I think more people should know that Neil Young "Rockin' in the Free World' playing Tim Walz off tonight was also a big big middle finger to Trump, since Young sued Trump for illegal use of his songs, and specifically this song, during his 2015 campaign.

So. Y'know). Like, when Lil Jon blew the goddamn roof off for Georgia during the roll call (which we all loved)? That may never be topped in any other political convention ever.

In terms of celebrity involvement, I also have to give a quick shoutout to Mark Hamill and Sean Astin being SO involved in the DNC and stumping for Kamala every chance they get. Especially compared to someone like JK Rowling, who wrote a formative piece of anti-fascist literature for so many of us and then dove headfirst into being a fascist, it's great to see Luke Skywalker still fighting the evil empire in real life, and Samwise Gamgee, deliverer of the "BECAUSE THERE'S SOME GOOD IN THIS WORLD MR. FRODO AND IT'S WORTH FIGHTING FOR" line that has kept me going in many many dark times, actually living up to the promise of their stories. I just have a lot of feelings about this.

I guess all I can say is you gotta see a lot, save it to your memory, and know how to do some mix-match.

If you take a look at the Galery section in my commission info web, you'll see nothing I've done to the PCs comes even a bit close to what I actually design for commission or work. The style, I mean. So if you want to draw clothes or characters with simple but still pleasing designs, I think it's safe to say just do whatever you like. My PCs wear only black and white because I like those colors. Lyah wears glasses because I like men with glasses, he has his sleeves rolled up because I like men when they roll their shirt sleeves up. Lya's dress top is skimpy because I like to draw soft boobs spilling out of the hem of clothes. Kariya wears virgin killer because I like bare back and side boobs, etc... Do what you like most. Then you'll know how to make them pretty.

Or... if you want to be more complicated, let's say, hoyoverse or onmyouji or Square Enix level, even Love Nikki level of complicated, then you must really add as many things as possible to your image library. I don't know how to actually say this, it's hard to put into words, but just keep finding references and keep drawing.

Motifs and tropes are something to learn too. For how insect wings and flowers will make you think of fairy or natural, while clocks or gears remind you of steampunk.

How to make a female character look like a mommy? What kind of mommy are we talking about? The "ara ara" type? By making their figure look more round and plum, making their hair loose or more silky with a long dress and apron, and making them always have their palm to cup the side of their face, and tilt their head a little... Things like that. Sometimes stereotype is a good way to start your design game.

Or how to tell if a character is a young brat? Spiky hair, missing teeth with bandages here and there, maybe a tattoo or some piercings with sloppy clothes? Butttttt when you look closer they always have, maybe, some cute stickers on their belongings? Maybe because they have a lil sibling and they have a soft side for that sibling? Yeah, sneak in some easter egg here and there. It's fun when people notice an Easter egg and hopefully, that could lead to questions or discussion between your fans!

Beautiful Bookbinding!

As many people know this week has been really fucking difficult for me. So when I got home today and saw a package waiting for me, I was so pleasantly surprised.

So @kydrogendragon, my wonderful, amazing, dear friend made a whole ass fucking binding of my fic, Swim For Brighter Days!!! Just look at that beautiful cover, as well as the back with the summary!!!

AND... AND!!! Look at the package it came in!

So, in the fic, Hob ends up getting really into Archeology. So much so that he ends up being one of the first people in London to publish journals about the proper ways to preserve and respect ancient archeological sites. SO Ky fashioned a whole package that looked like a draft of a research paper!!

AND... the stamps on the corner... Those are lil Easter eggs from the fic itself! I am crying!!!

THEY ACTUALLY INCLUDED ARCHEOLOGICAL NOTES AND COMMENTARY FROM SITES! LIKE THE DETAIL THAT WENT INTO THIS GIFT HAD ME IN LITERAL TEARS!

LOOK AT THIS COVER PAGE!! The olive branches on the header signifying Calliope, and the poppies on the footer signifying Dream. It's so beautiful!!

Again, the amount of thought and detail that went into this bind. Adding little commentary in pen (Hob's writing) that acts as a look into what the chapter will be about (1816 - Hob meets Calliope through George Byron). Adding the wine glass stain in 1899 because Hob had spent the evening drinking.

And then... 2022... the scorch marks. I won't spoil what happens in that chapter. You guys can read the fic or take a wild guess based on the context.

Also, GUYS! Look at the Publishing House! How it goes from White Horse Science to New Inn Science! Ky... KY!!! The fucking brilliance of your project. I am just overwhelmed with happiness.

The final chapter which includes Dream's and Calliope's messages to Hob!

I also wanted to point out the dividers throughout the book. They're a combination of Dream's poppy and Calliope's olive branches. I was screaming in delight and happiness.

Also look at the sweet lil poppy at the end. I love it!

The back of the Research Packet! Including sweet sticky notes of encouragement from Hob's lovers, Dream and Calliope. I just... I am so soft right now.

The best part of all this? The fic was written as a gift FOR Ky! It was a fic I'd written for the Sadman Server Spring Exchange. Now it has been given back to me in a beautiful meaningful bound with little nods to the fic itself.

Like I said in previous headcanons, egg painting dates are regular, no if's or but's, he loves having someone to talk to and help him prepare the lil ones for next Easter.

Easter omo prompt because i am unhinged

Adults easter egg hunt happening in the evening- and someone is helping hide the eggs but they realllly need to pee but also want to finish hiding the eggs because the hunt is about to start.

Maybe they're able to just pee because they're in the woods buuuut maybe they're somewhere not as forgiving of public urination

SO they're a bit frantic, hiding the rest of the eggs as fast as they can (are they super obvious spots? Yes, they'll just say they're giving everyone a chance to find at least one egg) so that they're lil basket is empty.

Empty so that they can pee in it- ofc it's a wickered basket but they're so desperate to go they don't even think of that as they shuffle their pants off enough to start peeing....and pee near instantly starts dribbling out of the holes of the basket and onto the ground beneath them.

When they're done they sorta just stand there for a moment, relieved but now left with a basket coated with pee- they look around and spot a rain puddle and just sorta, ""accidentally drop""" the basket in it to at least have an excuse as to why the basket is weirdly wet xD
