Pairing: Douglas Booth!Nikki Sixx x Female Reader

Author’s Note: Takes place before the events of “You and I.” I was driving through Hollywood and saw a cute couple that reminded me of these two. So thank you, random strangers.

Nikki exhaled as he closed the door behind him. He was relieved to be home after a somewhat mediocre gig.

London was slowly but surely losing its edge. He could feel it and mentally, he was preparing himself for the eventual breakup.

He made his way into the bedroom, setting down his bass. His head turned to see Y/N curled up in bed, hugging his pillow. He smiled, throwing off his shirt.

He knew she felt bad that she couldn’t make it to the show. She worked a double at the diner for the second time that week, exhausting her. He told her there would be other shows. He wasn’t so sure now, but either way her rest was more important.

His pants hit the floor and he kicked it away. He lifted the blanket and crawled under the covers. He threw an arm around her waist, moving his body closer to hers.

Just as he was about to close his eyes, he heard whimpering.

Her whimpering.

He opened his eyes, hoping she was having a sexual dream. But then he noticed the scrunching in her face and realized he needed to step in. He leaned up and gently shook her.

“Babe, babe, babe,” he coaxed her.

Her eyes shot open as she let out a sharp gasp. Her hand was on her chest and he moved closer to her, putting his hand on hers.

“Hey, it’s ok,” he soothed her. “Babe, look at me,”

She turned her head to him as he pulled her into his arms.

“You’re ok,” he assured her, kissing her forehead. “You’re safe.”

She let out a final sigh. “Fuck.”

“Bad dream?”

“That’s putting it lightly. One of the scariest dreams I’ve had in a long time.”

She leaned back onto the pillow, the palm of her hand rubbing her eyes as if that would take away the memories of her dream.

“I’m sorry, sweetheart,” he murmured, his fingers carding through her hair. “It’s over and you’re safe. I promise.”

She looked over at him, flashing a small but grateful smile. She moved her body to him, snuggling her face into his chest and letting the smell of sweat, cigarettes, and Jack Daniel’s soothe her.

He smirked. “I can think of one way to get your mind off it.”

He leaned his head down to see her smirking back at him. “Nice try, Sixx.”

He chuckled as he kissed the top of her head again. “Worth trying.”

She hummed in agreement. If she had woken up on her own without a nightmare, maybe.

“How was your gig?” she asked.

“Eh, it was a gig,” he replied with a shrug. “We were good. The band before us fucking sucked though. They were a bunch of KISS wannabes which made it worse.”

“You don’t like KISS?”

“I thought they were cool when I was a kid, but they didn’t stick with me like other bands did.” He glanced down at her. “What about you?”

“I had a big KISS phase.”

He paused. “That…somehow does not surprise me. Did Gene Simmons’ tongue do it for you?”

“No, but Paul Stanley did.”

He furrowed his eyebrows. “Really?”

She looked up at him. “You judging me, Sixx?”

“A little, yeah,” he snorted. “I wouldn’t have taken you to as a lead singer kind of girl.”

“I’m not,” she insisted. “I actually find other musicians who play other instruments in other bands attractive.”

A pang of jealousy hit Nikki, but he wasn’t going to show it. Instead, he smirked. “Oh yeah? Name ‘em.”

She propped up on her elbow, her eyes meeting his. “Eddie Van Halen, guitarist. You should know that considering I told you that I lost my virginity to a Van Halen song.”

Nikki made a face. “Yeah, I sorta pushed that out of my mind because I don’t like hearing there were others before me.”

“There was only one, Mr. Possessive,” she reminded him, poking his nose.

“Yeah, yeah. Ok, Van Halen is fine. Who else is there? You’re forgetting a big one.”

“I am?” she questioned. Then she snapped her fingers. “Oh yeah!”

“Yeah,” he nodded.

“Drummer!”

Nikki’s face fell. “That’s not-.”

“Roger Taylor from Queen.”

He sighed, shaking his head. “So those are your choices? Paul Stanley, Eddie Van Halen, and Roger Taylor? You sure you’re not missing any other key band members you find attractive?”

She thought for a moment. “Ok so there is a bassist.”

“But it’s not Gene Simmons.”

“It’s not Gene Simmons.”

“Ok,” he nodded. “Tell me more.”

She rest her chin on his chest, sighing dramatically. “I don’t know if you know him.”

He knew damn well where this going, but he was down to play her game. “I might.”

“He plays for this band London.”

He chuckled. “London…yeah, I’ve heard of ‘em.”

“So he’s super sexy.”

“Super sexy? Sexier than the men on your list?”

“Definitely.”

“Ooh. Ok, go on.”

“He plays like a god. Like his talent is incredible.” She snuggled close. “He has impeccable stage presence.”

“Impeccable?! That’s some high praise, princess. What else?”

“He’s got black hair. Gorgeous eyes.”

He hummed. “Gorgeous you say?”

She nodded. “He’s also really good at comforting a girl after a nightmare.”

His jaw dropped, slapping his hand on his chest. “It’s me?”

“Surprise!” she giggled.

He leaned his head back. “Wow! I don’t know what to say. I didn’t see it coming.”

She laughed, burying her face in his chest.

“Hey Y/N?”

“Yeah?”

“Out of all those crushes, which one do you like the most?”

She snorted and lifted her head up. “Who do you think?”

He shrugged. “You tell me.”

“Do you need me to stroke your ego some more?”

“So it is me?!”

She rolled her eyes as he threw his head back laughing. “You’re lucky I think you’re cute.”

“Obviously you do since you have a crush on me,” he reminded her. “So embarrassing.”

She pulled her lips back. “We live together, dumbass.”

He kissed her nose. “For what it’s worth, I have a crush on you too.”

She hummed. “And how many other crushes do you have?”

“Just one. You. You’re it for me.”

“Until you become a big rockstar and then have groupies.”

“Nope. I’m always gonna have a crush on you.”

She snorted. “Yeah, ok then.”

His smile quickly fell flat as his dark eyes softened. “Hey, I’m serious. I don’t want anyone else. Just you.”

The sincerity in his tone lifted warmed Y/N’s heart. She always knew he was serious about her, but every now and again, she needed a reminder that he loved her even if he couldn’t outright say it.

It was an issue she knew she would have to work on.

“And Y/N? I’m never going to let anything happen to you. I promise you’re safe with me.”

She pecked his lips before snuggling back into his chest. “I know. And I know you know you’re safe with me.”

His hand rubbed her back soothingly. “I know.”

fucking SUCKS. it can only work if you're self aware about how absolutely awful and hurtful liam is,and i feel from what ive seen that the fandom just reduces them to 'omg doomed yaoi' and like, woobifies them. This ship only and only works as one sided,forced and extremely toxic (in my eyes). Bryce deserves better than Liam, and liam relentlessly hurts Bryce down to the very goddamn end (← i say this as someone who is currently fuckin obsessed with liam and self recognizes in him 😐)

Liam/Amelia

I like this one. I feel like theyre pretty good for each other, although, it's sort of a doomed one,in the sense of how it would work only if they were to be in the plane forever. I do feel like Amelia sort of lost herself in the plane forever. If those two ever got out, he'd have to take some charge on their shared recovery and Liam is NOT gonna deal with that well. Still a cute ship,and I like it.

Amelia/Charlotte

...why? this feels like pairing the leftover main characters because everyone is focused on the Boys TM. they dont really have any chemistry,like,even theorically i feel like they wouldn't mesh well,unless you wanna make Amelia basically Charlotte's therapist. But yay, women! i can't be mad about this one,really. I don't mind it

Liam/Airy

Lairy is...complicated, emotionally. I can see it actually being a thing,but it's really in a fucked up way. definitely a 'i hope we both die' kind of pairing. I think about it and it gives me heartache that i cant explain. it hurts because they both are awful in different ways but also they are trying. I will say i do enjoy it but in a way that makes me hurt. lots of angst there. I think this one especially benefits from becoming a ship that happens after moldpack being A thing

Liam/Charlotte

Okay this one is not popular,in fact i feel like nobody but me is into it but theres so much potential here. especially the way they would be so horribly,terrifyingly bad to each other. I can imagine Charlotte getting out instead of Bryce,and how different it all would be. her prideful nature and liam's manipulative tendencies are so deliciously wrong. I feel they would bring the worst out of each other. I have a lot to say about them but like. Consider those first 5 months. Liam was as isolated as Charlotte was,he only sorta rejoined the others in the last two months stretch, and I think they might've interacted during that. And just, Charlotte WOULD be interested in solving the mystery,she would jump on that chance because she needs control and Liam would be elated at first and horrified later and AGH it would be so messy and interesting. please ask me more about moldpack. im the charlotte/liam person number 1 fan now.

Oscar/Bryce - can see it,and i feel like it makes sense within Bryce's trauma streak. I can imagine them bonding and it getting a bit too close

Bryce/Stella - I wish this had more exploration,object shipcest is so insanely rare. I like it

Taylor/Amelia - kinda cute,can see it if taylor stayed in the plane. Especially if it starts as a sort of one sided crush that goes too far

Liam/Owen - this is cute,can kinda see it but only in a no-show scenario (as in, ONE never happened and this is a coworker romance thing)

Charlotte/Parker - it upsets me,but i can see them as having hooked up once and Parker catching feelings while Charlotte is super uncomfortable about it and that explains that weird tension.

And if it's something bigger, they might lose it and you'd have to physically stop them. You don't want that. Biting off a piece of skin in bed is one thing, eating half of your thigh is something else.

If you reject that offer, they'll just sorta awkwardly shrug and inform you that you're fine in their eyes.

Of course, they're joking. They suck at comforting people.

You're free to take out your frustrations on them, though!

Or just cuddle it out while they lazily keep an arm around you.

They're not very good at actually solving the issue, but they're always in your corner.

They're much better at handling anyone who fuels your insecurities, though.

He smacks you upside the head if you ever spout such nonsense.

He will actually berate you for thinking so lowly of yourself.

DD is not good at all this, he's not a therapist and he's got a plethora of his own issues, but he's supportive in his own (mean and violent) way.

And that is by bullying you for being stupid because he doesn't see anything wrong with you.

Somehow, you end up getting not only bullied out of your insecurities, but you actually end up pavloved into dumping your insecurities as soon as they happen just to avoid him bullying you again.

No. Nuh-uh. Absolutely not.

He's heartbroken at the very idea of his most wonderful, incredible darling not seeing just how wonderful and incredible they are!

He's not letting go. This man is a fucking koala, he's gonna be clinging to you for hours.

You're absolutely incredible, what do you mean you're insecure? Have you even seen yourself?

His support is like most things with him. Rather quiet.

He's not good with words, so he stays quiet instead of trying to force himself to try and compliment you, only to say something stupid in the end. He's not gonna risk making you feel worse.

Instead, he listens to you if you open up about your insecurities.

He holds you when you feel bad.

He gently touches the parts of your body that you feel bad about.

If you two are at the point of sex, he'll make sure to worship your entire body, especially whatever you're insecure about.

He shows his love through his actions. It doesn't matter how much worship it might take, he will give it all to you.

He loves you. He wants you to know he loves you. And he'll show it to you with all he has.

And he's a big boy, there's a lot to show it with.

Tom Bones (he/him)

The moment you open up about your insecurities, you're in his arms, held very tightly.

He tells you that daddy's gonna protect you and asks if there's anyone in particular that put shit like that in your head.

He could use new drumsticks, after all.

beat all the kanto gyms. progression was a tad obtuse at times but to be fair that's how shit went in early gen pokemon (and also a lot of games of the prehistoric period of the 20th century), and we have the internet these days so it's fine. surprised at how good of a challenge blue was, really; though it makes sense given how he's the final gym in the damn game. all that's left is mt silver... and Him... i think i'm gonna grind the elite 4 for a bit to get my guys all ripe and leveled up, i think i've settled on my final team. if you wanna hear me rant about my team, click the read more because i'm probably gonna go on for a while about each one and they all deserve it.

well, there's my starter, JAINA! the feraligatr. she's always been there, and honestly i was pleasantly surprised when i got a girl since those are always rare with the starters. i will say that my favorite gen 2 starter is the chikorita line, but every time i play a pokemon game i try not to overuse my favorites and go for a different experience every time and i already used chikorita during my HGSS playthrough (which, i'm actually pretty sure i haven't completed, but eh). i will say that out of all of my pokemon playthroughs, JAINA! has easily been my least reliable starter, and not to sound cold but i only love her a normal amount rather than the "i love her dearly" i've had for all my other starters. she's still really good though, and i do still love her

then there's kurohime!, my jynx. for a while, i've been of the opinion that ice types Suck and frankly? she turned me around on that. probably helps that she's also psychic, but she's consistently been one of my rocks ever since i got her (which, to be fair, was just before the eighth gym in johto). she's just like, really good, and i love her dearly. also, if you're wondering, her name is just the japanese word for "black" (kuro) and the japanese word for "princess" (hime) mashed up together, and i actually have a marginally convoluted train of thought for that. so, jynx is very obviously inspired by gyaru, right? and, well, as far as i'm aware male gyaru are called "gyaru-oh", with the "oh" meaning "king". and one of the most notable varieties of gyaru are called "kuro gyaru", so i just sorta like, reversed the gender there but since i didn't know the japanese word for queen i just went for princess instead. got the point across, anyways.

there's Ashe., my skarmory. i caught her either just before or just after the eighth johto gym, i forget which. she's also an extremely reliable pick just in general, often living through shit that's even super effective or crits. not even mentioning how good she is at "defusing" all the shithead self destruct users, given her steel type. she's also my flyer, so that naturally makes her innately useful. i had a pidgeotto named yuki!!! as my flyer before, but skarmory is just Better. my reasoning for naming her Ashe. is long forgotten, forever ago when i got my first skarmory in pokemon emerald she was also a girl and i decided "yeah, ashe is a good name for a skarmory" for whatever reason. maybe it's that the route you can catch skarmory on in emerald is the ashy volcano area with the banger soundtrack, i dunno.

now that i'm thinking about it, here's an honorable mention to my graveler KNICK (pronounced with or without the k depending on whichever's funniest at the time, so usually with the k). he was solid but by the time i got to the end of the johto gym challenge he had outgrown his usefulness, especially given how since i'm not playing on original hardware and i have no friends i can't really trade him, y'know. he was also really good at dealing with exploders, for what it's worth.

for a good while there, i had a gligar named GILLY!, i think he actually was there for the first time i took the elite 4. gligar learns Fuck & Shit for moves, at least in gen 2, so i cheated a bit to give him some relatively basic things like earthquake and rock throw and such. sue me, i cheated in literally no other regard. also, i named him after a line from a david bowie song, i believe ziggy stardust specifically. for some reason i just had that specific line of "jammin' good with weird and gilly!" in my brain at the moment so i was just like "sure, he seems like a gilly.

we have ivy!!!, my bellossom. i honestly expected him to end up a lot weaker than he did, but pretty much as soon as he evolved into a bellossom he became solid as they come. goddamn tanky, that's the best word for him, a motherfucking tank. dude could take super effective moves from guys well within his level range and take like a 10th of his health bar in damage. i feel like i could try to set him on fire with a lighter in his sleep and he wouldn't even wake up, and i'm not exaggerating. all while being a goddamn adorable little hula dancer fellow. fucking legend, i love him with my life. was a pain in the ass to get his evolution stone, fucking bugcatcher contests are bullshit.

there's my newest member, the guy who replaced GILLY!, his name? Ken. with the period. all of these are with the punctuation marks i wrote them with, because i think it's funny. i got him as a little baby tyrogue and trained him up real good until he evolved into a hitmonchan. it also took him until being a hitmonchan to learn some fucking moves other than tackle, though to be fair his Three Elemental Fist Techniques all came to him at the same time, with his first fighting type move coming fairly quickly after the fact. it's a weird euphoria leveling up once when all you've been training with is fucking tackle and immediately getting three pretty decent moves. instantly gave me solid coverage, even if his special attack stat is weak as hell we can always overcome that with training. and we currently are! after he got fire, ice, and thunder punch, he started growing damn quickly and caught up with the rest of my guy's levels almost immediately, it was damn impressive. went from like, level 10 or so to level 40 over the course of a single day, and i'm really proud of him. he's kinda got brittle bone disease due to how common birds are in general but that's nothing that obscene amounts of training can't fix! i kinda wanna get all my guys to level 100, or at least well into the 80s. Ken. is definitely a glass cannon, completely unlike his namesake but to be fair kenshiro from fist of the north star is stupid OP. he's my special little boy. but not my special-est little boy, that honor belongs to....

mint!!!!!! is my umbreon, my umbreon who evolved from an eevee at damn near level 50 and has easily been my highest level guy for as long as i've been training him to evolve. at first i was undecided if i wanted an umbreon or an espeon, but as soon as i realized i could get a jynx and that elsewise we're pretty hard up for good dark type gamers, i decided on umbreon and only leveling him at night. he definitely took a while, but god do i love my little baby boy... and he's strong! he was even strong by the end of his time as an eevee, an unreasonably powerful eevee because again, he was like level 47 or 48 when he finally evolved. but god damnit was he worth it. also, he evolved on the same night that trump got shot, so that happenstance is probably gonna live with me for the rest of my life. mint is my little gamer, and i love him with my life, and i wanna give him all the treats and pets in the world. he's literally perfect and i will not accept any criticism of him. and he's still technically my highest level guy, though the gap isn't that big anymore. he swept sabrina's gym, too! isn't he special... my precious little baby boy..... seriously just look up the gen 2 umbreon sprite he's cute as hell. again, not to sound cold but honestly i'm about as attached to him as i usually am to my starter, for what it's worth. he's my precious beast

I really want to try their quiches. Usually my mum also gets me some of their mini cake loafs & brownies, the mini cake loafs are the kinda thing you’d expect for a cream tea so not massive but they now do proper sized cake loads actually their pretty fucking big. Oh and we found a place that does a GF Vegan birthday cake that is soo good. It uses more of a chocolate ganache instead of icing and the centre is raspberry it’s not a jam like a Victoria sponge has but its made with real raspberries and its really tasty and fresh. It’s from this place in the UK called Lola’s cupcakes they mostly have pop up stalls that’s how we found them well my brother did when he was in London they had a stand near the station selling cupcake versions of the same thing. Oh and my dad managed to snag some of Aldis vegan ‘not salmon’ its meant to be smoked salmon so heres hoping it tastes good. I find fish stuff is harder to replicate then again it depends I tried some good ‘fish cakes’ before but I tried some vegan ‘prawns’ years ago that were disgusting and some vegan ‘tuna’ that was oddly sweet. But it is one of the few items that is GF. Veganuary kinda sucks now because most of the stuff that comes out isn’t GF but there’s still some gems actually Aldi surprised me with how many items were GF in the fake meat section as prior to this they had 1 fake meat item that was GF now they have many including ‘pulled pork’ which I didn’t expect to be GF at all. I just hope they keep these new lines after veganuary is over cos last year they didnt well some stayed but most disappeared and it sucked and it’s not like it doesnt sell either my local Aldi was wiped out of the vegan salmon and a lot of the other stuff when I went I got so upset so my dad went to the one near him he did however by 3 packs of the stuff so I really hope I like it.

I think it's important to highlight that Georgie's role season 5 was only what happened because of the pandemic and therefore the lack of availability that Sasha Sienna had to record her lines, and more importantly she was originally supposed to die in one of the original concepts for the finale. Which surprises me a little because among all the seven regular characters I always imagined she was the only one with a certain guarantee of survival, I wonder if her initiative to enter the narrative would have bitten her in the ass

eh. i've never particularly cared for what was 'supposed to happen' in a production but didn't because of covid/scheduling conflicts/studio fuckery etc. as long as the final product was good and interesting. and i think it was! i love season five overall, and think it made a good ending for the show and its characters. whether georgie's role was supposed to be different doesn't actually matter to me because i think what she actually ended up doing was really engaging and is one of the things that made me get really hooked to her character

also, do we know exactly what would be different about her role had the pandemic worked out differently? i've never heard that she died in one of the early concepts (but then i for some unknown reason get really uncomfortable listening to creators/actors discuss their work and never really engaged with any of that beyond the end of season qna's and whatever clips or word of mouth i got on social media). just hearing that it sounds like an underwhelming ending for her because, like you said, there really seemed to be no narrative foreshadowing or reasoning that would set that up. unless it was a sort of 'they all die' sorta deal... which would also kinda suck? imo?

i don't think it really matters whether entering the narrative would have fucked her over. i actually think it would have, considering no one else that does so comes out unscathed. i also don't see anything interesting that would have come out of it. idk

My overall opinion of the Monster High movie:…Eh, it was okay.

SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE KINDA SORTA

Like as a longtime fan, a lot of things irked me, but I can see kids enjoying it. Also just pirate the movie. Literally don’t support the director in any way cause he’s a racist dick. But generally SOME of the changes were kinda cool to see, and I had fun watching it albeit with most of the entertainment coming from me making fun of it.

Obviously Frankie is the best thing to ever happen to the movie. I think they hold up the heart of G1 Frankie while improving other aspects like not just making them the rather bland “nice” character. They were super awkward and weird (and autistic, I will fight you). They’re super smart and they know it while being reallyyyy lost on social settings, but their willingness to learn was a big charm to their character. They’re just so happy and excited to experience a whole new world that the enthusiasm was infectious!

I also like the bond Clawdeen has with both Frankie and Draculaura. Their friendship was really genuine as they uplifted and supported one another through and through. Frankie and Clawdeen were especially fun to watch together. They immediately clicked and were joined at the hip since day one, and I may or may not think they have the potential to make a cute pair. Anything is better than Clawdeen and Deuce.

And like yeah no it SUCKS that as soon as Clawdeen was pushed to be the main character, her sexuality was immediately erased! I know it wasn’t Sanders’s original intention to make her a lesbian, but the lesbian community clearly saw themselves in Clawdeen to the point where he was like “yeah she’s gay now.” And like if they were so blunt about Frankie’s gender, why couldn’t they go through with making Clawdeen a lesbian?? It’s dumb and upsetting and I hate it. Deuce is gay now out of my own spite and anger. They’re pretending to date till they feel ready to come out, that’s my canon./lh

Other general thoughts uhhhh: I miss G1 Abbey, the climax battle wasn’t really a climax and was a massive disappointment, I think it’s creative to have the school itself be alive, I actually like that they’re carrying the monsters v human theme from the previous two generations only I think it wasn’t handled all that well in this movie, Deuce is fucking lame and I miss the punk dude bro, Frankie is officially my favorite character of G3, some of the newer choices for characters are hit or miss overall tbh, annnd I don’t know it’s a kids movie produced by Nickelodeon with a racist director, so I went in with no expectations while coming out of it with an okay experience. I give it a solid 3.5/10. Maybe a generous 4/10.

I cried when I saw it, but I understood (and still do understand) where she was coming from, and was very supportive of what she'd said in my follow up messages. But since then, every time I've seen her at school she's been with out other friend, even though she said she'd expressed this to other people.

Me, her, and the other friend all share a maths class, and they've stopped sitting with me. The first time it happened, she texted me that night and was like, "fuck were you here today? I'm so sorry."

And to be quite honest, I'm upset, but I sort of feel like I shouldn't be. She's done everything "right", and done her best to make it clear I haven't done anything, but it still feels a little targeted, especially since when I told her about feeling ignored she was like, "I really think for your sake you need to get out more/talk to more people" but even that was phrased as nicely as possible.

It's all just a mind-fuck, and I don't what to do. I've just been hanging out with some other people I'm a little less close to and it’s been great, but she's my best friend and I hate not talking to her, even if I get why.

I think transition periods (middle to secondary; secondary to college; college to uni; uni to workplaces) often come with these sorts of complicated friend situations and it absolutely does suck. I think you’re justified in feeling a bit ticked off and it is - imho - a little bit personal (which is okay). By the sound of it, she wants to craft a bit of a new identity and strike outside her established comfort zone and you’d prefer to stay close and keep the status quo. That’s an impasse. I’d recommend trying to make some new friends and getting out your comfort zone too. You and her might reconnect in time, or maybe you’re growing in separate directions. That’s definitely sad but it’s a part of life. I’d focus on making new friends at college and your extramurals/part-time job. Be proactive. The people you like from college but aren’t close to - why not invite them to do something together? You aren’t close now but you might become close and it’s a chance to spread your wings and make new friends (which seems to be what she wants to do too). Neither of you are at fault - this is a really hard but normal thing to go through.

I had a similar situation actually partway into uni so not even during a life transition but basically a friend told me a similar thing. It was right after my ex and I broke up and I was sorta leaning on being very sociable and she and I had been friends since school and anyway I kept asking her if she wants to hang out and eventually she said to me that she feels we’re growing apart and should take some space from each other. Her and I actually went on to do the same postgrad course and we’ve hung out again but we’ve never been THAT close and yes it hurt a lot (her message was ruder than your friend’s btw) but eh she was probably right like we were growing in different directions and the close friendship was running its natural course. Didn’t make it hurt less but I wish her well and I’m glad I did manage to make a bunch of new friends at uni - many of whom are lifelong friends - which I probably wouldn’t have done if she hadn’t sorta given me that push and carried on focusing on like her and our other school friend and mutual friends with my ex.
