Ok, so both of you speak French, which means there's no need to learn a new language for communication. However, I think Charles would definitely get your accent and probably copy a few of your expressions as well;

He MELTS the first time you call him "chéri";

Now you know how upset he gets when people confuse him for a French person right? But now he'll take the opportunity to mention that you're French;

"I'm Monegasque, but my girlfriend is French," with the biggest smile on his face;

The first time he met your family they made Quiche and Soufflé he almost cried, couldn't stop saying how delicious it was and how he would be bothering them for food all the time now. Turns out he wasn't joking because every available time he has, he'll drive/fly to your family house to spend time with them and eat whatever yummy stuff your grandma made - especially because she'll adapt the recipes to his athletic reality;

Date nights are basically you and him choosing typical dishes to make. Your favorite is Ratatouille, but you'll go all around the world, sometimes choosing to cook something from Japan or Colombia;

You think those Eiffel towell couples were super cheesy, but LOVED the boat date he organized and of course, you got tons of Polaroids kissing in front of the towel;

Fans will spot you two dancing and laughing during the Fête de la Musique celebrations;

You love Paris, but your city of love with Charles is probably Toulouse or Nice;

He loved the fact that you and your family were near him, a quick plane ride distance most times.

Speaking of family, your family and his are super close. So much they spend time together without you. Your siblings with his, your nana and dad with his mom, and you two just love how you become a big family.

LOTR characters and how they'd handle social media:

Frodo: It's highly possible he isn't even on social media at all. Maybe on one or two platforms, mostly just to keep up with friends who are far away. Might use something like Reddit or Quora, but only engages with serious content. But sometimes he easily gets overwhelmed with depressing news and Sam has to persuade him to disconnect for a while.

Sam: He's probably on at least one social media platform because he cares about people and wants to keep up with them. Also, he likes access to informational things. But sometimes Frodo has to stop him from scrolling too much because people's rude behavior and hateful comments can get him feeling down. His photos are mainly his plants and food he's cooked up.

Merry: Uses social media moderately. Probably on more than one platform, and is willing to engage with some silly stuff as well as serious stuff, but knows how to keep a fairly healthy balance. Likes to share memes and jokes. Sometimes posts pics of whatever he's eating (because Hobbit). Also moderate selfies (he appreciates a nice look!)

Pippin: On multiple different platforms. Uses social media a good deal. Loves to chat with people all over, show off what he's doing in the Shire, and post pics with buddies he's made everywhere. Also shares a lot of memes, corny jokes, and TikToks. Lots of good natured trolling. Also so many pics of food.

Bilbo: Ok, he insists he hates it because of all the drama, but secretly he likes to keep up on the Shire tea while sitting in his chair and getting angry about stupid & petty people. Also probably uses Facebook to keep up with his Dwarf friends and Gandalf. Also a big time social media stalker.

Gandalf: Still has Facebook only and almost never uses it. Will reply to a post after it's already been up for three years. He's secretly a lot smarter about social media than he lets on, but he also kinda thinks it's absurd so he just lets people assume he doesn't know how to use it.

Aragorn: Does not use social media, does not have social media, does not care about social media. He may be compelled to create profiles once he's king, but he probably has some assistant that manages them.

Legolas: Probably uses a few social media platforms, but not excessively. More of a liker and sharer than a poster. Almost all his photos are of some plant life or beautiful view. He's probably also in some anti-racism communities (Dwarf Lives Matter or something).

Gimli: Might use one or two social media platforms. His profile pic is either his axe or a photo he got someone to take of him with his celebrity crush Galadriel. Whichever it is, it will be his profile pic forever. Follows every Dwarf who could possibly be any distant relation. Reblogs a lot, primarily short form videos and activist posts. Immediately blocks anyone who says anything bad about Galadriel.

Boromir: Rarely uses social media. Kinda likes it, but also finds it a little confusing. Leaves encouraging comments on his friends' posts, tho, and anything pro-Gondor. (One time when someone managed to post an unusually wonderful photo of Aragorn looking regal, Boromir commented: "My brother, my captain, my king!") Likes everything Faramir has posted, ever.

Faramir: Doesn't use social media much. Tries to engage in discourse sometimes, but gets fed up with people being rude and angry. Probably has posted two pics ever, one of him and Boromir, and one of him and Éowyn.

Éowyn: Also a big time social media stalker (especially when she had to figure out if that hot Dunedain was single). Mostly posts photos of her horses. Loves activist communities.

Éomer: Rarely uses social media. His posts include a couple bad selfies but mostly horses and weapons. Ends up in a lot of arguments he didn't start (or at least not intentionally).

Galadriel: Has one (1) social media account that Arwen or Celebrían probably convinced her to create and literally never uses it. Except for that one time she had to go and make her profile pic a photo of her and Celeborn because people didn't remember she was even married and kept trying to hit on her.

Arwen: Uses social media moderately. Her page includes lots of poetry and songs. Leaves sweet comments on everyone's posts. Likes to post photos of Aragorn and insists he looks good in all of them even tho he insists he looks bad in all of them. Definitely posts something romantic every anniversary.

Elrond: Does not use social media at all and never will. Laments the negative effects it has on one's mental health.

Haldir: You know that one profile that has the person's name but no posts and no profile pic and you wonder if it's even them? Yeah, that's Haldir's social media profile. He may look at it occasionally, but doesn't really care about it.

Gollum: Posts all the nassssty thingses ever, precious! Hateful comments on Frodo Baggins' page (even though Frodo blocked him a long time ago). Rude trolling on Bilbo's page (Gandalf and Elrond told Bilbo to block Gollum, but he never quite could because he finds him too amusing). So many "Lost Ring!" posts. Pics of the "nice fish" he catches. Nobody follows him.

2009 era Damian reading

As I've been doing my 2009 era Damian reading, I'm trying to condense the good stuff and bad stuff, and things I believe are relevant for his character. These are in addition to what I assume is obvious (Batman and Robin 2009, the comic where he has a starring role).

Battle for the Cowl: this has how Damian becomes Robin. It's not necessarily good. Daniels really does not understand Damian, especially this early in his writing, but it does have some important context for things going down b/c Damian helps Squire save Tim's life, and we can see Dick viewing training Damian as something he is responsible for.

Secret Origins (2014) #4: This is a much more in character Damian becoming Robin, though fit for a condensed new 52 timeline that leaves some stuff out (like Damian's rocky intro with Bruce).

Batman #688 (Long Shadows part 1): Winick seems one of the early writers who does a Damian as he lines up with later characterization (views himself more as a professional assassin), so I think this one's good.

Batman: streets of Gotham #1-6: damian makes some minor appearances here.

Batgirl #5-7: Always take Damian's guest-starring stuff with a grain of salt, as often times writers just go with "how would an obnoxious 10 year old boy act here" without understanding he's a specific kind of obnoxious 10 year old boy... that said I do like some of his interactions with Steph, and I think it's incredibly important that we see Damian defends his competence based on his training, not on his blood.

Like he'll sometimes justify why he belongs based on his blood (which like... no one acts like they want him around), but he isn't going around saying "I'm better than you b/c I'm batman's son". he was trained intensely since birth (and that's why he should say he's better than you :P)

Batman #692-697: not a ton of Damian in this, and it is Daniel's writing, but he's a little better than he was in Battle for the Cowl. We see Dick training Damian some.

Batman: Streets of Gotham #7, #10-#11: love this plotline for him. Good show of competence and characterization.

Blackest night: batman: More focused on Tim and Dick, and Tomasi sucks at writing Babs, but at there is some Damian content that I remember enjoying.

Red Robin #11-15: as long as you read this one with your brain turned on, it's good for explaining some Tim and Damian stuff. Sadly some fans are like "woooo arrogant 10 year old gets beat up". Nicieza makes some missteps (frames Tim's thinking around Damian as coldly logical, when it is anything but and he is reacting from a place of emotion), but one can ignore those.

Batman #703: shows Damian's character pretty well in a default Batman and Robin adventure, and his relationship (or lackthereof) with Bruce and his dynamic with Dick and Alfred

Teen Titans #88-92 (including Red Robin #20 in a crossover plot): surprised by how well I liked this one. I think it portrays Damian pretty fairly, and we can see that he is trying hard, but hasn't been given a lot of support up until now (or even now, Dick kind of just drops him off with a bunch of older kids who all also have issues and are predisposed to disliking him XD). His dynamic with rose is fun and I think it is notable how quickly he does acquiesce to following Cassie's orders when she's like (at first) the only Teen Titan who is OK with him being there and assures him its not personal when she makes a comment he doesn't like.

Bruce Wayne: The Road Home: Batman and Robin: Has some nice Dick and Damian banter, showcases how they've worked together well

Batgirl #17: more damian and steph interactions.

I will probably add more (either editing this post or in a reblog) as I keep reading.

A/N: Smart schlatt because he is. I think I’m gonna do like a chapter for each year of high school. Comment like or reblog if you enjoy it is the most encouraging thing for me to know people enjoy my writing. Enjoy!

Warnings: church mentions.

The last summer before things changed, it smells of sunscreen and strawberry popsicles. You were sitting on the balcony next to your friend Jay, legs swinging over the edge. The cool metal of the fence feels nice against your thighs with the heat radiating from the sun. This school year was setting up to be probably one the worst. It was your freshman year and you were being separated from basically your only friend. He had been accepted to some fancy school for people with a genius level intellect like him. He was excited, you weren’t. You look over the edge looking at the city. You look at his face trying to decipher what he’s feeling right now, something that you had never understood. He had the popsicle stick in his mouth just chewing on the wood staring into nothingness.

“What?” He said almost harshly.

“Nothing” You guys were kind of upset with each other. He didn’t understand he was so integrated into your routine and way of living you didn’t know what you were going to do without him next to you for the next four years. Who would listen to you talk on and on about constellations and stars or would tell you when people were bullying you or being sarcastic. God these next years would be hell. Would you guys even remain friends or just lose touch and stop talking? You’re overthinking again. He promised he’d text you every day and visit you often, plus you go to the same church it would be impossible for him to not see you at least once a week.

“I’m going back inside,” he gets up and throws the stick or the railing “are you coming?” He opens the sliding door. You shake your head wanting to sit there for a few minutes longer and live in blissful ignorance, and not think about how much you were dreading everything. “Ok” he goes inside leaving you out there.

You press your head against the railing, it might be one the best feelings you’ve felt, the nice cool metal. You eventually make your way back inside. Jay is sitting on his bed playing a game on his tv.

“I should go home it’s getting late” You say bluntly.

“Just let me finish this and I’ll walk you” It’s a sweet gesture, you’d be thankful if you weren’t upset. You were happy for him sure but you’d miss him.

“Come on,” you whine “the street lights are about to turn on,” you stand by his bedroom door the cool air from the ac hits your back. His parents had an open door policy especially if it was someone of the opposite sex. “my parents will be upset”

“It’s just a few minutes,” You huff and sit next to him, your legs touching and sticking together from the sweat, it’s gross and a sensory nightmare. He finishes his game losing and gets mildly upset, cursing a storm. “Alright let’s go” He grabs his wallet and you leave saying goodbye to his parents.

You both start walking towards your house following close behind him. He makes a sudden stop outside of a bodega.

“Want a drink?” He asks, raising his eyebrows. You nod your head.

You follow him into the back, a cooler full of pretty much every drink available. You grab a passionfruit jarritos (the best drink, fight me). You and Schlatt go to check out and he pays using a card his dad gave him.

You leave the bodega and continue the walk sweating with every stop. You watch Jay put the cold bottle against his neck. You roll your eyes at him, he clearly notices. He puts the cold bottle against your neck making you cringe and shiver.

“See it feels good in this weather” He says, taking the bottle off your neck.

“I hated every second of that” You finish walking to your house.

“So,” “will I see you tomorrow?” He asks, rubbing the back of his neck.

“Yeah I’ll be there.”

“Good” he smiles, leaving to go home. You watch him till you can no longer see him.

You spend every day of summer together, relishing in comfort he provides and enjoying spending time with him, until you see him probably once a week.

(In dead royalty au)What would happen if consort was the child of some deity(maybe calypso?) And does the same as demeter? Causing havoc to have her child back

That's a good question!

ok, first of all, consort is probably a demi-god (since Calypso's island was found by mostly mortal men, I like to think that some actually wanted to stay and Calypso got her due character development. I hate her, but because I want something better).

I especially like an AU where Calypso and Antinous (one of Penelope's suitors, Odysseus' wife) meet and fall in love. Having a family together. So I think I'll go that route this time.

Calypso is definitely what the popular media thinks Demeter is. She's a loving mother, yes, but also very jealous and hates the gods with a passion for locking her away in Ogygia (and by extension her family).

and that hate increases considerably when her oldest baby manages to get out ALONE to marry a complete stranger:)

Calypso and Antinous probably didn't even realize what happened and searched for Consort for several days in Ogygia without success. So Atlas (Calypso's father) could have told her what happened and she was ANGRY.

I imagine she was so angry that she managed, even if temporarily, to cross the island's barrier and go to Olympus to complain to Zeus, who obviously wasn't going to give in to her demands.

And look, Calypso is ALTAS' daughter, who literally holds up the sky, she can probably do some pretty destructive shit like altering the tides, generating tidal waves, tornadoes, etc. all in order to get her daughter back.

Meanwhile Zagreus and Consort are not aware of what's going on outside, too busy getting to know each other better (and Zag with work because people die more out of nowhere).

It gets to a point where the gods realize they can't negotiate with Calypso, they have to do it with Zagreus.

I think it depends on whether we're talking about normal Dead Royalty Zagreus or the yandere.

The yandere would probably want to talk to Calypso personally to "discuss the problem" and would threaten her that if she didn't stop her tantrum he would make sure Consort never leaves the underworld. Ever.

Calypso might be very powerful, but she can't interfere with the world of the dead (or get there unless she dies, since she can only leave her island a limited number of times).

Obviously this would only fuel Calypso's distrust of the gods, but she would take every opportunity to see her baby.

The normal Dead Royalty Zagreus would first try to talk to Consort about it, he would want to know if they would rather go back to their mother or if they would rather stay with him. It could serve as a nice moment of confession when Consort decides to stay.

Then they would have to try to negotiate with Calypso so that she doesn't kill mortals, but Zagreus realizes that the only way to do that is to make her see Consort, and lets her do it.

Calypso stops the natural disasters the moment she sees Consort, but it definitely takes a lot, a lot of work to convince her to let her return to the Underworld.

They make a deal to come see her once a month, but if they take longer she is allowed to cause a tornado or flood😅

Calypso continues to reprimand Zagreus, but she is starting to see that it was no more hiz fault than it was Zeus'. Besides, she can't complain when her baby looks so happy.

In short, a lot of mess, but nothing that can't be fixed.

ok, primero que nada, probablemente consorte sea semi-dios (ya que la isla de Calypso era encontrada por hombres mortales principalmente, me gusta pensar que alguno realmente se quiso quedar y Calypso tuvo su merecido desarrollo de personaje. la odio, pero porque quiero algo mejor).

me gusta especialmente un AU donde Calypso y Antinous(uno de los pretendientes de Penelope, la esposa de Odiseo) se conocen y enamoran. teniendo una familia juntos. asi que creo que voy por esa ruta en esta ocacion.

Calypso definitivamente es lo que la media popular cree que es Demeter. es una madre amorosa, si, pero tambien muy celosa y odia a los dioses con pasion por haberla encerrado en Ogigya(y por extensión a su familia).

y ese odio aumenta considerablemente cuando su bebe mayor logra salir SOLO para casarse con un completo desconocido:)

Calypso y Antinous probablemente nisiquiera se dieron cuenta de lo que paso y buscaron a Consorte varios dias en Ogygia sin exito. entonces Atlas(padre de Calypso) le pudo haber dicho lo que paso y ella estaba ENCOLERIZADA.

Me imagino que estaba tan enojada que logro, aunque sea de forma temporal, atravesar la barrera de la isla e ir al Olimpo a reclamarle a Zeus, que obviamente no iba ceder a sus demandas.

y miren, Calypso es hija de ALTAS, que literalmente sostiene el cielo, probablemente ella puede hacer mierda muy destructiva como alterar las mareas, generar maremotos, tornados, etc. todo con tal de recuperar a su hija.

mientras tanto Zagreus y Consorte no son concientes de lo que esta pasando afuera, muy ocupados conociendose mejor(y Zag con el trabajo porque de la nada la gente muere mas).

llega a un punto donde los dioses al darse cuenta que no pueden negociar con Calypso, tienen que hacerlo con Zagreus.

creo que depende de si hablamos de Zagreus de Dead Royalty normal o el yandere.

el Yandere probablemente quiera hablar personalmente con Calypso para "discutir el problema" y la amenazaría con que si no paraba su berrinche el se aseguraria que Consorte nunca dejara el inframundo.jamas.

Calypso podra ser muy poderosa, pero no puede interferir con el mundo de los muertos (o llegar hasta alla a menos que muera, ya que solo puede dejar su isla un numero limitado de veces).

obviamente esto solo alinentaria el recelo de Calypso a los dioses, pero aprovecharia cada oportunidad de ver a su bebe.

El Zagreus de Dead Royalty normal trataria primero que nada hablarlo con Consorte, el querria saber si ellos prefieren volver con su madre o si prefieren quedarse con el. podria servir como un momento lindo de confesion cuando Consorte deciden quedarse.

después tocaria tratar de negociar todos en conjunto con Calypso para que no mate a los mortales, pero Zagreus se da cuenta de que la unica forma de hacerlo es haciendo que vea a Consorte, y la deja hacerlo.

Calypso detiene los desastres naturales en el momento que ve a Consorte, pero definitivamente toma mucho, mucho trabajo convencerla de que la deje volver al Inframundo.

hacen un trato de venir a verla una vez cada mes, pero que si se tardan mas ella tiene permitido causar un tornado o inundacion😅

Calypso sigue recintiendo a Zagreus, pero esta empezando a ver que no fue mas su culpa de lo que fue de Zeus. aparte de que no puede quejarse cuando su bebe se ve tan feliz.

en resumen, mucho desmadre, pero nada que no se pueda arreglar.

Ok ok, jokes aside, seriously thank you guys for all the support on the FHN event! Really didn’t actually think anyone would participate, but lo and behold, here we are! I’ve genuinely really enjoyed looking at all of your amazing art (you guys are so talented btw wtf???). Wanted to acknowledge all the talented participants, and I hope to see more! Thank you all for your artwork, I’ve gotten lots of giggles, because you guys are as funny as you are talented artists.

Now, wanna clarify, my above statement on haters isn’t vague posting any 1 person, I’ve had a few people do this, but wanted to mention it because it’s honestly hilarious. First one that immediately comes to mine is the wonderful @stripeydani and their incredible fic Ginger and Lime which they wrote for me! It's so hot!!! And I absolutely adored their characterisation of LA Knight - he's such a wonderfully cocky little sub who'll willingly be taken down a peg or two. Everybody, please go read and tell Dani how amazing they are!

I have also currently obsessed by Dastiel4ever's fic Simply for Fun but Certainly not for Revenge - it's just good old fashioned whump! A bunch of wrestlers get kidnapped and tormented - it's all I need in life! Especially when all of my favs are involved! 😈

Ok dokey, here's a tiny snippet I've just added to the epilogue of Stray:

Punk was staring out the coffee shop window, chewing on his thumbnail when Joe came back from the counter with their order; two large cups of coffee and a piece of pie. 'This to share?' Punk's eyes lit up at the sweet treat.

I HATE doing these kinds of posts, I really do, honestly. But it's something I have to say and get off my chest.

My first point is that I adore interacting with you guy's, I adore those who love my content and my creations, I adore those who take the time to comment, like and reblog my stuff, and I adore those who are polite and friendly to me when sliding into my DMs to compliment me. It means alot, and I thank you. 💚

OK, so, second point, the Asks, I can only apologise that I don't do all of the asks I get sent, I'm not a people pleaser in that regard, There's some I wanna do, and some I don't. It's not against anyone, and I'm sorry that I don't do all of them, there's also some I wanna do but FORGET 😅 and by the time I remember, i feel its been ages since the person SENT the ask, and I feel too weird doing it then lmao. But yeah, I'm also a very pick and choose what appeals to ME kinda person, not others, and I'm just being honest about that.

Point 3..Ok, this one may give off some "Dickhead" energy but in my eyes, its facts. watching the scene lay out in front of you was the very embodiment of your doomsday, it was the nearest thing to an apocalypse you'd ever seen- to your world of course. it felt like you were spiraling, you felt so asphyxiated as you watched him press himself against that- that bitch as if you didn't even exist. and almost as if the world was solely out to get you tonight, cigarettes after sex just had to start playing. like seriously, was catching your boyfriend cheat on you not gutting enough as it is, you did not need a song to tell you when to 'cry'.

pushing through the sea of people transitioning from jumping up and down to swaying with their partners was absolutely suffocating. in any other circumstance, the crowd would've been just right- like the calm ocean after a storm. but at this very moment, it felt like you were drowning, being dragged into the abysmal nothing that was the deep blue sea.

with a slam of the door, you found yourself rescued by the crisp night air. barely making it a few steps, you crumble by the side of the road. it feels like tonight the tears stung even worse than usual, you can't scream, you can't wail, your throat is all clawed up and drowning feels like it's becoming a lot more literal than metaphorical at this moment.

through your tears, the faint echo of music can be heard, and a soft clink sounds beside you.

"i think you need this more than me." he says, you cant see him clearly through the tears that still continue to pour. you look down and there's a glass bottle of whatever everyone's been drinking tonight.

"i don't drink."

"you look like you should." he comments, you can only scoff at the remark. he takes a seat beside you, a bottle in hand. he hesitates a second, but you don't tell him to bug off. there's a soft silence that comes with his presence, neither of you talk- unless you consider crying to be talking. it feels so pathetic, you can't understand what you could've done to be tossed aside so easily. but the more you think about it, the harder it becomes to contain your emotions.

"ah fuck this." you mumble, reaching out to take a swig of liquid courage. you hiss as it leaves a burning sensation down your throat, flushing your tears away leaving behind a bitter taste. the boy, shifts his gaze toward you- his head resting on his knees, hair framing his face so nicely and it feels a little unfair how fucking pretty he is.

"so much for not drinking." he says, his face is blank but there's a teasing notion to his words and just the way he was looking at you. you let him stare, violet eyes burning into your skin you feel like it's going to leave an imprint. you look back at him, under the warm glow of the street lamp. as you share the gaze, there's a feeling of guilt that has been set aflame within the pits of your heart, after all you still hadn't broken up with that jackass.

you unconsciously continue to stare at the boy, pondering. should you just break up with him through text? should you storm in and scream? should you even make a scene? maybe ghost him?

"a penny for your thoughts?" he speaks up, words so gentle it makes your heart flutter and it feels like the guilt burns worse than the alcohol.

"do you want to help me break up with my cheating boyfriend?" you think out loud. you watch his eyebrows furrow, and for a second you wonder if you made him uncomfortable. he blinks at you, and then slightly shrugs.

"sure."

within seconds, the chilly breeze outside is replaced with the smell of sweat, cigs and alcohol. it's disgusting. the boy takes your hand and lets you guide him through the horde of horny and drunk people that were either passed out or making out. you are reminded of why you didn't frequent these parties. the floor is sticky and you just hope whatever it is you just stepped on was not human fluids. and then you see him, sprawled across the couch with the same girl sitting way too close to be considered 'just friends'. with a smile so smug, that made you glad god gave you patience and not strength.

"that's him?" noticing your hesitance to move forward, the boy follows your gaze. the tears are already threatening to spill yet again, anymore and you fear the headache that follows. and yet your feet don't move, all the courage that that brown bottle clearly gave you wasn't strong enough. you barely hear his words, it feels like your body is moving on it's own as you nod. you hear the boy sigh, his hands gently grab your wrist and pulls you behind his frame. you're not able to react before he speaks up, this time his voice is a lot more harsh.

"yo asshole." he shouts, his hand still gripping onto yours, though it is a lot tighter than before. it startles people around you, and just like all humans and their natural desire to fulfil their curiosity, heads turn toward your direction. you can't even process the next few seconds, as he grabs the bottle out of your hand and pours whatever was remaining of the now warm booze down all over the cunt that sat before you.

"maybe think twice before cheating dickwad" he can't contain his laughter as he looks your now ex, up and down, eyes full of judgement. you look horrified, looking between the boy and your ex, noticing the rage building up as he spits a variety of cuss words. you can't suppress your own laughter, albeit the fact that it's slightly laced with fear- fear that your new friend would get punch right in the nose. so your feet decide it's time to get the fuck out of here, and you pull him out the door running so fast your gym teacher wouldn't have believed it was you.

there's another wave of silence as the both of you were bent over trying to catch your breath, everything that happened tonight was unpredictable and didn't feel real. you took a peek at the boy, he seemed to have the same thought as you catch his gaze. the silence is finally broken as you start laughing, like a maniac you couldn't stop your giggles. you are glad that there is no one else around to see your fit of laughter. there is still that redness and puffiness of your eyes from earlier, its odd given how drastic the contrast is to your current state, its so big that even the black hole would have a difficult time sucking it in.

"after all this, i still don't know your name." you huff. his violet eyes are morphed into that of a crescent. and with the moon as your witness, he smiles.

"you can call me, scara."

As my reblogs have been showing, i recently played Ts!Underswap and oh my god i love it so much

Its so fun to play, I love everything about it!

The detail of the animations, the details of Chara's sprite changing based on the armor, the little animations of them drying themself, sleeping, being tackled by Greater Dog, etc

The visuals, the designs, they're all so good, they really captured undertale's style and elevated it too. I really love how all the battles have special backgrounds depending on the area and who you're fighting

The way they swapped the roles but kept the personalities and other aspects was really well done. Especially what was done with Asgore, Sans and Papyrus. I keep thinking about Ruined Home and Asgore and how different it is from the Ruins and the relationship Toriel has with the area. I might make a separate post about it, but safe to say I do love how it really feels like a small community :3

The story, oh my god. Won't spoil much but the whole concept of choices in certain moments REALLY fucked me up, I genuinely almost didn't get out of ruined home because I felt SO BAD. I'm very curious about how this and the soul thing will go in the next demos!

I really enjoyed what was done with Sans and Papyrus' relationship and how it worked. Plus, Koffin-K was a very fun surprise! I didn't expect to like him as much as I did, but boy the section was very fun :3

And I didn't do the Ruthless or Evacuation routes because I already dont usually go for no mercy routes, but seeing it on youtube genuinely made me feel so horrendously bad. The way that the consequences were done, just like in undertale, were amazing.

The battles are a bit harder than undertale, but that was very welcomed. They're challenging but they're fun (Crossbones beat my ass like 7 times before I won jdnfnfnt). I do like the death dialogues a lot, it's a small thing but adds a lot to the experience

The money received is very nice too. I remember struggling a lot with money in undertale, so it's nice to be able to buy more since its not as hard to get an ok ammount of money

I like the journal thing a lot, it's so cute and charming and I just love cute journals in games <3 the menu in general is great too, I love the details borrowed from deltarune. The addition of quests, collectibles and memories is super good too.

It's impressive how much there is to do in the game already. I played for about 8 hours the first time I played, which is already about the same ammount of time I spent on my full true pacifist playthrough in undertale.

The blending of themes from the undertale is awesome too. Especially Asgore's theme being snuck in Ruined Home's music, that was a favorite of mine. But in general the ost is amazing. Their bonestrousle version is also very good

The humor is so good too, it's been a few days and I'm still not over the fact that i just COULD STEAL JOCKINGTON. I kept stopping to share the jokes and references with my friends, it was awesome

I really appreciate the quality of life options, like the borders, the audio balancing, AND ESPECIALLY the hability to not just have the game in fullscreen or the tiny tiny window. I like to switch between games and discord or whatever else, so having the minimize button while still mostly fullscreen was heavily appreciated.

I actually made a gamejolt account literally just to follow the progress on the game + to leave a comment there later. It's my first undertale fangame I've played and it did not dissapoint!

Like. Genuinely the only thing that gave me trouble was the hitbox of the rocks in the puzzles. And also I would have liked to still have encounters after reaching the towns in ruined home and starstruck isles. Not necessarily in the towns, but I backtracked a lot in starstruck isles and I did feel like there still could have been encounters in the forest. But genuinely just these issues

Tumblr was made to be a social app, for people to interact with each other and reblog posts in order to do so. That’s why there’s so many options to add responses to posts, to add tags and even send asks.

I have an ao3 and anyone is more than welcome to read my fics over there without leaving a comment, kudos or bookmark— like the huge majority do.

But on here it makes me uncomfortable to have so many blank/empty/plain blogs following me with absolutely no fandom content reblogged whatsoever or only generic posts/responses. Especially since two of the times I’ve been plagiarised it was by either a blank blog following me on here, it a k-pop blog who didn’t reblog anime content stealing my shit. So I’m sorry I don’t want them following me.

And the post you’re talking about in question, I was nice because I know that a lot of people still don’t understand the importance of reblogging your faves. Even though artists and writers go on and on and on about it, what’s the point of being mean? I only posted that response AFTER she replied to me saying that she didn’t understand the point of reblogging fanart or fanfic… even though she reblogs literal nonsense posts. That’s the part that really got me.

It does make me feel like there is something wrong with me or like in off putting when i see several big blogs talking to each other, boosting each other. But then I drop in, just say hi to be friendly, only to be ignored. When they are literally responding to various anons or other people.

It seems like they want to talk to everyone else but me. Which has me feeling like I'm in the wrong, I'm bothersome and unwanted in the fandom space. They don't have to talk to me, but my feelings are still gonna be hurt at being shunned by 90% of the blogs I try to interact with.

ok, I'm ready to talk about this now. please forgive me if i repeat myself or say smth that doesn't make sense, I'm a bit tired.

So for starters, I'm likely never ever leaving Tumblr, especially not for Twitter. BUT i have to admit that Twitter is better than Tumblr engagement-wise.

I know there's a lot of jokes about how 'ooughh why are all the cool artists only on twitter !!" but the truth is,, its because the community on twitter is more vocal. I've gotten more responses to my art on twitter than on Tumblr, and while i love the Tumblr SC community and all it's awesome artists, you guys are just .. Really quiet most of the time.

The BIGGEST problem is that no one reblogs art, and that creates less engagement*, which is very discouraging for creators and only drives them to either stop posting, or go to other apps to post. Now you might be wondering: "Why are they feeling discouraged about low engagement? Why don't they just create for themselves?" and the answer to that is: We DO create for ourselves. That's why we draw and write and compose music and make gifs. The art is for us. We SHARE it for you! If every fanartist only made art for themselves and didn't care about engagement, you would not have any content besides stuff from the source material. It's not the attention most of us are looking for, but the community. I want to know that my art is reaching people, I want people to interact with it, to ask about it, to be inspired by it, to just show that someone, anyone, likes it and wants to see more. I wanna know that I'm not screaming out into the void. So please, consider contributing to the community you're in by sharing the work of your favorite artists. *(Because Tumblr isn't like Twitter or Instagram. reblogs are the only way posts can be shared on this app. Likes and replies do NOTHING to spread the post around. Likes are basically just bookmarks. The only thing they really do is add more notes to your post, which helps get it to the 'Top' of the tags page.) This is an example of a GOOD like to reblog ratio! (the only thing that would make it better is if 3/4ths of those reblogs weren't made by the same person.)

"But Doodler, what if I like the post but don't want it on my main blog for xyz reason?"

That's a fair reason, but you don't have to worry about that bro. you can just make a sideblog!! If you didn't know, Tumblr lets you do that without having to create a second email.

if you're on desktop, just click the little account icon and press on the '+ New' button next to the Blogs section, and it should take you to a page where you can create a new sideblog.

(Keep in mind that any settings you have on your main will not be transferred to your sideblog, aka, you have to manually change the settings of each individual sideblog you make, and if you wanna block people from seeing your sideblog, you have to go into the settings of that blog and type out the names of the blogs you wanna block into the blocked Tumblrs section.)

"Okay, but I have nothing to add to the post."

That's perfectly fine!! You don't have to leave a comment, just reblogging is enough to show support! Think of it this way: A reblog means "I love your post so much, I wanna share it with everyone who follows me!" A like is a nice gesture, like giving a thumbs up as you're walking by. It's sweet, but it doesn't really help the artist.

"But it takes more time to reblog than to like a post."

That's only true if you're not using the quick-reblog feature!

^ To reblog a post quickly on desktop, you can either hover over the post and hit the Shift + R key, or you can hold E and click on the post you want to reblog! The only cons to this method is that it only reblogs to your main (at least as far as I know, feel free to correct me if you know how to quick-reblog to a sideblog). But it's different on mobile! If you hold the reblog button for a few seconds, this should appear:

and you can swipe in the direction of the blog you want to reblog it to! Cons of this is that it only shows the first 3 blogs in your blogs list, so if you have multiple unused sideblogs, you have to drag your most used sideblogs to the top. (On desktop, click on the account icon on your sidebar, then use the 4 dots next to the username to drag the blog up or down. idk if there's a way to do this on the mobile app.)

"No one reblogs my art, so why should I reblog theirs?"

I understand your anger, BUT, reblogging other people's posts can actually get YOU more engagement!! Whenever someone reblogs my post with a nice comment, I tend to go through their blog to see if I can somehow return the gesture. We can only fix this culture of taking from and not giving artists if we work together.

"Isn't it weird to reblog a lot of posts?"

NUH UH!! It's actually weirder to NOT reblog posts. This site is built on reblogging. A lot of the most popular posts are ones with long chains of reblogs with people talking to each other in the additions, or via tags. Unless you're making a blog that exclusively for your art or something, your blog should be about 90% reblogs, 10% original posts. Of course it varies, but basically, more reblogs than original posts is the norm on this app. Also, reblogging is ESPECIALLY important if you're currently an empty blog with no avatar. Empty blogs are suspicious because a lot of bots look like empty blogs. I've had to stop myself from blocking some of you because you didn't have a title, didn't have an avatar, and/or didn't have any posts on your blog. Lastly, although I'm emphasizing reblogs in this post, know that there are other ways of interacting with blogs you like!! That could include using the ask feature. Some blogs let you send an anonymous ask(like my blog !!) so you don't have to worry about them knowing who you are if you wanna send a nice comment but are too shy to show yourself. Or you could try drawing or writing something for them and tagging them under the post. Any interaction is better than no interaction.

TL;DR: Reblog posts or artists will stop sharing things with you, and please try to interact with people in the fandom so that it feels more like a community and less like an endless void.
