll be two seconds and grabbed one of his t-shirts and shorts to quickly put on. Jaehyun watched you with an angry pout and he looked so hot that was extra motivation to get back to him quickly. The truth was you'd worn your favourite shirt here and you didn't trust you'd get it back in the same state if all the boys came trampling through the living room. So you hurried downstairs collecting the clothes and reached the living room where you had to hunt for Jaehyun's t-shirt. You'd just got them all when the front door opened and of course, all the remaining members walked in. You quickly put Jaehyun's shirt to the bottom of your pile so they wouldn't see it and fixed a smile on your face "hey how was work?". "Tiring" Taeil told you flopping onto the sofa and Jungwoo nodded "my eyes hurt". "Aww you poor things" you said and were trying to make a break for it but Johnny smirked "what've you got there Y/n?". "Erm nothing..." you said "just doing some cleaning". "Isn't that Jaehyun's t-shirt?" Haechan asked and you cursed remembering you had his t-shirt on. You shrugged "no it's mine". "You sure?" Doyoung asked and you nodded "completely". "So you and Jaehyun didn't get up to anything while you had the house to yourselves?" Johnny asked. You shook your head when someone tutted "yes you did, I caught you on the staircase because you couldn't make it to his room" Yuta said and all the guys burst out laughing. They all began teasing you and congratulating you and you rolled your eyes. "Just be happy I came to gather the things we left behind, I was trying to be nice". "Where's Jaehyun?" Mark asked and you told them he was upstairs. "So we've been at work all day and he's been here with Y/n?" Jungwoo asked "and he's still upstairs recovering!". "I'm just glad he finally did something, he was going crazy about you" Taeil said and as you spotted a figure at the top of the stairs you smile "oh really, Jaehyun did you hear that?". The guys all turned and the cheering started anew. Jaehyun had a big smile on his face but still blushed at their comments. "I came to see if you'd ambushed her" Jaehyun said coming to stand in front of you  "leave her alone" he said taking your hand and leading you away. The guys all made jokes about him being protective already and still blushing, Jaehyun led you upstairs. Jaehyun closed the door and you smiled, arms folded "you really did mean what you said about rescuing me huh?". Jaehyun nodded "yep but to be fair I knew you'd be fine down there...I just wanted to show off a little". You grinned "really, impressed with yourself huh?". Jaehyun looked you up and down and nodded "very". You smiled "now I believe you offered some incentive to get me to return here quickly, what was it again?". In response Jaehyun shook off his shirt and you smiled "that was it" and started right where you left off.

This will be a two part series and part two is out now! Click HERE to read the next part.
Okay I know I’m really late to this realisation but how freaking hot is Jaehyun?!? This series was inspired because I’m not buying Jaehyun’s innocent little face and I think/hope he’s got a darker side to him and wanted to imagine what that might look like. Enjoy ;)
