have u done any tutorials on how to shade/do textures the way u do? I love ur art its such a huge inspiration 4 me :3
thank you, i'm glad you enjoy my work! tbh i don't really like shading so i basically just do like... basic shading under the neck/nose and inside the ears of characters and then make it up on some of the clothes :') but highkey i'm always trying to avoid doing it.
as for inserting textures, i always make sure all my lineart is closed up, so that i can just plop the texture behind the lineart and then ✨magic wand tool✨ the area i want to have the texture in it and just keep that.
Tumblr media
then when colouring i just hit that 'luminance to transparency' action in paint tool SAI (i imagine most other art programs have a similar tool though possibly under a different name/might involve more than one button press) and then i make sure that the transparency is locked, then i colour the texture layer.
Tumblr media
as for the textures themselves, back in the day i used to use random stuff i found on google images, these days i try to just use these ones that i made for myself, just a bunch of scribbles to add texture to characters clothes, i also use some screentones i downloaded from deviantart user botanycameos. and that's pretty much it! 🍓🌈🌟

TROUBLE USING FLASHBACK BULLETS?
im up late playing sdr2 again and ive seen this question floating around a lot, and i, too, had problems using flashback bullets in SDR2 mobile version
(below is how to use them and how to get past the second trial)
- to GET a bullet, tap and hold on the statement you want to remember (not all statements can be remembered!)
- to SHOOT a flashback bullet, tap on the statement you want to refute (REMEMBER TO SILENCE WHITE NOISE TOO!!)
in sdr2's second trial, where they are first introduced, you need to:
- hold chiaki's statement about using something other than the shower to obtain it as a bullet
- wait until the debate ends and replays
- use the bullet to refute fuyuhiko's statement
you are unable to use the flashback function on mobile, but you do not lose the bullet when the debate plays again. (i dont know if this is true for other versions of the game) you need to get the bullet and keep it until the debate plays again

Magical Everyday Objects
Originally published to www.fromthelemontrees.com on 03.15.2024
I haven't posted anything in a while and definitely not with his tag in a minute... so how about now?
I am so very fond of "do it and forget it" work and this will be half way that. There's the "do it and forget it" but with consistent application.
1. Find an object that means something to you but you absolutely use on a daily basis or extremely regularly. I will give some example objects that might be helpful.
2. Physically clean and spiritually cleanse them.
3. Give that object to your ancestors/spirits. Please ensure that these objects will not be needed for anything else or for anyone else!
4. Pray that their presence is seen, heard, felt in the best possible way and pray for whichever blessings you care to have over the chosen objects.
Through repetitive use, the object gains significance and strength in that area so that it actually becomes better over time.
Potential objects and ways of using or thinking about them:
A mirror:
* (Self) reflection: show how you view yourself, your beautiful parts and you know... the parts that needs some extra work
* Revelation: those who stand with/behind you and those who stand against you
Makeup/Skincare:
* Attraction and glamour are obvious options; typically this is thought of as accentuating or enhancing characteristics but you could cover up/hide flaws.
* Toners, serums, etc - clearing, repairing, brightening how you are perceived
* Lotions, moisturizers, etc - smooth things out, filling in gaps
Makeup and Skincare can be used for casual reputation work when you see/speak to a lot of people for whatever reason.
Perfume: Similar to makeup and skincare in some regards but definitely good for "putting on airs". Scent is also deeply linked to memory, and lingers behind long after you've left so if you want to 'stick" to someone then scent is a good option to explore.
Jewelry: opulence, looking like a million bucks
Paper, canvas, ink, paints, etc: For many people writing was not and is not the way of life. However, if your spirits performed art in some fashion, then these objects might appeal to them and they may even be able to give you and your work a boost.
Blankets: Especially ones that you sleep with or gain comfort from, you can make use of that for living in comfort, etc.
(Internal) Consumables: This is not necessarily just food or drinks, just anything you consume/process. So it could be media as well.
* Sweets (sugar, honey, candies, etc) - ensuring steady supply of things that bring sweetness/joy into your life; consistency can be whatever you want but try to be extremely regular. Please note that, depending on sweetener and your spirits, your mileage may vary.
* Teas/Tisanes - what you get out of this very much depends on the plant but if you can find something your spirits historically consumed, even better. It will bring you into further concert. Please be mindful of contraindications and medicinal interactions! Not every plant is safe for everybody!
* Tinctures - similar to tea/tisane but less overall effort than drinking a tea every day
The list could go on but I'll leave that to you!
Blessings,
From the Lemon Trees

My cousin ended up commissioning me for a digital picture and since you do art commissions professionally, are there any dimensions you recommend for a vertical drawing? Her bf doesn't want it to be toooo big and I think he has plans of printing it out to give to his parents possibly? Any size recs are appreciated cause I am just l o s t when it comes to this, thanks!
heyo!
these days, my vertical canvases are usually 1200 x 1800 pixels, which i think is probably quite non-standard, but is a habit leftover from when i had a much slower laptop and going above these dimensions would slow everything down. and often when i DO need to print things (generally if someone asks me to put a specfic piece on my redbubble, i'll enlarge it using waifu2x)
i'd actually recommend going like... A4 at 300dpi if you know before starting that you're going to be making it specfically for printing, which is 2480 x 3508 pixels 📃

Greatest piece of writing advice I can offer is to get weirdly interested in things. Become off-putting. If the person you're rambling your painstakingly esoteric knowledge to does a sort of queasy smile and looks like they want to run away, you're on the right track.
