okay but pls say more about codependent situationship jopzer in purror & erebark, i crave lore.

you know that part in seaside improvisations by richard siken where its like "tell me you love this, tell me you're not miserable" well thats like the tagline of jopzier in my catboy au. "tell me the life we've built together is something that makes you happy, tell me i'm not a huge disappointment to you, tell me that being together is enough even if you can't tell me you love me" and this mutual desire for a happy ending but the inability to articulate those desires. lore under cut:

in this au crozier has decades worth of feelings that he's always turned a blind eye to in favour of work, and then all of that is over after the failed expedition. no more work, no more exploration, no more social climbing. even the possibility of marrying sophia has disappeared (though crozier refuses to voice this outloud) and all he has is a half renovated cottage in fuckall nowhere and 5 catboys that he never asked for, one of which might be the greatest thing that's ever happened to him (and thus something doesn't deserve). and jopson knows crozier is unhappy but he doesnt know how to fix it, and crozier is unhappy because he feels like he's holding jopson back. he saved jopson from the arctic, mutinied for jopson, quit drinking for jopson and left the navy for jopson, and now jopson's doing what? stuck taking care of an aging old man who can't even afford to get him a tea set that isn't secondhand. theres a part of him that wishes jopson would leave, that thinks he could convince fitzjames to adopt jopson and make him undergo lieutenant training, but there's another part of him where, if jopson himself asked to leave, would be so incredibly angry that he would probably start drinking again.

meanwhile jopson has what could be charitably described as a deep gratitude for the man that changed his life and uncharitably described as an oedipus complex (which is what hickey calls it at every opportunity) with full awareness that he can never act on his feelings because it would legitimately ruin crozier's life. and hes hidden it well from crozier (because crozier doesn't know what normal catboy behaviour is like) but his possessiveness is obvious to nearly everyone else, whether they interpret that as love or duty or both depends on the person. at one point in tasmania crozier is called away by sir john so sophia and jopson are alone together and sophia stares at the door crozier just left through and says smth like "i think his greatest fantasy is for me to be his wife and for you to be the creature who rests beside me, half guard-dog, half lap-cat, as we wait for him to come home" and then she looks at jopson and smiles and says "maybe that's your fantasy too" and jopson is too stunned to respond.

in summary its just a constant cycle of "tell me what you want" "i want what you want" "i dont know what i want" for jopzier here, neither of them can answer the "what are we" question, thats their codependent situationship realness

At a risk of being controversial: I really dont enjoy the fanon trope of making Hylia a villain. I dont claim people who do that are evil or sexist, there's obivous writing potential there and people are allowed to explore it. I personally however find it uncomfortable, and I want to speak out in case someone else feels the same and would be relieved to not be alone.

Hylia as a character is a ...fairly new addition to franchise. We first learn of her in skyward sword, a game that's story aims to explain the reincarnation cycle's excistence.

I think due to that, and how in botw we see the first canon story that potrays the cycle as bad, its easy for new and old fans to point at hylia and go: I dont trust this. (It doesnt help Hylia is connected to vague christian imaginary and people have their own issues with religion.)

Again I dont blame people for this, some fans are new, some are coping with religious trauma, and some just wanna explore the cool concept that is reincarnating heroes.

However, my discomfort comes from a few facts in this matter that I want to put out there for people to consider.

My first issue is that Hylia is not the person who started the issue. We know the evil force that is Demise existed before the cycle, and for some reason or another Hylia nor the other goddesses could not stop him. Hylia made her plan in order to seal demise away for good, and it didnt work. It just didn't work.

It doesnt matter if demise cursed the reincarnation thing or if Hylia decided it'd repeat forever. The fact is that theres a malicious unquestionably evil force that a goddess tried to stop and failed.

You can dislike her plan all you want, but hindsight is 20/20 and all that—

Okay, breather, I am passionate about this but I know my opinion isnt the objective fact. Maybe Hylia could stop this cycle and try something else, maybe she is inhuman in mind and spirit and doesnt comprehend the horrors she has caused. We don't know and you can fill these blanks as you see fit.

But uhm, this does bring me to my second opinion, which might be harder to take seriously it you're disagreeing with this post already.

I think there's sexism around how fans treat Zelda and Hylia, not helped at all by Nintendo's own actions.

I see people be put off by skyward sword Zelda, perhaps writing her unemphatic and clueless of Link's battles to find her. So much so that we ignore the fact she too was ripped from home, told she has to be someone else, and forced to drag her best friend along so the world wouldnt end. She is a victim too, but why do we forget this?

In my opinion it's partly due to the bad writing of women Nintendo keeps doing. Zelda is written so... perfect. Nintendo refuses to aknowledge her flaws as a person and instead is like look how pretty she is, she apologises and Link forgives her, so you should too! ...When, if you dont do so, it feels like you're being manipulated or dismissed whenever she is on screen.

An issue that repeats with Hylia as well. With many Zeldas in many games.

To react to that tonal dissonance with writing Zelda/Hylia as evil is... normal, I think. I don't blame people for feeling that way.

But,, That seems unfair to me. A female character with potential to be complex and good was failed by the writers, and now we as fans continue from that point with making her even worse.

I dont dislike fans who do this, you're just participating in fandom the way you see fit, but I cant enjoy it, it makes me upset. These women are not evil, Link isn't the only character being hurt deeply, and if you could please consider female characters beyond how they hurt ya boy, I'd be so relieved.

I'll repeat what I said at the start, I dont claim people who do this are evil or sexist. People are having fun in fandom, and ngl demise sucks as a villain and Hylia is way more interesting to explore.

I just... I think its worth asking yourself why her. Why you don't or do like Zelda. Engaging in things you love with an analytic eye is genuinely good for you and the media you're enjoying.

This in no means is meant to come off as an attack, Im just requesting we look at another angle of things, maybe just to say we did.

i think, you two might try to work together to find a way to break the cycle.. usually he wants to stay away from that sort of thing, considering his own personal curse-thing going on with him

as for ramilia—can you imagine how unhinged and messy it would get if you factor in wrath if… the same person (natsuki subaru) trapped and betrayed them… and in the aftermath of ram killing him, emilia goes to kill her in retaliation for that. ram, the girl who despises subaru with her whole being but has depended on him to live bc he’s locked her up all alone in a dark room. emilia, the girl who’s grown to have stockholm syndrome for subaru and has been locked up in a complete white room bc of her father figure and subaru agreeing to do that to her. i just think wrath if ramilia would be so fucked up and im so curious about it….

A BROTP I have with said character: this one tends to be a little overlooked but like. ram and otto are great. and like in general ram CARES about more people than just roswaal okay. like she DOES give a shit i dont understand all those people who think she doesnt. like with otto she GOES OUT OF HER WAY to make him tea and bring it to his room when hes working. and then theres the fact that ram and fred and otto are the only ones who drink alcohol in the mansion (other than. roswaal.) but ram-fred-otto drinking buddies moment when…???? also ram and fred of course 1000% know otto and subaru are garf’s older brother figures now. theyre all in the garf protection squad.

also. of course. ram and rem’s complicated relationship with its ups and downs all the way from their backstory to (SPOILER IG??) them reuniting in arc 8…… good shit. i enjoy seeing them together.

A NOTP I have with said character: ram/roswaal for obvious reasons but i will explain in Depth. because okay they have potential in the sense that there is a time and a place to show toxic unhealthy relationships in fiction with nuance and complexity between both characters. like roswaal has So Much influence on who ram is and also they have all that history together. there is So Much to explore there. like its fascinating with how roswaal plays a role in the destruction of the oni village, and then roswaal brings rem and ram to his mansion and roswaal threatens rem's life in order to put ram into a contract to serve him iirc? and ram LOATHES him bc of all that until. until gluttony erases rem and now ram has no reason to hate roswaal as much. now shes got like an Increased Complex Obsession with him thats now significantly less hate-love. like it is a full on cycle of abuse (in a Romantic lense) from echidna to roswaal to ram complete with Significant Age Differences??? like this is ALL so fascinating. and it sure would be in line with rezero's self improvement themes if ram grew to move away from her roswaal obsession and learn that she deserves Way Better than him.........

ANYWAY i have a many thoughts on wrath if ramsuba. bc its like…. ram was growing a tiny bit fond of subaru in arc 2, u know? and then from her pov subaru goes and KILLS HER SISTER…. meanwhile subarus been betrayed and rams trying to kill him and then subarus punished for trying to defend himself. and then subaru takes it too far and becomes purge king and kills a ton of people while imprisoning ram and emilia. wrath if drives me insane man. rams been locked up and subaru being the only one that knows shes there, along with the fact that ram and subaru disappear from the mansion at the same time, imply that ramsubas had a lot of time in private with just each other. subaru depends on her bc shes in color. rams life hangs in his hands. ram went from being trapped with roswaal to being trapped with subaru. its a whole MESS. i am fascinated.

General Opinion over said character: RAM IS GREAT AND ALL THOSE PEOPLE WHO SAY SHE DOESNT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT ANYONE ARE SO SO WRONG. The coveralls and boots in my recent photos are from a thrift store in wyoming. I dont live in wyoming, but that thrift store always has stuff in my size and i know i can spare an hour and a half drive for a decent shopping trip

THRIFT ONLINE. my trench is from mercari, as is most of my vintage jewelry. I shop ebay frequently for band shirts but ebay is way less reliable for actual thrifting. Plus online is easy to find ur size and filter by it

DIY OR DIE. find something you like but its the wrong color? Dye it. The hems are too long or short? Easy sewing fix. Theres a hole in it? Learn to mend and patch. Too tight in one area? Cut it open. Refer back to know what you want, keep an open mind

GIVE BACK. Us fat ppl love to hoard clothes, but contribute to the cycle of plus size thrifting. Someone may be looking for the clothes you dont wear and should give away. Feed the fat thrifitng ecosystem

On intersex questioning

I recently put up a poll asking people what motivated them to question if they were intersex. Partly to know how "typical" I am. But also because I'm curious if people who are currently questioning their intersex status are noticeably different from those of us who already identify as intersex.

And I gotta say, the spread of responses look pretty similar!

Most of the asks I see on tumblr tend to be framed in medical terms. Personally, I was motivated more by social/psychological reasons (figuring out who I am and wanting to not feel like a lone freak). Turns out people like me are in the minority but we're hardly alone.

I honestly wonder how much of the medical asks are really about other things like belonging or gender but those reasons don't seem "valid" enough.

I wanna share the replies and reblogs because I would have found them useful to read back when I was questioning if I was intersex. I have lightly edited them for readability (if you wrote one and want to be quoted by username DM me!) To see the original comments go to the original post. The first I tried (Lexapro) took it away from me entirely, before I even got beyond a starter dose, and the one I'm on now (Zoloft) seems to have made the highs and lows of my cycle WAY more apparent (though I've only been on it for just over a month so it's hard to tell if that's exactly what it's doing, but whereas my libido was pretty one-note before with the occasional Horny Day, in this past month it went away completely around the two weeks surrounding my period and now, just as I noticed I was ovulating, it is back more intensely than before).

And in the times when it's been gone, I've felt... confused, to say the least. Discovering my individual sexuality was the main part of what helped me figure out my sexuality relating to others just over a year ago, and without that to fall back on, it's felt like I was ace again (disclaimer that theres obviously nothing inherently bad or disappointing about not being attracted to others sexually, it's just disappointing for ME PERSONALLY because I am not ace and the idea that I won't be attracted to anyone is disappointing in a kind of intrinsic way that I can't really explain fully. It makes me understand why amatonormativity exists, although obviously it's dumb as hell because different people have different wants and values and experiences and just because something is intrinsic to me does not make it intrinsic to every human being)

Anyways. Sorry, I keep tangent-ing. If my mental health had been good enough any earlier for me to start working on my mental health (oh the paradox of mental health services) I may not have ever known I had a libido, full stop. Lexapro OBLITERATED it, before I even got past 10mg (and even during the first week when I was only on 5mg it lowered significantly). I wasn't even enjoying reading fanfic as much anymore, it made me disinterested in romance as a whole. I've been OBSESSED with romance since I was 11 (puberty oop).

I just can't believe my religious upbringing had me so far in the closet with myself that I may have missed out on this entirely. This is exactly why abstinence only education is bad and does not work (AMONG OTHER REASONS, I AM NOT SAYING THIS IS THE ONLY REASON IT SUCKS) and why we need to combat the stigma for masturbation early, especially in people with a vulva. LMAOOO OK JOKES ASIDE THO! I love playing as Klee and am super excited when someone else likes her too! Pls take everything i say w a grain or bag of salt as i know very little of what im doing besides from guides help XD

So short version: Klee is a great DPS, but she doesn't have very good synergy in reaction teams due to her pyro overpowering other elements in battle. She also struggles being very toss-able and squishy health. Not to mention her attack set is a bit slow and many suggest using cancellation techniques which can get very tricky to preform efficiently. Farming crimson witch domain may crush your spirits too, but I think her fun playstyle and kit is worth the efforts! You can burn the grass in your friends world for pranks! throw large enemies around and leave little room for them to attack! Blow up rocks and boulders! Explore the world more by fitting into small areas that may not supposed to be reached yet! Avoid attacks cause she's too short to get hit sometimes! LOTS OF EXPLOSIONS AND EFFECTS! I love it! There's a lot of fun little things that i find makes playing as klee very fun! I find she does best against multiple enemies rather than bosses. Not to say you cant use her for them, but it may not be ideal as a different group!

LONG VERSION:

So Klee is a great and fun character. You can burn grass and set fire to your friends world!!! She can find stuff unique to mondstats area, and overall her kit is just super fun and can have a lot of explosions depending on your team!

Here is my build on her currently:

Weapon wise I use Skyward Atlas since ive gotten it twice by chance LOL, but widsith is ranked best 4* for her and Kagura’s Verity is best 5* BUT APPARENTLY!!! Kagura is most good just because it has bugs that make it better on klee, it might change if it gets patched out T^T so i wouldnt pull for it specifically, but if you have it already might be good to use! ^v^ Now, despite having her since release my artifacts are still VERY iffy, but thats cause crimson witch domain hates me! LMAO I use Gladiators Finale and crimson witch, and then my goblet is my off piece since i want pyro DMG ! My main advice here is for substats aim for Crit rate, crit dmg, atk % and atk. For the main stats Goblet; Pyro DMG, Sands; ATK%, and Circlet; Crit Rate (Crit DMG if you already have at least 50% crit rate without this piece) As for those cancellation techniques they can be daunting and tricky, but dash cancel and jump cancel arent too bad! BUT!!! Dash canceling is the easiest in my opinion. You attack twice, dash and then attack again. With how much i run around on the field this one is quick to get used to doing!

NOW TEAMS! ^V^ While I find I can use klee in most areas (besides pyro enemies TvT) A good team really makes Klees dmg increase a lot! My main go to is!!! Klee, Xiangling, Bennet, and Venti!

I use Bennys ULT then Xianglings followed by Ventis and then go crazy with Klee! ^V^ If your supports are built well, after defeating a group of enemies you usaullyt get your ults back immediately. So you can just keep cycle the big attacks! Venti can be opted out for sucrose or kazuha as well! (I think Kazuha is supposed to be best anemo here, but i dont have kazuha LOL)

My other go to team with klee is!!! Klee, Fischl, Beidou and any support that fits your needs.

This is a great overload team and makes for very fun combat against bosses that can be knocked over. Enemies have little room for attack and theres explosions everywhere which is super fun!!! My beidou isn't built yet, but this team still works great whether your artifacts are top tier or not. As for supports I reccommend a Healer or shield support. Klee sets the ground on fire alot and will take a lot of dmg there ;;; if you have Zhongli his shield is AMAZING!!! If you want to focus on dmg bonuses just stick with bennet and his ult! Diona or Qiqi are good healers that let Klee stay battling while protecting her!

AND LASTLY!!! Multiplayer and world exploration! If your gonna be a klee main u gotta be a lil silly!!! >V< You can mess with your idle friends and burn the grass they stand on >:3 or blow up an enemy over a cliff! Klees explosions can be used on rock piles or geo cliffs that need to be broken! No need to bring out a claymore ^v^ Again very good against multiple enemies at a time since she often knocks them off their feet and sends them backwards! Her small height also can help with avoiding attacks that go over her head LOL

Overall Klee is very fun to play and I greatly encourage you to play her kit! especially if you like explosions and being a lil rascal :3

So um

Innerworlds funky and I just wanted to tell someone about it before we went to bed

Innerworld, or what we’ve explored of it is a large forest. Way off east we found an edge that people keep jumping off of. Nothing really happens. You just kinda. Fall in a loop until someone goes and gets you.

There’s weather. Constantly fog, rain, or both. The day night cycle is simple enough. Dusk in the real world would be dawn in innerworld. Things are starting to match up again as we fix our sleep schedule though.

The caretaker and caregiver building houses both the caretakers, littles, and more.. unstable headmates. Like Ozzy, LiVi, or Eliot. I’ve walked around there a bit. The main floor looks like a daycare for the littles, there’s a classroom too. The basement is for the older and unstable headmates. It’s a nice little area, cozy.

The upper floors hold the bedrooms for the littles and caretakers. Caretakers who have their own residence somewhere else in the innerworld typically go there instead of the rooms in the daycare.

I found a little lake not too long ago while on a walk. It was buried deep in the more close together trees, sort of in a mountain like area. There was a cabin by it and I think I saw someone inside. I might’ve been mistaken though.

There’s an area that houses the protectors. I forgot the formal name of it but it’s nice. Each protector gets a small room that seems to be personalized from what I can tell(my room is resemblant my office from my source.) of The courtyard is a common area for protectors to just hang out. A few of them started planting flowers out there.

The front room, from the outside looks like an airplane hanger. The inside seems to be modelled after an old skaterink that got shut down in our town. Theres viewing stations around the front room for people who want to see out.

I have my own place of residence, which explains why I have an office instead of a room at the protectors hq. I’m guessing it might be the same thing for the caretakers who have their own place of residence as well.

My place is tucked away and high up, it’s private.

A few other notable places.

The sky arena. Giant, ethereal arena in the sky. Basically impossible to access for most people.

The lab, that’s where we keep the two idiot siblings Zoe and Hange. Absolute psychos.

And an old, overgrown coffee shop.

An old expeditionist(basically just someone who ventures out into innerworld.) said there was a palace way far South west of the front.

it was Not witch house. there were some dreams in a witch house for sure but essentially all elements of lovecraft had been subtracted from it in its entirety. that’s okay, it was still fun, but it wasn’t witch house. there was a little bit of mathematics and discussions about another dimension but treated very much in the “otherworld” way. it wouldve been extremely cool to have this otherworld be an actual mathematical dimension in reality, but it’s only hinted at for the audience and the characters understand it as a limbo world. nice little bit of lovecraft underlying the whole thing you know? choosing to call it frank elwood has a terrible time to distinguish, courtesy of nik

the ghosts? i have very mixed feelings about them. my idea of ghosts and haunting is very specific and WAY more detached than the ghosts here. grief and the inability to move on was super cool, grief is one of the main things involved in my witch house, but i think it could’ve been done a little better? epperly is a little too human. siblings is fun and i really love exploring that dynamic, and as a motivation....after thinking about it a bit i think it can work, i think that a mythos story driven by that overwhelming love rather than knowledge could be neat. walter was still a little bit of a freak so i give the siblings thing a pass. i NEED a witch house adaptation where he is so fucked up though. the movie is in my head i swear and he gets Worse as he gets less sleep and falls deeper into that obsession. elwood mentions in the text that there’s incidents with other students and i want to see that side of walter. the greying with stress was there though which win! sidetracked anyways

The buckleys coming back will add great to buck breakdown arc but I'm curious as to how theyre gonna play it with them visiting. Like there reason there in town i jee0yun birthday or idk I cant see it being injured buck though.

The Buckley parents being back is going to be so so good I just know it!

We have zero knowledge about why they're back, or even in what form their return is going to take - all we have to go on is a couple of costumes and Oliver mentioning them being back in a couple of interviews, but there are so many options to explore.

Obviously they're going to be back because both Buck and Maddie have unresolved trauma to deal with in relation to their parents, and this plays into the narrative for their characters this season parenthood - for Maddie its exploring her breaking the cycle (and not breaking the cycle at the same time because she already did it with Buck) and learning how to be a good parent - the kind of parent her own weren't for her (or Buck), its about showing us the contrast between what Maddie is doing to raise Jee-Yun in a loving home and what she experienced as a child herself.

As for Buck - well his parents are the route of all of his trauma - they are why he's never felt wanted or like he is deserving of love or peoples time, that he's worth more than 'defective spare parts' and that he has worth. his parents need to return for him to reach any sort of resolution.

I personally am of the opinion that Buck will have to accept that he will never get from his parents what he so desperately craves - that there is no real redemption for his parents and no salvaging his relationship with them (or indeed building one with them in the first place) and that season 6 is going to ultimately be about him recognising this and that he has worth without their love or approval. That is where his true growth lies, because once he accepts this he can heal (healing and growth isn't always about getting to somewhere mutually - I think his parents are too far gone into their grief and self obsession to be able to grow with Buck - unlike we've seen from Ramon or Toni or even Beatrice) and begin to recognise his worth and the love of those around him. The familial love of the firefam and the romantic love he's been growing with Eddie without truly understanding it.

This all then ties into him breaking the cycle of parental love - with him realising/ understanding and acknowledging that he doesn't have to give a part of himself away (his sperm) to have worth - or for someone else to get to be a parent (because I'm convinced that a part of the reason Buck said yes to being a sperm donor is because he thinks that a a child with his DNA has a better chance of having good parents if he isn't involved - (i'm going to word this terribly) because he grew up with bad parents and so in his mind he would also be a bad parent - so in his mind he's subconsciously thinking that they'll be loved in a way he wasn't growing up - and that is better than him raising his own child) in his place. He's also going to really begin to realise that he's already broken that cycle - that he's been raising a child - Christopher - and that his parental love isn't conditional on DNA etc.

As for context of their visit - we don't even know if it is a visit - it appears that they're filming in another life at the moment which could very much be an exploration of an alternate universe - where Buck was able to save Daniel and he grew up loved and wanted by his parents and with two older siblings - if this is the case, it will all play into what Buck needs to learn about himself in order to move on.

If we're not entering the realms of AU, then anything to do with Jee-Yun is a possibility - a birthday etc, or perhaps with Maddie and Chim moving into a new house - theres a house warming of some sort. Its also possible that they find out about Buck donating sperm and decide to pay a visit for that reason, perhaps they come at Bucks request because of something he reads in a self help book - or as part of his year of yes, or there is the option that the show could choose to pick up on the joint therapy from season 4 again. Honestly there are so many reasons for them to visit that it's hard to begin to parse it out with the little information we have.

I'm not prepared to dismiss the idea of it being for injured Buck though because I think there are a few interesting ways to take that as well - in fact I rather like the idea of injured Buck being the reason they visit - as if they're trying to show willing on that front (from their lack of it in previous times) and it leading to arguement between them and Buck and subsequently to Buck accepting that they won't change and that he can stop putting effort into his relationship with them etc. In many ways I actually think this would be an interesting way to take things because it allows for the exploration of so many aspects of who Buck is and why he's the way he is, and hell this direction could also include the AU aspect - if its as a result of Buck being in a coma or something!

What I do know is that the show will surprise us and it will be very impactful and move Bucks story forward in a lot of ways! I can't wait!
