#there are topics that kids media doesn't cover well

Text
hey. don't let go of media just because you're older than the target audience. my dad is 61 and watches the cartoons he loved as a kid.
BUT
consume media meant for your age group, too. you might find something you like and, more importantly, your brain needs to consume morals and lessons beyond what stories aimed at kids can provide.
you don't have to grow out of your favorite things but you do have to grow into new things. that is all

nishimura riki + fem! reader. word count 1,5k. not idols au/school au. warnings stalking (?) this one-shot is probably the most unserious thing i've ever written. not proofread.
Tumblr media
"i checked your twitter account," said riki, trying to maintain a serious face and failing miserably, a few giggles came out of his mouth while he attempted to act normal.
"eh? that's not possible, my account is private" you looked at him with confusion, trying to decipher his weird laugh.
your twitter account has been a recurrent topic since both became friends, first of all because; who doesn't have twitter? it was the diary of the new generations, most of the teenagers had a profile in there! of course, you were one of them, but the way that you treated your account like confidential information made the japanese boy pretty suspicious.
it was a private account with no more than 15 followers, most of them probably were internet friends because it wasn't a novelty that you were not social by any means, on the contrary, you could be considered a loner, because of that, the apparent "state secret" hiding in your profile made ni-ki more than curious about what you could be secreting.
"i don't want you to get mad at me" pleaded, following that he proceeded to show you an interesting account that you knew well.
a profile named 'riri', with one of those famous headers with silly quotes you can find on pinterest and as an icon an orange cat with the emoji ☝️ referring to the recent meme that became viral, to finalize the bio was decorated with the phrase 'proud hater'. you got a request from that account just a few weeks ago, it followed most of the people you followed so it wasn't any suspicious to you, besides that's how you made a few of your friends! Following or being followed by oomfs of your oomfs, that's how social media works.
"that's you?" your voice raised annoyed and nervous, "you used that account to stalk me?!" with anger, you got up from your seat on the school rooftop.
"i wanted to know why you're hiding things from me!" his tone matched yours, being not loud enough to be heard by the other students who navigated through the school.
"if i hide things from you there's a reason!" your mood escalated from there, not only did your anger grow bigger but an immense urge to cry hit you.
“i-i know… I’m sorry y/n, i thought it would be something stupid, not that you like me”
riki brings your biggest secret into the conversation without any filter, dropping it like a not-warned bomb that fell into you and unloaded the last level of emotions you were hiding on a facade of pure rage.
now everything made sense, his giggly laugh without a reason while looking at you, the weird things he said that seemed like an inner joke you could not understand, the weird “i know your secret” he released randomly in your conversations... you thought it was all a joke! it's nishimura riki that we’re talking about. He enjoys pranking and tends to do and say weird stuff, it could be a completely normal behavior for him, but no, this time it wasn't.
“why did you think doing this was a good idea?” you claimed, hiding your face between the palms of your hands while a few tears slid down your face.
“sunoo once said that he knows you like me, so heeseung gave me the idea of stalking your accounts for any signal but your accounts are private… so he helped me by making a stalking account, i know it was wrong. i'm sorry, please don't cry” he begged after confessing everything, trying to get near you therefore he could calm you at least a little bit.
“sunoo and heeseung know?!” you blurted, your eyes opened as if you were trying to imitate an owl’s gaze, and your hands transitioned from covering your face to holding it, any similarity with ‘the scream’ by edvard munch is just a coincidence.
“the whole group knows” announced, opening the hell gates with a simple phrase.
“riki are you kidding me?! i don't care that you know even if you violated my privacy, because i would've told you sooner or later, but your friends?! how humiliating, i’m never coming to school again” and the catharsis started, a big flow of verbal vomit came out of your mouth going from ‘they're probably making fun of me right now’ to ‘i’m gonna delete all my social media and never use my phone again’ all of this accompanied by fat tears.
the poor boy felt hopeless, watching you practically going insane in front of him without knowing what to do to help you, or more reasonably: how to amend his mistake. luckily for him, his guardian angels appeared in the scene to help him, hiding behind the door of the rooftop heeseung (the one responsible for this mess) and jungwon (a heart warmed soul who wanted to help his friend) were hiding, their faces full of horror admiring the scene that was unloading in front of them. what happens next is worthy of a comedic movie. His friends started a physical and exaggerated demonstration of how he should calm you, hugging each other and emphasizing comfort acts such as back patting and forehead kissing. ni-ki would've burst out laughing if it wasn't for you crying like a baby.
“please don't cry, i’m sorry, you can beat me all you want if it makes you feel better” proposed completely seriously, while slowly without trying to upset you more he got closer, searching to imitate the “comforting” hug he saw his friends do, let's not lie… it was a bit awkward, but he tried and that's okay.
gradually you ended up relinquishing the embrace, starting by clinging to him delicately and finishing by squeezing his torso the strongest you could.
“beating you is not enough, i need you to die” your voice came out weird because of the amount of strength you were applying to the “hug”, but despite that, your head relied on his chest.
“you will suffer a lot without me!” a small laugh flew out of his mouth, refreshing the conversation. “are you still mad at me?” the nishimura looked down, searching for your face and any kind of reaction from it.
“yes” your response was cut and short, it could've worried your crush if it wasn't for the water dripping off your nose because of all the crying.
“u-uhm, i have something to tell you, maybe this will help you feel better” his heart started to beat faster and you could feel it through the hug, he cleared his throat in a way of trying to shake the nerves out, “the reason i did all of this stupid plan was that… i had hopes that you talked about me there, uhm…” a small pause to take a big breath after the confession interrupted the moment, but he quickly picked up the conversation, “my friends encouraged me to confess, specially sunoo, you know that he has a sixth sense with gossip” joked.
“you're telling me that… you did all of this because you like me?” you asked dumbfounded, the question got him more embarrassed than he already was, why did it make him sound so stupid?
he nodded, ignoring your attempt at visual contact while trying to hold back his smile. “then, do you feel better now?”
“no” denied, “but i know what can make me feel better” and after saying that, a naughty smile appeared on your face.
“what? i will buy you a lot of food from the cafeteria if that's what you want-”
his phrase got interrupted by you, who continued speaking, “do you remember… when i found that folder on your phone that had a ton of pictures of you trying to fake your muscles? how would you feel if i told your friends about it?” ni-ki’s smile disappeared instantly, now his face reflected nothing more than true terror.
in a matter of seconds, your bodies separated and you started running to the rooftop door. riki knew what you were trying to do, getting into the school, searching for his friends, and revealing his shameful secret! this can't be, but after being a bad friend things were not on his side, he tried following you the fast as he could but forgot a small detail, his friends hiding behind the gate. as soon as you got to the exit the spot where the two boys were hiding got exposed and both seemed nervous about that, but you couldn't care less.
“hi, guys! it's so nice to see you, i have something amazing to tell you!” your acting, so giggly and happy relaxed jungwon and heeseung who were scared of being scolded for spying. “did you know that riki-”
at that exact moment, the japanese covered his ears, not wanting to hear all the things you might be saying to his comrades who surely were going to make fun of him until the day he died. well, at least he can make fun of them because he got a girlfriend (even if you aren't his girlfriend yet) and they don't!

Random HC's That I Probably Overexplain - Cater Edition 1!
TW: Angst heavy, using kids for profit via social media, emotional/physical abuse (nothing explicit/gory) His mom was a family life vlogger. I've dabbled on this topic a few times before, but never got really into it. His mom ran a channel called the "Beloved Diamond Family", in which his mother went by Dreamy Diamond, and his older sisters went by Dazzling and Ditzy Diamond. He was "Daring Diamond" or sometimes just called "Little Gem/Diamond". "Daddy Diamond" was never around, but his mom sometimes went on rants about him on camera. They rarely made it onto the channel though. Part of the reason the Diamonds moved so much is because of his dad's work, but the other part was because of how much information his mom would divulge and put her kids in danger. Cater's dad did his best to protect his kids from the consequences of her actions, but couldn't get ahead of them. Cater was the star of many of the videos, as he was the baby and everyone wanted to see more of him. He hated being made to do everything that his mom said, or repeating the actions a hundred times until he got it "perfect", but the comments of other parents telling him how much their kids loved him and whatnot was enough to keep him going. It's also why he's so attached to his phone now and a big part of why he just keeps up the facade. To be caught at a less than picture perfect moment or with a subpar reaction at this point scares him. Irrationally, he worries about his mothers reaction, and because he's never really been to school for long enough to make friends, he has to act the only way he knows how and hope that people keep liking the show he puts on. A lot of the videos were pretty fluffy, happy videos, but Ms. Diamond would do anything for views, and did put out videos of Cater sobbing over his dead pet, about him breaking his arm on his skateboard, and a lot of her "prank" videos that were mostly just endangering her kids or trying to prove her husband was cheating. (At one point she did a "slip and slide" in the kitchen and called Cater over to try some of her cookies. He couldn't have been more than five or six, so he came running in excited and ended up in urgent care. All the scars and marks he got from his moms wacked out ideas have been carefully hidden under makeup and magic for years now, but sometimes he doesnt have the energy to cover them up on his clones). Obviously, none of the Diamond kids were off very well, but when they were "too big to be cute anymore" his mom kind of let the channel die out and became a more severe alcoholic. However, when her channel started to pick up traction again years later, Ms. Diamond decided to keep her channel going with behind the scenes clips and telling stories about her kids while mildly tipsy. She didn't tell her kids she was going to do this, and now that they're all 18 and over they want to stop her, but don't want to cause more drama from her. Cater's bigger sister wants to take her to court for everything she's done, but Cater and his eldest sister just want to ignore it and sweep it under the rug like nothing is going on because it hurts too much to revisit the things they used to have to do. Cater's mom is...a BoyMom. Like she is Not Normal about her son to a creepy uncomfortable extent and Cater doesn't know how to deal with it, he mostly tries to break contact with her, but she is relentless and a master guilt tripper. He had been looking forward to his 18th birthday to officially disown her or put a restraining order on her, but never had the heart to actually do it, because...it is his mom, and family never abandons each other unless you want to be a piece of shit, right? (This is not serious, please, if you have family that doesn't treat you well don't be afraid to leave if you can)

I need a no capes au that’s just high school drama. Gotham academy gossip about the older Wayne brothers Dickey (a senior) and Jason (a Junior) and there little freshman bother (he was put up two whole grades bc he’s a genius) that they drag around and never put down. They always got that cute little baby faced Timmy sitting in their lap.
Or maybe he’s not adopted yet, and rumour has it he as dating both brothers!! :0🤭
It goes around the school that someone saw little Timmy behind the science building with both of them!! ‘Did you hear?!? He’s not even 13 yet!!’
He was already the hot topic of school gossip but no one could have guess that there could have been anything more scandalous then a freshman dating TWO! Other students but brothers?! They were proven wrong when Timmy is adopted and becomes a Wayne as well!!! 😵😯😮🥴
OR
maybe all the batkids are all Bruce’s from various affairs all different mothers. Because ‘Brucie’ isn’t a cover in this universe he’s just always like that to some degree and he ends up with all the kids from all his babies mummas for various reasons but mostly because he loves them!!
I just need a fucked up incestuous family dynamic that is just all rich people behaviour and super out of touch.
Oh perfect for Casstim twincest my beloved! Maybe real twins tht are the only two that share both the same parents or are just the same age with different mothers and quickly becoming inseparable and loved to play house together. 🥰
I need messy MESSY public family drama! Exes selling stories to the media. Leaked videos big scandals and weird dark family dynamics.
I want 2000’s Paris Hilton style behaviour from these children after school and into early adulthood. They are all the princes and princesses of this city and they ARE entitled limo hoping heirs to the Gotham high society. And I NEED all of Gotham overly invested in it.
Ps I love you x
aw ❤️❤️❤️!!!! you're so nice ❤️
and yes!!!
!!!!!!!!!!! bruce being their actual bio dad from numerous one night stands and affairs is so good!!!! all of them are related and have incesty fucked up dynamics only bruce doesn't think it's wrong and also genuinely isn't paying attention to them most of the time to even notice. he loves them duh! he just doesn't find them interesting most of the time so if it turns out they're fucking well who is he to stop them. even when the media catches on because bitter exes do tell-alls about the fucky wayne family bruce just shrugs and says kids will be kids. even when questioned about a leaked video of little 13 year old tim being fucked by his older brothers bruce just rolls his eyes and says 'well who hasn't wanted to fuck tim'?
all of them and their bad/weird reputations and how they don't care because they're young, rich, and spoiled kids of a billionaire who is too busy going out to make more kids to notice theyre fucking each other

Jedi Service Corps
The Legends-fueled propaganda of "bad students get sent to the Agricorp/Services" has always bothered me. First of all, forcing kids into a career not of their choosing isn't the best way to encourage them to perform well.
The Services in general seem to get a bad rap, and TBH it's kind of bizarre to assume that every kid who winds up being taken in by the Jedi wants to grow up to be a cop. LOL!
There is so much untapped potential being ignored, and even within the four pseudo-canon branches there's a lot to explore.
Agriculture. Farmers Without Borders. LOL! It isn't just about growing plants, it's about analyzing trends, understanding ecosystems, geology, climatology, politics, etc. There's mechanical engineering so you know how to fix the machines that do the hardest labor (often illegally, given corporate software locks and so forth). Probably a lot of fiddly stuff with plant genetics, too, given similar issues with seed corporations.
Being Jedi, I'm sure they're also aware of the need to include "ornamental" plants to help with the emotional welfare of hurting/devastated populations.
Education. This field must be fucking wild. Sure, you have your future creche masters and archivists, but I imagine there are those who do public outreach, too, and go to schools to teach kids about what the Jedi do beyond waving laser swords. There's probably also a need for teachers in isolated/rural areas to help with basic things like reading, writing, and maths. Ditto areas devastated by wars and natural disasters, where kids need a safe distraction from trauma. I bet Educorp and Agricorp team up more often than people might think.
There's also the sheer variety of topics. Even something basic like history will have a wide net. Galactic history, region-specific, planetary, etc. And then there's the arts. Music, singing, dance, physical media, holo media, theatre, and so much more. There will be differences between species, understanding what they need to know, how they learn best, and what their aging process is like. Teachers to cover the full range of mortal maturity, from teaching toddlers to old-timers. And don't get me started on teaching "forbidden" topics in repressive communities.
Medical. LOL. Every. Single. Species. And often subtypes between them. So many specialists needed. And again, you probably have a number that specialize in helping in disaster areas. Hello, Educorp, let's help teach these people how to best care for themselves. Maybe Agricorp can help with showing folks how to purify their air and water. There must be SO many diseases, some of which have inoculations and so that don't. And again, figuring ways to smuggle medicine and supplies to those who need it despite the extortionist rates corporations charge. Repairing faulty equipment, finding work-arounds when the parts aren't there. Triage. Using the Force to help heal is all well and good, but sometimes they still have to get hands-on.
Even with non-emergency stuff, I imagine they're still kept busy. The idea of a Jedi "country doctor" settled in some remote area sounds delightful. Communities that get "lost" in the shuffle or otherwise overlooked. Veterinary medicine as a sub-specialty.
Jedi having a special "knack" for determining what's wrong with someone, finding early warning signs before it's too late, etc. Comforting the dying. Comforting the survivors. ALL the mental health stuff and neurodivergence.
Exploration. Jedi Starfleet. LOL! It isn't all about discovering new worlds, though. Sometimes it's rediscovering planets and cultures that have been forgotten. Charting new hyperlane routes and hoping the end doesn't pop you out in the middle of a star.
I betcha you could fold so many things into this one. Botany. Archaeology. Xenoanthropology. Medicine, of course, since new worlds/people means new poisons, venoms, and diseases. New or ancient languages? It'd help to have someone around who could work on translating. Diplomats to help you talk to people. Geologists. Zoologists. A bit of everything.
Sure, there'd be room for solo missions, but I imagine there'd be bigger ships that they'd launch from. A place to come back to so the brains can pore over everything you brought back and see what they can determine from it. And big ships (or any ships really) means pilots, engineers, general crew, logistics, and all those fun things.
Anyway, I can see plenty of room for additional corps, too, but of the ones that get mentioned in Legends there's still a huge playing field.

Idk if I'll draw it but random Youtuber/Influencer AU for TADC go brr. Putting a break because SHIT MAN this is longggg lol
Pomni- General internet goer and one of those Youtubers that made "day in the life" type vlogs showcasing how much fucking pressure she's under, has a pretty loyal and caring audience for her despite herself, ~100,000 subscribers or so and she *tries* to respond to every comment.
Caine- Not so much an Influencer persay but more so of creator of the popular social media apps and tries to be #hipwiththekids...it does not work very well he's posting Pokémon Go and Harlem shake memes in 2024..bless his heart
Bubble- Caine's social media manager! He's a little better with being hip with the kids, up to date with memes n stuff but he also gets attention in...less than convential ways. Think of what was happening with the Norm of the North Twitter account, just weird..weird shit.
Sun & Moon- They act as a duo of sorts on Tik Tok and they make skits and #unhinged humor that is probably liked by majority of everybody. Nobody can tell if they're dating or just friends, since Sun will say the most unhinged shit and Moon will just sigh dreamily at it while reciting a poem or shit. Moon has to stop Sun from responding to hate comments and going off on them and finding their address n shit.
Gloink Queen & Gloinks: The Gloink Queen is one of those Facebook moms who takes pictures of their children(her Gloinks) every time they do anything, even when they're crying, because she thinks it's "cute". She gets fairly popular at first and even gets to sell merchandise however as her audience grows, so does her criticism but Facebook doesn't do anything about it and she continues to exploit her children for views and attention.
Princess Loolilalu- Tiktok influencer that shows the daily life of a royal. She's fairly unpopular but she was the hot topic for a week because people thought she was flexing and she had to explain she wasn't trying to, she was just trying to show the daily life since some people in her kingdom had inquired about it. She gets very low engagement but she admires every comment she gets. She starts to shift towards more crafty stuff after honestly getting a bit bored filming every second of her life and that grows her audience a little bit.
Gummigoo - Tiktok Influencer that make illegal life hack videos and him just working on a farm(I assume he does cuz he gives off cowboy vibes) and he's unintentionally thirst trapping through those videos, which gives him a pretty large, dedicated and possibly a little too obsessed, audience.
Zooble- Youtuber that talks about the most depraved shit that people do in humanity, think like iceberg videos about shitty people online or the dark corners of Reddit and 4chan. Also probably has a second channel where they play *nothing* but Plants vs. Zombies 2 because idk it's funny and they need to do something else to not get entirely depressed
Kinger- He is a Youtuber, techinally, though he doesn't know how to operate a camera very well. Most of his videos are just snippets from his life, cooking some food, badly singing his favorite songs, and sharing a little too much of his life online. Still, he's regarded as Youtube's grandpa.
Kaufmo- A YouTube "prankster" that would do the worst fucking things imaginable(not illegal but..close to it) and one day he did..something..and he got killed for it as a result, it was all caught on camera. He was criticized a lot for doing what shit he was doing and when he died, it was covered but nobody was suprised.
Ragatha- If Kinger is the grandpa of YouTube, then Ragatha is the grandma because she posts a lot of crochet and stitching how tos while also sprinkling in her personality and some of her other interests, like making a crochet Undertale plushie or something.
Gangle- She's a very famous twitch streamer who is...I don't even know really how to describe it but she's very like "uwu" abt everything as her streamer personality yknow? And..I mean..it works, she gets enough donations in a 1 hour stream to pay her rent for 2 months so..as for her content, it depends, sometimes it's horror games and other times it's just chilling with chat.
Jax- Jax is...also...a streamer. He does snuff streams where he gets donations to torture people and stuff. It's illegal but he makes as much money, if not more, than Gangle.

Introducing myself through five favorite books!
Favorite Classic: Bram Stoker's Dracula
There's so many reasons why this is one of my all time favorites, but the part that really sticks with me is the characters. Each of them were so different from each other (a cowboy, a professor, a doctor, a school teacher, and an aspiring lawyer!) but their friendship still felt so true and genuine. One of my favorite adventure novels, so hopeful and sweet but not afraid to take dark twists. To me, this book is the definition of classic.
Favorite New Book: Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames
I know I'm using "new" loosely (can't believe 2017 was seven years ago...) but at the very least, this book is new to me! I thought this was such a clever take on the fantasy genre, which is my favorite. It kept all the classic aspects of wizards, flying ships, and even owl bears, while reframing them in terms of the modern music industry. I love old and new music, specifically punk and nu wave, so I really enjoyed all the little nods to it. Plus, the storyline of aging heroes reconvening to relive their glory days was just amazing.
Favorite Nonfiction: On Writing by Stephen King
To be totally honest, I'm not usually one for nonfiction. But this book was genuinely a page turner. While it's often touted as a must-read for aspiring writers, I don't actually think that's where this book shines. For me, personally, the most interesting parts were the beginning and end, learning how Stephen King grew up to be such a successful author, and learning about how he overcame the accident he was in and got back into writing afterwards. Also, his prose is just so entertaining I think it'd be hard not to enjoy.
Favorite Graphic Novel: Uzumaki by Junji Ito
I'm a horror lover, and this manga might be the most unique horror media I've ever experienced. Junji Ito really makes the most of the visual medium, and his art is incredible. I wish I could plaster my apartment with these pages, seriously. Beyond that, he finds such creative and fresh topics to explore, I think I left this book with all new fears. Seriously, my terrarium (as seen in the pic) is full of snails, and ever since I read this book I've been scared they'll escape.
Favorite of All Time: American Gods by Neil Gaiman
No book has impacted me so much as American Gods. It'll be hard to keep this short, as I genuinely think I could write a thesis on the complexities and lore of this book. But overall, I'll say I love folklore, and reading this book, I could genuinely believe Neil Gaiman knows more folklore than I could ever hope to learn in my entire life. Every scene and inclusion is so well crafted and thought out; reading this book probably took my twice as long because every chapter I finished made me want to read at least three wikipedia pages. Also, Shadow is one of my favorite protagonists I've ever read. Between his appreciation for the bigfoot magazine cover and constant attempts to entertain kids with coin tricks (which doesn't work out as often as it should!) I absolutely fell in love with him.
Thanks everyone for reading! I plan to use this blog as a space to share reviews of the books I read (as well as share favorite music and movies on occasion). Feel free to send in asks, comments, and questions. Nice to meet you!

Education in a Solarpunk World
Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel. ~ Socrates
I'm very passionate about knowledge. I'm extremely curious and love to share everything and anything. As you might notice when scrolling though this blog, I love to deepdive into topics and pile and sort the informaton I find, both for me but also for others.
I'm also living in a western european country and my school system is terrible. So bad in fact, I gave up my wish to become an schoolteacher and followed another passion. There are other well articulated and better researched sources that go into the why our school sytem is this way. I'll only talk about my vison to make it better.
The whole plan is creating an individualized curriculum for each student with a focus on creating citizens who are mentally-balanced, socially well-adjusted and know how to think, so the teaching would differ for each student.
My Solapunk version of education, has three pillars.
The first is free education. Free acess to the Institutions, but also the knowledge through libraries, free acess to the Internet, free acess to academic studies. Free acess reagardless of age. there is a minimum time you have to spend in education, but lifelong couriosity, learning and exchange is encouraged, even after you started doing your chosen daily labour in the community.
The second pillar is the fact that the concept of general knowledge is a construct by the society and state you live in. So let's completely revamp this. I strongly believe that general knowlede should be considered everything that helps you taking care of yourself when you don't have acces to the help of others. Examples out of my head are cooking, basic maintenance of your home/prosessions/garden, first aid, but also how to get and revaluate knowlede you need and don't have. That, and a basic understanding of numbers, reading and reading comprehension to evaluate what you are reading and be able to apply it to your life. To properly form arguments and comunicate in a non-vilolent way. Thats the basic curriculum, the shell so to speak. It doesnt matter how you learn it, via games, from your parents or classes you take. You can't leave education untill you have proven to function in those in your way.
Ok, so the kids earn those skills in peer groups of around five or six people for as long as they need in their own pace, but what about, you know, everything else? They get let loose. There might be some age restriction on topics, but what I envison is pure interest and passion driven learning. There's no classes or grades, just develloping skills and knowledge. Every day there are three or four discussion pannels or lectures to a weirdly specific topic, like the manuscrips of Timbuktu, the life and times of Ghandi or how to best craft a basket out of different plant fibres. And anyone who wants can submitt a topic, and if it interests you, you go, otherwise you stay and work on your linewight in your drawing or solve math problems. Depending on your learning style, there 're videos, audiobooks, texts and writings in differnt lengths in differnt formating from bullet points to tomes. There are workshops, and studygroups, games and media that cover every topic you possibly want to learn about. It doen't matter when you do it, it matters that you do it. If you are a night owl, you come at 9pm, if you only can focus for 30 min before having to switch the topic, you can, if you leave with 15 because you are sick of learning you can come back with 21 when you regrett dropping out. Time doesn't matter.
There is a third pillar which is the treatment of children as actual people. Up until I was 18 years and suddently an adult my no was never respected, unless I gave an essay on why I didn't want to. Simply because I was a child and my parents knew better- every adult knew better. Which I see everywhere, and people are wondering why consens is such a dificult concept to establish as we have to learn that No is adequate. No justifications, just a No. So the learning Institute has scientists and social workers present, who are accessible as someone the students might go to for advice when needed with whatever neeed might come up: assist in finding resoures or give input and correction on fake news, or they may act as mediators in case-you know- kids being kids. Overall however, there is the understanding that children have a certain autonomity they can adjust themselves to give up or keep. Children are people and are treated as such.
The students keep a portfolio of their skills, both as a resource of knowlege and memento. Plus, after spending a specific minimum time depeding on how easy you learn the "general skills" you would be allowed to submitt this portfolio to a council of scientist chosen by you who will certify you for your chosen field of studies. You don't need to, but from my own experience having a ceritficate of your skills is damn sattisfying. And you can do it immediatly when you are free to or wait five more years because you don't feel ready. Again, the choice is yours.
Remember, you can stay as long as you want and even after shifting your focus away to the application of your skills in the community, you are free to participate in the discussions and give lectures. Everyone is allowed to give them, after all. Scientists are conducting their reserach at specific research centres that are connected to the education centres and the students are allowed there after a certain age or reaching a level of knowlege deermined by the scentists working on the project.
There are questions up for debate of course, especially how we want to teach history, tackle the things we did to each other and the planet. My country is prized for how selfreflected we are but our political climate sugests otherwise so, it's still open.

Intro Post
Thanks for checking out a random person's critical reading of Harry Potter!
For those of you who don't know, a critical reading doesn't mean only criticizing a book. Rather, it means digging into the book's main ideas, themes, influences -- everything that makes the book tick -- and figuring out what it's trying to do, how it's trying to do it, and if it's succeeding or failing. It can also involve critiquing the author's biases (which I certainly expect to do in this reading) and how they appear in the text.
I'm particularly interested in how Rowling thinks about conformity/nonconformity, and in talking about what I think the books' primary message is and whether they succeed in imparting that message.
Context
I used to love Harry Potter. As a kid, I based my identity around being A Reader, and Harry Potter was the series that made me love reading.
So of course you can imagine how devastated I was when I grew up to be trans and Rowling grew up to be one of the worst and most influential transphobes in the modern world.
I used to reread Harry Potter every year; I've read the entire series at least 10 times. It was my go-to comfort series. But after Rowling went off the deep end, I couldn't bring myself to read it anymore. It just hurt too much.
But I recently took a class on children's literature, and one of the books we covered was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. And while I had some problems with the unit (mainly that we didn't discuss Rowling's current transphobia, and as the only trans person in the class, it fell to me to raise the topic, which I wasn't comfortable doing), I did find our discussions very interesting. We talked about how Rowling drew off of and modified the well-established British boarding school novel, about how Rowling both enforces and subverts conformity, wizards' treatment of muggles and nonhuman sapient species, and much more.
And it got me thinking.
I know how to do literary analysis. I hate writing proper essays, but I can put together a bullet-pointed list of analysis like nobody's business. And I know there was so much we weren't able to cover in class that I would be interested in thinking about more.
So here I am. Doing a critical analysis of Harry Potter (books 2-7 since I've already done book 1) (maybe I'll post a summary of my class's discussion and the essay I wrote about it at some point).
Expectations
tl;dr: keep them low
I don't know when or how often I will feel the urge to read and write up my analysis. I may liveblog readings and then do a roundup at the end, or I may just post analysis. Who knows! Point is, don't expect me to post regularly
Guidelines
Please engage with my analyses! Whether you want to expand on one of my points, disagree with something I've said, or add something entirely new, I've found that literary analysis is much better when there are multiple people challenging each other's ideas and pushing them farther!
However, if and when you engage, please try to do so thoughtfully and take other people's viewpoints (including my own) in good faith. If something makes you angry or uncomfortable, sit with it for a while. Interrogate why you're reacting the way you are, and if you agree with your visceral reaction. Then reply.
I'm leaving anonymous asks and submissions on for now, because I get that engaging with this kind of thing can be easier anonymously, and I think submitted media could be neat. But if those functions get misused, I'll be turning them off.
Conclusion
Thanks so much for engaging with this weird little side project! I hope you enjoy!

Like how 竟渡河 convinced me on shinai, 背德向 convinced me on coshi 😩✌️
Not so summarised summary?? Tw cheating
They both took the antidote and went on w their lives. Shinichi is w ran while shiho is "just his partner" but before shinichi marries ran he and shiho fucked on the night she's leaving for London (she doesn't wanna stay and watch him be w ran)
Ltr on she hears from shuichi (they know they're cousins now) about how shinichi has been missing for 3 days or so now so they both fly back to Japan. The popo + rei + heiji + kaito r all buzzing on how to find him when she takes out her glasses and tracks him down cuz she installed a GPS tracker on the 3rd button of every popo protection work clothes of his and it's some remote mountain
For context he thinks this one "solved" case has further leads but the popo didn't believe him and the culprits wanted to silence shinichi, going even as far as stabbing him on the streets
Popo + PSB + shuichi doesn't wanna alert the baddies so they gotta be cautious which makes things slower. When they find traces of him (blood marks, his clothes, etc) they conclude him dead considering the time. Also they apprehended the baddies
Concurrently w the news of his death, shiho finds out she's pregnant. Yes, w shinichi's kid. The media went as far as stalking them and taking pics of her leaving the kudo mansion at night so this hot topic blows up and she's bombarded at the hospital but shuichi covers for her saying it's his kid. Ran politely asks the media to not disturb the "couple's private life". The kudos sneakily get a meeting w her w/o the reporters looking and wish her well before she goes back to London w shuichi. Mary nags shuichi to go back to work. She wants to help look after shiho but the latter declines, preferring to live alone.
She struggles a lot w her symptoms but for the child's sake, tries her best. One day she passed by this shop that had the complete series of Sherlock Holmes and decided to buy the whole thing on a whim. She lugs it home slowly, stopping to rest from time to time cuz she's in no rush. When she's at her door suddenly her eyes r covered by rough hands. A familiar voice asks her to guess who is it, and when she turns to look, she sees him. His face is marred with scars and the like, but here he is, Kudo shinichi in the flesh. She asks if it's really him, and he smiles. Not Kudo shinichi, but rather edogawa Conan, and explains to her how kaito and akako found him before the popo did and helped him mask his death. He actually ate another aptx4869 kept on him to escape his captors. Magician boy and magical girl provides him w shiho's address in London and now here he is. Here to stay. With her. :')

Hi there! I’ve got a self-shipping question for you, I’m in love with the reivi ship 💖
How does Levi act when he’s jealous over you? I think he’d be a little annoyed by his partner’s jealousy, but he’s not immune to the feeling lol. I love you ❤️
Hiiiii anon!!! 🥺 thank you for loving Reivi and for entertaining me <3 I am very touched!!! I love you very much too ❤️
Haha I've actually answered this jealousy topic over here, but I am more than happy to answer and elaborate on this again 🥰I'll talk about both Levi and I when we're jealous!! Please enjoy some cheesiness and jealousy/possessiveness XD
It's quite obvious that between us, I am the more jealous and possessive one XD I'm the crazy wife that checks my husband's phone and reads through his messages, checks his phone gallery, and looks at who he liked on Instagram etc. Well... you can't blame me when Levi is so good-looking and attractive, right???? On top of that, I am a pretty insecure person especially when it comes to this, so I feel extra possessive of Levi.
I show my possessiveness over Levi and flaunt our relationship through things like wearing matching shirts or shoes, watches, spectacles, phone brands, phone covers etc. We even have matching display pictures on our social media accounts, and I make sure his phone's lock screen and home screen are our photos (or any family photos) 😂 and like you mentioned, Levi does get annoyed about it haha, but he still does it anyway. He lowkey loves being matchy with me hehe.
If we can't wear couple outfits, we'll colour coordinate our clothes!! Like, we may have a denim theme, or our tops and bottoms will have matching colours. It's my way of showing him off to the world that yes, indeed, this hot guy beside me is taken. Women still try to hit on him even though he's married with four kids 🙄 it's like they all can't see his wedding ring on his finger 🙄
To be honest, Levi doesn't get many opportunities to show me his jealous side though, since I don't really receive stares from others (haha). But!! When we're out with the children, he gets really protective. Somehow, when we're out with the kids, we get a lot more stares than usual (is it because we look too young to have four kids? Lol), and Levi gets really annoyed by it. He always makes sure that his arm is around me when we're out, and he holds me reaaaaaaaaally close to him by my waist too.
I like wearing shorts, and Levi has a love-hate relationship whenever I wear shorts out haha. He loves staring at my thighs but he also hates it when people (guys) stare at me too 😂 he loves it when I flaunt my thighs in shorts and jeans but he hates it when people look (what is this logic???). So, like what I mentioned above, he always holds me by the waist and keeps me close to him haha.
Also, he doesn't really post on social media much, but when he does, he always subtly include me inside to show me off hehe. Like, he'll repost my Instagram stories that I tagged him in, or if he's posting something, you can see me in the background even though I'm not in focus 🥰
So... the tl;dr answer: Rei is the more jealous and possessive person in the relationship, but Levi's jealousy and logic can be very weird sometimes XD

hey there! i've been seeing a lot of tmnt on your blog and i wanna ask something. i really wanna start the rise series and i was wondering, is it all shenanigans and fun or will there also be the depth and seriousness and thoughtfulness i see on tumblr? (i mean bc sometimes with kid's media, it's the fandom that constructs the deep parts from what canon only implies and never fully acknowledges) so like, is it actually deep or is it a case of the fans going "it's not that deep but i'm imagining that it is"? either way is fun, i just wanna know what to expect. i'm super excited to start btw!
If you cut me in half, tmnt would be at my core haha 😅 I feel honoured that you chose me to ask!
Hm, good question. I'd say 50/50 depending on what subject you're talking about.
If it's about the family dynamics, then it's very much canon the closeness of the brothers and them with April, and how they care for each other. With Splinter it develops more over the seasons, but it's also there. Tumblr may notch it up a little, or give them more serious topics to talk about than what happens in the show, but it's based of a solid base.
If it's the 'Leo being the front man with jokes to hide pain' part, eh, more headcanon? He makes a remark once about hiding behind jokes during the series (the episode portal jacked, I believe), and since the movie people have taken that and ran with it given the topics that covered (they may have before as well but I wasn't active in the rise fandom then so I couldn't say)
In fact, most of the mental health stuff is more along the fandom route, as the show is typically more lighthearted. Though I think part of that is because Rise suddenly had it's second series cut and the writers had to rush the final four episodes, so there wasn't much time for the emotional scenes they probably would've wanted put in, therefore fandom 'fills the gaps'. (Rise had a 'Network Keeps Screwing Us Over' problem.)
That being said, there's still lots of more emotional moments and depth in the show! Especially in that series 2 finale and the movie (seriously, the movie is so good! If it doesn't get nominated for best animated picture I'm gonna cry!)
Also, as a side note if you're watching for the first time: The episodes got aired out of order (see; the Network keeps screwing us over problem), so it's good to look up the actual order to watch in!
Also also, the first number of episodes are generally considered the weaker of the show, so stick with it and give it a chance!

How to educate kids on CSA and how to prevent it:
First, explain sex (evolutionary incentive for adults to procreate, done because the offspring are more likely to have genetic diversity, leading to genetic specialisation), remove curiosity
Second, remove the appeal in the same way drugs are demystified, say the affects, what it can lead to, and the negative consequences for them in specifically like irregular mental development (not to say those that have dealt with CSA are irregular, but to say the negative mental affects that such may face)
Third, say as they grow up they might have thoughts of stuff and thats normal, but that doesn't discount the above, although discourage them from looking for online stuff because ew.
Fourth, emphasise that any adult or peer that purposefully touches them inappropriately (or worse) is doing something bad and illegal. After that give them a card with a csa hotline, tell them its private, and tell them that even if family does it its still really bad.
(Note this should be different from anatomy and social romance, which should be taught later, although the concept of treat others as you would prefer should still be emphasised. Age appropriate books covering such topics without endorsing such is fine. A book about an adult talking about trauma? Completely fine. A book about somebody talking about their self discovery and exploration? Completely fine. It's a part of life and only becomes harmful when it's obfuscated to where the only media to explore such is via non-safe means. So let the library keep all those books (and gay and queer stuff bc duh its just life))
Congratulations, you have helped prevent CSA. Well, you would have if it was actually implemented, but since a subset of people want their kids to wholeheartedly trust them 100% no matter what, they're pushing back because in those cases it benefits them more than the child

I chose to focus on the topic of Islam because I believe that it's important to raise awareness about the religion and combat islamophobia. Unfortunately, many people have a distorted view of Islam, which can lead to prejudice and discrimination. The media often contributes to this problem by portraying a negative image of the religion that doesn't accurately represent its followers. That's why I've decided to take it upon myself to educate people about Islam. By sharing my knowledge, I hope to promote greater understanding and respect for all religions. I'm committed to creating a more inclusive and diverse society, and I believe that educating people about Islam is an important step in that direction. I knew that covering the topic of Islam would be challenging, but what I was most concerned about was the possibility of spreading false information. That's why I made sure to double-check everything I researched and took into account to ensure that I wasn't perpetuating any misconceptions or stereotypes. I wanted to be sure that I was sharing accurate information with others and promoting greater understanding and respect for all religions. By being diligent in my research and fact-checking, I'm confident that I'm doing my part to combat islamophobia and promote greater awareness about Islam. When designing my FMP, I made sure to take several ethical considerations into account. First and foremost, I wanted to ensure that I was not perpetuating any negative stereotypes or misconceptions about Islam. To do this, I conducted thorough research and fact-checking to ensure that all the information I presented was accurate and respectful. I also made sure to include my perspectives in each misconception to provide a well-rounded view of the religion. I also took several cultural considerations into account. I wanted to ensure that my project was culturally sensitive and respectful of Islamic traditions and customs. I consulted with several tutors and muslim to ensure that I was presenting an accurate and nuanced view of the religion. I also made sure to include information about the diverse cultural practices and traditions within the Muslim community to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the religion. Finally, I made sure to take several sustainability considerations into account when designing my project. I wanted to ensure that the project was environmentally friendly and sustainable. I used sustainable and eco-friendly print services for my newspaper and wall price.
My initial thought when choosing a theme for my project were to find a real issue and make a change with my design. Choosing the theme of religion was a tough decision because it could be challenging to create something that is ethically and emotionally correct, in the same way I also felt obligated to choose the theme religion specifically Islam because there is so many misconceptions about it and I wanted to somewhat create a slight change. I had many final outcome ideas but choosing to create a newspaper was the most logical because I would be able to fully express how I feel in a way that is informing the audience. At the beginning of the project I knew that there were many misconceptions about Islam but thought the project I learnt that those misconceptions are being taught, they teach their kids from early on and that made me even more passionate about this project. The teaching system and the media are both responsible for not teaching the right Islam and that makes kids grow up with the wrong idea of Islam. I believe that my initial intentions and the final outcome align, I created a project that was both personal and educational and was able to print out everything that's was planned. My project is strictly type base, I felt as though if I added any pictures or illustrations it will take all the credit away from the main purpose.
During my FMP, I used a variety of research methods to better understand the topic. I began with primary observations, at my pitch presentation I asked with Muslims and non-Muslims to let me know what they'll want to see in my newspaper, which helped me to understand the misconceptions surrounding Islam. I also conducted experiments and initial material developments to explore different design concepts and techniques, for example traditional art. It allowed me experience how art first came about and gave me ideas on how I can showcase my final piece. In addition to primary research, I conducted secondary research on ethical, social, and cultural aspects of the topic. I found websites such as Yaqeen institute, that explains the misconception in a beautiful way, they focus on teaching people the real teachings of islam. The Propaganda Remix Project influenced my practical skills, they allowed me to show my work in a friendly aggressive way, opposite to the media. These ideas and methods supported and nourished my development by providing me with a more well-rounded understanding of the topic. By approaching the project from a variety of angles, I was able to create a more thoughtful and informed final outcome.
Throughout my project, I explored, adapted, and developed a variety of specialist practical processes and skills. I found these skills to be very appropriate to the development of my project, as they allowed me to create a successful final product that addressed an important issue. One of the art styles I explored was typography, which I enjoyed because it allowed me to create meaningful art that conveyed my message in a simple but interesting way. I also enjoyed exploring different layouts, as these elements helped me to create a cohesive and visually appealing final product. I found the specialist processes and skills that I selected to be very effective. I was able to create a successful project that addressed an important issue. It was great to see how the skills I learned could be applied to a real-world project, and I feel confident that I could use these skills in the future to create other successful projects.
I'm glad to hear that I had a clear vision for the theme of my FMP. It was tough to determine the best outcome for my project, but seeking feedback from others was really helpful. I think it's a great idea to get a different perspective and refine my ideas. It was discouraging to hear that my initial idea wasn't going to be taken seriously, but I know that feedback is an important part of the creative process and can help me create a better final product. I understand that creativity takes time and it's okay to experiment and try different things until I find what works best. I'm proud that I was able to overcome these challenges and create an outcome that I'm happy with. I think it's important to remember that the creative process is not always straightforward, but the end result is always worth it. During my project, I encountered several significant challenges that I had to overcome in order to progress. One of the biggest challenges I faced was finding a way to convey my message in a way that was both visually appealing and informative. I experimented with several different art styles and layouts, but I found that some of them were not as effective as I had hoped. However, I was able to learn from these challenges and ultimately create a final product that I was proud of. Another challenge I encountered was the technical aspect of printing the newspaper. I had never printed a newspaper before, so I had to do a lot of research to figure out the best way to do it. I also encountered some technical issues along the way, such as formatting issues and color discrepancies. However, I was able to adapt to these challenges and ultimately create a final product that looked great and conveyed my message effectively. I think that my ability to adapt to unforeseen practical and technical problems was one of my strengths during this project. I was able to stay focused and motivated even when things didn't go as planned, and I was able to find creative solutions to the challenges I encountered. Several factors influenced my ability to solve problems effectively and appropriately. One of the most important factors was my willingness to teach people Islam in a different light. I was not afraid to experiment with different art styles and techniques, and I was willing to do the research necessary to figure out how to print a newspaper. Additionally, I was able to stay organized and focused throughout the project, which helped me to stay on track and overcome any challenges that arose.
For my final outcome, I decided to print a newspaper and wall i about the misconceptions about Islam. I felt that there were a lot of negative stereotypes and misunderstandings about Islam in the media, and I wanted to do my part to help combat these misconceptions. I felt that a newspaper would be a great way to visually communicate my message and help people understand the truth about Islam. I chose to print my project in a newspaper because I felt that this would be a great way to reach a wide audience. I wanted to make sure that as many people as possible saw my project and had the opportunity to learn something new about Islam. I felt that a newspaper was a great way to do this because it's a source that many people still read and trust. I think that my final outcome relates to my audience in a few different ways. First, I think that it helps to educate people about Islam and dispel some of the negative stereotypes that they may have heard. I think that this is really important because there's a lot of misinformation out there about Islam, and it's important for people to have accurate information. Second, I think that my final outcome helps to promote understanding and empathy. By showing people the truth about Islam, I hope that they will be more understanding of Muslims and more willing to empathize with them. I think that this is really important, especially in today's world where there is so much division and hate. Thirdly, I created the newspaper so I can specifically targeted the same audience that the media targets when spreading lies about Islam. I felt that this was really important because I wanted to reach the people who are most likely to believe these negative stereotypes and misconceptions. I felt that by targeting this audience, I could help to change some minds and help people see the truth about Islam.
When creating my project and final outcome, I chose to adopt a few different strategies to help me effectively communicate my ideas. First and foremost, I chose to use typography in my project to visually communicate my message. I felt that this was an effective way to get my message across because it allowed me to use bold text and to convey my ideas.I chose to print my project in a newspaper because I wanted to reach a wide audience and educate them about Islam. I felt that this was an effective way to communicate my message because newspapers are still widely read and trusted. I believe that this was a smart approach to combat negative stereotypes and misconceptions surrounding Islam. I believe that these strategies are very appropriate to my developing professional practice. As a graphic designer, it's important to be able to effectively communicate ideas and messages to a wide audience. By using printing in a newspaper, I was able to do just that. In terms of how effective I've been in communicating my ideas, I think that my project has been quite successful. I've received a lot of positive feedback from people who have seen it, and have the opportunity to educate a lot of people about Islam and combat some of the negative stereotypes and misconceptions that are out there.
When I started my final project, I was interested in creating a piece that would showcase Islam in a different light. I wanted to create something that would be visually appealing and thought-provoking, while also conveying an important message about the need for greater understanding and empathy. Throughout the development of my project, I tried to stay focused on these aims and objectives, constantly revising and refining my work to ensure that it was effective in meeting these goals. I spent a lot of time researching and writing my articles that would go on each page, and I worked hard to translate this information into a visually compelling design. I feel that I was quite successful in reflecting on my developing work and progress against these targets. I was able to create a piece that was both visually striking and intellectually engaging, and I was able to convey a powerful message about the importance of understanding and empathy in our increasingly diverse world.
In the end, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to print my newspaper, where it could be seen by a wide audience and have a real impact on the way people think about Islam and the Muslim community. I hope that my work will continue to inspire others to think critically about the media and the messages it conveys, and to work towards greater understanding and acceptance of all people, regardless of their background or beliefs.

Game Information and the Industry Created About Them
No-one can deny the fact the video gaming market is now one of the very most prolific market on the globe. There are so a lot of things happening, and each new time brings new activities that establish the gaming media area to increase and keep up.
This market was born in the 70s, when pcs first appeared. It started as an interest for many who applied pcs for playing games. Then, more and more individuals started having their particular pcs, and video gaming grew as well. By the finish of the decade, computer games started initially to entice more and more attention.
In 1974, a magazine took the liberty of covering that rising industry. Their title was Perform Meter, and it involved details about the entire industry. But the very first magazine that protected only media from the video gaming domain appeared gaming life news in the UK in 1981, and it absolutely was titled Computer and Video Games. Following it, the US introduced a unique variation, named Electronic Games.
The Net has helped that market develop much more by giving persons access to online gaming websites. People can store more knowledge on CDs, and also download games due to their kids and themselves. And this is how the gaming market turned more than a hobby. When an market gets more interest, the info linked to it must be protected to be able to reach the folks interested.
Today, businesses like Disney, Sony, Nintendo and many other are incredibly popular in the world of video gaming. Maybe not coincidentally, the gaming market represents a big element of economy. For example, can you believe that Great Robbery Auto 4 got a larger money than Spiderman 3 in the very first week of release? How much you ask? Think about $500 million? These records and other related types can reach persons only by means of news.
There are plenty of online websites that cover everything that takes place in the gaming world. It doesn't matter if we are discussing duty evasion or price discounts. It will help the interested persons stay current about the most recent gaming apps, application, instruments or everything new that enters the market. Game titles businesses can successfully use such websites to better understand the marketplace and develop better techniques for expansion.
The Net is indeed one of the finest sourced elements of media in video gaming. A lot of social support systems and gaming portals offer such media a lot of importance. The rapid progress of the gaming media market is dependant on them as a result of room wanted to customers to review and show their ideas linked to various gaming connected topics. This is a good way to support the system and encourage growth.
