WIP Wednesday
Well the first thing Iâm working on are the ask and tag games Iâm behind on đ
đđ thank you so much to those that tag me, I genuinely love doing them and reading yours! đĽ°đĽ°
I'm still hesitatingly working through the next chapters of Safest with You; some have suspected that Ch. 19 is gonna hurt... yeah:
He drinks from you like a parched man in the desert who knows what heâs found is a mirage, but itâs as good to a desperate man as an oasis so he has more than his fill while the fantasy lasts.
On the fluffier side, another instalment of The Rockford Portfolio is nearly ready to go (maybe tonight?):
Studying the earnestness in his eyes and the softening of his normally steely countenance, you believe him and whisper back, âOkay.â The smile that breaks out across Timâs face is nothing short of mesmerizing, warming you through and through â though you see it only for a moment before his mouth descends upon yours.
I'm also so behind on my fic reading - Imma dedicate some time to reading y'alls amazing work đĽš
NPT to some super cuties: @joelmillerisapunk @milla-frenchy @aurorawritestoescape @kteague

[ Wardrobe Status: Nothing / Wearing Wadeâs Clothes ]
The first morning he wakes up in Wadeâs timelineâhis new universeâLogan has on nothing but a t-shirt with the sleeves ripped off and a pair of highlighter pink Hello Kitty boxers. He desperately needs something to wear aside from what are basically undergarments because he came into this world with nothing but his X-Men suit.
Or whatâs left of it anyway.
Which is why, once he finally gets up from the pull-out bed, he sees Wade trying on the jacket that the TVA gave him after they destroyed the Time Ripper. Wade is in front of the only full-size mirror in the apartment, twisting his body every which way to inspect the jacket.
Then, he catches Loganâs reflection in the mirror.
âMorning, peanut!â he greets, turning around to face him with a smile. âIâm trying this on to see how it fits on me.â
âUh, yeah. I see that,â Logan says with brows furrowed. âWhy?â
âI was thinking about grabbing you some clothes but need a reference for your size.â
âBub, that jacket is too big even for me.â
â...okay, yeah,â Wade eventually concedes, âbut itâs the only thing you own that isnât shredded to pieces from the Time Ripper.â
Unfortunately, the moron has a point. As it is, the boxers Wade loaned him are a bit tight on his waist, and the collar of the shirt is snug on his neck, but itâs not like Loganâs in any position to complain.
âI have to swing by Target to grab supplies for Dogpool anyway,â Wade continues before making kissy faces at the dog in question. âWe need to get you some treats, huh, little missy? Yeah! And then weâll get honey badger some clothes that actually fit him!â
And, well, itâs not like Logan is keen on stepping outside of this apartment in the brightest colour heâs ever worn in his over 200-year existence. Itâs also not like he even has the funds to buy himself a hotdog from the street vendor around the corner, much less purchase anything for a new wardrobe. So if Wade wants to go out and buy some clothes for him, Logan isnât going to stop him.
He grunts his assent as he makes his way to the kitchen, muttering a gruff Fine as he starts on a cup of coffee.
Later, when Wade leaves for Target, Logan grabs the now tossed aside TVA jacket.
If he happens to take a sniff of it once Wadeâs out the door (inhaling the scent of cloyingly sweet body wash, hot sauce, and something Logan is fast recognizing as Wade), itâs simply because he wants to know whether it already stinks after yesterdayâs events.

[ Wardrobe Status: One Load of Staples ]
Luckily for Logan, Peter and Dopinder volunteered to help Wade clothes shop when he went to Target. Apparently, Wade wanted to buy all sorts of brightly coloured cutesy shitâlike much of his own clothing, allegedly so the two of them could matchâbut Peter and Dopinder manage to rein him in and grab a few staples. T-shirts, jeans, sweatpants, boxers, socks, and a pair of shoes thatâll fall apart in about a month if Logan has to guess.
Itâs enough for him to survive on until he can buy more clothes, and enough to produce a load of laundry once the day arrives. Luckily, the apartment has a washer-dryer combo in the unit, so he finishes the single, meagre load of clothes he owns in no time. Heâs bringing them to the bedroom to put away when he finds Wade already inside, standing there in nothing but the smallest pair of tighty-whities Loganâs ever seen on a man.
âWhat the fuck,â is all he can say.
âHey, honey badger!â Wade greets, normal as ever, as if heâs not exposing miles of skin and taut muscle that Logan would love toâ
He messily dumps his clothes onto the bed, scowling at Wade.
âWhy the fuck are you naked?â he demands.
âOh, please, Iâm hiding all the goods,â Wade brushes him off. He turns back to the heap of clothes on the hamper, presumably to find something that doesnât smell like wet dog or weeks old nastiness.
Shit. The damn briefs arenât even large enough to completely cover Wadeâs ass, and Logan can see a hint of cheeks peeking through.
âFuckinâ hell.â Logan rolls his eyes, hoping that his frown hides the conflict inside him.
With a smirk that can only spell trouble, Wade faces him again to thumb at the waistband of his underwear. âWould you rather I take them off?â
Logan snarls, averting his gaze to the small mound of clothes he has to put away. He angrily starts folding things, breath coming out in huffs that he hopes convey annoyance.
âJeez, who pissed in your coffee this morning, kitty cat?â Wade complains, letting go of the waistband. âItâs not like Iâm rubbing one out in front of you.â
âShut the fuck up, bub,â Logan spits, throwing down another folded shirt.
The problemâlike most thingsâis because of Wade.
Itâs hard enough to share any amount of space with him, much less sleep in the same bed together every night, and Loganâs only a man. He might be too proud to admit it out loud (especially to a blabber mouth like Wade), but god fucking damnit somehow the fuckerâs gotten under his skin. He makes Logan crave for more than innocently spooning in the early hours of the morning, want more than stolen glances when he thinks Wade isnât looking.
It doesnât help that Wade flirts with him constantly. People used to chastise Logan for how aggressively he pursued Jean back in the day. Now, he knows itâs nothing compared to the constant boner Wade has towards anything that speaks to him.
Logan needs to stop this train of thoughtâthinking about Wadeâs boner is only going encourage his own.
âSo, why are you naked?â he asks, probably angrier than acceptable for a conversation like this but, fuck, does Wade bring out the asshole in him.
âTechnically, Iâm notââ
âFine, almost naked, you annoying prick.â
He looks up to find Wade with narrowed eyes, shooting him a dubious look that can only say, Are you serious?
âObviooouslyyy,â he drawls out, rifling through the hamper again, âI thought I had more clothes left.â
Logan looks at the mountain Wadeâs digging through. âWait, youâre completely out of clean clothes? How the fuck did that happen?â
âI donât know!â Wade throws his hands up in exasperation. âAsk the author!â
âI have no idea what that means,â he admits. âAnyway, why are you only in underwear?â
âWhat? You want me to steal some of Blind Alâs shit?â Wade pauses then, clearly mulling it over. âActually, now that I think about it, her tracksuits would look great on me. Theyâd fit like baby clothes on a high schooler but it could be like a Y2K revival. Juicy Couture Ă la Wade. Iâd smell like mothballs and old lady all day but itâd be worth it, I think!â He ends the rambling with a toothy grin.
Logan doesnât dignify that with a response. He scrubs a hand over his face with a sigh.
âJust... put on some damn clothes, bub.â
âFine.â
Wadeâprobably in an attempt to piss him the fuck off, as usualâstares at him with a piercing gaze, maintaining eye contact with Logan as he grabs a white t-shirt from the folded pile and slides it on.
Logan just glares at him, jaw clenching tight.
The worst part is that heâs not even mad that Wadeâs grabbing shit that he just folded. For some fucking reason, thereâs a small but very loud part of Logan deeply satisfied to see Wade in his clothes again. He hasnât worn anything of Loganâs since trying on the TVA jacket that first day home, but seeing him in one of Loganâs tees is apparently doing something for him.
Wade spins in place, and Logan notices that the hem of the t-shirt barely covers Wadeâs crotch, skims the peak of Wadeâs pert ass. Once he faces Logan again, he pinches the sides of the shirt like heâs holding a skirt, dipping into a small curtsy.
âIs that better, oh, prudent majesty?â he taunts.
Logan finally snaps.
Before heâs even conscious of it, heâs striding over to where Wade is still staring at him, his expression turning confused though still playful.
âWoah, big boy, I didnât think youâd be that pissedââ
Logan grabs his face and cuts him off with a kiss, Wade making a surprised noise against his mouth before finally kissing back. Even though Logan is leading, Wade still gives as good as gets, his tongue darting into the cavern of Loganâs mouth when he gasps for air. Heâs not sure how long they suck face for, but when Logan finally pulls away, a satisfied noise rumbles through his chest at Wadeâs stunned but amused face.
âFinally got you to shut up,â Logan teases, words coming out shallow and thin.
âOh, itâll take a lot more than that, old man,â Wade quips back, and another purr builds in Loganâs chest when he hears the gravel in Wadeâs voice. Wade throws his arms over Loganâs shoulders and crashes their lips together again.
Neither of their laundry gets finished for a long while after that, both of them too caught up in seeking pleasure from each other. Most of Loganâs freshly laundered clothes lie wrinkled on the bed for hours until he remembers to put them away. Wade doesnât even start on his own laundry until Logan tells him that Althea would definitely kick his ass if he wore her stuff.
But he continues wearing Loganâs shirt until his own clothes are finally clean, so Logan canât complain at all.

[ Wardrobe Status: Half Complete + A New Suit ]
Theyâre suiting up for an X-Men mission when Wade snatches the Wolverine cowl before Logan can put it on. Heâs still in the middle of zipping up when he spots Wade grabbing it out of the corner of his eye, and he doesnât even need to turn around to know that the dipshitâs already wearing it.
âGive it back,â he says absentmindedly, buckling in the last straps of his suit.
He turns around and shoots Wade a flat look, correct in his assumption that Wade put it on. Typical Wade, heâs wearing his Deadpool mask underneath the Wolverine cowl.
âHow do I look?â Wade asks, voice lilting with anticipation.
He looks like someone threw up primary colours on his head and decided to call it a mask.
âYou look like someone threw up primary colours on your head and decided to call it a mask.â
Wade gasps, clearly offended. âRude!â
Logan rolls his eyes. âJust hand me my fuckinâ cowl, bub.â
âMmmmm, no.â
He never makes shit easy. Logan can only sigh.
âWade, we gotta leave for the mission brief,â Logan reminds him. Theyâre about to leave on time for once, and that never happens. âGimme my goddamn cowl.â
Wade ignores him, as he often does, sauntering over to Logan with a sway in his hips, and Logan quirks a brow at him. He knows what that walk means, and suddenly heading to the X-Mansion for a mission is becoming the last thing on his mind.
Wade drapes his arms over Loganâs shoulders, and Logan automatically places his hands on Wadeâs hips. Even beneath both masks, Logan can tell that Wade is waggling his non-existent eyebrows at him once theyâre pressed close together. âWanna inspect the wind resistance on these blowjob handles yourself, peanut?â
Logan snorts. âNo, because I donât wanna see my own mask sucking my dick.â
âAww,â Wade whines, and Logan can hear the pout in his voice even if he canât see it, âyouâre no fun!â
ââSides,â Logan murmurs in his ear, low and sultry, as he pulls Wade closer, âI like seeing your face when weâre together, bub.â
He moves a hand from Wadeâs waist to slightly lift his Deadpool mask at the collar. He then ducks his face into the curve where Wadeâs neck meets shoulder, mouthing at the now exposed skin there. He smirks when he feels the catch in Wadeâs throat.
âI thought we had to leave for the mission brief?â Wade mocks, but it comes out breathy and very pleased by the turn of events.
Logan hums mischievously, nipping at Wadeâs neck. âDonât give a shit anymore.â
âCool cool cool,â Wade babbles, body pressing against Loganâs, all hot and eager. âI justâoh, fuck, honey badgerâI was just thinkingââ
âIf yer thinking, then I ainât doinâ this right,â he grumbles, words starting to slur together because thereâs something else heâd much rather be doing with his mouth. The hand he still has on Wadeâs waist travels to his crotch. Wade bucks his hips into Loganâs open palm with a husky groan, already half-hard.
âYouâre doing everything so, so right,â Wade gasps, hips rutting into his grip. âItâs justânghâyou better be the one taking off this suit, because I did not spend five whole minutes and half a thing of baby powder squeezing my ass into it just toâoh, shit!âstrip it off again.â
With a final lick to his pulse point, Logan pulls away just enough to look at Wade. He smirks at the way Wade is panting, puffs of breath hitting his face in needy bursts despite the fabric covering Wadeâs mouth.
âI gotta take off your clothes?â he confirms. Wade nods jerkily. âSânot a problem with me.â
And he drops to his knees, unbuckling Wadeâs utility belt to do just that.
They do eventually get to the X-Mansionâjust 30 minutes late, and they completely miss the briefing. Colossus looks at both of them in disappointment when he relays the abridged version of the mission objectives while they fly to their destination on the X-Jet. Frankly, Logan only half listens to the giant, completely unapologetic in his lack of focus. Being distracted is well worth it as he mulls over the events of the past hour.
Because Logan discovers that, while he might not get off on seeing his own cowl blowing him, he doesnât mind when heâs on his knees looking up to see it thrown back in pleasure.
At least as long as Wadeâs the one wearing it.

[ Wardrobe Status: Signature Items Acquired ]
The next time they leave together, itâs to meet Vanessa and Dermot for bowling. Loganâs ready before Wade is, waiting in the living room because apparently how long it takes Wade to decide on an outfit completely depends on how heâs feeling.
Thankfully, today isnât too awful. Heâd only worn the Deadpool mask in the morning because he, quote, âfelt like skewered chicken intestines,â and nearly cancelled on bowling altogether. But after an orgasm from Logan and cuddling from Mary Puppins, his mood had turned around.
All of which means that Wade is now in a mad dash pulling an outfit together. Logan knows better than to try and help him or force him to hurry up, so heâs left on the couch quietly grumbling to Mary about how he thinks Wade looks good in basically everything he wears.
Heâs proven absolutely right when Wade finally steps out of the bedroom. Logan barely registers the full outfit because heâs completely focused on one item.
âHow do I look?â Wade asks with a sly grin, walking over to the mirror to inspect himself. He twirls in front of his reflection while smoothing down the leather of the jacket heâs wearing.
Loganâs jacket.
Heâs unable to put words together with the way his brain is currently short-circuiting. He grunts in response anyway, knowing that Wade will keep talking even if he doesnât reply verbally.
Heâs proven right yet again because Wade continues without missing a beat. âYou think I should switch styles? Give yours back and get my own? Jackets arenât really my thing though... Oh! What if I got a cape instead? Itâd help for âno capesâ AUs to actually shed a cape, huh? Has there ever been a DP with a cape? I donât remember seeing one when we fought the Corps.â
He hums a contemplative sound as Logan stands up from the couch, making his way over to Wade.
âMaybe I need to test trial this,â he continues to ramble, âmaybe I can borrow Cableâs shawl-cape thing!â
Even Logan is surprised when he immediately interrupts Wadeâs babbling with a stern: âNo.â
Wadeâs eyes snap to his, confused by the sudden harshness and increased volume in his tone. He makes a questioning noise and shoots Logan a displeased look.
Remembering that Wade will only ramp up how annoying he is if Logan bosses him around, he shakes his head and tries again. âI mean, justâyou can, uh, keep mine.â
He clears his throat, eyes darting away to take in how the jacket fits on Wade. Itâs a little loose on him, a little too broad because Loganâs chest is a bit wider than his, but it sits well on his frame nonetheless. After awkwardly patting Wade on the shoulder, Loganâs hand slides to Wadeâs bicep, then down to cuff where Logan thumbs at the leather there. His fingers bump Wadeâs hand and he feels electrified by the touch.
When their eyes meet again, Loganâs relieved to find Wadeâs face as red as his own cheeks feel. Heâs not entirely sure who leans in first but their lips meet halfway. The kiss isnât demanding or dirty, neither of them trying to turn it into something that would lead to sex for once. Itâs different from when they usually make out, just soft and lingering, and Wade gasps when Loganâs tongue gently licks at the seam of his lips.
At some point, they wrap their arms around each other, because when they finally part for air Wadeâs cupping Loganâs jaw and his hands are on the small of Wadeâs back.
He eventually grumbles out, âKeep it, it suits you.â
âOh.â
It takes a moment for Wade to shake the dazed look off his face, but he recovers by flashing Logan a knowing grin. Logan rolls his eyes fondly.
Of course, the little shit did it on purpose. He shouldâve known the moment Wade stepped out with that giant smile.
Afterwards, when they finally meet with Vanessa and Dermot at the bowling alley, Vanessaâs smirk and raised eyebrow are well worth it because Wade keeps the jacket on.
â¤ď¸đâ¤ď¸đâ¤ď¸đâ¤ď¸đâ¤ď¸đ
[ Wardrobe Status: Full Closet ]
Loganâs been gone for almost a month because of an extended X-Men mission. Between stakeouts, recon, strategizing, and actually nabbing the bad guy, itâs the longest heâs been away since Wade and Altheaâs apartment became his home.
He walks in and unceremoniously dumps his duffle bag and the rest of shit by his shoes, throwing his keys on the sidetable by the door. Despite it being well into the afternoon, the apartment is surprisingly quiet. He figures Althea is out for âbingoâ (likely a coke exchange) but Wade and Mary Puppinsâ lack of noise makes him suspicious.
Until he hears the snoring.
He pads over to the pull-out bed to find Wade and Mary napping together. Wadeâs curled around her, snoring with his face buried in her very sparse amount of fur, and Maryâs tongue sticks out as she huffs out quiet, little snuffles of her own.
But what catches Loganâs attention is Wade wearing one of his flannels.
Itâs one of the thickest he owns, made for colder weather and blistery autumn breezes, a dusty yellow and blue with snap buttons. Itâs large on himâlike everything else Logan owns whenever Wade wears his clothesâbut this particular flannel is loose on Logan, so the fabric almost drowns Wade in a pattern of faded checks.
And like every time the moron steals his crap to wear, Loganâs stomach flips in a way he can no longer ignore.
Heâs not sure if theyâre exclusive or not. They fall into bed together as easily as they fight side-by-side on missions. But itâs impossible for Logan to tell if Wade is serious about half the flirtations streaming out of his mouth when the idiotâs easy affection gets directed at anyone that looks at him twice.
And as much as heâs loathe to admit it, Logan wants so much more than that. He wants Wadeâs lingering looks to mean something other than platonic nothings. He wants the softer kisses they share to be more than a break from sex. He wants Wade to need him the way Logan needs him. Hell, he wants Wade to annoy him in ways that Wade would never bother anyone else, because at least then Logan would know that he means something different to the motherfucker, something more than a roommate he hooks up with.
He wants just Wade, all of him, full stop.
He gingerly sits on the mattress, trying not to jostle the two napping Deadpools too much with his weight, and he reaches over to gently stroke Wadeâs cheek with a thumb. Feeling emboldened when Wade doesnât stir, he leans down to press his lips onto Wadeâs forehead.
âWell, gâmorning to yâtoo, honey badger,â Wade slurs at him, voice thick with sleep.
Logan abruptly jerks away, eyes wide, and the movement is enough to jostle Mary Puppins from her slumber. She hops off to nap in her own bed after a grumpy growl, leaving Wade alone on the mattress. He attempts to swallow the sudden lump in his throat before clearing it with a cough.
âSâfour in the afternoon,â Logan mumbles. Pinching his lips into a flat line, he awkwardly sits next to Wade rustling around in the sheets. His eyes catch the flannel falling open to reveal that Wade is also wearing one of his tank tops.
Logan takes a deep, stuttering breath.
Eyes still closed, Wade blindly flaps his hand around until finding purchase on Loganâs shirt. He tugs Logan back down, and Logan curls over to kiss him softly.
âWelcome home, peanut,â Wade breathes onto his lips. âMissed you.â
He touches his nose to Wadeâs. âMissed ya too, bub.â
Wadeâs face splits into a slow, easy grin, pulling Logan into laying down. Logan follows him without a thought, gathering Wade into his arms.
âYouâre wearinâ my clothes again,â he whispers.
Wade hums, nuzzling into his chest. âSâcold, and it smells like you.â
A pleased purr escapes Logan before he has a chance to stop it, and Wade giggles at him, kissing his collarbone before falling right back to sleep.
They donât talk about what they are after that, but itâs at that moment when Logan finally realizes that maybe, somehow, Wade feels the same way about him too.
â¤ď¸đâ¤ď¸đâ¤ď¸đâ¤ď¸đâ¤ď¸đ
[ Wardrobe Status: Wearing Wadeâs Clothes (Again) ]
The TVA brings them in because they need help with some lady going after Deadpool variants. It would be a fruitless endeavour since Deadpools canât die (well, except Nicepool) if it werenât for the fact that the fucker apparently stole a weapon that disintegrates things to oblivion.
âShouldnât the law of physics stop that from happening?â Wade asks, gesturing at the screen when B-15 presents the mission to them. ââMatter canât be created or destroyedâ or something like that?â
âThatâs energy, idiot,â Logan corrects him.
Wade just shrugs. âHey, donât blame me for failing physics twice!â
He turns to Wade with a confused grimace. âWho else would I blame then?â
âThe teachers, duh!â
âAnyway,â B-15 interrupts, hitting a button to show another slide, âthis variantâs got a fascination for destroying the indestructible, but sheâs going after Deadpools because she has tritanopia, or blue-yellow colour blindness. She can see shades of red the easiest, hence, sticking with Deadpools as her target.â
âThatâs so stupid,â Wade says and Logan can only agree. âThere are, like, dozens immortal superheroes in red and she chooses liâl ole me? Seems like the writer copping out of coming up with a better plot, I-M-O.â
âWe also believe Mary was double-crossed by the Deadpool in her timeline, giving further motive to go after his variants.â
âHmph! Now isnât that just convenient?â He crosses his arms. âWait, âMaryâ?â
âYes.â B-15 shows another slide, this one a close-up of the womanâMaryâsâface. âSheâs a Typhoid Mary variant. Have either of you encountered her before?â
âNot in my world,â Logan answers.
âI admittedly did not keep up with Netflixâs Daredevil long enough to meet Bloody Mary, no,â Wade says.
B-15 presents them with further details: Typhoid Maryâs known abilities and weaknesses; how she has dissociative identity disorder on top of her colour blindness; how she managed to acquire the worst weapon available from the arms dealers she was supposed to take down; how her alter apparently took over and decided to go after invincible mutants until she finally got even with her worldâs Deadpool. The TVA did try to intervene, but she ended up killing every agent that went after her before stealing one of their TemPads and consequently going on her multiversal manhunt. B-15 makes it absolutely clear how imperative it is that they do not kill Mary or destroy the weapon so the TVA can keep them both under tabs.
Then, she reveals the TVAâs plan to capture her: They want Logan to pose as a Deadpool variant in the timeline they believe sheâs going to strike next. Typhoid Maryâs current M.O. doesnât account for superstrength so he should be able to break out of anything she traps him in. Meanwhile, Wade will be in the shadows, using a tranquillizer gun to incapacitate her once sheâs busy with Logan.
Logan groans internally while Wade claps his hands in delight.
âOoh!â he practically squeals, patting Logan on the shoulder with unrestrained excitement. âFinally, itâs my turn on the other side of this trope!â
B-15 shakes her head and sends them on their way.
The suit the TVA provides him fits perfectly, and he notes Wadeâs heated, lingering gaze on him once he steps out of the dressing room. Luckily, another agent gets them through a portal before Wade starts on a tirade that would no doubt be filled with inappropriate innuendoes about Logan.
The mission is executed almost laughably easy. Typhoid Maryâs telekinetic and telepathic abilities are so low-level Loganâs shocked that the others she went after were able to be taken down so quickly.
(âPlot armour, peanut,â Wade said when Logan had asked B-15 about this. âShe needed to last long enough to meet us!â As usual, Logan had chosen to ignore him.)
Like the TVA discovered, she lures Deadpools by spreading rumours he canât ignore, adding a honeypot stash filled with weapons he loves. Geared up in Wadeâs suit, Logan âfallsâ for her trap: entering an abandoned warehouse meant to shelter an upcoming gang targeting Deadpool, but secretly only houses her. Once Logan finds the crate of weapons meant to entice Wade, Typhoid Mary wastes no time in capturing him. She points a giant ray-gun of sorts at his face after wrapping him in the warehouseâs chains with her telekinesis.
He feels the faintest compulsion to stay still, which is probably her telepathy trying to subdue him. But sheâs nowhere near the level of other telepaths Loganâs encountered, like Jean or Cassandra Nova, and the compulsion is easy to ignore. The chains are slightly harder to deal with in comparison, but heâs certain he can get out of them without too much trouble. Out of the corner of his eye, he catches Wade moving into place.
During Loganâs silent assessment of the situation, Typhoid Mary apparently began monologuing. He doesnât let her get a chance to finish though, breaking out of the bonds around his torso with sheer force and grunting at the exertion. He slices the chains around his ankles with his claws, the metal cutting like butter against the adamantium.
âWhat?!â she screams. âA Wolverine-Deadpool variant? How?!â
Logan doesnât even open his mouth for a reply because Wade shoots a tranq dart in her neck. She falls to the ground like a puppet with its strings cut.
âWooh! No scope oneshot K/O, baby!â he hollers, skipping over to pick up the weapon Typhoid Mary dropped. âGod, Iâd love to take this home with us,â he bemoans as he assesses it, âI can finally stick it to Cable and show off my own badass, futuristic gun!â
âThat wonât be necessary,â B-15 announces, suddenly next to them. A group of armed TVA agents begin to file in from the portal behind her, a few of them attempting to grab the weapon from Wade while others lift Typhoid Mary away for custody.
The aftermath of the mission would be just as easy if isnât for Wade bitching about giving up the gun. After B-15 debriefs them, she and Logan spend entirely too long demanding that Wade hand it to her.
âIâll give it back if we can keep this suit for pookie here,â Wade eventually offers, pointing at Logan.
âWhat?â Logan asks. The suitâs not bad but he has no reason to wear it again once he takes it off. âWhyâ?â
âDeal,â B-15 immediately agrees.
Wade begrudgingly relinquishes the gun, giving it a flying kiss goodbye before taking Loganâs hand. B-15 opens a portal to their apartment and guides them through. âThanks for the help, gentlemen!â she says, waving a hand at them. They both wave back, and the portal closes.
Logan looks down at the Deadpool suit heâs still wearing. âWhy the hell did you wantâmmph!â
His lips are suddenly bombarded with hot kisses, and he growls when Wade opens his mouth his tongue. He didnât even notice that Wade took off his mask.
âGod, you look so fucking good in my colours,â Wade moans, hands roaming all over Loganâs body. âIs this how you feel whenever I wear your things?â Logan makes a noise of assent, too busy mouthing at Wadeâs jaw to give a proper answer. âFuck, thatâs hot.â
Logan starts moving them towards the bedâChrist, he hopes Althea is gone because thereâs no way heâs stopping what Wadeâs started. His cock is already taking interest, and only gets harder when Logan bumps his hips into Wadeâs. They tumble onto the pull-out in a feverish heat with Logan straddling Wadeâs thighs.
Heâs licking at Wadeâs pulse when the dumbass gasps, âOh my god, Iâm gonna fuck a variant of myself.â
Used to Wadeâs non-stop yammering even during sex, Logan mindlessly replies, ââS still me, bub, I ainât a variant of you.â Foolishly, he adds, âBesides, thatâd be weird.â
âWhat? Why?â
With Wade groping his ass, Logan actually has to pause getting his hands under Wadeâs suit to think about an answer.
He finally lands on: âItâd be like fucking your own clone.â
Wade actually stops everything heâs doingâhands no longer kneading his cheeks, mouth pulling away from him. Logan groans, knowing his brought this on himself, and dips his forehead to rest on Wadeâs shoulder.
âWhat? You wouldnât?â
âNo, because thatâs weird.â
âIâd fuck my clone.â
âCourse you would.â
âT-B-H, Iâm so pro-clone fucking Iâd just have an orgy with all of them. Whoâd be better to fuck me than me, right?â
This, by far, is one ofâif not theâstupidest conversation Loganâs ever had with a person. Somehow, his dick doesnât flag, and heâs still irrevocably fond of Wadeâs random chatter. He kisses Wade before he can start on another tangent, cupping his perfect idiotâs face softly.
âShut the fuck up,â he says, but knowing the smile heâs got on, Wade isnât going to listen to him.
Wadeâs answering smirk is a challenge. âMake me, peanut.â

While we're in the prep phase for the Crusader...
...let's go through the Ideas Archive, explore the stuff that's shelved, canned or otherwise not happening right now. This'll be the new pinned post, so I'll use this as a place to put everything I'm currently working on, and what I might do at some point.
Current:
The Crusader, a mix of Burns Double Six, PRS CE24 and Rickenbacker 4001, combined with influences from Hamer, Gibson and Fender. Note: this build is currently in the wood prep phase (stripping pieces of mahogany and sapele door for use in the guitar body and neck) as of 21/11/2024, and will likely take a year at my current progression rate.
Shelved:
Fender Marauder Build (yes, I still want to do this. The Crusader evolved from this, so it's still on the cards)
Casino Humbucker Mod
G6122 Country Gentleman '62 Style
Crest Replica (NEW!)
Telecaster Bass VI (kit body, custom neck)
Lennon Les Paul Jr. Replica (kitbash)
HĂśfner Violin Bass from scratch
Canned:
Lerxst 355 Replica
Acoustic Rickenbacker 360/12C63
Telecaster-Shaped Red Special (TSRS)
Plausible:
A non-specific doubleneck.
Resonator acoustic (kit build)
Completed:
Fretless Stratocaster
Cherry XII/Tele-Shaped Rickenbacker (TSR)
So, let's review top to bottom.
The Crusader:
I don't need to explain this much, I've already made a long-ass post about this. As said above, it's a mix of a Burns Double Six, PRS CE24 and Rickenbacker 4001 combined with influences from Hamer, Gibson and Fender.
The design is set in stone, aside from the exaggeration of the upper horn. You'd understand if there was a picture around here of the Burns. In the meantime, I'll get on with describing the others.
Fender Marauder Build:
Not the wackiest idea here, not by a long shot. As previously described, the Marauder is the culmination of Fender's offset guitars, featuring the switching of a Jaguar, the lead-rhythm circuit of a Jazzmaster, parts of the trem system of a Mustang, modified to fit with the pickguard and general aesthetics of a Jag. It even gave the Starcaster, the only semi-hollow by my reckoning that Fender still produces, it's headstock, something Fender afficionados call the "running shoe", at least, that's what my aunt calls it. Considering the contour gets filled in by paint, it's not hard to see her point.
The issue with doing this one is that barely anyone does Marauder vibrato plates. And to do this from scratch? Yeah, I need to find someone who would do the specific metal pieces I'd need, that being the Jag-style metal plate for the lead-rhythm circuit, the switch plate for the pickup switches, the extra long control plate, and that Marauder vibrato plate.
Yeah, if I ever find somewhere that does metal parts out of aluminium or something, I'm gonna get them to do the metal parts of this. Next item on the list!
Casino Humbucker Mod:
This one should be self-explanatory - take an Epiphone Casino, stick some P90-sized humbuckers in there. The only caveat is that they have to be hidden and mounted via dogear P90 covers, which isn't too much of an ask; this guy in Manchester does custom pickups, even hand-winds them. Certainly sounds appealing, may go for those. Next one!
G6122 Country Gentleman:
Yeah, uh... this one's shelved with good reason.
For context, the G6122, more commonly known as the Country Gentleman, is one of Gretsch's most famous guitar models, up there with the Duo-Jet, the Tennessean (now Tennessee Rose) and the one that Malcolm Young gutted and modded for his purposes as the rhythm guitarist of AC/DC. Gretsch list it as the "Jet" but I have no clue if that's a different model to the Duo-Jet or it's a variation, or whatever.
My aim with this would be to make as accurate a recreation of the Country Gent as I could with the documentation and information present on the internet. That means making it with 3-ply maple veneer top, back and sides, utilisng the thumbnail inlays on an ebony fingerboard, slotted for 24.6" (24.75" if you measure from the middle of the nut), with the same style of tuner, the little plaque on the headstock, the vinyl/leather pad on the back of the body covering a backplate access hatch, and all around trying to recreate this mad thing.
The only downside is the cost, because I'd need to source TV Jones Filter'Trons (not hard), maple veneer (harder), Grover Imperials or lookalikes (very hard!), and figure out how to make a veneer press, and how to shape the slightly arched top and back in a 3-ply veneer, not to mention the Bigsby, all the spare parts, the flip-up foam mutes that Jimmie Webster came up with (and also patented).
In short, the entire project is shelved. For the foreseeable future, until I can source all this stuff myself. Onto the next one!
Crest Replica:
This is a new one, inspired by an admittedly newfound appreciation for the Gibson Crest.
...oh right, I should explain what that is.
The Gibson Crest, as a name, refers to 2 different models, respectively produced around the late 1950s to early 1960s and between 1969 and 1972, with a one-off model of the latter style produced in 1983 for that year's Winter NAMM show. Said model is in the possession of guitar collector and YouTuber Trogly, who runs the eponymous Trogly's Guitar Show on YouTube. At first, I thought he was a bit of a knob, or at least a bit naĂŻve, but as it turns out, his show's a good way to pass the time, and satiates the GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) that guitarists seem to get pretty damn often (as far as I know).
The former is estimated to have been produced a total of no more than six times, each custom orders put in by Gibson salesman-clinician and budding guitarist, Andy Nelson. Due to the nature of being entirely custom orders, no one knows the exact specs as they would obviously vary between examples as each guitarist would want something unique.
The body shape is assumed to be reminiscent of a similar model that Gibson were producing around this time: the L-5CT, that being a jazz archtop around the thickness of a Gibson Byrdland, but with a Venetian cutaway, a singular humbucker, a toggle switch next to the cutaway on "deluxe" models (models with 2 pickups as stock) and a trapeze tailpiece paired with a "floating" or freely moveable bridge.
One example of the original Crest, however, had a thinline single-cutaway body with a Florentine cutaway, as opposed to the Venetian cutaway of the L-5CT. It featured a carved spruce top, maple back and sides, with a 7-ply bound top, and a 3-ply bound back, as well as a pickguard made not of plastic, but of alternating dark and light plies of maple.
Now, that's interesting, because (and this is a personal side tangent because this guitar is so very unknown because of Google's overuse of SEO and keywords) the only other guitar Gibson produced with a wooden pickguard that I can think of is the Gibson The Les Paul, produced between 1976 and 1980, and that was only because the way Norlin-era Gison constructed these things, everything was either wooden or metal, with plastic being used as little and as sparingly as possible. The switch tip was rosewood, the binding for the body was rosewood, the veneer on the headstock was rosewood as opposed to holly, the knobs were rosewood, the pickup rings were rosewood. About the only thing I can find that wasn't wooden or metal is the inlays, which are actual abalone, and the binding for the headstock, which appears to be plastic, though this might not be the case.
Point is, the guitar was designed with one main principle in mind: "Can it be rosewood? Yes? Make it rosewood." That's why they now go for around ÂŁ35k and rarely ever sell.
But anyway back to the Nelson Crest. Yes, that's what I'm calling it, it's better than calling it Crest 1 or Crest Custom. The example I'm drawing from here had bound f-holes, was stained cherry red like most of the ES models around the time, and had an HS pickup layout, with the usual number of volume and tone controls, and a toggle switch in the usual mounting place for an ES model guitar, that being near the treble-side f-hole.
According to the source I'm getting all this from (an article on the Gruhn's Guitars website), it also had a Switchmaster tone switch and was wired for stereo output. The floating bridge, as it was an archtop, was mounted on a rosewood "foot" which was inlaid with mother-of-pearl decorations. The bridge itself, meanwhile, was your bog standard late '50s, early '60s Gibson ABR-1 without retaining wire for the saddles, while the tailpiece has the diamond ornamentation seen on a Casino/ES-330 while also incorporating a shield and coat-of-arms motif.
This motif is continued on the absolutely gigantic headstock, which had individual Grover Imperial tuners, and an inlay featuring a coat of arms with three Moorish crescents on the shield. The fretboard is given the top-level treatment of the era, as is to be expected of a custom build, with 3-ply binding all-around, and Super 400 inlays up to the 17th fret, unsurprising for an archtop. The truss rod cover, meanwhile, is a sort of merger between the typical shape for a Gibson, and the art deco movement which was starting up in the early '60s, with it being a trapezoid interpretation of the standard Gibson bell shape.
This is one of the few images I can find of the original style of Crest, in all its resplendent late 1950s glory:

As you can see, it's basically everything I mentioned above, down to the cherry red stain.
So, that's the Nelson Crest, in all of its custom and stupidly insane glory. It'd be an interesting challenge to replicate that thing, but that's not the one I want to replicate, not by a long shot.
The Crest that I do want to replicate, however, is more reminiscent of a short-neck ES-330 or, to be more conforming to normality here, the Epiphone Casino. This has its own subsets, referred to as Crest Gold or Crest Silver, for the style of the hardware, those being either gold or "brushed silver". Assuming I was mad enough to build this, I would have to either source vintage-accurate parts or get someone to make them custom.
As you can probably guess, neither sound appealing! However, ignoring that, let's get down to business. What is the Gibson Crest, in this latter format?
The Gibson Crest, in the 1969-72 styling, is a double-cutaway ES-style guitar, as you can probably guess. Now, a double-cut ES-style isn't surprising, both CMI and Norlin loved making those. The surprise comes from the features, starting with the short neck, with the join at the 15th fret. Now, normally, that's weird for an ES-style, they all have long necks, with a meeting with the body at the 19th fret. Why does this one have such a short neck?
Well, it's because it's a hollow-bodied guitar, like the ES-330 or Casino. Then again, that is no excuse, considering the ES-330 and Casino both had long necks at this time, even if the Casino returned to the short neck, dragging the 330 along with it whether it liked it or not (kinda miffed about that, I like upper fret access, taking it away on an electric guitar like the Casino is just annoying).
But anyway, the Crest has this short neck, and that's where the similarities to most ES models end. The toggle switch is placed where the first iteration of the 347 would place the coil-split switch, that being the lower horn, and that's about it for known similarities, with the other features being more reminiscent of the original Nelson Crest rather than an ES-330 or similar guitar from Gibson/Norlin.
Let's start with the pickups, which are mini-humbuckers, most certainly an interesting choice; apparently, the reason they chose P90s as the pickups for the 330 and Casino is because it was a "budget" model, and not because they were fucking cowards. That last bit's not important, though, so we can come back to it at a different time.
As with the Nelson Crest, the Crest Gold and Silver have a floating bridge akin to an archtop, though I cannot for the life of me remember if they're an ABR-1 like the original, or a pre-compensated bridge. It doesn't much matter either way, because the fact of the matter is that this guitar has some nice details to it. A 7-ply bound top, with a 3-ply bound back separated by a decorative strip, and a large heel cap which has a strap button screwed into it.
The electronics are the interesting thing. As noted above, the toggle switch was placed in the location where an ES-347's coil-split switch went, which may even be where they got the idea for that, but as is also noted above, the thing has 2 mini-humbuckers with individual volume and tone controls, and treble-side adjustment screws that go through the pickguard.
None of this is nearly as impactful as what the thing was made of, though, because I have been keeping that bit entirely shtum for surprise factor. Y'see, the Crest was made almost exclusively out of Brazilian rosewood veneer, which, for a time, was entirely phased out of Gibson as a wood option, before even becoming a protected wood by the Washington Convention. Trade in it is restricted, even now, and that means it is incredibly hard to get hold of it, even in veneer form.
Does this mean I am shit out of luck? Well, if I wanted to recreate the thing using the exact same wood, yes. If, however, I wanted to recreate the guitar with just any species in the family Dalbergia, rather than specifically Dalbergia nigra (note: that's the scientific name for Brazilian rosewood), I am not, in fact, shit out of luck, as most other species of rosewood (any wood in the family Dalbergia) is not restricted, and has not been under restriction for almost 5 years.
Here's a photo from Gary's Classic Guitars in case you were having difficulty visualising this thing:

I'll be including images like these for projects that are either replicas, or I feel need the image in some way or another.
So, the rosewood veneer isn't a problem. Why is it still a shelved project, then? Well, the fact of the matter is that we live in a capitalist society. Things cost money, both for the item itself and the labour required to produce it. In short, wood is expensive, and I don't have the money yet. You may notice that "too expensive" is a running theme, even in cases where half of the expense is the guitar itself.
To avoid getting depressing, let's move on (finally)!
Tele Bass VI:
So, you may be wondering, "why's this one shelved?"
The thing is, it wasn't intentionally shelved. It's just that I can't really do anything with it without finishing the Crusader first. I need fret wire, wood for the neck, a nut, and a truss rod. Not that many things, but it's also what I need for the Crusader, and in the case of that, I at least have the wood for the neck, and a nut, but that still leaves me without a truss rod and fret wire (which I also need for my acoustic because it's got fret sprout, but that's neither here nor there).
I was intending a maple neck for it, anyway, and I need maple for the fretboard of the Crusader. Maybe I'll be able to sort that at some point. Moving on!
Lennon Les Paul Jr.:
This one's hard to call "shelved" seeing as I've done jack shit with it for 3 months at this point. Do I want to do more with it? Yes, absolutely. It's just finding the werewithall to actually go do more with it. Part of it's been the stress of organising my college stuff, but part of it's also been laziness and just not being able to decide if I want to do it or not.
I'm sure you don't want me to bore you with this one, and you saw a photo of a replica on the previous pinned post, so I'll move on.
HĂśfner 500/1 Violin Bass Replica:
This one is very much a doozy, but it's at least sensible.
HĂśfner's been going for over 100 years, that's an accepted fact, something that makes sense to everyone. Their "peak" of iconicity, however, came in the form of Sir James Paul McCartney, who has used HĂśfner's basses since 1961. Now, since then, they've done plenty of reissues of his (two) different basses, the 1961 with its close pickups, and the 1963 with the wide, separated pickups.
So which one would I go for? That is a good question, because it's really not what I should be asking. What I should be asking in its stead is "do I want to learn Actual Violin Lutherie to make this thing", because the whole "Violin Bass" is not just a selling point, it actually is constructed like a violin. It's a chambered hollow body, like the Country Gent, but it's the size of a violin, with the construction to match, including the use of flame maple (or, to use its more apt name, fiddleback maple) for the back and sides. The top, meanwhile, is solid carved spruce.
Don't believe me about the body size? Look at this sub-model Hofner do, based on the one you can see in Get Back:

As you can see, the body is tiny in comparison to the length of the neck, especially when you compare it to an actual violin:

Look at the proportions on this, then look at the 500/1. Doesn't the neck seem so ridiculously long now? Anyway, that's gonna take some going at, and thus it's shelved for when I feel confident enough to actually do it, or at least to take a partial stab at it.
Now then, we've seen the ideas that I might get round to but aren't being done now for one reason or another. Let's look at the ones that won't be done at all, for one reason or another.
Lerxst 355 Replica:
To the average reader, that name's going to look like gibberish. To be honest, I don't blame you, the way it's pronounced feels like you're speaking gibberish as well. "Lurks-st". It sounds better if you try and put on a Canadian accent. Not full tilt Canadian, with all the "eh"-ing and being super polite, just a hint of Toronto.
Anyway, what's Lerxst? Or, more accurately, who is Lerxst? Lerxst is the nickname of Aleksandar Ĺ˝ivojinoviÄ, a man known professionally as Alex Lifeson. He was the guitarist for Rush for as long as Rush had existed, until their semi-functional retirement after the death of their drummer Neil Peart. The remaining two members, that being Alex and the bassist Geddy, have performed together since, including at the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert and at the 25th anniversary concert for South Park.
Now, Lerxst has used many a guitar over the past 50 years, from that ES-335 he used in the beginning, to the large amount of PRSes he used between 1990 and 2010. His most famous, however, is the one this one is talking about: a 1977 ES-355 built by Norlin-era Gibson. It has T-Top humbuckers (named as such due to the bobbins having a slightly raised part in the shape of a T), 22 frets on a voluted neck, a 7-ply bound top (you saw me refer to this in the Crest section; 7-ply bound top doesn't mean the top is 7 plies of veneer thick, it means the binding is 7 plies thick, and is bound around a 3-ply top of maple-poplar-maple) with a 3-ply bound back, a Maestro vibrola unit, an individual set of volume and tone controls per pickup, a simple 3-way toggle, and the key part - a varitone switch, with accompanying bypass mini-toggle for the "raw" tone unmodified by the varitone.
The output jack's also mounted to the top, but considering it's an ES model, I wouldn't think that too revolutionary. So, what's a Maestro vibrola unit when it's at home? For that, we need to explain vibrato units overall.
The history starts with Clayton "Doc" Kauffman, who devised the first ever patented vibrato system in the 1930s, fittingly named the Kauffman vibrola. This worked quite differently to vibratos that we know now, as the action of changing the pitch was much more subtle, and was done through moving the arm laterally, instead of pressing the arm down to the body. The sound was meant to mimic a slide guitar (as that's where Rickenbacker's guitars originally started), but there was an ever-so tiny but incredibly crucial detail: the tuning stability was terrible. Guitarists such as John Lennon decided to replace the Kauffman units on guitars they were installed on with other models, such as the Bigsby vibrola, the second patented vibrato unit, and the first to see widespread commercial success.
The Bigsby works in a much more conventional way, using the standard we know now: push down to lower pitch, release to return to normal. Supposedly, it has terrible stability in and of itself, but that is from players who ended up being like Floyd D. Rose, who overused the vibrato of the Bigsby, requiring that they retune. The Bigsby wasn't intended for that; instead, it was only intended to provide a slight "warble" effect to playing, what some would term a "shimmering" effect.
This, in effect, is what Gibson's vibratos were meant to provide, starting in 1961 with the Sideways vibrola. I have an opinion on these: they suck, both in function and form. They copy the function of the Kauffman nearly wholesale, and the large folded up arm in direct contact with the nitrocellulose finish(!), well. Yeah, no, not for me. The Maestro, however, looks and behaves so much better. It functions like a Bigsby would, excepting that it doesn't copy the mechanism wholesale like the Sideways does with the Kauffman.
To explain this, let's go on a small side tangent about a Bigsby vs. a Maestro vibrola, because I assure you, this is actually necessary to the guitar.
The Bigsby works by loosening tension using the leverage of the tremolo arm to cause a deepening of pitch. It's kept in place and returned to normal pitch by a spring which is compressed in the action of using the vibrato unit. The Maestro, however, uses direct leverage on a bent piece of metal to cause the same loosening of tension and lowering of pitch.
This means that the Maestro, while more primitive, is easier to work with when restringing due to the fact that the strings are threaded into the tailpiece, which is then bent, changing the angle and distance between the tuners and the ball-end of the string, thus affecting the tension. The metal returning to its standard shape (because the force required to permanently change its shape has not been applied) is what returns the guitar to standard and proper tension (as long as it's been set up correctly).
The Bigsby, meanwhile, has a specific way of threading the string through the unit before sending it down the neck to the tuner and the nut. When restringing a Bigsby, there is a massive rigamarole if you don't have a Vibramate spoiler installed. You have to thread the string down from the bridge, under the tensioning bar, then up over the string bar, around it, and slot the ball-end on the tiny little post on the underside, so it can function correctly when the arm is depressed. I honestly wish I was joking about this. I have restrung a Bigsby once, and once was all the experience I needed. Never again. I heavily advocate for people to damn well use a Vibramate spoiler on their units, even if it's just because of a personal gripe.
Back to the point where we were, about... 8 or 9 paragraphs ago, the 355 generally came stock with a Maestro vibrola in 1977, so it's no surprise that Lerxst got it on his. It's even featured on the reissues from 2008:

These are the same reissues that have a Fucked Up volute on the neck that's approximately halfway between the nut and the first fret, as opposed to in line with the nut. If I were to recreate this, I'd at least fix that.
So, it all seems possible, right? Then why is the build canned? Generally, it's the fact of the varitone, specifically the chokes. How, the literal fuck, do those things work. If I ever figure how they work, then maybe this will move from the can to the shelf. But right now? Canned. Completely and utterly.

Acoustic Rickenbacker 360/12c63:
This requires much less in the way of explaining. The Rickenbacker 360 is a famous guitar by most stretches of the imagination, soldiered on by its incarnations as the 360/12, used by George Harrison, the 370/12 used by Roger McGuinn, and the 330/12, used by innumerable amounts of famous guitarists like Peter Buck, Johnny Marr, Pete Townshend and The Edge.
But y'see, those are electric guitars. They've got magnetic pickups and all sorts of gubbins in there. My idea with this was to see if you could just... get rid of all that, construct a 360/12 in the double-bound style without that central block and all the electronics, and be left with an acoustic Ricky 12, complete with the compacted headstock and a piezo if I felt like it.
Knowing what I do about how Rickenbacker's shit is made, though, that would require making the body in the form of back, then sides, glued with bracing and then the top, with two sound holes. I'd then have to find somewhere to fit a pre-amp, and make sure that it's the usual thickness before then setting the neck in, which itself would be a 5-piece construction of maple with walnut center stripe and headstock wings, adding the truss rod(s) and the fretboard, before finally assembling the metal bits onto it.
Doesn't sound too hard, sure, but if you look at this example of what the Rickenbacker 360/12C63 looks like...

Yes, that is the entire thickness of the body. It's approximately an inch thick and not all that acoustically resonant. It'd be good as an experiment, but considering I'm debating over getting a standard acoustic 12 at some point, it's canned for that reason. Onto the last canned build, and the last build that's overall a hypothetical.
Telecaster-Shaped Red Special (TSRS):
I laid this whole thing out in a Notepad file back in May or June, as we were finishing up the Cherry XII, as a proposal of "maybe this can be the next build," but I scrapped it a month or so later because I fell into a trap I've fallen into so often it might as well be my home: I wanted to recreate a specific thing, without remembering the way that guitar is constructed, and really, what that guitar is built out of.
You see, the Red Special, built between 1963 and 1964 by Brian May and his father Harold, is a very interesting case of guitar design, in that it was designed to feedback in an appealing way. The internal cavities were actually carved out in a very specific way in order to allow for this, and most copies of the thing do the feedback, but struggle to do it exactly like his. He also has his own brand of guitars mainly made up of official replicas fitted with either a standard Strat-style trem system, that being the BMG Special, or the more accurate design mimicking the original's trem arm made of a knitting needle and a bicycle saddlebag holder.
Now, having only a Telecaster body, I couldn't recreate most of this. I mean, where am I going to put all this stuff? And the neck couldn't be slotted for 24" scale length. It just wouldn't have worked. 25", like the Harley Benton copy, maybe, but then I'd have to modify the body to allow for a 25" scale, and then rout out chambers for controls, the cavity, and the trem system's springs.
Looking back on it, I think I had a grand idea, but had bitten way too much off to just go and do it. If I ever do get it in my head to recreate the Red Special, even without a treble boost circuit or a treble boost pedal, I think I'm not going to try and start from a jump-off point, and just go at it from scratch.
Now then, we've gone through those that've been canned, let's look at the ones that aren't shelved or canned, but aren't currently in play. I denoted them as plausible above, but I might go at them at a slower rate than the Shelved builds.
Non-Specific Doubleneck:
When I say "non-specific" doubleneck, I don't mean "bland-name EDS-1275" like a Chibson or a Gear4Music or Harley Benton or anything like that.
For one, the EDS-1275 isn't the only doubleneck out there, nor is it the only doubleneck Gibson ever made. Rickenbacker made a 12/6 doubleneck 360, fittingly named the 362, as well as the 4080 doubleneck which was a bass on top and your option of a 480/6 or 480/12 on the bottom. That latter one was most famously used by Geddy Lee on Xanadu, as well as the former on A Passage to Bangkok (a song about smoking weed, if you didn't know).
Here's him with the former, in a surprising tuxedo (white with black plastics) finish:

And here's him using a Fireglo 4080/12 back in 2015 for the purpose of playing Xanadu:

Anyway, that's a Rickenbacker doubleneck, but they're not the only ones to do this stuff. Fender also make doublenecks. Well, "make" is a strong term. This is the only one I know about:

This is the craziest doubleneck I've ever seen. It's a basic 12/6, but actually No It's Not. You've got an Electric XII on top, which is the only "designed to be 12 string" guitar Fender made pre-CBS, and the Marauder on the bottom, with the vibrato merged into the pickguard, and the 5 pickup switches and the kill switch and everything that makes it the Marauder.
If I ever decide "okay, let's make a doubleneck," and then actually go through with it, I think I'm gonna take some design cues from all of these. I'll probably also chamber it so it's not uncomfortable to play for long periods of time, and just hide the chambering under the pickguards because that's a thing that could work.
Now, the other plausible idea.
Resonator Acoustic (kit build):
You know how I said kit builds were out of the question? Yeah, I didn't believe me either.
Resonators are a really cool relic of the pre-amplification era. Like, they're the step between electric guitars with magnetic pickups, and the acoustic guitars we all know, minus the piezoelectric undersaddle pickup. They work by passing the strings over a bridge mounted to a resonator cone, and when a string is plucked, strummed or otherwise makes a sound, the cone takes the vibrations and amplifies them entirely acoustically. They were originally made by a couple companies before Rickenbacker came along and invented the horseshoe pcikup and, by extension, the electric guitar.
Those companies were National String Instrument Corporation, and Dobro Manufacturing Company. The former was founded in 1927 by George Beauchamp (anyone who knows the history of Rickenbacker will know that name), and John Dopyera, a Slovak immigrant who came to America with his brothers and father in 1908, sensing that war would soon break out in Europe.
Smart move, fellas!
Anyway, Dopyera and his brothers, Rudy and Emil, soon left National to form their own comapny, Dobro. Dobro is a name with double meaning, in this case - while it's an abbreviation of Dopyera Brothers, it's also the word for "good" in a lot of Slavic languages, leading to the slogan "Dobro means good in any language!"
Due to Beauchamp's work with Rickenbacker, though, resonators fell off the radar in terms of popularity. After all, they'd figured out a form of amplification that didn't use lots of metal, so resonators ended up failing as a product. Or at least, they did for a while. Nowadays, you can find many brands producing resonators, usually for the specific tone resonators provide: rich and metallic. They're seen nowadays as bluegrass and country music instruments, but you can see people like Mark Knopfler using them for songs as well.
Now, this isn't referring to a specific kit build. I found one that's kinda an ES-style thing, with 21 frets, so that's probably the one I'd go for, not least because I like upper fret access, but it's all dependent on if I still want to build a resonator acoustic after the current build, or if I'd want to do something else entirely. It's an odd thing, my mind.
So, what now? The completed section? Eh, not exactly.
I would do a small piece on the Fretless and the Cherry XII each, I really would - God alone knows I love rambling about these builds enough, this post is testament to that on its own - but I don't need to. I made a full post about the creation of the Fretless, and made multiple posts in the course of building the Cherry XII, starting back in January and leading up to June.
But other than that? That's all there is to this post. There's nothing more I can really do in terms of explaining my ideas. I may have more ideas in between now and whenever I revisit this concept, I may reshuffle things, shelve one idea or can another. But as for everything else? It's in flux, constantly uncertain unitl we reach and observe it. I can't really say what I'll want to build after the Crusader, because I haven't finished the Crusader. Hell, I've barely started it.
Hope you enjoyed reading this. If something needs explaining further for one reason or another, tell me, and I'll try and explain it to the best of my ability.
#guitar building#lutherie#fender guitars#rickenbacker#gibson guitars#takosader's ramblings - this time into the double digits!!!#holy shit we did it#10th in the series baybeeeeeeee#anyway there's swearing in here...#somewhere i think#too many things to put in the tags so i'll hit the highlights and do the small postscripts#one - yes i'm aware that the chokes in a varitone system are capacitors and inductors#the issue's not the construction it's the values and the tones; what's the point in making a varitone if it doesn't function like it should#two - i know trogly's crest is a different variation on a normal crest#i watched his video while writing that section and clocked it because of the full hbs and the longer neck#otherwise it's exactly the same as the late '60s crest#three - if some of these feel like they came out of left field it's likely because they did#a lot of the ideas were listed on day 1 of writing this but others got added while i was writing mainly because i wanted this to be complet#comprehensiveness was another aim. yeah - as if i'll ever wring comprehensive and understandable documentation out of my head#wow this is a long post#wasn't expecting the tags to be so big either#guitar#hofner doesn't have a tag on here#but i'll put it down here for completeness

man. i dont think i like johanna tbh. between her snapping at dawn to not go crying to her over her first loss, to her saying she doesnt want dawn to talk to her over her losing the performance round because âitll be better for a friend to comfort herâ (why??? wont it feel good to be supported by a contest star who knows what shes going through?? much less HER MOM???) like if i was dawn, i would interpret that as johanna being embarrassed that her daughter keeps losing!
like i wouldnt be surprised if dawnâs confidence issues came from her, to be honest, because she doesnt exactly act like the most supportive mother (especially when dawn is partly struggling because shes in johannaâs shadow)
#i feel like it looks like i dont like this episode. i do i swear djdjdjfnfjjfjf its a good episode all around#and this isnt ââthis is bad writingââ this is me not liking johanna djdjdjd#like would it kill you to call your daughter (not her friends???) and go ââhey honey im sorry you lost but heres some constructive criticism#and im sure youll do better next time!ââ#echoed voice#dp liveblog

Top 5 Elden Ring's demigods
Argh... Could you've given me any HARDER top to make? :') No matter who I put below 5th place, I will feel like a huge prick @_@ Because they all deserve some praise, and some love. It is just incredibly good writing. Well, fine then, let's try.
Five - Morgott!
I talked about him already. The absolute tear-jerker character, a member of oppressed minority, that is defending the very corrupt system that deems people like HIM worthless.... He made me cry (/srs ) more than once upon just this sentiment. He is very realistic, and very easy to sympathise with and feel bad for. He certainly radiates a giant soft spot, though (and not JUST because he has dad bod that is completely naked under his robes, hahaha). In a weird way, he reminds me of Asg0re, a character from my other fandom - a big "monster" King who did a lot of bad things on his way, and because of his mental wound, but in the end might melt upon a simple hug or be easily convinced. It is just not what a Soulsborne game would've let us experience, but... honestly, he has not only huge muscles, but also a huge HEART. I love this combination a LOT, it pulls the richest spectrum of emotions.
Four - Malenia!
She is such a beautiful and impressive boss.... ...that I never talk about her. x) I can't quite explain how my focus works, sorry </3 She scares me a little - and it is not even her fault, but the thing that casually claimed her body, because superior deities have nothing better to do I guess :/ She is holding up very well for someone who has to live in a constant struggle with the horror plaguing her very being. And for someone having to hold up as a warrior of her dear brother's interests despite her body rotting as she goes. And having to repeat 'I am Malenia, blade of Miquella' like a mantra, since Rot is infamous to destroy the memories, and she must not forget what and who she is fighting for.
"She deserved better" is an understatement, I'd say. Her personality shines through the 'influence' that has been ruining her quite well, I'd say. She is a strong warrior, very determined, but very full of honor and love at the same time. I say this in every other post about strong Soulsborne characters, yeah. True bravery is not lack of fear but going despite fear, true power is not being callous unbreakable wall but to still hold your weapon firm through struggle and pain, true personality is what you ARE and not what you are 'not', etc etc. It is always about the feelings.
Three - Godwyn!
I could not explain why he made it to this place very well, honestly. First, he stroke my weird spider-sense intuition. I was going into Elden Ring mostly in blind, and still keep whatever I can to be revealed as I go! Thus, I did not know anything about Godwyn besides the fact that he was the golden child (metaphorically and literally) that went down as sacrifice during Night of the Black Knives as one having his soul killed. And that he used to be a lovely person. But one day, as I was playing Elden Ring and progressing casually, from nowhere, for no reason, I started to think of this character. Again, for no reason, I was thinking of the 'Deep Sea' and imagining him becoming a mermaid (?), and healing/truly dying/letting new soul grow/whatever by returning to the sea. I even started crying, and I swear, those emotions felt like they were not even mine.
It felt very random, but you can't even imagine my surprise when that same day, I just coincidentally travelled to THAT location, and found him. And, coincidentally, he was posed like this with a mermaid tail. I take weird 'intuition moments' (dreams or waking) very personally as I have many of them (and funny enough, they always have to do with the 'sea' theme). No matter how I feel about this character in the future, but the weird "foretelling", "intuition" bond fixed my attention, so yeah.
He seems like a very loveable person, though... From narration standpoint, it does make the most sense that he of all people had to suffer this way. It just would not have had the same effect if someone less likeable/innocent had to go down. It is... sad, how much of this character is his tragedy alone. But, he befriended a dragon and bridged the gap between conflicting forces, and from what I gathered losing him specifically was what broke Marika, and Mohg named his new dynasty after himself AND Godwyn. Clearly, the guy was the best thing to ever have been associated with the Golden Order, and manifesting everything good about it within his personality alone. Whenever I bash the Golden Order as inherently corrupt thing, I just always think back on Godwyn as a confirmed exception from the judgement. And, of course, he would have enough "kindness" to spread death as new form of existence... despite the fact that his 'true' self would've probably dreaded to manifest living in death of all things.
Two - Rykard
I talked about this guy since the day ONE I've picked even remote interest in Elden Ring, isn't it so? @_@ Well, I still stand by what I was talking about. Tanith is absolutely justified for being obsessed with this guy. He is like uh... Aldr1ch but executed much better, or rather, in more sympathetic light? I for one honor the narrative of a character who has the GUTS, the S P I N E to sacrifice a lot, their morals included, to just get OUT of the corrupt (!) way their world works. And I have a feeling that so does Miyazaki. x) I think it is a twisted sort of bravery that we are lucky to never experience and only perceive through fiction. But, unlike Aldr1ch, who revels in his corruption and the horrible things he has to do, Rykard, 1) has a loving family and 2) hinted to have or have had sympathetic traits and simply lost his way from.... heheh.... biting more than he could chew... xd heheh... :drum emoji because I am a comedy genius:
But, in either case, ya'll are lucky that the guy is happily married. Ya'll would not survive the intensity of my thirst otherwise. It is just my rule to not touch married characters. I still admire the guy though. Not to mention the fucking UNREAL AWESOME FUCKING DESIGN, one of the best I've seen ANYWHERE, and him having my favorite theme in entire Elden Ring. Like, it was legitimately hard to live down the crisis of him being "taken", because this guy is really loveable, both as a man and as a monster.
One - Ranni!
Honestly, I always liked the mysterious aura, the clairvoyance and the uhhh... I guess, machiavellianism of this character? "Ends justify the means" character who does some unforgivable things but believes there is no other choice, and the grander purpose is more important. But, she has so many layers. She stepped away from her mother's teachings yet still created a badass illusions to protect her and clearly loves her forever, she has trust issues but in the end needs true friends and true kindness (something even an idiot like Seluvis can see!).
You could see it hurt her to do all that, but whatever freedom could be was worth it. She is just a very complicated character, that goes above and beyond. Letting her own body be killed is badass but understandable, since her body was inextricably tied to the Golden Order, as an Empyrean. Letting her somewhat-brother who was a genuinely good and radiant and loveable person be killed? That's a bit... more drastic... And so on. Indeed, she IS like Rykard in how far she had to go, and how much she had to sacrifice, but nonetheless I uh... would not say she lost clarity of her mind like him? It is interesting how by Dante's Divine Comedy though, Herecy is associated with fire but only on 6th level, yet it is treachery that is considered to be THE sin of sins, and it is the lowest level, and associated with ice, like her element. I am thinking about this very often @_@"
-------------------------------------------
Honorable mention - Radahn!
Sorry, but I love the guy, despite lack of deep discussion (and becoming a mascot of the most toxic fans). This is ADORABLE that he learned Gravity Magic just so he could still ride Leonard. He appears to be such a goofy dumbass, wholesome person in the "wrong" way, opposing a character that is actually likeable and loyal to the things and people that arguably never deserved it?
But you know I am a huge fan of Rom Bloodb0rne, right? He gives off the exact same 'person that seizes and conceals the horrors of the cosmos from humanity, although their personality and intellect are gone' vibe. It is just... that same vibe of a "silly" character, the comic relief, that turns out to either face a tragic fate or reveals a much deeper personality. He is simple and complicated at the same time! And, well, him having been such a legendary and impressive warrior that so many people gathered just to give him honorable death. This is somewhat impressive. He was actually a very close tie with Malenia.
#elden ring#ranni the witch#rykard lord of blasphemy#godwyn the prince of death#malenia blade of miquella#morgott the grace given#starscourge radahn#ask replies#ask meme#use later#no seriously ya'll would not survive the raw cataclysm had rykard not been taken#all two of you who heard me simp for Aldr1ch thought THAT was bad? you don't know what IS 'bad'#good family though him and tanith hella deserve each other /pos#but yeah this is the hardest 'top 5' i've done yet because i can say good things about everyone#even mohg lol#it is just the magic of fuckin awesome writing skills#thanks for the ask!#lol i have mixed feelings talking about 'telepathy trips' as i call them (like with godwyn)#because i swear i can foretell what i will learn/feel few hours before it happens for SOME reason#but it is so weird that i don't know what to make out of it besides 'time is a social construct anyway' sfdhfdhfhds#at least it was not as bizarre as my dream about golden tree before I even LEARNED of ER let alone played#*X-Files music bass-boosted and deep-fried*

the problem with posting drawings on the internet is its so fun to post drawings on the internet but then people start following you because you posted drawings on the internet and then it becomes too scary to post drawings for no reason despite the fact that nothing negative has occurred. Or maybe the feeling that i need to fake my own death and go into hiding for no reason every time i post anything and repeat doing that for every individual picture is just a weird personal problem that doesn't apply or make any sense to anyone else alive That might be possible
#Umm idfk i'm shy LOL#mypost#i swear this happens constantly. i get in a mood where i'm like#''Ok THIS time i am going to be brave and post online in a normal way like i used to!!#But first I need to construct a fake identity and hope nobody ever finds me and I will do this for no reason whatsoever.''#but that's really inefficient and strange so i never go through with it and nothing changes.#So all of my posts become about how i'm too scared to post.
