LAUGHTER AND FEATHERS
Robinhill Fanfic I made in May
Word count:1756
Warnings: none, Pure fluff :)
Robin and Boothill were chilling on the benches of Penacomy, a spot that offered an amazing view of the surrounding landscape. The sun was just starting to set, casting a warm orange glow over everything. They had some downtime, and Boothill had a knack for filling silence with the most bizarre stories.
"So, then this fella—I'm not pullin' your leg—he tries to ride his horse right into a saloon," Boothill said, his eyes lighting up with mischief. "But here's the kicker—the horse stops dead at the door and ain't budgin' an inch. So, the fella starts arguin' with the horse! Full-on debate, like, 'You gotta go in there, there's free drinks!' and the horse just looks at him, all cool as a cucumber, like, 'Partner, I ain't steppin' foot in there.'"
Robin chuckled, finding the visual of a man debating a horse absurd. But Boothill wasn't done "So, the fella decides to get creative. He plops on a hat, thinkin' it'll make him look more respectable, like he's some sorta horse whisperer. But it's this ridiculous hat with a feather, like somethin' straight out of a children's tale!"
"Exactly!" Boothill replied, waving his hands for emphasis. "And he's wavin' it around like he's castin' a spell or somethin'. But the horse? The horse just looks at him, then at the feather, then back at him, and I swear to high heaven, it just turns around and moseys away. Like, 'Nope, ain't dealin' with this nonsense today.'"
Robin's laughter burst out of her like a wave, uncontrollable and infectious. She doubled over, clutching her stomach, and before she knew it, her legs gave out, and she was falling backward. Boothill leaped forward to catch her, but he couldn't help but join in on the laughter.
"Alright, alright, I reckon you've had enough," he said, tryin' to keep her upright while his own laughter rattled him to the core.
Robin finally regained her composure, still giggling. "I just... can't believe... the feathered hat," she said between breaths.
Boothill helped her back to her feet, a grin as wide as the prairie on his face. "I know, right? It's like, where do these folks even get such harebrained ideas?"

Hello, hello! I adore your portrayal of Jill! I wanted to ask you something, it you don't mind: what is your opinion on Clive and Jill's relationship? I often hear people find it imbalanced or that she's just there to comfort him. Personally, I see them as an equal support system but please, I'd love to hear your thoughts if possible! Have a wonderful day!
AWE. thank you so much, nonny! I'm going to be honest - No one is meant to be more important than Clive. All but Clive get sidelined so, Jill's role sadly does come off as the 'love interest' but I don't think that's a BAD thing - Jill IS her own character - but yes.. her main purpose is to support Clive, He supports her TOO but we don't get to see it as much because.... this is CLIVE'S story.
This isn't like a typical ff where party members get a lot of time to shine. I'm not sure how legit the source is but apparently the Devs really wanted to focus on CLIVE -
--- it is 'clive time' and everyone is there to support him in some way.
--- I don't think there is an 'imbalance' between them, they are VERY cute and I'm a sucker for 'childhood friends' romances - and slowburn ... which Jill/Clive totally is... the pinning is nice and I like that they didn't get together right away ... and then there is that ANGST. mmmf.
I do wish Jill had more to do outside of helping Clive deal with things. I wish that for a lot of the characters too.
Sometimes I completely forgot Torgal existed .... SOBS. but with that said - I don't think Jill/Clive deserves any sort of hate. It's not PERFECT but -- ya know.
they are cute! they are nice! some of their moments are stupid adorable!
The snow lilies scene was PRECIOUS.....
so yes.. I like them. I wouldn't say they are my SUPER DUPER VIDEO GAME OTP. ( that goes to 2b and 9s from Nier automata)
but I'd give them a solid 8/10

Okay but what if the reason/way bruce gets found out as batman is the way he handles his kids? Like- Bruce Wayne at a Gala, about to cut the ribbon or some shi when he casually reaches over and yanks Jason Todd-Wayne away from some old lady and pulls him to his side without even batting an eye, and similarly Batman tends to tug on Red Hood’s arm and force interactions- or Damian Wayne is about to throw hands with this snobby kid when Bruce Wayne walks past and snatches him up by the scruff of his shirt without even glancing down and carries the seething child away, very close to the way Batman will manhandle Robin away from goons or villains before the child breaks the no killing rule- Bruce Wayne seems to have the same exasperated fondness for Stephanie Brown-Wayne as Batman does for Spoiler, and the way Batman is only truly comfortable in a new environment is if Nightwing is there is very alike to how Bruce Wayne seems to relax more once his eldest child arrives. Not to mention how both of them seemingly don't flinch at all when randomly a girl drops from the ceiling and lands on their shoulders in very similar poses…
