Watsonian: again, she is blamed, sexistly, for the Dance even though it was the greens who usurped her, etc....the council that convened after the Dance were full of men who didn't learn the real lesson and decided, esp after Baela's actions, to not place a woman on the throne bc "it causes too much trouble"...so the name itself is probably "cursed" in the sens that no Targ wanted to bring disfavor to themselves like how Aerion named one of his kids "Maegor"

But more importantly, he was writing the book in dedication to first Robert, then Joffrey, and then Tommen and to the new Lannister-Baratheon alliance/dynasty that replaced the past Targaryen one, which had ended with a mad man but for the most part had non-mad people. The book really capitalizes on the Targaryens' boldness and possible link to power and mystery to paint the Baratheon-Lannisters as the best for Westeros, as the most righteous set of people to rule...(*cough, cough).

Dilek....

Dilek came to me to learn together for our next exam. And wow, this time we actually managed to open our books to study. But we also talked about our "new-old" jobs/department change.

Dilek started today in a state hospital in the office. At least it wasn’t a mental hospital, where I spent the last 9 months. And my new office? I moved to urban architecture. Urban archaeology at the beginning and now urban architecture! Why did they always put me in such special offices? This has nothing to do with a social worker’s job! 😫But well, they want us students to get to know different departments in the first 3 years, even if this has nothing to do with our final job choice/ decision at the end of our training. In year three, we have to decide which area we want to continue. I will opt for the social, health sector and Dilek will choose state & federal laws. And as I mentioned once, Dilek is a German diplomat today! 😮🤦‍♀️Maybe I should have done the same?🤷‍♀️🧐

But I don’t think that would have been the right way for me. Dilek lives abroad and works in a German embassy, in Turkey. They have transferred her there. Bcs Dilek is originally from Turkey. Her parents! However, Dilek agreed. Her life has changed in recent years. She was unhappy and thought that emigration was just right. She wanted to get away from her Dad. This man is a tyrant! He wanted to determine Dilek’s life. He had even planned to marry her to and old friend! 😠 Yea, such an ass, sorry. But Dilek is not like her sister or her brother who make her father all right. She has her own wishes and ideas about her life! She decided not to dance to his tune. Unfortunately Dilek no longer has contact with her family. Not really! Still, she became very sad and unhappy. She loves her Sister & her Mom. Dilek sees her sister from time to time. Her sister is married, so she can visit her, without having to meet her Dad. Her Mom only meets her secretly. So sad!... Dilek is generally lonely, she told me. She feels alone. She has no family, no friends and sometimes she actually thinks about reconciling with her Dad.

Dilek wishes for a family, her own family, but yea, it's not that easy. That’s what Dilek is doing today, 8 years later. She is almost 30 years old, still young, but she feels old and lonely. And that day in my story, when we were studying together, Dilek told me about the probs with her Dad. She was looking for an apartment to get away from there. Besides, she was in love with a guy she was recently dating. She told me, her Dad was against this boy. He forbade Dilek to see him again. Hello! She's 21, almost 22 years old!😠 .... I thought Dilek’s Dad was like my Dad at first? But no, my Dad isn't like that!!

My Dad would never force me to marry someone I don’t know or keep me away from my Sister and Mom. Though.... he kicked me out last year, but this was a completely different story/situation. What we else did that day, you'll see soon.

Anyway, I just saw your "Child of Amphitrite" post and I wanted to introduce you to my own "Child of Amphitrite" OC <3

Name: Ophelia Alexandra.

Father: Doesn't deserve a name Diabolos Alexandra

Mother: Amphitrite, Queen of the Seas

Backstory: Ophelia Alexandra grew up to an obsessive father who only ever wanted to bring back her mother. He and Amphitrite had met when he was stranded at sea, a particularly nasty set of circumstances bringing him from a enjoying a normal fishing trip to literally near starving. Amphitrite noticed the lost sailor and decided that he would be a nice hook-up for her before sending him off back to land and so they had their one night stand. Only, Amphitrite was pregnant, which she never intended to become and only had one demigod child before this, and so she decided to leave little Ophelia with her father, not thinking much of it since she'd seen he was a good man during their encounter--being more annoyed at the general circumstances than anyone in particular during his stranding--and knew it'd be better for her half-nereid daughter to chose whether or not she wants to live her mortal life in the oceans or up on land. Unfortunately, Amphitrite never expected how parenthood would change the man nor how different he would become after their encounter.

And so Ophelia lived with her father right beside her in their little boat and shop but never truly knew who Diabolos Alexandra was. Even his friends stopped coming by their little shop, creeped out by how obsessive he was become in his search to find her mother again. He's even tried stranding himself with--and without--Ophelia multiple times in hopes to maybe lure Amphitrite back. Amphitrite never answered him, having not usually checked up on past flings and being busy as the Queen of the Seas. She did check up on Ophelia, though, and usually around her birthday when she gave her daughter up to Ophelia's father.

Unfortunately, that was the day Diabolos finally snapped and tried to sacrifice his own daughter, thinking that Amphitrite's rage will finally bring her back to him or that the goddess will be pleased at his brutality, mirroring that of the Ocean's. But Ophelia herself was having none of that. She was nearing 12 at the time and, honestly, being around the water all the time was making her sick, the lake was giving her the creeps, and she was starting to get lonely. So as soon as Diabolos grabbed his daughter and threw her overboard, pushing her face down and down, she grabbed his arm, kicked the boat, and threw him overboard with her. I won't go into details... but let's just say the dude died and the nymphs were both horrified and also really impressed because hell yeah dude!

Amphitrite was disgusted by Diabolos's behavior and made quick work of getting Ophelia and all her five things to the United States and to the Jackson Family Apartment, where her step-brother and step-sister lived (in this world, Percy has an older sister about 3-4 years older him and is 15 in the Lightning Thief. She, Penelope Jackson with absolutely no nicknames, and Ophelia get along immediately as they are the same age and have the same knowledge that their world extends beyond the "normal barriers.")

Powers:

Ophelia is Half-Nereid! And so her skin is extremely pale no matter how much sunlight she gets and she has gills! Unfortunately, they shrink with disuse but are really easy to cover up with jackets and sweatshirts which Ophelia wears religiously bc she is always cold and traumatized from having killed her own father

She can breath underwater and communicate with all types of sea animals. More than even Percy can because Poseidon controls more of the ocean-itself aspects while Amphitrite focuses on the animals within it!

There's not much else to her other than the night vision (that unfortunately comes with sensitivity/aversion to light & migraines) and extremely sharp teeth/claws that come with her being part nereid but trust me, those are absolutely cool too and she doesn't need flashy powers to be any less of a powerful Princess/Demigod.

And, Lastly, Fun Facts!

She doesn't really like killing... at all... which is why Penelope is there and they're best friends because Penelope will absolutely rock someone's shit without even having to ask.

Penelope + Percy are Princess/Princes of the Oceans themselves but Ophelia is regaled as higher than them by the Sea Creatures within it. So, basically that means the oceans listen to Percy + Penelope but the Creatures listen to Ophelia (although they can somewhat easily command, but more like ask, in the other's domain anyway)

Ophelia suffers from terrible migraines which are not helped by the fact that she had to learn how to write and read at 12/13 years old because all Diabolos taught her was how to obsessively fish, track, and hunt :)

Surprisingly, she loves fish and Percy is absolutely Offended(TM)

Absolutely no thoughts, head empty most of the time but luckily it's just in a neutral way. She doesn't need thoughts <3

Plays a variety of instruments because she learned the notes/how to read music as she was learning how to read (since Penelope was trying out in band + choir at the time to see what she liked [she eventually picks choir]) and plays a bunch of instruments to accompany her sister's solos and their school's performances. It's a running joke how the band teacher keeps trying to recruit her at the end of every performance but she finds the band intimidating and icky. They're loud and she likes the simple and straight-cutness of her learning on her own/with Penelope and then practicing every once in a while with the choir.

She has Major Anxiety and hates crowds because they're unpredictable--especially to her, having grown up Very Isolated--and loud.

Re: Billy, yeeaahh, I think there’s exactly one *potential* way Billy could have been persuaded to leave without a fight and that’s if Chrissy was there at the Byers for some reason and she and Steve tricked Billy into thinking he saw her instead of Max. (1/ hopefully 2)

Why is Chrissy there? I don’t know. Maybe this is a ‘Chrissy and Steve are cousins’ au and he called her over in the hopes that her presence would stop the Party from sneaking out to commit arson to save Will’s life. Maybe she actually got caught up in everything last year bc she tagged along with Steve when he went to apologize (probably another cousins au scenario). Maybe she saw Max skateboarding, thought it was cool, and started a conversation. (Part 3 incoming)

(3/3) Cheerleading is pretty hard, so if Max was either already aware of that or found out while talking/hanging out with Chrissy, I think it’s reasonable that Max might admire Chrissy, which could potentially result in Chrissy being asked to the junkyard (especially if Max didn’t buy Lucas’s story, which I don’t think she did).

oooh fascinated by Steve and Chrissy being sporty cousins who are basically siblings tho. Steve who calls Chrissy his "sister but actually my cousin but basically my sister" in his brain because she's maybe 7/8 months younger than him so was in the grade below but they grew up together and almost all the baby pictures have them together in matching outfits :') they saved worms together from the pavement after it rained. Chrissy put them in Steve's hair and he cried. (she did this many times) They sit beside each other at family gatherings and just much sly and cutting mean girl comments about their relatives to make the other laugh. Or make distressed faces at each other from across the table when grandpa Otis is getting drunk and ready to rant.

Chrissy who Steve called during his sad boy clean up his own mess hours and she was like "okay I'll drive you to the byers house? You got knocked around I'll drive please don't get in a wreck auntie Diane would kill me." and she waits in the car for him but then Shit Goes Down and there's lights flashing and Steve runs out, but he stops, and looks back. and then locks eyes with Chrissy, and runs back in. So she follows. And finds out monsters are real right beside her brother-cousin.

yeah okay I'm digging Chrissy and Steve cousins au but it HAS to be coupled with Chrissy lives au I can't do that to them. I can't make Steve try to clear Eddie's name while mourning the only family he's known loved him. (but GOD a Jason/steve confrontation in that au? where jason is like she was your family! and steve is like I know!! That's why you need to believe me that Eddie didn't do this! I want revenge just as much as you! oh god this is so sad no no Chrissy lives in harrington cousin au.)

Anyway but Yeah. I think, like. Billy just wanted to punch someone. I guess because Chrissy is a pretty and popular girl, he would at least hesitate in his itch for a fight. Billy doesn't respect women but he's savvy enough to get in with Tommy, Steve's former bestie, so he knows enough that Chrissy isn't someone he wants to be on the bad side of. So perhaps it would...slow down? the events? idk. I really do think once Billy saw Steve or Lucas he wasn't leaving without punching someone. She could try to convince him it was her in the window, if Steve had gone out first, and that might give the kids time to hide better, but Steve isn't leaving s2 without getting punched by Billy in place of Lucas. It's one of those "locked in the timeline" things for me. Sorry Steve :( at least sometimes you aren't knocked out completely.

this answer is all over the place haha but post s3 pre s4 chrissy seeing Max skateboarding and thinking it's pretty cool and striking up a little mentor-friendship with her is so cute. Two lonely girls</3 Maybe Max teaches her to kickflip and Chrissy Teaches her to cartwheel... holds her ankles up to get the feel for it...and for a little while they don't feel so alone... aww... I love giving Max role models and older girls to look up to. She's got Steve but she deserves some girls looking out for her.

Since discord sucks with character limits

So we're starting with this.

We start with the exact relation that Zhao and Jodie hold. Their souls are bound together, however they're separate people who lived their own lives in the Close timeline. In the Foster timeline however, their souls shared a body (Jodie's) because of the timeline shift.

Next. We have Jodie's family life. He's not an only child, but is the second youngest, only having a younger sister. He has an older sister (who cut all ties to the family) and an older brother (who is second oldest). Jodie's father and brother are both cops and also why Jodie became one (to make his family proud of him.) (He doesn't enjoy the job all that much, he likes how he feels because he feels in control of things for once. But it's a lot of just sitting and watching cars as a highway cop.)

His family is the nuclear family type. Mom stays at home and cleans and cooks. Dad works. His sisters were taught how to become good housewives for when they got married. Of course this is also why his older sister (and oldest child) cut ties from the family. However before she did, she and Jodie got along when Jodie had his little "rebel" phase (also when I headcanon when he meets Morgan, who was also having a rebel phase). Of course as Jodie gets older past his younger teens years, he stops this and starts becoming serious. He starts doing things that'll help him go into the career path the rest of the men in his family have done.

Of course this causes a lot of issues for him because he kind of doesn't feel like he has an identity besides just being Officer Foster, one of many. He does like the structure though, his ADHD (and his autism that I hc him with because he's so me fr.)

Now in the Close timeline, he starts to just have a routine of getting up everyday and doing his job, going hoke. Showering and then eating. Then sleeps. Repeat. However in the Foster timeline, he meets Morgan, and they fall in love. So instead his schedule also includes his family in there.

Back to his family however. Him and his father have a strained relationship. When Jodie was younger (in his young teen years), they fought all the time. Mostly about how Jodie wasn't going to become another Officer Foster like every other man in the family. :(

And his relationship with his mother isn't the best as well. He loves and adores his mom, but in the foster household, after one of the boys turns 14, they're kinda just ignored by their mother.

Moving to the Close timeline. After Zhao is finally let out of being kinda trapped, Jodie and Zhao go to hell with Nick and Dee (obviously). Jodie never expected to get any sort of acceptance into Dee family, or the demon term (pack). So when he was accepted, it was shocking to him. And now he sees Dee as his mama (not mom, as he can't just forget his mom). But being accepted as one of Dee's kits (and now one of 3, as Dee accepts Glenn as her kit too) [dee went from 1 kit to 3 kits]. Also kit is the demon term for kid/child <3 (I have a lot of demon hcs that I will be sharing during this whole thing)

Zhao and Dee also help Jodie with demon stuff. Like how to keep horns and wings and tails in proper condition. And also how to use Zhao's weapons properly. (Though not without a few burns and scars from practice.)

So I had a thought about my hosie fankids in the ffxiv AU while talking about them in the FC I'm in.

Hayley and Leo are a little complicated--in terms of how I wrote their stories in TVDU--to translate into FFXIV AU, mostly because of the types of Jobs that you can pick in FFXIV (here's the full post of Hosie and my Hosie fankids with the FFXIV Jobs I have chosen for them)

Since Hayley is a werewolf with vampire blood running inside her and has no affinity with magic whatsoever, like I'm talking her witch side is so dormant that it's practically non-existent. But in FFXIV terms, I think maybe she does have some abilities with magic, but in a way that it doesn't actually work. Like I'm talking FFXIV!Hayley cannot use magic in the way her Mom and Momma Hope and Josie, her older sister Lana, or her twin brother Jay can do. But I think for her, it's okay because Hayley's fight style is--like in that post I linked above--is more "rush into the throws of battle and right in the front lines" rather than staying behind. Also while writing this, I think having her take up Reaper Job would actually be really good and sort of fitting to the "she's a werewolf who also has vampire blood running through her" tidbit. Fuck i have to update that post now lmao. But yeah, she theoretically can do magic in FFXIV world but chooses not to because she would rather be front and centre in battle and taking the enemy's target off of her loved ones and onto her so everyone else can get a chance to get in their shots.

With Leo, however. In TVDU, he's the only human amongst his family of supernatural, and that can lead to a bit of an inferiority complex (maybe?) especially when he wants to be a part of his older sibling's adventures and world but can't because he's just a kid. just a human. So it makes him feel pretty shitty. But in FFXIV AU, that can't really be a thing because for starters, Hosie+Lana+twins are Hyur, which are basically just humans; while Leo is a Miqot'e, which is basically a cat race (now you too can live out your catboy/catgirl dreams). So I would have to focus on abilities, specifically magical abilities. So that means, Hosie+Lana+twins have some sort of affinity to magic (except Hayley's is a bit um, wonky and she doesn't use it like ever so it's fine). I have his main Job be Scholar--so I think the way he can cast spells and magic is through the Carbuncle(/Selene but I glamoured the fairy to a yellow Carbuncle because I thought it fits Leo way better so in canon-lore, Leo has a yellow Carbuncle since he was young!) because the Carbuncle formed a really strong bond with Leo, so the Carbuncle's lending Leo its abilities to allow him to cast magic and spells.

Same reasoning for when Leo picks up Summoner Job because, again, Leo's probably befriended the three main Egis (Titan, Garuda, Ifrit Egis) and Carbuncle is like the middleman kind of to help bring the Egis into battle whenever Leo needs or calls it.

Now, for the Astrologian Job, I'm not entirely sure yet. I'm still refining some semantics, but so far, I think the idea would be Leo's using the magic that's infused in the Astrologian weapon, the Star Globe, to draw cards to cast spells. So, like the magic isn't inherently his, but he's using the magic already in his weapon to channel what he wants to do, if that makes sense. My other idea was still going with Carbuncle route, which actually I might make canon? Because I think it'd be cute for Leo's Carbuncle to stay beside him all the time despite not being Scholar or Summoner (bc I did have Leo pick up Jobs like Astrologian and Machinist and Bard) and lending Leo its aetheric energy for Leo to use. I think that's cute and yeah, I might stick with that actually. Leo's Carbuncle MVP!

A HisPANICK, way of life.

I'm growing and as I'm growing so is my wisdom in life.

Growing up, I idolized the women in my family. I saw them as strong maternal women, who did anything and everything for their children, and the children of the family.

In my family, there was an unspoken hierarchy. The oldest girls took care of the younger brood. We were taught at least the generation I am from, to practically care and raise the younglings.

Cook, clean, bathe, repeat, repeat, repeat.

I was still a child and had the responsibility of a woman thrust upon me.

This is not unheard of in a lot of hispanic families. The girls, are not girls, they are women in girls bodies. Such adult responsibilities and emotion forced and molded into such fragile bodies.

I am now in my late 30's. And I have always looked from within, the answers I needed.

Sometimes good, sometimes but, but mostly good.

I have come to realized the damage such actions have caused.

I have always been a naturally caring person, I have always put others before me. Always, and I still do, the only thing different is now it is not expected of me.

But caring for others has become one big chunk of my personality. I am also very nurturing, which even though its crazy demands and hard times, being a mom is something I always wanted.

but at my own terms. I wanted a positive relationship. I wanted a stable house hold, I wanted to raise my children in love.

I have that now.

That being said, I have moved away from my family to start living my own.

Still the weight and the stress of my extended family has haunted me. It has reached me, despite the distance.

Beside myself, my aunt, titi Z, was a caring person. She took care of her own family, and the extended family. She was troubled, but she always took care when needed. Selflessly too. Always self less.

People took advantage of that. Even I, I will admit.

All of us, always pawned off the needed assistance to her.

She has passed, and she is sorely missed.

Now I've notice that it seems I was meant to take her place.

Because I truly was molded to help, to come to the rescue, to be obedient, to be the "good" one in the family.

I don't get it. I don't.

One day, they're praising me. How good I am, and that I've never changed, and that I have a good heart. All this.

In the same breath, they say take care of yourself, you have to be healthy for you and the baby.

I had the worst birth. I went in for an appointment and by that evening, I was hooked up and taken in for a emergency c-section.

My baby is healthy, I am ok.

I stayed in the hospital for about a week. I came home, to my mom immediately asking me to help take care of my sisters baby.

Me. The one who just got several layers cut upon.

The disappointed expression on her face still makes me want to cry.

My family is a family, but they are so toxic. So toxic and they bleed the stuff. They bleed it and they breathe it.

One minute I think, I'm ok, they understand me, they care for me.

I make one wrong move, say how overwhelmed I am.

and BAM! I am targeted. And I hate it. I hate it bc the feelings are so heavy knowing I did something wrong. I let them down. Its a swirl of emotions that make me sick and I cannot sleep at night.

It consumes me inside. I panic. I cry. I don't want to be this way. I don't want to feel this way. I strive, I struggle, I do everything to keep them happy, to keep them cared for.

I do so much, I am the one they use to cry on. I am the one who gives them financial help, I am everything. I am the definition of help.

But! When I stumble, I make a mistake of expressing how this is all killing me?

No, they stop talking. They give me the silent treatment. You just cried to me the other day of your worries, here I am telling you I need to step back. I need to breathe.

And now, I am the bad one.

I am the ungrateful one.

I am not my mothers nurse, of doctor. I cannot be her carer she hates me and she treats me like less than human.

I can not care for everyone at once. I am human. I am weak. I am sensitive. And it hurts, and it kills me when I am nothing to them.

And so, I've realized that I cannot change this toxicity. This weird ugly environment of hate, and green lighting, and manipulation.

They can have all of that, everything.

And though their words will cut me, and it will hurt me and probably destroy me. I will be free to fill my life with joy, with caring for my boyfriend and our child. We will make our lives happy.

All of Cal's friends think Zach is a criminal (he is) so their not fond of him, minus jamie who thinks hes innocent. Zach has met 2 of Cal's sisters and only likes Crickett, and hates the rest of her family on principal. Cal hates Zachs dad and the feelings mutual, Cal has a good relationship w Zachs mom. Zach doesn’t have any friends❤️.

43. If they picked out outfits for each other, what would they look like?

Cal would give him the lamest polo she could find and a pair of jeans. Zach would probably give her a red dress.

Yeah I agree those Pakistani dramas do be having the same story , the girl marries the guy she doesn't loves (who's most probably her second cousin) , she goes thru oppression and idkw by the fam, but still survives it , then the husband slowly and gradually starts falling in love but then the girl's father dies, which leaves her in depression, the boys fam take this as an opportunity to confiscate the property of the girls hich is left by her dead father, bcz she was the only kid and her mother has eventually gone crazy due to the loss of her husband , the sister of the husband decided to add more salt to the wound somehow the MCs fight but the female protagonist finds out she's pregnant oh no and somehow things fall in place , the boys family is exposed and they apologise which leads to a happy ever after. 😀
