TW: blood, implied torture, obscured torture, pain, Dottore being Dottore...Lots of Scaramouche's tears.
Dottore's segment taking liberties with Wanderer and Lumine showing up to shank him like the rat bastard he is. Did this for dear @venranae and because I have had an absolutely awful week.
This is PART ONE - PART TWO will be coming shortly and will involve less of...well...all this.

“Every star has the potential to become a black hole, James. And I’ll be damned if I let myself suck you and everyone else into oblivion with me,” Regulus says as he slowly backs up from the growing crack in the floor.
“Reg. Regulus. No, don’t do this! Please, don’t do this, we’ll find a way to save you. We will! Come back to me, please.” James is begging at this point, trying anything and everything to get Regulus back to the edge of the gaping ravine between them, back to where James can reach him.
“I’m sorry, James. Tell Sirius goodbye for me? And Remus too.”
“Regulus, don’t do this!” James yells, all but scrambling to the edges of the ravine, doing all that he can to prevent himself from falling in.
Regulus stops his slow backwards pace, a twisted and pained expression momentarily taking over his face. James doesn’t even have to see the way Regulus’ mouth forms around the first word to know exactly what he’s going to say. “Don’t. Don’t you dare do this to me Regulus.”
“I love you, James. Always have, always will. In every world, every universe, every timeline. You mean the world to me, and not a day goes by that I’m not deliriously happy at the fact that I was able to know you and love you. I just hope you can eventually forgive me for this,” Regulus finishes with a shaky breath, swallowing thickly and giving James his own signature two-fingered salute before promptly turning around and running back into the flames and debris.
“Regulus!” James screams with everything he has in him, the fear and desperation coming off his voice in waves. He continues to sit in the falling rubble around him, staring at the exact spot Regulus disappeared into, praying and hoping that his other half will come back running to him. Because that’s what Regulus is, isn’t it? He’s James’ other half, the moon to his sun, the black to his white. They go together like gasoline to a flame, but in the right environment they thrive. He doesn’t know how to live without Regulus’ sardonic remarks or dry humor, without his astute observations and their witty banter that James knows Regulus enjoys far more than he lets on. Regulus sacrificing himself is a loss he feels all the way down to the very marrow of his bones, and he knows that not a day will go by that his heart won’t yearn for that head of pitch black curly hair and icy grey eyes.
It takes Sirius, Evan and Barty coming back for him to pick him up from the floor, where he’s still calling out for Regulus. He resists against them at any chance he gets, trying with all his might to make it back to the edge of that ravine, but it’s three against one and James has been through hell and back in the past week, and the fight in him is waning quickly.
He doesn’t hear their yells until they reach the ship, all three telling him to calm down and frantically asking where Regulus went. James almost loses it again at the mention of his lost love, but all it takes is seeing Sirius’ palpable fear in his face to make him utter two simple words, over and over again. “He’s gone. He’s gone. He’s gone.”
James can hear Sirius’ pained noises, wishing with every fiber of his being that he could comfort his best friend and tell him actually, he’s coming back, don’t worry, we haven’t lost him, but Regulus isn’t coming back and they did lose him.
Regulus Black is lost and he is never coming back.

Why.
Why would you step on a beautiful flower
Why would you see a beautiful forest and set fire to it
Why can't you see beauty without wanting to destroy it
Why can't you enjoy something and let others enjoy it too
There's already so much pain
There's already so much destruction
Why do you have to make it bigger
You don't have to work for it
Why can't you see the stars without wanting to tear them down too
Why do you have to treat other humans as if they were disposable
Using them. Belittling them. Backstabbing them.
Why do you have to be cruel to the helpless
Their big eyes looking up and you step on them
Why why why do you add to the suffering
I would call it mindless destruction but you know what you are doing. You choose to. Day in and day out.

Incredibly alarming that talks of “peace” in Gaza seem to extend no further than a ceasefire. How do you think they’re gonna start off where they left off themselves? Their houses are destroyed, so many have lost mothers and fathers and brothers and children, they still have no clean water and no food. Any area Israel withdraws out of is an area it already knows has been rendered inhospitable. There was even a direct quote by some IOF soldier gleefully stating how he “wasn’t sure Palestinians could go back to their homes.” So what happens when the US “succeeds at negotiating a ceasefire”? Who will be responsible for helping the Palestinians rebuild all that they’ve lost?
