I was wondering if I can request a Savannaclaw with a reader who is feels very cold one day like they are just sitting there shivering because they think they are ok (sorry I’m bad at explaining stuff and I’m awkward :])

Leona was raised in the savannah, so yes, he doesn’t really get along with the cold. As soon as autumn starts, he’s grumbling about how awful the weather is that day. How glad he is that Savanaclaw stays at reasonable temperatures all year long, really, he doesn’t get how anyone could even enjoy this kind of weather—

”What’s so good about this damn snow, people look like stupid kids getting excited over it…” He’s ranting absentmindedly as you walk together when he glances at you, and sees how you’ve been shivering through every step. Leona’s look twists from mildly annoyed to actually kind of disturbed.

”Herbivore, did you forget your coat or something?” …Immediately, he pretty much forgets about his own complaints. Has he ever even seen anyone shaking this hard? And you expect him to just believe you’re fine? Did you freeze your brain off during this walk? He’s not having any of that, no way.

If you just keep insisting don’t even need an extra scarf, he’ll just decide that you know what, there’s no reason for either of you to be out in this hell weather— Keeping you closer to him than usual during the walk back to Savanaclaw. Where he, of course, will deny any claims of him getting worried over a small thing, and/or that he was cold himself and just wanted an excuse to go back to his room.

𐙚 Ruggie Bucchi

Like Leona, Ruggie also dislikes cold weather, he just expresses it differently. Less straight up cursing the general existence of winter, more laughing about how he’s freezing his ass off. He doesn’t comment on it as much either, because thinking about it just makes you feel even colder.

He does see a kind of aesthetic appeal in the snow, though. “I mean, who doesn’t? Leona-san doesn’t count, he just complains because he’s cranky about being cold.” He tells you when he’s explaining why he’s invited you to come to the courtyard with him to look at the first snowflakes to fall that year— Then he turns to you and you look like you’re straight up vibrating, and he’s actually horrified.

”Wha… What do you mean you’re fine? Are you crazy?” He’s even more wide eyed when you give him your response, are you seriously this stubborn? Isn’t this a hypothermia symptom? Ruggie scrambles to get his second jacket off himself and onto you. He’s freezing even before it’s no longer on his body, but that’s not his main concern right now. You’re getting dragged out of that courtyard.

…Ruggie has picked up on a few things from classmates who are familiar with snowy winters, yeah. And it just so happens that some of the stories might’ve been a little exaggerated. He insists you keep his jacket even after he calms down, then ends up getting a cold from the whole situation. Yeah, pretty embarrassing. Still better than risking you getting hypothermia, though, he’ll always say whenever you bring this story up.

𐙚 Jack Howl

The fact that you’re dating Jack itself prevents this scenario from taking place, honestly. Because if you’re together, then he has plans of introducing you to his family. And if he has those plans, he’ll make a point of gifting you a very nice, very warm winter coat for you to wear the day on the day of your trip.

That, and he’s actually knowledgeable on the dangers of cold weather and the signs of hypothermia. And the fact that he’s kind of built for colder weather in the first place means he’s actually pretty energetic during the winter. ”It’s getting colder soon, so don’t forget to bring your jacket to class.” That’s the text you wake up to, sent at five in the morning, the exact day before the winter solstice.

You also hear it often, it might not feel too cold now, but it will later, he explains as he reminds you once again. Even if you also come from a place with colder weather— So, if he meets you for lunch and you’re shivering in place, it’s either because your clothes aren’t keeping you warm enough, which Jack is constantly trying to prevent, or you could be sick.

And it’s not going to make him straight up freak out, but he already regularly fusses over you, so he’s just going to do it more. ”If you’re shivering like that, you can’t be fine. Were you feeling unwell earlier? You know it’s not a good idea to go out in the cold, if you do…” He’s already dragging you to a warmer area where he can get you a hot drink, asking you if you felt off at all today, and giving you his jacket — all three at once, and that drink is firmly in your hands very quickly too.

The rest of the week is . . . tense to say the least.

Haru seems to be adverse to Sae like his father's the plague. He interacts with you and Yuki just fine, but the minute Sae enters the room, he falls silent and still. You know it's eating at your husband, even if he does his best to try and hide it.

Finally, the tense atmosphere reaches a breaking point of sorts.

"Sae, please, talk to him," you beg as he gets ready for bed, "He misses you."

"Does he?" Sae asks, turning the sink off and grabbing a sponge to wipe the water away.

"Sae, please. Be anything but sassy right now," you sigh, walking up to his side. You put your hand on his arm gently squeezing his bicep. "He's a little kid, he doesn't know how to deal with his emotions."

Sae stares down at the basin of the sink before turning to you. "Evidently, neither do I."

You shake you head and wrap your arms around his middle, hugging him tight. He's still for a moment, before his hand comes up to rest on the back of your head. Sae turns his face nuzzles into your hair. You turn your head and kiss him deep a slow. It's not enough to heal him and everything he's experienced, but it's enough that he can marginally relax in your arms.

"Hold him," you whisper as you part. "Hug him, rock him, put him to sleep in your arms. It won't fix everything, but it'll be a start at least."

"That's not . . . that's not the problem," Sae groans, stepping back and running a hand through his hair. "I just don't know how to look at him and not see . . . him. Rin."

The name sounds uncomfortable coming from Sae. He says it like his throats a rusty machine that hasn't been oiled in forever, the cogs being forced to run. It takes some energy out of him, you can tell, but it's the most Sae has talked about his late brother in a while, so you consider it a win nonetheless.

"Go," you say more firmly. "He should still be awake reading. Put him to sleep."

Sae sighs and nods, pressing one more kiss to your forehead before disappearing your sight and down the hallways to Haru's bedroom. As he opens the door, he sees Yuki tucking her little brother under the covers of his bed. She startles and Haru's eyes fly open. Both kids freeze under their father's gaze.

"Yuki," Sae's voice is flat as he steps inside, closing the door behind him.

"Mama didn't put Haru to sleep," Yuki explains sheepishly. "I didn't think you would either, so I decided-"

"You're not in trouble," Sae says softly, ruffling his baby girl's hair. He sits on the edge of Haru's bed, and his heart squeezes as the little boy shies away from him. Nevertheless, Sae continues. "I was coming, I just had to do some things first. I- I wanted to talk to you both about something."

Slowly both kids get closer to their father. Haru sits up and scoots closer and Yuki sits across her dad, her hands on his knee.

Sae takes a deep breath before finally speaking. "I'm sorry. I know I probably scared both of you when I got mad, and I'm sorry. I'm extra sorry to you, Haru," Sae's hand rests on his son's head, and he brings Haru closer. His son tucks himself into Sae's side and relaxes a little in his dad's warmth. "I shouldn't have said such horrible things to you. I . . . I can't say how sorry I really am.

"The thing is, recently I've been thinking a lot about my little brother."

"You have a little brother?" Yuki asks, perking up a bit more. Even Haru grows more interested.

Sae's mouth quirks up barely. He nods and explains, "Had. I had a little brother. He's gone now. He died before both of you were born."

Both Itoshi kids are silent before Haru begins to cry. Fat tears roll down his eyes and he shakes his head. Sae shifts Haru so that the little boy is in his lap now. Haru buries his face into Sae's shirt and Yuki just stares at her dad wide eyed.

"How'd he die?" she asks, her voice small and a bit afraid.

Sae takes a deep breath before he whispers, "Sometimes the world is mean to people. As your father, I'll do what I can to protect you from those mean people, but as an older brother . . . I didn't do my part. Sometimes, when the world is too mean, people can die.

"My little brother, Rin, was a victim of a too-mean world, and I was one of the people who was mean. I didn't realize it at the time, but just because I didn't know doesn't mean it wasn't true. Anyways, everything was really bad for Uncle Rin and he," Sae's voice breaks and he pauses, trying to collect himself, "he died."

Both of Sae's kids are silent as Sae talks. "I got married to your mom a year later. We were supposed to get married sooner, but your uncle's death messed me up. I tried to ignore it, but your mother refused to marry me until she said enough time had passed.

"But it wasn't enough time. I don't know if it'll ever be enough time. I never properly dealt with my emotions, the way Mama teaches you two to do. They just kept getting bigger and bigger inside of me, and I just exploded. I'm sorry."

Another tense silence falls over the three of them, before Haru mumbles, "I don't think you're mean daddy."

Yuki nods in agreement. "He's right, you're not!"

Sae squeezes his eyes shut, the sting in them threatening a wave of tears to come flooding out of him. He wraps his arms around both of his children, pulling them tight against him.

"I can be. I can be really mean some times," he whispers, his voice broken and hoarse. "I'm telling you this so you can tell me. Whenever I'm being mean, promise me you'll tell me, okay? Haru, Yuki, please." After both kids give their assent, Sae kisses them both on the head. "I love you both. I'm so sorry Haru, again, for being mean. You know that I don't hate you right? I could never hate you, ever."

Haru nods. "I know Daddy. I know you care about me a lot. Mama and Yuki both say so."

"But do you feel it?"

" . . . sometimes," Haru shrugs.

"Sometimes isn't enough," Sae sighs. He gives his son another squeeze before promising, "I'll make sure you feel it all the time, don't worry. Alright, Haru?"

Haru nods and Yuki smiles at her little brother's behavior. She hugs Haru from behind, sandwiching him with her father.

A couple more minutes pass by before your bedroom door opens. In steps your husband, a kid in each hand. You take Yuki from him and help situate them between the two of you. You hold Sae's hand over their bodies, Haru pressed against Sae and Yuki against you.

Sae stays up for a bit, watching over his family while they sleep, before his eyes finally start to droop. The last thing he hears before he finally gets some proper rest is his baby boy's voice, high pitched and innocent whispering, "Goodnight. I love you, daddy."

If a tear leaks from Sae's eye, well, no ones awake to see.

Jason didn’t find sleep the following night. 

How could he when his princess took away from him the brightest moment of joy of his days? He blamed himself, he should have been better at concealing his reaction. He could still be enjoying your touch then.

You couldn’t sleep either. 

It felt wrong to put a distance between your knight and yourself.

Finally, you decided you needed a walk in the streets of your city… if Jason was up to it. 

You quietly left your bed and put a robe on before knocking at his door. You were surprised how quickly he answered it. He frowned when he saw you as you tried not to look at his muscled chest on display in front of you.

“Are you hurt, princess?” he whispered, his eyes scanning you with concern

“Did I wake you up?” you asked

“Are you alright?” Jason asked again, he was on edge and it surprised you even more. You quickly nodded

“Yes, yes. Just sleep does not seem to want me tonight.” you reassuringly smiled at him and it appeased him a little bit

“What can I do for you, my lady?” 

“I want to have a walk in the city.” you explained and your knight hummed

“Anything you want” Jason nodded “I will put clothes on” he added and you smiled

You stayed silent for a long time, as you were wandering in the streets, a lot on your mind. Thankfully, the fresh air of the night eventually helped you find some peace. It was then you noticed how tense your knight still was. You felt bad for having woken him up and he clearly would have been more at ease in the gardens, than in the open like that.

“You are troubled” you finally commented, thinking he was worried about your safety

“I am displeasing my princess without meaning to, so yes” Jason admitted and he winced at his own words. The lack of sleep and the stress caused by your new rules of being “appropriate” were making him act like a fool. “Please, forget I say anything, my lady” he begged you, fearing to make things even worse

“You are not displeasing me” you replied “I would have sent you away otherwise” you added, hoping to quieten down Jason’s worries but it didn’t. On the contrary, actually, but your knight remained silent.

After a little while, you stopped walking and you looked at him.

“My lady?” Jason hummed, stepping closer to you so he could see your face more clearly with the moon shining behind him

“Were you sleeping when I came to you?” you asked

“No” your knight quickly replied

“Why not?” you asked again “Because you are so certain you are displeasing me?”

“Yes” Jason whispered

“What made you think so?” you wondered

“I have told you I am yours and yet…” Jason trailed off, too ashamed to continue

“And yet?” you tilted your head to the side

“You… do not act as if I was” 

“I looked for you in the middle of the night, is it not proof that I know you are my knight?” you countered “So where is the problem?”

Jason didn’t answer and you started to lose patience, getting tired too. 

You hesitated going back to the palace in silence but you knew your knight would just be even more on edge the next day.

“Answer me and that is an order, knight” you finally groaned.

It caught Jason off guard but he quickly obliged. He couldn’t disobey a direct order from his princess.

“You stopped tending after me, you stopped touching me” he replied, not looking at you, his cheeks burning

You were too baffled to say anything at first, so you simply resumed walking back to the palace. Jason followed you in silence, certain you were going to ask for a new knight.

As you reached for your room, you wished him a good night. 

You were about to get into your room, but eventually turned back to him.

“You were tense when I used to bandage you” you said

“I am yours but you are not mine” Jason repeated what he told you the day before and you groaned in annoyance once again

“What is the meaning of this?” you asked and Jason’s eyes widened at the clear irritation he caused you. He panicked so he blurted out the truth:

“I need your touch to live, but I also need to resist the desire of running my own fingers down your skin”

“Do you love me?” you asked him

“More than anything” Jason admitted in an instant

“Kneel” you hummed with a little smile, and your knight didn’t question it, instantly going on his knees for you, before looking up at you, waiting for your next words.

You softly cupped his face in one hand and the man instinctively leaned into your touch, so relieved to feel the warmth of your skin against his. He closed his eyes. You watched him and enjoyed the sight of him a little too much for his own good.

“You can kiss my hand” you offered

You didn’t need to repeat yourself twice, as Jason quickly took your hand in both of his and started to softly kiss your skin, every inch of it. He had dreamt of it for so long, and you tasted even better than he ever imagined it. You were surprised by the intensity of his love, and it made you unbearably happy.

You finally removed your hand from his grasp, and by the look of his face, he would have loved to keep adoring on you.

“Please, do not ask for another knight” Jason pleaded with you

“Oh I do not intend on sending you away. You said it yourself, you are mine. And I still want you.” you smiled down at him.

Jason knew he was going to cry of relief when he would be alone in his room.

“Thank you, my lady” he whispered

“Good night, Jason” you hummed before going into your room and closing the door on the man, who was tasting the sound of his name rolling off your tongue. 

He never liked his name better than when it was coming from your sweet lips.

You were both tired when you got up a few hours later, but your knight seemed more at peace. His eyes searched for yours, and when you smiled at him, he fully calmed down. You told him to be careful before he started his training and he bowed to you.

He took your words as a token of your affection for him, and he put all his energy into doing better than the day before. He didn’t disappoint you. 

When you joined him in the nursery, he was looking like a man who would have enjoyed nothing better than a nap. He woke up a little when he saw you coming closer to him.

You inspected his body in silence before starting to look after him. Jason’s eyes followed your every move, enjoying getting back your touch and undivided attention on him. You settled in between his legs to look at a cut he got on his forehead. He could so easily take into your scent with how close you were and his hands were itching from grabbing your waist.

You must have read his mind, as you quietly and very naturally brought his hands on your hips before resuming taking care of his cut. Jason couldn’t help but smile at being allowed in touching you that way. His warm hands gently brought you closer to him, and you loved his touch on you a little too well for your own good.

After that, you quickly learnt that Jason was a clingy and greedy worshipper. 

It started with soft and almost shy touches and kisses, but the more room you gave to his love, and the more you received. 

After a few weeks, whenever you were alone, and that you allowed him to touch you, his hands were instantly roaming your body and his lips kissing your face and neck, feverishly. You couldn’t help yourself from giggling at the constant attention, and the sound was always making Jason smile against your skin. 

At first, you believed that after a few times of being authorised kissing and caressing you, he would get used to it and lose his passion; he would then stop acting like an excited puppy. You realised you couldn’t be more wrong: the man couldn’t get enough of you. 

Never. 

You were his divinity.

He was happy, when you were happy with him. He was happy when he could kiss you. He was happy when he could keep you all to himself.

The first time you kissed his mouth, he knew he would damned himself to be allowed to marry you. He had instinctively pressed you against the nearest wall to deepen the kiss, to get his body even closer to yours, his arms around your waist. When you both parted for some air, you smiled up at him.

“You are good to me, my knight” you whispered to him and his eyes lit up

“I am content if I can fulfil my duty to you, my lady” he replied, gently leaning his forehead against yours

“Meet me in my room for midnight” you murmured to him again, not really realising what you were saying; you just wanted to have him all to yourself without worrying about anyone seeing you.

“Anything you desire,” he nodded.

At midnight, when you opened your bedroom door to your knight, you knew you were going to give him something only your future husband should have, like your grandmother always said about sexual relationships between a man and a woman. 

You locked the door behind yourself before kissing Jason. You only heard rumours about pleasure, as it was a pretty taboo subject. But one thing was certain, you wanted your knight, more than you ever wanted anyone before. Actually, you did not remember having desired anyone like you did in that moment. You got annoyed at Jason’s clothes, you wanted to feel more of him.

“Undress yourself” you breathlessly told him.

Jason was a good soldier, always eager to obey you, even more with your dilated pupils looking at him with such impatience and raw desire.

“Still easy on your eyes?” he asked as he was standing in front of you in his underwear, as you were hungrily detailing him.

Your sole answer was to let go of your robe in one swift movement, leaving you naked in front of him. He knelt without thinking, and started to gently kiss your feet and legs. You barely heard him calling you his goddess, as he busied himself worshipping you.

You finally laid down on the bed together, your hands and mouth discovering one another. Despite the burning love between the two of you, you were tender and taking your time. You needed to feel the other one, to find the sweet spots, to be intimate to become one for the night.

When Jason started to touch you in between your legs, you had no idea that pleasure would actually feel that good. Jason showed you heaven.

Or maybe he was heaven.

At least he was yours.

Is the average prosthetic eye realistic enough for people to not realise someone has a fake eye without being told? One of my characters has one, and I was wondering if the MC would likely pick up on them only having one eye on the first meeting. Tysm for answering when you get to this ask:D

Hey,

In my experience (I'm not particularly perceptive) it's hard-to-impossible to tell that someone has a prosthetic eye. There are some "tells", most notably the eye being unaligned and/or lack of coordinated movement between the eyes, but unless you have a reason to believe that it's a prosthetic eye situation, you probably aren't going to assume that. You'd pick up on it, but probably assume strabismus, since that's just much more common.

Another "tell" would be the fact that the pupil doesn't react to light, but you would have to be very close to be able to tell that at all, and probably only if the person had relatively lightly colored eyes.

An example I sometimes bring up when it comes to the visibility/obviousness of prosthetic eyes is Peter Falk (the actor who played Columbo among other things), who had a prosthetic eye for basically all of his life. I still see people say that as a funfact about him, because you really can't tell, even if you're watching him for way longer (big portion of it focused on his face) than you ever would with a person IRL. It really just looks like he had strabismus, not a prosthesis.

TLDR: I would say that unless the MC is very perceptive (or very physically close up) then they wouldn't notice, and if they do then they would likely assume incorrectly.

One of my teachers in high school had a prosthetic eye. I was in his class every day for the entire school year and I only noticed he had one during the last week of school. Even then, it was only because I was talking to him at his desk and was close enough to notice and actively looking at/analyzing his eyes (I needed to know his eye colour for some reason, can't remember why).

There's some subtle differences between a prosthetic eye and a homegrown eye (the way the light hits it, movement, pupil/iris size and shape, etc.) but unless you're super close and actively looking for it, it's pretty hard to tell.

Somebody noticing during their first meeting with the person (especially if it's just a normal interaction and not a mildly creepy nineth grader staring into their eyes like they held the secrets of the universe) is pretty unlikely.

Even when I noticed my teacher's eye, I don't think I would have clocked it as a prosthetic if I hadn't quite literally asked "why does your eye look like that" and if he hadn't had enough patience to tell me and explain it. My initial thought was that there was just something wrong with his eye.

So yeah, they probably wouldn't pick up on it right away.

Sorry if this was asked before but do we know why Lilia's dream doesn't seem to follow the same pattern as everyone else's dream? It seems strange for him to be reliving a moment of war in a dream that's suppose to exclude all things deemed bad and does this mean Malleus knew what happened back then? Some of it, like how Lilia actually found Silver, seems like things he wouldn't entirely know either. Why would Lilia's dream be the only one not happy despite Malleus doing this for him?

This is a most interesting thought, and Silver asks himself the same question! (also, we see on-screen the moment where Lilia's anti-Malleus protection drops and the dream adapts accordingly 👀 more below)

Silver reflects,

I've been thinking about something ever since we entered Father's dream. Malleus's spell is what's showing him all of this, right? So why is it all so horrible? If we take Malleus at his word, his magical slumber is supposed to give people dreams that are perfectly tailored to make the dreamer happy. It would make more sense for Father's dream to be one where fae and humans don't fight. Where Malleus's parents are alive. A dream where Briarland remains a great nation. Malleus also said that he's monitoring our dreams and reigning over them. If he knew we were here, it stands to reason that he'd try to remove us, like he did in Sebek's.

Later, Silver realizes why the Fae-Human war of 400 years in the past is the subject of Lilia's dream:

I've been wondering all this time why Father's dream was filled with so many terrible things. But...now I finally understand. This was the happiest moment in Father's life. All the fighting, the injuries, the losses...all of that suffering lead up to this. The moment that Malleus was born.

As you say this is an interesting paradox, as--according to the rules of the dreams, created by someone who cannot comprehend the concept of happiness derived from pain--Lilia should not be able to feel losses or suffering at all.

Ortho: "I thought Malleus's dream worlds were designed to provide the target with whatever form of pleasure they wanted...but maybe it's more of a system to remove displeasure the target doesn't want. Sadness, anger, and the like.”

And it is possible that you have landed on exactly the explanation: Malleus didn't actually know what happened 400 years ago.

But Malleus presumably doesn't know about the death of human Ortho, or about Vil's struggles with Neige, or about Jamil's and Kalim's and Azul's and Floyd's and Jade's inner turmoils--how could he?--and yet, those details are all personalized to each dreamer beyond Malleus' comprehension.

As Ortho explains, “It's the dreamers themselves whose imaginations form those happy dreams."

Malleus doesn't actually have to know details from the dreamers' personal lives: it is the dreamers themselves who are unknowingly crafting their own prisons. Malleus' influence is the removal of negativity.

So why is Lilia alone different? It is possibly because of: ✨imagination!✨

Ortho realizes that Malleus cannot manifest or defend against what he doesn't know, and Silver guesses that Malleus isn't interfering in Lilia's dream--is unable to set the "no sadness, no pain" regulations--because it takes place before he was born.

Sebek makes a similar connection: "Perhaps there's some reason that Malleus can't monitor Lilia's dream."

Malleus cannot imagine things that took place before his own birth, and he cannot control things that he cannot imagine. He put Lilia to sleep but it was Lilia who made the dream, and it just happened to be a dream that locked Malleus out.

And we even see the exact moment in Lilia's dream where the "pre-Malleus" barriers of Lilia's dream come down: when the dream overrides the reality of the abuse Lilia suffered after saving Malleus' life, replacing it with the senate praising him as a hero, instead.

But this wasn't a one-time exception or from Malleus successfully forcing his way inside, it was because Malleus had finally been born, enabling the "no sadness" rules to be implemented for the very first time, as the only thing keeping him out was Lilia dreaming of events from before his birth.

And this brings us back to Idia's explanation of what it is that Malleus is doing:

Idia describes Malleus as a "server admin" using copies of himself to handle players committing TOS violations.

The "copies of himself" wording might make it sound as though Malleus Draconia lookalikes exists in every single dream, but it seems that this phrasing wasn't meant to be literal copies of Malleus, like what we saw in Idia's dream. Malleus could not show up in a dream like Jade's, for example, without causing a paradox that would break things down.

But the Malleus-copy in Idia's dream might not have been only Malleus himself. It might have also been human Ortho 👀

Ortho: Unlike with Epel and Rook, the GM is by the dreamers side at all times here. Considering circumstances were much the same with my brother...that might mean even Malleus is wary of housewarden-class mages, and keeps them under tighter surveillance.

The GMs--the Malleus copies--are the characters like Neige for Vil, etc. Idia refers to them as clones, but they are not visually multiple Malleuses.

As Vil and Rook appear in Epel's dream Idia says outright, "The Malleus clone GMs must be on their way to do course-corrections now that the user is deviating from the dream."

Ortho follows with, "it seems to take whatever form makes it easier to keep a target immersed in their dream."

And while Lilia had multiple NPCs in his dream (Baul, Henrick, Maleanor, Knight of Dawn, etc.), there was never a point when one of them tried to convince Lilia to stay asleep, which we have seen happen to every single other dreamer up until this point.

Baul is even surprised by the darkness. Unlike Neige and dream-Kalim/Jamil/Azul/Jade/Floyd, Baul is not self aware.

Lilia's dream maybe did not have any Malleus clones in it, because Malleus could not get in.

Lilia's despair at Maleanor's death and his loss of Egg-sama does summon darkness within his dream, but the darkness of Lilia's dream is curious: when Lilia is dragged into the abyss the darkness it does not take the form of anyone he knows, or even speak to him.

The darkness simply appears and Lilia succumbs to it, much like it responded to Sebek's happiness at the thought of remaining in Lilia's dream forever, and Silver's breakdown with the revelation of his lineage.

The darkness pursues the soldiers constantly throughout all of Lilia's dream, even when nothing particularly terrible or wonderful is happening. Sebek wonders if it is under Malleus' control but he does not actually know, and neither do we!

Maybe the darkness of Lilia's dream was an effect of Malleus trying and failing to force his way into a world beyond his comprehension?

It is possible that, with Malleus' ability to infiltrate Lilia's dream compromised by the limits of his own imagination, Malleus was never able to enforce the rules of the dreamworld, thus turning Lilia--the person he wanted to save--into the one person capable of experiencing pain, loss and sorrow, beyond Malleus' control 🐉 Maybe!

I just read through all the Welcome Home headcanons you wrote, and I love the amount of attention that you're giving everyone, especially Frank! I feel like he's one of the few people in Welcome Home that doesn't get mentioned often.

Anyway! I read the one where he listened to our heartbeat, and I was wondering, if maybe he'd make it a slight habit to ask to listen to it sometimes since there aren't many things that have a heartbeat. It's calming, if not a little personal/intimate. Who knows, maybe he even falls asleep like that.

★ When he wants to hear it, he pretends it's for his research. Frank asks politely. "I would like to hear it again. For science, of course." But over time it becomes a little routine. When he talks with you about biology, entomology, or whatever he finds interesting, it's usually done with him close to you. So he can hear your heartbeat.

★ The first time he fell asleep while listening to it was an accident. Letting his eyes close for just a second to focus on the sound. You just let him rest. Enjoying the moment of peace. When he wakes up, he's embarrassed. "Oh! I'm very sorry!" Feeling like he crossed a boundary.

Wally

★ Wally won't say much when he notices it. Simply enjoying the sound while thinking of a way to mention it. Eventually, he says something. "That sound you make, it's nice..." His words making it speed up. "Oh! Now it's faster. What does that mean?"

★ He finds it very calming. Never asking many questions and just accepting it as a part of you. Sometimes, when he listens, he taps a finger along. Trying to match the rhythm. "It reminds me of a clock." He tells you.

Sally

★ She is by far the most clueless person in home when it comes to matters of biology. Even more than Home. And that's saying something. The first time she noticed it was by accident. You had lifted her up to reach a prop for her latest play. Then she froze. "Wait. What is that?!?"

★ Sally presses a hand against your chest as you move to put her down. Then, she gasps loudly. "Neighbor, what in this wide world is moving inside you!" This was the moment you knew you were about to spend the rest of your afternoon explaining things to her.

★ When she realizes your heart never stops, Sally gets concerned. "Well, that simply sounds exhausting! Even I need to take breaks. What if it get’s tired?" If it picks up too much for her taste, she panics. "No no! I will not allow this! Go sit down."

Barnaby

★ I've mentioned this before. But Barnaby gets freaked out over the noises your body makes. Like your stomach growling. Your heart, however, is quite soothing. The soft sound of your pulse reminds him of a dogs tail wag. Barnaby associates it with happy memories.

★ But if your heartbeat starts to pick up, he gets confused. What do you mean it changes? An ear twitches as he listens more closely. "Hey, hold on a sec. What's happening in there?" It catches him off guard.

Julie

★ The moment she notices it, Julie asks a million questions. Treating it as a fun little game. "Do you make it tick? Oh! It's getting faster!" Bouncing up and down as she speaks. Why didn't you mention this to her before?

★ "Okay, okay -now try running. Let's see how fast we can make it go!" Each time it changes she giggles. Pressing a hand to the side of your neck where she can feel it best. "It's kind of like a clock, huh? Or a drum." Comparing it to things she knows.

★ Your heartbeat starts to slow down as you relax. Like when you get exhausted from one of her games. This is how she knows when you need a break. Reminding you to drink some water and grab a snack. Try telling her your fine and she wags a finger at you. "Nope! I can tell when you need to rest! Sit down. I'll go grab you a soda."

Poppy

★ At first she was worried. The idea of such an important organ needing to run constantly, inside of you, makes her nervous. Especially when she thinks about what might happen if it were to stop. "Oh dear... That's a lot of responsibility for one little part of you."

★ When it speeds up, she gets panicky. Assuming that something went wrong. "Oh no! Is something wrong? Do you need tea? A blanket? Tell me what's amiss, dear!" Her feathers all fluffed up. Checking you over despite not understanding your body completely.

We talking romance? Let's go!

BTdubs, this is my opinion and mine alone, so don't yell at me if I say something mean about your favorite. We all have favorites and that's perfectly okay because this is a video game.

So, if we talk about romance, I hate to say that the better romance options are for Male V rather than Female V. Judy is alright, sure, but if you're nice to her. I remember in one of my playthroughs, when my Cool attribute was low, I wasn't able to end the conversation quickly. Now, I know how it looks like from her end. Some random merc she met that Evelyn hired is suddenly back, asking to find her in desperation would raise some flags. What could they possibly want, right? Revenge? To kill Evelyn? Makes sense and I get why she's hostile, but the shit she says to you is low. She throws Jackie's and T-bug's death in your face and blames you for it, as if you were the sole being responsible for everything that happened.

No one, not a single soul, knew Saburo Arasaka would fucking be there. T-bug mentions that everyone is scrambling and on their feet, because his arrival is that sudden. Yorinobu probably got the memo at the last minute and rushed his ass from wherever the hell he was straight back. Didn't even have time to process it, just sat down and waited for his father to come down the stairs. No one could predict what Yorinobu would even do, least of all V. I don't even think Yorinobu planned to kill Saburo either, it was the heat of the moment when he did it. A crime of passion, so to speak. All of it ended in disaster, but V did manage to get the Relic. V did the job, at their friend's expense and what did that earn them? A bullet to the brain by Dexter fucking DeShawn.

Judy only knows from what the scream sheets and news outlets told her, yet when V explains that they also fucking died, Judy says she doesn't fucking care. She wants to be angry, which is fine, but if you keep defending yourself, she is just more and more angry at you. Fine, I get it. After your mission in Clouds and you show up at Fingers, she gets all mad. She starts to give up before V tells her to get her shit together. To hold out for hope. The go to the power plant and this is when I lose it with Judy. She demands to know why you were looking for Ev, so when you tell her, she scoffs and says she expects nothing less of a merc.

Girl, what the fuck? I get you're mad, but this is the shit you're gonna tell me when I'm the only reason why you know where Evelyn is in the first place? I did the dirty work for you and you say this shit? Scavs die on sight, so I'm killing everyone, but really? I go through hell just to get Evelyn and save her. If I didn't do something, your ass would've just sat in your den, mulling over what you should do but not actually doing it.

If V never came back from the dead, what would happen? Judy wouldn't have done anything. The Mox wouldn't help her, they're tired of her shit. She's good at what she does, truly talented, but that could only go so far when you start to piss off the leader of the Mox enough. Tom would have never have told her what happened, because he'd still be doing his own thing, always wondering what happened to Ev but never doing more than that. Ev would have been absolutely tortured until she finally died from the way the Scavs were treating her.

And the whole thing with them doing the raid on Clouds? Piss poor planning. She had nothing to go off of and the only reason why anything happens is because of V. Depending on what you do results in something awful happening. You either get the Dolls killed who aided you in the mission, Maiko takes over and doesn't make the Dolls lives any easier or you just piss her off.

Depending on your choices, if you unlock the extra mission for Judy, the one where you dive underwater, she goes through her life before suddenly feeling utterly guilty over everything that happened. If you reject her advances/play Male V, she sleeps on the couch and Johnny goes off on how he doesn't like her. He may be an asshole, but Johnny has shown that he's pretty decent at reading certain types of people. He knows her type and he hates it. If you stay for her, he gets mad at you for being all "sentimental" but, either way, the message is clear. He does not like her and if you're not "nice" to her, she says some pretty awful shit to you.

That's not to say Judy is a bad character. Far from it. I think she's fantastic, because she's a fleshed out character with flaws. She's realistic. But, for romance? I don't find her to be a good romantic partner for V.

River, on the other hand, is one I do have the least experience with, but for good reason. He's a good guy, heart's in the right place, but he comes on too strong and it's kinda awkward. From the stories I've heard and the bits of dialogue I've seen from videos, I just don't think River is a romance option that V would pursue. Plus, he's a badge. V with a cop boyfriend would only be hot in fanfiction, not in the reality of the game. Male V can at least see the friendship in him, but Female V is fighting mighty levels of cringey flirtation that borderlines desperation. Truthfully, I refused to do that mission for the longest time because I genuinely did not want to go through that second-hand embarrassment. But, from what I read, at the very least, you know his love is genuine. He does love V and I guess that's alright. You just really have to deal with some pretty hard cringe beforehand.

Although, I will say, River is very similar to Judy in terms of planning. He does not plan ahead. He doesn't think things through and impulsively goes through the motions. From what I've seen, from the actual gameplay mind you, he relies heavily on you to do most of the work in figuring out where to go. Like, my guy, your nephew's life hangs on the balance but you're telling me that you're incapable of doing the police work? Why I am doing the scrolling? Why am I doing the investigating? If you do not go with him to save his nephew, he's not prepared for anything and dies. Mind you, he's a cop. Sure, he doesn't have the cyberware that V has, but that doesn't mean he doesn't know how to avoid mines and turrets. Finding the button isn't as hard as you think and navigating around is dicey, but he could figure it out. Time is of the essence, but still, even Panam could figure out what she needs to do if she was there.

Speaking of which, Panam is probably the best romantic option in the game for a multitude of reasons. She's impulsive, like Judy, but also smart enough to think on her feet. She shows love to V, regardless of gender, though only familiar/platonic love for Fem V, and is the type to be your best friend through it all. She truly does love you and is hurt deeply when you disappear with certain endings. She is your ride or die type of partner and that's what's so great about her.

Kerry, truthfully, is the one I have zero experience on. I haven't gotten to the point of romancing him because I'm usually not playing a Male V. From the looks of it, he maintains the relationship with V so long as V is in Night City. And if you choose the Phantom Liberty ending, he would like to start up the relationship again, but that he's busy with the tour. And honestly, I think that's pretty dope. A rockerboy(old man really) that loves you a lot and can spoil your ass? Sounds good to me, honestly.

Now, enough of that. I know I ranted about Judy the most, sorry about that, but really? With these romance options, it pains me that the ones I wanna romance, I can't.

Other Romance Options that I'd have preferred

Vik? Lemme romance that old-timer, please. I'd kill to have him as a romance option. Solid enough dude. Man can beat most people's asses and he's not even suped up with any cybernetics. He's chill and he's nice to hang around with.

Claire? CLAIRE!? LET ME ROMANCE HER, PLEEEEEASE. God, she's so cool, so pretty, so amazing. I know she was married and was grieving, but c'mooooooooon. Let me love her. Let me be with her. Please!

Takemura is an enemy to lover trope and I am alright with it being a one-off thing. Truly I am. I mean, we even make a tongue-n-cheek reference about how we could make sure he's not feeling so lonely and he says he's flattered, but has prior commitments.

That one ripperdoc, Rafael Pérez, in Arroyo? Pleaaaaase let me romance this guy. Ugh, he's perfect. Tired man who could definitely use some company. Love you. I do.

T-Bug? I KNOW YOU DIE BUT GOD YOU ARE GORGEOUS! LET ME LOVE YOU! She's so pretty, too. Ugh, T-Bug, you're amazing. Trust me, I'll love you. I'll take care of you while you surf the net. I'll make sure to take care of you.

Denny? OH GOD, DENNY. That woman had me flabbergasted. I swear, I make it a point to have each V check her out. Feisty woman and gorgeous to boot. And she's punk? She's a rocker? Fuuuuuuck me, she's amazing and I'm enamored. Fuck Henry, I will pick Denny every single time.

So Mi? So Mi... I'm dying. I'm dead. I love her. I'd kill for a chance to romance her. So she lied to me, no one's perfect. I love her. V loves her. V will get over it. We got options, don't you worry. You go to space, I'll take care of myself. I'll see you after you're better, trust me.

Mumaur? El Capitan? Let me love you. Let me adore you. Sure, as a fixer, it could get complicated, but you know me and trust me and I got your back. I'm good at what I do, so please, let us be together.

Rita? Bouncer and Mox? Beautiful and badass to boot? Let me love you. I'm a merc, so I don't mind getting my hands dirty. I'll chill with you, fight with you and do whatever you want me to do. Just let me loooooove you.

Tiny Mike? Mike Kowalski? Yo, you and me are gonna have fun. We'll have a great time and I will romance the fuck out of you if given the chance. Already saved your ass, so you know I'm tough enough to help you with your merc work. Truuust me, I left your bro alive, I promise.

Angelica Whelan? Listen, you're a bitch and you did my boy Aaron dirty. Truly, you're bad. But, god, I think I can change you for the better. Let me romance you. It'd be toxic and god awful but let me make that choice, pleeeeeeease.

Farida Nazeri? Let me love you. God, let me love you. I think we have chemistry and I think we could make it work. Sure you work for BARGHEST, and I shouldn't get mixed up with that, but LET ME LOVE YOU. I WILL RISK IT FOR YOU.

Kurt Hansen? I hate you... but I'm willing to have a one-off with you. Just a one off, like with Meredith.

Paco Torres? One off, for sure, but damn it might be great.

Aurore Cassel? God, it'd be awful and just ruthless. It'd be so toxic and I know at some point, I'd grow to hate you. BUT LET ME MAKE THAT MISTAAAAKE. Come on, let me MAKE IT. PLEASE!

That being said, Johnny not being on the table does suck. Because, I agree. Johnny knows everything there is to know about you. Johnny cares about you and is with you throughout every portion of your life. Johnny honestly should have been a romance option, but I also understand why they didn't. I feel like it'd be one of the hardest things to explore. It's not like he's actually real and alive. He's dead. He's a dead man that you're speaking to. It's so morally grey, falling in love with a memory of someone who once existed.

It's a pretty damn hard topic to broach, one I think they could have explored, but I get why they didn't. There's so much to Cyberpunk 2077 and it's amazing that everyone can experience this game truly differently than others.

So here's the thing about Johnny Silverhand.

If he were a romance option, it wouldn't even be close; he'd be the most popular option. Ao3 backs this up. But the game doesn't let us choose him.

The four options the game gives us are fine as far as romance goes--they lack the depth of old-school Bioware and Larian. Panam, Judy, and Kerry are beautifully written, wonderfully messy characters. Oh yeah, then there's River (no seriously, CDPR did him dirty). But once you play through their stories, you're kinda done with them. Sure, you get some random texts, a handful of repeatable dialog, a repeatable date--but that's such a tiny sliver of your game time.

Johnny's with you for most of the game. Over the course of many hours, you get to see him warm up to V (a stand-in for you, the player), playfully trade barbs with them, and then solemly swear to off himself in order to save their/your pathetic ass.

If you think about it for more than two seconds, V has this near-psychotic level of intimacy with Johnny. The "guy in my head" trope makes a lot of narrative sense, especially in video games. It's a more interesting story when the main character has someone to talk to, rather than internal monolog or muttering to themselves. But if you overthink the trope to a concerning degree, as I have--you understand that Johnny is forced to quietly look away while V is taking a shit, showering, flicking the bean, getting random boners, violently puking blood, etc. This is way more intimacy than I have with my husband of 15 years. We close the door when we use the bathroom.

They're sharing dreams, seeing each other's memories. They pick up each other's habits. V can play the guitar. Johnny's less of an asshole and learns how to let go. They're changing each other for the better.

All the other romances in CP77 feel so damn shallow next to Johnny and V. That's not the fault of the romancable characters. It's that they've been through some very fucked-up shit together, and I don't know how you don't trauma-bond over all that. V and Johnny are the only two souls on earth who know what it's like to be an engram on a chip inside a corpse's head.

Their story is so beautiful, tragic, and fucked-up that I don't want it to end.

And I really wanna fuck that rockerboy.

I think it's finally time to share something I've been really excited about for a couple days now!!

I've started a Bah archival project!! But with a bit of a twist!

It's on simply plural!!

Now, to explain how all of this works :p

I created a simply plural account, specifically for the sake of archiving as many packs as I can ( @ simply-sleepy-bah ). you may be wondering, why simply plural? well, firstly because I love the markddown support :p, but more importantly, because the simply plural account won't have the risk of deactivation! another reason behind the account is that I want a way to give back t this wondrful community even when I am dealing with a lot irl, and archiving packs in general takes a lot less time and effort for us then having to collect all the info in making one ourselves.

Now, How does the set up work? well, we create profiles for each pack, picking a faceclaim used in the pack as the avatar, and putting some core info in the description, along with credits, a link to the original post, and pretty web graphics :p

then, we add them to groups in order to make it easier for anyone looking for something more specific! we have groups for: species, roles, age, alter type, source, original creators, and finally, warnings!

Warnings include anything I can think of that could be considered triggering, as well as certain things added to packs that may make people uncomfortable or may be something someone is specifically looking for (ex: NSFW, MUD's, Paras, Etc)

Any listed roles will include descriptions (generally copy and pasted from pluralpedia when applicable), though we often make a few profiles before going through and adding descs to all of them so they may not have them right away.

We then have the filled out custom fields sections which include

"general info" "personal info" "system info" "other info" "alternate faceclaims" "web graphics" "other images" and "aesthetics" // these will be made up to include any and all info on the original packs.

Marc is listening, does not interrupt the other - not even once. Just sits there, takes in the sight of that man moving in the most subtle ways, explaining; Talking about how brains work, how minds try to keep themselves sane while handling whatever is coming for them.

All of this makes sense in a way that it's almost frustrating to comprehend - nothing comes up that causes Marc to doubt any of that doctor's observations, his explanations. Another swallow, another inhale of air, with Marc shifting in his seat ever so slightly to get into a more comfortable position as his fingers keep twirling around another, tugging on skin, on bones, making them pop softly as he does. A subconscious thing, still trying to relieve some inner stress that has accumulated within the center of his chest upon waking in that damn room, without having any memories of what must've happened before...

---But then, dark eyes widen all of a sudden and Marc looks back up from where his gaze had been drifting a bit, another wave of surprise hitting him out of nowhere. While he has no fucking idea what OSDD means, it's what follows after that catches his interest in a way that has his blood turn cold, send a shiver along his spine---

You’ve got one part of you that feels like the ‘real’ you - Marc. That’s you right now. And when ‘Marc’ can’t handle something, a different part of you steps in.

Another blink, a soft gasp of sorts as Marc knits his brows once more, tilts his head... No. No, this cannot be about Steven, right? No. Steven does not--- he does not appear without Marc knowing of it, no. Whenever it happens that the other takes over to live his perfectly normal, happy life, Marc is aware of it happening and can watch him - can take control any time he wants, isn't left in the dark. In fact, Marc can even make him appear consciously, is doing it on purpose...

"...OS... DD?" Curious, but also very hesitant and almost scared once again, he breathes that weird term into the air between them - then looks down onto his hands, as if wondering whether they're still there, before his dark pupils are back on the other. "What... what does that mean? What do you mean with... with--- a different part of me stepping in? I'm... I-I'm aware of myself, I know who I am, and I know what I do."

...Usually. Marc presses his lips together with so much force that they're turning white for a solid second or two and he exhales a breath before shaking his head, disbelief and something utterly overwhelmed flooding him as moments pass, one after another. "I mean... until--- until that happened, the... thing. I don't remember any of it."

Lids fluttering a bit, Marc's gaze falls away again - focuses on Harrow's pen instead, the way it just lies there now, since the other has put it down mere moments ago.

He has to think of Steven again...

Only when Marc went quiet again did Arthur shift in his chair, nodding just a bit to show he was listening. He clicked his pen once, twice - and then set it down. “You were never chemically sedated,” he promised; finding it interesting that that would be a concern. It was likely due to the stigma around hospitals, but it was fascinating all the same - if only because Marc was acknowledging that he found his state in the moment to be worthy of sedation. 

“If you had posed a danger to yourself or others, or reached a state where you were unreachable, we have protocols. But we never begin with chemical. I’ll try talking to you first, to ground you. If that doesn’t work, then we’ll get the guards to come in, and they’ll help me hold your arms in a place where you can’t hurt anyone. If you keep fighting, then it depends on the situation. Fighting other people around you will put you in seclusion - you might have heard of a padded room.” 

His lips twitched into a smile, as if he found something funny there. “If you hurt yourself - which you almost did - then you’d be restrained to your bed. Soft restraints, just cuffs to keep you from hurting yourself until the episode has passed. But even that requires oversight. Paperwork, documentation. Getting to the point of needing chemical sedation is a near-impossibility.” 

It felt important to lay that out, if only because keeping clarity was important. 

“To be clear, your episode wasn’t dangerous. You panicked, you were disoriented. But you weren’t violent. Your mind is doing something that it’s built to do - it’s trying to protect you, that’s it. Your mind is compartmentalizing some things - like… putting certain memories or emotions into a box, if it’s too much to handle all at once.” 

The mind was an amazing, fascinating thing. Arthur had a small obsession with it, perhaps, just seeing and reading about the things it could do; even this was fascinating to him, an interesting case that he was already eager to pick apart. 

“Most people do that,” he promised. “Compartmentalize. Daydreaming, zoning out, just… putting something away, so you don’t have to think about it until later. That’s normal. But, you’d agree, this is more than ‘zoning out’. This is something that’s starting to take shape.” 

He didn’t shift again, but did keep his speech slow - kept his eyes on Marc, in case any of this set him off again. He didn’t suspect it would, there was always comfort in hearing ‘this isn’t your fault’ - but it was possible. 

“There’s something called OSDD. It’s not something that I’d call a solid diagnosis, but it also might be as far as we get.” He adjusted his glasses, jaw shifting, displeased briefly with the thought of that before he continued again. 

“Basically, it means that your brain is splitting up parts of your experiences so they don’t touch each other. You’ve got one part of you that feels like the ‘real’ you - Marc. That’s you right now. And when ‘Marc’ can’t handle something, a different part of you steps in. It’s not broken or wrong, it’s just how your brain has built itself. It’s your brain trying to help you.” 

Arthur let it sit again, for a moment. His gaze didn’t leave Marc, didn’t push, but left silence. He nodded again, his voice gentler. “I can tell you more about what that might mean. I can explain it more, or tell you what we should do next. But if you’d rather wait to talk about that, that’s okay. You’ve already handled a lot today, and I don’t want to overwhelm you.”

I find it impossible to believe she wouldn’t have tried and possibly succeeded in mixing different species with humanity. But that’s just me.

It doesn’t have to be romantic, but I do like the idea of them becoming friends because of the similarities.

Albedo would be interested to figure out how your body differs from his. Coming from the same creator also makes him wonder if you two should share a bond the way normal siblings would, but also both being test tube babies means you aren't really socialised that way so it's not like a switch is going to flip in his head, but he is still curious about it.

He wants to figure out primarily what Rhinedottir learned between the creation of you and him. It does feel very clinical for the first little bit but then after he's got most of his answers he chills out and you two are back to being whatever you were before the revelation.

Nuevillette is intrigued to find another dragon. He doesn't react in a big way but like Albedo but he does have some questions for you. He sits silently and takes in everything you're telling him, practically savouring it all as he starts to build a more coherent picture of who you are and how you got here. Other than that, it's not going to be something that he thinks about on a daily basis - unless you wanna learn how to be more dragon-like. In that case he'll offer you any knowledge he's got and explain things he can about your body if you're struggling to understand.

chapter 17 notes (finally)

Episode 1

MY GYATALICIOUS GOAT BENKEI IS THERE!! My favorite staff me ever since he’s so whimsical and silliness. Also because he’s more obvious with the dark wick lore, JUST LIKE NOW. So, based on Benkei’s assumption that Elias and MC were friends AND that he was suprised to here that Elias is working, it almost confirms that Elias is supposed to be around MC’s age, aka, a student. HOWEVER, what bothers me is that BENKEI, AN EMPLOYEE, doesn’t even know that Elias is working. Shouldn’t they all know each other? This could mean that there’s some sort of class system on what information goes to which teacher. This would further prove my point since the cats tend to treat different staff differently. They treat the teachers like coworkers while employees such as Benkei as lower class, as shown by the cat literally scolding Benkei for almost slipping up to mc. A bit of a stretch, but I like it so. 

Episode 2

I don’t like the conversation going on between Moby and the Chancellor right now…Especially since they are so discreet about EVERYTHING they say, even in private. There’s a clear teamwork between Moby, Hyde, and the Chancellor right now, and honestly, it makes me a little less suspicious of other teachers such as Dante (My goat) and Nicolaus (URGH.) but I digress. First, I want to point out power dynamics between the chancellor and Moby. Obviously, employer and employee, but it’s more than that. What type of authority does Cornelius have over all these other beings other than the fact that he has a say whether to lock them up or not? Appearance wise, he doesn’t have anything to prevent a revolution of anomalies against him. So why does HE specifically have authority. Is it a power he yields? Connections? Money? Or is this a representative situation? He acts as a placeholder for the real power in this specific branch and then notifies the bigger power on a situation in order to get a decree? I’ve been wondering this since episode 1 and still, there’s no story YET that connects to Cornelius’ role in dark wick as a whole. Next, these lines specifically between Moby and Cornelius, before they realized MC walked in:

“It only happened because Professor Hyde didn’t explain things properly when he dumped THIS on me?” -Moby

“How could I be expected to know that he STILL had the intellect to OPEN THE GATE by himself?” -Moby

This one I was a little confused with because HE can be either Hyde, which means Cornelius needs Hyde’s business trips for his plan, or the fox, which means the fox is a big disruptive force against Cornelius. If it is the fox, why refer to it as HE?? HE would imply that, yeah, this thing is a person, or at least humanoid wouldn’t it? Now, CERTAIN SOMEONE. This concerns me. If HE is Hyde, this wouldn’t really make sense right? I would assume his business trips would be shady to anyone other than the staff, so maybe that rules him out. If HE is the fox, this makes more sense. Still, why a specific person? If they were exposed to said fox, what would happen? Perhaps memories coming back?? (Cough cough Jiro, Taiga, Dante). Sighs. Idk this is so vague to debunk (hehe get it)

I guess it’s not surprising they have connections to the entertainment industry to get us in but like… why THESE GHOULS. CHANCELLOR SAID THAT THEY WERE “hand-picked” SO WHY THEM???

Yk, now that I think about it, Benkei acts a LOT like Lyca, and I think that’s why I like them so much. What I mean by that is they both act like clueless little smurfs navigating through the human world and they’re still trying to learn and improve. That’s by thing though, Why does Benkei act like that? Is that why he’s a grocer and not a teacher? Is he an anomaly? Honestly, don’t care, he’s still my goat.

Episode 17-18 

So basically, yada yada yada something about a woman wanting to direct the show of Waves of Love but couldn’t cause she died so now she’s haunting the sets. But that still doesn’t explain why people are going missing. If it really was her ghost, wouldn’t she try helping the missing people so that they can continue shooting? Or is it that she’s taking them because we’re following a script and she wants SINCERE love and not bogus? If it is the first option, is this a clear protagonist (ghost lady) vs. antagonist (I assume man that appeared in Episode 1) situation? 

Also, the pearl in the first set went unscathed and just left EVEN THOUGH we saw a cutscene of a woman (I assume is the pearl fue to her swimsuit) getting “attacked” with a guy. Huh.

Yeah it sucks that it has that sort of limit, cause then it’s just useless isn’t it? Wouldn’t you want that artifact most in these types of situations? I agree with Edward (for once) because it does , I guess, SEEM like Darkwick just gives them “bonuses” or “tools” that barely serve them any purpose. Doesn’t allow for them to do too much I guess.

“Seems pretty likely  that the anomaly is the ghost of the original producer and the cause of all this” (Jiro)

“Gotcha. If attacking us physically would use up all her power or if it’s already getting chewed up maintaining that barrier, that’d make sense” (Haru)

“She may only be able to use her full power here, on this island of Love” (Edward) 

“Right, ghosts are way more stable if they use a place or object they’re attached to as a medium” (Rui) 

Ok so I agree… with most of this so far. It would make sense since the ghost’s motive is to continue filming Waves of Love, so I that’s why she’s staying. First problem I have with the conversation is why assume she would attack us physically? Because she’s a ghost? That wouldn’t go with her goal to film Waves to Love to begin with since she wants the group to keep filming. Secondly, I have a bit of a problem with what Edward and Rui said. First off, isn’t this a different island than where they were originally filming at? ( I swear I’m not crazy) That either means she wasn’t connected to the missing people at all and they discovered a new anomaly, or two, she’s not connected to the island, but rather, the crew. If it IS the original sight, then I guess what Rui and Edward says fits. 

I hate Edward. I HATE THIS OLD WRINKLY SMELLY BAG OF FLESH I HATE HIM I HATE HIMMMMM. WHY’D YOU HAVE TO MAKE IT AWKWARD???? THIS ISN’T NICE. “You and the man you choose can leave this island” URGHHHHH. I’m automatically picking Haru, the only one I’ll feel tbad for are my boys Jin, Jiro, and Rui…

Well duh, I had to choose somebody. I was js gonna choose the worst contestant for shock value. Now what … 😔. I’m hoping you’re right Rui!! Trust there’s always another way!! See, we finally agree Ren! Irl, I probably wouldn’t date… NONE of these guys. Not that they’re not great, I js don’t like dating. Lmao “Really?” was probably just because he was curious I guess.

OK NEW TERMS: 

Neutral, Sympathizers, and Dissidents

Ed and Rui being neutral… doesn’t surprise me. They’re at a risk if they help either side. Well, in Ed’s case, it’s more entertaining to be a viewer than a participant. 

FROSTHEIM BEING SYMPATHIZERS, which I assume means on Darkwick’s side, IS NOT WHAT I HAD IN MIND.  It would make sense for the general students to be on darkwick’s side since most of them are rich. Not only that BUT THEY LED IT?? I doubt Yuri and Jin were a part of their group though, them being ghouls and all. Guess that’s another reason Yuri detests Frostheim. This just makes the relationship between Yuri and Jin sadder :(. 

Dissidents was Montkraken, which is one of the obvious ones. Yuri was probably a radical in Frostheim’s system and practically exiled. STOP THE ANGST I CAN IMAGINE BETWEEN YURI AND JIN YAYAYAY :D!!! 

“I’m a pacifist now, Jin” (Haru) Now? I mean, I assumed he was somewhat involved in the clash because of his arm… but still… Can anyone remind me if they ever said Jabberwock was a new dorm? If they didn’t mention it or they did say it, either way, we practically confirmed that Haru was from a different dorm from the last chapter, so it kinda has to be unless Towa was the only person in that dorm. Towa is… interesting. I want to believe he’s an anomaly and a ghoul, if that makes sense. Anyways, back to Haru. Haru is interesting as well. He has good ish relations with Romeo and Rui, which one is neutral… and the other? CHAT WAS IT CONFIRMED THAT ROMEO TRANSFERRED? Cause if he was in Frostheim first, then that would mean he was a sympathizer, which would explain most of his connections, especially with his trust towards Hyde. It all kinda started with Tommaso threatening Danya to leave his friend alone, but something got lost along the way, and it eventually evolved into feral kisses and bites in embarassing places, knowing gazes between interviews and public events, and somehow, Tommaso ending being balls deep into Danya in his own hotel room, poor Danya's brain a mush, effectively wiped out from any trace of Lucio, and instead being filled with Tommaso (quite literally and figuratively)

They have this weird master-puppy dynamic because we like slight BDSM dynamics over here. This means Danya has to obey Tommaso's very orders all the time, or he would be properly punished at the end of the day. Danya cannot complain, and while some of the things Tommaso asks of him are embarsssing, he would be lying if he said it wasn't all worth it

Danya likes the praise aspect of this dynamic the most. He would probably come untouched by only being called a good boy. He likes when Tommaso tells him sweet nothings, and while he would never admit it, he enjoys when he has to beg for things

On the other hand, Tommaso likes the humiliation aspect the most. He likes to ruin Danya in every possible way. Somewhat out of hatred, but also because of how enjoyably beautiful Danya looks when he is sobbing uncontrollably. He loves to make Danya cry

Things like leashes and collars and restraints are a must in a daily basis. Danya wonders where has Tommaso gotten all the things he's got in such a short notice (or did he travel with all this weird shit to Basel? He will never know). On days where Tommaso finds Danya a little bit too naughty (at first just when he was too close to Lucio for his liking, but it eventually morbidly evolved to whenever he was too close to anyone else), he restrains him on his room for a full evening, leaving Danya alone with a toy neatly shoved inside him. When Tommaso comes back to him, all Danya can think of doing is to beg him to please touch him and fuck him silly. Tommaso is pleased by how well the puppy's training is going

Tommaso likes inflicting pain, and Danya can't do much to stop him. He bites, scratched, slaps, whips with a belt, whatever Tommaso pleases. The sky is the limit as long as it's not visible and Danya can decently stand up for rehearsals and performances (the show must go on, Tommaso thinks)

Does Tommaso like Danya? That is unclear. It clearly all started just to brainwash Danya to leave Lucio alone (which worked perfectly all things considered), but he lost the plot somewhere along Danya's cute reactions whenever they have sex, or whenever Danya comes to him and silently begs for attention. Danya's brain is intoxicated by Tommaso, but the same can be said about Tommaso's with Danya.

He would have loved to show Alfons what each of these arrays did rather than settle for only explaining it. "This one here makes a basic dragon statue." He pointed to one of the more simpler arrays laid out. "It only stands about three inches tall once it's completed." His finger moved to another array. "Whereas this one here would make a large fist out of the ground."

"There's no spark or anything like that." This was the hard part to explain. Something like this was so much easier to show it. "I know it's difficult to imagine something like this since this world doesn't have alchemy, but everyone has energy inside of them and so does the earth. The circle and what's inside the array helps to draw out the energy and make it do what you want it to do." He let out a quiet sigh. "I'm sorry I can't show you how it works, but I've tried everything I can think of do alchemy in this world, and it doesn't work like that here."

Ed had often wondered why alchemy didn't work in this world. If there was some kind of block of maybe the principles of it were simply different here and he had yet to discover what they were. Regardless the end result was the same. Arrays meant nothing here. It was a shame really because if he had the ability to do alchemy he might not only be able to find a way home but also make a real difference in this world. "All of it works together. The array and the energy from yourself and the materials you're working with."

The way Alfons was wording his questions made Ed realize how farfetched this all probably sounded to Alfons. "I know how this must sound, but yes, you need the right materials for it. You can't make something like gold out of another material that doesn't have the right properties. Anything you make with alchemy has got to have the right materials for you to work with. When you picture it in your mind, you're putting it all together so that it turns out right. There were plenty of people in my world who weren't very good at alchemy and ended up destroying or messing up what they were trying to create. You have to have the focus in order to be able to do it since it's a precise science."

"Gold is it's own chemical element and not made out of anything else so you can't create gold out of lead. You can make the lead look like gold given the right materials, but it still wouldn't be gold. However, you can shape gold into an object using alchemy like a figurine or weapon." He smiled then shrugged. "There's all kinds of neat things you can do with alchemy, but you have to have the right compounds or chemicals to make what you want otherwise you'll end up getting something else."

"A blueprint," he repeated back, nodding at the much more accessible analogy. That made sense if they were talking about building something from scratch, which is what it sounded like a transmutation did. "If the circles are borders, that means everything else is contained inside of it," he mused to himself. The lines and symbols seemed to be arranged precisely in the arrays scattered across the table, so that much was consistent even if the actual arrangement varied. So the blueprint itself could be varied as long as as everything inside was contained the same way. Just like the components of a rocket could change as long as the frame remained the same.

The energy source, however, was more difficult to grasp. Alfons blinked at him blankly for a moment while he tried to make sense of it. "Channeling energy from the ground and from yourself? And that powers the arrays?" He considered this with a slight frown, unsure exactly how to interpret that. "And this circle draws out the energy?" It sounded more like a statement than a question. He tapped a finger on the array Ed had been explaining to him. "There's no...spark or flame or chemical reaction? You just need this to catalyze it?"

The whole thing was beginning to sound more supernatural than scientific, but some of the same principles he'd learned were still there. There was an energy source to start the reaction, a way to direct that energy, and a predictable, consistent result. It sounded like the end result couldn't be produced from nothing, and there was a sort of balance to it that sounded similar to chemistry. But visualizing? How did that fit in? There was no scientific process he'd ever heard of that your will could affect the result.

Alfons picked up the array skeptically and shifted the paper a few times as if looking at it from a different angle would make it make sense. "So this won't work if you don't have the right materials or if you don't picture it right?" He set it back down again and rested his elbow the table, chin on the back of his hand as he studied it for a moment. Something still didn't add up.

Suddenly an idea occurred to him. Maybe that was what didn't seem right. It contradicted what little he'd heard about alchemy before now. With a slight sigh, he continued, "So I understand about needing the right materials to make something with the same elements. That makes sense. But what about what people say about turning lead to gold like in the legends? That was one of the highest achievements in ancient alchemy. Those are completely different elements. Or is that because of how picturing this works?" It still didn't make sense, even in the context of what Ed had said, but considering Alfons's knowledge of alchemy was really just that and a vague idea of a philosopher's stone, what little he knew wasn't much to go on.
