You sway your hips to the beat of the song, the sparkling beads adorning your chest shimmer underneath dim lights. Champagne bubbles pop in your veins, orchestrating the arch and writhe of your sensual movements in the middle of the crowded room. You aren’t paying any attention to the unwanted stares zoning in on your group, too blissed out on the high of achieving another successful milestone in your life.
Graduation arrived faster than you expected. With the ceremony now just a couple of weeks away, you find yourself gifted with all the free time in the world, leaving behind the stress of your assignments and finals but you’re so happy to make it to the end of this long, winding road.
Your friend tugs you close to her chest, her sparkling dress matching your top and your other friend's skirt, and gives you a gentle kiss on the cheek. She’s singing loudly, her inebriated mind making her jumble up the lyrics in a cute manner. You sing along with her, trying to guide her as you hold her cheeks in the palm of your hands and heartily belt out the tune. Two hands then find your waist, and your other friend spins you back towards her to keep on dancing. You circle your arms around her neck, and playfully whine against her as the scent of alcohol and perfume filters the air around you. You don’t even know if your make up is still snatched or if the setting spray you had applied earlier has waned against the sweat misting off your body.
For whatever you don’t even care.
You’ve spent the last four months burying yourself deep into your work, and tonight is about rewarding yourself and living in the moment.
You wanted nothing more than to do just that.
“I’m going to get some water, would you like some?” you hoarsely speak into your friend’s ear, your throat constricting from the tension around your vocal chords.
“Yes, please! We’ll wait for you right here!”
You sashay through the sea of strangers, avoiding the eyes taking in your risqué outfit. You knew that your silver backless top would garner a lot of attention, the fabric only held together by two thin straps around your neck and lower back. However, you liked the change to your usual style of clothing, and looked fantastic on the flattering pair of black pants that you had on while matching perfectly with your platform heels.
Your ears buzz from the sensory imbalance when you leave the underground dance floor and walk upstairs to the bar with the hard thumping bass muffling as you are now surrounded by softer, upbeat tones.
The entire room is packed.
You've only been down for a couple of hours, but you're taken aback at how quickly the bar hit capacity. You shouldn’t be surprised after all, considering that this establishment is the latest hot spot in the city…
… and, of course you would spot him out of the crowd of people.
Suguru is leaning against the bar looking more formal than usual. He is wearing a button down white shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows and showing off his intricate tattoos underneath. He has on sleek tailored pants, the color mirroring the length of his hair dripping down his back like ink pressing into paper, and the front of his bangs are tied back to reveal that perfectly handsome face which had heads turning at every angle.
Alarm bells ring in the back of your mind, but thankfully you’re relieved to figure out that your brother, Satoru, isn’t around.
Suguru is hanging out with his other friends...the ones you don’t know very well and only met for the first time on the night of his twenty-eighth birthday.
There is a guy with bluish gray hair, who has pretty features and an interesting scar on his face, but upon recognizing him you immediately remember Utahime’s cautionary words to be mindful.
Then there is a second guy whose face isn’t one to forget due to all his piercings and how his hair is styled into two little space buns, and despite his somewhat dissociative expression, he looked like he could pass as Suguru’s brother.
The memory of the party flashes through your mind in between your stunned blinks.
That night was the last time you saw Suguru in person.
After your emotional reaction to watching him kiss somebody else, you thought that avoiding your crush might be the best solution to heal your wounded heart. The only contact you’ve had with Suguru since then has been via text, but even then you were trying your best not to linger in conversation with him.
You still have no idea who that woman was, and shudder at the possibility of Suguru potentially being romantically involved with somebody else.
Suddenly, dark eyes fall on yours and the room around you grows quiet. The music fades into the distance as bodies blur together like colors on an artist’s palette. The only person remaining still is the man before you, standing tall and prominent, with the environment glowing around him like a halo and reminding you that you are simply just a foolish girl who forgot to pull out cupid’s arrow.
You rip your eyes away immediately, the adrenaline forcing you to turn your heel and walk over to the other side of the bar where everything floods back in, where the booming chatter and loud song collides into your ribs and leaves you breathless.
Your heart starts racing - the bar area appears much smaller than it initially seemed when you first walked upstairs but you finally make it to the counter and rest both your elbows on the edge as a way to steady your feet.
You catch the bartender’s attention, who is busy pirouetting between jotting down orders and mixing drinks, while trying your best to ignore his piercing gaze barreling through from the opposite side of the counter.
“Can I get three bottles of water, please?” you speak loudly, having to repeat yourself just one more time to make sure that the bartender heard you.
You only have a couple of minutes of peace before your spine goes rigid. A shocking cold crawls up each vertebrae, and a tickling drip of water cascades down your back which is swiftly brushed away by a gentle graze of knuckles.
You glance over your shoulder to find him right behind you.
“S-Suguru…”
The space between your shoulder blades is burning from the icy contact, and the man sweetly smiles in your direction as he pulls away his cold beer from your back.
This is only testing your patience.
“I thought that it was you,” he says as he places his drink down onto the counter. “I almost didn’t recognize you for a minute…”
You part your lips to reply, but your words catch in your throat. You anxiously shift from one foot to the next, desperately mustering up a quick reason to excuse yourself, but a stranger from behind bumps right into your shoulder at that exact moment which causes you to lose your balance.
Suguru’s hand finds your waist immediately to steady you, his palm rests on the fabric of your top while his fingers catch your exposed flesh. Your skin tingles from his touch, making your cheeks burst with a warmth that has you feeling unusually hot.
The worst part is you feel like he can see how your body is betraying you in this way as his sharply pries you open bit by bit.
His gaze falls to your chest, and he arches his brow slightly when he glances over your outfit, a hint of a smile curling his lip before returning to face you.
“Now what would Satoru say if he saw you in this, hmmm?” he teases, his digits innocently pinching into your soft flesh.
“You’re not going to say anything to him, right?” you stammer immediately as you force the words right out of you.
The last thing you needed was a rant from your overprotective brother.
Suguru shakes his head, “of course not, what Satoru doesn’t know won’t hurt him, I’ll let you have your fun...”
You aren't quite sure if it's the way you can practically taste him on the tip of your tongue, or the lingering alcohol that makes the room around you spin, but statement makes your own eyes fall to his lips with the memory of the way he kissed you now swirling in your mind.
“Are you here alone?” he asks seriously, and as if he can read your thoughts, he slowly drops his hand by his side before taking another step forward to seal the gap of space to prevent causing traffic to the people walking back and forth behind him.
“I’m here with my friends,” you explain, feeling like a caged little bird trapped between him and the bar, “they are downstairs…”
“Three waters!” the bartender interrupts as he slides over the bill.
Suguru is quick to push back the check in the bartender’s direction, “put whatever she wants on my tab,” he announces, and the statement only makes you feel even more self conscious.
“You got it,” the bartender replies with a thumbs up.
Suguru assists in handing you the bottles of water, and you stammer over your words once more when you speak.“T-Thanks, but you really don’t have to do that...”
“Don’t worry about it,” he replies with a wink, “it’s good seeing you. I’ll let you get back to your friends.”
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
Your heart doesn’t stop spinning, and neither do you - so, you dull your senses with more drinks. You're not drunk enough to forget that the man you are infatuated with is hanging out just a floor above you, but you are nicely buzzed not to care about how the close proximity messes with your feelings.
Everything is a hazy blur until a few of the main lights start to flicker. The establishment is signaling their first warning that they will be closing soon and as the most sober(ish) person in your party, you take it upon yourself to lure your two friends back upstairs so you can all head home.
The three of you stumble out of the entrance. You’re holding onto your friend’s waist, while the other spins out in the middle of the sidewalk like the music never left her feet.
“Where to next?” she squeals a bit too loudly, and you sassily pull out your phone to show her the Uber application.
“Back home,” you reply, and she pouts like a child whose toy has just been snatched away.
“Boring,” your other friend mumbles, the weight of her body falling onto your shoulder and you almost collapse as you try to keep her upright.
You furrow your brows to check for the quickest pick up, but the earliest ride you can find is fifteen minutes away.
“Need a lift?”
Your heart thumps loudly in your chest, an echo reverberating around your ribcage and reaching all the way to the tip of your fingers. You swallow the tiny lump in your throat as you raise away from the blue light to put a face to that very familiar voice.
“Whose this?” your first friend mumbles, while the other stares at Suguru keenly with her mouth slightly agape.
“My brother’s best friend,” you mutter awkwardly before proceeding to decline his offer, “it’s alright, the Uber should be here soon.”
“And my car is parked just up the street,” he reassures calmly as he tilts his chin towards the direction of his vehicle before sliding both hands in his pocket.  “You don’t have to worry, I just had the one beer earlier when I saw you but I haven’t been drinking…”
“Say yes, he’s really cute…” your friend with interested eyes that have not left Suguru’s, whispers quietly into your ear.
“I can’t help but agree with her,” Suguru smartly replies with a shrug, and that easy smile which makes his face glow as your friend giggles like a teenager.
You can’t help but shoot her a frustrated glare.
“I don’t want to intrude on your evening…”
Suguru huffs out a laugh, finding it cute that you are adamant on getting your way, before refuting that “it is not an intrusion at all, besides, Satoru would kill me if he knew that I just left you behind..."
Grinning thoughtfully in your direction, he made his final plea.
"Just cancel the ride. I’ll get you girls home in no time…”
You do as you're told because you’re too exhausted to protest otherwise.
The three of you follow Suguru to his car. He's a gentleman holding the backseat door open for your two friends, extending his hand out as he helps each of them climb inside. You can see how easily besotted they were by this act, but it only makes your chest tighten with envy.
You almost follow suit but hesitate when Suguru steps in the way.
“Want to sit up front?”
You can feel your worn, drained heart climb up from out of your throat and grip your face with its weak hands to beg you to decline. You should be trying to shield yourself from him, but how are you expected to resist with that kind of softness oozing from his soulful irises?
No wonder he gets so much attention, you think, convinced that he’s somehow cracked the code on how to hypnotize the most vulnerable of hearts with a single look.
You nip at the inside of your cheek anxiously but mindlessly nod yes in agreement.
Suguru shuts the door to the backseat.
You settle yourself in the front seat of his car breathing in the scent of sage with a hint of tobacco and shiver at the memory of how close you were when inhaled this scent last while his body was on top of yours.
The car itself is clean overall, but Suguru has always been meticulous about keeping everything in its place, unlike your brother who lived in a world of organized chaos.  Sometimes you can’t help but compare the two of them, like you're trying to understand the details of how they complete one another while still being total opposites.
Your eyes fall to the decorative piece hanging from the front view mirror where you see a tiny polaroid framed within a wonky design.
There’s Suguru, who looks about your age, with the brightest grin on his face and whiskers painted on his cheeks. He is wearing black cat ears to match his two younger step-sisters, Mimiko and Nanako, who are also in the picture and are happily snuggled up in his arms.
“The girls made it for me,” he says, his voice low enough for just you to hear.
“Gosh, they look so young…”
“About four years old. This was a year after my mom got remarried…”
You flash him a smile, trying your best to ignore the way your body is currently simmering over such casual conversation. “It’s a really cute photo, Sugu”
He quirks his brow with amusement, a tender expression masking his face. "I'll show you the rest of them some other time…"
You subconsciously clench your thighs together, startled by the idea of you and your crush cozying up on a sofa while he shows you memories to the pieces of his life that you rarely ever get to see.
Despite your heart beating just a bit faster at the thought, your mind immediatelninterjects as a cautious reminder not to read into the situation.
Suguru fastens his seat belt, and quickly peaks over his shoulder to check on your two friends.
“Are you girls comfortable?”
“Yes, we are! Thanks again for the ride, uhm…erm…brother’s friend, uh…” one of you friends mumbles in an attempt to fish out his name.
“Suguru,” he politely replies then turns on the ignition.
“Thanks for the ride, Su-gu-ruu!” she repeats with exaggeration but for whatever reason it only feeds into your embarrassment.
“Hey, isn’t that…” your other friend intervenes innocently as she arches forward to rest her chin on your chair. “Isn’t that also the name of the guy you have a crush on?”
The weight of the world descends upon you the . Your body gradually shrinks in size, and you can feel yourself growing smaller and smaller as the seconds pass in silence. The slip of her tongue makes your eyes widen, and you ball your hands up into tight fists to form crescents in your palms as you anxiously clench your jaw.
Suguru’s face perks up instantly, and his movements slow down as one hand shifts to find the wheel while the other puts the car in reverse.
The air feels far too light, making it impossible for you to breathe. You know he heard that question, loud and clear, but you’re too mortified to even look at those magnetizing eyes. You can feel the heat of his stare unravel you, but you swiftly spin your head to face the busy streets and blurry lights just outside your window.

I just hit a very unbelievable milestone yesterday and I still can’t quite believe it—
Tumblr media
10,000 feels like a number I can’t quite even fathom and I truly thank every one of you for being here. truly I started this blog because I had jjk brainrot and I was going through a lot of difficult life changes and writing has always been my coping mechanism
so the fact so many of you enjoy my work has made it so much more fun and so much more rewarding 🥹 and I don’t want to ramble too much (because I feel it’s very self congratulatory) but thank you for every reblog, comment, ask, and like you all have sent my way. it’s meant the world and this blog has been my oasis from just difficult life situations.
especially your asks — they never ever fail to make me smile or laugh—I still can’t quite fathom the amount of asks I get but I’m so glad I get to interact with you all so much. it literally is everything to me.
I will definitely do another follower celebration event (once I finish my 2K one because wow I’m still working on that one somehow 😭).
I want to also thank every mutual I have on here - I will only not list you because I am afraid I will miss someone and it will haunt me forever lol. but you know who you are and I love all of you.
also a very very special thanks to @laneysmusings and @gaylatteart who literally put up with beta reading and listening to me ramble about my fics and ideas and jjk in general (even though they are not really into jjk at all haha). I love them so much and truly my writing would not be the same at all without them and I cannot thank them enough for dealing with my shenanigans 💕🥹
anyway I said I wouldn’t ramble so I won’t so!! thank you all so much and I’ll be here still writing away!! 💕🥹 and I hope you guys will stick around.

I dont think snailords is literally going to end the series in 20 episodes. I think he is plotting the rest of the season and has the option to extend it 10 or 20 episodes.
That's not what he implies in his post, though, at all. The wording is very clear:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's not saying "I have the ending for Death : Rescheduled planned out but I have this one mini arc I want to do before it", he's literally saying "the comic is ending whether you like it or not, but if you give me $1k I'll make sure it's 20 weeks from now instead of 10." He doesn't say he's plotting out the end which is however far from now, he just goes straight into "I'm gonna end the comic in either 10 episodes or 20". And then of course even goes to say "decide whether you want 20 more weeks with Kissae and Kreyul, or 10 more weeks to say goodbye". If he didn't want to give his readers the impression that that meant it was ending within that time range... then why phrase it like that? It doesn't help either that his phrasing is supported by his updates, where he says shit like:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Also I couldn't find them but there are other screenshots out there of him saying shit like "thanks for showing you love the series" in a way that's frankly rude af because it's basically like he's asking for money for his readers to 'prove' they love him and his work, and that wouldn't be the first time he's done that either.)
If he is saying what you're suggesting, then he's not being clear about it at all because the language is very seriously implying that it's going to be ending when it returns. Which I'd hope it isn't considering what other readers are pointing out that the story has basically just gotten going and I'd hate for this to turn into another Freaking Romance situation, but I don't know how else we're supposed to read "
And, as I mentioned in my post about it, why on earth even contemplate putting in this mini arc that he's asking for $1k as a deciding factor over if he doesn't even have it written? He says he's way more confident just writing the finale arc as is, so why drag it out with an arc he's not completely confident in?
And of course, there's the urgency. If Death : Rescheduled isn't entering its ending arc after it returns from midseason hiatus - if it still has potentially years of storytelling left - then why now? Why suddenly ask your readers to buy $1k worth of merch in 24 hours or less to help you make a decision... if the actual consequences of that decision won't be made apparent for ages?
And at the end of the day, even if it's a possibility he meant what you're suggesting, that doesn't make it any less scammy to hold the comic's potential ending for ransom? Speaking as a comic writer myself of the last 10+ years, getting money from the audience in this kind of way has never ever been a deciding factor in how I write my work. Sure, things like stretch goals and Patreon milestone rewards are a thing, offering bonus chapters or NSFW art or just additional goodies if you hit a financial goal or if people sign into a certain tier, all that makes sense, but if what you're offering is worded specifically to make your audience panic - not saying "hey , you guys get an extra bonus 10 episodes if I hit this goal by this date" but rather "hey, you guys won't get AS MANY episodes if you don't pay me $1k in 24 hours or less" - and ultimately gets your readers an extra 10-15 episodes of an arc you're not even confident in writing ... the fuck is that, even? Just write the story you want to write, why do you gotta make your audience freak over not getting as much comic as they might want only to twist it into "surprise, it was for charity!" in the end?
The whole thing is silly and yeah, I'm calling it for what it is - a scam - because it's not the first time Snailords has taken advantage of his audience and played on their emotions and need for short-term gratification all for his own financial benefit. It's not even the first time he's tanked his own comic from rushing the ending simply because he was done playing with it. So at this point I wouldn't be surprised if the comic does come back and proceeds to spend 10-15 episodes waffling on a directionless mini arc before rushing into a 10 episode finale.
That said, that's all my two cents on it, you don't have to agree with me. I really don't feel like I'm misinterpreting his words but maybe someone else could enlighten me if there's something I'm missing here; that said, considering even his own readers were calling him out on this and that he never actually made efforts to clarify what could be poor language, I don't think I'm an outlier and I don't think there's even any misinterpretation happening. Maybe he'll prove me wrong, but I've yet to see this guy do anything to prove that he's capable of doing the right thing. And frankly, even if what you suggested turns out to be true and the comic goes on for a long while before actually hitting that $1k-funded mini arc (and again, I kinda hope it does just so we don't end up with a repeat of what happened with Freaking Romance) it doesn't make any of this feel less gross IMO.

Hi hello - I wanted to make a quick, albeit sappy, post thanking everyone. for being here! I hit a milestone over the weekend and let it pass by because I was super busy writing Gods of the Dark, but I did want to take a moment to appreciate everyone here!
I've been writing on Tumblr for a little over a year and a half now, and I am so grateful I picked this up as a hobby because being in this community has been incredibly rewarding. I have met amazing people both in person and online, and honestly? Being here and seeing different perspectives and experiences on so many different things has enriched my life and my world view more than I can explain.
I know I have not done milestone events for the last three that I've hit because I've been hitting them while engrossed in another writing event, and I probably will not do anything for this one either. My primary goal is to write the three things on my to-do list for the month of December, and while I love doing drabbles or writing events, they do demand my attention when I do them!
Anyway - thanks for being here. I hope that you feel as safe and welcome here as you make me feel. I appreciate the time anyone spends reading my work whether you are a silent reader or a feedback reader. All of you collectively make me enjoy my time here and I hope you are happy and healthy!
P.S. I purposefully did not title this with a thank you because the last time I did that people thought I was leaving and yelled at me (Meg cough cough).

Devlog #33 | 07.26.23
Tumblr media
Hi everyone!
It's only been a month (per usual) since the last devlog. But it feels like so long ago! Very weird that last devlog I hadn't even released Intertwine yet. But here we are, back with another one!
Before we get into things, I want to extend the biggest thank you to everyone who has played and supported intertwine!
Tumblr media
if you havent played yet, here it is. this is me on my knees asking because i am quite proud of it and what our team accomplished in two months!
in the almost month it's been out, we stand at almost 15k total plays and 200+ reviews which is so crazy to me. i never would've expected that kind of reception for our little game and when i say it has been so motivating for alaris!!! u dont even know!!!
thank you again for all the kind words---i know you are all Sick of me talking about it but i don't know how else to express my gratitude <3 it means so much to me ;_;
I wanted to make sure I inserted an official section for it in the Devlog just to really thank you all for the support. But with that, I shall get into the updates!
Tumblr media
But not before a quick belated happy birthday to Fenir!
Writing
I posted it earlier this week, but I HAVE!!! THE MOST EXCITING NEWS!!! At least for me.
I FINISHED DRUK'S FIRST DRAFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We all know how long this has been in the making. I've been talking about his route for what feels like an eternity. Evidently, it's Very Normal to experience burnout, struggles with motivation, creative ruts, etc. etc. at this point in development. The initial and final stages of development are easier because your motivation is up. In the beginning, it's like Wow!! This is Fun!! And towards the end, it's like Wow!!! I actually Fckn Made It!!!!
And so the middle part of development, aka the stage I just entered with Druk's route, is the slog.
Now that I've overcome that initial hurdle, while I'm not near the end of development, I do feel like I will have a better handle of progress on the following routes since I have a better set of expectations and tools on how to get through this stage (compared to when I initially started Druk's route, and I was like what are all these Feelings?? Why am I Struggling so much??).
That being said, WE ARE OVER HALFWAY DONE WITH THE SCRIPT! It currently stands at 200k words including the demo, and with how each of the routes have been shaping up, we have about 150k left to go. Wow!!!!! It is crazy to know I've written that much for Alaris, and this feels like such an exciting milestone to know that I'm over halfway there for the script!
We also have just about wrapped up Fenir's developmental edits, so that makes Kayn and Fenir's foundational versions of their routes done (all that would be left at this point is line tweaking and/or revisions based on beta feedback)!! Overall, this was a really exciting month for writing updates, and I'm so happy to feel back on track with Alaris development <3 I also finished my dissertation proposal in case anyone is keeping track of that HEEHOO
Art
Most of my attention for art was (un?)fortunately on Intertwine this month AGAIN. I really had anticipated being able to dive right into Alaris and irl work this month after Otojam ended. But the reception to Intertwine made it so I needed to dedicate some time to "marketing" artwork aka the artwork I like to make when reaching certain milestones of support (e.g., 1k downloads, etc.). Obviously these aren't necessary, but I like to show my thanks and appreciation in some way, and the artwork is what feels best conveys my gratitude.
Because we hit milestones relatively quickly, I ended up having to make those pieces faster than I anticipated prior to release. So I spent the first half of this month mostly on intertwine "promotional/apprecation" artwork. Near the tail end of this month though, I've prioritized Alaris artwork and have made progress on both the Kickstarter physical rewards and some CG sketches!

sneaky peeky of pretty mermay Aisa
Vui continues to hit it out of the park with the backgrounds. Most of them are spoilers at this point. But I do have one that isn't too bad of a spoiler! And because you all have been so supportive and patient with me, I show hehe

vui and his bg mastery: a preview of the dragon springs
The demo mentions dragon springs (I..... think......... LMAO), and here is a preview of what those dragon springs can look like. Wonder what the context will be in which we visit them, teehee! I'm in love with the way Vui brings the fantasy world of Alaris to life. I am so grateful for him ^^
Market Research
My wrist was feeling ~delicate~ this month due to Otojam crunch and then post-release pieces. So I don't have any actual art pieces to showcase this month for market research. I did play Otojam games and started Cupid Parasite (ryuki and allan my beloveds). But crescence's wrist needs to relax LOL. So no art pieces more than necessary for this month!
I will send some love to my besties over at Ravenstar Games though! If you haven't heard, they have a game currently in development called Lost in Limbo. It looks sick as hell, and the team is unbelievable talented and hardworking. This month to celebrate Barbie, they were able to sneak this promotional piece in, even while working on their Master's ((Do you see...... a familiar group of people..... heh))
Tumblr media
Alaris x Lost in Limbo x Barbie the collaboration of the century
That's all from me for now. Thank you again for all the support and love on Intertwine! I've truly cherished all the fanwork, reviews, kind messages, etc.
That being said, while it was a bit of a struggle getting back returning to the Alaris world initially (I was literally like what.... was the plot of this again... LMAOsazodujf), it's been so rewarding to return to my OG gang. The intertwine release and return to Alaris work has also been strangely sentimental since it's reminded me how far I've come in the two years I've been in this dev Thang. As always thank you for your continued support (and for supporting Alaris since it's inception when I was a Wee Dev), and I look forward to bringing you more updates in the future <3
See you all next month, and stay safe!

Beginner Tips : Wuthering Waves
I want to compile informations that I thought useful or I have missed the first time I play WuWa and only realized after my friend mentioned it to me.
1. Shilang is a shop owner in Tiger's Maw mine that sell a lot of useful things including a 4* weapon selector (the currency : Lampylument ore)
Tumblr media
2. When you mine in other player's world, both you and the other player received the ore. No matter how far apart you guys were. That's why I used to mine together with my friend, I went to pick lampylument and he would pick the red ore. So it get done quicker. (This doesn't work for any other resources tho, as far as I know)
3. Idk since when, but you actually can create weapon exp and echo exp in synthesizer. Just for a small amount, but better than nothing I guess.
4. Uncle Wei, in front of craft station, sell some material for weapon/forte upgrade. Sadly, it didn't reset.
Tumblr media
5. For faster mining, I used Calcharo to mine. He need only 1 hit to break the ore. Jiyan need 2. Basically use broadblade user to mine faster. BUT, Changli also just need 1 hit (her BA1 slash multiple times).
5.1. After version 1.2 , we have a new utility Hoverdroid, you can use it to mining faster as well. Just need one shoot per ore, much more like using broadblade user but better since now you can even mining from afar.
Tumblr media
6. Don't build too many character. Resources are pretty limited here. If you ended up with all half assed teams, it's going to be hard going forward. I stick with 2 teams until UL 55 I guess? Before building my 3rd team (after getting Changli) and now this 3rd team sucked me dry fr, I'm UL 61 now, with 40k shell credit and no other resources lol.
7. Do illusive realms. No matter how suck you're at it. You can get a lot of materials upgrade there. Just do it slowly, since you can save your progress anyway (you need to quit properly tho, tap door icon > save progress. If you just quit or disconnected the progress won't be saved and you won't get any score).
8. You can skip Scar's story telling if you insist on attacking him. Attack him, attack him, attack him. Be aggressive. Beat his ass immediately. Lol.
9. Animals have a much lower def than Tacet discord. And Goat have lower def than Cow. You want to showcase your burst damage to your friends? Go find a goat...and use your ult. You will see big number. BUT I'M NOT PROMOTING ANIMAL ABUSE OKAY, don't be cruel towards animals irl guys, don't. That's horrible. We do this in game because we need the meats to cook. Yes, definitely that.
10. Talking about Cook, every recipes have a certain level of proficiency. Each time you make the recipe it will increase the number until it doesn't lol.
Tumblr media
After reaching the maxed proficiency, the recipe you cook won't increase your chef level anymore. Go cook another recipe.
Tumblr media
11. The same with Research point in Synthesizer as well.
12. Let's talk about echo. If you're a new player, save all the echo you got until you reach data base lv 15. Then you can combine it for a chance to get 5* echo. Or if you patient enough, wait until you reach data bank 21. The chance getting 5* become 100%. But fighting mobs without equipping any echo is quite tiring, so... just do it if you think you can.
12.1. If you finish hunting all 5* echoes but somehow haven't enough experience to reach 21, go check your guide book and see Milestone, one of the rewards is actually data bank experience.
Hmm, I don't know what to add anymore, maybe i'll add it later when I remember something. See ya.

trying to stay motivated (guide? I guess?)
tw// pr04n4
rules: rules I live by to keep myself on track <3
-never eat anything before 7 am or after 7 pm.
-NEVER more than 500 calories per day, even if you burned off some extra cals, it’s better safe than sorry. (I’m currently doing the “my melody” diet)
-only eat until you are no longer starving. Not until you are satisfied or full.
-only eat around others. don’t eat by yourself and if you do, take a photo of it, track the cals, and watch yourself eat it in the mirror naked or in your underwear.
-if you weigh more than yesterday, fast. if you are the same, fast. if you dropped, restrict as usual, stay within your cal LIMIT. It’s a LIMIT not a GOAL. <3
-if you feel like binging or giving up, shop online for clothes you’ll wear when you hit your ugw, give yourself one non-food-related reward for each weight loss milestone you complete, look at thiñsp0 or look at gross food images.
excuses to not eat:
“I’m on my period and my stomach is killing me.”
“I had a huge breakfast this morning.”
“I’m not really that hungry yet.”
“Well I was gonna eat [whatever] in a little bit so I’d rather do that.” (And then don’t eat that obviously)
Go to the bathroom and come back and say you threw up or you’re not feeling well enough to eat.
what to do instead of eat:
-take a cold shower (burns cals I think?) or a long bath
-sleep, sleep, sleep!!!
-play video games
-go to a library or another public place that doesn’t allow food, so you won’t be tempted
-shop for ugw clothes :)
-swim! Fun and burns tons of cals.
-go for a walk
-write down/plan out your goals, doesn’t have to be weight loss related
-talk to me🫶 would love an 4n4 buddy😭🙏
how to stave off hunger:
-OMAD a protein bar at work to keep yourself from passing out or puking during your shift
-drink water (ugh, I know)
-smoke a cig or vape (if you like to— I personally don’t like it much and do it sparingly)
-black coffee>>> doesn’t taste great but DAMN does it suppress appetite
[some stuff that motivates me/I use to trigger myself:]

CW: weight talk ahead
I hit a milestone on my Happy Scale app today! My highest weight ever was 169lbs/76.7kg in April of 2022. I've been working on it slowly since then, albeit with a few big gaps/pauses. 😅 But the last month I've been doing awesomely again and picked back up on my progress. I'm about 155lbs/70.3kg now! So now I have 7 more milestones to hit before I get to what I've entered as my goal weight, or another way to look at it is it says I'm 32.1% of the way there. I love the little milestones on this app, very helpful with feeling rewarded with baby steps. 🙌🏼🏆
I arbitrarily put 125lbs/56.7kg as my goal since that's often a healthy weight for my height, but we'll see how I feel once I actually get down around there. I'm also definitely trying to do body recomp, i.e. keep or even build some muscle, so that will factor into my weight as well.
Honestly the first big goal I have in my head though is 139lbs/63kg which is also what's entered as my goal in both MyFitnessPal and on my Fitbit; not sure why I did 125 in the Happy Scale app honestly haha (so many apps!). 139 is my first goal because I'm technically no longer overweight there in terms of BMI, for what that's worth. And idk, just something about being below 140 in my head is appealing lol.
Hope it doesn't take me another year and change to lose another 15lbs. 🙃 But as they say slow progress is better than no progress at least!

its so interesting as im writing narrative!fic the way that each subsequent draft / outline gets me closer and closer to a version of the fic that is ... true to the original conception? like i started gathering notes and ideas for this fic in earnest in ... 2021, like spring/summer 2021 and only today have finally put together an outline that FEELS like i am really, really close.
actually it's not even an outline it is a bunch of bulletpoint freewriting in a google doc that is roughly in the order of the series of events in the fic. i made a note to clean it into an outline later. but ohhh my god i finally!
like its been literally 4 drafts, i am slightly frightened to count how many words of draft material (probably about 60k give or take 15-20k), but THIS outline! i finally have the throughline of haiji's character arc through the fic, i've finally like .... idk. pared it down to the core parts and they magically (throug the power of thinking about this fic near-constantly since 2021) fit together now. THANK FUCK!
i told my old roommate i would send them a completed draft to beta like. two years ago.
i still don't know how this fucking fic ends but i have OPTIONS that probably will all require drafting out and revising before i pick sigh. but ohhhhhhhh my god this has NOT BEEN FUN but it is SO REWARDING to finally fucking hit (for like the third time) the feeling of "oh okay. i figured another thing out about how this story is going to work. it's going to come together now."
admittedly i said that to myself the last several times but THIS TIME I FIGURED OUT THE JOURNALING AND HAIJI'S WHOLE CHARACTER ARC and there is CAUSATION AND EVERYTHING which there sure was not before ahahaha. god this time i figured out the journaling!!!
and yes this is uhhhhhhhhhh an incredibly personal reading of haiji, i truly feel that my irl friends will kind of squint knowingly. but ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh A MILESTONE!
a milestone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Prom Bet AU (TPB + TSoF) now has 20 thousand hits and I just wanted to jump back on here to say thank you. I know I’ve disappeared (for like the fifth time) and I’m sorry about that, and honestly I cannot say for sure that I will update again. I really don’t see that I will. Nothing major, it’s just that I’m in college so I’m hella busy, and I simply don’t love Heathers like I used to. I won’t speak for Ryan here but I know they have said the same thing, we’ve just moved on to different things. The Prom Bet hitting this mind-blowing milestone of course did mean that I had to at least say something and express my appreciation. Twenty thousand people is a number I cant even comprehend (well, I was never very good at maths to be fair) and it doesn’t feel real. I have never thought of it as an iconic work per se, just another chansaw fanfic. However, I think it truly dawned on me when someone said it was in the fandom-agreed list of the most famous heathers fics of all time. That was what blew me away. Some silly little story I wrote, 2 years after the ‘peak’ of the Heathers fandom, which I never thought would be a big thing in the slightest, is famous? And then the number really hit me and I realised just how crazy this all was. This also did unfortunately mean I felt bad for the way it has been left. I regretted writing TSoF in a way because I felt like just leaving it as TPB sufficed perfectly, and now I’ve added this random half-assed, unneeded sequel that was left unfinished after a measly 2 chapters that added nothing substantial? To be honest, I just now want to focus on the positives and not worry about what I have and haven’t done. Since 2018, I have been reading your Heathers stories. Since 2019, I have been writing my Heathers stories. The past 4 years in this fandom have been a blast, and yes I’ve left a few times and randomly reappeared, only to silently fade away again. However, I wouldn’t change a thing. It warms my heart that The Prom Bet has had such an impact, and that so many of you consider it to be so prestigious. I’m not sure I agree, as there are some killer fics out there! Nonetheless, thank you. Keep writing, keep doing what you’re doing. I know there perhaps aren’t as many fics as there used to be, and they don’t get as many hits these days, and that can be discouraging. I know that. But somewhere out there, there are still tens, if not hundreds, maybe even thousands of people who wait patiently for the things *you* create. When you start thinking of the numbers as people, that’s when it gets crazy. And that is when you realise what an incredible thing you are doing here: creating wonderful art for others with no monetary reward, just simply because you love it. As Veronica would probably say, that’s beautiful. So thank you for 20,000 hits on The Prom Bet AU and about 40,000 hits across my 6 fics (Jesus Christ) . Thank you for these 4 years. This isn’t (another 💀) goodbye post really, just a “thanks, I’ll see you whenever I see you” post. Always remember the joy you are bringing to people’s lives. Don’t stop doing what you love for anyone’s sake. Writing is hella hard but you got this.
Thank you :)

You mentioned couple of pages ago that "[D&D is] a dungeon crawling combat sim (that doesn’t even really do or encourage dungeon crawls that well anymore, but that’s another post) " What do you mean by 'dungeon crawl' in this context? My impression, as a non-gamer, is that it's just 'go into a dungeon, then fight monsters and get rewards'. Does D&D not do that? And what are examples of a good dungeon crawling RPG? Thank you.
So there's a few reasons for this. And understand that, while I might come off as negative about various editions of D&D in this post, I don't mean to be bashing them. This is just a thing where the culture has changed and the mechanics of the game don't act like they used to.
So. The dungeon crawl. At it's basic, it's simple. There is a dungeon (and a dungeon can be a castle, a labyrinth, a wizard's tower, a tomb, or just a hole in a ground that leads to ADVENTURE). There are obstacles in the dungeon. And there is treasure. And an adventurer wants to go to the dungeon, overcome the obstacles, and get the treasure.
It's that simple. And D&D, as it is now, no longer encourages it. Why can I say that? Well...
TL;DR, because this post got REALLY LONG: The way character progression works in modern D&D has made dungeon crawls obsolete as a method of character advancement.
In WotC's Dungeons and Dragons editions, there's two ways for characters to earn experience. The main way is combat. You kill a monster, you get a chunk of experience points for it. The other way, and it's more of a suggestion in 3.x, but I think 4E and I know 5E make it more prominent, is story milestones. You complete a story, or make it a good ways in there, and you get a good amount of XP for advancing the plot. Westley and Princess Buttercup make it out of the fire swamp only to meet Prince Humperdink and Count Rugen, the six-fingered man, on the other side. Buttercup goes with Humperdink and Rugen knocks out Westley to take him to the Pit of Despair. Break 'til next week's game, you did great, I had a blast, thanks for playing, everyone collect two thousand experience points.
But in the TSR era (because WotC bought TSR about twenty-three years ago, you see. TSR invented D&D, but due to years of terrible business decisions they were basically dying. They would not have survived.) it was a little different. It changed depending on the game/edition (There was Original Dungeons & Dragons in the little brown books, the multi-editioned and sadly often forgotten Basic/BECMI Dungeons & Dragons, the much ballyhooed Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, and the far-spanning 2nd Edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons), some of them allowed for story progression, others rewarded players for roleplay or exceptional play (like coming up with a plan to save the party or something), others encouraged 'proper' playing of classes by giving experience points for appropriate ability use...
But the experience for all of these was pretty small. Oh, sure, you could get hundreds of experience points for killing a monster, but... Basic:
Tumblr media
First Edition
Tumblr media
2nd Edition
Tumblr media
Seems a little easy, yeah? Here's a 2E wizard's experience point chart. He needs the listed amount of experience points to gain a level and get more power/ability.
Tumblr media
So if he's fighting a bunch of level 1 monsters at the start of his career, he'd have to kill 166 of them to get to level 2. This isn't likely to happen. And, normally, a wizard wouldn't be doing this alone, so he'd have to split all of that XP into equal portions with each member of his party.
(For reference, in Fifth Edition, an orc, a 1 hit die monster worth 10~15 XP in earlier editions, is worth 100 XP if you kill one. You need 300 XP to reach level 2, 900 to reach level 3, and 2,700 to reach level 4. Though, of course, the party XP split still applies.)
So, how did the main XP gain happen?
GATHERING TREASURE!
Every gold piece of treasure you gathered equaled one experience point. So, five silver pieces? One XP. A ring worth 50 gp? 50 xp. A gem-encrusted set of enchanted plate mail possessing orichalcum inlays worth 100,000 gold pieces? 100,000 experience points (assuming you up and sold it).
All of the TSR editions did this. This was the main way your characters got stronger. Risky fights were stupid, you could get killed that way. It was often better to find ways to avoid them, whether through stealth, diplomacy, trickery, or fear tactics. Story was fine, but that could be wonky at times. (Dare you enter my magical realm?) But gold? Gold was as good as experience.
And under TSR, a lot of people had this concept of, like. A mega-dungeon. Massive, sprawling adventure areas, ten, fifteen, twenty layers deep, each level having possibly dozens of rooms, growing more mysterious and deadly the deeper you go, but with greater rewards as well. You'd have adventurers go down for a week or two, then come back half-dead, but carting enough gold to build a castle from. Then, three months later, when they'd rested and recovered, they'd go right back down, seeking out new caverns and probing deeper depths.
(This is, btw, why silver and copper pieces exist. It's not to simulate an economy. They're traps. Coins have weight, in OD&D and 1E, 10 coins were a pound of weight. In Basic and 2E, 50 coins were a pound. Either way, if you filled your pockets with copper and silver, you might leave the dungeon before you got any gold because you suddenly had too much to carry.)
...So, backtracking a bit:
WotC editions don't do this. They instead increase the XP value of monsters so that combat is the main way to gain experience points, and they also go "But story also matters. Progress the plot of your campaign and you'll get stronger." Which, y'know, valid.
But if your XP is based on story milestones or overcoming enemies, then diving into a deep dungeon that you've got to regularly leave just feels... counterintuitive. In a newer edition, if you leave, the monsters might repopulate, set more traps, risk killing you. It's better to kill them all while you're fresh, refusing to leave until every last monster has been purged. Having to worry about finding a place to long rest mid-dungeon, keeping track of resources like torches, rations, etc., that's not fun for some people. They tend towards single visits.
But big dungeons weren't made for that style of play in mind. If you want that style of play, dungeons need to be short, to the point. A few rooms, maybe three levels, and then you're up and out with a level up jingle playing. Sometimes you might even get campaigns without any dungeons, because why need them if you're just going to use milestones? What's the point of going into the Danger Hole if you're focusing on Political Intrigue? Yeah, the mines might be really interesting to explore if you can dodge the boss fight, and there's tons of loot, but you've really got to make it to Lothlorien.
The biggest dungeons evolve. They might change layout while the party is gone. They'll repopulate, sometimes with different kinds of monsters. The rewards will refresh themselves, but why bother with chicken feed when there's a king's feast five levels down and you've found a short cut?
They're made for repeat visits.
But that's not the modern play style. It's not rewarded by the system. Players would rather not deal with it, because it feels riskier and more dangerous.
And that's what it boils down to.
If you're interested in dungeon crawling games... Well, there's a lot of options. Older editions of D&D still exist. Various OSR (Old School Renaissance, essentially retroclones of early D&D with attempts at better editing and polish) games, like Old School Essentials, Dungeon Crawl Classics, and OSRIC are options. If you want alternatives that aren't quite so D&D, Sword World (Record of Lodoss War's RPG. Originally they tried to sell the setting of Lodoss to TSR, but TSR wasn't interested, so they made their own tabletop game.) has a lot of passionate fans that are doing translations of it. I've heard good things about GURPS' Dungeon Fantasy. And where there's a mention of GURPS, the HERO System is soon to follow with Fantasy HERO deserving a mention.
For science fiction takes, Shadowrun can often take this form (I'd suggest third or fourth edition), Traveller often takes teams in to exploring abandoned moon bases or derelict space ships, and Space Hulk is Warhammer 40k's take on this with a hefty dose of Alien to inform things. Finally, there's a ton of superhero games out there, and what superhero game is complete without a raid on a dungeonmad scientist's lair?
(Note: I haven't played all of those games, but I know all of them by reputation at the very least, and I've spoken to folks who've played each one.)

Milestone Thank You!
Tumblr media
So amidst the craziness of Hali's Happy Agust and trying to use today to get ready for a hurricane and how insane my personal life has been with my job recently, I hit another milestone! I honestly noticed today that I had passed it at some point, which was a fun little surprise for me!
I'm not going to do a milestone event for this one since I just did Hali's Happy Agust, but know that I am eternally grateful to be here all the time. Reading comments from those who enjoy my writing, hearing from mutuals, making the friends that I have and getting to read some of the most breathtaking, wonderful works throughout the year and a half I've been here has been deeply rewarding and enriching to my life.
Thank you to everyone, especially the close friends that I have made. Here is to more milestones and more epic fantasies that I intend to write for you all as my favorite corner of the world.
I'll catch you at the next milestone with an event 😉

where would I start watching joe hills stuff? seeing your posts makes me kind of want to get into his videos
HELLO and WELCOME
Joe Hills is on youtube HERE.
I recommend watching his Hermitcraft season 9 videos since they're the most recent (and I'm watching them at the moment and they're a lot of fun!!). You don't really need to know any of the other folks on the server to enjoy them and you'll just kind of pick up the broader context through episodes. Unlike a lot of other smps theres not a huge amount of roleplaying or ~deep lore~ so it's easier to get into imo (though I'd advice watching the episodes chronologically anyway).
Joe is easily one of the funniest people I've ever seen anywhere in my life, a kind and thoughtful member of the community AND a talented and brilliant builder (they're building a massive scale model of a working pinball machine in survival minecraft based on the James Webb telescope images and it's insanely cool). They write haikus and share them at the end of their Hermitcraft episodes as patreon rewards. They dress as Beetlejuice on stream (the Beetlejhost) and every time they hit a tip milestone they make their facecam bigger. They pay their discord mods a living wage. They make puns and portmanteaus all the damn time and they're usually good. They're from Nashville, Tennessee. They're willing to kill for the LGBT+ community. They wear lime green cat eye prescription glasses and lime green fishnet fingerless gloves. They don't believe in monarchies. They do typography irl and also in Minecraft, and they're REALLY GOOD AT IT, which is impressive because typography in Minecraft is HARD. One time they spent many hours transporting four TMNT-themed frogs through all three Minecraft dimensions and it was the scariest most stressful thing I've watched in years.
They also stream twice(?) a week on youtube and twitch, one Minecraft stream where they make things on the Hermitcraft server and one arts n crafts stream where they make things in the irl fleshrealm real world, both with ZombieCleo (another minecraft youtuber I also love and highly recommend <3).
They also have a tumblr and a twitter where they are hilarious and brilliant in text form and reblog lots of neat fanart and such.
I also really like the unaffiliated tumblr account @joe-hills-said, which collects his many many many wonderful things he has said in videos and streams.
There's also this decade-old video of them doing minecraft 'cooking' based on the My Drunk Kitchen youtube series and it brings me much joy.
Hope this helps!! Vote Joe Hills for MCYT Sexyman!!!
