pairing. bf!treasure x reader genre. established relationship, fluff <//3 and crack (??) word count. 1.7k author's note. this has been sitting unfinished in my drafts for so long omg.. thank u to that one anon for remembering it existed and sending me an ask about it lmao! i had gotten this idea randomly thinking about clingy junkyu and then boom... this mess of a reaction slash headcanon slash idk thing came to life. hope u enjoy! it was also an excuse to use those photos of doyoung cz hes so cutie pie in them

fall asleep cuddling, drift apart while sleeping, wake up, notice you’re not cuddling, start cuddling again, and repeat - hyunsuk

hyunsuk gives off healthy mature long-term relationship vibes to me okay. i feel like a lot of couples that have been together for a while end up not cuddling while sleeping but rather get into their own comfortable sleeping positions, and then throughout the night, even though you’re so sleepy you’re barely conscious, when you realize that you’re not cuddling, you scooch back into each other’s arms. he always hits snooze on the alarm at least once in the morning just to get ten extra minutes of being with you before having to get up.

you both wake up stinky and sweaty every single time - jihoon

and it's because the two of you fall asleep in your cuddling position (usually you as the little spoon or resting your head on his chest, but you force him to let you spoon him sometimes), and then you don't. move. not an inch. if it gets too hot, one of you throws the blankets away, or gets rid of their pajama pants, or regains enough consciousness during the night to turn the fan on, but under no circumstances will you break away from your cuddling position - unless it is to get into another cuddling position, of course. it's quite nice, but it means that morning showers are obligatory, because you both smell atrocious after a night of being stuck to each other like glue on paper.

a big portion of your time hanging out with junkyu is spent napping. something that surprises you every time is how even though he isn’t the touchiest of boyfriends, if you fall asleep cuddling, you literally cannot move unless you wake him up and make him let you go. forget going to the toilet when you wake up in the morning or getting a snack during your afternoon nap: if junkyu has you in his grip, you cannot escape. he doesn’t even seem to notice: he just wakes up with an innocent smile on his face, saying “oh, you’re awake, y/n?” even though you’ve been trying to discreetly untangle yourself from him for the past thirty minutes.

now i could NOT tell you why but jaehyuk gives me like… snorer and drooler vibes 😭 but like in a cute way okay… once he falls asleep he’s just out like a light, he can’t help it. he’s like those cartoon characters that sleep with their mouths wide open and there’s a bit of saliva at the corner of their lips. and they’re very light snores that are fun to record and embarrass him with. if you didn’t love him so much, it might give you the ick. but anyways, in terms of cuddling i see him as a mix of everyone above in a way; he loves both holding you close to him and being in your arms, he loves both rubbing your back or you playing with his hair, he loves falling asleep while cuddling but he’s also happy if you need more space and just have, like, your feet or hands touching. as long as you’re next to him he knows he’ll sleep well <3

any asahi lore expert such as myself will know that asahi is a very light sleeper. i think for him cuddling is more of an activity than a way of falling asleep if that makes sense? like he’ll do it when you’re watching something, or when you’re talking and want to be physically close at the same time, but he just can’t fall asleep while cuddling. he also sweats easily, so the added warmth would just make it not fun for him 😭he’d do it for you if you really wanted it, but he’d rather just hold hands while sleeping or something like that. you’d also feel sorry for him with how often he woke up during the night, even if it was just for a few seconds, everytime you moved around too noisily or snored. he also always wakes up before you, and you’d need to have a conversation with him about how you’d rather wake up with him next to you rather than wake up without him, only to find him in the kitchen making breakfast for you :( he just wants to do something nice for him, but you’d rather be able to kiss him first thing in the morning!!!! sorry my bias is showing a bit

oh this boy 😭 if he falls asleep after you or wakes up before you, you just know he's going to be propping himself up on his elbow, gazing down at you with soft eyes and a fond smile because you're just the prettiest person in the world to him, and there's nothing else he'd rather be looking at. and he isn’t rattled in the slightest if you catch him doing it, too. he'll just smile wider and say "hey, baby" or "sleep well?", that fucker. it's lowkey creepy, but it's doyoung, so it's okay. it’s a bit jarring at first, locking eyes with someone right when you wake up, but you get used to it. i see him as similar to jaehyuk in the sense that he’s happy to fall asleep, cuddling or not cuddling, in whatever way you prefer. he’d probably like to fall asleep facing you so that he could see your face right as he woke up (in a lovely, enamored way, not in a creepy way!) 👍

jeongwoo seriously gives me tired all day until it's time to go to bed vibes, like he'll usually be chill with bursts of energy here and there but in the evening he's like a cat with the zoomies. it's like 11pm and you're just trying to fall asleep because you have class or work the next day but your boyfriend is bouncing all over the room and talking a hundred words a minute, keeping you awake way past your bedtime. it's kinda cute sometimes, but most of the time, you want to suffocate him with your pillow. usually, though, he'll calm down if he sees you're really tired, or if you force him to stay in your arms and start threading your hands through his hair or rub patterns against his back - that really calms him down. he becomes super quiet instantly and can even fall asleep like that. but dear lord, when that alarm rings the next morning, you do not want to talk to him for the following fifteen minutes. he is so grumpy and sleepy in the morning, i just know. it's impossible to get him out of bed and you've just learnt to get up yourself and wait for him to wake up - although it's better to check that he hasn't fallen back asleep (which he usually has). he just keeps groaning for five more minutes and buries his head in his pillow to block the light out, but if you press a kiss to his cheek or forehead, that usually gets him to open his eyes and start smiling, then ask for a proper good morning kiss on the lips. this kid is annoying as hell, but you wouldn't have it any other way.

forgets his size and rests his whole body on you - haruto

haruto is like those big dogs that have no idea they're so big and wonder why they can't just lay on top of you. “it's because you're suffocating me, ruto! you're too heavy to rest your whole weight on me.” when you'd told him that, he pouted so hard and had seemed so genuinely upset that you apologized, took him back in your arms and simply neglected your need to breathe for a little longer. he is also one hundred percent that guy who will deny wanting cuddles or any sort of skinship, but if you don’t give it to him, he will be mad at you. if you do give it to him, he’ll pretend he doesn’t like it. you just have to be a mind reader, i guess. all this to say that even if he doesn’t tell you outright, haruto definitely wants to cuddle to sleep. sure, you can fall asleep in his arms if you really want (he loves it), but he’d rather fall asleep on you like yoshi does, even though he’s way too heavy for that.

you fight every time you have to decide who gets to be the little spoon - junghwan

my son.. do you guys know that “thank you myson!” jimin meme… anyways… junghwan might have buffed up over the years but do not get him wrong, that man is a little spoon until the day he dies. if you are also the little spoon, you will have to fight. simple as that. you can decide if it’ll be a tickle fight, an argument where you try to prove why you defend to be the little spoon more, or an actual fist fight (you might lose though), you’ll have to settle it one way or another. no matter how much both of you try to deny it, you love it either way anyway. as much as you love the feeling of his arms around you, there’s something about holding such a big man in your arms like he’s half the size that he is.

Reader could literally sleep for days- no eating, no drinking, just sleep. He can fall asleep in the most random places too.... Like the character(s) find reader asleep in a fucking tree so they wake him up and then half an hour later they find him asleep under a table. The only time reader can reliably stay awake is when he is doing something important or when he is spending time with the characters <3 (Aka, doing something important)

• Tokka - I don’t mind it if it’s them getting together as adults! Definitely not horrible and most Tokka shippers are relatively chill! I like to think Sokka sees Toph as a little sister tho.

Now For Some Of The Crackship-y/Less Popular Ships (based on ships I’ve actually seen):

• Zukki (Zuko/Sokka/Suki) - Power throuple fr and I love some polyamory!! While I mostly lean plain Zukka, this is extremely fun to think about and would be a great dynamic!

• Mai/Ty Lee/Suki - Saw this in a Zukka fic once and it was adorableeeeee! I may not have plans to actively write this or anything, but it’s cute! Another power throuple!

• Jetko - I don’t think they would be compatible long term, but by god they are very very fun to think about in a “Jet flirts with Zuko and Zuko is completely oblivious and they share one kiss before everything goes to shit” way lmao!

• Taang - I can respect it!! I will always love them as chaos siblings personally, but it’s a totally valid and chill ship!

• Azutara - I’m very neutral on this lmao. I don’t despise it at all and it could be pretty interesting?? But tbh really not something I plan to seek out.

• Tyzula - I see the potential, but I personally think Mai and Ty Lee had a healthier and more interesting and more realistic dynamic. Just my preference tho!

(and his southern accent may or may not have awakened something in me)

2. avior - is it obvious i like tragic characters yet . his series is one of the first ones i've listened to fully, and the chokehold that the plot twist had on me was insane . the realization that he had loved starlight so much that he deus ex machina'd them out of the hellscape, and then was silently YEARNING when they were pulled back . i was sobbing you don't understand officer. also love his early sarcastic personality (despite it being a facade) and his constant need to wax poetic, i wish we still saw a little bit of that in his newer audios though

3. guy - ohh the love of my life . the only comfort character ever . babygirl . he does exude millennial cringe sometimes but i can gloss over all that because i love him  🫶🫶🫶 also love his dynamic with honey they r so cute together . his flashback audio is so good AUGGHH the tension . personal favorite audio of him though is his first sick video , because i am THE guy angst enthusiast and it's the closest i'll ever get to it . he is sooo silly idc i always binge his playlist when i can't sleep (ironically i always listen to the one where he attempts to help honey sleep and it works 🫶)

4. lasko - babygirl #2 🤞🤞🤞 love him he is just an overall sweet character . i've also said this before but, him being labelled early on as submissive irked me because i usually found those character tropes annoying and they tended to be infantilized . but the thing is with lasko its not his entire characterization , he's still a very good professor at the academy and ughhhqhh i know how 2explain it i jst love him (also. his slip up in the hot boi summer audio. he is freaky .)

5. geordi - his and cutie's story is so interesting . i love their storyline so much even if it hurts to listen to the audios . they're both flawed characters in a relationship but they're still taking the necessary steps to be better. additionally, while i definitely don't stand for the shit cutie did, i can relate to them in the sense of needing to know what people are thinking to function properly, which is probably another reason why geordi and his storyline hits so close to my heart . (is that corny. maybe)

6. asher - one of the reasons im in the fandom tbh !! he's one of the first characters i got into, specifically his valenweek flashback audio i ate that shit up . . i don't listen to him that much now but still !!! i owe me being here to his character lol

7. hush - creature/babygirl . i was kinda intimidated to listen to his playlist (for god's sake his title is "mysterious stranger") but ohhhh i love him he is so strange. tying doc up in one video and then asking them to hold his hand a few videos later??? love that . him showing up in carpe deus and fucking wrecking vega kinda sealed it for me . love theorizing about him too, if that's not obvious 🫶

8. porter - when i heard the voice that this character had. i can't even explain to you what my reaction was . he's such a fucking diva i love it so much , this guy is like 80% snark, and he just fucks with vincent for no reason .(when he said he was gonna bring treasure to the summit but didn't 😭) he's also so interesting . while ya he was sent to go to the summit and assassinate a clan king (which he succeeded in) he told sweetheart about the bennets discussing their partnership with closeknit so they could get necessary info, he provided an alibi for vincent, he also stopped grilling sam when darlin told him to . (also his 2nd video with treasure . killed me tbh)

9. marcus - not proud to admit that marcus is the first character i came across on erik's channel . marcus is weirdo number 1 (derogatory) and i just find his storyline so interesting. yeah its sad why he did what he did, but overall he knew what he was doing , he fucked everyone else over, and compromised a project, of which the failure could mean life and death, just because he wanted to get freaky with the robot . his obsession and little impulse control being overrun by the asset's obsession with him. GOD . . the satisfaction i felt when he was taken away 🫶

10. caller - weirdo (compliment) . again as a horror enthusiast i love this guy . he's like ghostface but if ghostface could phase through walls/was already in your house (and also weird and obsessive) . his audio made me have the same reaction when watching horror content : "holy shit i love this but also i hate this" 10/10 . he's only last because he has one (1) video . 💔

I have a rant regarding Usopp in the live action, one thing I noticed (and infuriated me) is the many many new fans that inmediatly "clocked" Usopp as the Straight Character™ and are therefore like "well I don't care about straight characters, so im going to ignore him, teehee" and AHHHH FIRST OF ALL IF YOU KNEW THE BISEXUAL VIBES THIS MAN EXUDES, and I don't even want to blame the Kaya kiss because it was cute and they're lovely together 😭 (tho I also see the pattern of which Character the Fandom decides are Straight™ and therefore ignored...)

But I also feel like maybe the Live Action didnt really give Usopp enough moments to shine, here's hoping for more (San)Usopp moments in the second season, they really underuse him in the first one

Okay, first of all, if you think Usopp is straight you're definitely reading his character wrong because look at him. Just look at him.

Yeah, no. This guy doesn't care about gender in the slightest.

And people assuming a guy is straight because he,,, Has a girlfriend,,, Wow,,, A bisexual man who kisses a woman,,, Who would've thought that bisexual people could fall in love with anyone,,, As if that wasn't the literal fucking definition of bisexual. And you could also headcanon him as gay or any other sexuality! Why does he have to be the straight character for having a girlfriend in canon? You can do whatever the fuck you want with it. Fuck canon. People make my blood boil. Also, the whole "I don't care about straight characters" thing is something SO common and it makes me so angry because-- First of all, who said he's straight? He's a fictional character, do whatever the fuck you want with him. And second, it's alright to like specifically queer characters because they give you comfort and representation, but instantly ignoring a character just because they are not queer? Uh. Like, I understand, but it gives me the ick. It's just weird. Off-putting. Because there's a thin line between focusing on the characters you think are queer for comfort and reducing them only to their sexuality and ignoring everything that matters in the show. But you know? I don't think that's exactly the issue here and we both know what it is. Like. Between you and me, anon, we both know.

I am white by the way and I'm not used to analyzing black characters in terms of how the fandom views them and stuff, but isn't it quite curious how Usopp is always the ignored character from the East Blue Crew, and he's often used as a comedy relief in OPLA? "He has a girlfriend and he's straight so we don't care abou-" Sanji has flirted with Nami. Visibly. In front of your fucking screen. And you don't say that about him. Or any other character, really. That's just an excuse and we know and everyone knows and you don't have to analyze shit to know this because it's obvious. And if somebody comes at me saying "oh! But it's just because his personality is softer and he's a coward and most people hate that in shonens so he's a boring character" I am going to fucking combust because everyone knows that if Usopp were white EVERYBODY would be calling him a baby boy and a soft boy and a cutie pie and he'd be one of the favorites (cofcof Koby cofcof) (<- I love him too btw but you know what I mean).

That being said, OPLA doesn't even give Usopp enough screen time to be a character because his personality there is used to crack a few jokes and have THE romance in the show. That's it. He's the comedy relief character and the one who gets the girl because Netflix would cancel the show first before not doing any romance. God forbid people read between the lines, oh my God (<- I love Usokaya and everyone knows btw I am not complaining I cried when they kissed. I'm just saying that that's quite literally all he does. But Usokaya my beloved).

His OWN arc in OPLA is stolen by the screentime used for the Marines and Luffy is the one doing the work. They don't let Usopp follow through with what he actually does in the manga and it's very frustrating not being able to see him shine IN HIS OWN ARC. They barely give him any important scenes in comparison to the other characters. It's incredibly infuriating. See? I am now infuriated.

And now a lot of people watching OPLA have said they prefer OPLA Usopp rather than Manga!Anime!Usopp or that the live-action has made them like him better. I don't know what bothers me the most, really. People literally don't care about the characters, they just want them if they're hot. Which, by the way, it's insulting because if you don't find Manga!Anime!Usopp hot ?????? Please, go to the ophthalmologist because I think you need glasses.

I really hope we get more Usopp moments (hehe and Sanuso moments. My beloveds. They got their four cute short scenes in OPLA and I was the happiest person alive) next season because otherwise, I am going to fucking lose it.

Okay so first of all, people that think he's an asshole, cold-hearted and careless y'all can eat my shit🌈.

This man. He's a total sweetheart secretly BELIVE ME.

He would notice immediately when something's wrong, I can imagine him hugging you from behind and asking in gentle/soft voice "what's wrong" or "long day? Wanna talk about it". Don't try to lie to him that nothing's wrong because man can smell that you are lying 💀.

Isn't best with words but still would try to give you advice for whatever problem you have and tell you that it will be okay because he is here <3.

Shouta is a great listener and would let you cry on his shoulder if needed. When you are ranting to him about your day he would hold you closely to him while he's resting his chin either on your head or shoulder and listening to you carefully.

Also he would hold your hand and gently rub it with his thumb if you know what I mean 😭. Expect lot's of cuddling and hugging, napping together and forehead kisses too.

I can imagine him making you hot drink like tea or chocolate milk to make you more relax would even ask you if you want him to run you warm bath <3. He cares and tries he really does give this big bby hug he deserves it 💕.

You would be the only one to see soft side of him and man is soft for you only and you only.

How you would comfort him:

He probably wouldn't let you comfort him at first and won't open up because he doesn't want to worry and bother you. Even though you told him hundreds of times that it's fine and how it doesn't bother you but still he still wouldn't open up about it 💀.

One day he just gave up and layed on you since you wouldn't leave him alone. win win.

Anyways he would lay down on your chest or stomach and rant to you about his day/whatever crushed his will for anything that day. He loves it when you rub his back or just hug him and shower him with kisses while he's ranting to you 🖤.

The only thing he wants is to be with you at situation like this he just wants you to hold him or other way around he literally doesn't care, all that matters is that he's with you 😭.

Tell him how much you are proud of him and how much you love him and that you will be always by his side or just be there for him whenever he needs you, he will absolutely melt in your arms.

Play with his hair too and massage his head he really needs it.

You would also turn on his favorite show/movie on TV to cheer him up a little and get his favorite drink & snacks while you two are all snuggled up and covered in blankets AND YOUR CATS. a/n: I’m a sucker for Tony Stark. He’s always one of my favorite characters to write. So pls enjoy 😂 and please note: I had to write this chapter on my notes app because I am away from my laptop for the weekend but felt the need to post today so all grammatical errors are my own 😭

Tony Stark was the bane of your existence. He annoyed you to no end. In a favorite Uncle kind of way. He’s lucky Pepper was such a good person, because a people person Tony was not…to everyone else that is. Because, Tony Stark adored you and Avery. His reputation was similar to yours. Ruthless business executive who would make sure the deal went the exact way he wanted, but behind closed doors he loved his wife, his kid and his close friends. You sometimes considered yourself lucky to be in the latter group, but only sometimes. Tony’s friendship tended to be a love-hate situation.

Keeping up with your reputation was better for you. Safer for you and Avery if the whole world thought you were a stuck up bitch. It meant nobody could smell a weakness and use it against you. Even though you were fairly certain that your divorce only added fuel to the fire, gasoline in the form of Brock Rumlow.

He’d gone to all sorts of trashy magazines after signing the divorce papers and had told them that you were a shrewd businesswoman who had no time for her family and would do whatever she could to make sure L/N Enterprises came out on top. It was the “no time for her family” comment that hurt the worst and you were just so thankful that Avery hadn’t learned how to read at four years old. Brock didn’t stop there, he supplied the paps with rumors that you were cheating on him, with TONY, because of the close work Stark and L/N did together. Your face was plastered across nearly every paparazzi magazine in the grocery stores for a year.

Brock’s fury lessened when he realized he’d be getting some money in the divorce and so the rumors slowed down. But your reputation has already grown into this monster that you had no control over. At that point you figured, if you can’t beat em then you might as well become the person they think you are…in public at least.

“Tony, we’ve been over this before. I’m not going to beg you for your support in my deal with the Odinsons, but you know just as well as I that if we both teamed up together then we’d make the deal of a lifetime,” you stated sharply, looking Tony Stark himself in the eye. Tony quirked an eyebrow at your attitude, knowing that you didn’t normally speak to him like that unless you were in front of other people or if something was bothering you.

“Alright. You’ve got me. It’s a good deal, and I guess Odinson would be a good ally to have. Now. On to the real issue, what is wrong with you today, cupcake?” Tony quipped as he signed the deal you had laid in front of him.

You sighed roughly as the weight of securing Tony’s help and the reality of the morning settled into your bones. Your response got Tony’s attention and his face softened, he knew that look. It was one he saw on his own face almost every day. When the weight of your reputation bares all its weight on your shoulders. “Alright, kid what do you want for lunch? I’m buying and then you can tell me all about what’s got you in this funk,” Tony jested as he pulled up the phone number to the restaurant you normally ordered from after working together.

Pepper and Morgan joined you for lunch, the three year old choosing to sit in your lap. Morgan was a cutie. And she reminded you so much of Avery at that age. Just instead of the shyness Avery exhibited, Morgan definitely acted more like Tony. After eating and playing with Morgan for a little bit the two left, leaving you and Tony across the table from each other.

Before he could even ask you groaned and rubbed your face, “sorry Tony. Just today added so much stress to my plate that I didn’t need. For a second there I was genuinely worried that you wouldn’t help and that the Odinson’s would back out,” you started but were interrupted by Tony, “well technically they still could..”

You cut a sharp glare at him and he held up his hands in mock surrender, so you continued, “and Avery was in a mood today. She didn’t want to go to school, she was scared nobody would like her and she’d make no friends, and you know I hate it when she cries,” Tony offered a sympathetic look because he knew he was the same way over Morgan. One tear and he was buying her an entire toy store.

“And worst of all, her teacher looks like he was sculpted by the gods themselves and was placed in front of me as an obstacle to just fucking CLIMB.”

And that’s where Tony lost it. If he’d been drinking water he would’ve done a spit take at your words. He was laughing so hard you thought he’d fall out of his chair. You waited for his laughter to die down, as he began to wipe his eyes you muttered,,”it’s not that fucking funny, Tony.” Which apparently was the wrong thing to say because he almost completely lost it again.

Tony took a breath to steady himself. “Why is it such a problem that you find Avery’s first grade teacher such a hunk of man that you want to have your nasty dirty way with him, hmm?”

Your eyes narrowed at Tony’s comment which only made his eyebrows raise enthusiastically. Tony enjoyed getting a ride out of you. Before you could even respond he was interrupting to add, “you scared you’re a black widow spider or something and once you fuck him you’ll have to kill him?”

That made you lose it. You laughed so hard you snorted, causing Tony to rejoin with his laughter. You knew that talking to Tony would help you feel better, even if all he did was make fun of the situation and not offer any valuable advice. He was Tony Stark. Not exactly known for his great advice. And definitely not known to be very helpful with “romantic” advice. You had to practically beat him upside the head with one of his machines to get him to realize Virginia “Pepper” Potts was the best thing that would ever happen and he’d be a fool and alone forever if he let her go.

Okay, in all seriousness. What’s got you so wound tight over this man you have met one time, might I add?” Tony questioned semi-seriously causing you to think hard about his query. “Is it because you haven’t really been with anyone since Brock?”

His statement caused you to lift a brow and state flatly, “I’m divorced, Tony. Not fucking celibate. You know that.” Because Tony did know. Tony knew all about how terrified you were to casually date or sleep with someone after your divorce. How you were scared to introduce someone into Avery’s life that could break both your hearts in a minute. That’s why Avery didn’t know. She conveniently spent the night with Pepper, Tony and Morgan when you’d find someone to fill that basic human need. The look on your face must have answered some unanswered question Tony had because you saw his eyes soften before you.

“Okay I know you’re not a nun obviously. But now I’m gonna ask you a serious question…” he started only to be interrupted by you.

“Wow Anthony Edward Stark being serious? Someone call J Jonah Jameson,” you snarked with a teasing smirk at the way Tony glared at you.

“BUT do you think you’re acting weird about this man because he’s already met Avery? And you’re thinking if you did find him attractive and wanted to sink your fangs, I mean teeth, into him then you wouldn’t really be able to distance you or Avery from him?” He finished, his question practically echoing in your mind.

He must have seen in your eyes the way you were processing his sentence and just leaned back in his chair with a short nod. “Well would you look at the time. Someone’s gotta head back to their place and get this Odinson deal all shiny like a new penny so we can talk about the future of machine/human telehealth. Think about what I said will ya, kid? Maybe talk to Wilson or Maximoff about it. I know they’re your “besties” and you know, a little closer to your age,” he said besties with finger quotes and spat the last part of his statement with mock venom, a teasing look coming to his eyes. You smiled lightly at Tony, mouthing a thank you as you stood up to give him a hug and head back to your own building.

“Hey! Make sure to bring Avery over next week! We’re making cheeseburgers,” he winked as you walked out the door.

“You’re always making cheeseburgers,” you yelled back, not even having to turn around to see Tony‘s laugh.

When you got back to your office you finished writing up the Odinson deal so it would be ready to sign at your meeting at the end of the week. Before you knew it, it was time to pick up Avery. On the ride to school Sam decided to joke about your “crush” on Avery’s teacher saying that he was looking forward to seeing the man himself so he could gossip about him with Wanda after your celebratory drinks this upcoming Friday.

“Don’t plan the celebration too early, Sam. Odinson could still back out,” you stated pointedly. Sam knew how you felt about jinxing this deal and he promptly stopped talking about it, but he just rerouted the conversation back to Mr. Barnes. It was mostly him talking and joking and you rolling your eyes but when he pulled up to the school you saw Mr. Barnes next to Avery and a little girl who looked suspiciously like Mr. Barnes.

“That’s him,” you said to Sam, pointing at the first grade teacher.

Sam’s eyes widened, he looked from you to Mr. Barnes and back before saying, “you know, normally I don’t think I’d say this… but that man is a whole damn tree trunk. It makes sense why you wanna climb him.”

You snorted and slapped Sam’s arm before exiting the car and making your way over to your daughter. Mr. Barnes didn’t notice you and for that you were thankful. It gave you the opportunity to appreciate his…assets. The way his brown hair curled slightly at his shoulders, the way his button up seemed a half size too small judging by the way his shoulders stretched against the material, the way his slacks clung to his..

“MOMMY!!” Avery’s voice cried, pulling you out of your appreciative gaze. You could feel your cheeks start to hurt with the smile that graced your face as your daughter barreled towards you and engulfed you in the largest hug she could muster, flinging her little body into your arms. You were about to ask her how her day was when you felt another little one practically tackle your legs in a hug. Big blue eyes looked up at you, eyes that unmistakably belonged to the tall drink of water standing next to you.

You were introduced to Becca, who was no doubt Mr. Barnes’ daughter, and how she and Avery were new best friends and they had a great day together. As the two girls continued chattering with yo about their day you managed to sneak a look at the incoming notification on your watch. You knew it was getting close to dinner with your parents and you’d have to leave soon to prepare for it. Mr. Barnes must have caught what you were doing because he announced it was time for the girls to go. Your heart both grew and broke a little when the girls hugged each other, neither one wanting to leave. Your eyebrow quirked at their friendship, an amused look on your face as you met the twin oceanic pools of Mr. Barnes.

He looked like he was going to say something when an annoying, and obviously fake, breathy voice called out “James….”

You took in the newcomer. Her bottle blond hair that needed to be toned and her low cut shirt that was extremely inappropriate to be wearing to an elementary school. You could practically taste the acidity of the little green monster that was spawning in your brain. Who the fuck is this woman?

Mr. Barnes looked almost sheepish as you made the girls say goodbye and reminded them that they would see each other tomorrow, giving a short nod in Mr. Barnes’ direction. When you and Avery made it back to the car she was telling you and Sam all about her new best friend and how they were going to hang out and play mermaids and princesses. Her little ramblings made you feel like maybe first grade wouldn’t be so bad…especially if you got the opportunity to see James Barnes every day.
