I'm just learning not to give a shit anymore. Not to say I'm super confident or anything, I still have pretty bad anxiety and paranoia. Though I think just as you get older you kinda just stop giving a shit about most things. Also Meowth is my favorite pokemon, I love Meowth so much. I used to have a Meowth plushie that I slept with at night, but I gave it to a close friend who ended up moving away as a goodbye present.

ok quick team tour before the E4 because i'm way more attached to these guys than i thought i'd be. and by quick i mean this might be a long post sorry. i will go in order of acquisition of various team members :]

first up lovebug! named by my friend venty and also who i'd consider my starter :] butterfree's movepool isn't super wide and getting the twisted spoon or silver powder would be more trouble than it's worth at the moment, so aside from teaching Psychic with a TM, i left him with his level up moves and a quick claw for some speedy sleep powders. he has compoundeyes which makes sleep powder nearly 100% accurate and has been incredibly useful this entire run, especially with catching pokemon since sleep is so effective. i love him

next up QUIVER MY BELOVED... i saved her evolution for level 53 literally in the middle of victory road, was super satisfying. nidoqueen can only learn crunch as a nidorina, once she evolves she can't learn it anymore, and nidorina learns it at level 53 so i played the long game to get that one cool move. she has blackglasses to boost the power of it. earthquake is from a TM and i used her as my strength user during my playthrough, but it's a pretty useful move so i just kept it instead of going out of my way to remove it. and then after evolving her i used the move reminder after farming some tinymushrooms to get superpower to top off her moveset. very proud of her she's come so far from being a level 6 nidoran lol

say hello to TACO (BELL)... thanks for the shitpost name @ my qpp SDJFKDFS the miracle seed is from the celadon game corner! did you know weepinbell learns razor leaf at mfing level 42? and before that it only has vine whip for grass stab? it's awful. i waited that long to evolve him. i wanted to save some of my tms for the postgame so i decided to hold onto giga drain and solar beam and the like, decided to just keep razor leaf. i didn't wanna repeat niches by giving him sleep powder or something so i grinded even more tinymushrooms and taught him spit up and stockpile from the move reminder for the meme LOL who knows if i'll actually get use out of it. but i love taco he has been fun to use since i almost always have bulbasaur as my grass type

EGG!!!! he's named after my real life jolteon plushie with the same name. bite is exclusive to eevee at level 30 and since all dark moves are special in this game, it is actually useful on jolteon! i went pretty overboard on this guy because i love him. thunderbolt was a tm from the game corner, and uh... well... i found out he has hidden power water, with 70 base power, which while not the literal Best means he can hit ground types for super effective special damage at the maximum power possible for hidden power which is Based. UNFORTUNATELY hidden power can only be obtained through a 5% pickup drop in FRLG, so i caught a team of 6 meowths and spammed pickup until i got one lol. as for his held magnet item, that's exclusively obtained in FRLG by stealing off of wild magneton... a 5% chance. so i caught a level 31 meowth by bond bridge on two island, taught it thief, and used a repel trick with it to get all encounters to be magneton at the power plant... and just kept encountering until finally got the magnet 18 encounters in. pretty epic. nothing on his moveset is jolteon's natural moveset except thunder wave LOL and he has a pretty rare item for before the postgame

next up is creamsicle who is surprisingly one of my favorites despite being a pretty straightforward pokemon with a limited movepool. icy wind, ice beam, and rest, are all levelup moves, while surf is obviously an HM. mystic water is from the celadon game corner. all of the pokemon on my team are pokemon i've never brought to the endgame before, but dewgong is among the pokemon i've never used before in like... any capacity. so it's been really fun to use her! dewgong is underrated and very cute. but i understand why no one uses it, pretty out of the way in lategame seafoam islands

and last but not least here's torch! a pokemon i've DEFINITELY never used before as mt ember is optional before the postgame and i sometimes don't even take up bill's offer to go, much less linger on mt ember running around for a 5% encounter that late in the game post-blaine. BUT i wanted variety and this is certainly a fun choice after using ninetales a million times in my life. moveset is just levelup moveset except brick break which i taught by (thankfully renewable) TM, and the charcoal is from the game corner. he's the only mon caught in an ultra ball bc i could not be bothered oops... but the yellow matches! (btw he has a special attack IV of 0. LOOOL i still love him though)

and that's my weird ass leafgreen team where i boxed my starter and went out of my way to get pokemon i've not used before. i am at around 30 hours of gameplay and i'm going to fight the E4 shortlySDFKFSD

She took that plush with her into the pile as she joined Notch in the plush fort.

Friendly reminder to gently introduce your plushies into the pack gently. Start by diving them with a door and allowing eachother to smell, or if you have a glass door, see eachother. Make sure to be within the vicinity just in case anything happens, as not all plushies are as friendly as others. If the alpha senses a disturbance in the hierarchy of the pack they may become aggressive towards the new plushie, so make sure the alpha meets them first. Different plushies have different ways of showing respect or submission, if you need to translate for your alpha plush make sure to be there until they're accommodated.

Of course, if you have a plushie of a media, always have a buddy if you can. I recently received my Oliver Swift plushie and my already owned and adapted Randy Jade plushie accommodated him in the bathroom while we allowed Meowth (the alpha of the pack) to sniff him. Thankfully it was smoothe and Oliver was approved easily, but I know that's not always the case. Bowlingball (a blue creature plushie) had a bit of a rough time accommodating, often getting into fights with Jesus (my dog plushie). Luckily Meowth could calm the tide, but that goes to show how comparability is very important when deciding which plushies to adopt and where to place them (if you have multiples packs in one home.)

Another thing is when plushies are getting accommodated, allow them to sleep in the bed. A simple bonding method that is quite effective. If your new plushie has already bonded to another plushie like my Randy and Oliver, make sure to have their partner with them as well. Bonded plushies tend to have separation anxiety with their partner, so make sure to keep them together for long amounts of time. Of course, you must have one on one bonding but most of their time should be spent among other plushies. Plushies are long term companions and adoption is a life changing experience for the both of you, and all your plushies, so being careful and responsible when adopting does matter. Always be educated, wether it be at food, housing, likes, social habits, your plushies must me priority is a plushie parent.

My rooms- busy- kinda messy- but I like things crowded, lotsa posters of movies 'n shows I like- big plushies on the bed, big sharpedo, and driftloon plushie.

I've got like- a meowth tree for jerry that void helped me make, 'n the canine mon beds 'n the floor.

Oh also my desk- have a good big desk that I like to put my feet up on !!

You will, I hope, be delighted to learn that the bean has recently discovered Pokemon. And she LOVES IT.

Everything is Pokemon now. All butterflies are named Butterfree now. Her white lamb toy is Meowth (because it's white, it's okay that it doesn't have a tail or a sticker on its head). The decorations of cardinals at a local lights show? "Those red birds are like a red Pidgeotto!" Despite never enjoying Ritz Bitz before in her life, she now consumes them like a vacuum in a confetti factory because the multipacks of the minis have Pokemon on them now. So they are Pokemon snacks.

Her favorite Pokemon are Koffing and Butterfree. Butterfree makes sense to me, she's always loved butterflies, and it's one of the first ones you meet in the show, so it's seared into her brain as an archetypical example. But Koffing, huh? I ask her what she loves about Koffing, and she says, "Because he's a ball, and his mouth is always open so he's happy and smiling."

The pros of this obsession:

Christmas shopping for her just got super easy. I even found a plushy Koffing. She might actually pass out.

Reliving the original anime series with her, and it's way funnier and better than I remembered.

It is unbearably cute to hear this little chipmunk voice recapping episodes and doing her darndest to pronounce the difference between Tentacool and Tentacruel.

There's so many Pokemon and so much content out there she will be kept entertained for years, if she manages to get tired of repeating the same episodes (unlikely)

The cons:

Pokemon is generally intended for children a few years older than 3, so there's not a ton of small-children Pokemon merch that isn't infant onesies. Caveat: She is not only intellectually on the level of a 6 year old (according to her teachers and psychologist, I'm not just being braggy), she is also wearing 5-6 year old clothes, so the effects of this merch-dearth are somewhat mitigated

I happen to know the "Bye Bye Butterfree" episode would absolutely shatter her. Butterfree is a favorite; she pretends to be Butterfree at least once a day. The one where Ash temporarily traded it away was rough enough, and she required a LOT of reassurances after the episode that yes, Butterfree is back, and Ash said sorry. Letting Butterfree go? FOREVER?? I don't think she'd recover. However, she's also smart enough (and obsessed enough) to notice when Butterfree isn't there. We can't just skip it without an explanation. But if we explain what happened, she'll demand to see the episode and get fixated on it if she doesn't get the full context. It's the next episode, y'all. She saw the thumbnail with Butterfree already. WHAT DO

According to her, not enough airtime for Koffing.

But yeah, that's been the Big Thing lately. That and Christmas Lights. The only thing this kid loves more than Pokemon is Christmas Lights.

What's the oddest habit you've ever seen a pokemon have? For me, it was when my sister's Meowth was a kitten. He loved being tossed for some reason. I don't mean across the room, mind you, just gently tossed 2-3 feet onto her bed that has a massive plushie pile-

He always immediately ran back and jumped up on stuff to be picked up again! He's grown out of it by now, but the game of "yeet the cat" will always be an inside joke between me and her-

oooh, that's a fun question! we one time had a meowth come in who refused to eat unless you sat him down on a table and held his paw the whole time. he'd sit there and yowl by his food bowl unless you did this for him. we aren't sure what exactly caused this behavior- we guessed it was some sort of bizarre holdover from a weird nursing behavior- but he got adopted by a really wonderful family who were willing to spend some extra time making sure he ate.

Alright it's plushy time!

Here's a photo of all of them together! The only one not here is a little keychain bulbasaur on my bag. It's hard to see all of them well here so let's take a closer look for introductions!

From left to right: Adventurer Pepe, Ardenweald Pepe, IJsbeer (literally ice bear), Danny, Donna, Donny. Apart from Ardenweald Pepe these all stay next my pillow at all times. I've had IJsbeer and the ducklings since I was barely a toddler!

Pokemon, part 1. The Hitmonlee with a Ditto face is called Chimken, the rest just go by there Pokemon names. The Meowth is a little fingerpuppet! All my pokemon plushies are a mix of official merch, stuff found at my local comic store, and older plushies I've had for a while and don't remember the origin of.

Pokemon, part 2. The bigger guys! The big Bulbasaur is called Squimnch. The Rayquaza is the oldest official pokeplush I have. The Celesteela is by far the most expensive plush I have in price, and it's also my tallest! I fricking love her! The Tepig has a fun gimmick where you can turn him inside out so it becomes a pokeball.

The remaining fun stuff! Left to right, top: Raven King, Copia, Asmund the plague doctor, Monji the dust cloud, Mothi the mothman

Bottom: Jerry the skull, Maantje the moon, Augustus Gustavus the Third aka Gus the snail, Pukkel the pimple, Nyangko the cat, Brian the brain, Reddi the robin.

Raven, Asmund and Mothi are all squishables, Reddi has a little sound thing in it that activates by squeezing her but it's loud so I never do. Gus, Nyangko and Monji are all from South Korea! Gus I got at the Coex aquarium. He was so ugly I loved it. Nyangko is actually meant to be a little wrist support thing for when you use the computer but I didn't like that feeling. Monji is special. Celesteela may have cost me the most in price but Monji was only available at a pop-up store in a mall just outside of Seoul for a short time and I happened to be there at the right time! He is technically the official mascot of the group Monsta X but they haben't really done much with that for the past few years.

Anyway that's all of my plushies! I rotate so I'm cuddling a different one every night ^^

Hi there! I'm using pelipper mail to send you two of the plushies I bought underground-- well, more like pillows, really? They're based on gigantamax pokemon, so the meowth one is long and perfect for hugging, actually a really nice sleep aid, and the fat pikachu is just. Oh my god I love him. He is chonky and holdable. Anyways, I'm an adult too, and plushies help a lot, you know?

I think it's really wonderful that humanity has this primal urge, where our ancestors who painted caves thought "You know what would be fucking sick? What if I made a soft thing and it existed solely to be hugged. What if it was shaped like a little guy."

So....don't feel bad about it, okay? It's only natural to love plushies, and it doesn't have to be something you grow out of. Joy and whimsy are not mutually exclusive with adulthood and the mortifying ordeal of sending emails.
