"Cannibalism as a metaphor for love is such an interesting narrative choice!" Until you add poc into the narrative and here come the millions of "think pieces" that either 1.) dehumanize them for the same thing their yte counterparts are praised and, sometimes, even...applauded for (eg. Yellowjackets and other supernatural media), 2.) or use it inappropriately to justify harm brought on to poc communities. But that's a conversation for another time.
(tw for some of the tags as well)
#tw cannibalism#like about yellowjackets even tho i enjoy the show it was very apparent how some in the fandom would highlight shauna#and the other yte characters for diving into their cannibalistic urges while demonizing tai lottie & other poc characters on the show#(also paired with ableist rhetoric)#supernatural shows vampires and zombies take a look at how fandom treats the poc vs yte characters even if they are doing the same thing#(eg. how yte vamps are often sexualized and viewed as figures of desire which wouldn't be a problem if poc vamps weren't painted as literal#villains for doing the same thing like i didn't forget how marcel from tvd was treated &#& now with louis and claudia from iwtv#& with zombies with tlou how people were talking about henry & sam read a certain way#(have you noticed how it's mainly yte zombies who get to have romantic plots as well....)#if you're wondering how this narrative translates into real life some often use it to justify harm & abuse inflicted toward poc communities#ive seen people justify what dahmer did to his victims (who were primarily black & brown) because he “loved” them#im not even going to go into how it's interesting poc communities often are labeled as cannibalistic when yte people have a history with#this (from literally eating those who were enslaved to using black people's hair & other body parts as furniture and accessories) but that#fact is often brushed over#this fact is also prevalent today bc with how the media and far right politics are demonize haitian immigrants when it was an ohio native#who was did what the media was accusing these immigrants of#(its also very telling how there was little to no fact checking they just immediately went to blame poc communities but not very surprising#tvd#tlou#yellowjackets#this is mainly an analysis#pls dni if you can't be respectful or have a collected conversation about this

All evidence Till survives (2/4)
Blink Gone Observations
1. Inconsistencies compared to previous rounds:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In every single one of these above, the image goes out quickly and then the winning contestant moves up the bracket.
Tumblr media
Till is the only exception. His image doesn't go out until after Luka's image has moved into the winning spot and it visibly flickers before it does.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After Sua, Ivan, and even background characters died, they all had large pools of blood under them.
Tumblr media
Till is the only one who does not.
2. Hiding his status from the audience
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His heart-monitoring earpiece falling out which would tell if he is alive or dead as identified by @pixelifiedcation. @tillsfan recognized the teaser emphasized the earpieces are heart monitors, which, among other reasons, could be to direct fans to this detail.
Tumblr media
@asteriass realized how the red spray paint at the bottom of Till's pants and the red soles of his shoes creates the illusion he bled out to the segyein audience. The platform is raised and the floor is reflective.
Tumblr media
Unlike previous stages, which were surrounded by the audience on all sides, Round 7 can only be viewed from the front.
Tumblr media
Till's leg and Mizi's arm obstruct the segyein's view of Till's actual injury.
Tumblr media
Combined with the misdirection of Hyuna's presence, and the excitement over Luka's win, the segyein do not notice there is no pool of blood.
3. From a medical standpoint:
There's lots of different claims people have made, so I consulted my friend who is a medical resident. After laying out the details, he concluded Till's wound is most likely a tracheal injury - not arterial. If so, Till is coughing up blood that is draining into his lungs. My friend's main reasoning is the lack of pooling up blood. The wound still needs immediate medical attention though.
Based on the chart provided by @lost-fugue, this would fall into the orange region with a 50-15% chance of survival. It can be lethal but it should be treatable.
Tumblr media
@verdantlights explained the animation team has been consistently accurate with portraying gunshot wounds.
That said, humans can survive virtually anything. They can live after being shot in the head, jumping off a high bridge, or skydiving without a working parachute. So there's no scenario in which his wound is "impossible" to survive.
Till's leg would have fallen down due to gravity since he would have no muscle tone (passive muscle contraction).
If his right foot was pinned under his left leg, then his leg could remain up even if he was dead. However, this is visual storytelling and it would be confusing, ineffective, and illogical for that to be the reason for the positioning of his leg.
Wiege Observations
The morse code at the start of the song spells out "ALIVE" as identified by @awaggaa. While this has the thematic meaning of what it means to be alive, it could also serve a literal meaning that Till is still alive.
Tumblr media
@honeybeetlejuice informed there is a heartbeat at the end of Wiege. Compared to Cure, in which Till's heartbeat was speeding up while Ivan's was slow and steady, this heartbeat is faint with long pauses between each one.

something I feel like people miss while reading stormbringer is this line from the second chapter when Dazai and Verlaine met:
'Nevertheless, Dazai continued to slaughter his enemies and serve the Port Mafia in order to force himself into an even darker place.'
So, "why does Dazai stay in the mafia for so long?"
Because he wants to be in a bad place. He wants to commit these atrocities to further dehumanise himself. He wants to alienate himself and is determined to convince both himself and everyone around him that he is a terrible thing, the 'black wraith of the Port Mafia' who had no empathy or sense of humanity.
That's why he stays in the Mafia, that's why he works so hard in the Mafia, that's why he does what he's told. He's an automated killing machine capable of planning out and causing mass destruction, and his fuel is self-hatred.
He doesn't take pride in his 'accomplishments' in the mafia because, again, he doesn't actually want to succeed in the mafia, he wants to prove he's a bad person. He's not in the mafia to try and find a reason to live anymore, his reason for that is Chuuya, he's realised he's not going to find it in the mafia, even if he's not going to admit it until the dark era.
He probably feels a sense of guilt and disgust, but refuses to acknowledge it because he thinks that as something inhuman, he isn't meant to feel things like that, and the more he does, the further he removes himself from any sense of remorse, until he doesn't feel it any more, and probably still hasn't processed even in the ADA.
He stays in the mafia, and does the things he's told with such accuracy and deadliness because he thinks it's the only thing he can do, and he can use it to prove he's no longer human.

An analysis of Emperors Geta & Caracalla from “Gladiator II”
(*SPOILERS AHEAD!!*)
Hands down they were two of the most interesting characters from this movie and they deserved more screentime but thanks to the complete script and the actors' incredible performances we can gather a lot about their personality as individuals and dynamic as brothers.
Emperor Geta
The released script has confirmed that Geta was the first to be born and we had already kinda guessed it because of the way he behaved and how other characters used to address him for important matters.
He also had a more calculating and observant nature in comparison to his brother and he was certainly calmer. Nevertheless he was power hungry, slightly unhinged, hedonistic, selfish, naive, short-sighted and uncaring and blind about his people needs. The interesting thing is that he seemed genuinely hurt by Acacius' and Lucilla's betrayal which means that he genuinely wanted their respect and loyalty.
In the script there is a deleted scene where Geta and Caracalla asked from Lucilla to adopt them as her sons, which was a common practice back then to strengthen the bloodline. The Emperors knew that they had no right to the throne, so they made this offer to Lucilla, a daughter of a well-respected Caesar. It was a clear political move, especially from Geta's part (for Caracalla it's also something else which I will get into later).
Geta was a person that despite his cruelty he craved loyalty, admiration and respect. He wanted to be loved by his people but he didn't understand that he also had to take care of them. By mercilessly continuing his conquests he had deprived the people of food. Still he tried to gain that respect by controlling Lucilla just like he said in the script “He who controls the lady of Rome controls the people”.
When the riots began after Acacius' death, Geta seemed to have reached a point of desperation and was even seen hiding his face on a curtain and crying.
His relationship with his brother was both complex and immensely interesting. In a deleted scene they can be seen bickering and arguing and it is explicitly said that they were like this every day. But there was also love from both ends and Geta seemed to genuinely worry about his brother's health. When they were children Geta used his own body as a shield to protect Caracalla from their father's blows which clearly suggests that they had an abusive childhood and ever since then he had always protected him. It's also most certain that he didn't want Caracalla's health problems to become known in the empire and when Acacius' betrayal was revealed Geta was the one that calmed Caracalla's outburst which can also mean that this wasn't his first time restraining him. It was also interesting that when Geta lashed out at Caracalla and threw wine at his brother's face he seemed to be regretful after the anger slowly left him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All those arguments that happened every day never made Geta love his brother less and even voiced his great concern for him to Macrinus about how he gets worse every day. Caracalla could be even slowly dying from his various diseases and Geta felt helpless.
When Caracalla attacked him the script said that Geta wasn't entirely surprised because he had experienced these kind of moods before. Therefore it's not improbable for Caracalla to have physically attacked Geta in the past. Even at that moment the latter seemed to reach his brother and almost made him change his mind but Macrinus showed up and ended everything.
Geta was really having a huge burden on his shoulders: His responsibilities as a ruler which he proved unable to fulfill and his role as a big brother who had to protect and care for his little brother. A role which he also failed because he underestimated Caracalla's insecurities and put his trust on the wrong person.
Emperor Caracalla
Caracalla was the one that had completely lost his sanity thanks to his various illnesses. The script has confirmed that he suffered from syphilis and lead poisoning and that's a lethal combination. And yes, both diseases can affect the brain:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Caracalla was shown to be impulsive, unpredictable, short-tempered, bloodthirsty and was neither clever nor perceptive as shown when he displayed joy at Lucius for killing his champion after loudly refusing the Emperors' mercy (an outrageous act at the time) and his inability to understand Macrinus' schemes and lies.
He was naive and behaved in a childlike manner which was unbecoming of an Emperor. He was also very hedonistic and seemed more absorbed into enjoying the pleasures and luxuries of his position (sex, food, drink etc.). He, furthermore, appeared to be even more promiscuous than his brother having both male and female concubines around him. In a deleted scene he was seen going with his brother and their concubines to their bedrooms which means they fucked in the same room and shared their concubines. Caracalla invited even Macrinus to their bed to show them his “might”. Even Geta was like "bro chill".
I found his relationship with Lucilla interesting. Apparently he appeared to have a special interest for her:
Tumblr media
Lucilla could know this since she tried to reason with him not to kill Acacius and when she was ready to be thrown into the arena herself, he was hesitant to do it and even asked Macrinus if this was necessary (If you ask me he was ready to hit that milf)
But that doesn't mean that he also didn't feel jealousy and anger for the love that the Roman people had for her. In his own words “We give them everything. What has she given them?”. Poor Caracalla didn't understand that his unpopularity came from the way his father took the throne while Lucilla was the daughter of a beloved Caesar. He certainly wasn't the brightest in the room since he failed to comprehend that his disinterest for the people made him unpopular thanks to his famous movie line “They can eat war!”.
His monkey, Dondus, was his comfort animal. He loved and cared for it. It was his companion and friend. It brought him joy and in return he spoiled it with food, clothes and even the seat of the First Consul. He was highly protective of it and, in a deleted scene, he even shouted at Geta for the latter's treatment of it.
But his relationship with his brother was the most engaging one. Apparently Caracalla was having delusions about Geta. He claimed that he tried to kill him by asphyxiating him in the womb with the umbilicus (something that is probably unlikely since it's impossible to remember something like this) and that he always lies to him. It's more possible that the diseases had heavily affected his brain and made him forget or alter things. The script even calls it "dementia" which is something really sad to have at such a young age.
Caracalla felt inferior to his brother and he never had anything that was completely his. He suffered from insecurities and when he presented himself as Emperor to the Senate he said: “Now I am the only one. I was the true us, and he was the false me. We were always "we", all our lives, but now I am only I, me, alone”. (Which is a badass line and we got robbed but that's a talk for another day)
When he cut his brother's hand and smiled I believe he did as if to say "look he bleeds" and probably because he felt relief in finally hurting him the way his brother "hurt" him all that time. But in the end he couldn't do it. He couldn't kill his brother and showed not only hesitation but also got teary-eyed by Geta's words. If Macrinus wasn't there to help, Geta would be able to reason with him.
But it's kind of peculiar how he claimed that “My hand held the blade, but my Father's hand guided mine. I was the puppet, dancing on his string” (rip to another amazing quote) even though their father was abusive. We can only blame this to his insanity.
Sadly, Caracalla seemed to worsen mentally after his brother's death as the script also said.
He couldn't even remember what he had done.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And something else which also points to his insecurity is the throne which he picked to sit on the final game:
Tumblr media
In his final moments he felt the same way Geta did: helpless and afraid.
Died alone on his brother's throne.
(special shoutout to Joseph Quinn and Fred Hechinger. They were given so little screentime and yet they delivered thanks to their incredible work 🛐)

I'm not really fond of the idea of Amy "toning down" her affections towards Sonic as a way to show she's "grown and matured," because I ultimately feel it removes a core part of her character (that being she's openly affectionate and touchy-feely with those she's close to and isn't ashamed of it). And it's not even a trait that she only shows or directs towards Sonic; she's done so with other characters as well.
And while I do understand why some would find this specific trait of hers annoying or overwhelming, it's still ultimately an important part of her character and is what makes her stand out against all other Sonic characters. It's both a positive characteristic and a flaw, depending on how you personally look at it.
But the other reason I feel having her hold back her affections in some faux attempt to seem more "grown up," is that Sonic himself wouldn't even want or like her doing that anyways.
Yes, Sonic has shown that he gets flustered and overwhelmed with her actions at times, not really knowing how to respond or react to her sincere proclamations of love. But he's never wanted her to stop doing it or tried to take away her freedom to do so. That's who Sonic is and what he believes in, that people should have the freedom to live their life as they please, so long as it doesn't harm anyone or take away anyone else's right to do the same.
Amy hugging him and singing his praises doesn't harm him or anyone else, nor does it prevent him from doing what he wants to do. She doesn't want to "tie him down" like some falsely claim. She understands that he'll always be running, always be going on adventures, and always be stopping Eggman's plans. And nowhere has Amy ever stated that she wants Sonic to change or slow down for her. Quite the opposite, in fact. If anything, Amy just wants to be alongside Sonic, going on adventures with him.
And the same can be said for Sonic. He doesn't want Amy to stop being who she is or to change just to appease others. That goes directly against his own beliefs and views on life. If Sonic were to learn that Amy toned herself down because she thought it was what he wanted, I'd imagine he'd be horrified and want her to follow her own heart, not his.
I'm all for Amy growing and maturing, but not at the expense of her changing the very core of her character and who she is as a person. She wouldn't want that. Sonic wouldn't want that. The mere concept goes against the very theme of what the games are about.

Till and Mizi were a doomed narrative...
...and I don't mean 'oh they could never be together'. I mean that it was doomed to be failed friendship from the start because both were shit at communication.
Till always had issues talking to other people, we know this. He is specified to be a genius loner who likes to keep to himself. Most of the time, another person had to initiate the conversation for Till to talk. Even then, it was short and limited.
He was always flustered around Mizi as well, and he couldn't verbalize his feelings for her in their true form. He was eventually able to write a song that encapsulated those emotions, that was a long time after. He seems to be mostly limited when it comes to his words outside of music, which means he sucks at communicating any of his feelings.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Mizi went through a traumatic event that influenced the way he viewed the unrequited love people had for her. Specifically that from men. She could never communcate these thing, except specify time and again that she was in love with Sua. However, she would never outright confront those feelings because she was scared she would get hurt by someone she thought of as a friends again.
Tumblr media
Till and Mizi could never have been as good friends as they couldve been if they had just had better childhoods. Better experiences. Better communication skills.
But ironically enough, this same factor seems to play into how Mizi trusts Till a bit more than she would the other boys who liked her. Because she asked him outright why he liked her, right after specifying she only loved Sua. She gets an answer that seems shallow, which breaks her a bit again. But she still seemed to trust Till to give her an answer and not push her.
Maybe this could have also been because Till was meek around Mizi, and didn't see. capable of hurting her. But I do believe that Mizi cared about Till enough that she didn't fully categorise him with the other guys who liked her. He was on a blurred boundary of that circle, not truly in but neither truly out.
Till loved Mizi and Mizi was aware of this. Mizi was also under the belief that the only reason Till liked her was because she was pretty. Despite this, she still went out of her way to try and be friends with him constantly.
Maybe Mizi still had that vague fear that Till would treat her the same as the boy from the comic did. But I also thing she was aware to some extent that Till wouldn't actually do that. She had a fear that influenced her actions, her personality and even her view of people.
This is all a theory and assumption though. There doesn't seem to be any definitive proof. But I do like the idea that Ivan, Till, Mizi and Sua had a bond with each that was unique to them. And that maybe if things were different, they all couldve been actual friends who were more honest.

While listening to Epic, I noticed an interesting pattern with how antagonists are portrayed, and how Odysseus’ interactions with them are coded.
In Epic, the monsters Odysseus faces are rarely fighting for their own sake. Polyphemus attacks Odysseus’ crew to avenge his sheep, and Poseidon destroys his ships as revenge for his son’s suffering. Similarly, Circe only threatens Odysseus to protect her nymphs. Odysseus does not kill any of these enemies, and while he is occasionally criticized for letting them go free, the overall implication is that he did the right thing by sparing them.
Then we hit the Thunder Saga, and Odysseus begins his arc as a ‘monster’ by killing the sirens. His actions here are brutal, and whether or not they are justified is, I think, up to the listener. However, it’s significant that the sirens are the first foes Odysseus faces on his journey who aren’t either defending or avenging what they love. They attack unprovoked, and while Odysseus’ method of execution is gory, he is never punished for it by other characters within the narrative. Apollo is the only one to protest, and even he is swayed easily when Athena says (among other things) that the sirens were “trying to do him worse.” The sirens attacked first, and while Odysseus’ response was ‘monstrous,’ his crew obeyed his commands and he was not challenged or ostracized for giving said commands. He is only treated as a monster when he yields to Scylla, who also attacked without provocation.
Thus, in Epic, the monsters fighting to protect or avenge their loved ones are protected by the very story - killing them may be more convenient, but it isn’t the answer. However, the monsters who attack without provocation, for their own amusement or satisfaction, do not receive such respect. Killing them is acceptable, and cooperating with them is monstrous.
By this logic, Odysseus is justified in his actions, however atrocious. He attacks to protect his family, and therefore deserves mercy.
The suitors, on the other hand…

Like or dislike John Walker that’s fine, but I find it weird how people feel the need to make up fake scenarios in their heads to add to their discomfort with him. “He’s an abuser” Where is that shown though? Didn’t he literally punch Bob’s abusive father with his shield after seeing his memories???
I think fans in general today don’t understand character development or think a character that starts off bad can’t change, plus isn't the movie about the Thunderbolts trying to overcome the darkness of their past in order to become better people? Let characters grow.

criticizing christianity and religion as a whole in a castlevania adaptation is NOT a bad thing
Im genuinely so sick of ppl who say "netflixvania bad because they use castlevania to criticize christianity when castlevania is a pro christian game" when that is like such a surface level read of castlevania as a whole, like im convinced you either only play the nes games or play the rest of the series constantly skipping the dialogue and story beats,
castlevania doesn't always portray religious people or religious leaders in a good light,
lisa died being burned at the stake by the townspeople because they believe she's a witch,
the belmonts pre castlevania 3 were exiled because of their powers and are only summoned to help as a last resort,
sypha has to hide her true identity due to being a witch,
Isaac's character could be interpreted as an allegory for religious fanaticism (doesn't wanna think for himself, believes he can only be happy by serving a higher power, caused mass hysteria that lead to someone being burned at the stake, he even died for said higher power) (idk if allegory is the right term but ig he also serve as a sort of parody considering his "religion" in this allegory would just be dracula)
barlowe is a priest who abuses his power over shanoa and albus to revive dracula, hell ooe in general has a lot of themes of cult abuse and shanoa's amnesia could be read as an allegory for cult brainwashing,
there's more thru out the games but listing them all would take forever, my point still stands that castlevania doesn't always portray religion, religious people, or religious leaders in a positive light,
while yes, castlevania took a lot of influence and aesthetics from christianity, castlevania is NOT a purely pro christian game,
hell id even argue castlevania is actually the perfect series to criticize religion with,
castlevania 3 especially because the 4 playable characters are literally those the church and authority figures wouldve hated,
trevor is an exile, sypha is a witch who even has to hide her true gender, grant is a thief who we can assume came from a poor background, alucard is literally the son of dracula and is part vampire,
you could strengthen this theme by following it with curse of darkness, hector and isaac facing discrimination from presumably religious people because of their "dark magic" and being swayed to evil because of that,
my problem with netflix castlevania's (im just talking the first 4 seasons not nocturne cuz i haven't watch it) way of portraying religious discrimination (and bigotry too for that matter) is the fact that it's done in such a shallow way with literally 0 nuance,
the church is just comically evil, the common religious folk are usually portrayed as stupid and backwards, the only people who aren't like that are those who dont believe in god or dont actively practice religion (isaac probably the only exception but tbh they handled him so weird i could talk abt it longer later as someone who is raised muslim and has complicated feelings regarding islam now),
no exploration on how people are persuaded into religious beliefs or how the authority and government use it to justify discrimination and spread propaganda or even anything about Dracula's hypocrisy considering there's several times in the games that imply he actively deifies himself (the forgemaster uniform resembling priest uniforms, his followers usually being cultists, shaft and barlowe being priests that worship him)
no, just the most smug reddit atheist argument of "christians are dumb and im smart because science" it's genuinely so vapid it's annoying
the problem with nfcv isn't that it "criticize christianity" it's problem is that it never got deep or try hard enough to do so

TBOB has actually really interesting insights onto Bill's character and his relationship with Ford/how he sees himself in him
bc now we know that Bill actually DIDNT want to destroy his home dimension, and had a family he cared about... but then after that, he fell in with a crowd (his Henchmaniacs) that were all angry and spiteful towards their worlds, and had no families (they are all either orphans or hate their families), and they hear that Bill destroyed his 'oppressors', and for the first time in his life Bill hears "wow your differences actually make you COOL and HELPFUL"
and over time 'revenge' starts to mean 'blowing up anyone that doesn't like us' and 'accidentally destroyed his dimension' becomes 'liberated his dimension' and 'i have no one' becomes 'i dont need anyone!'- but the nightmare dimension is Unstable and falling apart and Bill has to Keep The Party Going or else he loses all his coolness and all his power
And then he tries and tries to manipulate people into building the portal but it all fails bc he actually sucks until he meets Stanford Pines, who is so easy to manipulate because Bill knows exactly what he wants to hear because its what he himself wanted to hear...and Ford is bitter and vengeful and that makes Bill start to consider him as more than a pawn, possibly even a henchmaniac, he tells him about how DEVASTATED he was to lose his home dimension, even if he went 'no contact' with them and was an outcast and an Other, he still misses home...
...and so when ford finds out the portal will destroy his home, of COURSE he turns around and thinks about his family, even though he 'doesnt have anyone'. Bill expects Ford to enable him, as all the other henchmaniacs did, but Ford stands up to him and it triggers Bill so badly because he sees this man as basically who he was at the beginning and it challenges the image of himself he's built in his mind, because he KNOWS back then that he wouldnt have destroyed his own dimension on purpose! And the only thing he knows how to do anymore is to crush anything that hurts him, because unlike anyone else Ford is able to hurt him.
and thats why he needs to be in therapy for basically forever

Anakin’s love and marriage to Padmé wasn’t the issue of why he fell to the dark side. He was already being groomed by Palpatine in becoming his apprentice, and Padmé not being there wouldn’t have changed that. She just made it easier. Anakin was born a slave, which doesn’t leave him in the right headspace, and ever since Shmi died, Anakin became more unstable. Inevitably, he became more obsessed with control and wanting the power to stop the ones he loves from dying. Had Padmé not been in his life, Anakin still would have fallen due to Palpatine’s manipulations and topped with the Jedi’s mistreatment of Anakin. The Jedi and even OW failed Anakin in a way where Anakin came to a point where he doubts their faith in him, and he in return loses his trust him them. He says so himself in the ROTS novel. None of that had anything to do with Padmé.
But to insinuate that Anakin only cared for gaining “power” and essentially his “greed” is to blame for his actions, is super reductive understanding of his character. Yes, Anakin was greedy for control, and power. But not because he’s power hungry and wants to rule the galaxy. He only ever wanted more power to keep his loved ones safe, to assume control over what happens to him. (and this would’ve happened even if he and Padmé weren’t together.) saying that if Anakin “truly cared about saving his wife”, he would have told OW or any of the masters about his situation but didn’t because he was “greedy” is again, incorrect. Because Anakin DID go to the Jedi for advice. He talked to Yoda. Anakin put his faith into the Jedi but they didn’t exactly lead him down the path he needed.
Doubled with the fact that he knows the Council doesn’t trust him, and him not being sure he can trust them, (yes, including OW.) this led him to seeking answers in other and more dangerous places. Which was Palpatine. Whom Anakin is already vulnerable to and was being groomed by. Anakin’s fall to the darkside was due to his desperation and desire to save his wife, the love of his life. Not because he was greedy for more power and that he didn’t truly care about saving Padmé. That’s just a bad analysis of his character, intentions, and motivations. Anakin only became obsessed with the idea of “gaining power to rule and obtain authority” happened AFTER he fell. And that’s because the darkside plays with your sanity like that, makes you want and do things you normally wouldn’t do or want.
The main point is: Anakin’s fall doesn’t stem from his greed for wanting power because he seeks heroism, status, and authority. It was out of genuine love and desperation for his wife. Then again, his marriage to Padmé also isn’t to blame for his fall, because that was due to Anakin’s own fear of loss and abandonment. He would’ve fallen under any circumstance, with how unstable, vulnerable, and manipulated he was. That was the tragedy. He was always doomed to fall.

A thought I have pretty often but don’t have the brain to properly express is the fact that between the Girlymatsu’s and the regular matsu’s the only one who doesn’t share her signature color with her counter part is Osoko.
Tumblr media
Like obviously it’s in the back of her intro card, and it’s Osoko so we know red is supposed to be her color.
She wears red in all the added merch and bonus content too. Off the top of my head there’s the Jyushimatsu dolphin episode, Tabimatsu, and hesokuri wars. All of which she wears red unless it’s a special set or she changes back into her work uniform.

It could really be nothing, but it always kind of threw me off. All the other girls get their signature color, why not Osoko?
Even if it’s in a subtle way they could’ve done it. Like with the pine pattern on ichiko’s dress or Jyshiko’s bright blonde hair and colored contacts.
Osoko’s makeup is more pink than it is red. So where’d her red go? I had a few thoughts on this so I’m gonna spit some shit.
1. Shes trying to blend in
In the episode she’s introduced in, she gives this big talk about how woman are supposed to be. Being independent, knowing when not to let other men pay for you, being young and approachable. She says all this but so easily snaps the next second. My only guess for why she snaps so quick is because she does that with friends.
With her friends Osoko has no problems being angry, making faces, yelling at them, etc. We don’t know how she is outside of her friend group, but from the way she describes herself it doesn’t seem like she acts the same around everyone.
Osoko is a working woman, she has to be all those things to survive the work place. Bold, but not too bold. Red is a very bold color.
Red lipstick is mature, but it also might hint at promiscuity for some older folk and people who like to talk shit. Meanwhile pink is a more cuter and toned down version of red, that’s why Osoko wears it as makeup instead. She wants to come off as light and fun and cute when that’s not who she really is.
2. She wants to seem younger
It’s brought up a couple times and the show kind of hints at it, but Osoko and Karako are supposed to be the older so believe.
They dress more mature and scold the others for being immature, and the comment jyushiko makes about them being old and unable to have children looks like it seriously pisses them off.
Osoko talks about youth a lot in her first episode, especially about how it makes her seem cuter. You’d think it would be a Todoko thing, but Osoko mentions it more than once when she talks. Meaning being cute and young (compared to her older male coworkers) instead of being headstrong or beautiful, is important to her.
Tumblr media
Karako wears red heals and red lipstick but I think that’s just her style. She is bold, her personality is loud and just like how Karamatsu likes wearing shades and leather jackets to seem like a cool guy, Karako probably wears red to show maturity and maybe even a bit of sensuality.
Meanwhile Osoko, who doesn’t like the fact that she’s getting older, wears a more youthful color. Being pink. Even putting it on her cheeks to add to the youthful look.
3. Identity crisis
Pretty much everyone knows about Osomatsu’s identity issues. He very obviously has no personality of his own and it shows- mainly in the fact that while everyone has their own casual outfits that show off their identity, Osomatsu still wears the family symbol on his plain red hoodie.
I don’t think the girlymatsu’s are supposed to be sisters, they call each other friends and have never been mentioned to be related. They are all very visually distinct from each other, and their personalities are on full display all the time in just how they dress.
There would be no need for the girlymatsu’s to wear distinct colors because there would be no need to differentiate them from each other.
The show does it anyway, obviously, because fuck it why not it’s cute- but again, Osoko doesn’t.
It could be because, like Osomatsu, Osoko has no idea who she truly is. She pours herself into this older sister persona to lure men in (her words), but she’s loud and crude and judgmental when separated from that.
Just like how Osomatsu makes his family his identity, I think Osoko makes work her identity. She wears her work clothes out and about, even when she’s on vacation. In season 2 when she dresses out of her wet suit she’s in her uniform again- and we know nothing about her personal life, not even in the small tidbits we get from the other characters.
I truly think identity issues is something every version of Osomatsu is faced with. Even if it’s not that, idk I just think it’s interesting. If you made it this far, kiss kiss.
Live laugh love Osoko.

I find this so cute, oh my God. For context, Ellery Queen is a detective from a book series and is more of a series you read about if you're already into the detective genre. I'm guessing she was going to explain more about how the "dying message" was featured in the book The Scarlet Letters and would use it as an example on how it relates to the case.
We know that Kirigiri does love reading, and probably reads a whole bunch of detective fiction as a result. I wouldn't be surprised if she's a big nerd and shows how much she loves specific media only when prompted or given reason to such as with murder investigations. I can imagine Kirigiri was so ready to explain the book's plot significance and how it connects to the murder, but the moment she realized Makoto has no clue what book series she's talking about, she immediately crammed that information back and deemed it unneeded.
Like oh my God, no, Kirigiri, you're talking to Naegi "I love watching movies and tv shows" Makoto, you can ramble about your favorite detective novels he won't mind

After watching dogman and learning more about petey, his past and his criminal / villan life but still got a very good redemption and a chance to do good and be loved and happy again.
And all i could think was how that option and opportunity was took away from the league of villans in mha. And i got so sad, like i been constantly thinking "it wouldn't be nice if shigaraki redemption treated like this?" "It would've been so cool if toga had this chance to be this loved"
I KNOW it sounds like an ass-pull comparison (and it probably is) but fuck with me ok? I miss them and im searching them in everyone.
I can make comparison between pretty much every member with petey, they all have abusive family members, they got into crime, they're rejected by society but only petey character is managed with compassion and care to let him live and not just letting him killing himself or "save" with death...
And ik dogman is a childrens book and mha is for teenagers but they're both supposed to have positive and hopeful messages and both are about humanize its main villans that are unperfect victims of abuse and their circumstances, however one treats this with care in a touching and smart way and the other don't, and acts obtuse to it's own ideas giving us a bad resolution for it's villans and the heroes.

I honestly love the Old Man Gerson fight cause it's the perfect old man mentor fight he has so many underhanded tricks that feel like they're the most fair tricks in the entire game. Each attack feels like it's brimming with personality. Even though the whole battle is a pretty good challenge you can really tell he's holding back the whole time. He's not a god or omni-potent knight, he's just a cooky grandpa that wants to pass on his legacy.
Even when he was fighting the Titan he seemed care free and just excited to finally go "all out" with his (adoptive) granddaughter
plus he ends his fight saying fanfiction is cool and destiny is not set in stone
the objectively greatest character in all of fiction no debate
