Giving you a chance for a ramble, because I'm REALLY curious: What are all the Half life Pokémon trainers teams like? we've seen some from Gordon and Tommy, but I'm curious about everyone else's teams!

OH YEAHHH!!! Ok :) (these teams are all subject to change btw)

Gordon: Pokemon Researcher

The MC of his own story! Once a bright young boy with dreams of becoming a Pokemon master- but ended up as a researcher instead once those dreams seemed unlikely. That doesn't mean his team isn't strong, however! Even if he doesn't use them for battles often, they spend most of their time hauling samples from Ultra Wormholes and fighting off whatever tries to come out of them.

Team: Rhyperior, Copperajah, Mudsdale, Flygon, Crustle, and Aggron.

Benrey: Ultra Recon Squad Member?

A mysterious person who emerged with his partner, Poipole, from one of the Ultra Wormholes that had opened in the region. His life (and pokemon) are uncertain by those who know him, even his claim as a URS member lacks clear evidence. It's unclear if he has any known goal as people can barley get a read on him.

Team: Blacephalon, Xurkitree, Buzzwole, Nihilego, and Guzzlord.

Tommy: Pokemon Researcher/ Elite Four Member

New to the region's Elite Four, he is dedicated to having a fair and fun time with both of his jobs. His priority doesn't lie within his team's strength, but his high friendship with his Pokemon (which coincidentally benefits the former.) All of his pokemon are fast, dodge attacks well, can take a hit, and return with attacks critical in strength. It's a wonder he didn't end up the champion.

Team: Boltund, Raichu, Pawmot, Toxtricity, and Manectric.

Dr. Coomer: Pokemon Researcher/ Tournament Enthusiast

Like Gordon in his past, once wanting to be the champion, he somehow ended up in a comfortable position as a researcher instead. However, that didn't dissuade his love for a challenge, signing up for as many battle tournaments as he could in his free time. His team has shrunk over the years, but that doesn't mean they've lost their touch!

Team: Hitmonchan, Crabominable, Bewear, and Grapploct

Bubby: Pokemon Researcher/ Contest Enthusiast

Unlike his rowdy coworkers, his team isn't meant for battling (but that doesn't mean they haven't battled). He instead hopes to one day participate and win a pokemon contest, however the day where he hasn't chickened out from signing up hasn't happened yet.

Team: Espathra, Beheeyem, Salazzle, and Armarouge.

Darnold: Pokemon Medicinal Researcher

His job is to make potions that will eventually be sold to the public to help poor injured pokemon with low hp. However, the process of making such is much harder than one may think. His team is only really used for helping him with the task.

Team: Aromatisse, Weezing, and Dedenne.

Forzen: Pokemon Ranger

Secretly a softie, this tough as nails ranger spends most of his time helping people and pokemon alike. His team is on the smaller side but they are tough. He's got a strange rivalry with Benrey.

Team: Altaria, Exeggutor, and Garchomp.

G-Man: Ex- Champion/ Mysterious Businessman

It's unclear why he dropped his champion title- but those unfortunate enough to battle him still have to deal with his old team.

Team: Honchkrow, Spiritomb, Malamar, Froslass, Kingambit, and Absol.

What to do when you've been burnt by a fire type pokemon

A guide of things I wish I knew to do when I was younger, by a tired fire type trainer of 9 years.

Make sure you are out of harms way. If your pokemon did this to you, recall it immediately. There will be time to work on whatever mistake (either by person or pokemon) led to this later, you need to focus on yourself now. If a wild pokemon did this, you need to focus on getting the fuck out of there. Get your pokemon to use flash/roar and get somewhere safe (OUT OF TALL GRASS AT THE VERY LEAST)

Try to stay calm. Take deep breaths in and out while you follow the next few steps, panicking will only make the situation worse for everyone and lead to worse outcomes. I know it's not that simple to just, 'stay calm' but it is extremely important.

Identify what type of burn it is. This will determine your next course of action. Some general rules, if your burn is forming a blister, or is bigger than the size of a pokeball, you need to seek medical attention. Some pokemons fire is more dangerous than others. If you were burnt by a fire/ghost type, please seek immediate medical attention, as their burns are more likely to burn deeper and hurt more.

Go to a pokemon centre if you can. No matter what type of burn this is, it will always be helpful. Not only will they have bathrooms where you can wash out the burn, but the staff there are trained in basic first aid for humans too. However, if they try and direct you to a hospital, LISTEN TO THEM. People working at pokemon centres want you and your pokemon to be safe and healthy, they are on your side. Do not be antagonistic to them.

Call your local rangers. If you're not near a pokemon centre and have a severe burn, or cannot physically walk to one without making the pain worse, I need you to do something for me. Pick up your phone and call that towns/reigons pokemon ranger services. This is not the time to worry about burdening others, it is rangers jobs to help in situations like this. Stay on the phone with the ranger until they have found you. Once they have, ask them to take you to a hospital.

If the burn is minor, flush it out with cold running water for 10-20 minutes. Tap water is the best, but streams will do for anyone who was burnt while out in the forest. I don't care if the burn 'doesn't hurt anymore' keep it under there for the full 10 minutes AT LEAST. This flushes out heat from the burn. If your burn is on your face, a cold cloth can work instead of running water. DOING THIS ASAP AFTER GETTING BURNT CAN MITIGATE THE INJURY, SCARRING AND PAIN. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP.

DO NOT FLUSH OUT YOUR BURN WITH WATER TYPE/ICE TYPE MOVES FROM A POKEMON. This will not help at all and you will feel so much worse. Don't do this.

If the burn is not minor, GO TO A HOSPITAL. I do not care if you do not want to, I don't care how fine you feel, getting burns treated as soon as possible can impact how long it hurts for, and how long it heals. Don't be an asshole to yourself and just go to hospital.

Monitor your pain levels in the days following. It is normal for burns to be painful for a while afterwards, but if it is causing you significant distress, you need to talk to your/a doctor about this, and possibly getting better medication to help with this.

Do not put yourself in the same situation again. Now you're all healed up from your burn wounds, maybe you even got a cool scar. But reflect on what happened, and why, and learn from your mistakes. Please.

INTRODUCTION POST

Hey, the names Henry.

To be honest I didn’t actually plan on making this blog, just something I was musing over, but here we are. This is mostly just smth to keep me occupied during the long days.

I very recently got assigned to this lodge, I’m not telling you the region just know it’s near a town called Pineridge since I know damn well there is at least three or more places with that name.

I’m the only one in this lodge though, it’s not meant to house more than maybe two rangers since its not a ranger station, it mostly operates as a firewatch location during the summer anyways. That doesn’t matter though.

I’ll probably just talk about the stuff I see on the job here, plenty of Pokemon here in the forest and with the town nearby there is also probably plenty of campers and rowdy teens. Maybe I’ll share some nature photos or trail cam footage or something.

Lastly, I do have a partner Pokemon, his name is Tucker and he’s my Boltund. Real tough guy, that one.

Do you have any tips or advice for a relatively new ranger? I recently completed training but I don't have much experience yet.

oh man, congrats! that's so exciting!! also a little scary haha

my first tip is get to know the people in the area you're working in! artazon is on the smaller side, so i know a lot of the residents in my part of town; if you're stationed somewhere more populated, i'd get to know your local pokemon center staff and some of the local business owners. these people are such a lifeline in the work you're going to do, and being on good terms with them can make tough jobs so much easier

second tip- use the resources they give you! practice with your styler in the MTAT, even if you're just practicing on bidoof! bring your styler to the techs sooner rather than later! be good to your operators and listen to your seniors and tag along on any case they let you! you'll feel so much more comfortable when you get your first solo case if you've been taking the time to be prepared.

my last tip- you know those hand-wrist-arm stretches they teach you? do them. you will regret it if you don't, believe me.

I'm Tannuki (they/he), a ranger in training! I'm from Santalune City in the Kalos region, studying at a local ranger school. I spend a lot of time in Santalune Forest and my end goal is to be a ranger in pokemon village!

Here I talk about daily life with my team and any other fun things that might happen with my friends, in training, or at my PC assistant job!

Pictured above are all my pokemon! I specialize in fairy and grass types but I'll take in anyone I form a bond with <3 Here's a bit about my guys!

chespin- my main pokemon and starter <3 it holds an everstone because it likes to be a little guy with attitude

sylveon- my second main pokemon, I raised it as an eevee from an egg and it later evolved into a sylveon

clefairy, charjabug, and furret- besides my main two, these are some of the first pokemon I caught and we are now all very close. Clefairy is shiny, charjabug has a grass tera type, and furret is just a cuddly tube :3

appletun and drampa- these two are my childhood pokemon, appletun is an old family pet we also call "buddy", and drampa used to visit me on lonely nights as a kid. Now they're both on my team

dewpider- this guy is less on my team and more just a house pet, it chills in its enclosure in my room :))

espurr, hattrem, and politoed- three more mons I've caught over time, they all have a special place in the team <3 espurr has also been nicknamed "autism" (I am autistic)

angry snail??- it isn't on my team but I see him around the forest all the time. I can't find much information on it and wonder if it might be some kind of poke-cryptid. Either way, it's fun to have around and I think he likes me >:)

My best friend has a hisuian growlithe named Chowder and I'm over there a lot so you'll probably hear about him too!!

I'm lucky to have traveled around a lot with my parents and seen and experienced many things in the pokemon world! Aside from pokemon and nature, some other things I enjoy are cryptids and local legends, witchcraft, art, Sailor Audino, and Hatsune Miku! I'm excited to share my life with my pokemon here and hope to meet tons of people and make lots of friends!

What do you Think Looker and Anabel would bond over besides Interpol and Faller stuff?

Canonically they bond over food and regional restaurants of the places they visit. That may qualify into having an appreciation for cultural iconography like tourist type activities and what they would do if they actually got to properly visit the country they're in outside of a job.

While they don't have the same mindset, I can see them bonding over battles with how different they are from each other. Looker likes learning about Anabel's love for competitive play and Anabel appreciates how Looker fights with Croagunk in a completely different style, typical of Rangers and based on the battle environment.

Both seem to be pretty knowledgeable of their partner Pokemon. Looker knows Croagunk well enough as a species to really truly work with his partner, and Anabel really appreciates that about him. Looker also likes to listen to her own Pokemon general knowledge and can participate in the conversation with his own experiences regarding missions.

Maybe they have a shared appreciation for fine art and sightseeing landmarks and historic locations on the quieter side. But maybe they just enjoy each other's company by the end of the day and enjoy how different they are from one another. Maybe it's more often than not that they learned that they liked something through each other.

In pokemon ranger guardian signs when you learn their respective signs you're able to summon and ride on raikou, suicune and entei (raikou can jump great distances, suicune can run on water and entei is able to destroy massive boulders in its way) so I'm thinking... Adaman, Laventon and Cyllene meeting and falling for a reader who just rides around hisui on their legendary pokemon buddy and helps out wild pokemon who need it?

Adaman:

Adaman thinks you're a gift from above. He doesn't know the Pokémon you ride, but he can tell it's powerful. It walks with a heavy step, and its entire body rumbles with contained thunder. Adaman stares as you walk through the settlement, alongside everyone else, in awe of your majesty. Have you been sent by the Mighty Sinnoh to bless them with your time?

Raikou, you call the beast. It comes to you whenever you call, gallops across Hisui, leaping incredible distances. Adaman peppers you with questions about your steed whenever you come up riding Raikou, just to distract himself from how majestic and divine you look. Is he blushing? It’s the heat!

Adaman knows Raikou holds the key to winning your favor. He makes treats, indulges the beast in staticky pets, and becomes a preferred snoozing spot for Raikou. You laugh, seeing the giant feline laid across Adaman, his Leadeon so jealous. Still, despite the embarrassment, Adaman revels in the soft, warm look in your eyes as Raikou purrs, even if it’s because his hair is standing on end

Laventon:

Laventon first sees you at the Coastlands. You come in from the sea, atop a gorgeous Pokémon gracefully walking atop the waves. He’s smitten almost immediately, reminded of childhood tales of beautiful people sending sailors to their death. You could leave him right into the water, mounted on your stead

Suicune, you call it. A gentle beast of great power, but Laventon finds you are far more gentle. Your hands guide his, pressing them to Suicune where it likes to be stroked. Your voice is warm as you explain your story to the enraptured professor, and you listen to him theorize with a fond smile. Laventon finds himself dreaming of you before long, you and your beautiful smile

Should you ever bless Laventon with a ride upon Suicune, he is mystified. He clings to your back, watching his reflection and yours in the water's surface, disturbed only by Suicune's gentle steps. The faster you go, the more the water sprays up at you both, and Laventon can only laugh, in awe. He loves his job, and you, quite a bit

Cyllene:

Cyllene first encounters you when she’s still in the Security Corp. While escorting some members of the Supply Corp, there’s a loud explosion. She whips around, and sees you atop your molten stead, sliding down the side of the mountain with rubble rolling around you. You approach her team, nod, then run off into the distance. Instantly, Cyllene is intrigued, and wants to know more

She sees you far more as time passes. You come, with your Pokémon ride Entei behind you, and greet her out on missions. You show her Entei, let her pat the Pokémon’s warm fur, and always disappear as quickly as you appear. Cyllene finds herself thinking of you often, wondering about you, about Entei, about where you go when you’re not around. You occupy so much of her mind that she’s nearly losing sleep

The closer you grow, the easier it becomes. You stay with Cyllene in her office, having peaceful chats or simply basking in one another’s presence. Entei lies on the floor before her desk, intimidating the newbies quite nicely. Cyllene can only be seen smiling when you are with her, and when the new Corp members are squirming beneath her and Entei’s stare

Alright!

So, as many of you are aware, there has been an ecological anomaly that has resulted in Pokemon forms native to the past starting to reemerge.

These Pokemon have been placed in strange, unknown environments, and as such, many of them are very aggressive, making them dangerous as a result.

My professors at RotoU (a completely online college which I am enrolled in) have gotten in contact with other universities and organizations to put together the Renewal Acclimation Department, which will accept volunteers from all across the globe in order to work towards assisting the returning species to an unfamiliar world, as well as keeping the population safe.

They are, in fact, aware that it spells "RAD" and, to be fair, it really is.

In addition for any universities that take part in the Renewal Project (the whole goal I mentioned above), they will be counting volunteering with RAD as an acceptable amount of credits for your current degree path.

There are going to be two main roles given to volunteers, chosen by the volunteer when they sign up.

The first is Preservation and Acclimation, which is going to work on the more ecological side of the project. This includes transporting Pokemon to their home environments if displaced, preventing disputes between past and present Pokemon communities, etc.

The second role is Protection and Defense. This role is aimed towards the safety of both the modern population and the returning Pokemon. There have been a few reports already of Alpha Pokemon attacks, not to mention damages caused by others. In addition, however, there have already been concerns about illegal poaching of these past Pokemon, as there is little way to track the populations at this point. Those in this role will assist in protecting others from rampaging Pokemon, alongside protecting the returning Pokemon from unnecessary harm.

Volunteers are allowed to select one or both roles, but will be assigned one job at a time. I myself will be volunteering for both roles. A Teleport relay has been coordinated between numerous regions, allowing volunteers to travel between regions at a moment's notice if needed. Emergency Assistance visas are automatically procured for volunteers.

We will be working closely with both local law enforcement and Rangers to ensure the safely and ethical treatment of both humans and Pokemon during our projects.

Hello hello!

My name is Vesper, and I’m a former Pokémon Ranger, but more importantly, I’m the founder of the Unova Pokémon Rescue! My pronouns are She/They, and I’m originally from Orre, though I’ve also lived in Almia (where I was a Ranger) and Unova, and I spend plenty of time traveling to other regions!

What’s the Unova Pokémon Rescue?

It’s an organization I founded years back. After a pretty nasty injury during my Ranger days, I retired from my job as a Ranger and founded the Pokémon Rescue shortly after moving to Unova! I came across a Deino that had been neglected and abandoned, who I helped raise into a happy and healthy Hydreigon. Inspired by that little guy, I opened the rescue to help rehabilitate abandoned, abused, or neglected Pokémon in need of help. I work with tons of organizations across the globe, and we help Pokémon either recover enough to return to the wild, or, for Pokémon unfit for the wild, help them find loving Trainers!

My Team:

Nibbles: Hydreigon, male. The little guy that started it all, this is the Deino I rescued who inspired me to open the Rescue! Destroyer of many a chew toy, but an absolute sweetheart. Still bites me (affectionately). Second biggest troublemaker of my Pokémon, mainly because he’s spoiled rotten.

Dust Devil (Dusty): Garchomp, male. My first Pokémon, I’ve had this guy since he was a Gible! He was my partner Pokémon during my Ranger days, and now that I’ve retired, he’s my partner around the rescue! He has a nasty scar on his leg from the same incident that made me have to retire, but is still as lively as ever. He’s very protective. 

Zipzap (Zippy): Galvantula, male. Formerly a Pokémon I was looking after as a foster when we rescued him. We found him as a Joltik in the Driftveil Cold Storage, with no clue how he ended up there. Deemed unfit to survive in the wild due to poor immune system and frequent illness, so I ended up keeping him! Climbs on everything in my apartment. Biggest troublemaker of the bunch.

Duchess Wisteria Stringbean (Duchess/Stringbean): Serperior, female. Rescued from an illegal breeding operation in Sinnoh. Sassy, stubborn, and full of herself– but a genuine sweetie if you give her attention. Very helpful with the younger Pokémon at the rescue.

Marshmallow: Tyranitar, female. Does lots of the heavy lifting around the rescue. I rescued her after she was abandoned by a Trainer who very clearly wasn’t prepared for how difficult Tyranitars are to care for once they evolve. Likes to act tough but is actually a big softie. 

Lysander (Sometimes called “Beeps”): Decidueye, male. A rescue Pokémon that we took in from a sister organization in Alola. Was horribly mistreated by his previous Trainer, and as such is rather jumpy and wary of strangers. Also easily startled by basically any loud noises. Likes to stare at me from across the Rescue and watch me work. Makes “beep” noises sometimes to get my attention.

Your Starter Pokemon Have Evolved!

Introducing the evolutions to the starters for Pokemon Shores and Stars!

First is Budsky's evolutions! Budsky evolves into Bloomsky and then into Guardanine, who becomes a Grass/Fairy Type!

Bloomsky are positive Pokemon who are always happy to help others, no matter what it may be. Due to their hardworking natures, they are often tasked with jobs, which they will always accept no matter how dangerous it may be. Its fluffy coat thickens depending on the weather, which in turn allows Bloomsky to work hard in almost any environment.

Guardanine are known for being top Pokemon to hire for rescuers and rangers due to their strong personalities and desire to help others. Its thick, fluffy tails emit natural scents which can calm down those around it, so it is also a good Pokemon for those suffering from anxiety or have bad thoughts often. If it sees someone threatening those it cares about, it won’t hesitate to throw blasts of pollen at them.

Next, Calfire evolves into Belava and then into Orcano, who becomes a Fire/Psychic Type!

Upon evolving, Belava undergo a personality shift, becoming more egotistical than when it was a Calfire. Most of the evolution energy went to Belava’s head, resulting in a giant mass building up with lavalike veins. It is thought that the larger the mass on Belava’s head is, the more intelligent one is.

Having made peace with itself and knowing there is more to life than just intelligence, Orcano travels the lands in order to spread its knowledge with others. The smoke that pours from its blowhole is what allows it to float above land, and it is thought inhaling the smoke will give you an intense amount of knowledge about yourself and everyone around. During battle, Orcano blasts globs of lava from its blowhole, and the flame on its tail burns even more intensely.

Finally, Kiddle evolves into Goatide and then into Swashgoatler, who becomes a Water/Dark Type!

Goatide keep their adventurous personalities from when they were Kiddle, but their recklessness has upped somewhat. They will rashly leap into anything without thinking of a plan beforehand. Because of this, it is thought that training a Goatide can be a challenge unless you form a trusting bond with it, as Goatide will listen to those who it cares about.

Swashgoatler fully embrace their adventurous personalities which have flipped into them developing a thieving side to them. They use cheap tactics during fights to raid opponents of their loot, making off with them when they least expect it. It can unsheath its hidden claws in its hooves to strike, as well as using its sharp cutlass tail to cut foes. Despite its thieving natures, it has a kind heart, and usually the only reason why it steals is to give presents to friends and family.

The Pokemon Ranger au!!! For some cutes for you. The first batch of eggs from the initial event are on like year long work placements with Pokemon Ranger School, and get assigned to various bases around the region. The younger eggs are younger kids, not yet old enough for ranger school. The player characters are, like, the established rangers, or run businesses, or whatever. Ramon wants to be a scientist, so is placed with Pac and Mike at HQ, and how Pac and Fit get to know each other better than just in passing. Or, well, Fit heading back to get kit repaired or have upgrades explained and all that. Fit is technically speaking one of the Top Rangers, but generally works in the unshowy and difficult jobs - he doesn't calm legendaries attacking cities or look after abandoned mareep, he's knee deep in sand and mud trying to apply healing potions to grumpy hippopotas in the middle of the fucking desert in a sandstorm for no reason other than it's their job to help. Or dragging a very stubborn onix who is maybe eating a coal mine to a cave humans don't need to be using. That sort of stuff. Fit lost his arm to a Pokemon he was trying to wrangle. Absolutely doesn't blame the gyrados, it was him who fucked up and he knows it. Pac, however, lost his leg while he was still training, having been practicing Pokemon commands with his classmate Cellbit and Cellbit's Pokemon disobeying badly. They're still friends, but it was shaky for a bit, and it's what had Mike divert into science, with Pac following a bit after.

Pokemon rangers do have partner pokemon who stick with them (and in this case they have multiple who chill at home when not with them), but most of the pokemon a ranger interact with they only keep temporarily to help them with a specific task, then let them go back to the wild. They are mostly park ranger? Dealing with ecological problems (and occasionally ecological crimes), but also wildlife rehabilitation. They also have a big comms network because this is the Pokemon world and like. Dealing with ecological disasters where Pokemon and sometimes legendaries are involved is almost superhero level bullshit (*looks at ruby and sapphire - pokemon rangers are who have to clean up if they'd actually started flooding everything*)

In the au sometimes Pokemon with more serious injuries are bought back and treated and there's the equivalent of a sealife sanctuary but for pokemon - heal and rerelease those who can be released, otherwise look after them if the injuries mean surviving in the wild wouldn't work. That's where Dapper is studying! Though, given his dad is the head of the project, that would happen.

Chayanne is placed under Philza, a former top ranger who was occassionally involved in the showy side of it, but stepped down after a nasty injury to lead a local branch. Chayanne and Tallulah are kids of single parent Missa, who is a fisherman. Chayanne's extra partner Pokemon stay with Missa and Tallulah when not needed. Chayanne is also trying to get his mentor and his dad together.

Um other bits... Foolish is a marine specialist! Not all of the rangers have diving training, and Foolish is especially good at it. (Chayanne actually wanted to do the marine specialist stuff, but Leo beat him to it. And won by being his kid).

Mostly its just an excuse for everyone to have cute fun times and sure there's some horrifying, but... it's pokemon ecological conservation hours my dude! Bobby is super passionate about the 'gross' pokemon being important and he's *correct*. Natural balance and all that.

Heavenly

Deep within the White Forest, a familiar shiny dusknoir was floating, slowly keeping out of view of any potential humans or pokemon that were clearly trying to catch her. It had been nothing but trees for the last few days. This was a blessing and a curse; it prevented the authorities from finding her, but also there was an utter lack of landmarks to leave or trace her steps.

Until she saw a cobalt blue light radiating from her left. Initially, she assumed the worst. It had to be some ranger group. Instead it was some kind of other worldly mineral.

As she approached, the details of the mineral came into focus. Despite clearly having weight, the construct as a consistency of liquid, causing light to shimmer off. 

Inside the construct was a jirachi, far lumpier in the skull than others, having circular folds on the side and red crescent moon tastels.

Eyes opened from the mysterious creature. It was clearly mouthing something that Dela could not hear. The mysterious material had a sound dampening effect.

As if it was on command, the construct lost its mass, seeping into the ground without a trace of moisture.

Once the jirachi’s head was free of the container, the dusknoir could finally hear what it was saying.

Words were not spoken, but sounds were escaping the alien being. Vague facsimile of words, but it was obvious they enabled something if it enabled the mystic mon to exit the strange rock.

As the mystic finally fell silent, it finally landed on the ground with grace. Upon doing so, it opened its eyes, giving full attention to their watcher.

“Ah. A dusknoir. Perfect. A former human at that. Even better.” A very terse, blunt voice came from this entity.

There were several thoughts that were rapid firing in Dela’s mind. What did it matter that she was a dusknoir? How did they know that she was a former human? What was that alien language?

“Sorry. I should explain myself. My name is Apolly. Paradox Archivist under the command of Third Asura-Banya.”

Questions were not going to be stopping soon. That was way too many proper nouns that would likely lead down more bunnery holes.

Good for everyone involved, Apolly also seemed to realize this. “I work for a god to track and notates changes in the universe. Anomalies and sudden changes.”

Now the herald was speaking the dusknoirs language, she was nodding head in understanding. “I get it! So you track down paradoxes and continuity between different universes,” while she was a human, Dela had been writing a thesis on this very topic. If she were still an academic, she would have fainted. “I have so many questions.”

This made the jirachi feel bad. This was a lot to throw at a non-cosmic being. “I know this is a lot but-”

“That means paradoxes are a factor of the universe and are some kind of phenomenon that can be tracked and archived like the weather! This can lead to many other theories! I can potentially solve the God-Head Paradox, solve Atolmos’ inquiry on hypertime and even get several theories thrown out!”

Surprise. Pleasant surprise. That was the emotion that was going through the jirachi’s head. First mortal met since making contact and she was smarter than initially thought. A toothy smile came across the mystic’s face.

“Well you are a pleasant surprise! Someone who is not going to be confused,” the terse talking seemed to break. “If you do not mind, can you be my guide? It will make my job far more lively.”

Floating and talking it was then. This would at least be an interesting partnership.

Hi, can I ask 2 questions about the tagged pokemon thing? I don't really know a lot about the conservation and research field.

1. What is the best way to tell if a pokemon is tagged beforehand?

2. What should you do if a tagged pokemon starts following you? Asking because that is how I got my vulpix and I figure it must happen sometimes.

Yes! i love when people ask questions, it's always better to be informed. Plus i suppose answering questions IS a part of my job as a professor :)

So, on smaller pokemon, we try to use Collar GPS tags when possible. It's the least invasive sort of tag and the easiest for humans to spot as well! These are usually Black, White, or Orange depending on what we feel will be most visible (or honestly what we have sometimes, funding isn't always the best.) Here's a stantler that we caught on a trail cam just outside the city:

For Bigger where collars arent really possible pokemon we Usually do ear or spike tags, these pierce all the way through and are secured on either side, Brokehorn has one of these in his ear, though it was obscured in the photo. they work like this :

They're usually paired with regular plastic tags to make them more visible but we know that's not always enough, wich is why it's only illegal to not immediately release a tagged pokemon rather than to catch one in the first place.

Tiny pokemon who can't wear the collars is where it's harder to finagle. We basically just tape them on with brightly colored, pokemon safe tape, and usually mark another spot with the tape as well. These types of tags need changed more often though so it is a pain (and you loose more of them...)

For your second question! If a Tagged pokemon starts following you, report it to a local ranger! Theres a good chance that if the pokemon is deemed too human socialized it'll be removed from the tag program, and possibly pulled from the wild if it seems like it could be a threat to people. If this happens anf you're interested in them as a partner, talk to a local ranger and they should be able to guide your next steps.

How common are rangers having a partner pokemon thats shiny?

Well most rangers aren't going around finding the perfect partner, a lot of them had pokemon going into the field, with a couple getting trained along side them.

Some, like myself, find their partner while in the field.

Some Rangers can have shiny partners, but our job is to not leave a huge impact on the wild, so we aren't going out to find a shiny partner.

I can't give an exact number, but there are rangers of all ranks that have shiny partners but it's not a huge number that do.

Its not like we don't see shiny pokemon often, in fact I see several just about every day because I need to check most major environments for any abnormalities or changes.

We tend tk just let them be, just because they are rare doesn't mean they need to be captured.

Skip, my Porygon, is my only shiny and I didn't intend on capturing him, but he was having some serious stability issues and he wouldn't have been able to continue on his own.

I took him in and helped find drivers to keep him stead, and he just never wanted to leave, so he sticks around and helps me so much with communication, and even some unique skills thanks to @alexanders-pokemon-adventure

To answer your question simply, it's not too often, but it's not a major issue, as seeing Shiny Pokemon isn't a big deal to us, sometimes we even need to warn people of certain pokemon like that.

I remember back when we had to put up signs to warn people of a Shiny Metagross in the mountains for a time, thankfully that's over!
