8) What’s the fastest time you’ve finished a fic?

oooh it was definitely Old and Guiltridden. That series aired November 11th and I posted the completed one-shot the 24th.... there wasn't even a tag for Transformers:E on Ao3 yet 😭 I think I crunched it out in under a week? Even for a one-shot that was fucking FAST jesums christmas

14) Rewrite a scene from your WIP from another character’s perspective.

A little sneak peak for chapter 5 of "Nights aren't so bad with you"....

Luis shot straight up, and before he could fully processes it, was on his feet. He ran into the hall.

Someone had screamed his name. Leon did.

There was something wrong; If Leon was calling for his help, of all people… His heart thundered in his ears. Shit, should he have grabbed the knife under his bed? Luis didn’t have time to ponder it further as his legs rushed his out the door.

He nearly tripped around the corner going into the living room.

Everything was normal. With the glaring exception of Leon.

Leon was still on the couch, in the same place he had fallen asleep that afternoon.

Without his glasses, Leon was a blurr of pale white in the dark, but the sounds he was making were on mistakable. He was sobbing, uncontrollably so. He was nearly coughing over himself, getting his breath caught between hiccups.

“Leon?!” Luis yelled it, but he didn’t mean to.

Leon buried his head in his arms about as fast as Luis had ran into the room. He tried to force some sound together, but all Leon managed was a string of hiccups.

Another nightmare.

As terrible as it was, Luis let himself sigh. This was something he could at least attempt handling.

“Hey. Hey, you’re okay,” Luis said. He sat next to Leon and wrapped an arm around his shoulder. Leon didn’t pull away, which was a probably good sign.

“I’m fine.” Leon managed this time around. He said it slow, like he had to force his mouth to make all of the right sounds. He immediately got caught on another sob.

“Yes you are.” Luis agreed. “Everything’s okay.”

Under the arm Luis had around him, Leon was shaking. His back was tense, as if he was trying to physically restrain his body out of crying. It wasn’t going to work. Whatever this was, Leon was overflowing with it. Christ, Leon’s open mouth was pressed into his forearm in some poor attempt to muffle the sound he was making.

The thought to carry Leon to the bedroom he just left crossed his mind, or maybe to spend the night in Leon’s bed instead. Being in the same room seemed to help last time. But he couldn’t. Even if his back allowed it, there was no way he could lift a man as dense as Leon off the ground, let alone into another room.

So much for Luis the romantic.

Still, Luis couldn’t keep his hands to himself. He had to help somehow.

With his open hand, Luis cupped Leon’s face. He was hot, almost burning to the touch. Whether it was exhaustion or something else, Leon didn’t recoil. He just shook and continued to sob. That was all the sign he needed. Just once, Luis wiped at the stream of tears pouring from Leon with his thumb. This earned him Leon fully revealing his face; a pair of blue eyes stared back at him now.

Leon’s eyes were saturated with tears. They were red; both from crying and from rubbing them in an attempt to make it all stop. At this point, Leon’s sobbing was still nowhere near done. Leon couldn’t even close his mouth. His jaw hung open as his chin and lower lip trembled. He was still coughing on his own noises, and was too focused on trying to make them stop to notice the tears or mucus leaking from his face. But he noticed Luis’s hand. Leon pressed into it. Leon pressed in Luis’s palm and he whimpered.

It was the saddest, weakest little whimper Luis had ever heard. Luis barely even registered it. But the little whimper was distinctly a break from the choking sobs Leon had been making. Shit. Luis blinked a few times. Was he going to cry now? No. No! Luis bit his lower lip and forced a bit a resolve.

Something like a little noise and head twitch meant nothing in a moment like this. Tears and sad sounds went hand in hand. But Luis felt his chest flutter nonetheless.

“You’re okay big guy,” Luis soothed. “Just let it out.”

He continued to clean Leon’s face, keeping his hand on the man’s cheek, but letting his thumb wander. Luis found he favored the soft skin under Leon’s cheek bone-- that’s where the tears liked to fall, following the curve of his nose.

“Everything’s okay.” Luis promised.

This was really fun, I might come back to this at another time. I just really wanted to answer this ask in a decent time frame, but fuck!!! Rewriting this scene from Luis's POV fucking rocked. I think I need to bounce over the the OG with Leon and retool a few things....I had a fucking blast, 10/10 recommend doing this to your own WIPS.

30) Share a fun fact you’ve learned while writing your WIP.

This one is also for Nights aren't so bad with you! I"m doing some research for a potential creature and was collecting some photos for some inspiration. One of the pictures I was searching out was the Amarok from the Secret Saturdays, which was a cartoon I was obsessed with as a kid (I actually have a decent sized WIP I go to every once in a while with that's an OC ship with the uncle Doyle, who I had a huge fucking crush on because he's a punk beefcake but I digress) This was the image I was searching for!

But! On my journey, I discovered the Amarok was not in fact a cool wolf cryptid made up for a children's TV show! Maybe it was a folk story used in poor taste (I don't remeber, it's been a good over ten years since I've touched this show) I'm struggling to find sources outside of a single few sentences most websites seem to share from a Dutch man's initial book about the topic, but Amarok seems to be an amalgamation of several different Inuit community's translations of "wolf". Sometimes it translates plain out to the word wolf, other times it is a wolf-like creature. When I have a chance, I want to dig into this futher if I can. Folk stories are a favorite of mine and it *appears* that the Amarok as the internet understands it is in fact a Frakenstein's monster of stolen stories, mistranlations, and possibly religious beliefs being told as legend in poor taste. I don't know if anyone else is as interested as I am. but this is the kind of rabbit hole I love falling down

Happy [Incredibly late] Valentines Day !!! Decided to do a trio of illustrations as I’ve done in previous years of diff forms of love!! Its only 3 but heres the list:

Sundew & Willow -> Romantic Love [They’re a classic! First queer POV’s and impactful ones for me!! They’re sweet together <3]

Qibli & Ostrich -> Familial Love [they are Cousins to me!!! Adopted family who are very protective of each other]

Turtle & Peril -> Platonic Love [Their friendship is so nice to me!! I don’t ship them at all - the heart motif is just used to symbolize love!!!! Also Turtles scales are canonically “as strong as diamonds” so him & Peril can make physical contact without Turtle getting burnt lmao]
