Genuine question as to why you feel so passionate about being pro-jedi? I definitely wouldn't say I'm anti-jedi, but I think there are some decent criticisms that can be made about them. But overall I'm just interested to understand the dedication to being pro-jedi, cause it is a fictional organisation at the end of the day. Isn't it more fulfilling to look at them from different perspectives so we can get the most out of the story as possible?

Before I answer, I'm going to ask you a question in turn, would you ever ask this question to someone who was anti-Jedi? Would you ever imply that they need to change their view on the Jedi because they're "not getting the most out of the story?"

Now, I'm going to preface this answer by saying that I'm not angry with you, I'm just very passionate about this topic---so don't take any of this personally. You seem like you're genuinely asking, and I appreciate that.

Personally, for me, there aren't really any criticisms that can be made about the Jedi- (keep in mind, I primarily adhere to Lucas Canon, everything else is just an add on depending whether I like it or not). Everything that people criticize the Jedi for or accuse them of falls into one of three categories:

Not true- (the Jedi are a cult, the Jedi repress their emotions, the Jedi were mean to Anakin, etc.)

Done for a reason because the other option would be worse/it was their only real option in a bad situation- (the Jedi shouldn't have fought in the war, the Jedi should've defended Ahsoka, the Jedi are slavers because of the clones, etc.)

Or it's something that's an Eastern concept/practice but people refuse to look at it as such and instead project their Western viewpoint/religious trauma onto them- (literally the entire thing about attachment)

I've never seen any criticism of the Jedi that doesn't fall into one of these categories, so why should I be inclined to "hear people out" or "look at the Jedi from other perspectives" when there's...really nothing else to look at?

Another thing to consider is that, while the Jedi are fictional characters, George Lucas based them heavily on very real religions and groups---particularly Jews and Buddhists.

So when people say things like- "the Jedi weren't allowed to care/love/have emotions because of Attachment™️" -they're spreading harmful misinformation and basically saying that Buddhists can't love/care/have emotions because of their rule against attachment, since the philosophy of non-attachment is literally taken verbatim from Buddhism.

And when people usually pair the above rhetoric with- "-and that's why the Jedi deserved what they got/caused their own downfall" -it's...a very concerning mindset for people to perpetuate---especially when George Lucas based the genocide of the Jedi and the rise of the Empire off of the Holocaust and Nazi Germany.

When you strip away the fictional aspects of it, a lot of what people say about the Jedi is literally Nazi/antisemitic/Holocaust denial rhetoric. To take an example of something that has actually been said on one of my posts:

This is why attempts to read Star Wars where Anakin is a Christ figure or correct where the Jedi have failed (ignoring the fact that he wrecked the lives of most people he was involved with, including himself, and the Darth Vader was never happy) are not just incorrect, but generally have a thick underlayer of antisemitism.

So, while Star Wars is fictional, it's important for people to analyze why they feel the way they do about the Jedi and be critical of the ways in which they talk about/criticize the Jedi---because, like it or not, the Jedi and their genocide are based on real people/things and so your reaction to them/what happened to them can be very telling.

Finally, being critical of the good guys or trying to view everything through a morally grey lens doesn't make the story inherently more interesting, nor does it inherently add anything to the story---so I'm not "missing" anything.

If believing that no one can actually just be good, and everyone has to have some agenda, and "the good guys were the REAL bad guys all along" adds something to Star Wars for you...by all means, go ahead and believe what you want.

But my view of Star Wars isn't "lesser" or "missing something" just because I don't share that view and actually like the good guys and believe in what they taught/did.

I'm passionate about being pro-Jedi because of everything I outlined above and because they were truly good people who tried their best to help the galaxy---they were brought down, not because of anything they did, but because of one man's selfish stupid actions.

There might've been a time when I was willing to hear people out when they criticized the Jedi---because hey! maybe I was wrong---but that time has long passed because nothing anyone has ever criticized the Jedi for has held up to scrutiny, and anti-Jedi people won't just keep the fuck off my page and leave me alone.

About Izzy in that S2 Finale…

Well. I’ll say some nice things first. Unlike other tv shows I’ve seen, Izzy had a whole redemption arc for being the show’s previous antagonist rather than just jumping straight to a “redemption” death. And as a friend poetically said, at least he died doing what he loved, knowing he was loved.

HOWEVER. HOWEVER HOWEVER HOWEVER, I think Izzy should’ve been allowed to live, for the following reasons:

Con O’ Neil is an international treasure and the man acts his ass off.

We could’ve explored Izzy moving on from the abusive relationship with Ed. He repressed a lot of the trauma. Naturally, negative side effects would’ve cropped up. I think showing Izzy further learning to thrive and explore healthy relationships would’ve been reaffirming for viewers.

Speaking of romantic potential, we could’ve gotten an Izzy-Lucius-Pete pairing. The romantic tension between Stede and Izzy could’ve been addressed. Or Izzy could’ve found a leather daddy/daddies who deserved him. Etc, etc.

Izzy is a significant, visibly disabled queer character on a tv show. That’s rare media representation that has to be treated with the care it deserves. With the way his death happened, it not only removed the representation but also made it so a disabled queer character lost the will to live. Other tumblr users like @bougiebutchbitch and @cononeillbreastingboobily explained it better. Their posts can be found here and here.

Izzy also represents the emotional core of the crew and hope for an older queer generation. Why would you ever get rid of those things?

Although I can see how Izzy’s death was intended to create a more dramatic finale, it felt both anticlimactic and unnecessary. If Izzy’s death hadn’t happened, the narrative would still make complete sense. The finale-worthy emotional impact they were going for could’ve been achieved by showing the whole crew saying goodbye to Ed and Stede as they started a new life together. Ed and Stede could’ve appointed Izzy captain, which would’ve had precedent since Izzy has been the heart and voice of the crew. Ed and Izzy still could’ve had their healing moment together. And Izzy would’ve been set up for a potential matelotage, since this show loves its parallels. Sometimes a straightforward, happy ending makes the most sense and you don’t have do too much. It’s already great.

Idk I think people objections to vivziepop is overblown, she's hard to work with? So was Yuji Naka, She drew problematic art? So did Miura Kentaro and Rebecca Sugar, she said bad things in the past? Other parts come off as edit wars:

Improper Representation of Sexual Assault In one of the episodes of Hazbin Hotel, there have been some criticism about how sexual assault has been treated, as one of the chatacters, Husk, would tell Angel Dust that the latter will "get over it", even though Angel Dust has experiences with being sexually assaulted by Valentino, which is one of the things you should never say to a person who suffers from PTSD/Trauma.

Not even touching the yet again misconception that Loser Baby is a victim blaming song... This is a lie. Husk never once utters the words "get over it". This should be edited out immediately. Checking the source, it was badly paraphrased by a Tumblr post badly paraphrasing it in bad faith.

It was then revealed that Vivziepop also supported a Twitter user named "Raphielle", who is an NSFW artist that actively makes art of non-con/rape of Valentino and Angel (in which Valentino is the abuser, and Angel Dust as a victim of Val), with Raphielle even supporting said ship despite it being toxic and very wrong.

Also I don't see the issue? Valentino abusing Angel is canon. And if Raphielle animated Poison, kudos to them for such a raw portrayal of abuse.

What makes it worse that Raph romanticizes it as well, despite mentioning that he has dealt with being repressed and being controlled, which is not a good excuse of drawing rape porn, in which Raph constantly fetishizes it.

Supporting of Proshipping Like said before, while she has supported Raphielle, who supports non-con/rape ship of Valentino and Angel Dust, Vivziepop has also be revealed to have sexualized Morty from an adult animated TV show called "Rick and Morty" (in which Morty is 14-years-old, mind you). As a reward, they gave her nightmares of the divine spear that killed her, which eventually allowed her to fight her way out of the underworld and back to life. So Ashiok goes to New Phyrexia, because giving nightmares to the undreaming, unstoppable machine that the rest of the multiverse has nightmares about sounds like the greatest challenge they'll ever have. They start interfering with the mind of Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines, figurehead and ruler of New Phyrexia, and end up not only forcing her to dream, but to have nightmares about Elspeth Tirel, telling Elesh Norn that this one planeswalker is the only feasible threat to Phyrexia's might. Elesh Norn ends up so obsessed that just the possibility of Elspeth's presence at the final battle throws off her entire war strategy and leads to her downfall while Ashiok cackles from behind the scenes. Now, Ashiok is one of the few planeswalkers who's retained the ability to planeswalk, and the next upcoming set is rumored to feature them as the primary antagonist for the first time.

They travel into other people's dreams in order to observe or give their targets nightmares, including inducing horrifying visions to Elesh Norn, an overarching villain and who is a terrifying entity in her own right. They do this mostly because they can. They are a nonbinary body horror cenobitic....entity. AND they're hot.

Idk I too want better for Casca but I really dislike the hype for Casca potentially becoming an apostle, these users put it far better than i would:

I skimmed these posts to see whether there were any points made that I felt like "responding" to, and there's a few.

First, Casca being a good person has nothing to do with anything except people not wanting her to become a monster, which I obviously don't vibe with because I think the concept of a good person becoming a monster fucks hard, which is one reason I like Berserk a whole lot. And I think a potential Moonbaby sacrifice would fit perfectly with one of the "good person" sacrifice examples they give: the 'person you loved the most and hated the most' sacrifice motivation, since it's intertwined with Griffith in some metaphysical way and it could be a two for the price of one deal. It's almost too on the nose.

Second, I don't think it necessitates Casca joining Griffith. Griffith seems to be out of the Godhand now, incarnated on the physical realm, presumably no longer presiding over sacrifices, and my favourite worldbuilding pet theory is actually that the godhand and Griffith will be at odds. Something's gotta threaten the godhand's existence since something wiped out the last cycle that we saw in Skull Knight's memory, and an incarnate fifth that appears right on schedule seems like just the thing.

Third, Casca's apostle trauma is, if anything, a sign in favour of her becoming an apostle since like, everyone in Berserk is at least tempted to symbolically become their abuser/rapist/nemesis as part of gaining power, eg:

Why can't Casca get in on the interesting and complicated moral and emotional greys here? This is good shit, I want it for Casca. I want her to be tempted to become what she fears, to escape her own sense of powerlessness through abandoning her morals. It's just a more direct version of Guts wanting to become a monster since that's rooted in rape trauma and both the narrative and Guts himself equates monsters to both his rapist and abuser.

I didn't see them mention the fact that apostles are compelled to love Griffith which to me seems like one of the best arguments against it (though again, I skimmed so maybe I missed it), but Ganishka resisted that, and Casca has a long history of repressing her love for Griffith so I think it could actually be a neat, and overcomeable extension of her human feelings.

Another big and better argument against it, particularly after the last couple chapters, is that Miura clearly just did not give a shit about Casca lol. And I mean I already knew that, one reason I thought the apostle Casca theory held water is that it would be a way for Miura to avoid writing Casca's trauma realistically and instead veer into one big dramatic moment followed by fantastical metaphor while keeping her a less nuanced plot point, albeit a more active and fun one than she had been so far. Instead his way of avoiding writing Casca's trauma realistically was to have her faint any time she thinks about it and then take away her personality AGAIN. So yeah, unfortunately I just don't think Miura wanted Casca to be badass and actively affect the plot. Idk if he ever knew what to do with her after deciding not to kill her off just to motivate Guts post-Eclipse.

Finally I just don't know if there's really time for that anymore. My vision was an Empire Strikes Back style end of second act downturn. Casca becomes a monster and sets a new arc in motion, Guts falls into despair and succumbs to the armour, shit gets real and interesting again for a while. Instead Guts' second act downturn is being mad that Griffith is still a god lol. She could definitely still go apostle at the climax of the story, and you better believe I'm still rooting for that, but idk if it'd be as satisfying lol. But I guess we'll see.

Anyway yeah you're free to disagree with any of my hot takes, but you're not gonna convince me Casca shouldn't become an apostle, because my reasoning ultimately boils down to "I would enjoy it." I would certainly enjoy it a hell of a lot more than fainting damsel in distress Casca which is what we're dealing with right now lol. If your reasoning boils down to "I would not enjoy it" then I probably won't convince you either, and that's fine. We'll find out what's going to happen eventually.

And finally I want to err on the side of caution and make it clear that I have no interest in arguing with the user you linked, and I hope you're not planning to be like, some kind of anonymous go-between linking posts back and forth. I used the linked posts as a bouncing off point to explain some of my reasoning, and that's the end of it as far as I'm concerned.

Liberties

Here is an idea where liberties are taken and frankly not given back. This is a world where Cerasi survived Mawat’s assination attempt. Obi Wan never went back to Jedi. Instead he continued to help rebuild Melidaan and continued to follow the Force.  Every so often the Force would send him out into the galaxy to meet other Force Sensitives, and adopt them. This is a world where Obi Wan learns to own his attachments instead of repressing them. In addition every force sensitive that was active in the outer rim is eventually drawn to at least stop on Melidaan. Light or Dark; Sith, Jedi, and everything in between. Up to and including Darth Plagueis and Darth Sidious in their alter egos. No one thinks to tell the Jedi High Council.

I picture Xanatos showing up, first because of his obsession with revenge against Qui Gonn, then after hearing Obi’s story being like ‘now we are truly brothers’. He is batshit insane and cheerfully vows not to sell Obi or any of Obi’s people into salvery every time he arrives but he is a genius for creating/managing resources and Obi would do anything for his chosen people, even reluctantly spending time with the man that is at the center a good chunk of his trauma. 

Things get even weirder when Feemor is reunited with his lineage brothers. Frankly all of them need so much therapy. 

At some point they (by they I mean the Young government in combination with the various Force users that pop in and out of their lives) create a school for force sensitives on Melidaan, just called The School. It is semi secret in that knowledge of it never quite reaches general knowledge in the core worlds but not through any actions on the part of the people involved. In that time Obi-Wan discovers something interesting. While about 90% of force users can use either side of the Force without issue, the evil comes from the actions not the side of the force, the other 10% is restricted to Dark or Light with the other side being akin to an addiction.  Exclusive dark side users are less common, due to an inherent recklessness that tends to get themselves killed, but they do exist. 

Something nobody knows is that Yoda and the Master that trained him were both within that small percentage restricted to use of the Light side. He has assumed that his reaction to the dark is a commonality of all force users, not a restriction that he has. 

Of the Sith of this time, in the years before Plageus died, Palpatine is the first to find his way to their out of the way little planet. It was mostly an accident, with the force subtly guiding his fingers to put in the wrong coordinates for a hyperspace jump. Though Palpatine does fall into the 90% that can use either side, he has been using the darkside almost exclusively for decades. Users of the darkside, particularly Sith, tend to see the force more of a servant than a teacher. Thus the Force, semi sentient, has to be much more subtle when dealing with Sith. 

Palpatine is somewhat confused as he lands, for once listening to the force as it presses him forward. He had been headed for a vacation on Naboo.  At this time he is still a part of the current senator’s retinue, a few years away from being a senator himself. The people in the space port barely look at him before directing him up to The School.  It is generally assumed that any strange, unknown visitors looking vaguely confused about where they were have something to do with the Force and should be dealt with by Obi Wan. To be fair, this policy has only been wrong twice. 

Palpatine is politely, but firmly, loaded into a transport and dropped off at the school.  None of his questions were answered along the way.  He spent a bit of the ride sort of wondering if he was being abducted, why he wasn’t more concerned or angry about that fact, and rationalizing following this weird feeling in the Force to its conclusion. 

He is brought to Obi Wan’s office, as the head of the school. Obi Wan asks him if he prefers direct questions and answers or complicated politic conversation. At Palpatine’s surprised look,  Obi Wan goes on to say that they want people to be comfortable and he doesn’t have a preference.  Normally Palpatine would enjoy political back and forth but by this time his curiosity is piqued. The first question that Obi Wan asks is if Palpatine is aware of his own force sensitivity.  This serves to shock Palpatine into stillness, the only other person to clock his force sensitivity had been Plageuis many decades before. He had even managed to hide it on Coruscant from the High Council of the Jedi.  

In the silence that followed Obi wan explained about this being a school for force sensitives that felt they had nowhere else to go.  Members of the Jedi Order that had been expelled or relegated to a corp due to lack of being chosen, Knights and Shadows who felt disconnected from the Order. There were also Force sensitive that had been exiled from their own planets due to their force sensitivity, escaped slaves, and more than a few that were there because the force said they should be. Obi Wan has pamphlets, which he hands over to Palpatine. Obi Wan went on to explain that Paplatine was free to explore his sensitivity here as long as the rules were followed:

No action that would deliberately cause permanent or long lasting injury to anyone on the planet, defined as any injury that cannot be healed in 48 standard hours, be it physical, mental, emotional, or psychic. The creation of soul wounds are never permitted on the planet as they are almost always permanent. 

Unless agreed to previously, do not approach students or teachers of this school off this planet. Some may not be comfortable with their connection to The School being public knowledge.

As it is possible for members of this school to end up on different sides of a conflict, if one member recognizes another it is courtesy to ignore the other if possible. If not, then the courtesy of a quick death. 

Any technique that will change the environment or the Force on the planet toward either the Dark or the Light will only be performed only with the permission of the School Board and the Planetary government.  The only exception will be 4 specially dedicated areas:

An area on the West side of campus dedicated to the Dark

An area to the South that is dedicated to combining beginner to mid level Dark and Light techniques that is open to anyone.

An area to the North dedicated to combining advanced Dark and Light techniques that requires special authorization.

The use of these areas is predicated on the results of what is effectively a Force Allergy test to ensure that the being falls into the 90% that can use either side without harming themselves

All experimental techniques used on this planet that have a test subject must have a written waiver from the subject stating that they agree to the test, with full knowledge of the potential risks and no coercion to the part of the testor.  

Experimental techniques that have a greater that 75% chance of one of the following must be pre approved by the School Board and the Planetary Council:

Changes to the environment, the Flora, the Fauna, or the Force lasting more than 1 hour

Death

A soul wound

Permanent or Long Lasting injury, as defined above. 

Acceptance of responsibility of any and all beings created or changed through the Force

Avoid Building 15, for the thing it houses is an abomination even to itself. Unless, of course you discover how to give it the release of death. Then please contact the administrator of facility management. 

All of these rules were written into a contract that was enforced by the Force itself through a humanoid conduit.  Apparently one of the Light and Dark mixed techniques that was discovered was for a Force Sensitive to tie themselves to a planet becoming an avatar of the Force on that planet. This avatar can then enforce a force based contract, and can remotely wipe the memories of breaches of contract depending on the severity. 

By the time Palpatine leaves he is not sure how he was convinced to sign the contract but he is glad he did. He is also mentally revising all of his empire plans to make sure this planet, which he finally determines is Melidaan, is protected at all costs and is now central to the reconditioning of initiates and padawans of the Jedi when the time comes.  He will later bring Plagueis to the school as well, with similar results. Though they do continue their more objectionable experiments, they are kept carefully off Melidaan.

For a decade this continues. Light and Dark agree that Obi Wan, and through him his new people, are precious and should be protected at all costs.  Just before TPM starts Obi is drawn to Tattoine, into the slave quarters. He is not a stranger to this planet or nearly any planet on the outer rim but he has never been to this outpost, these slave quarters before.  The Force ensures that he meets Shmi and Anakin two week before the Naboo delegation lands. The Force, so much clearer after a decade of being listened to, whispers that this boy is to be a younger brother and student to him but not yet. They must wait.  He is just as eloquent in this life and explains the Force and his feelings to Shmi, backed by Anakin. 

When Qui Gon Jinn arrives two weeks later Obi Wan is introduced as Ben, a friend of the family. Jinn does not recognize Ben as the student he once left behind. In fact he does not ever realize that he and Anakin are not the only Force Sensitives in the room. Anakin is a bit worried because the Force is saying that he needs to go with the Jedi, but he also wants to go with Obi Wan. Obi wan tells him quietly that just because the Force says go with the Jedi, it doesn't mean he will have to stay with the Jedi forever. 

There is no attack from Maul, as he is intercepted by Obi Wan. The two have a brief chat about what brought Maul to the planet. No one who knows him questions Obi Wan showing up in strange places. Maul is there to find an unfortunate being that had managed to steal from one of Maul’s Master’s smaller holdings. They hadn’t gotten away with much, but had taken a small statuette that he had been planning to donate to Obi Wan’s school for study. 

After the Naboo delegation, Jinn, and Anakin leave the planet, Obi Wan and Maul trek back to Mos Espa.  They find the Ill fated thief, whom Maul sticks in a prison cell on his ship, retrieves the stolen artifact, as well as enough money to buy Shmi Skywalker’s freedom. They do the latter and Maul drops Shimi and Obi Wan back off on Melidaan, where Obi Wan announces that Shimi is the mother of their newest kin to Nield, Cerasi, and a visiting Xanatos. 

Everyone just kind of rolls their eyes and goes back to what they were doing, baring Xanatos.  This was far from the first time that Obi Wan had adopted someone, or increased their family abruptly. The darksider wanders over and begins to flirt, heavily, with Shmi. 

Side Note: I picture Shmi to be about early 40’s at the time of TPM.  If Xanatos had lived he would have been 37, so it could have worked. 

Obi Wan assures Shmi that Xanatos wouldn’t hurt her and would stop if she wanted him to. Thus assured she starts to flirt back, is slightly awkwardly because social norms for a slave are very different from that of freepeople.  

Obi wan announces he is going to their new brother and leaves, going back to Coruscant for the first time since he arrived at Melida/Daan.  He arrives as Qui Gon Jinn is proclaiming his intention to take Anakin as a Padawan. The entire council is surprised when a redhead in his twenties just wanders into one of the most secure chambers in the temple, and not through the front door. In reality every Jedi learns as an initiate how to sneak around in the temple, even into the council chamber. It was a bit of a rite of passage to prank the council chamber at least once when in the Creche. Obi Wan certainly remembers.

None of the Jedi in the room recognize him.

So Obi Wan appears, looking amused and like he had just happened to wander into these highly protected chambers that even other Jedi don’t always have access to. The High Council of the Jedi are looking at each other like ‘Da fuq?’ Anakin lights up and runs to hug Obi Wan, calling him Ben. Jinn peers at Obi Wan, having only barely realized he was actually a person when they met in Shmi’s home, whom he doesn’t recognize. 

Side Note: I sort of head cannon Jinn, when separated from his mountain of trauma and trauma responses, is almost an oblivious scientist type, think Wayne Szalinski from ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids’. In his element he is a prodigy, but he also would wander around only partially dressed because he had an idea, or in Qui Gon’s case he was distracted by something to do with the Living Force. Still an asshole, but mostly out of obliviousness or his pile of trauma rather than maliciousness.  

The council tries to find out who Obi Wan is or how he got there but he is enigmatic. He just says he is here to pick up his kin, Anakin, if it was time. He directs this as a question toward Anakin, ignoring the council. Anakin gets thoughtful and says that the Force says it is not time yet, but that Ben could come with them until it is.  Obi Wan nods but continues to dodge any attempt to get more information out of him about who he is, making pithy comments. 

Just before the tension this is causing could erupt, the large doors of the council chamber slam open, startling everyone. Quinlan Vos, dragging Bant Eerin, bursts into the room at speed. As soon as they cross the threshold he drops Bant’s hand and practically jumps on Obi Wan with a loud cry of “OBI”. Bant looked at them like she couldn’t believe that he was here. Quinn had been to Melidaan, as had most of the Shadows. In fact, of Obi Wan’s temple friends, it is Bant who he has not had a chance to speak to in person in a decade. She is Temple Bound as a healer.  

Obi Wan grumbles fondly about how Quinn gave his identity away. He had at least four more pointed answers, designed to make Qui Gon Jinn burst a blood vessel. Why yes, Obi Wan is slightly bitter about the whole abandoned in a war zone, why do you ask?

It isn’t until Bant sobs Obi Wan’s name that anyone realizes who is standing in the chamber. Qui Gon get even more agitated seeing the padawan he abandoned being clung to by the shiny new prophecy child he found.

This is gonna' be a girthy one guys. First: I left tumblr in 2019, I couldn't stand it. When I tell you I had an awful experience using this app for 9 years for roleplay, I really fucking mean it. It was fantastic from when I was younger, I started using it around 2012 or so and it was when things were enjoyable. I saw the CREATIVITY that a community could create when it was something like [REDACTED.] Somewhere along the lines, it all died? Like, it was so s sad to see such a fun concept die along the way, I still don't know why.

Somewhere around when I turned 18, I was noticing people were horrible on here. I had friends that would tell me they screenshot dms, discord, and anything that could be a recipt "just in case" I was like "Just in case what motherfucker? Huh?" And then I got hit face first with callouts on my dash, people leaking dms, private conversations, ex friends posting their "testimonials" -- keep in mind, this was not me or in relation to me, and some of these were very much valid and warning of REAL LIFE dangers to others, while others were about shipping incest. I don't care if you think it's gross, that isn't the point. The point was never that callouts let people know X user writes X and to avoid / block, it's that every single time this happened, someone would add a completely irelevant factoid about X user like " they did this to me 2 years ago and I did not like it!" Okay? Alright? A lot of this could have been discussed in dms or just not posted to get 200 notes and somehow end up calling X an abuser. I've seen this so many times, it's not some isolated incident.

For some reason, friends could not part ways without having a mt. of dirt on the other and dumping it all out when the time calls for it. It was like everyone wanted their 5 minutes of fame. It was made infinitely worse when this site became extremely self-sanatized where if you wrote anything that was "probalmatic" or "toxic" you were REQUIRED to be a victim of that same event. Imagine, for three minutes, a self-rightous 17 year old has the gall to ask you if you've been SA'd before because they found you rping this with your rp partner. Even if you think this is gross, there is literally MOUNTAINS of evidence that shows healthy exploration of these thoughts, kinks, and experiences in an enviorment you control is cathartic. Weather or not YOU, the uneducated individual without the psych degree, start yelling "SEEK HELP" as if this was not already a proven method of controlling and facing trauma. Let me tell you: you're not. It's fiction. It is writing. It is fake, a real life occurence, but it is still fake. I have seen people sexualize their fantasy-murderers on the same level as anyone who wanted to write SA porn. Again, this isn't about if you find it acceptable or not, it's about NOT BEING your place to dictate how, when, or who can write it on any grounds, especially demanding to know someone's HISTORY of assault, like imagine being so utterly brain dead that you think you, a stranger, deserve to know anything like this LMAO? it was incredibly common! It was crazy!

Shit, Im getting to the bottom of the box lMAO. Okay.. but yeah, I left tumblr for 4 years to try different sites. I've been on Aniroleplay, and let me tell you. The sanatization the anti crowd wants leads to that. A christian-promoted rp site where if your character is shirtless or has big boobs you get banned because it's "indecent" or "obscene." Twitter has the same amount of problems since most of the minors and obsessive repressed losers left for it. Actually worse than tumblr, it is now peak 2017s tumblr.

I've been on other rp sites where i've had some of the best rp, rich roleplays, GREAT partners, and fun little oc creation experience I ever had. Everyone listed their interests, if you didn't like, you didn't BRING IT UP. You continued like adults, and if not, you block. Boom. The site literally ip bans you if you harass someone. That's what tumblr needed, but instead, all we got was people using statcounter in the midst of 2017-2020 to show who was "stalking" or who left the page open by accident, or something. I was so anxious id have my ip leaked, even if it wasn't a precise location, the idea of someone finding my name and ruining my life was horrifying. I've seen it happen, I've seen people lose jobs from it, I've seen what someone awful with INTENT can do.

Leaving was the best thing ever. I came back only recently because I wanted to try and find a few partners and imagine my fucking shock when I see " NO drama, NO callouts that aren't SPECIFICALLY in reference to A REAL INDIVIDUAL who poses a danger to others " it was insane. It wasn't an isolated incident, but every profile I follow has this, it's all around blogs I wouldnt even think of following, but when I check, I see it there. It's like they all got exhausted with the constant "THIS PERSON WRITES X AND X" like alright? BLOCK THEM, you clown.

first of all, sorry that you're getting all the harrassment that you're getting. it is not deserved and i hope you make the best out of it. i also hope like other users said here that you stay away from the adult circles and engage in the content as safely for you as possible.

i wanted to ask about the harrassment precisely. i remember back on twitter when you hadn't been outed that you participated in the dogpiling and contributed to the harrassment of other hstwt accounts who got outed as having private proship accounts. i'm not here for another cancellation or to make fun of you for it. pressures from anti circles to participate in the dogpiling exist, to fit in and to avoid being outed, or even repressing it. it doesn't justify it, but it's somewhat understandable. i know personally of other proship hstwt adults who faced or still face pretty bad harrassment for exactly the same reasons you are getting harrassed now. the feelings of betrayal and distrust can be really hard to handle. i feel like this would be a great opportunity to voice your opinion if it has changed since then, how you feel about what happened in the past or what you think about the general behavior of usual fandom spaces, leading to processes of "witch hunt", infiltration, constant moral questioning of all and everyone... which aren't helpful at all in actually ensuring safety and boundaries being respected. many thanks.

I used to be a hard-core anti, but I wouldn't go into people's dms and whatnot telling people to off themselves. I did though believe a lot of their ideas that they were terrible people and hurt sa victims, blah blah blah. The hivemind is pretty strong in the anti circles. you just believe whatever your friend tells you (thats why most antis dont even know what a proshipper actually is) think harassing people online over things like drawings and ships is toxic and doesn't help anyone. telling a proshipper to kill themselves will not help them get better. People just like hurting others and being vile so they look for people where they can justify it because they're "bad people" and "deserve it". When you ask them to stop harassing you they just tell you to stop doing the behavior they don't like. You have to walk on fucking eggshells in the anti community because everyone is actively searching for a mistake or take they dont like so they can harass and make threads on you for it. Everything is also extremely performative. I do not like how these people claim to be understanding and tolerant and then do this. Antis always say mental health is important and shit until the mental health issues makes you start doing things they don't like. still thinking about how azami's snakes are born from her trauma. you have clearing who literally serves as trauma itself for her and the mekadan in the story but then there are the purposes of the snakes. all of them all serve to defend azami in different ways.

all of the dan's abilities are not meant for offense bc they never were. they were formed from the trauma azami received from humans and her desire to protect herself from them because azami never wanted to hurt humans. she only did when she Had to protect herself/her family but even so it would always bring her to tears.

awakening is the only ability that can be used to harm others but that was never the intent of the snake. azami used it to heal/reconstuct herself. you can even see this in konoha who is awakening itself. konoha expresses discomfort when he has to use his powers to hurt others and always tries to serve as defense for the dan (ex. taking a bullet for them, using his body as a shield against the truck for hibiya and hiyori).

then there's concealing eyes. concealing makes the user less noticable to others and you can see how azami could use that to defend herself, but then there's the fact that concealing can be used to repress memories. kido uses this to repress the memories of killing her father in novel 7 bc she was so consumed by guilt she didn't even want to live anymore. a thing the brain can do when it receives serious trauma is to repress it and concealing is the literal representation of that, so there's like a double purpose for the snake.

the only snake of azami's that wasn't born from trauma is favoring, her "heart". it was born from her love for her family. shintaro noted in novel 8 that when ayano used favoring, he didnt feel that usual unsettling feeling he felt when the other members used their abilities, because favoring was born from love, so it has a calming feeling to it.

In case you haven't noticed, I have a lot of thoughts about Lasko Moore. I'm gonna talk about the fact that Lasko gives off such repressed Southern Bible Belt energy, tgwgigitgwdd. I think it would be so funny if he got rid of his southern accent until he forgets himself and says some real southern grandma shit like "Jesus Mary and Joseph" or "Mother of pearl" or "Jesus be a fence". I feel like Lasko's storyline is pretty queer coded and I think you know why not just add in a little religious trauma to top it off? Not only is being the magical queer son of an unempowered family hard, there's definitely some bible thumpers who think it's demonic, it's a sin, you name it. And who does everything is about church and you are filled with sin better than southern Catholics am I right? like iykyk. That man was repressed as fuck and moving to Dahlia and being around magic users was obviously so life-changing for him.

Which is where it gets spicy, cause it's me. Deep in Lexi (@autisticempathydaemon) and I's DMs is what I like to call the "Unholy Trinity" files, which is me just talking about various redacted characters and their hoe phases before canon started and this post features two different headcanons. When it comes to Lasko though, like I said that boy was REPRESSED and once he was on his own? Oh he went wild. I like to think it started with him going with his roommates or something to an unempowered frat party and he was like "I want to be this free. I want to not have to think" and it started with him just getting drunk but then he realized there's an even better way to shut your mind off that doesn't come with a hangover - getting fucked stupid. The most important part of this headcanon though was at the height of his hoe phase, he was at an unempowered frat party on a weekend after one of the local college sportsball teams won a championship. Lasko was like a little fucked up idk maybe he took some molly or something but he decided that since they won the game, there should be a reward right? Which ends up being him letting like 12 dudes on the football team run a train on him like some kind of hentai gangbang. He doesn't really remember it, but he's LEGENDARY at that college for years afterwards.

And then there's Doll cause it isn't me if I don't talk about Regulus. I obviously looove Reggie and while I hear the Regulus has kidnapped his listener and they are struggling against him, hear me out. I think it would be so delightful if Regulus's listener was someone who was at such a bad point in their life that Regulus was a welcome change. Doll thinks they're going crazy at first, but it's so nice to not have to worry about things anymore. They don't have to go to work, they don't have to worry about making and keeping friends, they don't have to worry about money - Regulus takes care of all of it. Regulus tells them exactly what to do and makes them do it and it's suuuuuuch a relief for them to have someone tell them what to do and to completely give into someone. Regulus to me seems like someone who needs to be needed and by god I gave him a listener who is so grateful for him erasing everything in their brain but him. Also playing with the idea that Doll could be blind, but that's a whooooole other post.

Sentencing your partner to three hours in silly jail for their silly crimes against humanity. love me a hot honey pizza So I love Guy and have been listening to him a lot and talking about him a lot. It's almost a problem. But I have this hilarious idea that after Guy and Honey got together, lived together for a while, really got into each other, they needed to get a new apartment. They're not super well off, but they weren't willing to compromise on the fact that they needed to be on a top floor and sturdy ceilings so they could have anchor points for suspension. Because Honey loves tying Guy up, gagging him, and sitting in a chair nearby with a cup of coffee getting some work done and their hoodie on while Guy... hangs out. get it, hangs out??? anyway there's also a sign in the room that says "Silly Jail" which Guy finger painted for Honey as a joke but is hung on the wall.

Milo..... oh Milo. How I have mentally corrupted you. This is part two of the unholy trinity files. I think Milo used to be, and I say this in the kindest way possible, a bit of a fuckboy. He was a good guy, he was really polite, but he wasn't interested in relationships but definitely into sex. And Milo Greer got AROUND. Lexi and I were like "how many people in canon can we have made him sleep with and can we put them in a groupchat called 'raise your hand if you've ever been personally victimized by milo greer' where they just trade stories about how buckwild he got before he grew out of it" and it's HILARIOUS. Somehow Vincent, Sam, and Alexis are in the gc and they HATE IT, Lasko and Gavin are in there, Hudson definitely is, and just a bunch of people. Absolutely! I'm very open to helping anyone make a We Happy Few verse for their muse, and I'm very open to making AU verses for Jack to fit him into your muse's setting. I also have a modern verse for him to easily fit him into the world of any muses who exist in more of a real world, modern day, setting.

What is We Happy Few?

We Happy Few is a game of paranoia and survival in the dystopian town of Wellington Wells, set in a retrofuturistic 1964 England. In an alternate version of WWII, the Germans agreed to pull their troops out of Wellington Wells on the agreement that all children be sent away to Germany on a train. In the aftermath, the town essentially went insane desperately trying to forget about their collective grief at the loss of their children.

It became mandated to take a drug, Joy, that induces happiness and euphoria, while also dampening the users' memories, along with wearing creepy masks that make it look like you're always smiling. In recent years, the supply of Joy (and of food!) has been growing dangerously low. The residents of Wellington Wells are reaching the end of their time, though they're too high to notice or do anything to prevent it.

Who is Uncle Jack?

Uncle Jack is the face of Wellington Wells, and all of its injustices and dystopian laws. Which, isn't to say that he believes in any of it- he isn't an authority figure himself. He's the man on every television and radio station, airing multiple propaganda laced shows every day. He's a man reading a teleprompter. In reality, he doesn't agree with the majority of what he's saying, but he also doesn't have the morals to prioritize anything but his own self interests. Until his Joy stops working.

Without the drugs to repress the trauma of his daughter's death and the realities of living in a war torn dystopia, he turns to serial killing and ritualistic cannibalism by night fall.

So i hadn't seen the original post since I try not to be too active here but... Im going to list off references just as a reminder 🫶 !!

As well as syringe's post which even lists Tobias Forge's opinions, which OP said the papas were 'his super secret fight club level identity' which if it were true, he wouldn't be accepting Ghost band awards as himself nor with his family, nor openly interviewing about it... If it was so secret...

Tobias has even been open about other characters of his (such as Mary Goore, as mentioned per an interview) used they/them pronouns even if not INHERENTLY trans or non-binary.

He's always been openly accepting of people regardless of their gender or sexuality (this isn't to idolize him, just stating my knowledge of his values.)

My last point to op?? Here's what those "trans" people think about mine and other works.

I know i have more personal conversations with people where we have discussed how validating it can be for trans and non-binary people to write, read, explore these characters.

A reminder. Tags exist. Read the fucking tags on a fic, chances are the author wrote trans!dewdrop or "usage of cunt" in the tags or notes, and if they didn't?? It takes 3 seconds to comment "could you please add a trans character content tag please?"

As an artist myself, who originally stuck to the "stage representations of the characters" i the slowly started exploring the way i perceive their stories, how i can make MY OWN ART out of these characters that relates TO ME and MY FEELINGS and likes and opinions and such because THAT is what creativity is about. Taking what the world gives you and making it your own.

I am not trans, i am barely even nonbinary... Labels are scary, half the time i don't know who i am okay? I don't always feel like a girl, i don't always hate my body, sometimes i feel like if i live in this body for just a second longer I'll have to scratch all the skin off and crawl out of it myself... Sometimes i wish i could bind, be flat, have a deeper voice, be more masculine, sometimes i want to wear skirts that are way too short and the pretty corset from renfaire that makes my chest look so puffy and pretty... Sometimes it's nobody's fucking business... And sometimes my characters reflect what i am, what i wanna be, what i am not, and what i may never be. And just like my gender and my body?? It's nobody's fucking business.

In all my niceness and honesty. (Which are starting to run lower every time people say stupid shit in this fandom...)

Now let me get a bit more personal for a moment op... I've the posts saying you "went to a Catholic school"

As someone who grew up going to an All-girls Catholic private school, as my whole family before me had done, here's a little bit of insight.

All the shit they told you?? Yeah it causes trauma, it causes resentment and repression. Feeling disgusted and surprised when this "male character" has "female" genitals? Please ask yourself how you feel about your body first. Your mind. Why do you want to read "gay/bi men doing those activities" but not a trans man enjoying himself just as much? Would it be different if if were a ghoulette? Would it be different if the ghoulettes were the ones doing it?

OP please evaluate yourself before you OPENLY SPEAK for a community that you are not a part of, and if you ever do decide to explore your own repression, sexuality, and gender? Quirk Submission

Thought this up awhile ago, but just realized you might have an actual plot use for this one.

Quirk

Memory Lane: User can “enter” someone’s mind, visualized as a space with “paths” leading to random “doors”, which contain memories. User can view the contents of these “rooms”/memories, and even go through them with the person who they belong to, helping them relive the event. Also, By blocking off or unblocking these “paths” user can cause someone to remember or forget memories. Maintains a mild empathic link to someone whose memories they’ve blocked, for as long as the block remains. User cannot “sever” these paths, only block them. A strong enough trigger can unblock the paths regardless, which the user will feel through the link. User can possibly plant “suggestions” or “aversions” to things, to prevent triggers opening the blocked paths, but this takes a lot of effort, and is not a guarantee of never encountering a trigger - it just causes the user to not seek them out on their own. 

Can be used to help people unblock memories they themselves have repressed due to trauma.

Cannot be used (or at least not reliably) on memory problems caused by physical trauma, i.e brain damage.

When I came up with this, I was thinking of a therapist the Todoroki’s might take Touya to in Amnesia!Dabi, and how that would go. Like, it would be early on, when they’re trying to figure out why he has amnesia, and this therapist would confirm its injury, not Quirk related. Like, to clarify, Touya’s amnesia would be the result of a head injury sustained during his mission where he “died”. There are physical symptoms that his body is combating and fixing. So Memory Lane, which is purely mental, can’t do much. It might be able ease the way a bit, or make remembering less disorienting, and the therapist would be able to help Toya reintegrate the memories he gets back, but the actually remembering part he’d have to do on his own.

where as with Kurogiri/Oboro, Memory Lane would be much more helpful (if, as I think we’re going with, his memory loss was a result of AfO’s experimenting, and his memory loss was engineered, rather than injury based). Like, it wouldn’t be easy, or all at once. The user couldn’t just waltz in, unblock those “paths” and call it a day. They’d probably need multiple sessions, with time taken to make sure the memories don’t cause serious disorientation, or distress. But it would be faster, and arguably healthier/less stressful, than just waiting for those memories to be triggered.

(You don’t have to use it, and you can alter it how you see fit, but I thought this might be a Quirk that could have plot significance if you wanted it.)

actually some notes of like. Have I talked on my thoughts re: what I’m doing with both Dabi and Kurogiri in the ‘not exactly a Nomu but were experimented on’ thing? Because what I’m doing with Kurogiri in CC is kinda close to Amnesia Dabi where the amnesia is just kinda a coincidence rather than something done to him so it’d be the same on fixing it. We just now have this au were they’re both amnesia-ed and it’s funny.

But also yeah I love the idea of just. Because it’s a physical injury making things jumbled combined with trauma shutting down recall that causes the amnesia rather than a Quirk, so a Quirk can’t undo it. But the therapist can streamline things.

Fighting Gold

Fighting Gold is a close range combat stand with the ability to turn the things it’s fist come into contact into gold. This isn’t an ability with many super obvious uses, but some practical uses i thought of are: 

Turning windows into gold to block spies or oncoming gunfire,

Turning more durable metals into gold to make them easier to break.

Turning a person’s clothes into gold to restrict their movement.

Also, while hitting a person wont turn them completely into gold, but having a fist-sized chunk of your skin be turned into gold is still going to be really painful.

Personality wise, I think the user of [Fighting Gold] has gone through some kind of deeply repressed trauma, and their ability mirrors their desire to turn the bad parts off the world with something superficially better. 

Traitor’s Requiem 

(Once again, shoutout to my tumblr-less friend who helped me with this one)

[Traitor’s Requiem] is a stand with a ghostly/skeletal appearance that has the power to “Pull Secrets” from the dead. If there is a corpse nearby, the stand can turn into a ghostly copy of the deceased, which that can be asked question, and if it information that the person would have poses when they where still alive, the stand can provide the answer.

It doesn’t have any combat capabilities, so the user plays mostly a support role in whatever team they are on.

As for user personality, I imagine that the user is a detective who for the longest time just used their stand to get leads on solving crimes, before getting thrown into a bizarre adventure. 

Stone Ocean

This one took me a while to figure out an ability for. Since the song mentions “high speed”, “got to get away” and “don’t stop beating”, it would make sense for the stand to be some kind of fast and strong combat stand, but I was getting stuck on coming up with an ability.

I though of “Moving through stone like an ocean”, but that sounds just like [Oasis], and I want that.

So eventually I settled on this:

[Stone Ocean] has the power to merge with it’s user giving them all the abilities of a stand: invisibility to non-stand users, select intangibility, and the inability be harmed by anything that is not as stand. So a mix of combat and stealth ability, but it is only really effective against non-stand users.

Heaven’s Falling Down 

(One last Shoutout to my “JoJo Friend” who helped come up with the initial ability which I then expanded upon.)

This stand can read a person’’s immediate future, which can be changed through the user.

This is different form king crimson’s epitaph since rather then showing a generalized future, or their own, it shows specific potential futures for specific people. And through the actions of the user, these potential futures can be changed.

This works as a parallels the song in an interesting way. Pucci’s version of heaven is a universe where everyone is aware of the actions they take, but are unable to change them. 

The user of heaven’s falling down can perceive the actions others will take ahead of time, but is able to change them by taking action, subverting the concept of heaven, or making it “Fall Down”. 

The phrase “Destiny is Mine” comes to mind….

As for the user themselves, their stand is both a manifestation and a counter to their extreme social anxiety. 

On one hand, being able to see what other people are going to do helps the user conform to social expectations, on the other hand, having no way to predict your own future means that anxiety will never truly go away. 

These stands are all pretty developed, if there was one thing I actually needed help with, it would be their specific designs. I have rough ideas, but not enough to actually draw any of them (which I want to do eventually)

also, if I can give a small suggestion: what if to make Stone Ocean a bit more powerful and to tie in with the "high speed" and "got to get away" aspects of the lyrics, when under the affects it gives them a bit of a speed boost? nothing crazy, but enough to make them a bit of a difficult target to hit

also I'd absolutly LOVE to hear your thoughts for the outro songs, these were all awesome so the fact that there's MORE 👀
