Raihan x GN Reader x Piers!

Everyone's got that same question to ask you, how did YOU date both Raihan and Piers, two of Galar's regions most sought after influencer boyfriends? Those two were always known as an exclusive set, having not sought after anyone in consecutive years!

Well first off the whole reason why the two idiots even started dating each was directly because of your influence.

Before you were put in the spotlight of dating two of Galar's well known leaders, you basically helped Piers get the courage he needed to confess to Raihan, having been his friend prior to his gym leader career.

Piers would always sigh and lament, forlornly staring out the rainy weather out from his room that he had fallen into a sort of, Beauty and the Beast situation.

Piers had his eye on Raihan for a while since both were picked to be gym leaders at around the same time from a list of candidates. The two were known to be close friends at the time, but after they became gym leaders, both of them had grown distant.

Piers took it as some kind of puppy love crush that he had on Raihan but it's clear that he never really got over it.

So you being the little investigative twerp you are, you decide to befriend Raihan to get to know him as well. Raihan agrees to be your friend cheerfully but you start to note that he asks a lot of questions about Piers.

How is he? Is he doing alright?

You ask Raihan why he cares about Piers though they don't speak anymore and Raihan reveals a secret about the selection process of being gym leaders.

Spikemuth is known to be the least popular city in all of Galar because there's no stadium to dynamax there.

There seems to be something more to this story though. You investigate and question your two friends a bit more about what happened.

On Raihan's side, when they were both selected to be gym leaders, Piers brushed him off and left him without closure.

On Piers' side, he thought Raihan looks down on him/pities him for being Spikemuth's leader after overhearing the other candidates complain about Spikemuth. He never willingly chose to be Spikemuth's leader but once he was selected he had to do something to help the locals, which led to his music career down the line. Due to his position, Piers was misled into thinking that Raihan thinks ugly of him.

You get the two idiots in the same room and just get them to talk.

Their dating starts off slow and steady, it had been a couple of years since they last saw each other outside of work, but they eventually did become an item because of your encouragement.

But eventually, they start asking you to tag along to their dates. You're weirded out by it but they're your friends so why not. You're more than happy to spend time with them, even if it's on their date.

but then they happen more often. The three of you together.

You eat together, you play together, you take care of your Pokemon together, it all starts becoming very domestic.

On an afternoon when you're sitting down, with the two coming to join you, you openly ask, "Hey are we dating," and Raihan immediately goes, "Yes."

You immediately turn your head to look at both of them. "Well it would have been nice if either of you told me!!!!" You start hurling sofa pillows at them. Raihan starts laughing while Piers immediately starts apologizing.

Since you couldn't decide who you should kiss first, they decide for you. Piers on your left, Raihan on your right, kissing your face cheeks at the same time.

mm you know me! i love to design a stand and have vauge ideas for it but never be able to flesh out abilities

Tiny Butterfly I know I have the general over arching ideas for it. I know I want it to be a none combative stand, it doesn't fight and instead works as a pure support stand often wavering of self preservation especially into its later Acts. I REALLY want the evolution of TB to reflect in Lucy's child innocence. Lucy is the eldest daughter of her family and she has always had to step up to everything, Lucy has a problem not understand she is a child and that she shouldnt HAVE to be the one taking care of everything for everyone yet, its ok for her to be protected and not have to face scary adults yet. Her stand is a protector for her and those she cares about. It is her innocence and safety.

I know Act 1 is nearly a nothing stand, its just a swarm of butterflies that especially at first Lucy really doesn't have much control over it. It works great for Recon and relay. In ways it can be like uhh, the best way I think to put it is like Spidey senses. Its a FAR range of sensory that Lucy is able to detect danger with. Lucy not knowing she has the Holy Corpse Heart or a stand yet, wouldn't even think much about the butterflies she was seeing from time to time and the first major use of them I picture in my rewrite is during my Two Step and the Eye of Ruby arc where my lil oc Two Step has been sent to track down Hot Pants after she was labeled as Lucy Steels Murderer (as well as a secret second mission to retrieve corpse parts for the president). Two Steps stand ability is just the ability to hid behind any objects, not very strong but incredibly stealthy. Hot Pants and Diego dont Notice Two Step at all but Lucy clock them immediately not even realizing it was her Stand ability warning her to the hidden stand user.

Other uses tend to be seeking help, the message isnt straight forward and clear as it tends to just be butterflies landing on or around people as a message Lucy is looking for them. Diego is the first to get the idea of it being a stand and following them (though the first time he isnt aware it is Lucy's stand). First time this happens is also in the Two Step arc where Two Step has been trying to get Hot Pants and Diego alone to jump them but their either together and bickering or Lucy is always around nowing where they are. So Two Step trying to get Lucy alone (a much easier task so early into HP and Diegos watch over her in the story) and take her out first. While under duress from the stand user Lucy subconsciously calls out for help and Diego is the one to answer. The two ending up in a fight against Two Step who is at their limits with this group. I also picture this being where Tiny Butterfly evolves to Act 1, its a fast evolution but in the act of Diego coming to save her and being the one to take care of the situation instead of Lucy by herself.

(i also picture Diego finding out she has the heart and a stand and while still early into his character development trying to keep it a secret between him and her because he still wants the corpse for himself)

other times i picture Act 1 being involved is during the Ride the Lightning arc when HP and Diego give Lucy to Johnny and Gyro for awhile because their worried these stand users are catching on to Lucy's location and are in more danger with them. Only for Lucy and Johnny to nearly be killed by stand user Cash hired to hunt them down by the president. Diego coming to their aid and saving them.

and the last Major time near the end of the story, Diego and HP have presumably died, both Lucy seeing having been killed in some manner as far as she could tell. However in reality they both lived by the skin of their teeth with HP managing to get away from the pull of Love Train and getting to Diego in time to heal his wounds with Cream Starter. However Lucy and Johnny once again have found trouble as their far down the train line and off into the city fighting against an alternate world Diego, a horrible reality Lucy is facing as a dark twisted version of the man who she came to care for her a brother is threatening her life. Tiny Butterflies summons base world Diego to her aid.

as for Act 3, i have no idea what i exactly want to do. I think I want it during the Ramalama Daisy Arc which i picture as a Lucy and Hot pants Heavy arc for both their growths. With HP having to accept her past, who she has become as a person and how she needs to grow as a person or die stuck as a person. Lucy also realizing that though she cares for everyone so much and does want to do what she can, its not her job to save everyone and carry their emotional baggage. She is 14 she wants to be treated right and not have to always be scared and worried about everything. lanes merging as HP fully steps up not just to protect Lucy because of her connecting Lucy to her brother, but because she cares about Lucy as Lucy.

but all in all i want it to have supportive action abilities, being protective of Lucy and minimizing damage.

Alastor does sometimes sleep by the fishtank, yes! He also feeds the sharks himself not trusting anyone else to do it.

Alastor also kept Vark; who was at the Vees tower during the fight and was Alastor's deathday gift to Vox. (He had to pay handsomely for Vark to be brought in from the Envy ring) that last Deathday was recorded by Vox (much to Alastor's chargin at first) but during those 7 years it was so heavily watched that Papermint (Vox's canon eel assistant, now Alastor's) had it copied multiple times.

Vark was trained by Alastor and imbued with some of Alastor's powers, so he can't ever die. (So Al can't ever lose this piece of Vox either.) Vark is still growing because of it, though. (He also ate Arackniss, and anyone Alastor wants to give a special message to their family too.)

Vox's bed is sprayed every day by Niffty with Vox's perfume, and during Alastor's worst days (where he doesn't/cannot sleep), she brings in suits/shirts/pants/pajamas/undergarments that she had immediately vacuum sealed (that still carry Vox's scent) opens them up and hands them to Alastor, the stag immediately burying his nose into them, sleep beginning to claim him.

When Alastor finds out Vox is Alive, well....if Vox hadn't been working with the Morningstars when Alastor had found out, and it'd just been another overlord pair, he'd have called in a favor from Rosie, pulled Valentino's and Velvette's chains, all of their Souls and gone to war.

Now though...he'll be patient. He'll join his beloved in bed every night, curling around him, becoming the big spoon, secretly feeding his rather scrawny mate. He does stamp his hooves in victory when he first sees Vox happily gorging his cooking again. Yes, Angel had to disguise it but that was okay. Vox said it was the best lobster roll he had in awhile.

what is Bendy? I had seen a few questions about him as a person and that he is a demon and he's not supposed to exist or in the world where the reader lives in more so

so what exactly is he? i find it interesting as he is one of the few characters in the book where we dont know much about him, like we know that Cuphead and Mugman came from their home in search for elder kettle, and then Felix from what was recently found out, was that he had been on his own ever since a child bc of his moms passing, which by the way i do think that also links with her having the ink illness, and then theres Panchito who we techncally dont have much abt him other than that he can from mexico in search for everyone and lives on a farm, and then you mentioned oswald is the older brother of Mickey and does have relations with the others he just hasnt been around bc of his own reasons and then donald, well he's donald from as far as i know, the only two to me that are really mysterious to me is Y/n and Bendy, and thats soley bc of the fact that it was mentioned they were close friends, yet they dont meet each other up until recently, and we have no idea who y/n is in fact, its already known that she dosent even have friends bc of the fact that she's almost ALWAYS at home,which can explain for her very offish way with talking to people and how it seems to me she has a hard time making friends, ive came to terms that she probably was secluded all her life BECAUSE of Bendy, and you also hinted at that too awhile back, which to me can either mean Bendy isnt necessarily a good person, or maybe at first he wasnt to which made y/n's family just sort of stopped being around him. I find it cool that he's hinted at being a real demon as he has the power to grant wishes, I have even more theories im going to SEND!!!

- So I’m not going to lie, bathing or showering with Robaire PROBABLY isnt new if you both have been together for awhile. Baths are one of his favorite ways to relax with you & he will have no shame sitting with you in a tub for an hour just listening to you talk. You can talk about anything too- he’ll just listen and smile and hold your hand! He gives it little kisses every so often just to make you grin

- And unless you set up the bath- he’s going to make a nice hot water bath with one of his expensive ass bath bombs (and hey if you want to choose- you can! He definitely has ones w/ stuff like jewlery inside, you always get to keep whatever comes out). I imagine a lot of his bath bombs smell like mints or coffees, they’re strong so he’s not really offended if you dont want one. He will go out & get ones of smells you like though- just for you and him to use together

- But baths with Robaire are ✨relaxing✨ anytime. Depending on where he’s situated in the tub, he’ll be rubbing either your back & arms or your chest & shoulders. He’s very determined to get you to loosen up in the bath. If you refuse to then he’s going to bury you with kisses ok your jaw, neck, & shoulders while he grumbles about how you deserve rest (and the world. He’s a simp). He’s also definitely going to serenade you from time to time, him & T share this trait & it’s precious. He’ll make up a little tune anout the both of you in a bath

- He’s surprisingly not all that flirty or dirty minded in the bath, even if you get playful he’ll still have his goal of getting you to relax. Though- how you choose to ‘relax’ can completely be up to you as long as you ask him 👀

- And now while he’s very level headed & suave in the tub after a bit, when you both first took a bath together to ‘relax’??? He was a fucking mess. It doesn’t matter if he’s seen your body before, the mans face was heated and full of blush. And when the both of you were against each other in the tub?? He could not for the life of him look you in the eye. He was so fucking shy & blown away by how absolutely wonderful you looked. He’s too flustered to tell you that though- you’ll probably have to bring him back down to earth with kisses or a thump to the head

- Also im just going to say there’s no way the two of you actually like ‘relaxed’ the first time y’all bathed together. He is a very basic man who loves his absolutely stellar S/O & he will apologize profusely for anything that happens under the water (👀)

- No but really Robaire is a man of service. Relaxing baths with him are great, he probably wants to do them often with you to take off his own stress (hold him- please he needs it). After the bath he’ll always help you dry off & get dressed if you let him. You both probably smell like vanilla or lavender from the bath bomb

- He’s a very wholesome person for his lover in the bath, he does whatever he can & is really just a sweetheart overall

- ok so like- anytime you ask to bathe with Jesse he just gets a big cocky grin on his face. He probably makes some kind of teasing remark like “oh you want to ‘relax’ with me in the tub huh? Suuuurreee”. Just smack him- honestly. He has no problem bathing with you but do understand you’ll need to yank his mind out of the gutter

- It’s not even that he’s necessarily a perv or anything, he just sees bathing together as a VERY intimate activity. Just as intimate as other bedroom activities 👀. But if you’re really stressed & just need some time with him? He’ll do his best

- Jesse doesn’t mind setting the bath up, he likes the water to be really fucking hot though so unless you’re ready to step into steaming bubbly water you need to watch him & make sure he doesn’t boil you. And speaking of bubbles, jesse has some of the best & weirdest body wash? It works amazingly & smells like the freshness of nature but it bubbles up insanely (and he 100% lets you give him a bubble mohawk)

- Baths with Jesse are… playful to say the least. Even if you’re in need of relaxing he’ll be trying to find ways to get you riled up & giggly unless you tell him no. He ALWAYS insists on sitting behind you too, even if you’re bigger. He wants you to lean back on him so he can rub your chest & stomach (also he probably playfully pinches you to keep your attention, im sorry but i cannot view him as anything other then a little teasing shit). And if course he isn’t opposed to giving you a massage- he’s good with his hands afterall! The only issue is that Jesse is VERY strong, and he can be a bit rough on accident so you need to tell him if he’s being too much

- Otherwise baths with Jesse are flirty & sweet. He makes bad puns & every time you groan or whine at how bad it is he’ll just kiss your shoulder (honestly he’s also probably bitten you before just to get a reaction). But really he’s going to be flooding you with mildly inappropriate compliments about how good you look or how nice it feels having you wrapped up in his arms. And if you’re genuinely still upset he will talk it out with you & drop the flirty persona

- So Jesse is confident in his body, he thinks hes pretty afterall✨ but you?? You he thinks is better then the entire fucking world. So when you asked him to bathe with you the first time he just- he stopped working. Jesse straight up froze & just looked at you for a long time. When he finally processed what you said, his face & ears went pink with blush and a smile crept onto his face. Even if he’s seen your body before- like i said he sees bathing together as very intimate. So he’s IMMEDIATELY excited. You’ll have to explain its JUST for laying around and relaxing, he’ll be a little deflated but it wont take long for him to get back on his bullshit & make you as flustered as possible. Seeing you in the bath w: bubbles just makes Jesse go feral (im sorry) so a lot of the first bath with Jesse was him lowkey trying to feel you up with loving back & shoulder rubs (accompanied by kisses ofc)

- After baths he makes sure you don’t slip & die or anything- don’t let him dry you though. That always turns into something else (im so sorry again)

- Overall- hes sweet. Loving- a little TOO loving for certain things, but he’s good & well behaved when you tell him to be

- Also i want to point out- i dont think jesse is OFTEN such a feral horndog- i think baths are just a thing for him

- His face & ears are red. Doesn’t matter if you guys do it every day or once a year. The guy is red. He cannot help it. You are simply too perfect & amazing looking in the tub. Tae isn’t even always embarrassed or surprised, his face just heats up at the idea of a bath with you

- Similarly to Jesse- Tae views bathing together a very intimate task! And he’s like, super honored that you EVER want to do that with him. He’ll be sure to be extra careful and loving! But truthfully until you guys have tried it a few times- Tae isn’t really going to know what to do

- He’s willing to run the bath but he’s going to ask you a lot of specifics about how you want it. He’s a bit indecisive & honestly probably prefers showers over baths (he wont say that though- he doesn’t want to discourage you). If you tell him you don’t care or want him to surprise you though?? He’s gonna run a small warm bath, toss a bath bomb in that smells like flowers, and probably light a candle to accompany it

- In the bath with you he’s a bit bashful at first, he’s never sure if he should sit in front of you or behind you but once he’s situated & starts to unwind with you his more playful nature will come out. Tae Young is by no means perverted in the bath but- he’s not exactly innocent. He’ll be covering your face or shoulders in gentle kisses, telling you how much he’s enjoying the bath- but every so often he’ll just randomly mumble something about wanting to do ‘more’ after the bath. It always throws you for a fucking loop too, there will be absolutely no fucking warning for it. One second he babbles about how beautiful your eyes are & the next he mumbles about how good you sound when- [redacted]

- Aside from these little comments though, Tae is sweet in the tub. He’ll offer to try & give you a massage or he’ll listen & talk you through your stress while the both of you lay around together. He doesn’t mind helping you clean up or even letting you wash him up. He just is happy to share this time with you (and you’ve found that if you give Tae enough little kisses in the bath his face starts to cool down & remove the blush because you help him unwind)

- The first time you ask him to do something like this you swear he started squealing like a boiling tea kettle. He’ll deny it but it’s exactly what happened. He’d probably flood you with questions about it like: bathe together? Us??? Like you and me? Why? Do you need help? Is something wrong? Are you having a hard time?? Do we need to schedule a doctors appo- you’re going to have to cut him off. He doesn’t mean to pry its just such a surprising request for him! He wasn’t expecting it, even if the two of you had been together for awhile. If the questions discourage you- he’ll quickly back himself up & just drag you to the bathroom with a red face & ears. The first bath was a littke awkward at first & involved a lot of tae overcoming bashfulness, but by the end of it he was definitely giving you shy & hopeful kisses in the tub ✨

- And if course Tae Young is a gentleman so he always offers to help you dry off & get your clothes for you if you need (or just help you get dressed if you ask) after you’re both out & dry Tae is the cuddliest & most loving thing ever. Baths always help him feed connected to you & he loves it

- When you ask to bathe with T there are 2 ways this might go- Option 1: He’s super fucking excited & bolts off to go start the bath (which you need to watch him & make sure he doesn’t use too many fucking bubbles) or Option 2: He’s going to be like ‘oh thank fuck you asked’ because he’s ALSO in need of some relaxing & is too worried about bringing it up

- T sees bathing together as a super casual thing, no one is sure why or when he developed this idea- but the both of you definitely do this often. He’s probably a bigger fan of showers but he says he loves the bath cause he gets to be your ‘bubble bestie’ (he definitely gives you a bubble mohawk or bubble horns- you cannot stop him)

- T always wants to run the bath, he likes getting to do stuff for you. So even if he’s tired he’ll get up & go wander to the bathroom to start everything up if given the chance. When he’s excited he uses a bubbly body wash that smells like sweets & bubblegum- but when he’s more tired he prefers using a bath bomb that smells like honey or flowers & makes the water shimmery (he loves running his hands through water & watching its shimmers swoosh around)

- Surprisingly T isn’t actually too dirty minded in the bath. He’s playful sometimes sure- but if you said you wanted to relax then your man is gonna help you relax. He insists you sit in front of him in the tub so he can rub & scrub your back & shoulders (hot take but T is a big fan of skin care & will rub skin washes on you that make you extra soft & smell nice). He’s also probably a big fan of scrubbing your scalp & washing up hair (if you’ve not really got hair- he’s still massaging your scalp uvu) But honestly- if its a bath time when T is upset & stressed?? You can probably fight him & get him to sit in front of you. He needs it & really enjoys it. If you scrub his scalp & hair then he will be eternally grateful & will make it up to you with kisses & lovings later

- Bonus: T loves singing in the bathroom, he will serenade you! Unlike Robaire though, T actually just straight up sings songs (not random tunes). His voice is deep & its pleasant. He doesn’t mind if you doze off for a few minutes, he’ll wake you up

- T is generally pretty good in baths though, like i said he views it very casually & thinks its just fun to do. If he’s ever in a ✨spicy✨ mood then it becomes abundantly clear when he’s with you in the bath (the only dumbass to challenge Jesse in flirting skills is T & i stand by that). So if he’s in one of these moods you’re going to be in for a very teasing filled time with pinches & gropes and your side (respectfully ofc- he’ll stop if you tell him to)

- T offers to help dry off too- he wont try to force it or anything, not unless you’re hurting. (And if you are then he’s super sweet & loving) But be warned, if T helps you dry off & get dressed while he’s in a good mood & all is fine?? Then you’re taking a risk. Because no matter how strong the both of your loves may be for one another- T is by no means above popping you in the ass with a towel. The other bandmates have spoken of such horrifying events between T & themselves- and AARON T IS FUCKING MERCILESS. But if you can pop him back✨ it gets him so excited & riled up- his smiles & laughs for when you fight back are absolutely to die for

- Now the first time the both of you do actually bathe together- you can watch T’s face light up & hear in his voice how excited he was to do it. His cheeks are dusted with a bit of pink from it but overall he’s absolutely hyped to bathe with you! And if you’re tired and worn down from a bad day- he’ll try to tone it down. He’ll cup your face in his hands & cover you with kisses. And when the both of you are actually in the bath together for the first time- he’s an absolute snuggle bug. He’s giving you kisses and telling you how wonderful you are all while making little remarks about how you’re just too good for the world

- Overall?? T is good for baths. He’s loving & pretty chilled out in comparison to some of the other boys. He could probably be a little less silly but yknow- jokes are a part of the Aaron T package deal

- We all know Z is a protective simp & absolutely adores you. Taking a bath with him carries on those same vibes. And im not going to lie- it’s probably VERY VERY unlikely he actually takes a bath with you. I can’t really see you getting him to sit in a tub with you & relax, he just infinitely prefers showers. SO THATS WHAT WE GET FOR HIS

- But yknow- just in case you absolutely NEED a bath with him- you can run your hand up the side of his arm slowly & just ask real nice & sweet. He’ll fucking melt & have to agree. Its awkward but- he’ll grumble and do a bath with you. He’s a bit too big (in his mind) to sit in a tub so he’s uncomfortable but he’ll try his best for you & just focus on smothering you with love

- ONTO THE SHOWER STUFF THOUGH! He has no problem taking showers with you. He’ll start everything up & get into the shower first to make sure its the right temperature for you- he refuses to let you ‘risk burning’ yourself because his water gets fucking HOT. (Also he always wants to use his own shower smh) It always makes him blush seeing you step in with him though- no matter how many times hes seen your body he’s absolutely blown away by how perfect you look to him

- Also you’re always in front of him. Doesn’t matter how big you are, he wants you to have the hot water hitting you so you dont get cold (he’s too fucking kind). That being said though- he gets cold so he’s going to be keeping close to you. The shower could be giant but he’s going to be pressed against you no matter what. Its hardly ever in a perverted sense, he’s just very loving when he’s touching you. He’ll be running his hands up & down your hips to try & soothe you! He’ll leave kisses on your shoulder and just give the sweetest hugs at random in the shower. He’s not always sure what to do to help you unwind but he’s willing to try whatever

- On the rare occasion he gets frisky in the shower, he’ll tease you with pinches on your thighs & hips. Nothing too hard- just something to annoy you & rile you up a bit. He also offers massages WHICH ISNT SOMETHING HE TENDS TO DO IF YOU DONT ASK- OTHERWISE HE WANTS SOMETHING. Its a dead give away to a frisky Z & you can do whatever you want with that info (and if you ever want to knock him off his game- just start doing the same shit back. Put your hands on his hips & gently rub his sides & watch him fucking crumble). This is all of course- all only done if he sees you aren’t too upset or distressed.

- Also— the first time you ask him to shower with you, you could swear you heard a record scratch. He immediately freezes & a blush slowly creeps its way onto his cheeks. He’s going to forget how to speak- so he’ll be kind of staring at you slack jawed & surprised. You’ll need to snap him out of it. But your loving simp wastes no time in agreeing & offering to go start everything up. And let me tell you- Z FUCKING BROKE WHEN YOU STEPPED INTO THE SHOWER WITH HIM FOR THE FIRST TIME. Deadass he had to turn and look away & collect himself. Even if it wasn’t his first time seeing you in all your glory the man absolutely melts into a bashful mess upon seeing you in the shower under the water & steam. You’ll need to help him warm up to the concept of the both of you in the shower (the loving Z for most of this is definitely only the way he is after a few showers together). He’s your sweet loving & protective boyfriend! But he thinks you’re perfect- too perfect sometimes- and it overwhelms his little simp heart & he just doesn’t know what to do

- And as you’d expect Z does like to help you dry off & get dressed. He will waddle out of the shower early even- just to go toss your clothes in the dryer for a few minutes to heat them up & bring them back for you. He’ll have goosebumps by the time he’s back so please also help him dry off & get snuggled up in warm clothes

- overall- Z is a horrible guy for baths but GREAT for showers. You really wont be seeing him sit in a tub often, you can try though

but if you rly wanna do a onceler, i think it’s okay if your gimmick matches an existing onceler, especially if the blog is no longer active. like how many oncelers themed around being monsters or curses do u think exist?? so many. countless, but they're all kewl bc what matters is how you approach the character and give it your own twist! unless it’s something super specific, i don’t think anyone would mind if another idk retail onceler existed for example (thinking of retail bc i’m at work rn abloo bloo)

if this is your first time joining, i'd definitely try to pick something you're passionate about as a theme or set of personality traits! it'll keep you going and strong at the start of it all before the ball officially gets rolling.

also idk if you plan to do art or not but dont be discouraged if you dont! or if you dont think your art "is good enough"!!! some of the biggest oncelers in the fandom (swag and gent are the immediate first to come to mind) had mods who didnt draw for their posts and they still were well received! what matters is how much the concept means to YOU and how much passion you put into it. and ultimately: what matters most is if you have fun with it! :3

julebees are human-bee hybrids that go out and find demigods and sometimes other human hybrids. they rarely ever find other human hybrids though, because theyre mostly born in the town of Craelune

let’s talk more about Craelune! Craelune is a town where demigods, hybrids, and outlaws live together because it is not currently safe for them outside of Craelune. Either or, there’s a group of people who kill those that reside in Craelune or there are things only they can see that hunt them down.

If,

A) There is a group of people trying to kill them,

then they will be the main antagonist. But if,

B) Something only they can see is hunting them,

then they must find the oak tree that powers the great big bad monster’s energy and poison it, because that monster can tell where they are at all times but is too big to move, SO it tells smaller monsters where they are and to kill them. Once the oak tree is destroyed, the gang must kill the monster.

anywho back to Craelune! Craelune is located in an abandoned forest in Norway. It used to be in California, but their town was overrun by monsters and soon destructed as they relocated. The area in which they lived is still protected by a magical barrier, but it only repels humans right now. They aren’t sure if it still even works, as the monsters broke through it.

There’s a school in Craelune that holds many other schools inside of it. The entire building *is* The Academy of Craelune but within it is like School of Flying, School of Fighting, School of Spells, Witchery and Mages(though is usually shortened to School of Spells), and other normal mortal like classes(cooking, medicine, mathematics etc).

Crime rates inside of Craelune are nearly 0, because its a community of ultra magical people surviving. However, there are officers who survey the area to make sure that no monsters come in and that snotty little kids don’t steal, or maybe teenagers.

The town of Craelune uses drachmas, as James Craelune(the founder) found a mine of them when he first founded Craelune and decided to just use those, but people have been wanting to switch to mortal money for awhile. Rich folk in Craelune (those who wield 100,000 drachmas or more) are either snobby shitheads or really kind people. They’re also usually mages.

So, what exists? Well, demigods! The main star of the show. There are children of most gods, and they live together in a dormitory. The dormitory is honestly more like a hotel, and each floor is a different god. Some floors are nearly empty, some are bustling. Every floor is endless and a new room will appear if you are discovered as a god’s child. You will get your powers evaluated, or your divine parent will claim parentage. But what if your parent never claims parentage, or your powers are too hard to figure out? Well, you reside on Floor X, which is unfortunately very full.

I think its also worth mentioning that a god is claiming that they are your parent, which means a god who isnt your parent could totally claim you.

Once your divine parent is found, your room can be magically moved to the correct floor or you can request a complete bare room to start over.

In the dormitory, there is a cafeteria where demigods can eat but not with other children. Breakfast, lunch and dinner must be eaten separately. During dinner, the massive tables that the demigods eat at will rearrange themself into a massive circular table, and in the middle a helper will read names of the unclaimed/unevaluated to see if they’ll get claimed. They rarely ever do, but its nice to keep trying. Also, this is an absolute nightmare for demigods first day who missed orientation.

(i didnt specify when writing this, but by separately i mean they cannot intermix godly parentages within their long ass banquet tables they eat at.)

The rooms are also enchanted to change to your desires. There are limits, like nothing illegal, and nothing too big. Strictly room decor. That’s why a lot of goblins attempt to sneak into the demigod’s dormitory, so they can force a demigod to summon a room made of gold or other things they want. Goblins are always welcome in Craelune but theyre often criminals.

The rules of the demigod dormitory!

- No mixing parentages in rooms.

- Max of 4 roommates per room. If you would like a roommate, you may not pick.

- No cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, cannabis, and other illegal substances.

- No alcohol.

- No parties.

- No skipping meals unless it is required medically, prophetically, or in some other, important way.

- No fighting.

- Be safe, respectful, and responsible.

What classes are mandatory for demigods? There’s fighting, usually with swords but a demigod may use a different weapon (besides firearms) if they wish. Seeing as demigods are often sent off on “adventures” (They’re actually called quests, investigatio, and missio depending on what type they are but adventure basically sums it up), they must train to fight monsters and other powerful things.

Demigod’s powers! What powers does each child have?

- Children of Zeus:

: Children of Zeus have the power to manipulate air around them to fly, summon lightning, change the weather, shapeshifting, and summon raw electric energy.

- Children of Poseidon

: Children of Poseidon can control water, speak to horses, create earthquakes that vary depending on the demigod, create storms (which often creates a rivalry with Zeus kids).

- Children of Hades

: Hades has no children, as he is married to Persephone. Except he does, and they’re technically not half mortal as he had them with Persephone but he wanted to have a child in Craelune so he put a curse on them that limited their abilities to that if they WERE half mortal.

- Children of Apollo

: Children of Apollo have the ability to heal, control and emit light, force someone to tell the truth, give someone a plague or disease (varies depending on the demigod), and make things happen through poems.

- Children of Ares

: Children of Ares are insanely strong. These children usually fight with their fists or very brutal weapons due to their boosted bloodlust. They can also instill violence in others and aggravate them merely by talking if they wish.

- Children of Aphrodite

: Children of Aphrodite all have a specific charm to them and are great at convincing others to do their bidding. Some children of Aphrodite are able to instill a deep greed that may drive someone insane. Also, they’re all insanely beautiful.

- Children of Hermes

: Children of Hermes are very sneaky, able people. They have the ability to turn invisible but only if they have the desire to steal. Every single child of Hermes can sweet talk their way out of situations where they’re caught, but only to those who are weaker to them either mentally or physically. SOME children of Hermes can run incredibly fast, and just do things incredibly fast. Now this is *insanely* rare, but very few can teleport.

- Children of Athena

: Children of Athena are insanely intelligent. They usually orchestrate the adventures that demigods go on. They can also sense a spider within a 900 mile radius, which sucks, because there are usually tons of spiders in a 900 mile radius and theyre either deathly afraid of them or have an intense hatred.

(None of Athena’s children are by blood, but more over she gave birth to them with her mind and or blessed a random mortal with abilities that a child of hers would have.)

- Children of Hephaestus

: Children of Hephaestus can make almost anything, and most usually have fire powers. It is rare, but some can summon/control magma/lava.

- Children of Dionysus

: Children of Dionysus can control vines, impose a false state of intoxication and only one could drive mortals insane. He went mad and was eventually killed.

- Children of Demeter

: Children of Demeter can grow plants immensely and or kill them instantly. They’re also.. very tough.. for some reason.

- Children of Achlys

: Children of Achlys and create and control poison. They can drive someone to suicide, and are usually very dangerous. Often banished from Craelune, but were brung back because Cherry thought it was unjust.

- Children of Hestia

: Well, Hestia doesn’t actually have children. She often takes in children and allows them to reside on her floor in the dormitory, which is floor X. Love Hestia!

Any other deities you can imagine; they have a floor! Their children’s powers relate to them in some way. Use your imagination!

Who conducts fighting classes at Craelune and reads out names at dinner? Achilles, of course! James Craelune made a deal with Hades to allow Achilles to work at Craelune for the demigods. Achilles gets his own quarters, office, everything!

Who teaches mental healthcare classes? Patroclus! Patroclus was also through a deal James made, and he gets his own quarters and office as well. He has prevented many suicides.

Who takes technical calls? Daedalus! Daedalus also evaluates your powers if your divine parent does not claim parentage. He’s a very busy man.

— aaaaand thats everything!!! if someone reads all of this, bless your heart. i still have much more to develop like politics, fantasy types of trees and fruits and soils and.. alla that.. vampires, werewolves, mermaids, sirens, the different mythologies in the story, things outside of craelune, the animal-human hybrids, so much… and then i can finally start deciding what i want to happen in the story..

How do you deal with self-harm urges?

(tw talk of different things ive used to self harm)

i still struggle with it a lot of times still, with the urges that is, and every once in awhile i do relapse (sometimes less sometimes really bad), but thankfully ive been able to go months on end without doing it, or i think sometimes like a year and a half or maybe more? i started cutting when i was 12, so frankly im a bit impressed w myself for the times ive been able to stop after so many years. ive found thankfully that the longer you go without, the more the urges to keep doing it go down

and uhhh idk. several things i guess?

sometimes (often if its rly bad) ill scratch myself w my nails (not drawing blood just irritating the skin and it kinda hurts) and sometimes that makes it go away, its enough pain to calm me down without permanent damage. i know ppl say to use icecubes and ive tried a couple of times but it really doesn't work for me - glad it does for others. uhm ill try to go take really hot showers until i calm down, that tends to work. sometimes ill try to just,,,,, this may sound stupid but if something in particular triggers me and i feel the urge, i try to remain either physically paralized or try to distract myself w anything until it passes; harder said than done. listening to loud music in headphones also kinda helps w that sometimes. every once in awhile ill try to do something like tear apart paper or some other thing and sometimes that does something?

and tbh this isnt good but smoking cigarettes makes me do it a bit less. but like Do Not Do This, i actually consider cigarettes to be a MUCH Much worse form of self harm than a lot of cutting. because end of the day if youre careful, cutting leaves you with scars only. cigs can absolutely wreck your health long term and its a horrible addiction. just because its more socially acceptable than cutting doesnt mean its not more dangerous; ive actually had plenty of psychs and therapists agree w me on this one

hmm. ill try to go for a walk, if i can, until the worse of the urge passes. or alternatively i will go and drive around aimlessly listening to music until they pass. sometimes if the urge isnt super super strong, i also find that it helps to draw - ive been using vent art as a way to cope for years, and sometimes drawing cuts or scars on a representation of myself gets that urge a little bit out of me

....... i feel like doing psychadelics really helped me do this less and quit many times - they make you not really wanna hurt yourself and love yourself and take care of yourself better, while also dealing w the underlining issues and mechanisms which lead to the urge in the first place

....i try to keep in mind that it doesnt truly help. its not worth it. maybe it gives some temporary satisfaction or release, but it doesnt Really help. its a vicious cycle you enter in many times, when you start disliking yourself even more for cutting and feel even worse, and then you cut yourself again over that...... i try my best to keep in mind that punishing myself like that doesnt help anything and that i dont deserve it, and i try to keep in mind that taking out my emotional pain or frustration like that on myself doesnt really help either.... long term, it will just make it worse - and is that really what i want?

its good to learn too, how to not put yourself down for cutting once you do it or relapse, bc that just leads to spiraling. it happened, its okay, it is what it is, no need to feel bad over it or start throwing insults at yourself over it...... its hard, but it helps to try to be gentle with yourself

...something else that helps me do it less too at times is that lol, i have chronic pain. i am already in pain all the time - do i really want to add more on top of that? havent i had enough of the pain?........sometimes when ive relapsed its been a way to cope with the pain actually, to have control over when and how i feel pain and to feel a different kind of pain but.... tbh, after doing that enough times i just got fed up with it. pain is pain, and most days of my life i have plenty of it to deal with anyway..... also figured out that if i cut too much, it sets my nervous system on fire and it makes my chronic pain worse, so that's also a reason to not do it

.... i also try to not keep things i can cut with in the house - meaning that if i Really want to, ill have to drive to the store to buy blades, which i think is a good way to give yourself some time to maybe calm down or snap out of it or change your mind. Theres times when the urge is so strong and i just say fuck it and go buy them, but it takes more time and commitment to do that. This helped me bc theres been many times when i would have very likely cut if i had access to them, but bc i didnt and i didnt wanna do it bad enough to warrant a drive, i ended up not doing it....... this also works bc i dont personally cut with knives (even with the sharpest knives ive never been able to do it consistently and properly enough to feel satisfying, and i think my weak muscles and joints make it harder for me in particular, so i cant rly use them), meaning i have to rely on either pencil sharpener blades, or actual razor blades...... sometimes i think its better to buy pencil sharpeners bc, again, they make it harder (you have to take the time to take the pencil sharpener apart and take the blade out, and these blades go dull a lot quicker than razor blades - so the first one gives you more time to think it through and maybe stop and not do it, while the other one means you wont be able to do as much damage for as long of a time bc it will become harder and harder to cut)......... i also used to, when i was younger, cut with shaving razors (like the ones for legs) but this is something i grew out of because i really dont like the stinging and way it cuts the skin,,, so; yea, i think not keeping a supply of cutting things in the house helps a lot of times

..... sometimes its the dissociation that helps me, but thats not really something everyones brain does. but you can try to think of yourself as, lets say, your friend - if your friend felt like how you feel in that moment and wanted to cut, would you want them to? what would you tell them, how would you comfort them, and what would you suggest they do instead?

idk if any of this was helpful at all, sorry, but yea;; i think a combination of all of those things have helped me to quit many times, and... it really does get easier to not do it and to not think abt it as often the longer you go without doing it. also, sometimes it does help to call a hotline! not always, but ive done it a handful of times (mainly for combination of suicide + sh urges), and there were indeed times when i came across v caring and understanding ppl which helped talk me down - so this may be an option to think abt. id also say if you can, calling a friend can be helpful, its something ive done too

and pls, if youre gonna keep cutting dont put yourself down over it, but be careful 🌸 always clean whatever youre using to do it before and afterwards with either soap or alcohol, always check if theres rust on it and never use something that has rust or metal of a weird colour, and after you wash them, make sure they are dry and store them in a place which is dry. or better - throw them out. always clean your wounds afterwards with warm water, and when youre able to handle it later with soap and water so they dont get infected. and its best to cover up deeper cuts so they can heal better with bandaids or medical gauze. and please please dont cut in areas where there are a lot of important and sensitive veins and tendos (like the inner wrist) - even if youre being careful, you dont want to take the risk of damaging something important like that. and please, if it ever gets rly out of hand and its not closing up, its too deep, or it gets infected, go to a doctor or a medical facility near you

.... and.. try to be gentle with yourself 💗 its really hard but its important. and if youre trying to quit, ask why it is you cut in the first place (bc pain calms you down, control, masochism, a way to get out overwhelming emotions, comfort, a cry for help or attention, self punishment etc etc), and try to find a way to work on whats driving the cutting in the first place, or to find a less harmful way to achieve a similar goal - i think thats something that helped me long term

take care of yourself and be careful 🌺 and if its something u struggle w youself, know that it is possible to stop and that it does get easier

Don’t get me wrong, I love the ship and its one of my favorite to think about.... but most of the fanfiction for the ship just- doesn’t sit right with me for a number of reasons.

As these are personal opinions, I acknowledge here and now that a number of people disagree and that they are under no obligation to change their opinions in any way as it is not and never will be my intention to tell others what they should be thinking That said- read at your own risk if you want- meh, anyway-

time to share some opinions that have been on my mind lately

The biggest reason.... is how they handle Xiao. And I don’t even mean mischaracterization because Xiao is such a complex and yet simultaneously simple character that as long as you’re somewhere in the range of “Xiao vibes” it’s really hard to write him out of character because of his complexities. What I mean is something that i actually completely agree with as being accurate to his character. In nearly every single fanfic I’ve seen, there is some element of idolization that Xiao has for Venti, or for the sake of reference, Barbatos. He tends to think himself beneath Barbatos and/or indebted to him, whether that be because he’s an archon, because he saved him, or simply because of Xiao’s tendency to dehumanize(yes i see the irony in that word usage) himself.  This by itself isn’t an issue but its often how this trait of his is treated.

Imma just list a few ways I’ve seen this be handled within Xiaoven fics. - It isn’t handled, it’s just there and accepted as a part of who he is in the story - It isn’t handled but his trait is treated as source of humor within the story - Venti(and others) roll with it (finding humor in it, just cant change it, encouraging it, making jokes about it, etc.) - Venti takes advantage of it(whether accidentally or purposely) - it’s actually addressed(by Venti or someone else or the narration- can go a number of ways, but just- even a brief reference to the fact that its not a good mindset fits in here) - savior!Venti(Where venti disagrees with it but the way it’s written gives off “god among mortals” vibes- like he’s just being humble and truly is above him in reality) - its the focus of the story  - not directly addressed but shown to be destructive.  - they chose not to not include this in the story’s characterization of Xiao(just saying that this is valid ahead of time) Theres others but i have a lot already.  Note that I tend to read more ‘serious-toned’(idk if that makes sense) fics so that may skew my perception

Now there’s a few that i have issues with on their own- both instances of it not being handled, Venti(and others) rolling with it, Venti takes advantage of it(purposely(and without good intent)), and savior!Venti. Xiao not only has this trait, but he is unfamiliar with what is normal in relationships or emotions as a result of isolation and inexperience. He is also either not aware of or not concerned with what is considered strictly “healthy.” Combining these makes for a rather dangerous combination and just accepting it as “oh he’s just like that, it’s who he is” or making it out to be something funny- It’s not wrong or bad by any means necessarily, and I could still possibly enjoy it to an extent depending on a series of different factors, but its- not as often.  Even in the case where I do enjoy reading it however, I would still feel uncomfortable sharing it with or recommending it to others because in the first instance it feels like normalizing a destructive and dangerous mindset, and in the second case it does the same while simultaneously making a joke of it. It’s the same deal with Venti or other characters rolling with it, but that’s probably gonna be mentioned later too. Not to say that this is a “wrong” way to handle it, that it makes the fic bad, or that authors even are normalizing anything by doing so, just that in my specific instance- not a fan. 

I’ll get to the others when i talk more about Venti, but for now: It’s the focus of the story. I think I saw like... 2? where the story was like- focused on this and why its a problem which- power to them, address those real world problems like a boss- but also i wouldn’t actively seek it out or anything- like, good job, but doing so just leaves it open neutrally for other factors to decide how good a story i think it is.

You’d think i wouldn’t like this- but frankly in fanfiction not everyone wants to address every character flaw verbally because it can through off story, narration, dialogue, and general flow to do so. This can be with an event, an action, a dialogue, a mere comment, making it actually fit into the it’s actually addressed category except that its- subtle enough to make its own category. plus i live for show not tell- in everything- its a thing. im- very much a fan of when the fics do this but the subtlety is easy to miss and its not common so- 

It’s actually adressed- doesnt have to be a lot- just mention anywhere or imply anywhere that maybe idolizing someone as a god and savior and being in a relationship with them while having little knowledge of standards, emotions, relationships, or healthy behaviors in general- maybe isnt the smartest idea in the word. (”Call me Venti, not Barbatos” by itself is not enough to fit in this category tho as a note)

Now lets talk about Venti...

uh.... those who have followed me for awhile will probably already know this but... I have a lot of opinions on Venti and a pretty- “niche(?)” perception of his characterization that isn’t shared by a lot of others- so I don’t actually read as much Venti fanfic in general as you might expect because I often end up disagreeing with how writers portray him, which again, in no way is their characterization wrong, but- “their perceived truth” conflicts with “my perceived truth” and by extent so does the characterization, though neither is any more correct than the other from an objective point of view, if that makes sense... but anyways now that that’s said, moving on before this becomes a philosophy lecture, as fun as that would be for me.  I’ll try to keep my “perceived truth” out of this for the first bit. 

Venti’s response to this: 

He rolls with it: this depends on the mood of the fanfiction. If they dont put a lot of stress on that trait of Xiao’s it totally fine but if the trait seems to be a major part of Xiao’s character, it seems like normalization once more. (more on this later)

he takes advantage of it purposely: if its an AU or something and Venti’s like a villain(i saw a few) then- villain venti isnt my cup of tea but i have no qualms. If they don’t portray Venti in a negative light while having him take advantage however that’s a bit uncomfortable to read for me because it feels like normalizing taking advantage of that mindset as well as the mindset itself. However, i did see a number of instances of Venti using it as leverage for like- self care- which i definitely have no qualms. Xiao: [insert probably destructive idolizing statement about being indebt] Venti: How bout you pay me back by actually sleeping for once smh or other variations are okay and depending on the vibe are actually a really fun dynamic as long as it doesnt turn into romanticizing or normalizing it, y’know?

Venti accidentally taking advantage of it.... I love angst- and in most of these theres a sense of guilt when he realizes- and i just think thats a lovely way of addressing the dangers of such a mindset for both sides. As long as it doesn’t keep repeating to the point of romanticization its totally cool to read in my eyes(not irl ofc). If Venti never realizes he accidentally took or is taking advantage it feels a bit like normalization, and if he does but just- doesn’t care thats- a rip.

savior!Venti...... i- i hate. the story giving off vibes that Xiao’s mindset is technically correct while Venti oh so humbly tells him to treat him as an equal like the wonderful and charitable person he is.... i just- no. of course thats over dramatizing it- I think the main thing that gives it this vibe is when Venti doesn’t seem either concerned, surprised, uncomfortable, or otherwise have a negative feeling towards Xiao’s mindset. Just- it makes the whole thing weird in my eyes when Venti doesnt really seem to have his own reason to oppose the mindset idk-

Venti is the god of freedom. His backstory is freeing Mondstadt from a god’s tyrannical reign. His origin is a windsprite, just another breeze bringing changes for the better. His form is a nameless boy who played an instrument and then died, thus failing at his only dream and only ever accomplishing anything because of the help of others. He slept for a thousand years after the archon war to avoid putting Mond under the rule of yet another tyrannical god. He only even became a god because Andrius chose to let him. He wouldn’t have even had that chance if the nameless bard had survived, he’d remain just another wind while his friend ascended to godhood. Venti sacrifices his own power for his people’s freedom. 

now that I’ve laid out a number of canon facts, time for opinions:

Venti has little to no desire to be seen as a god. He thrives in, comes from, and emphasizes a lack of superiority in quite nearly everything. The first Ragnvindir, who canonically turned his back on Venti after Decarabian’s fall, likely did so because one- he anticipated power would corrupt and Venti would soon become just another tyrannical god, two- he suspected Venti used the nameless bard in an attempt to rise to godhood, or three- idk insert other possibilities to acknowledge again that i could totally be wrong.

Look me in the eyes and tell me Venti wouldnt trade godhood for his friend in an instant. His godhood was only granted to him because his friend died and could easily serve to constantly remind him of what could have been and what he lost. Venti takes no enjoyment from being seen as superior and in my opinion, I feel that it could actually make him largely uncomfortable when his divinity and abilities as an archon get involved-

so anyway Venti rolling with it or making jokes about it just doesn’t sit right with me.-

idk- i have... a few/lot of other gripes and stuff or just things that kinda throw off the vibe for me but that’s the main one plus my general personal pickiness when it come to Venti fanfics- but this has gotten long enough already- 

idk i just felt like rambling about it and i haven’t done a long post in a while so-

again, I love the ship and its actually one of my favorites- just the fanfic isnt my thing..... that doesn’t mean i don’t still love it and come up with a whole ton of brainrot and ideas on it tho lmao

Ive been really really working on my ocs for skyrim and their families/partners/kids and thier jobs and stories all day today and sparsely over the past 4 months. Just today i finally started to get their appearances down and i was super excited to show my gf. She however just kind of.... Played it off and said shes tired and won't remember the names even if i re-explained the main story( which would of only tooken like 5 maybe 10 minutes at most, i have an ocs backstory for a different fandom that litterally took 2 hours to explain. 5-10 mins for 3 ocs is nothing in comparison to my usual detail and nuance.) I know she worked her usual 7 hours today and im thankful she dose to help keep us afloat because thats very important and some skyrim ocs story isnt important but.... Idk.... Hearing her basically turn down a small hyperfixation rant just to turn away from me and play games on her phone without even so much as a " sorry".... That just really really really hurt..... Like a lot more than i can voice. ( i cant help but wonder if this is some kind of revenge cause i worked on an encanto animation yesterday and didnt give her as much attention as usual...)

I know she dosent hate me and she has every right to be tired and put her spoons first but idk... She's never completely dismissed my interests like this and i feel like ive been stabbed in the chest.... Showing my art and my stories is something really personal, exciting and inspiring for me and she knows that. I really love watching people get fascinated in my work and the detail so for her, one of the last(if not, thee last) people i really rely on for that confidence boost to just.... Dismiss me... It really really hurts. I waited all day to show her it and she just dose not seem to care.

Im sorry to throw this at you, i know its kinda insignificant in the grand scheme of things but i just needed to let it out to someone cause my only other friends might tell her about how this hurt me and then it'll just be this whole thing I'd rathur just... Not.

Its nothing to break up over but it still hurt. Im gonna go cry for alittle bit... Thank you for reading this. I know skyrim isnt one of your interests( that and itll be awhile before i feel like sharing my stuff again because of this.)but it helps me alittle to reach out. Rejection sensitivity be damned. okay gosh i totally get how you feel!!! not to make this about me but i do relate, many times my parents have completely dismissed my hyperfixations and it's made me feel so insecure for having said hyperfixations. they're really important and rsd really sucks when it comes to not having your hyperfixations listened to or cared about.

so like, yeah. your gf had worked a lot that day. but clearly, she had the energy to turn around and play video games, so even if she didn't have social energy right then and there, it still would've been better if she'd simply told you that she wasn't up for socializing at the moment but that she did care and want to listen. and if she just didn't care, then that's on her. yes, she's not wrong for putting her spoons first but that doesn't mean you're wrong for being hurt by how she reacted.

As always, I've been enjoying your fluffy snippets, but if you're up for some angst...

Ruby is a newly graduated Huntress following up on a child trafficking ring in Mistral m, which ends up taking her to Atlas. There she stays at 'The Glass Unicorn' and meets a maid called 'Cinder'. A woman who has long given up on her freedom and what it means to be a Huntress...

Otherwise, if you're still enjoying the fluffy side of things, some fluffy BeesSchnees is always good XD

Ruby sighed as she looked between a paper in her hand and to the hotel standing in front of her. For a moment, she was a bit confused on what The Glass Unicorn had to do with any sort of child trafficking ring. However, the name of the woman who owned this place came up more than once on the ledgers of that old barn. And if she wanted answers, she was going to need to start her.

Rain started to pour from the sky as Ruby walked into the hotel, pausing for a moment as she felt out of place. Sure, there were hunters and huntresses from all over, but even for Atlas standards, this place was higher end. Everywhere she looked, all she saw was an excuse for wealth to be displayed. Once she regained her composure, she walked up to the front desk. “I need a room.”

The blonde woman looked Ruby over for a moment before noticing it was a huntress in front of her. With a few quick clicks on her keyboard, a card popped out of her computer. “Room 402. Meals will be brought straight to your room. And dont bother talking to the staff.”

Ruby looked at her curiously as she took the card. “Why not?”

The woman looked directly into Ruby’s eyes. “Its not their job to talk to anyone.”

Ruby sighed and put the card in her pocket, turning to start heading up the stairs. She looked around as she walked, all the patrons seeming to enjoy everything the hotel offered. It all reminded her of why she was doing this: to try to make the world a better place. And right now, Atlas was not that better place.

Ruby watched a few of the staff bring out meals to the patrons, along with anything else they needed or cleaned up any messes that were made. The longer she watched, the less convinced she became that this hotel was going to be the link to this ring. Everything she found always became a dead end and this last lead of hers seemed to be no different.

“What do you think you’re doing?!”

Ruby looked up at the third floor, watching one of the patrons yelling at one of the maids. She tried to get a better look, making her way to the stairs on the opposite side as she watched the maid drop to the ground to pick up the food that fell on the ground.

“I’m sorry, I didnt mean to-”

“Didnt mean to what? Give lousy service?” The patron spat at the maid, pushing past her and knocking her over. “Lousy maid bringing over half cooked food…”

Ruby watched the maid move her hair out of her face as she started to scrub, hearing a small sigh escape from the girl. She felt sorry for the girl, walking over to her. “Ah… miss… I was hoping I could ask you something.”

The maid didnt look up, seemingly avoiding eye contact with Ruby. “I-I’ll make sure your room is cleaned once I’m finished here.”

Ruby knelt down and picked up some of the fruit that had spilled. “That’s not what I was going to ask about. I was hoping you might be able to answer a few questions I have about this place.”

The maid stopped and slowly looked up at Ruby with tired eyes. “Y-you’re a huntress…”

“I am. What is your name?”

“Cinder.”

Ruby smiled and extended a hand to Cinder. “It’s nice to meet you.”

Cinder smiled for a moment, then it quickly disappeared as she quickly started to work again, keeping her head low. “I’m… I’m not allowed to talk to you. Please, go to your room and I’ll bring you your meal.”

Ruby was about to speak until she heard a voice coming from behind her.

“Cinder, you’re needed in the kitchen.”

Ruby watched as Cinder stood up and started hurrying off past her, making her way downstairs. “Do your staff always get treated like this?”

The woman from the front desk stood behind Ruby, shaking her head. “Only that one. She’s a bit of a… problem. The only reason I dont fire her is because she’s one of my daughters. She knows she’s only to be seen, not heard. I’ll make sure she wont bother you again.”

Ruby watched the woman turn around and head back downstairs towards the kitchen after Cinder. At this rate, even if this ended up as a dead end with the trafficking ring, then maybe there was something else that she could fix.

Cinder winced a bit as she brought a tray to room 402, doing her best to keep from moving the collar that was around her neck. Everytime she messed up, all she could feel was that familiar sting. And every time, it hurt. She adjusted a small cloth she had around her neck, hiding the scars from the collar. She quietly knocked on the door, praying that whoever was in this room wasnt going to treat her like the rest of the patrons did.

Ruby slowly opened the door and smiled a bit at Cinder. “I was wondering when you’d come around.”

Cinder looked away a bit, holding out a tray to Ruby and staying quiet. The pain from her last punishment still lingered around, and she was terrified to be caught talking to anyone now.

Ruby noticed and sighed, taking the tray. “If you’re not going to talk right now, then maybe you can help me out with a few things in my room. There’s a few spots that could use a bit of cleaning.”

Cinder nodded and slowly walked into the room, pausing once she saw Ruby’s weapon laying down on a table. It wasnt the first time she had seen a hunter’s weapon within easy grabbing, and wasnt the first time she had the desire to reach out for it.

Ruby noticed and walked over, picking up her weapon and smiling a bit. “Like weapons too? You can hold her if you’d like.”

Cinder hesitated for a moment, wanting to reach towards the weapon. She stopped half way and sighed and she pulled her hand back. “I… cant.”

“Why not?”

Cinder didnt answer, looking away from Ruby. She didnt know how to tell a huntress that she had to get away from her family. That she’d do anything if it meant not being with them anymore.

Ruby sighed and sat Crescent Rose down. “You… wanted to be a huntress at one point, didnt you?”

Cinder froze on the spot. The thought had occurred to her, and there was that one huntsman, Rhodes, who taught her a few things, but he disappeared when she was younger. “Y-yes… but its… more than that…”

“I’m not sure I understand.”

Cinder looked around nervously before pulling down the cloth around her neck and pulling up the sleeves of her outfit. Scars lined her wrists while one scar circled her neck exactly where her necklace, the collar she wore, sat.

Ruby frowned when she saw the scars on Cinder, picking up her weapon and heading out of the room. “Stay here.”

Cinder nodded and sat down, terrified about what was going to happen. She had spent years trying to figure out how to get away from the madam, but all of her attempts at obtaining a weapon to get away had failed. And now, an actual huntress had seen the marks that had been left, the reminders of each of her failures on running away, each mistake she had made while working.

It wasnt long before Cinder heard muffled shouts from outside the room, her sisters and the madam clearly angry at Ruby. She cowered a bit, thinking she knew exactly what to expect: Ruby was going to let the madam in just like everyone else. She’d believe the lies that were told, that she was a troubled child that was taken in by the gratitude of the madam’s heart, that she was a thief and a liar that everyone had to keep an eye on. Even after the shouts died down, she still waited, flinching as she watched the door open.

Ruby rushed into the room, blood dripping from her scythe as she grabbed her things. “Cinder, you’re coming with me.”

Cinder felt a bit confused, hesitating for a moment. “You… want me to come with you?”

“Well, currently you’re unemployed and have nowhere to go. You can either stay here in Atlas, maybe find your way down to Mantle and find a job, or you can come with me and I can help you become a huntress. I can at least teach you how to defend yourself and others from the grimm, maybe even help you take the exam for your hunter’s license. Give you a new start.”

Cinder was still a bit confused, but followed after Ruby, pausing as she saw the madam laying on the ground in a pool of her own blood. “You killed her…”

Ruby sighed as she kept walking. “She attacked me first. I thought all of this was going to be a dead end, but it seems like I ended up on the right track after all. I know you were bought through a child trafficking ring, and I know you’re not the only one she had purchased. If you can help me get a bit more proof, I think I can put an end to this. I know its a bit late and there isnt much I can do about what had happened to you, but I can at least help you with your new freedom now.”

Cinder sped up to catch up to Ruby, sticking close to her. “But why help me? I’m… I’m just a nobody. A kid that was sold into this life. I dont deserve any kindness.”

“Because if I cant help someone, then what’s the point of being a huntress?” Ruby stopped for a moment, pulling out her scroll and holding it up to Cinder to take a picture. “And besides, the world is already cruel enough. I think its time we try to make it a better place.”

i was sucked into radfem stuff before and i left it a few months ago. i dont remember what exactly drawn me into it but my issue with black and white/all-or-nothing thinking has much to do with it.

radfems definitely take advantage of people like me. since i've been away from that for awhile ive realized how much i was lied to. instead of helping me they've made my b&w thinking much much worse so that i stick to their hate group. if there was a criticism of radical feminism its because the critic hated women.

this "not all men" attitude, while is harmful when its used to silence feminist discussion, is true to an extent. radfems told me i was hated by all men from the inside out and by living my life ive learned it isnt true. for example i wore shorts to school for the first time in awhile and not once has a male peer made a comment on my body hair, it was only females that shamed me ... very ironic. i also have found that a lot of the males i knew agreed that the porn industry has a habit of degrading women...the funny part is i live in a small republican neighborhood. not to say that republicans dont have problematic political views but just in case they wanted to accuse me of being a privileged asshole in california or something lol.

this "men arent oppressed for being men" attitude isnt helpful either. its complicated. the fact that black men are overrepresented in police brutality cases has everything to do with them being male. cops wont feel bad about using unnecessary force when dealing with a black man because males in general are expected to "tough it out" when in pain.

completely ignoring this kind of thing is what made black women make their own kind of feminism because radfems, majority of whom are/were white and middle class dont even argue with me on that, are very insensitive to racial issues. the west largely moved on from radical feminism for a reason... we understand intersectionalism is a thing that exists now.

it surprises me that so-called progressives are leaning into radical feminism even though its explained time and time again how problematic it was. but it doesnt surprise me at the same time because... well i was one! lol

Black and white thinking is definitely the biggest issue I find when interacting with terfs. It's one of the reasons why they hate queer theory so fucking much. The main aspect of it is to question social boundaries and to challenge black and white thinking, so they think of it as pointless or even harmful.

Their black and white thinking is also the same reason why I hate when they call themselves critical thinkers. They might as well be the opposite for being so unwilling to bend on anything.

I generally think the movement runs on fear but also makes people feel like they're a part of something important and revolutionary. They feel like they're fighting back against a huge unquestionable menace that has everyone by the throat. Their way of thinking can be digestible at first too and make sense without knowing the bigger picture.

I’d disagree with the anon that Paul was “incapable” of love, but I do agree he was very distanced, and pretty cruel (to women) when he was younger. (It was unfortunate they bought into the love at first sight myth, but he was also a charmer, and dropped affection and got colder after fucking them.)

But I just can’t see romantic interest on Paul’s end. I’m sure he loved John, but a lot of the “sexual/Romantic evidence” really can just be as construed as platonic love. I feel there may be some confirmation bias looking for “clues”. (Not an attack on anyone, but some of the analysises seem to try too hard, really).

He does make references, with the whole “calling him babe during concerts”, and “in bed” but that could just mean he’s not uncomfortable with coming off “gay”. He has a quote about it somewhere I think. He’s supportive of the community at any rate.

This is kind of my own bias, but at times I think he…plays it up a little during the present day? Again, I’m positive he did love John a lot, but with how he is, a charmer, good at manipulating his image, he knows there is a benefit to building up the “magical” Lennon McCartney dynamic. John’s dead, and the old conflicts have faded, so he has no reason not to. I don’t think he’s anti-social, or a psycho or anything, but he certainly does put a lot of thought into his image, especially now, with how he wants to leave his legacy.

I’m less knowledgeable about John, and the speculation about his mental illnesses, but on his end, I can certainly see it. Maybe he’s just blind, but the looks are very much…yeah. He does seem to rely Paul a lot, and hold him in very high regard (REGARDLESS of what those old male biographers might make of him). You just know he was suffering over Paul, poor bastard.

Not sure if anything happened. I think Paul knew though, and either ignored it, or was kind, knowing John wouldn’t act on it. OR he didn’t notice! With the whole “we shared beds A LOT. you would think he’d make a pass at me, darling~”

I guess that’s how I see it. I don’t really have strong feelings on the nature of their relationship, or want them to be “confirmed”, so I try to be as objective as possible! Not a shipper, but not a male biographer. In fact, I was very put off learning the ship was a thing at first! With every fan base “having to” ship the main male leads, that’s what I thought this was. But after three years, reading actual books, primary stuff, I’ve began to change my mind on its legitimacy, and this was my conclusion. But new information can always change!

Yeah, this is basically my big mclennon dilemma: did Paul love John?

Of course he loved him, but I mean did he harbour any homosexual feelings towards John - and I just go back and fourth on that a lot.

In my last response to an anon I wasn’t necessarily trying to argue that Paul was romantically/sexually attached to John, because all in all, I don’t believe he did - but it probably came off that way because I didn’t particularly like the way the anon had phrased some stuff (like calling him “a master manipulator” and “incapable of love”) and so I just sort of wanted to show that the relationship was more nuanced then just “john was simping for paul”. My overall point with that response was more so that whilst I think Paul struggles in showing real affection and emotions, I don’t think he was incapable of love prior to Linda. I think he did really love John (in whichever form of love you want to take it: romantically, platonically etc.)

And so my point I guess wasnt so much that Paul was always capable of love (because I think he did at least love his family, his close-friends, probably Jane etc.), but maybe more so that he was always capable of intimacy with another person, though he struggled with it.

But yeah, he was quite cruel to a lot of the girls he slept with in the 60s, but I wouldn’t say that suggests he was incapable of love (i know thats not what you’re saying but other people might interpret it through that lens) I would just say he was young, dumb, ridiculously rich and famous and not emotionally mature enough yet to really empathise with most of those girls. Not trying to completely excuse him, but like, i dunno, i always just try to view people from the most human perspective. Everyones an twat sometimes yknow

I also really struggle to see romance on Pauls behalf towards John - the only times I think “wait but maybe he did fancy john back” is when I read some of his lyrics (like in ‘Coming Up’, ‘Yvonne’s The One’, and to some extent ‘Here Today’ - though I think interpreting Here Today as strictly platonic love is still a valid interpretation). I mentioned this in a different post though, that analysing his lyrics just isnt particularly convincing for me, because it feels more like speculation - and also as someone who does write songs, I know that a lot of lyrics just arent as deep as we wish they were. It is really difficult to be truly introspective and honest in a song, without exaggerating or hyperbolising or fictionalising any autobiographical aspects.

I do see your point with Paul possibly playing up the “Lennon/McCartney m a g i c” - im not entirely sure how much I agree, but I do agree to some extent. I think he’s always been very image conscious, and being in what is probably the all-time most famous pop band definitely wouldve heightened that. Even as a teenager I think he’s always just had this natural charm about him, and that tends to stem I guess from a need to be liked; I think you can see it in every interview he’s ever done to be honest. Its not necessarily a bad thing, (because id take a charmer over a rude knobhead any day) but I guess it sort of just shows that Paul is flawed like everybody else. Also, just read @mothernatures-sons tags and I agree with her - Paul just knows when to be a nice person! Nothing wrong with that! It isnt manipulative like the last anon suggested, its just how most people are: polite :) Ive heard a lot of anecdotes from people who have worked with or met Paul and the majority of them say he was a just a nice guy. Not saying he was never an arsehole (cause yeah he was pretty cruel to those girls in the 60s) but I think overall, hes a pretty good guy 👍

On the other hand though, you could also say that superficial journalists are looking for superficial answers - and Paul knows what the people want to hear. But occasionally ill hear an interview that does seem more intimate then most - I havent listened to it in awhile, but the interview he did with Sean I remember felt more honest to me then most. And when he said he’d like to spend the day “in bed” with John, to me that felt like a genuine and fitting response. Because, whilst it has sexual connotations, it also just feels like he’s saying he’d just like to sit around, chat, dont chat, just whatever with John for a day. Like he would just like another moment of intimacy with him.

I think we are pretty much in agreement on most of this though! At first I was also like “nah, mclennon isnt real, teenage girls just love shipping guys!” (I am a teenaged girl and I can confirm this lol) but then it just sort of became apparent to me through reading more and more about their relationship that there probably was something more on Johns behalf. If John wasnt in love with Paul, then it feels as though a lot of things he said and did just dont add up (the big one for me is him marrying Yoko so soon after Paul married Linda - like I really cannot come up with a heterosexual explanation for that!)

But when it comes to Paul, though ill have moments of doubt, I dont think he was in love with John (homosexually) and I do think a lot of the evidence on Pauls behalf seems like a stretch (but like you, im not having a go at anyone, because I understand that it is easy to carried away, plus its fun - but realistically, most of Pauls evidence just is not convincing to me). He’s comfortable with his sexuality, and I really do try to respect that and not force a gay interpretation of quotes or songs from him, unless it is genuinely making me question his sexuality and mclennon.
