NEW FIC
Hey guys! Just posted the first fic to my newest series! Very excited for this fic. Definitely one of my fav fics I’ve written!
Link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/48840238
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Title: Welcome to the Club…
Rating: M
Words: 2,219
Summary:
Katsuki closed the door to Deku's room silently, before making his way to the stairwell - needing to make it back to his room before others got up this morning. His luck though, Shinsou’s door opened as he passed, and Pikachu snuck his way into the hallway.
“Leaving already?”
“Ah!” Kaminari whisper yelled, turning to face him, electricity crackling over his skin, “Kats, man, don’t do that!”
Katsuki only rolled his eyes, moving to open the stairwell door for both of them. “You should check the hallway before leaving, dumbass.”
——-
Class 3a shenanigans of trying to make it back to their own dorm rooms without getting caught by Iida or Aizawa
Who knew there’d be so many of them sneaking around?

Hii, I hope your day/night is going well! I don’t think you’ve ever been asked this from what I’ve seen; but do you have any idea how the NRC school system works? my pea brain I cannot figure it out for the life of me 😭 I know that they have magical subjects ofc (magical history, alchemy, etc.), and they also have the more practical ones like math (unfortunately), but they also mention having electives. I know Azul and Ace have mentioned sharing elective(s) with others, which just leaves me to wonder how many periods they have or if they rotate classes around each day if that makes sense? And on top of that, the lesson chat things of the characters (including upperclassman/people not in 1A with ADeuce?) saying they’ll go along with the schedule we [Yuu] have in mind for the day.
Sorry this got to be so long and you don’t even have to answer at all, just a question that’s been in my mind! :)
Tumblr media
As far as I'm aware, we are not told much about how class schedules work at Night Raven College. We don't know how many classes there are in a day, or if the students take the same classes every day or have them on rotation (for example, Magic History on Tuesdays and Thursdays only). We can, however, do our best to extrapolate from what we have!
We have a partial schedule shown in the Episode of Heartslabyul manga (volume 2, chapter 8). In it, we follow Adeuce, Yuuken, and Grim through the school day and right up until lunchtime. They seem to have 3 classes (Alchemy/Potionology, Magic History/History of Magic, and P.E.) and then a lunch break. In book 7 of the game, Ace is having lunch and mentions his "next class" being in the lab, though it's not said what course that is. That line (assuming the "lab class" is Alchemy/Potionology) could imply the schedule is shuffled around depending on the day, but it's at best an assumption.
We also have an idea about a decent chunk of Azul's class schedule, if you can believe that. In 3-7, we get to see his first three periods (Music, Animal Linguistics, and Potionology/Alchemy, in that order). He then goes to lunch. This would seem to imply that all students have three periods and then a lunch break. We don't know how many periods follow after lunch, but I think a safe guess would at least another 3.
In Jamil's Lab Wear vignettes, we learn that class 2-C (Azul and Jamil) take Alchemy/Potionology after Riddle's class, 2-E, does. This means Riddle and Jade take Alchemy/Potionology or some other labwork for second period. We additionally learn in Jade's P.E. vignette that he and Riddle have P.E. for fourth period, which must be after lunch. This implies that required courses are likely taken with students in one's grade level and maybe homeroom, as this is true of Jamil/Azul and Riddle/Jade combos. This doesn't appear to hold true for electives like Master Chef/Culinary Crucibles and Poison Making/Poison Refining, which receives a mix of students.
I would be hesitant about treating Lessons as 100% canonical, as the gameplay elements of TWST sometimes contradicts the lore we are given in the story and voice lines. For example, you as the player are able to put first years, second years, and third years in the same Lessons when, in reality, this would not be feasible, especially not ALL the time or whenever you want them to be mergee. Some courses would require prerequisites that the first years have yet to complete, and not everyone would realistically be choosing to take the exact same electives. Additionally, second years and third years would have to be taking different sections for some subjects which cover entirely different content than what is given to first years. (For example, students don't learn about the Righteous Judge until Magic History II, which you take in your second year. This is why the first years don't know who the figure is when asked about him in Glorious Masquerade.) It’s true that sometimes there are joint classes for PE and even lab classes, but you as the player would not reasonably be able to dictate when those joint classes happened or who else is in attendance.
I'm sure that some of the information dropped in Lessons are true (ie lines from the characters' Chats and the lines they drop during the actual Lessons/when they're gaining stars). However, the things directed at Yuu are dubiously true in my eyes since the pre-Lesson lines are directed as much at the player as they are to Yuu. They're lines meant to make the player themselves feel like they're forming friendships with the boys and participating in learning with them even though this (again) wouldn't make complete sense in-universe. Yuu can't use magic, so they wouldn't be able to participate in upper-level classes which require the use of magic. They wouldn't be following second and third years to those classes. It's also nonsensical to think that the school would allow for any student to just make up whatever schedule they feel like doing on the spot for the entire year. I believe the wording is like this ("Oh, I'll do whatever you want to do, Yuu!") for Lessons to, again, give the player a sense of freedom, and feel like they're taking initiative to bond with their favorite characters.
That being said, here's what else I could find regarding NRC's curriculum:
Crewel heads the Science department, Trein the Humanities, and Vargas Physical Education.
Students are not allowed to use UMs/signature spells during class. They are, however, allowed to use general magic if directed to by the instructors.
First year students focus more on concepts and theories. The older students have classes which involve more use of magic than theory.
There are sometimes joint lessons, or classes running concurrently with one another with students of different year levels involved.
History of Magic/Magic History seems to be a required course; its materials are divided up into different sections and taught based on your year in schooling. The Righteous Judge, for example, is covered in year 2.
Flight/Flying is described as an elective class; not many Pomefiore students take it.
Alchemy is another required course; it seems to provide the base knowledge for potion making before students qualify for other more complex science electives. For example, Crewel berates the first years for touching equipment in the manga and instead has them identify plants.
Potionology (or Magic Pharmaceuticals) seems to be a potions making class.
All students must take Physical Education.
Some students remark on sharing electives with others. For example, Ace and Sebek are in Enigmics/Magic Analysis together, Deuce and Epel are in the same Flight class, Vil and Cater and Lilia take Poison Making/Poison Refining, Silver and Kalim share Astrology and Practical Magic, Jamil and Azul have Potionology, etc.)
Though all 22 NRC students have/will have an Apprentice Chef card, we don't have confirmation that they all took the elective in the main story canon. The exception is Sebek, who has a line in book 7 stating that he's glad he took the Master Chef course.
NRC offers electives like (Visual) Art and Music/Musicology, which encourages and expands one's imagination. This is important because spellcasting is enhanced by having a strong imagination.
The TWST 4koma shows us that third years are able to infuse their artworks with magic, thus bringing them to life. It seems that first and second years do not attempt this magic yet.
There is an elective called Animal Languages/Animal Linguistics, but the name is broad and doesn't specify which animals you're learning to communicate with. This appears to be similar to a real-life foreign language course.
Practical Magic involves using spell formulas in order to achieve a practical goal, such as autocleaning. This is a required subject; failure to pass means you are held back one year.
Enchanting objects is described to be a "basic, rudimentary magic" that even first years are capable of performing.
Physical Training and Swimming seem to be P.E. electives.
Electives we don't have much information about: Protection/Defense Magic, Summoning/Conjuration, Biology.
Master Chef/Culinary Crucibles is an elective designed to give the students the practical skills to provide nutritious meals for themselves. This and P.E. are meant to help keep the mages healthy and in good shape to perform their magic.
Enigmics/Magic Analysis is a mathematics-based course. Ace describes it as solving logic questions using formulas.
Ancient Magic involves reading old texts and deciphering their meaning.
Astrology involves reading the stars and using them to make predictions.
Third years must choose between Poison Making/Refining and Changes & Comparisons of Abbreviated Spells in Ancient and Modern Magic History as an elective. The latter is a lot of writing and making chronological tables.
To graduate NRC, students must complete mandatory off-campus internships in their fourth and final year. Third years attend an orientation meeting in the springtime to prepare them for the application process.
Internships begin in September, around the same time classes start. There are three periods for the internship; students can choose to remain at the same site or take up to three different internships, each lasting 3 months.
A student's internship site options will vary depending on the individual's electives, class credits, and grades.
Some internships require special technical exams and/or interviews. It is also possible that some internship sites will scout desired students in advance. This was the case for Idia, who was given several internship offers after his presentation at a cultural fair.
Each quarter, fourth years must receive an evaluation of B or higher, as well as submit a written report about their experience. A student must receive credit in at least 2 out of 3 internships in order to qualify for graduation.
There is a final exam you need to pass for graduation.

SHOTO HCS FOR HIS DAY
Tumblr media
THIS GIF IS SO CLEANNN 🤩 ANYWAY TODAY BABY SHOTO CAME INTO THIS WORLD AND WE GON TURN UP WITH SOME HCS‼️‼️
#turn up w shotoooo🤪
At the beginning of your relationship it was definitely giving awkward phase..
but don’t worry it definitely won’t stay like that forever
but for now he’s doing little gestures he knows you’d like
buying tickets/seats to any concert/movie you said was your favorite
Anime cons too
he likes to share his soba with you
yes typical, but he’s not self absorbed or anything, so if you want to share ‘okay!’
if not he will bring snacks he knows you’d like to school and give it to you during lunch
he likes to hang out in your dorm a lot
it gives him a warm sense of home
very comforting to him
he doesn’t really know what to do much in relationships but the amount of effort, time, thought and care he puts into it makes him seem so knowledgeable about them??
like shoto I thought you said you’ve never been in a relationship before?? 🤨
tbh the awkward phase doesn’t necessarily seem awkward it’s just, a lot of your time is spent in silence or quiet chit chatting
I mean unless your a extrovert who likes to talk
after you get out that phase though
he starts to be more confident
he likes to trace your hands (and face, in private)
he will kiss your knuckles, not because someone told him it was romantic, but because he really likes your hands
Soft, big, small, rough, long, short, slim, chubby, vieny, bro he just likes your hands!!
he doesn’t break eye contact much either
this might have intimidated you at first because he has a strong gaze (or maybe it didn’t)
but it’s more so of him observing every detail of your face
if feel like if shoto spoke his mind a little more he would be sooo romantic
like instead of the conversation going
“uhh need something shoto? You’ve been staring at me for a while”
“oh nothing I’m just observing your every feature so that even when I close my eyes I can remember the way whatever god that created you sculpted your ethereal face.”
it’s going
“Uhh yeah? Your staring, why? 😅”
”oh” *looks away*
LIKE WHAT??
that difference is TOO huge 🤦‍♀️
random
You love the way shoto softly smiles around you
it makes you feel special
btw shoto probably won’t introduce you to his family for quite a bit of time for two reasons
1: he doesn’t wanna get you involved with his mess
2: if you two don’t work out he doesn’t want his business on the streets
now of course he trusts you but you can never be to cautious, he doesn’t go around blabbing his business, why would he want you to??
the solidarity silence is real
like, he could be reading as your working on homework with music playing in the background
Maybe you occasionally ask him for help on some questions
and he occasionally sips some tea momo made
speaking of which momo is your biggest supporter
along with izuku
shoto likes to go to the beach either really early or really late for two reasons
1: not many people are there
2: you get to watch the sunrise/sunset together
3: he likes the feeling of walking on sand
And yes I said two and added a third one bc he really likes the beach
I’m gonna make the other half of these hcs about his day bc it is! <3
so all of class 1A gets up early everyday, weeks before shoto’s big day to start planning :)
you get up early and others start working on the decorations, others buy gifts and needed things, y’all even buy him a outfit!!
and your going all out because you told everyone shoto told you he never celebrated bc of his past :(
so your bigging it up this year!!
you bought him a soba maker to store in his dorm<3
and yes it was very expensive bc it’s high quality!!
it’s so worth it for him tho
everyone’s gift varies depending on what they bond with him on
although shoto is kinda to himself so you had to help out some people but that’s okay
some people set things up, others wrap gifts, another making a card, ironing his outfit, etc! Bright and early on his big day!
when he gets up that day he’s truly in shock
he doesn’t know what to say
”…….you guys planned this?”
he figures your the main instigator since he told you
and he was right :)
first you planned the amazing breakfast momo made for him, it was delicious
next you guys went rolled skating
then you all went out for lunch
after you guys came home and opened gifts, along with a party you invited friends to, such as class 1B, shiketsu, etc everyone! 💓
lastly you all eat dinner (soba) & party til midnight before hitting the hay ♥︎
and man I summed it up a lot bc it was epic!!
there were so many funny moments and you can bet Mina recorded every second of it!!
She sent it to the group chat and shoto saved it
he looks at it quite often
It was a ”brings tears to my eyes” experience for him 💖💖
He’s so happy about it, and he tells you all about how happy it made him, opening up to you even more as you cuddle in bed late that night
💛
ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE ENDING IM SO GLAD I WROTE THIS!!
I’m gonna try not to miss too many anime character’s days but i can’t guarantee..LOL!

I will FOREVER be salty about how Hori paints his characters with valid criticisms against the status quo as in the wrong:
Monoma - hates Bakugou, therefore hates 1A by association and is painted out to be some over the top arrogant asshole who freaks out every time they so much as breath (Monoma's not my favorite, but he's 100% right when it comes to Bakugou).
Rock Lock - doesn't want the first years (maybe also the third years, idk?) involved in the Shie Hassaikai raid due to how dangerous it is and due to having recently had a newborn son, is painted as someone who's being overprotective and unfair to these heroes in training.
Inko - isn't comfortable with Izuku continuing at UA after the Forest Camp Attack, is painted as being overprotective (I have my issues with Inko, but she had an incredibly valid point here).
The media - rightfully criticizes UA's utter inability to protect their students and reign in Bakugou's behavior (the hill I will die on), is painted as trying to unfairly persecute UA/Aizawa.
Present Mic - uses common sense to deduce that there's a traitor in UA's midst, is portrayed as being a shit stirrer who's quick to distrust his colleagues and students (another hill I'll die on).
Gran Torino (a minor one) - calls Aizawa's high expulsion rate as what it is: nasty (showing that even he has standards), is immediately corrected by Present Mic that the expulsions are "only on paper" and Aizawa truly cares deep down (which actually makes it WORSE since it stays on their permanent records regardless).
Other students taking the Provisional Exam - call out Bakugou for being an obnoxious asshole, are immediately painted as "not understanding how hard he works."
Pro Heroes and Present Mic - call out Bakugou for not taking Ochako seriously in the Sports Festival, are told to RETIRE for not understanding how Bakugou clearly works harder than anybody else to be a hero (but then Bakugou proceeds to get the second highest amount of internship offers, so idk what the fuck point Horikoshi was trying to make here).
Vlad King is a weird one because while his one-sided rivalry with Aizawa/1A is obnoxious and unprofessional, he IS a better teacher than Aizawa is and it's a point not focused on aside from an off hand comment by Aizawa. You'd think this would make him examine whether or not his beliefs are truly benefiting his students or have Nedzu call him up and say, "what's up with your class consistently underperforming against 1B?"
Best Jeanist is perhaps the ONLY Pro-Hero to see Bakugou's behavior for what it is and takes him as an intern to rectify it... but proceeds to focus on all the wrong things (his style being the main one) and not really get to the core of his goal.
Society as a whole doesn't trust heroes for a myriad of reasons (some unreasonably, some for extremely valid reasons) and are painted as being unfair and incredibly biased against heroes as a whole.
Izuku leaves UA due to AFO having Ragdoll's Quirk, is essentially ganged up on and beaten/shamed into submission by Class 1A who completely disregard his POV (I don't agree with him putting himself in this position, I'm just pointing how it makes sense narratively).
Me, trying to make sense of all of this -
Tumblr media
Like... how is your story supposed to be nuanced and your characters three-dimensional if you paint the complainer as always in the wrong?

Hey hey I was wondering if you could do a aizawa with his teen daughter who just found out she was pregnant and how he and her deal with everything
[Since Anon didn’t specify whether the daughter was impregnated by choice, I’m going to go a darker route and say that the reader was r~~~d by their ex (they were together at the time, but they broke up after the reader found out their boyfriend assaulted them in their sleep) and although they are upset about the situation, they can’t bring themselves to terminate the baby.]
Aizawa x Teen Daughter Reader: Teenage Pregnancy
You and your boyfriend had a really good relationship going. You both had agreed to save sex for when you were out of Highschool and both had stable jobs
At least, that’s what you thought
You were 17 years old when you got ‘sick’. Constantly throwing up in the mornings and certain smells made you puke.
Aizawa had noticed this and hoped it was just the flu but decided to be safe and went to buy Pregnancy tests and left them on your bed with a note saying:
“I picked these up for you, I promise I won’t be angry or upset with you if you’re pregnant. You’re old enough to know that every action has consequences. Just know that I’m here to help in any way I can.
Love, Dad”
When you missed your period you decided to take the tests. Needless to say they were positive.
When Aizawa heard you crying through the bathroom door, his heart slightly broke, so he tried to talk to you
“Sweetheart, are you going to be able to come out and talk to me? I know that you’re upset but please know that I’m not going to be mad at you or scold you. You knew that this was going to be something that could happen when you had sex”
Cue the reader crying even harder. That’s when Aizawa knew, he f~~~ed up.
Oh, oh this is much worse then he could have possibly imagined. His heart broke in two and he felt a simmering of rage start to boil in his gut
“Sweetie, I’m so sorry, forget what I said, you didn’t choose this but I promise I’m going to be here and help you no matter what you choose to do.”
Eri was awake and heard the commotion and asked about what was going on. When Aizawa tried to explain what was happening that’s when you exited the bathroom with a positive test
You knelt down and did your best to explain to Eri what was happening and what it meant. When you saw the look of wonder and excitement on her sweet little face, that was when you decided to keep the baby
Aizawa had called Mic and let him know what was happening as well as Midnight. They both drove over and stayed with you (Midnight didn’t die in this story) whilst Aizawa left to go deal with your Ex
First Trimester:
Aizawa, Mic and Nemuri are there for everything. Aizawa is there at every checkup and has a picture of the ultrasound in his wallet
He started getting things early and stocking up on necessities like diapers, bottles, wipes, etc.
Started to baby-proof the house, helped get a crib set up as well as the nursery
Second Trimester:
He started preparing for you to be homeschooled during maternity leave and made sure you would still be on track to graduate
He and Mic start to buy gender neutral baby clothes, books, toys, etc.
He takes you to every appointment
Third Trimester:
Oh boy, he nervous
His students hear about it and hold a baby shower for you. Each member of class 1A gets you of the baby something. Some of their gifts include: an All Might and Eraserhead onesies, cute baby clothes, some books, a baby food processor and recipe book with storage containers, maternity friendly tea, stuffed toys, etc.
As you start to show more, Nemuri takes you shopping for clothes
Aizawa and Mic surprised you with a painted nursery as well as a car seat
Birth:
Aizawa never had so many mixed emotions all at once
When he got the call at school that you went into labor, he dropped his things and immediately headed to the hospital
Grabs the to go bag as an after thought
Eri calls the baby her little brother and promises to be the best big sister ever
Every milestone, Aizawa is taking pictures of
Of course, uncle Mic helps out with the baby and everything

How abt a crack au where after the cultural festival class 1a decide to all quit school and be a band full time, and they become so popular that most villains give up villaining to go to shows instead and to make sure 1a dont feel the need to switch back to being heroes
1- a quarter of the class has already committed vigilantism, Izuku just encountered two more and is musing on the meeting while riding the high of Jiro's song being able to do for Eri what several heroes couldn't, so a lot of the class is like "well it'll be fine, we can do music and help people on the side, technically until they cancel our provisional licenses or they expire in three years, it won't even be illegal."
2- Todoroki, who doesn't have his licence yet, weighs the pros and cons. He'd like to not have to go to any more remedial lessons where his dad shows up when when he's not supposed to. He asks Jiro about more ice and fire effects, and agrees to go. Tensei was in the family audience and tells Tenya he did an amazing job, which Tenya takes as permission and encouragement to go even though that's absolutely not what Tensei meant and he had no suspicion of the plan at the time. Uraraka looks at the streaming numbers and how much they can earn even with low priced tickets, and agrees. Etc etc etc
3- Bakugou only agrees because Kaminari needled him about being too good to. Unlike Todoroki, he does still attend remedial classes and sends in his normal assignments to UA, somehow while in the band full time, and in the group constantly on the run from Nedzu and various others trying to hunt them down.
4- crime rates plummet to pre-Kamino levels due to villains realizing if the kids stop the band, they're all screwed. The fact that several different villains go to a show and somehow aren't seen again doesn't really get out though to warn anyone off, probably because nobody cared about the Chimera and Mummy, and because when Tomura sent Dabi to find out where Twice and Toga had vanished to, he didn't bother to look.
5- Most of the vestiges are unhappy with this decision to join a band, Second and Third loudly complaining about the immaturity, Yoichi quietly confused and disappointed, Hikage nursing a permanent headache, but Banjo is thrilled, En doesn't say anything either way but wanted to be in a band himself when he was alive, and Nana's just glad Izuku's having fun and helping people smile. For his part, Toshinori is having a blast and is amazed at how Izuku is getting stronger with his quirk even focused as he is at using it for shows and dancing. AfO is a distant threat but one he knows Izuku can handle if he ever breaks out of prison, and in the meantime he needs to make sure all his former students are eating enough to keep up their strength. Hey what's that black stuff coming out of young Midoriya's arm-

💕BakuDeku First Kiss 💕
FanFic Summary: BKDK first kiss head cannon, Kacchan + Deku have feelings for each other but are dumbasses and don't know how to act on them, the pair gets stuck on a corny Tunnel of Love ride that Class 1B built for the school's annual festival. Easy peasy lemon squeezy content for funsies. Scroll down to enjoy! :)
Tumblr media
Ok but imagine:
Katsuki and Izuku's first kiss is at the school festival in their third year. Izuku convinces Katsuki to go on the "Tunnel of Love" ride that Class 1B has put together for the school, saying he wants to support all of their friends from the class. Katsuki has been looking for an excuse to be alone with Deku for literal months and so he agrees (even though a "tunnel of love" is the dumbest nerd shit he has ever heard of).
Katsuki begrudgingly asks Kirishima to cause a distraction while he and Izuku get on the ride (because he'll be damned if anyone from class 1A sees him getting mushy with the green haired hero <spoiler alert - the entire class knows DK + BK have the hots for each other>).
Eijiro Kirishima of course agrees to help because he's an amazing friend and has a soft spot for romance. He enlists Denki Kaminari's help and obviously they do something ridiculously over the top and stupid. Picture Kirishima giving a speech about how manly romance is and it distracts everyone in line for the Tunnel of Love. Meanwhile Kaminari messes with the electrical system.
Katsuki and Izuku awkwardly hop into one of those cheesy swan boats and sail straight into the tunnel while Class 1B and the rest of the school are too focused on Kirishima + Kaminari to be any the wiser.
The ride breezes the boat through badly painted scenes from classic RomComs - How Harry Met Sally, While You Were Sleeping, You've Got Mail... Making matters worse, the whole thing is set to a cringe playlist of 80s and 90s love songs and it's all so over the top and cheesy and Katsuki WANTS. TO. DIE.
That is, until he looks over and sees Izuku admiring the scenery and taking everything in with a look of amazement. "Our classmates are just so talented, aren't they? They built this entire thing just using their quirks and elbow grease." And Katsuki just can't stop staring at the guy beside him. Deku is so pure and good and so utterly full of light. Once upon a time, that trait had pissed Katsuki the hell off. But now...now it's something he finds deeply endearing.
The ride slows down and comes to an abrupt stop in front of a giant cardboard heart painted sloppily with the words "Will You Be Mine?"
The lights flicker and spark before shutting off, plunging the scene into complete darkness. The music comes to a stop as well, silence resounding through the narrow tunnel. It only takes a second for Kacchan to realize that Kaminari and his overzealous electrification is likely to blame.
Damn Kirishima. I told him not to get Sparky involved. Katsuki thinks bitterly, standing up in the boat to look around for an exit. Everything is pitch black.
The boat rocks uncertainly beneath his feet, and he feels Izuku's hand grasp his own. The green haired hero slowly pulls Katsuki back into his seat. "Be careful Kacchan - you're going to tip us into the water! This boat doesn't seem so sturdy."
Katsuki grudgingly sits down. The damn nerd's probably right. He blushes when he notices that Izuku hasn't let go of his hand.
"You know, Kacchan, I was really surprised when you agreed to go on this ride with me. It really doesn't seem your style." He hears caution in Izuku's voice. The damn nerd isn't going to force him to move faster than he's ready to. They both know there is a mutual attraction between them, but neither have been ready to act on it until now.
Maybe it's the horrifically corny magic of Class 1B's Tunnel of Love. Or maybe it's the comfort of the total darkness surrounding them. Whatever it is - Katsuki suddenly feels brave enough to make a move.
"I knew those nerds from Class 1B wouldn't be able to pull this off. I figured this death trap would kill you - and I can't have you die before I have a chance to surpass you." Bakugo is cringing at his own words. He has zero rizz.
"I appreciate it." Izuku says, giving his hand a squeeze. Bakugo's heart starts beating double time, and his nerves are pissing him off.
"Listen, Deku. Let's drop the bullshit. Can I just kiss you already?" His face is beat red, but luckily Izuku can't see it.
Izuku's hand goes slack in surprise. Oh, shit. Katsuki panicks - has he read this entire situation wrong?!
"Ok this is stupid - forget I said anything dumbass!" Katsuki roughly pulls his hand away from Izuku, moving to stand up. This boat can go straight to hell, and he has no problem walking through a few feet of water to get away from this damn nightmare.
But just as he's getting up to leave - Izuku's hand reaches out and grabs him again in a vice-like grip. He pulls Katsuki roughly back into his seat.
"Kacchan..." Izuku reaches out blindly with both hands until he manages to find Katsuki's chin. His fingers feel more calloused than Katsuki would have imagined, toughened up from years of hero training. Once Izuku manages to find his friend, he slowly brings their faces together, fumbling a little in the dark. Izuku manages to kiss the corner of Katsuki's mouth, but with a little teamwork they adjust and find each other.
It's a slow kiss, and it's sweet. Izuku's mouth is softer than Katsuki could have ever imagined and the feel of it leaves him shaky. When Katsuki doesn't pull away, Izuku gains more confidence, his fingers moving to thread into the explosion hero's thick blond hair. The touch has Katsuki seeing stars - no one has ever caressed him so intimately.
Within minutes, he's trying to pull Izuku into his lap. He grips his friend's waist as he kisses him fiercely. Years of tension and unsaid words spur them on, causing their lips to collide again and again until...the lights snap back on.
Izuku and Katsuki are left blinking numbly as the gooey Spotify playlist starts up again. With a lurch, the swan boat starts moving forward again. The two scramble, trying to regain their composure as the end of the ride nears. Izuku climbs sheepishly out of Katsuki's lap, and Katsuki furiously tries to get his hair back to normal. Both are blushing like mad - they can barely look at each other.
A few moments later, the ride comes to an end. The swan boat moves jerkily back into the sunlight, and TetsuTetsu greets them with a grin at the exit. Katsuki groans internally - he has no doubts that Kirishima filled TetsuTetsu in on their plans.
"Sorry about the technical difficulties, looks like we had a little bit of electrical trouble." He says good-naturedly, swinging a wooden plank around to connect their boat to land. Izuku shakily exits the boat, walking lightly across the board.
"Thanks TetsuTetsu. Appreciate it." Izuku walks quickly through the exit, trying to hide the blush on his freckled face.
"Anytime bro." TetsuTetsu waves Izuku off, then turns to face Katsuki. "Enjoy the ride?" He says with a wink.
"Like hell I did!" Katsuki grunts, crosses the plank and pushing TetsuTetsu roughly to the side. He chases after Izuku but the festival is too crowded - the green haired nerd is nowhere to be found. "Damn."
Immediately, he feels his phone buzz in the pocket of his jeans. He fumbles to pull it out, seeing a text from Deku blinking across the screen. With shaking fingers, he opens the message and drinks in two quick sentences: Meet me in the dorms. Let's finish what we started.
Katsuki grins stupidly despite himself. "That damn nerd."
He makes a beeline for the 1A dorm building.

I'm really, really, really excited to announce you that I'm currently working with my beloved and talented friend @merrymonkey on an illustrated fanfic of Aizawa, starting from his U.A. days and moving into the present when he's the homeroom teacher of class 1A.
This is gonna be kind of long, we hope you enjoy the ride. 💖
Our Hero Academy
Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Pairing: Shota Aizawa x female OC
Genre: Shota Aizawa X female OC fluff, angst, high school romance, friends to lovers
Words: 2k
Summary: 15 years ago, Eraser Head was starting his hero studies with his best friends Hizashi and Oboro. Contrary to what people think, his teenage years in the U.A. were bright and lovely, filled with the laughter of his best friends and his girlfriend's unconditional love. What happened over the years? What changed him into a gloomy sensei?
Extra note: You can totally picture Y/N in the OC female name, it's just that it'd be cute to read Aizawa calling her pet names. 🤍
Chapter 1 - Welcome to the U.A.
On the first day of school, the UA’s enormous doors opened earlier than usual. Some teachers, the kindest ones, had come out to welcome the new students. Some of them already knew each other, having grown up in the same neighborhood and lucky enough to be in the same high school class. Such was the case with Hizashi Yamada, Oboro Shirakumo, and Shouta Aizawa.
While the first two talked quite loudly, drawing the attention of anyone who passed by, the last one was not only almost asleep but also remarkably quiet, he looked like a calm boy, someone who didn't look for trouble.
Starting with Hizashi, he was a tall and slim boy with blond hair, which he wore spiked upwards. His eyes were covered with some pretty cool sunglasses, and it was very common to see him with a large smile on his face. Hizashi had an eccentric personality, almost like a radio host. He even often posed when he talked and maintained a certain level of excitement or volume, regardless of the situation. Though he tended to be a jovial individual, Hizashi was capable of great rage, but that wasn't really common to occur, for he was the typical extroverted and popular guy.
Meanwhile, Oboro's light blue wavy hair was his charm, as well as his adorable and bright personality. He usually wore an expression of excitement. Very prone to making jokes and witty comments with innuendos, his energetic and goofy personality was similar to that of Hizashi, although Oboro never quite reached his friend's excitement. Due to his extravagant behavior, he was not the type of person who followed protocol and had little sense of shame, hence just as he was walking with his friends, he closed his uniform shirt as if he were in his room.
Finally, behind came the third of them, Shouta Aizawa. He was a slender and tall, tanned-skinned boy with messy, shoulder-length black hair, that partially hung in front of his face and half-opened black eyes. His worn-out appearance made him often look fatigued, especially because of his tired eyes. He was a very stern and reserved person; actually, he often came off as cold and apathetic, someone who preferred to take naps in every possible place over any other activity. Although quiet, the young hero student was very vocal and bold when expressing his ideas, which lead him to only had two friends. Despite his apathetic traits, he genuinely cared about his friends and was willing to do anything for them. In fact, he had already done it, he had already gotten into more than one problem because of Hizashi and Oboro. Shouta often grinned and even made jokes about his friends' eccentric personalities. Although it was more common to see him serious or rather shy.
While Hizashi spoke, or rather, he shouted expressing his immense emotion, Oboro adjusted his uniform. To tell the truth, it seemed that he was getting dressed, because now he was buttoning up his shirt.
“Do you really have to do that while we walk among so many people?” Aizawa asked.
“I didn't have time to get dressed. If you hadn't held us up for wanting to rescue that cat, I'd have been able to do it, so now you suck it up." He said with a mischievous smile as he tried to find his belt inside his backpack.
“Do you think they assign us the same section? I want us to be classmates again." Hizashi commented when they were already walking through the main gates.
Aizawa listened to Oboro's answer until something else completely stole his attention. Sitting on a bench next to a window, a girl was waiting for the doors of the academy's auditorium to open so that the professors could give them the welcome speech.
He was not the type of individual who paid special attention to admiring another person's beauty, he had had beautiful classmates at high school, and he had even seen some very pretty girls entering the academy, however, none of them had got to awake something on him, as it had happened to Oboro and Hizashi and their numerous dates.
Yet, that girl just a few steps away had taken his breath away. Aizawa cut the conversation with his friends because, for a few seconds, he couldn't do anything else but admire that short girl with long, wavy pastel pink hair tied in a braid. She had been nervously playing with a pink hair tie while waiting to enter the auditorium. Suddenly, a gust of wind made her look at the branches of a tree through the window, allowing Aizawa to see a bit more of her face.
Possibly due to Aizawa's piercing stare, she realized someone was looking at her, and turning around, she discovered him. Her lovely and expressive green eyes were now fixed on the young man's black eyes. His usual tired gaze switched to a wide-eye one by noticing an undeniable sparkle in the girl's look. Such interaction struck Aizawa to the core; it was so overwhelming, that he was about to break that eye contact. Luckily, he did not do it and did not miss the kind but shy and fleeting smile that the girl gave him. Shota couldn't smile back not because he didn't want to, but because he simply couldn't, he just froze. Naturally, when the girl saw that the guy didn't even react back, she looked away from him and had to force herself to think of something else; otherwise, the auto cringe would have made her leave the place.
"You okay, bro? Are you that nervous? Your face's red." Oboro said looking at his friend, but Aizawa just shook his head.
"Let's go in, the doors are already open." Aizawa replied without forgetting the girl's smile.
He wasn't the typical guy who got a lot of smiles or kind looks, perhaps because his eyes were usually on the ground, or because his gaze was a tired one, not precisely a cordial one. Whatever the reason, it was not common for him to receive such a kind facial expression like that. All his life he was used to Hizashi and Oboro turning out to be the ones who stole peeks and received compliments. To tell the truth, Aizawa had never minded that since social interactions were not his thing at all.
Yet, he did not have time to think more about it, the professor who welcomed them had already started with his talk. He explained to the students how the academy worked and how they would be assigned to a class. That was how that day, once again fate wanted Aizawa, Oboro, and Hizashi to be together in the same class. Though that was not the only surprise. When they entered the room, Aizawa saw the girl again; apparently, the four of them would study together from now on.
Tumblr media
That was how they spent the first days at the UA. The professional heroes didn't give them a break, it was training after training, in addition to master classes, of course. Knowing and trusting each one's quick was a must to survive the UA classes; therefore, Aizawa was definitely not having a good time. Meanwhile, Hizashi and Oboro not only controlled theirs better, but they also felt comfortable with their powers and were confident that they would become excellent heroes. However, the shy young man constantly doubted his ability, and when possible, he trained alone so as not to slow anyone down. But that changed the second week when one of the teachers asked them to pair up for the next lesson in one of the many training camps.
"Okay, this is it! I'll ask Hoshino to work with me!" Oboro said, adjusting his uniform and referring to the pink-haired girl, who turned out to be very quiet and introverted. Even though she had all her classmates drooling over her from the first day, she was always alone and studying in her spare time in the library.
"Don't even dream about it, Oboro, I'll ask her," Hizashi replied. "You are very noisy, she won't want to be your partner."
“What the fuck, Hizashi!? You scream instead of talking! Besides, you'll scare her, you're too aggressive."
"I'm not aggressive!"
"And you're not very bright either, why would the best of the class want to work with you?"
Aizawa, for his part, chuckled upon hearing his friends and continued tying his shoelaces. In the meantime, Hizashi and Oboro were so focused on arguing among themselves that they didn't realize when the girl approached where they were.
Thus, she touched the least expected person's shoulder and spoke. “Hi... Hum, excuse me, would you mind if we worked together? I've seen your quirk and I think we could make a good team.” As determined as she was to train with him, there was a hint of shyness in her voice.
"WHAT THE HELL?!" Oboro and Hizashi asked looking at how she had chosen Aizawa as her partner.
Although the two outgoing boys had come to her since day one to introduce themselves, Aizawa hadn't said a word, preferring to stay behind. So, her proposal was quite unexpected for everyone, especially for Aizawa, who looked at her as if hoping that she would realize that she was speaking to HIM and not to his friends.
"I see... you already have a partner, I'm sorry." Wishing that the earth would swallow her, the girl was about to disappear, she didn't do it only because Oboro was faster and prevented her.
"No, he doesn't have one! It's just that Aizawa's very shy." Oboro replied as Hizashi practically pushed his friend to his feet.
“Did you hear that, Shota? You'll be able to work with the best of the class!” The blonde said.
"Are you sure you want to work with me?"
"Come on, Shota, don't be so humble, your quirk's awesome!" Hizashi said pushing him to such an extent that the young black-haired man almost lost his balance.
That was how Aizawa and the girl ended up teaming up together. The mission they had been given to train was to enter the forest that surrounded the UA and find a hidden bomb as quickly as possible. For that, they would have the whole class, for the terrain was huge.
All the way Aizawa was wondering the same thing. "Why does she want to work with me?" The girl had passed the entrance exam with the highest score, and despite only taking two weeks of classes, all her teachers had already recognized her as the best of her generation.
“So, you erase quirks with your gaze…" The girl said, interrupting Aizawa's analysis. "That's so cool! You have one of the best powers I've ever seen.”
“The effect lasts until I blink. It's not very useful."
"Have you tried using eye drops? That way your eyes will be moisturized, and you can train them for a longer use of your quirk. Maybe they'll be a little dry, but at least they won't hurt afterward."
Aizawa remained silent, contemplating the option that the girl gave him; truth be told, she made a lot of sense. After some minutes of walking in silence, the boy talked. “What about your quirk? Can you manipulate any kind of energy? If so, you have unlimited potential."
"It's not that easy." She responded by shaking her head. “When I transform energy, I use my own. The more energy I manipulate, the less I have left to fight. Also, it's not unlimited, quite the opposite. If I intend to control some type of energy, I first must know it thoroughly, know how it works, and what risks can come."
"That's why she studies so much..." Aizawa thought.
“If I don't know the type of energy, or if I convert more than what my body resists, things don't end well. It's happened a couple of times and it hasn't been nice." She confessed somewhat embarrassed. "That's why I think we could make a good team, you could give me a hand if things get messy."
"You barely know me, are you going to trust me that much?"
"I saw how you helped your friend when we floated higher than expected."
The girl giggled remembering how during one of the first practices, Oboro used one of his clouds to float. He was just bragging; yet, thanks to the wind, the cloud flew higher and quicker. It was Aizawa who controlled the situation by erasing his quirk and helping him get back to earth.
"Oh, you saw that..." He whispered just about to laugh. Not even Shota could deny how funny it was to see Oboro fall over Hizashi.
"How not to? Your other friend, the blond one, kept yelling at the cloud guy to get off of him."
"Yeah, that's kind of common when it comes to Hizashi and Oboro."
"Well, we'd better hurry if we want to find that bomb first."
The dynamic between the two students turned out to be quite good, not only did they complete the mission successfully, but they also had time to get to know each other a little better, because by finishing before all the other groups, they had almost an hour free. Thus, sitting on some rocks on the banks of a river, Shota discovered that her family lived in the countryside and that to pursue her dream of becoming a hero, she had moved to the city alone. The academy had dormitories for students with similar situations, so she had no problem finding a place to live. That short interaction was enough for Aizawa to judge her as a nice and extremely sweet girl.
Without knowing how or why, she quickly felt comfortable with Aizawa, so much so that she made a couple of jokes and even imitated him. Apparently, in that week the young heroine had analyzed him enough to discover several of his habits.
“You have a lot of free time in class.” The boy commented unable to avoid laughing just a little when he saw her imitating the way he yawned.
“The first week has been calmer than I imagined.”
“That's because you're talented. I barely approved the physical performance exams.”
Once again, the girl started to play with her hair tie, anyone could tell she was struggling to decide if saying what she was thinking or remaining silent. In the end, she mustered some courage and dared to say it. “We could train together in the afternoons.”
Aizawa raised his gaze and looked at her as if looking for any sign that he had listened wrong. “YOU are going to train with me? You, the number one in the class?”
“I also need to train, and I think we could complement ourselves. I mean... our quirks." She corrected herself while blushing.
Aizawa was the first classmate she actively approached and, to tell the truth, it had been hard for her to summon up the courage to speak to him. Judging by his actions during those two weeks of classes, it was highly possible that he would say no. After all, Shota hardly talked with his two friends, why would he say yes to training with her?
"I mean, it's just an idea. But if you already train with someone else, that's fine." She said feeling how her face was turning even more red.
Noticing that he was making her feel uncomfortable, Aizawa reacted. “It's not what you're thinking. Honestly, I didn't expect you to want to team up with me. You caught me off guard."
Understanding that it wasn't that he was rejecting her, but that this was all very unexpected for him, she felt less embarrassed. “I'm not very good at making friends and many of our classmates already knew each other. Besides…. You seem like a very trustworthy person and your quirk is wonderful. I'm sorry, I think I already told you this a dozen times.” She said between a shy giggling.
The black-haired hero looked at her for a few moments. "She's really cute. No wonder why Hizashi and Oboro say it all the time."
"Well, I don't want to put you on the spot. If one day you have some free time, we could train together, Aizawa.” She said getting up, it was time to meet up with the rest of the class.
"Shota, call me Shota."
“My name's Kaori. Thanks for working with me today, Shota.” She responded with a sweet smile.

Yes, Ochako's character is more isolated than Bakugou and Todoroki
This is a sort of sequel to my old post about trying to analyze Horikoshi's female characters (no need to read it, tho, you can read this new post without).
In that post I was left with the question of how much Horikoshi isolates Ochako vs other characters.
Let me explain. (btw this post considers events up till chapter 354)
The main characters of MHA (in number and order of panels counted/presence) are Deku (of course), Bakugou, All Might, Todoroki, Shigaraki, Ochako and Iida. When we consider the class 1A, what I noticed is that many male characters (even less present, like Tokoyami and Kirishima) have important "outside" relationships, in particular mentorships. This is absent in all female characters but Ochako and Tsuyu, but for them this mentoship is almost overlooked. There is really no emotional moment that we can see between them and Ryukyu, and even during their "main arc", the big interaction we have is actually between Ochako and Nighteye (Deku's mentor).
I also sometimes receive some comments that tells me that "every character revolves around Deku, Ochako is no different than Bakugou and Todoroki". This is true, all of them (and Iida) revolve around Deku, but I always felt like Ochako never had the "freedom" to interact with the rest of the class when Deku was not involved.
Here some examples before I post a graph!
Ochako interacts mainly with Mina and Tsuyu, but many of these interactions seem to be about Deku (ex. Mina teasing her about the crush). I wanted to know if this is a common occurrence for all the main characters, or if Horikoshi really does allow Ochako to interact mainly when the stuff revolves around Deku.
To do so I collected all the interactions between Bakugou, Todoroki and Ochako (taken separately) and some of the main class 1a characters: Kirishima, Iida, Kaminari, Sero, Mina, Momo, Jirou and each others. For Ochako I also collected the interaction with Tsuyu and Toga.
Keep in mind that I was very generous in defining interactions. For example, Todoroki and Bakugou getting their license through multiple pages of their arcs has been counted as 1 interaction, comparable to Mina and Ochako being drawn together in a background panel. Or Bakugou vs Uraraka has been counted as 1 interaction. So I do not distinguish the importance of each interactions, I just count how many times Horikoshi decide to associate a character with another.
I also undercounted a bit the Uraraka&Bakugou, Kirishima&Bakugou and the Todoroki&Bakugou because I counted them a year ago more or less, so I might have been more strict.
My ideal thing would be, when I reread MHA, to catalogue all main characters' interactions to see if Horikoshi really does isolate Ochako. Also because we have Bakugou and Todoroki interacting a lot outside the class, while Ochako rarely is allowed to.
Returning to the current post, here is an example, I did my best to collect all the interactions but of course I might have missed/undercounted some, apologies:
Tumblr media
As you can see, after counting the interactions I catalogued some as "involving Deku". For example, in the third scene we have Ochako speaking up to get Deku in UA. I counted it as Tsuyu, Iida, Kaminari and Kirishima interacting with Ochako (even if Kirishima and Kaminari just look at her), but involving Deku.
These are some examples:
Tumblr media
And these were the results.
Tumblr media
It is a bit messy, so let me explain. Each group of columns is called with a character name. In the first group we have "Kaminari". In orange we have the percentage of Bakugou & Kaminari interaction that were about Deku, in blue the % of Kaminari and Todoroki interactions that were about/involing Deku, in pink the % of Ochako and Kaminari interactions that involved Deku.
As you can see, in ALL cases, Ochako's interactions always had a higher % of involving Deku. She is also the only character were in many cases more than HALF the interactions she has with other characters are about Deku.
In Sero's case, for example, I counted 6 interactions and the pink bar (Ochako) is 100% as they were all about Deku. These interactions were:
Sero and Ochako finding Deku during the license exam after Toga (as Camnie) run
Sero and Ochako strategizing with Deku during the license exam
Ochako calling for Deku and Sero during the license exam
Deku looking at Ochako and Sero dancing after passing the exam
Sero and the others welcoming Deku, Ochako, Kirishima and Tsuyu after Overhaul
Sero, Tsuyu and Ochako helping Deku training
Just in case you were wondering if these % are simply because Ochako has so many more moments with other characters that Horikoshi puts half of them into the "about Deku"...
This is the total.
Tumblr media
In general Ochako is much less present in the manga. She has more interactions with Mina than Bakugou and Todoroki, and with Tsuyu I suspect (I did not count the Bkg and Todoroki data for Tsuyu).
So yeah, while I agree that all characters revolve around Deku, I feel like the other protagonists are allowed to have meaningful and just more interactions with the class that do not involve or revolve around Deku himself, sometimes with even small arcs or important scenes (ex. Bakugou hyping up Kirishima, Todoroki & Bakugou license arc).

Title: Here Forever (Under my Umberella)
Rating: T
Words: 1,766
Summary:
Deku whipped his head around and bit out between clenched teeth, “WHAT did you just say?”
One of the girls at the 2nd year business course table, brave enough to face Deku’s fury said, "It’s going to be hard for the public to be assured with Bakugou around. Especially watching how he acts with his friends, it’s clear he doesn’t care about others.”
Izuku can feel his blood pressure rise. How could they say that about Kacchan? How could anyone think he didn’t care?
Deku can’t leave it alone. No one insults Kacchan like that.
He stands from his seat.
——-
Basically, Deku doesn’t like it when people bad mouth Kacchan. And you most certainly shouldn’t do it when he’s around to hear you.

This mini training arc is meant to justify why the first year UA hero students fared so well against the second and third year hero students in the provisional licensing exam arc.
What I'm not sure about is why Aizawa planned this before the end of All Might's hero career. He had no way of knowing All Might's career would end in the next year. Was it just an assumption based on the LOV targeting Class 1A once at USJ? This seems like a big leap in logic because their target was clearly All Might. And this training was obviously planned before what happened to Izuku at the mall.
After All Might fell, no one was going to bat an eye about bringing in some first years a bit early for their provisional licenses. But without Kamino, would Aizawa have even been permitted to do this?

this might be unhinged, but I figured out that at the beginning of that manga (Year Class 1A entered UA/All the events up to and including Deika), Shigaraki Tomura’s Birthday (4/4) likely occurred either on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday.
In Chapter 7, All Might confronts Aizawa on the first day of classes, and he says that “April Fool’s was a week ago.”
Tumblr media
Of course, it doesn’t absolutely mean All Might meant it exactly one week ago, but still. With this information, let’s say the first day was on April 8.
April 8 can either be on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. This is because Chapters 5 to 12 covers three school days consecutively. First day was Aizawa’s test; Second day was Battle Training; Third day was when the media rushed the school.
Tumblr media
The first day can’t be earlier than a Monday. The third day can’t be later than a Friday. Thus, those first three days of school, April 8 to 10, can only be Monday-to-Wednesday, Tuesday-to-Thursday, or Wednesday-to-Friday.
This means that Shigaraki’s 20th Birthday on April 4, four days before April 8, could only be on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday.
*
The end of Chapter 11 is when we first meet Shigaraki Tomura, who starts plotting ‘What if I kill All Might’, and this was on the evening of the day of the Battle Training (April 9).
Tumblr media
Immediately the next day (April 10), on the morning of that third day with the media frenzy, Shigaraki Tomura is there at UA to disintegrate the gates.
Tumblr media
*
The USJ invasion would be the next week, on a Wednesday.
Tumblr media
It could not have been on the same first week of school because, as above, the first week’s Wednesday was either occupied by Aizawa’s test, battle training, or media frenzy. USJ invasion must happen in the second week of school, on dates April 15th, 16th or 17th.

Izuku takes his shirt hem between his fingers, pulling nervously, a childish habit he never really got rid of. What am I supposed to say? he thinks. Sorry, but everytime I close my eyes I think that you’re dead?
“Rain,” he replies lamely, the same answer in not so many words.
(Izuku can’t sleep and he can’t forgive himself).

hado nejire x reader
warnings: growing apart, unrequited feelings, abandonment, non-descriptive self-harm, lesbians (the horror!)
a/n: there's a bit of time skipping in this, so i’ve labeled things as their verses in the songs and the years (1, 2, and 3A) + semesters of high school they took place in. is nejire adhd/autistic coded? i cant tell, maybe its because i see the way she is as my normal (adhd) that i cant tell. i'm basing her personality strongly off the wiki bc she really hasn't had that much air time.

Verse 1 - First Semester 1A
You and Nejire met on your first day of high school, class 1A. Both of you had quirks that were more powerful than the rest of the girls in your class, assuming that the two of you thought that you were superior to them and were already looking down on them, they took initiative and distanced themselves from you at the start. This left the two of you with only two options, have no friends, be a lonely outcast for the foreseeable future, or become friends. Obviously, it was an easy choice, and it was nice that the two of you got along well, and probably would have become friends even if you weren’t put in that unfortunate social situation.
She was a blunt girl, not really knowing when it was the appropriate time, if at all, to say something that she wanted to say. She often ended up saying things that were accidentally hurtful, though if you let her know, she would instantly feel remorseful and apologize incessantly. She wasn’t always sure how to make a joke, often her attempts falling flat, but she was bright, and cheery, and had so much knowledge that she longed to share. You couldn’t help but find yourself smiling at her as you listened to her ramble about the newest thing, she learned that week on national geographic.
One day, in the middle of your first year, she asked you how to be funny. You were taken aback, and asked her back, “you think I’m funny?” She nodded with a small smile.
You contemplated on how you should respond to her difficultly abstract question, “I don’t think that’s something you can teach.”
She looked down, her smile falling off her face sent a pang of guilt to your heart. You quickly tried to backtrack, “I think you’re funny though Hado! You’re constantly making me smile and laugh!”. Her eyes met yours, a furrow forming on her brow, you stammered on, “Maybe not everyone thinks you’re funny, but I think that’s true for everyone! You just got to find the people that do think you’re funny and like being around you… like me.” You held eye contact with her despite the bright flush that made its way to your cheeks, ask if you were trying to transfer your conviction over to her. She brushed off your almost confession with a giggle and a change of topic.
Chorus 1- Second Semester 2A
As you both aged, Nejire started to get more notice than you. Not that you were jealous, you being too enamored with her to care, no, you were just happy that she was getting the recognition you thought she so obviously deserved. It did sting though, when she would turn down your invitations for afterschool dates poorly vailed by you as hangouts. She needed to train though, she would say, and dismiss you with a “next time, okay y/n?”
Sometimes as you left the school building on your way home you would take the long way, past the training fields to watch her for a little bit, training with two boys from your class. You wondered why she didn’t ask you to train with her, to help her. You would never ask though, far too afraid of the answer that seemed to be pulling at the hem of your shirt, demanding your attention. She’s just focusing on training, it’s not like she suddenly stopped liking you. It’s not like she wanted to stop being your friend. It’s not like she was purposely ignoring you. Right?
Verse 2- Third Semester 1A
The two of you were sitting in a cafe after school, one that Nejire had shown you a picture of on Pinterest and said the two of you had to go for their cute specialty foods. You had gotten a parfait, the cream on top having been manipulated into the shape of a cat, Nejire got a jasmine tea latte, the art in the foam had her swooning and whipping out her phone to snap pictures of it in multiple angles as she told you about her Pinterest page’s aesthetic, you listened along, slightly confused at the idea of people posting on Pinterest like it was a social media but not questioning it. After she had taken enough pictures of both her and your orders, the two of you started on your treats, she took a long sip from her latte and when she placed it back down on the table, she had suddenly grown a distinguished mustache made of foam. It made you smile so hard your cheeks hurt, trying to keep your laugher a courteous volume to the other patrons was exceedingly difficult as she didn’t seem to notice her new facial accessory and was looking at you very confused. In spite of your shakes of laughter you managed to raise a shaky hand to point at your upper lip, signaling to her what you had found so funny. She raised a finger to her top lip, touching the foam and then pulled it back to see what was on her face. Realizing what she had done, her face blushed a warm pink as she quickly grabbed her napkin to wipe it away. You had finally calmed down and noticed that she had missed a little bit on the far edge.
“Nejire, you still have some,” you told her and pointed on yourself where it was on her, picked the napkin back up and scrubbed at her face, but on the wrong side.
“No, other side,” you specified. She again rubbed at her face with the now crumpled napkin but somehow still managed to miss the small smudge of foamed milk.
Not thinking, you rose and leaned across the table, before wiping the white away with your thumb. You sat back down, and without a thought in your head, licked it off of your thumb.
You noticed her face flush, even more than before, now a hot red; you realized the suggestiveness of what you had just done, and at the same time, felt an explosion of butterflies manifest themselves into your gut.
She tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, looking down with a slight smile on her face, and you reddened.
The two of you sat in silence for a while before she broke it.
“Do you think I’m pretty?”
You didn’t think before you responded.
“Yes.” You hesitated and then added on, “I think you’re really beautiful.”
The two of you fell back into silence.
The purgatory of not knowing how the two of you felt about each other was horrible, but the fear of rejection, not just of a confession but of you as a person, rejecting your identity, kept you in your place.
There really was no winning.
Chorus 2- First Semester 3A
It hurt, seeing her every day, but not being able to talk to her about anything and everything in the way that you had grown used to. She was part of the big 3 now, she was revered by everyone now, she was strong and kind and smart and now they were all seeing what you had from the start. It was selfish of you, you knew, but you wish they hadn't noticed.
She wasn’t being purposefully cruel in her withdrawal from you, she wasn’t doing it to be mean, she had just forgotten, she had just been stretched too thin and something had to go. It was still mean though, and it was still cruel.
You felt the loneliest now, so much so it was almost incomparable. Your days now spent in silence, and slowly falling into the motions. School, train, sleep, school, train, sleep, school, train, sleep. With nothing to break the monotony, life became dull, and you were sinking into a different kind of blue, not the blue of an eye like you did when you first saw Hado Nejire, but into the blue of the mind, getting darker, muddier, harder to see what’s in front of you.
You became more reckless, not in retaliation but due to a slow building and concerning lack of self-preservation. Often throwing yourself into dangerous positions with villains, jumping solo into fights, you had no probability of winning alone, asking for more and more hours at your internship. It kept it at bay for a little while, the numbness, but as with most things, it did not last. You feared you were slowly but surely becoming a shell of your former self.
You needed something more, you needed to keep yourself feeling, needed to keep yourself human, needed to keep yourself. So, you resorted to means you probably shouldn’t have. Flame, blade, burns, blood. You knew it wasn’t healthy, but it was something.
On an especially hot September day it was odd to see students wearing their long-sleeved winter uniforms, but not enough to raise many questions. One girl asked, “Aren’t you hot?”, but you brushed it off, explaining that you just ran cold. A bold-faced lie to anyone who knew you, but none of them did.
As you were working on your lesson book, Hado Nejire walked past your desk on her way to the front of the room, glancing down at you, maybe out of habit, she got a glance of lines of damaged skin, some already faded, but many varying degrees of red. She faltered in her step, double taking, confused as to what she was seeing. Not wanting to cause a scene in class or be caught staring, she almost seamlessly continued walking, and if one hadn’t been watching her, they wouldn’t have noticed her split second reel.
She stopped you by the door after class, and when you tried to scoot by her, thinking she wasn’t aware she was in the doorway, she blocked its entirety with her body, staring you down. She grabbed you by the hand and led you to an unused stairwell as you stumbled behind her hastened pace. You didn’t notice it at the time, but she was especially careful when grabbing you, fearing that she would take hold somewhere that would cause you pain, fearing to reopen possible wounds.
There was a furrow in your brow as you looked at her, wordlessly questioned why she had dragged you there. She turned your arm over, her hand still holding yours, and gently raised your crisp white sleeve, a gasp of dismay escaping her lips as her eyes raked over your battered arm. She dropped your hand only to quickly grab your other one, pulling the sleeve of that arm up too. You were watching her face as she grit her teeth at the sight, her eyebrows pushed into an expression you didn’t know, one you had never seen before even after all the years you had known her. Her head turned and her eyes met yours, weirdly, you thought, they were filled with tears.
“Why?”
This pushed some button you did not know you had, and an unexpected, hot rage filled you.
“What do you mean, Hado?” you did not spit her name, but she flinched as if it was filled with venom.
“Y/n…” she trailed off. You remained silent, seething.
“This isn’t like you, why would you do this?”
You didn’t answer her for a long time before sighing, “You wouldn’t know Hado, you haven’t spoke to me in well over 5 months.”
“I’m sorry, I-” her words almost a whimper, but you interrupted her.
“Please, don’t. I don’t think I can stomach it Hado, I think, whatever you’re going to say next, will only make things worse.”
She clamped her mouth shut, her lips in a pale line, and nodded tearfully, before choking out an “okay”.
Things didn’t change much after that, though she was more watchful of you, you could, at times, feel her eyes boring into you from across the classroom or training halls and fields, and you started feeling a little different, slowing down in your efforts to drive away the numbness, as the numbness seemed to seep away from you. Less and less, you found yourself feeling as if there was nowhere else to go with a knife in your grasp.
You also no longer prayed that she would make time for you, disillusioning yourself, and realizing that she was not perfect, though feelings as strong as yours don’t just simply disappear due to disillusionment.
Verse 3- Third Semester 3A
Her hair had been burnt off, now in a blunt bob, and what once had been marred and blistered skin was now just slightly tinged pink. It still hurt you to see though, quietly observing. She was different now, bolder, more self-assured, Maybe, you mused, something had been burnt off along with her hair. You were different now too though, you were better. You had sought counseling, speaking to the trusted hero you were interning under, and they helped you find and utilize resources to mitigate your mental health. You felt lighter, you were still lonely, but you were now a little bit more at peace with your solitude, and less afraid to put yourself out there, slowly becoming friends with the sidekicks at your internship who were just a couple years your senior.
Chorus 3- After Graduation
Sometimes you would see her on TVs in coffee shops, or in ads in magazines, though if you looked you could find yourself too, maybe not as often, but still there. Both of you were making a name for yourselves in the hero world.
You had started dating a pretty sidekick from your agency, she was one of the first people you had befriended when you started putting in the effort to get better, she had been there for you through many bad nights, and many more good ones. You really, truly loved her. And yes, sometimes you would miss your first love, but not in a way of current longing, but for a past. You would never leave your girlfriend though, even if you got the chance to go back, even if they told you everything would turn out the way you had begged and hoped and dreamt. Those were no longer your dreams.
It was in line at a coffee shop that you ran into her. She looked nice, more mature, gracefully slipping into her early 20’s, face less youthful, but still bright with a smile.
The two of you chatted as you waited for your orders to be taken, and continued afterwards, as you waited for them to be made.
She was direct in her flirting, touching your arm, complementing you, laughing a little too much at things that weren’t that funny. You did not reciprocate. 5 years ago, if she had been doing what she was doing now, you would have been over the moon, indescribably happy, but now, you didn’t feel much of anything at all. You were flattered, maybe a bit annoyed, but the feelings were so watered down, so muted that you could barely describe them as anything. You were happy to talk to an old friend though.
“We should hang out some time,” she told you after your orders had been picked up from the counter and the two of you started towards the front doors, “go on a little afterschool date like we used to.” She smiled and winked.
You politely smiled back at her and opened your mouth to reply, when your phone started going off, the ring tone you had affectionately assigned to your girlfriend, playing.
“Oh, sorry it’s my girlfriend, let me answer real quick,” not waiting for a response from Nejire, you picked up the phone.
“Hey love, what’s up?” You inquired through the phone.
“Are you almost home yet?”
“Yeah, I just picked up your coffee from the coffee place two blocks down.”
“Oh yay! Thank you baby, see you soon, I love you.”
“I love you too.”
You ended the call and turned towards Nejire apologetically, “Sorry about that!”
You exited the shop, Nejire holding the door open for you, and stood next to her on the sidewalk, close to the building and out of the way.
“Oh!” you realized you hadn’t answered her question yet, “yeah, it would be nice to hang out and catch up.” This time, hangout had no hidden meanings or crossed fingers. It was purely platonic. “I miss you,” she confessed. Your eyebrows shot up in surprise, you were really never expecting her to say that.
“I guess things ended up differently, not the way I wanted I mean.” she clarified. “It’s hard seeing you in the news, or in my fashion magazines, but not being able to see you in person anymore. I just… miss you a lot y/n, even though you’ve not gone anywhere.”
You hmm and nod, “you’re right, I haven’t gone anywhere. That was you, Hado Nejire. I’m proud of you, you're becoming a great hero.” You smiled at her softly. She stood, unmoving, looking at you, maybe waiting for something more, but you were no longer the person who would be able to provide that.
“Well, I need to get going before all this ice melts,” you shook the iced coffee in your hands, “or my girlfriend will have my head.”
“Oh, uh, okay” she stammered.
“Message me! My numbers still the same, if you still have it. You could meet my girlfriend too, I think you’d like her, she’s amazing.”
Nejire nodded, watching your figure as you walked away, bitter jealousy and remorse making their home in her sour stomach.
Tumblr media
Hi! I know it may seem like I am romanticizing self-harm in this but I promise I am not. As it is something I have struggled with for many years I am just reflecting my own struggles and thoughts, and trying to represent a mental illness as what it is. That doesn't mean it is something you should do, and if you struggle with it and are tempted after reading, here are some healthier alternatives. Please do not hurt yourselves, lovelies.

Flirty Izuku X POC MidSized Female Reader
A/N: Self-indulgent and everyone is 3rd year. Growth spurts happened.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You decided to try your luck today and leave your hair natural for the rest of the week. You had washed your hair Sunday and were feeling lazy not wanting to put on a wig or even blow dry it and flat iron it so you just left it in its natural state. You had more than enough hair products to keep it from puffing up and frizzing up. Even though it's going to do that by the end of the day.
"Wow Y/N, your hair is so pretty!" Mina came and went to touch your hair a bit. She was one of the very few select people that can touch your hair without you catching an attitude. You took too much time to try and get it right, you refused for someone to be all touchy-feely with your hair.
"Thanks, Mina, I had to use a lot of leave-in conditioner and oils so it doesn't puff up like a peacock's tail." The two of you started talking before she got distracted by the bakusquad and she left you to walk by yourself. This allowed you to think for a bit about why you went the extra mile today. You wanted to get Izuku's attention desperately. You guys had just become third years and over the summer Izuku had a growth spurt and he went from a short powerhouse to a tall one. He was tall in your book at least. You didn't spend much time with him or the dekusquad due to internships but, you guys still would talk over the phone and do video chats.
"I like the new hair-do Y/N-chan." You turned to Tsu smiling at her. She grew a little bit too but, she was still short and was built too. She had muscles all over her body and she finally built up her courage to ask out Tokoyami. They were now considered a power couple.
"Thanks, Tsu-chan.." The two of you chatted for a bit and eventually, the rest of the Dekusquad appeared like they always did. Ochako had gotten over her crush on Izuku once she realized her advances were taking her nowhere so now she was with Tenya. Shoto started dating Camie from Shiketsu and they worked out pretty well. You and Izuku were the only single ones in the group which often you were teased about. It's not your fault Izuku was oblivious and you didn't want to ruin the precious friendship you had as a cause of feelings.
"We have half a day so, do you guys wanna go to the arcade?" Wait a damn minute you do? What day was it? You looked at your calendar and saw it was in fact Thursday meaning it was half a day for third years with internships but, the loophole was that any 3rd year can leave regardless of the reason.
"It sounds great, you in Y/N?" You turned to Izuku who spoke to you and you nodded your head. He grinned down at you turning back to the others to continue his conversation with them. You lingered in the back with Tsu talking about her internship with Selkie.
"Do you think we can head to the dorms first and change into something comfortable?" Oh yeah, you guys were all in your school uniform. Not that it was hiding how thick with muscles Izuku had gotten. Don't even get started on his scars, good lord. He also decided to get a new style and do a man bun with an undercut. The power this man holds over you and he has no idea.
"Of course doll" You faltered a bit at that glancing up at Izuku but, he continued his conversation as if he didn't just call you doll. This man. The rest of you made it to the dorms and split up. You didn't realize that everyone had gone their separate directions and it was only you and Izuku waiting for the elevator to the 6th floor. They added an extra 3 floors to the 1A dorm to allow more space for the class which was appreciated. It was 20 people so now instead of 6-7 people per floor it was 3 from floors 2-6 and the ground floor had the other 5 since it was essentially much bigger. Anyway, you Izuku, and Mineta live on the top floor. He's gotten a lot better in his mannerisms but, you still didn't like him much. Lucky for the two of you, he was literally on the other end of the hallway which was a good 2-minute walk. The elevator opened and the two of us stepped inside.
"What are you going to wear?" You turned to Izuku trying to make conversation to get rid of this flustered feeling. Normally, you're fine around him and able to hide your crush but, you were struggling. Hard.
"I was thinking of a muscle shirt with a pair of jeans. You think I'll look good with a muscle shirt." He casually flexed his arms while looking at you with a tilt of his head and a half-smirk. He would look better with those arms wrapped around you.
"I-I think you will look great. G-green is d-definitely your color." Way to play it off Y/N. Real smooth. You took a breath looking away for a second only to gasp a bit when you turned right back around. He was definitely in your personal space and you were stuck between staring him in the eyes, at his lips, or at the wall behind him
"I was thinking a little cinnamon." There goes your heart. He snatched it right out of your chest and you don't want it back. He bit his lip using his right hand to tilt your face up by your chin "Wouldn't you agree?" He looked you up and down once and before you can even think or say anything the elevator opened and he was out of your space as if nothing happened. "Aren't you coming?" He was standing in between the doors so they don't close all innocent-like. What was going on? You got off the elevator and the two of you walked side by side. You were hyperaware that he was close and brushing shoulders with you along with grazing his hands along yours. Who is this?
"I think I'm going to wear a skirt" If your thighs would allow it. He smirked but said nothing as he went into his dorm room and you went right into yours. Honestly, it wasn't too hot but you decided to be a little bold. You wore a flowy tennis-like green skirt, and black knee-high socks with black heart decor rivet thigh garter belt as accessories. You wore a white tank top with a red heart in the middle giving yourself a once-over in the mirror. You liked what you saw so slipping on a pair of black boots you opened your dorm room to see Izuku standing on the side. "Do you like it?" You posed a bit for him hoping he did like it. You normally didn't care what people thought but, his opinion mattered to you. He gave you a slow look from head to toe making you flustered again. He knew what he was doing.
"I'm jealous." You were confused what did he mean by that? You gave him a puzzled look "It's me that's supposed to be between those thighs." He looked down and you choked on air. He had the audacity to laugh and start messing with his hair making sure to show off his neck and shoulder muscles. You wiped your mouth to make sure you weren't drooling. Were you high or was Izuku actually flirting with you? "Come on babe." You tripped on nothing glad that he caught you. "Got to be more careful, don't want to mess up that pretty little face." He gripped you hard around the waist and lingered a bit even when you had your balance. He let you go at the elevator but, once inside he had you pinned. You glanced up at him confused and excited at the same time. "Let me know if I'm doing too much." It took a minute and then you realized he was doing this on purpose. Not that you were going to complain.
"You're not doing enough." Okay brain, that was not what you wanted to say. Why did your mouth speak so fast for you? The traitor. He seemed caught off guard before that sly smirk went right back on his face. Oh no.
"Good girl." He pressed his nose against your neck sniffing a bit before trailing up to your ear to blow on it. You shuddered and with a snort, he pulled away fully looking at you out the side of his eye. The two of you left the elevator to greet the others who were there. It was the dekusquad plus Tokoyami so all of you left chatting and making jokes. You noticed how Izuku would make sure you didn't linger too far behind and would make sure to always touch you. When crossing a busy intersection he would grab your hand and run across the street with you. While walking he would talk with his hands and they always landed on your neck, your shoulders, elbows, or your waist. He brushed up against your hips making you shudder. He pretended to not notice despite the light smirk he had on his face. He was going to kill you before the day was over. You made it to the arcade and all of you split up to go to different games.
"I want to try that basketball game." Izuku decided to hang out with you and you prayed he will behave. He was showing out today and you were both impressed and excited. He nodded his head following close behind you. The two of you waited in line for your turn so you decided to go on your phone to look at herogram. You were looking at food recipes wanting to show Izuku. "Look Zuzu." You thought he was going to step around you but no ma'am. He pressed himself up against you from the back, placed his left hand on your hip, and leaned over your shoulder to look.
"Yeah, beautiful." There he goes with your heart again. Trying to hide the shakiness and nervousness you showed him the videos talking softly. The two of you didn't move until it was your turn to play. The both of you had fun playing basketball and other stuff winning games here and there. You won a couple of times even though you're sure he just let you. He groaned a bit making sure to keep eye contact with you. You almost died. "Let's go get something to eat and drink I'm starving." So were you. You nodded in agreement as he grabbed your hand guiding you through the crowds. People parted for him and left room for you as well. The two of you made it to the food court and there weren't many chairs. Some spirit was out to get you, you just know it. You both got chicken tenders, French fries, and water and made it to the only spot available. It was one seat. Before you can say anything Izuku grabbed both your trays placed them on the table and sat down opening his legs a bit. He looked up at you with a cheeky smirk patting his lap.
"W-what?" You knew what he wanted and so did your body with the way you inched forward.
"Let me be your chair and sit on me." He licked his lip flicking his eyes down and back up but, you saw. You saw it dammit. You willed your legs to work and take a seat on his lap. He sat up a bit holding onto your hip with one hand and eating with another. He did it so casually the flirt. The two of you started talking about everything and anything that came to mind until he tapped you.
"What's the matter?" You were trying to eat your chicken tenders in peace.
"You got a little something right here." Before you can grab a napkin he leaned right in and you thought - hoping- he was going to kiss you but, he simply licked the side of your mouth making sure never to break eye contact. "All better." He licked his lips again and turned back to his food as if you weren't going to combust right there on the spot. The two of you finished eating and he plucked you off of him as if you weighed nothing and dumped both of your trays. You guys decided to finish playing some games and meet up with the rest of the group outside in an hour. You didn't realize that you were subtly flirting back but, he sure did.
"I want that plushie" You were looking at one on the claw machine. It was a giant whale squish mallow. You must have been staring too hard because Zuzu came up behind you and put money in the machine. He guided your hands concentrating on getting the plushie even though you could feel how fast his heart was beating against you. At least both of you were nervous. The only question left was who was going to confess first. It was quite obvious the two of you liked each other but, were just dancing around each other. "Thank you, Zuzu." You went to grab it but, he held it above his head and away from you. You pouted.
"Give me a kiss first." Your eyes widen at his boldness. Oh, we were really doing this? You blinked and took a deep breath before pulling him down for a kiss. He made a surprised noise but, kissed back before you got the wrong idea. You both pulled away looking at each other before catching the giggles. "Let's go, babe." He grabbed you firmly around the waist this time and exited the arcade to see all your friends already there. You both fell right in step with everyone them not even batting an eyelash at where Izuku's arm was and how you leaned completely on him with a dopey grin.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope the ending wasn't too rushed. Enjoy!
