SPOILERS FOR ALL MY CURRENTLY RELEASED FICS, just thought this would be fun for anyone that enjoys my stuff. You can kinda get an idea of what the fic is before it's y'know the full, completed thing. Sometimes I write down specific quotes I want in the story, and most of the time I also plot out the metaphors I want to use and stuff to sort of keep everything connected (but i have decided to forgo the metaphor-plotting). yn is soooooo depressed. so seungkwan and soonyoung and host an intervention (seungkwan is a second opinion)

chan develops a theory that someone mightve harassed yn at the party and he has heard women can b embarrassed ab that type of thing 

chan finally rips yn to his house and hes ANGRY bc shes been ignoring him and shes scared and feels bad and they have this big argument (“WHY WONT U LET ME HELP YOU”)  where she ends up confessing and chan realizes in that moment that hes in love with her too

Yn still comes to the get together much to chans surprise! She keeps trying to apologize but ppl KEEP getting in the way! So chan is like just wait here until after the thing and shes like ok lmao. 

Chan and yn sex scene but first they gotta like. Talk out their differences. “I always felt a bit like judas”

yn and the girlies confront woozi after class in a secluded classroom. they interrogate. woozi, usually cold and cynical, cracks under the pressure of vicious angry girls and admits. hes writing it down so he knows how to approach his crush. yn is sad. 

yn thinking over her relationship with woozi. yeri (roommate) is annoyed bc she can hear her thinking (outrageous). flashback to the party where woozi #fucked her and shes wondering if it was really that long ago (it was). 

the girls have adopted woozi, and yn kinda thinks its torture bc now she is sad around him (and v insecure bc DOES NO ONE WANT HER?). but they coo and they love him bc hes such a sweet boy, and they’re giving him tips while theyre doing their makeup for a night out  and hes writing it down diligently. he asks her if shes ok. shes a little taken aback. yeah i am. 

another night of helping woozi and adopting him. mingyu wants 2 join but hes NOT one of the girls and hes all whiny and sad about it bc he does NOT want to go out with seungcheol and jeonghan again theyre mean. too bad. ur not woozi. this is for woozi and girls only. i imagine woozi pulls yn to the side and asks her directly like. i know ur not okay. i can tell. there’s something wrong. yn is like. i dont want to talk about it. woozi is like fine queen. 

mingyu (who is closest to yn) WANTS TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING IN WITH THE ADOPTED WOOZI THING. hes asking her over lunch and shes all angry ab it. she finally spills that hewas writing down notes for his crush and now shes sad bc  she kinda likes him and thought they had smth going on. mingyu is shook. he partially thinks the whole girl code book is rlly funny but he also feels bad. he buys her a froyo. 

at another party and mingyus mission is to get yn laid so shes no longer insecure and so she can get over woozi. introduces her to wonwoo and they talk at the party. while theyre talking yn notices woozi storming off from the party and putting two and two together, she figures things probably went south w his crush. she catches up to him outside the party and hes all angry and buff and doesnt want to talk to her. a heated discussion w jealousy and woozi finally confesses by being like. ok wait and he goes into a random garden and picks out a couple of flowers and start reciting the confession script on his phone. yn is like. noar way. shes shook and doesnt say anything and so woozi starts being all apologetic like. i know its not roses and i know its not exactly the setting you guys told me- yn kisses him tihi. they kiss then have the sex. its great. jealous sex. yum.

anwyay back 2 brainrot [idm published but this makes me shy again uhehe] she's that lil spark in the weeks when xiao is asleep bc of that blunt innocence she naturally has, and lumine zhongli sometimes find it hard to escape their own thoughts everytime they see xiao on bed unmoving. its depressing its still worrying despite it being a form of recovery, and venti's flute already stitched the most grave of wounds. "but people who know xiao, whether just barely or through zhongli speaking of him or through lumine speaking of him, wishing him well sending regards and how does that make any sense? that those who know so little about him would care that he gets better?" u see like, i had this cute but sad scene once that since zhongli doesnt allow too many visitors but ppl have also caught on when lumine sees Other People once in a while esp when she can only roam in liyue (whether usual traveler stuff, or she has a hand in the exorcist family duty of helping in the fallen conquerer of demons' stead after the incident) they sense that grief and asked, and it doesnt take a lot to connect the dots regarding the incident bc ppl know abt that demonic presence but only a few can guess its xiao too.

and taking that message, and out of respect knowing xiao would feel even more guilty to be visited, sends their well wishes their own way. occassionally during pre-awakening, they get letters and gifts at the inn. short get well messages. herbal tea. adeptal medicine recipes. lots, and lots of flowers from both the qixing and adepti. they had to make use of the flowers somehow before it wilts, and paimon had the idea of weaving it to crowns. she fails once, at lumine's amusement, fails twice, and a few more times until she manages a sloppy looking once out of liyue's flowers. who's it going to be for then? her traveler partner would ask halfway through a perfect crown of her own. well, guess! but not a single smug one is correct, not the inn staff not the boss lady not even herself or zhongli. surprise surprise; the first to get the honors is xiao, as the activity was done on the very bed he sleeps so he can 'have fun' too. paimon proudly, but also so gentle and careful, puts the crown as if it and xiao would break under the gesture. he looks pretty. he looks serene, if one can take away the eyebags and slow breathing and unmoving fingers and bandages lightly decorated around him. he's pretty for his own good, even in slumber. lumine chuckles at the whole deal, but she wasnt sure out the amusement or that shes touched of the ideas her companion does that doesnt feel too much and genuinely lighting up such a dull day.

I LOVE THIS SO BADDDDDDDDDDDDD childish in a good way is SO real like god, and xiao having a soft spot for her ohhh my god. okay so like. not to Totally talk abt smth else but. one of my FAVORITE games from when i was really little is called dust: an elysian tail. and the protagonist is kinda serious but also friendly and MAD powerful and has no memory of who he was before, and!!! he has!!! a small flying companion who acts as his guide through the world and people often refer to as a toy or a mascot. her name is fidget. and her fandom treatment is HORRIFIC from what little ive seen but. but. ingame. their dynamic is EVERYTHING i wish paimon and the traveler had. dust is kind to her, they argue a little bit sometimes because they dont always understand each other but fidget grows really close to him, she has SO much faith in him even when he lacks faith in himself, she pulls him back when his mind starts to get to him, she's always there by his side stays there even in battles because her magic is really weak but dusts own abilities are able to make use of an amplify it. they're a team !!! they're a genuine team. there's a point where they try SO hard and they save this town but a sick character they were really trying to help in doing that still dies, and fidget is a bit younger a bit more naive and it REALLY gets to her. like. "but we did everything we were supposed to do..." not understanding how he still passed when they did everything right. and dust just kind of quietly has to tell her how sometimes even that isnt enough. and they learn SO much from each other and its just !!!!! fidget is treated like her own character, not a mascot or a scapegoat, and its SO good, and i think of them every time i think about the traveler and paimon its unreal. that's the treatment paimon deserves she should be a teammate and a person and a guide not. so,,, why don't i believe in soulmates?

well, if soulmates exist (and i say 'soulmates' referring to just... ur fated person, not red string of fate or other soul mate au. soulmate in the most... biological/physiological way possible; coming from the same star or smth. i dont remember the whole thing but theres a theory/idea that you and your soulmate come from the same star and when the star burst the atoms created you and ur partner etcetc idk it's my favourite soulmate theory/au thing but anyways) GETTING BACK ON TRACK. if soulates exist, that kind of alludes to the idea that... everything happens/happened for a reason.

the idea of a soulmate existing, of someone who.. idk, makes up for your faults, who always manages to deal with your faults and who's your perfect other half etc. is like.. it.. means that if A and B are soulmates, then the existence of A means that all of the things that happened to B happened for a reason to enable A to be that perfect puzzle piece that fits right in. i don't know if that makes sense.

we are who we are because of the thigns that we experience - all of our our strengths come from the challenges we face, and all of the positive encouragers in our life. our supports facilitate our development, but our challenges also shape us, as much as we hate it. taking the easy example of trauma - our trauma response in both the short and long term affects how we act and how we react to things. the idea of a soul,ate who just.. naturally understands and is able to facilitate these (potentially) disabling responses means that the traumatic event was. idk. fated to happen. happened for a reason, etc.

and that's not to say that no one exists out there who will be able to facilitate and understand and love someone despite their 'flaws', but the concept of a 'soulmate' somehow takes away the humanness of human connection?

if A is able to accomodate all of B's 'flaws', it should be because they want to and because they, somewhere along the line, have learnt hte skills to do that, and the people who taught/displayed the skills did so not because it was 'fated' but because that's how humanity works and- and maybe yeah this is because i don't want to believe that a lot of the things i and other people have experienced was 'meant' to happen for some reason, but yeah.

i don't know man i could go on for EVER about this. idek if what i've said has made sense. and i know the question probably isn't as deep as i made it out to be but i love talking about human connection and about how everything makes us us and maybe not exactly in a psychoanalytical way but if i understoood the concepts of psychoanalysis i would have typed up a proper 3000word essay.

Throwing random thoughts, headcanons, and a variety of pasta at the wall (but only those having to do with vessels and/or their biology this time): The Thrilling Third Installment™

Thk's larger form is not the standard, but the exception. Thk was cited as being "raised and trained to prime form", which people take to mean pk assisted in the vessel's natural growth. However, that conclusion leaves a lot of unanswered questions, most important of which being “then what about Ghost?” In short, I think that train of thought is backwards. Vessels can't grow- they are ageless, and immortal. We know this due to Ghost, despite living as long if not longer than thk, being completely unchanged over the years. The only thing pk trained into "prime form" was thk’s mind and fighting prowess. Their body... well, I think it was mutated. Most likely either directly by pk, or ordered by him- and with the shenanigans happening over in the sanctum, I wouldn't be surprised if Soul was involved, too. In any case, it was in no means natural. Vessels are corpses reanimated by void; neither corpses nor void tend to make drastic changes on their own all that often. Whether pk predicted the vessel’s “issues” and intended to manually “upgrade” them from the beginning, it's hard to say. But... yeah. Unless Ghost goes out of their way to make themselves grow- if its even possible, now that pk is gone- its fairly safe to say, they never will.

...with that in mind, we are promptly gonna ignore that for the rest of this post lmaooo

Grown-up vessels wouldn't look like thk; while they are described as being raised into "prime form"... prime form, to whom? Rather than looking like an idealized pk soldier, it sounds much more fitting that they’d have an entirely different, natural adult form. Consider: their cloaks being longer and fuller, perhaps filling out into something with a more practical use to their “species”. Better yet, they could even grow up to be more beast-like. Feral vessels, YEhaW

The black egg temple is cited as being "built to sustain [vessels]", yet it can't be their lifespan that is sustained. Rather, it seems the egg is specifically designed to keep the radiance from tearing thk apart, physically and/or mentally. Ngl its p obvious, but worth noting.

Sorta-au where Ghost’s shade has 8 eyes, and/or is generally all-around more cryptid-looking.

@ the sharpshadow charm and the strange, 6-eyed creature their shade turns into: kudos to this post, they bring up something super interesting- the creature not only resembles the Shade Lord, but the lord outright becomes it during the Embrace the Void cutscene.

makes me respect the ol’ civilization a whole lot more if a single charm can turn a baby shade into a baby lord.

The concept of finding ghosts unconscious body, laying next to a corpse, while they battle in their dreams. Alt: when ghost enters the dream realm, their shade leaves their shell... And protects their body from harm.

If steel soul mode is taken as canon, just how did ghost and the shade meet? Alt: Ghost may never have “met” it at all, as it technically doesn’t exist in that mode- instead, its more of a metaphor than an actual entity.

What the vessels looked like- or were supposed to look like- before the void. Alt: a story following a child, alive and untouched, that somehow managed to be spared. They could even have a gender. Alt alt: the void intentionally spared them for some purpose, or even out of simple kindness- or at least, something that resembles kindness.

Re: the shade inexplicably having a nail: all the vessel's swords are crafted from “will-bearing rock”- of which i’ve come to lovingly call living stone- and as such, are of void themselves. That's how the shade seems to conjure up its own copy; it merely shapes it, from the ground, using void. And, while more of a stretch, Ghost’s nail being some sort of living stone/pale ore alloy could explain just how Ghost can do seemingly pretty crazy things with an otherwise ordinary nail. Better, while 100% a baseless hc, its material might actually enable Ghost to build it up and modify it to suite their size as they grow older. finally, a logical reason adult Ghost has an adult-sized nail-claymore. hdsfghjfghdsjf

On that same thought: Ghost outright invented the "art" of manipulating- or creating- living stone to make their nail. ...gimme a sec. The other escaped vessels have nails, too, right? Either meaning they also discovered this ability... or that theres some legitimate ground for the “vessel gang” hc. Or, yanno, i’m reading too much into Ari’s sprites but sHHhh

How did all the vessels know to race to the top? They seemed to be falling merely because they had just been born and had literal, actual baby strength; yet not only did they inexplicably risk everything competing to the top, they somehow knew death was waiting if they lost. Alt: pk just, bringing a fucking megaphone and telling them like a sports announcer.

What if Ghost made it, and instead of falling, they managed to joined thk at the lip? What would pk do? Push them off the edge??? Or just adopt them both?? Oh fuck au where they're raised as twin sacrifices. Or worse yet, they’re raised unequally, and one is trained only as an afterthought. As a backup.

Alternatively, pk keeps all the vessels au, only a few years later when they're grown. Pk now has a literal army of pure knights. Radiance is fucked.

Hm. If vessels were fully coherent entities from the moment of birth, why was there a crib in the white palace? Did... did they use it? I have a feeling team cherry made that asset before the abyss scene lmaooo alt: they did, uh, use the crib. Cue a very awkward scene of thk, clearly not a normal baby, staring at wl with like... idk, the poofy baby hat and pacifier. I can’t tell if the image is more funny or more sad rn shdfgfjsdgg

The og notes that inspired this post, in case my rambling makes more sense (and w/o the awful comic hjsfgjsdfhj): Oh oh OH i GET it now. The void is all about "will" and whatnot, right? And shades are "fragments of a lingering will"- will, like the one you leave after your death, but instead of inheritance its the vessels' desires...last regrets.... DAMN team cherry, that symbolism is clever as heck. That took me a while. Ghost, walking thru the abyss, getting increasingly fed up / freaked out, ducking into a crack in the wall. They follow the crack into the Scream Chamber, pause, then exhale in relief that this was EXACTLY what they needed.

I can’t believe it just occured to me now, but... as objectivley stupid as the vessel’s test was, Ghost... technically came in second place. What if that whole scene was a metaphor? Because really, it’s just too silly to take seriously. To do so isn’t too far fetched, either; many other elements in the game’s story are better taken as symbolic or metaphorical, anyways. Take the PoP cutscene- while it could’ve been a literal moment, where they just happened to find themselves standing around and took the moment to appreciate each other... imo it makes much more sense to read it as the concept of their faint ~forbidden love~ and parental pride itself. Or, better yet, the scene at the end of the 4th pantheon. Sorry, but I severely doubt that was an actual event. What I’m trying to get at is the significance of “second place” in the cutscene. My brain is too fried to chase down any other possible connections to this theme rn (if thats even what the theme is), but even without proof, the theory smooths out a few interesting tidbits related to just how Ghost could tough it out when all others failed. All except for #1, anyway. Either way I’m just happy to take this as an excuse to pretend that cutscene didn’t literally happen because like, l m a o

The story of a small group of vessels as they work together to escape hallownest. (aka the aforementioned vessel gang hc... im sure theres a more formal name but you get the idea). Its impossible to tell how long it took them to discover that near-invisible hole, the last exit remaining after the king ordered the abyss to be sealed up. Once they did, however, the remaining vessels were quick to make a desperate scramble to escape- only for the entrance to suddenly crumble shut, far, far too soon. The remaining 8 slowly made their way through deepnest, their numbers quickly dwindling as the jouney started to take its toll. The group was nearly wiped out by those terrible, spiney-legged creatures that used their own kinship against them. Only three finally escaped the deep, yet only two made it through the basin- the third, largest sibling, left to fight alone againt a hopeless battle, just to buy the others time. It was in greenpath, so close yet so far to their goal, that the second succumbed to the infection. It was a mercy killing, that nail through the heart. The last, after all of that, finally made their way to the very precipice of howling cliffs, hesitating for just a moment to gaze out upon the still-fresh ruins of hallownest. But only for a moment, before Ghost jumps down to begin their journey beyond this wretched place.

Ugh ugh ugh ugh Either thk was fully conscious and in terrible pain for all those years... or they couldn’t feel anything at all. The former is horrible, but imagining thk waking up, chained, unable to do anything but wait for Ghost to heed their call? Did they turn their nail on themselves to help Ghost, end the pain, or some awful mix of both? For someone who has personally dealt with close friends and family that struggled with suicide themselves, hollowknight is one of the worst horror stories I've ever seen. And the fact that the story is so personal, so open to interpretation? The fact that each character is so genuine yet vague enough to be read completely differently to someone else’s biases? Its why hollow knight- the game, and the character- will forever be one of the most powerful stories to me.

Shinigami Record - I’m gonna start with this one because i was already planning on making a post about how underappreciated this song is… half of this post is probably gonna be about this song alone so i might as well put it as nuumbr one tbh

Musically it’s really simple and just so amazingly gentle. I feel like the slow piano and the way its played in the verses helps to convey Azami’s feelings really well. It starts as just a bunch of lonely piano notes, but then as Azami finds someone who loves her, feelings grow and change, so does the guitar replace the piano for the second verse. Then the harmonies for the part when Azami creates the Kagerou Daze make it feel not only more mystical but also give it more emotion. She creates it filled with love for her family after all, this part needed to have a lot of emotion in it! But then it quiets down and the lonely piano returns.. the guitar and piano interlace each other(i cant find a good english word for it im sorry) while Azami’s voice is growing more unsure and then ‘gasps’ with the realization, in a way. The harmonies return and we hear both the lonely piano and the love-filled guitar. Azami is really conflicted and u can HEAR that!! Then it bursts with the pitch change and you can just hear how heartbroken she is! the highest note really reminds me of when people are trying to sing but they’re crying so their technique is egh but it has so much emotion?? idk maybe its just IAs voice… and then after she sings “I still love you” theres a drop that sounds like slamming doors and the guitar is GONE. It ends on the same lonely piano we started with(different pitch blahblah i know ok) but there’s also the added noise that you can either hear traffic in, OR the sea/ocean waves. I KNOW im reading way too much into this but traffic could allude to our time, where the main story is set and the fact that what Azami did has consequences reaching much further than she could have ever imagined but also that despitwat happened, most people don’t even know about her story and everythings… well, normal. The sea waves would be just like the world she’s come to love and she’s leaving it all behind i guess lolThe way this song tells Azami’s story is uh, very simplified, but i think it works well. It gives you enough information to feel sorry for her even if it doesn’t really explain much. We only see Azami’s perspective so i’m not surprised or disappointed that reasons behind Tsukihiko’s disappearance arent really stated. Also i’m kind of glad it doesn’t delve deeper into the story, because i personally really didn’t like these chapters of the manga at all lol bc i didnt agree with the characterization and it didnt show Azami’s loneliness as much and kind of ruined the magic. I like Azami’s story when its still told as a kind of fairytale…This is also probably THE best Kagepro song in terms of tuning, too. idk what happened but i feel like here it’s much more soft than the other songs which makes it all the more enjoyable.

Remind Blue - Easily the best song on the Mekakucity Reload album. While i adore Additional Memory as well, my heart belongs to Remind Blue. Because the range isn’t that big, Miku’s voice and Jin’s tuning of don’t get overbearing. Im also a sucker for lyrics connecting to past events or symbols so the whole time reading the translation i was just lying in bed like kermit surrounded by heart emojis. I may or may not make a cover of this one…

Lost Time Memory - I feel like all that could be said about this song has already been said so I’ll just say i love it. I was introduced to it through Juby’s english cover(Classical Rock Arr. version!! thats important, i love this arrangement probably more than the original but the dude who made it just doesnt have a nice voice for this song… Juby’s not perfect but this cover’s good enough) an really this is the song that made me want to learn about Kagepro so there’s a lot of pure nostalgia connected to this one.

4. Ayano’s Theory of Happiness - whenever i tell someone new about kagepro i always say this is the song that makes me cry and laugh the hardest. I laugh a lot because of the tv anime version bc lmao every time i see it i LOSE IT gndnsdgs The reason i cry is quite obvious i think, but i still feel the need to specify it’s because of the lyric “so I hope you can love tomorrow”. It’s just such a simple thing but it makes me tear up 99% of the time. And like the thing is, the last couple of lines aren’t directed at any particular character either so its like she’s singing to us. She hopes we can love tomorrow as well… and just for you Ayano, I will try.

Also MARiA’s cover is the best one i barely listen to the original now lmao

5. Summertime Record - did i mention im a sucker for lyrics where the character is looking back at what happened? bc yeah i am. This song is really dear to my heart for some reason so much so that when at a camp with the choir ive been in for like 6years we were supposed to make a little song about it for the last campfire, i managed to get my friends to write the lyrics to this song with me and i think that in itself is very fitting to this song. and just.. yeah the whole thing just feels very welcoming and I love Haruka so

6. Children Record - BOYS👏 AND👏 GIRLS👏 yeah this song staight up slaps and i love it (altho i mostly listen to the version with MARiA bc the tuningin this one :’) its realy good go listen) and uh yeah its just a really good opening to the series! idk what to say exactly so uh really lets not drag this out

Additional Memory - so when this song came out i had to lay down for like a week bc just… woah yeah ok!! all the motifs and melodies from other songs just hit me so HARD and THE PV OH MY GOOOD i was SCREAMING! and youre absolutely right about the lyrics!! “if this were all a misunderstanding, i don’t want to hear it” just HITS and HURTS and GOD YEAH

8. Kagerou Days - ahh classic above classics…. the one where you’ve set your expectations for Hibiya to just be a good childhood friend only to have it be crushed by other media… its just a great base for angsty AUs for anytwo cahracters that care about each other really and i love it! also like when i first listenedi was like what and when i realized whats happening i was just…  poetic cinema guy but with hearts i really love angst huh

9. Headphone Actor - I don’t know what to say apart from I love Takane, I love the whole Harutaka story, I love the metaphor and the music and I have a little lesbian moment every time i listen to LiSA’s version of the song(THE WAY SHE SHINGS “Dokoka e to mukatteru”??? IM TOO GAY FOR THIS SHIT I CANT) and its 3:30am so i cant think anymore okbut god i love LiSA’s voice

sorry this is so late! i wanted to take my time to answer it because i do have a lot of thoughtsTM hahaha more (like a LOT more) under the cut :) 

so on first listen of the album, or honestly even just from the album spoiler haha, my ears instantly focused in on cover and how to love! so i’ll probably have the most to say about those songs + time of our life since ive listened to them the most!!for me: love how its in compound meter! always love me a good 12/8 or 6/8 or whatever it is haha its felt in three basically lskj i dont have a lot to say about this song? i think the focus is more on the lyrics? but musically i cant really identify anything that really sticks out to me alkdj like typical poprock i really dont know what to say maybe theres more interesting things going on underneath that im terrible at picking out (like in the chord progressions) fav part is def the prechorus^^time of our life: its so weird talking about this now bc ive gotten so used to the song that lkj some of what im saying (like the changes i would have done) feels /wrong/ but ahaha still here are some of my thoughts^^ FIRST OF ALL WONPILS PIANO SOLO >>>>> i just really love listening to it and i think an underrated part of his solo is the i think synth drums underneath them and how it creates this driving motion for the song and so like even tho the song starts kind of bare we can go straight into that hype instrumental intro instead of like having only his solo be the intro and going straight into the more mellower verse or smth along those lines? hahaha i think on first listen the first thing that stood out to me was how the chorus sounded like an extension of the verse?  like the chorus wasnt very obvious and im not sure why in terms of like chord progression music theory, but in terms of instrumentation i think one of the reasons is because that driving quarter note drum thing we get in the chorus only resolves in the second half of the chorus instead of sometime in the first half of it. so it almost gives off this sense that we might be building up to something greater but we arent? really like all of this energy from the drums piling up for seemingly no reason and also the effect that it has on really accentuating the opening lines of the chorus dissipates imo the longer that drum rhythm plays out. like the whole “a page of beautiful youth” part that opens the chorus is mostly all quarter notes and i love how we have the quarter notes within the actual drum line to back that up but then two things after that happen: 1) we get i guess a reiteration of the opening melody in the chorus with the “let’s write it together” which i feel like having the drumming driving with those same quarter notes underneath it makes the intro of the chorus feel a bit less special and memorable? and 2) and after that line plays out, the melody becomes a bit more loose in in terms of its rhythm (the ‘i want to fill it with our memories’ part) the melody doesnt have those same impactful quarter notes anymore, but u still have the drum playing it so its kind of? like a why? at that point like i personally feel it takes away from the support it gives to the earlier melody that was obviously more driving quarter notes. i kind of wish that driving forward motion in the drumline was resolved within the third measure of the chorus with like a singular drum hit into the release (like going from here to something like here but with a drum hit in between as a transition or smth? hard to explain lks i actually had a made a video a while back kind of experimenting with the sound but idk how to upload it to here) but!! i am a fan of having those driving quarter notes coming out of the bridge i love the usage of it there and would not change a thing! i think it fits because we are actually building up to that release in the instrumental, it feels a lot different than the chorus which just feels like it drags on for a bit too long. but i would also would have liked if we had a bit of an instrumental pause or something like right after sungjin says ‘dont worry about a thing’ like after that ‘ma’ a brief pause or like even the omission of the downbeat that the drum is giving like /something/ missing before we get back into him singing ‘leave everything to me’ idk i feel like that change would have been interesting and way to build up tension again in a way?? anyways to circle back to my original point about the chorus feeling like an extension of the verse..i lowkey feel like maybe day6 felt that a bit too? laksdj and thats why we got that drum intermission bw the end of the prechorus and the start of the chorus but thats just a theory idk how true it is like honestly to me it felt slightly out of place and kind of a random transition? i dunno i could be wronghere are some misc. things not in too much detail since i think talking about one song has already gotten too long alksdj but sungjins part in the prechorus i think could have been sung a bit /gentler/ than his usual throaty approach for day6 songs idk. love the vocal layering in the chorus! maybe my headphones are terrible and maybe im biased (a bit of both or neither who knows) but laksdj i kinda wish youngks bass part was a tad bit louder he has some cool parts that often get overshadowed by the electric guitars + vocals i think (like here! the sound is so tiny in the studio i wish they had brought it out a bit more because when it is brought out it like here sounds gorgeous…that sound actually might be a bit overpowering actually haha but some happy balance bw those two). also totally random but i love the way jae says ‘한 페이지’ its just satisfying to listen to like he slurs the words a bit? whereas sungjin in his part is more staccato and lkj i think i prefer the legato connection of the words to the staccato one. also thank god they brought back the piano solo for the bridge laksjhow to love: SHE!! was a favorite/look out for since the album spoiler and she did not disappoint. wonpil said it was motown influenced? love that for them;; the chord progressions are funky and fun to listen out for! love how we get a bit of instrumental differences between the first and second reiteration of the first part of the verse?  (the introduction of this electric guitar kind of in ur left ear if ur wearing head phones thats not there initially but then also this part in the electric guitar in the right ear which isnt there also again in the first reiteration just to keep it different and not redundant! i love the prechorus, introduction of strings for chorus stellar (but im strings biased) but its just so fun to follow how its similar and different to the vocal melody also whats a day6 song without some sort of chanting! love how the rhythm in the melody follows the drum part into the chorus all three times that it happens! the bridge is funky love it haha and also just love how at the end they switch up the ‘cause im ready’ and have sungjin jae and wonpil each sing one of those and then have youngk end with the ‘ooooh’ i thought that was adorable. ok keeping it short thats all i’ll saywanna go back: not to be a svt stan but holiday is that you? hahah jkjk its just a similar genre its like holiday meets maroon 5 haha i actually enjoy a lot of the song the chord progressions in the verses are interesting but also the prechorus is really pretty sounding but lakjd i honestly wish the tempo was just a little bit faster in the chorus i feel like its dragging a bit its hard for me personally to stay engaged with the song because of the murky feeling i personally get from the chorus. also the transition into the second verse is kinda ?? idk ahahaha but yeah main thing is just i wish the tempo was even just the tiniest bit faster for the chorus specifically i feel like verses are fine but just the chorus could have afforded to been a bit faster…but maybe this is just a personal experience cover: this is my personal favorite from the album! musically i just love the sound of the chord progressions in the verses? also the chorus! she! the vocal melody how it goes down but then u hear that piano in the background go up *chefs kiss* art! and i love the changes in the instrumental they introduced for the second verse! they added the bass i believe as well as another electric guitar part that isnt that muted plucking thing that we got in the first verse! AND THEN THE BRIDGE!!!!!!! THAT!!! IS!! A!! BRIDGE!!!! its so stunning and incredibly climatic and beautifully executed!!! i believe thats the first time the drums proper actually come in can you believe it (there are percussion sounds before but i think its a tambourine + a shaker/maraca? essentially not the drumset);; the tension that just the introduction of drums really brings to the piece ahhh and also the chord progressions really take u for a ride the first time u hear it and u dont know what to expect;; and then we get out of the chorus with ‘because im weak and not cool’ as a deviance from the earlier lyrics of ‘my weak and not cool side’ then DRUMTRIPLET!!!!! LAST CHORUS!! MORE DRUM TRIPLETS!! so wonderful the pOWER really the whole song is a huge crescendo ?? kind of influenced by the fact that they keep layering instruments which i absolutely LOVE like its beautiful haha but then the last chorus is just the quickest decrescendo ever as a way to fade out from the song but now with all the instruments (love how the last line really like enforces its importance and lyrical difference from the earlier ‘in the end i was seen’ by having that drum just punch it into u with every hit of the bass drum haha) also like how its not a true circular ending (but it kinda is) like there are instrumental and lyrical differences from the start and the end one thing i kind of wished they experimented with was like maybe mixing up some members voices in the chorus? like i tried a youngpil one myself haha where wonpil sings this part, then youngk, wonpil, youngk (again i hve a video for this but idunno how to upload to this ask) but its not like the song to me suffered from having singular member choruses i just thought it might be kinda cool haha anywhos im biased i love this song and laksj didnt even go into the lyrics rip anyways moving onbest part: i think its really cute that they composed this to be specifically be enjoyed in concert! i really like the best paaaaaaaaa aaaart like that swoop they do and the layering of the vocals i also think its super cool how some of the instrumental drop out towards the end of the chorus but alskj another ‘wanna go back’ transition into the second verse are they experimenting with this transition or smth?? but it just feels like inserted bc they couldnt think of a better way to transition into second verse which?? just kind of awkward akjl idk but maybe they have a reason for it i dont know! but yeah haha again musically im not really sure what to say kinda like for me it just feels like standard pop rock which isnt a bad thing just a /thing/ ahaha

and as for asher and toland i....... oh man. okay, so 

so i kind of came up with a...... history (kind of) repeating itself scenario? 

when i wrote that tiny bit of explanation that asher gives grier in help me polarize i just. wasnt happy with it? it wasnt that i wanted to create drama or purposefully have asher go through the same thing as grier did, i just decided that it would be interesting to give them a sure fire reason to connect, for grier to see something very similar in asher to himself. i wanted the experience asher has with toland to be similar but not exactly the same, i guess? 

i just thought it would bring them closer and give grier a strong indication that no, toland was actually terrible and that he did the right thing. because i feel like as obvious as it was and as brave as grier is for taking that step away from being taken king and realising that toland is terrible, sometimes it still takes someone who went through it as well for you to be safe and secure in the decision that you made, if that makes sense? 

and idk if anyone picked up on it, but grier is coming to asher after being told by avia about the dark future. and grier thinks very similarly to avia in that he just perceives it as ‘that was almost me.’ and yeah avia talks to him and gives him comfort but he still goes to asher in the same (less romantically, ofc) way that avia would probably break down to rook about it afterwards. 

but, anyway, the basic idea is:

asher studied with toland. toland being drawn to the darkness and knowing that the vex were closely tied to it, he found asher and convinced him to work with him. ahser ended up helping toland with some pretty intense theories and hypothesis under the impression that it was in aid of the tower and in defeating the vex, but finds out too late that he was being used to help toland justify his own perceptions of the darkness 

asher was just...... too young, too brash and insistent and alone, to realise. toland told him he was clever and smart and a credit to the warlocks and everything else. asher thought himself pragmatic enough not to care about stupid compliments but...... toland was asking him to try, just to try and capture some darkness from a hive knights sword. surely, only he could do it. they could study it together, compare it to radiolaria and finally crack the darkness's corruption, to find how it happens before anyone else does. so he does it, and doesnt even think to ask where the sample dissapears to a few days later. 

eventually he needs help. toland starts to ask for a lot, and he cant keep up. so he groups up with a couple of hunters and they help him out and they just. stick around. and asher cant get rid of them and light above they start to grow on him. and. they catch onto tolands fuckery a lot quicker than he does, and they manage to pull asher away before the worst happens, and when toland turns into a heretic and talks of exile happen, ashers hunters are there to tell him that there was nothing he could have done. 

and. i mean. in a sense, in the smallest way, history repeats itself. 

think of it kind of like harry potter and the half blood prince. one of the main scenes in that film is harry having to get a memory from a professor who essentially told voldemort how to make himself immortal. but that professor has cast away and warped that memory because of his guilt. asher has essentially done the same, because he doesnt want to face the notion that he contributed to a whole fireteam dying because he didnt warn them about his lies or his manipulation, because he wanted nothing to do with toland after his exile, and theres a part of him that thinks maybe, just maybe he could have prevented him from becoming so obsessed.

but. tolands dead, so, he’s fine. 

(theres just. this scene in my head of asher coming face to face with a dead man and light above what can he do?? he’s a dead man walking, one arm, no weapons, no ghost. 

but griers hurt and avia is nowhere to be seen, none of kindred light are anywhere and he cant contact them theres nothing he can do and toland just 

smiles that sickeningly sweet smile and its only now that asher can see the malice behind it, as he pushes a kneeling grier over with his foot and says, ‘well, i guess history has a habit of repeating itself’ - crushes griers scrambling ghost as it tries to heal him, ‘but this time im taking the little wretch with me.’)

and i mean, if u disagree pin or anything like that pls let me know aha idk it was just a wayward thought and im really enjoying exploring manipulative characters at the moment and toland is a nice semi-blank canvas to go with

5: Guilty pleasures

plex is an oddball case in this one because most ppl would probably be like “oh yeah my guilty pleasures r like staying up playing videogames all weekend” or w/e but plex exists in a world of opposites where it’s very much The Norm for him to just kind of be procrastinating and indulging in junk food and various media all the time, However his friend group is just the rest of the IT krewe and while they’re also all into those kinds of guilty pleasures its sort of their Social Culture to be really into like videogaming all weekend and eating shit food, and so they’re also very into Cringe Culture meaning like. the stuff that plex would consider guilty pleasures are things his coworkers would Disapprove Of and find 2 cringey or ~soft~ so plex’s guilty pleasures are probably somewhere along the lines of like... god idk.... plex hasn’t really been allowed to explore his interests outside of this group so honestly it’s less he has any SPECIFIC guilty pleasures, the man just feels guilty and bad every time he’s like an actual friendly decent gentle person for once.......... which is semi often because despite being an obnoxious twit he is not actually bad 2 the bone....................

im not sure about hyper specific things but plex probably has a lot of traumas(TM) stemmed from having health issues as a child, e.g. getting picked on in pre-college or having doctors fuss at him (he’s always been physically weak and exhausted really easy on top of eye issues-- his pale appearance and issues come from him being essentially the asura pattern equiv of a double merle). plex being plex also he has a tendency to Run His Mouth and he’s undoubtably said a LOT of short sighted stuff over the years that still haunts him at night hjkgf

12: Grudges and vendettas

plex holds grudges A Lot..................................... the main one i can think of is he’s like. pissed at both his parents simultaneously jhkfgd he’s pissed at his dad for running off and being a total absentee father but pissed at his mom for chasing his dad off in the first place. (tho he still ends up wanting their approval/etc and is sort of chasing the trail of vague info potentially leading to his dads whereabouts atm)

oh boy.............. plex is in a weird position with this because being inquest but doing IT for inquest he’s never had a very direct hand in killing people but he absolutely facilitates it by fixing up their machines

he’s probably mostly at his desk and not usually observing inquest scientists doin their thing cus when he’s gotta trudge out to the rest of the base he mashes some buttons and then trudges back over to the IT dept but there’s prrrrobably been uh, a few cases he’s Witnesses ppl testing “ok hold on sit tight a sec while i make sure this laser/horrible device works Now” or machines instantly firing up and resuming their programs when he like, plugs them back in (after someone accidentally unplugged it and made angry calls to IT for an hour demanding they move them up their queue and come fix their machine RIGHT NOW so they can resume their IMPORTANT RESEARCH and they never figured out they just unplugged it)

plex actually Witnessing these things is probably uhh Not a good experience for him, plex IN THEORY is all “oh the inquest does bad things but like its necessary for scientific advancement.. :/” but actually seeing a machine you just fixed like scramble someone’s physical matter is very. viscerally unnerving and nauseating to him and he really does not like having that “my guy the shit you do facilitates a LOT of painful murder” connection made abundantly clear to him, and it probably shakes his devotion to the inquest a bit before he decides to stuff those feelings back into pandora’s box and pretend everything is fine. definitely ends up replaying the scenes in bad dreams or night anxiety episodes tho

hey jude!!! just read ur last anon abt being nb and wondered if u could talk abt ur own gender experience?

well basically i didnt grow up in a very open household, like rly Zero discussion of gender, so i know i Experienced gender entirely but i played almost exclusively with the boys in my class until probably grade 6 or 7, & at puberty, even tho i was a better athlete than most boys in my class still, i started hanging out with girls more, at recess, etc. i was always into androgyny, even if i had no idea (& i didn’t) what that was—i liked some femme things, absolutely, but i wanted nothing to do w skirts or pretty shoes. i wanted to be in adidas running sneakers 24/7 if i could help it, & i wore a uniform to school w the option of a skirt/pants, & im p sure i always wore pants. at the time this, to me, seemed more functional, & it was, but it was also, as i can understand now, something that made me feel Less like a girl, although not at all like a boy.

when i was older, 12, 13, 14, my parents wanted me to dress nicer, & i was v much into like american eagle shit, although by mid hs i was into some vintage stuff. one rly big odd style influence for me was mia wasikowksa in this weird movie called restless bc it was this v soft femme androgyny & i think for me this kind of gender expression became very important to see & understand. it wasn’t that she didn’t look like a girl, or that she wasn’t a girl, but she also sometimes looked like a boy, or wore boys clothes, but she wasn’t butch. idk this movie sent me for a loop honestly lol. 

& obviously my understanding of gender expression didn’t correlate (& doesn’t correlate!) w so many gender identities, & “passing” is extremely harmful as a notion, etc. but when i was younger my understanding of gender & sexuality was very limited & began to expand when i saw very femme but still andro ppl, even tho i couldn’t articulate it at the time. 

when i was a teenager i knew i didnt want to rly have a single thing to do w any boy, which made me sure i was a lesbian bc thats the only narrative i’d rly known abt queerness, or queer women, or even queer ppl who presented as femme. there werent any out lesbians at my school (no fucking way), & the only out queer kid at all was a white gay guy a year older than me, who was popular in the way white gay boys can be popular in high school. but i read voraciously, was fascinated by the crossdressing in shakespeare (paris in the merchant of venice was a particular fixation of mine?) & anyway. i knew i was queer, i knew i liked girls, & i knew i was outrageously uncomfortable w my body, particularly my breasts. for a long time i thought this was because i was ashamed of my sexuality, when i came to sort of understand that, but ofc now i know abt dysmorphia & dysphoria, so yknow. knowledge.

when i went to college i came out big time, & it became very important to me to both be queer & look sort of queer but not queer enough to be Queer—i wanted ppl to be like ‘maybe into girls, but maybe straight.’ as im sure many of us know, this was a lot of internalized shame abt a lot of things, so that sucks. however, i cut my hair which was like the first comfortable thing i had done for my appearance in a v long time, & also smth which my parents hated & i did anyway. i wore a Lot of rly femme stuff bc they hated it tho? so this was all v confusing for me bc my parents are v homophobic, & here i was in college starting to read queer theory & gender theory & falling in love w like. the most beautiful, brilliant girl, & also spiraling into a mixed episode after i got diagnosed w bipolar I, which sort of put everything else on the backburner for a year. 

eventually tho i sorted that out (as much as u can sort smth like that out) & i started to rly pay attention to androgyny. i went to europe & i think theres a whole bunch of nuances to fashion that exist there that certainly arent here, & i spent a winter in warsaw so there were aspects to fashion & expression there that were entirely abt functionality, which i was v attracted to. in college, as well, & especially after college, gender became smth i was v much invested in bc i was (& absolutely am) a feminist, so my place in the canon & zeitgeist was one as a queer female writer. it was so so central to who i was, & what i was writing abt. every single thing i wrote in college was in some way a balm, some sort of piece abt myself, learning abt trauma & the body. sorting through a lot of hurt. i could write a theory piece abt elizabeth bishop & reading it back now i know it was also abt me, that kinda stuff.

when i went to toronto i rly rly started being invested in looking critically at gender & my experience of it bc being read as a woman was smth that was grating on me, even tho i had identified as woman for so long, & had no desire at all to transition. i know 100% i am not a trans man, so that was confusing for a long time because i sort of knew there was a space between but it was very hard to conceptualize. eventually i sort of came to understand gender is a color wheel where cis boys are blue & cis women are pink & then theres literally a ton of other colors out there, so yknow. lots of different experiences of gender. some days i feel much more strongly like i identify w women (in mostly political situations, it matters to me to be read as “female” sometimes bc rights for ppl w vaginas AND trans women are FUCKED UP in so many places). some days i hate the idea of identifying as a woman. i also never want to identify as a man. so when i was in toronto i rly started to know a LOT of queer ppl w so many different expressions of gender. & we were all young & lovely & open & fucked up & we would get fucked up but we would also go read together in the park & wander around alleys in the snow & like. there’s a Muchness to toronto that i experienced that helped me, personally, understand these intersections between my own sexuality & gender & expression as much more than just a gay woman who isn’t butch & isn’t femme. i was rly lucky to become part of a community that identified as Queer, & so i became v much understanding of these different aspects of my own identity that fell outside of binary—my sexuality, my gender. Queerness is a vital & profound thing to me & i was rly able (& so fortunate) to have a close friend group of mostly queer ppl & then a few of the actual literally most incredible allies i’ve ever known & will ever know. 

so then from there i just rly kinda thought abt things & like i got a binder & stuff in TO but rly started to evaluate my dysmorphia & dysphoria (i had struggled really badly w an eating disorder in/post college) & was able to sort out that so much of it had to do w feeling uncomfortable in the way my body was read in the world. & that will always happen bc i LOVE makeup & i have a “feminine” voice & sometimes i love skirts & i shave my legs bc i like how it feels sometimes & i dont ever want to go on T—none of these things make anyone ANY gender, but ofc theyre coded as “female.” but i’m learning to just yknow educate where i can & take a lot of solace in the community of ppl i have fostered who support & understand my Being. i’ve also allowed myself to be invested in aesthetics & fashion & how much a role that plays bc like. yah fuck Yah i look cool shit bc my friends love it & absolutely i wanna wear the same vans maia mitchell has & i want a melodrama hoodie & i LOVE local toronto designers & their angsty patches abt sad songs & whiskey but i love fashion born out of histories that is connected to smth i can understand, like queer punk movements, or smth my friends & i share, like blundstones (which are gender neutral, which is cool). i’m fascinated in how ppl express their Selves, & we are so unfortunately Finite in our bodies in the sense that that’s rly how the world, in our day to day interactions, processes who & what we are. so i invest in the care of mine by trying to listen to it, trying to make it comfortable—& clothing is a huge thing that can do that. also its fun so anyone who thinks loving (ethical, cool) fashion is vain can eat my ass

anyway lmao now i have a p decent sense, atm at least, of what makes my body its most comfortable (even if that is v far from Comfortable at times). i love my tattoos, & i basically never rly want long hair again i’m p sure, & i love makeup, & if i could wear vans or blundstones every day for the entirety of my life at this point that would be incredible. those are easy things, & i try to allow my body, in its cultural place, to have access to them as much as possible, which is so important to me in a sense of having access to a physical space that matches my mental space of gender identity. politically sometimes i feel v v much a “woman” in terms of my lived experience, & i allow that of myself as well. sometimes when i write it’s important to me that my poetry be read as a queer person but also someone who is culturally coded as a woman, bc those are still always central concerns of my work—the trauma, the power there. but day to day i’m mostly happy spending my time obsessing over other things, like what to call this new genre of music halsey & lorde are making, or why my dog stevie is a Fanatic when it comes to ice cubes. ive come to enough terms w my gender, & my sexuality—& the expression thereof—that unless someone is talking abt gender, or someone asks me a question, it’s not smth that is constantly on my mind, which is. Nice. its so nice lol. 

also i would like to point out that i know my experience being non binary is rly rly white & western in so many ways & i get that. my cultural experience of non binary gender is also v much this like. ive felt frustrated before but never in my life have i felt scared to be non-binary while i was like out & abt in the world, bc i still pass as a cis white woman literally everywhere all the time (which has its pros & cons but like, still, a lot of privilege). so i do try to keep all of that in mind as well when i try to center myself & all that jazz

& who tf knows where all of that will take me. i feel like, bc ive learned to listen to my body & my brain so much better than i did when i was younger—even when they might hate themselves—i am so much better at filling up a space in the world that occupies smth healthy. which is not smth i take lightly, & i’m also so open to changes, as long as they feel good & beneficial & true. which is sort of new for me. who knows man ur mid twenties are a wild ride

Maya and her part!

**WARNING SUPER LONG IM SORRY**

Recently a fan tweeted Marlene asking if mayas storyline was over and she replied saying their may be a bit more to it. So I went back and tried to see what I could make out of the maya clues and how she fits into everything. 

I always love maya and emaya but her character always seemed a bit sketchy at times kinda like alison. (remember this)

when her and emily first meet she seems REALLY interested in getting to know emily, she was asking tons of personal questions about ali and herself, answering questions with a question, and she was being super friendly and almost choosy with her words, almost as if she had other intentions when she met her. What if she was told to get close to her? (Kind of like ezra & cece already knowing who all the girls were and jenna already knowing alison) 

In S1: “The jenna thing”, maya meets spencer and when her and emily go back to her house she says “I get your connection to spencer, you both like to win.” and emily replies “well winnings great but usually if I do my best im happy with the outcome.” and maya chooses to move the topic to spencer by asking how she feels about winning which always kind of stuck out to me. Emily tells her spencer HAS to win.

I just never quite understood why Maya only really asked questions about spencer, I know you could argue she was just trying to get to know emily but throughout the episodes maya’s in we don’t really see her interested in knowing about all the liars to me it seemed like she asked about spencer only because she reminded her the most of Ali.

& then maya moves the conversation to Alison again saying how she seemed like she was always the center of attention. Then tells emily she usually runs from those girls. Em says “you don’t look like the type of girl who runs from anyone” and Maya moves the convo to something else. (WHO U RUNNIN FROM MAYA)

Also later in the night when emily turns around maya immediately goes and cuddles with her almost like she KNOWS emily was in the closet. She said she had a boyfriend & i dont think it was something she just did in her sleep. + the A alerts afterwards were right on time, something was up. 

this also happens again when they kiss in the photo booth and A steals the strips right away. & maya tells emily not to worry about it that it there was probably just no more paper & drags her away. MAYA WAS IN ON IT THE WHOLE TIME. She was used to bring em out the closet and let A use it against her. 

Also in S2: “I must confess” Maya is scene wearing the exact same tory burch boots -A ordered online. (couldnt find a pic though)

But I think somewhere along the way maya started to really develop feelings and wanted out but A/AD or someone connected to them had stuff on maya forcing her to stay in it so she chooses to run away but A gets her first and kills her before she can get far.

Now lets go back to what I said earlier about her kind of acting like Alison

In the pilot maya asks emily if shes ever smoked and em replies No. Maya says this and the way she says it for some reason really just reminds me of something Ali would say. 

& then later in the episode Spencer sees who she thinks is Ali in Mayas room (ali’s old room) 

But what’s odd is that this person is wearing the same tank Maya was wearing the whole episode.

now this can be explained in a couple ways, either:

1. maya found a blonde wig while looking through the dilaurentis house and tried it on to pretend to be ali.

2. that was really or ali or maybe an ali twin and she was talking to maya & wearing a similiar top? (this one seems too much but wouldnt be surprised if the writers went this way.)

3.maya bought a blonde wig & was really trying to pretend to be someone maybe a trick she learned from a real blonde she knew who liked to wear wigs & be someone else.

       - i’m thinking its this last one! (or i hope it is)

In S2E12: “eye of the beholder” Jason tells em & spencer that maya found some of Ali’s old things in the attic, “Like they were hidden” he thought they threw everything away but maya kept some things, maybe b/c she knew what they were for.

Another thing I wanna point out is maya has mentioned on more than one occasion (1.02 & 1.12) that she has trouble sleeping. I mean I would have trouble sleeping too if I was worried my secrets may catch up to me.

Now I know there a lot of maya theories & some have even said they think she’s A. I don’t think I could really hop on board with maya being A but I do think when mona said “MAYA KNEW” she really meant maya fucking knew, like she knew the game & knew what was going on & just how dangerous A could really be. 

Okay so, we all know there seems to be a couple different teams when it comes to PLL and their alliances. Theres, 

AD & Cece (& maybe someone else? idk yet still looking into this)

Theres the Liars 

Then theres AD’s pawns (Jenna, Noel, Lucas, Shana, Alison (sometimes), Garrett, Mona etc.)

Well i think maya started off as one of these pawns but like all the people above at some point they wanted out and like I said above its likely so did she. 

It’s possible that maybe Ali and Maya knew eachother prior to her disapperance maybe they met on vacation… at cape may.

Could this mean this is Maya’s unnamed brother? Did she also hang out with Ali, Cece, & Melissa during that summer? Or was she scared of them like she mentioned to emily about attention seeking girls like Alison?

Now I heard from twitter it may be fake but still why would they make the mistake of putting it in the credits? Idk I just think it would be a nice twist for maya to have a deeper connection to Ali than just living in her house. 

UPDATE: MARLENE SAID WE’RE MEETING AN UNKNOWN RELATIVE OF MAYA’S! Some people meationed that reporter Aria went off on in 7.12 may be her brother but I couldn’t find a pic and I didn’t wanna sit through hulu commercials to find out so if someone finds the pic reblog it cause I wanna knowwww!

I mean we find out they had to have known each other either way or at least met before b/c they were both staying in the kahn cabin around the same time!

Also when Ali and Maya’s body are found the scene is so similar they even play the same song.

I think at first Alison gave Maya the idea to fake her death & Noel, Garrett, & Jenna helped her carry it out. 

Marlene also posted this pic on insta w/ 2 dolls that w/ the hashtag #emison but to me the 2 dolls look more like ali and maya then ali and em. Idk I just think there’s alot more to their relationship than we know right now. 

Now lets talk about the night mayas body was presumably found:

Maya trys to call emily but she cant get service so it never goes through, I don’t think this was maya b/c her phone was already stolen by this point. I think A just was trying to distract emily to mess with hanna.

Jumping ahead to when Mona falls off the cliff, we get a zoom in on her watch that says its 12am. The girls then go back to their houses and the cops have a body they think is Mayas.

BUT we later see this video of Maya at the kahn cabin at 1:14am

So are we just really gonna believe it took the liars OVER 1hr & 30m to get to thier houses?? B/c maya had to have got kidnapped and then dragged over to emilys back yard from the cabin and murdered. Which just in my head doesn’t add up with the timeline.

In addition to this I noticed when Maya gets pulled out of the cameras view it doesn’t necessarily mean she was captured by A, I think theres a good chance it was Ali who pulled on her to take her out of view and talk to her. We know Ali was staying there too so maybe she already knew where the cameras were and didnt wanna take any chances being seen seeing as this was before A supposedly knew Ali was alive. 

Now lets talk about after her “Death”:

We find out Maya went to the kahn parties often and met holden before, she was also friendly with Jenna, we see her get into a car with garrett the night she died (But we know he didnt kill her because he was arrested at 12am) & its when Nate (lyndon) is introduced and he is accused of being the one who killed Maya. 

Nate never openly says he killed Maya, in fact some of the things he says when he tries to kill paige kind of indicate he thinks emily has something to do with her death. 

He says “Im gonna do to you, what you did to me. Im gonna take someone from you & you are gonna watch me do it.” 

Its also been speculated that Maya was involved in the night em dug up Ali’s grave b/c they used her bottle of pills to drug her (which was also prescribed after she died) & flashbacks she remembers having + jenna lies to her saying she found her on the street drunk when spencer asks why she lied she says b/c she’s protecting a friend.

This was also one of the flashbacks she remembers having,

Most of me really does believe Maya did end up really dying sometime later before the end of season 3 or in the beginning of season 4 

The girls do find this carved into the dollhouse in S6 maybe AD found maya & took her to the doll house to be his Ali for a while before Mona got there.

But idk i’ve also read alot of theories w/ extra clues and reasons she could indeed still be alive helping out emily and hiding from AD or might even be bethany young herself. So theres that lol. I’m just excited to know that Maya still is relevant b/c her character had so much potential, hopefully mar doesn’t fuck it up!!

Thoughs and theories of BTS Blood, sweat & tears japanese MV

Long ass post coming! Okay, I felt like I have to do this now in the middle of school day because all these theories and thoughs are running in my head and theres no stop. I’m going crazy here! So yeah, just wanted to wrote some thoughts and theories which came to my mind watching the MV. At first it was amazing and mindblowing and what the actual hell is happening here, but at third time everything started to make sense, everything was connected. And the more I thought of it, my mind blowed even more. It felt kinda closure for the HYYH storyline and start for something new. Seriously, it kinda explained a lot what happens during Prologue, I Need U and Run and why everything is like this now. This is between I Need U and korean BST mv.

Also, the music video includes all first 9 tracks of Wings album. J-hope is dancing Boy meets evil. V is fallen angel in korean mv known also as Lucifer. He’s the boy who meets evil. He wanted Jin to beat the bad spirits out of him. (V has killed a man, is totally mess and is losing his mind). The part where he walked knife in his hand. You saw the wall, he has done that many times before. And then I remembered these lyrics in Stigma:

In the beginning Jimin is running away from Yoongi. Yoongi is again trying to protect Jimin..from the truth? The thruth that Jimin and Yoongi had some kinda a secred love affair and Yoongi kinda betrayed Jungkook because they had something going on too. In the part where “other” Jimin is running to room and Yoongi cover’s his eyes. I think the other one is Jimin who fallen for temptation and he regrets it a lot. He was eating apples from tree of knowledge.

We can also see brown Piano behind Yoongi from First love. There is piano also in the room where J-hope is. Yoongi and Jungkook are connected with piano in the past a lot. Ummh.. In the beginning of the video Jungkook is rising from the bed and there is pink wings in the sheets. I think that is symbol for leaving boyhood behind, he’s adult now. Also, it can be reference for sex and losing virginity (because BST is basicly song about temptations). How should I explain the next parts? Yoongi was Jungkook’s First love and he was so shocked to know he had betrayed him with Jimin. So Jungkook wanted to forget everything and Namjoon gave him.. poisoned absinthe?

And when Yoongi wanted to help him, Jungkook just pushed him away. I have also read the theory in which Namjoon told Jungkook that Yoongi burned himself in a fire and wanted to forget it all. So one option is that Jungkook is just having a hallucination of him. It can be also why they had I fight in run, this was the beginning of everything..

There is same corridor that was in Awake. Jin is looking the same painting that was in korean mv. He kinda saw to future (the statue, parts of korean mv) and there was past (references to Hyyh mv’s). Then all the shattering class.. Reflection? In the end they were all falling in to void.

The video had really strong vibes of Inception. All those different levels and alternative universes. Makes sense?

I’m sorry, this was such a mess and there still was only half. It’s hard to write these things in cronological order or to make any sense.  I’m so confused and shook that I can barely concentrate to anything else. I think from May to Four promo they were more solid than ever but then BS 2.0 and my headcannon is that something happened with Zourry then that just set everything since in train. The change in Harry is from then and idk what it was whether it was Zouis not trusting Azoffs and not wanting to follow their plans

tbh i dont agree with most of this. but it actually is really interesting and like, i dont think they were really broken up at that point like you, but i do think harry started to change at that point. i cant see them being broken up in 2013 purely for the reason that harry would always like, subtly allude to them as a couple, y’know (with the still the one stuff). and the triangle videos i know.. i think about that a lot but i dont think those are like an accurate representation idk, harrys always been like that really (doesnt mean its good!). thinking about it, like, i dont know if i agree, but the azoffs being bts for longer than we know makes sense. especially with his promo now, like, the haige stunt fits, y’know. the kdash ehhh i dont know. but the wanting harry solo in 2013 i absolutely absolutely agree. i dont even think its a question. most of the gp could him wanting to be solo, and he was doing a ton of solo writing and recording in 2013 too like. and then he said they should take a break in late 2014, right? obviously he had to think about that for a while so at least in early-mid 2014. its possible they were on a break idk but i know louis’ behavior was really really bothersome. thats why i think like.. harry changed around this time and louis got pissed i guess. so i guess they did take a break? but if anything i dont think they took a break until like late july-august 2014. but the crisis meetings i AGREE so much. like theres so much unexplained stuff about concerts and during tour and award shows like if hl were tense it literally can only be explained by them being a couple having issues, y’know. i agree with that. obviously i disagree with where you think they were the most solid.. i think thats where they were either broken up or leading to being. bs 2.0 kinda confuses me because i can totally see that causing issues, but then louis got the dagger like two weeks later so??? i think they broke up sometime in december i think. rip. but i do think zayn caused issues with them.. since the very beginning. harrys jealousy, zayn leaving and allegedly wanting to bring louis, etc etc. and yeah the last part about ??? i know. its because everythings behind the scenes and like no one truly knows. it makes me head hurt. thats why i find it easiest to like.. say harry led louis on in 2015.. because personally i can see him doing that because of his ‘new’ personality and like who he is surrounded by. but it also explains a lot imo. and the last sentence i TRULY KNOW. like. louis is much much much better off.. even with all the awful shit thats happened to him lately, hes still not SO stressed, you know what i mean? im happy for him and i just want the best for him. and the azoffs and harry can just have fun dreaming of what they could be i guess.

I'm new to bts, why is everyone always theorizing about stuff what is that about?

OMG !!!! lowkey, i’m pretty new too, but i’ve caught on by obsessing 25/8. also this got lengthy, so i put it under a read more.

okay, so basically, if you watch their music videos (in order) the last few have been connected story-wise (lyrics don’t matter in terms of concept/plot of the video). so you gotta watch the music video for “i need u” and then watch “prologue” and after that, “run” and you’ll see that it’s the same plot line continued through each video. but they don’t connect too obviously. its only obvious that its the same “story” but its unclear exactly what happens, since its music videos and theres a lot of symbolism and the videos seem to rely heavily on conceptual plot instead of linear plot. so then if you watch the video for “young forever” that one is also seemingly connected to the previous videos, but in a less obvious way (notice how jimin is the only one drenched in that video, which relates to “run” heavily). “young forever” relies very, very heavily on the symbolism and metaphors instead of a straightforward concrete plot line.

now, on to wings era.

so for wings era, there were 2-3 minute “short films” for each of the songs as trailers for the music; they all are connected somehow to the previous videos i mentioned. its not overly obvious, but you’ll still find connections to the other videos (jungkook hearing a car crash as he wakes up, a flash of a bathtub in jimin’s short film, etc.) and each short film is specifically for one member since they did solo songs for this album. again, lyrics are less important in terms of theories and plot lines. in the “i need u” video, theres an obvious connection between pairs (jungkook & suga, jimin & j-hope, v & rap monster, jin always oddly by himself) and that continues with these short films. you’ll notice the connections in each film between the pairs from the former music videos (jungkook heard a car crash, suga hears a car crash + whistling, etc.) because they make it pretty obvious. the only one left out of the pairs is jin, and he’s basically like the centerpiece of this entire thing. in all the music videos, he’s more or less watching the other members most of the time instead of participating (thats important). and then in the “blood, sweat, and tears” music video, after the bridge, theres a break in the music and they tell a story, sort of like an 8th “short film” and it lasts about a minute and a half. jin is, once again, at the center of this, but he’s also obviously connected to v somehow (you’ll know what i mean when you see it, knowing theres some kind of story being told). also, theres something symbolic that happens at the end of the music video, after the break ends and the music resumes. the “blood, sweat and tears” video might seem unconnected to the others, but trust me, it is definitely connected. this one just relies more on symbolism and abstract ideas instead of concrete plots to tell the story, just like how “young forever” was.

okay, so after all that’s done.

they also released a trailer for the wings trilogy tour, which connects with “blood, sweat and tears” (the same outfits, same props, etc.) and is once again very symbolic. it made everything very confusing again, but eh. we’ll figure it out.

and NOW theres gonna hopefully be some more trailers and music videos for the second part, you never walk alone. since it’s “wings: you never walk alone” it might end up being the album that wraps up the story and maybe makes it clear what the whole idea behind all the videos was.

So these are my final Stranger Things theories based on all the clues we've got so far.I should mention that this does definitely contain spoilers for season three (leaked picture from the set; episode titles; David Harbours spoiler without context; very sure that at least some of the following is true or close to the truth)Also, please don't stop reading at the beginning if it seams a bit tenuous. It'll get more clear if you read everything (I hope).​So first of all I'm fairly certain that the main themes of this season are going to be water and a "zombie" invasion. I base these hypotheses on:water:​Aforementioned leaked picture of Millie Bobby Brown at the beach looking very happy (https://i.redd.it/wmibj9gjkvo11.jpg).​Scoops "Ahoy" (As you may know the Duffers like to place clues in the seemingly most benign things i.e. Dungeons & Dragons predicting that the Demogorgon will get Will; Dragons Lair predicting that Lucas will end up with the princess (Max))​Some of the Morse Code clues in "Worlds Turned Upside Down" that the community decoded, namely: "A trip to China sounds nice" "if you tread lightly" whose connection was (of course not indisputably but pretty convincingly) shown by the user "u/Charlie780561" who reversed all the numbers of the pages the clues were found on and listed them in descending order (http://bit.ly/2QpY86F). That sounds a lot like theres going to be a creature from the Upside-Down in the pacific. There is also the Episode Title "The Case of the Missing Lifeguard" that also kind of hints at that.​And than of course there's David Harbours "spoiler without context" (http://bit.ly/2RSjE0P) which indicates that (and this is the best transition ever) there will definitely be something important with the water supply system (because why would it be a spoiler if it was only a benign detail) which might be an Upside-Down-infestation caused by whatever is in the pacific (and perhaps even more waters) that causes the previously mentioned "zombie invasion". (I hope David doesn't get in trouble for this...)​​"zombie invasion":​This post (http://bit.ly/2QtWD7J) of user "u/jeremyshelton" that talks about a movie from 1985(!) called "The Stuff" (trailer if you're interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE6Z1nBqLwo) tl;dr it's about a newly discovered mysterious but delicious substance that is marketed as an ice-cream-like product. Later in the movie, scientists find out that said substance is actually a sentient organism that slowly takes over the body of WHOMever(:P) consumes it until they finally become a zombie. Sound a bit like the possesion of Will Byers.​This season will be the grossest so far (http://bit.ly/2RU6HU4) and what's grosser than eating/drinking Upside-Down-infested ice-cream/water without knowing about it.​It's the logical conclusion for there to be more one possession. Just look at Seaon I and II: There was one demogorgon and one kid with powers in Season I and multiple Demodogs (Similar but less powerful) and two kids with powers. The possessions I'm theorizing about will probably also be less "powerful" than Wills. I mean there is a big difference between beeing in the Upside-Down for a whole week while dealing with an amateur face grabber PLUS having the full attention of the Mind Flayer and only drinking/eating infected water/ice-cream, right? (And even if it's going to be the same kind of possession, I guess you can count it as less "powerful" if it's just covered less in the story)​A lot of zombie movies were released in 1985 (although I don't know if that was normal at the time)​I'm pretty sure that there were more hints at a zombie invasion but I honestly can't think of any more.​​Also, for this to be everything I theorized about, I still have to mention the clues from WTUD arranged by "u/Charlie780561":​In the west, the week is long.The silver cat feeds, when blue and yellow meet. (blue and yellow has basically already been figured out as meaning the red and pink clockhands of the clock in Starcourt Mall (http://bit.ly/2QoRcHd). Not confirmed though but I don't think they'll confirm anything we theorize about)A trip to China sounds nice, if you tread lightly.​If you were to "tread" from the US to China over the pacific on the last day of the week you would cross the International Date Line, making the week shorter... in a way... And because the US is usually refered to as one of the western countries that would make the "week long(er) in the west".​Also also there's still the Upside-Down-virus-thing that escaped Will at the end of season II. As to that, I think that it might possess Billy, if at the time it's escaping he's still unconscious from the sedatives Max "gave" him.​Also also also I think that there will be a reveal/hint that the Upside Down is the future since "Back to the Future" was released in 1985 and this theory is already pretty established.​In conclusion, if you have any theories or clues you'd like to add, feel free to do so.
