TimBer Week 2023 Prompt Voting is now open!

Holy cow! You all knocked prompt submissions out of the park! We've done our best to condense down the honestly astounding number of submissions into a nice list for you to vote on.

So now comes the next step, voting for the prompts you would like to see!

Voting will remain open from Midnight May 7th UTC-12, until Midnight May 14th UTC-12, at which point we will work as fast as we can to get out the selected prompts so people can make a head start on their contributions!

We will be selecting 3 prompts per day for both the SFW and NSFW lists, and hopefully also be able to provide a list of alternatives if none of the main selections strike your fancy on a given day.

Timberweek 2021 is a go baybeeee! (Me? Already behind on my own event? It’s more likely than you think akshdj 😂) Delays aside, I’m happy to finally have this piece finished and ready to show ✨ 

Day 1 of Timberweek had 2 prompts to choose from-High School Days and Childhood Friends au-and I’m a sucker for childhood friends so I couldn’t resist going with that one! It’s fun to think about how Tim and Bernard may have bonded over their shared love of Batman and Robin if they’d met as children, and the wild theories and stories they may have come up with together! And so I present to you, a couple of bois doodling their favorite superheroes together~ (Bernard’s piece comes with a whole backstory about Batman being a sentient colony of bats that controls shadows and Robin is a shooting star that fell to earth and took human form that now teams up w/ Batman to bring light to Gotham-Tim listens with rapt attention!)

Some of you may actually recognize this concept/these sketches-I posted about them before a little bit ago, and theyre actually what inspired me to add “childhood friends au” as a prompt for the Timberweek list! Super happy this gave me a chance to finally flesh out the idea a bit more hehe We’ve truly come full circle 😌🙏 I hope you guys like it too! (You can check out the original post/sketches here!)

As the last day of Timberweek 2021 draws to a close, I just wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has participated! Everyone has made such wonderful work, and I couldn’t be happier that we could all come together and have fun creating content to celebrate Tim and Bernard’s relationship!

Though the designated week for the event is ending, please feel free to continue using/filling the prompts as you’d like on your own schedule! For all those who will be posting their work past today, you can still tag the blog (@timber-week) and use the event tag “timberweek2021”-we’ll be keeping our eyes out for any and all entries posted and sharing them here, so don’t feel discouraged from participating due to any delays! (I myself fell a bit behind and will be finishing my prompt fills in the coming weeks haha)

Once again, thanks so much to everyone who expressed interest in the creation of an event like this and to everyone who has participated so far-It’s been such a lovely experience and I hope everyone had fun!

TimBern Week 2023 Rules and FAQ

General rules • NO SHAMING OR HARASSING OTHER CREATORS. No matter what metric, be it ships, tropes or something else, if an author makes something you don't like, you're more than free to click away and move on with your life. We won't tell. • If you're under 18, we ask that you please don't post anything NSFW • Be kind, and be respectful.

Relevant tags • We will be using #TimBerWeek2023 for this!

When is the Event? • The event will run from 23 July 2023 (Sunday) until 29 July 2023 (Saturday)

How do I participate? • You make whatever it is you want to submit for the prompt, and add the work to the Ao3 collection, and/or tag us on tumblr with TimBernWeek2023 and whatever day the submission is relevant for!

What happens if I post late? • We won't close the Ao3 collection after the event has closed, but we will stop sharing the content posted to other platforms.

What ships are allowed? • As long as Tim/Bernard is the main focus of the fic, you can add in whatever background ships you like. You can also choose to write Tim/Bernard as a part of a larger polycule (such as TimBerKon), where the pairing is still present and relevant!

Can I write NSFW content? • You can if you want, but you don't have to! If you want to write something that starts out as not NSFW, but a shiny idea suddenly strikes your fancy? Go for it! Just make sure it's tagged appropriately! • Additionally, if you see a SFW prompt and think it'd be just perfect for that smut idea that's been bouncing through your brain, go forth and write the shiny!

Does it have to be a written fic? • No, if you want to make a podfic, or draw, or approach these prompts from some other creative angle, go for it! The event has been designed with fanfiction and fanart in mind, but if you want to approach it from another angle, who are we to put a stop to the creativity?

Do the works have to be stand-alone? • They don't, if you want to put all the prompts into one fic, or use the prompts to make new works in a long running series, those sound great!
