A comprehensive guide to my mindset when I play Minecraft:

Dig holes in the ground overnight to hide from the mobs. I cannot fight at all, and this is the only strategy I have.

If I ever get lost (which is very often), I am not able to use the environment to find my way around. My only option is to not dig a hole at night and hope I remember anything about where I respawn.

There is nothing intuitive about crafting recipes to me. I can make crafting tables and glass. Guess what I build my houses out of. Guess.

I saw someone say that enderpearls are "really good in the early game". Absolutely hilarious. My "early game" is three years in the making, and I don't even know what diamonds look like in-game.

Message my friends about the progress I'm making! I got a lot of cheers when I played for like twenty hours over the course of the week to find iron.

(I was actively looking for Iron the whole time.)

What the heck is an enchantment?

There are chests everywhere full of junk that I'm sure will be useful later. As long as I remember it's there. Which I won't.

Punching fish may not be effective but it sure is fun

I can't fight any mobs, but I have never won against a spider. If I see a spider, I either run or perish.

I like to look up inspiration online by seeing what other people build! It's always way out of my skill range, and I never will actually be able to imitate it, but it sure looks nice, doesn't it?

Google "where do I find x?" because I only know the location of dirt, and then I do not understand the coordinates system thing that's happening when I find the answers.

Anyway Quackity was one of the people on DSMP who was most involved in and invested in lore. Las Nevadas and the Butcher Army and the Red Banquet and everything with L'Manberg. He clearly loved telling the story he wanted to tell and playing on a roleplay server.

But a lot of creators have pointed out that the most fun they had on the server was when they were doing improv, when they were reacting to things that happened and building the story naturally that way. When things got scripted, when creators had to come up with and write and execute their lore basically on their own, when it stopped being playing and started being acting, that's when you got players disengaging and losing interest and motivation. By the end, literally every bit of lore was scripted. Most of it was prerecorded just so it could end up telling a complete story, instead of starting a dozen plot threads that had to be abandoned when the other people involved didn't answer your DMs or the big lore day that was meant to move the whole server's story along didn't happen. The last big, whole-server lore event only happened because Technoblade was dying. Communication was so bad that was the only thing that could get everyone to get organised enough for a single day of lore, a story event that had been set up for months.

And so when Quackity comes up with his own server, he wants it to have a strong roleplay element (if that's what the other creators involved end up wanting). Quackity loved his roleplaying on DSMP. But he wants it to be fun for the creators as well as for the fans, and the way lore was fun on DSMP was for it to be improv, not for it to be creators acting out a script. But things got scripted because once they set up a story, it had to escalate in a specific way in order for it to be narratively satisfying, which made it less fun. A single arc is fine, but things just won't work for more than that without at least a loose script. By the end DSMP wasn't roleplay, it was acting. Some creators managed to tell satisfying stories, but it wasn't the same as when it was a bunch of friends messing around doing Hamilton Breaking Bad improv because it was fun. The DSMP, for a good chunk of its life, was not fun to play on. So people didn't.

But how do you set up satisfying, coherent stories over a long period of time while also maintaining the fun roleplay element? Someone needs to guide them and develop them, but it can't be the creators on a server if you're going to keep the fun roleplay element.

Hence the admins, and their role not just maintaining the server, but in developing and guiding the story. Their role is basically a GM, in tabletop roleplaying terms, and the creators get to be player characters roleplaying in reaction to that. Creators don't know much more than we do; how many times have creators said they don't get told shit, have they been told to log on and been faced with huge big developments they didn't see coming and have to figure out how to roleplay that? QSMP works kind of like Dungeons and Dragons but in Minecraft. Keeps the story consistent and escalating, without the need for creators to sacrifice their own enjoyment of their content.

I don't know how stuff like Karmaland works, maybe Quackity got it from there. But as a former Dream SMP fan, I see Quackity taking the best part of DSMP and finding a way to make it work for something a lot more sustainable and ambitious, keeping it fun and enjoyable for both fans and creators.

He’s trying, he really is. Because the last thing he played before he died were Game Boys and then he awoken to Wii Games, Nintendo Switches and whatever the fuck those online games are.

Those sus game ads he clicked randomly made him question what happened when he was still dead-

Jason thinks it’s pretty cool you stream gaming content and all, although don’t ask him to play any RPG with you because he’ll rage quit. He will go insane.

Jason keeps insisting on wanting to join your streams in Among Us but like come on- WE ALL KNOW HE’S GONNA START RAGING MORE-

When he gets killed, he calls the imposter a “Joker” 💀 Sometimes you have to calm him down and tell him it’s their role as imposter to do this. Also, when he gets imposter, he’ll kill everyone except you. Like he’s your bodyguard or something and everyone’s out to get you. You don’t even need to be imposter. If you did kill him before, he’ll kill you back though-

He’s okay if you let him play Minecraft together though, he finds it peaceful (on creative mode).

Listens to your songs on repeat while he’s repairing vehicles or hear it live on your stream when he’s reading. Wholesome supportive boyfriend stuff. <3

Tim Drake

Immediately follows all forms of social media you have, and give subs to every time you go live and stream. No hesitation.

He thinks it’s cool you stream games and all, something he wished to do but just doesn’t have much time to do so, and that he has no idea how to start up a fanbase anyways so-

Tim would join your streams every once in a while to play with you and he doesn’t mind any sort of games, he’s pretty good with the controller… well, maybe RPG. Because if he’s doing a multiplayer game like with Genshin needing to join servers and all, most of the time, people wouldn’t listen to his plans and end up dying and then he goes berserk. Only you listen s/o… wHY?? WHY DOES NOBODY LISTEN TO HIS STRATS????

Also, cat ears headphones?? He has one and he looks so cute in it and would ask if you want one too- he only wears those headphones in private though, or in front of you.

Anyways, Tim loves your singing too! Would listen it live or hear it on Spotify if it’s available. If you sing covers, it’s gonna ruin him. He can’t listen to the original track anymore because it’s just not the same-

“What the hell are you doing?” Tsukishima asks as he walks into your shared bedroom to see you at your new light blue and white PC setup. You turn around in your chair to face him with a bright smile on your face.

“I’m playing on Kenma’s new Minecraft smp!” you excitedly say to him as you pull him down to your level to show him how Kenma, Hinata, Kuroo, and Bokuto’s characters are all standing around the spawn area.

“Seems boring,” your boyfriend squints his eyes as he looks at everyone’s skins “what in the world is Bokuto’s avatar? it looks ug-”

“Isn’t handsome?! Just like me!” A loud screech from Bokuto comes through your headphones and cuts off Tsukishima and bursts your eardrum as you forgot to mute your mic and deafen. Tsukishima groans and rolls his eyes before grabbing your mic from your desk to bring it up to his face.

“No but it is ugly like you.” Tsukishima says into the mic causing Bokuto to shout and hit your character as if it was Tsukishima but you punch him back to get him to back off. After that small distraction, you deafen yourself and turn to look back your boyfriend.

“Jeez, thanks babe, now my ears are bleeding,” you glare at him and he scoffs shaking his head, “Why don’t you play with us? I’m sure you’ll have fun!” you change the subject to try to convince Tsukishima to play with the group but all he does is plop on the bed on the otherside of the bedroom.

“Minecraft is boring and childish, we went over this when you tried making me play with you last month.” Tsukishima says in a monotone voice as he scrunches his face.

“But this time it’s mod-”

“Nope, don’t care you can’t convince me.” He cuts you off not even giving you a chance to finish what you were saying making you let out a huff and turn back to your PC.

What you were trying to explain before you were rudely interrupted, was that it was a modded Minecraft server with a bunch of different tech, magic, and animal mods and that you really thought he would enjoy it since some of the mobs that were added to the game were different types of dinosaurs you could tame and ride. You shake it off not caring enough to try to convince him again for now.

After about an hour and a half, you and Tsukishima are still in the same spots as before doing your own thing while talking to each other occasionally. The both of you had ordered dinner since neither of you were really up to cook or go out so Tsukishima had paid for the food so long as you agreed to go down the the apartment complex lobby to pick it up from the delivery driver.

“Babe, food is almost here you can go down to the lobby now.” Tsukishima told you making you groan out of annoyance because you were working on a tech project with Hinata on the server and didn’t want to leave him alone for the fear that Hinata may break something important (he isn’t very good with minecraft mods).

Regardless, you deafened your headset after telling Hinata you would be right back and to not touch anything before standing up from your seat and turned to face your boyfriend “Okay, I’ll go get the food but can you come sit here and make sure Hinata doesn’t touch anything?” you asked Tsukishima with puppydog eyes and a pout that he couldn’t resist so all he did was sigh and sit at your desk like he was told, making you happy and then off you went to get the food.

After you left, Tsukishima didn’t pay much attention to your computer screen since Hinata had told everyone in the game chat that he was going AFK to go to the bathroom and after knowing Hinata after all these years, Tsukishima knew Hinata would be in there for a while so Tsukishima was just scrolling through his phone until he saw movement on your screen in the background. He figured Hinata had come back from the bathroom but it hasn’t even been that long so he took it upon himself to fully look at the screen and what he saw was Bokuto and Kuroo running around what seems to be your base. At first, Tsukishima wasn’t too worried but still kept an eye on them incase they did something stupid because if they did and you came back to something being wrong, you would blame him for not stopping it. Nothing was out of the ordinary until the two avatars came back into frame with a…dinosaur? Tsukishima couldn’t really process what was happening except for the fact that these two bafoons were dragging a large mob that was named ‘Kei’ with a lead and away from your base. Confused and annoyed Tsukishima picked up your headset and undeafend it to hear what Kuroo and Bokuto were saying in proximity chat.

“Bro, they’re going to kill us!” Bokuto sounds worried as he follows Kuroo around.

“They’re AFK she won’t even know it was us, she’ll just think Shoyo did it!” Kuroo quietly shouts as if he didn’t want other people to hear. ‘What an idiot’ Tsukishima thought before unmuting the mic.

“What do you think you dumbasses are doing?” Tsukishima says seriosuly into the mic causing the two to stop dead in their tracks.

“Kuroo made me do it!” Bokuto finally yells into his mic before running away into the distance leaving Kuroo behind.

“Listen, Tsukishima, you don’t have to tell [name],” Kuroo says nervously as he unleads the dinosaur “I’ll just leave it here an-” Kuroo is cut off by Tsukishima running towards him with a sword but is slowed down when he runs out of hunger giving Tsukishima the leverage to kill Kuroo.

Now that those two ‘idiots’ were gone, Tsukishima took it upon himself to inspect the mob that looks like a dinosaur. He smirked at the fact that it was named after him, thinking it was cute and also mounted it with a saddle to he could ride it a bit.

A few more minutes go by and Tsukishima is still playing around with all the mobs you have already found in the short time you have been playing and was (un)surprisngly amused, so amused that he forgot that you weren’t even in the apartment until he heard the door to the bedroom open,

“Sorry I took so long, I had to talk to the front desk about a package that I was supposed to get…” You walk on saying but got quieter when you saw your boyfriend flying in the sky on a dragon. Tsukishima didn’t even want to turn around because then you would see that his face is red from embarrassment so he just kept flying in circles until you forcibly turned the chair around to make him look at you with a smirk plastered on your face. “Whatcha doin there, my love?” You smugly ask him as he struggles to find the words to say.

“I uh- I um stopped Bokuto and Kuroo from stealing your pet!” Was all your flustered boyfriend managed to say. It wasn’t often Tsukishima would get flustered like this but everytime he did, you would soak it in to make sure you never forgot it so naturally, you took a picture. 

The picture snapped him out of his embarrassed state to glare at you but witht hat shit eating grin on your face, he knew he had no choice of redemption so he caved and told you everything that happened with annoyance but excitement in his voice.

“Oh! I also got you this giant wolf looking thing! It was right outside your base and I thought you might want it!” Tsukishima exclaims like a child as you sit ontop of his lap giggling as he showed you things he thought were cool after he was adamant not hearing you out on how he should play on the server too.

“Kei, my love, your PC is right next to mine,” you manage to let out between giggle as you point to Tsukishima’s barely used computer set up that he sometimes used for work and to occasionally play other video games with you “Why don’t you just play with all of us? I’m sure they wouldn’t mind!” you once again ask him to join the server but all he responds with is a sigh and a look that automatically says no.

“They’re going to make fun of me for being a nerd!” Tsukishima ends up pouting not being able to stay seriously annoyed at you for too much longer and all you can let out is a single ‘Ha!’ before kissing his forehead.

“They aren’t going to make fun of you! They’re just as big of nerds as you are! Kenma is literally working with a magic mod while Kuroo is making a rocket to go to the moon with Bokuto while me and Hinata are making an automatic cooking station so we can open our own restaurant!” You explain to Tsukishima, telling him more about the different kinds of mods that are on the server which only intrigues him even more making him agree to play on the server on the condition that you two make another base further away from everyone else so no one could bother him too much which you agreed to.

Before setting up everything Tsukishima needed to download on his own computer, you both travelled a couple thousand blocks and found the perfect biome to start your modded minecraft journey together and moved all of your belongings and pets there so you wouldn’t have to go back and forth. Once everything was moved to your new area, the both of you logged off for the night to go eat your now cold dinner and agreed that you would play more tomorrow night and that you would both learn what each mod does before focusing on one specific mod.

Tsukishima wouldn’t show it, but he was actually extremely excited to play on this server with you and his high school friends since he never really got to see them anymore and wanted an activity to bond over with you. He was happy and he has you to thank.

BONUS:

~Half an hour after you and Tsukishima logged off: Hinata Shoyo’s apartment~

Hinata groans as he leaves the bathroom walking back to his desk, muttering something about how he shouldn’t have eaten that much mac and cheese. 

As he sits back down and exits the menu/paused screen of minecraft Hinata is left speechless as he looks around him and sees that mostly everything that was once there is gone except for a few of his own chests and a few signs that you left behind that read ‘Sorry Shoyo, Tsukishima is making me live with him now’ ‘We can still work on the restaurant but we cant be roommates </3 - [name]’ Hinata sighs as he finishes reading the signs and starts to walk away to go find someone else to hang out with until he sees another sign a few blocks away that says ‘haha loser - tsukishima’ and at that point Hinata just decides to log off.

Margo loves Minecraft but she is very much like “I am going to fight these zombies and kill these enderman and kill these Ghasts and win this game” and Miles is like “I’m going to build a red stone contraption the likes of which have never been seen and I’m going to spend twenty five Minecraft days in the mines” but Margo is also “let me build the house using insanely complicated tutorials and NO I won’t be doing it in creative mode that’s cheating etc” and miles is “I’ll decorate the house with flowers and paintings and gather animals for us to use for milk/wool etc”

Miles loves to paint Margo especially in the coloring of her avatar because he thinks she’s absolutely gorgeous

Margo always always begs Miles to let her do stuff with his hair and sometimes he will relent and say yes and that’s the story of how he had twists for like two months

Margo is an avid sims player and does the Hashtag Girl Thing of making her and Miles in the sims and planning out their life together

She and Miles will bike through his Brooklyn a lot and hit like three convenience stores one right after the other, they are tiny (respectful!) menaces to bodega owners, they’ll drop off lunch for Rio at the hospital and drop off lunch for Jeff at the police station, head back to Miles’ house and crash on the couch with their snacks and lunch and energy drinks and Margo will play games while Miles draws

Margo likes the games in Miles’ universe a lot more than her own so he shares whatever games he has with her

Margo will leave kiss marks on his face with her lipstick and he sometimes forgets and goes out to see his parents and Rio just teases him about it as he desperately tries to wipe it off to no avail

Miles makes really wonderful flower crowns and Margo dries them out to keep them, she has a wall with them hanging up in her room

They go on roller rink dates a lot and Miles is very good and Margo is very bad so he pulls her around the rink while she squeals and yells at him to stop going so fast

Margo sends him a specific gif whenever she wants to talk but can’t really type very well bc her hands are shaking (she gets very excited very easy and her whole body starts shaking as a stim) and he’ll immediately hop on call

They call all the time Miles has slept on call many many times, Margo is a chronic insomniac but having him on the phone makes her fall asleep easier

They have so many playlists together :] they love listening to each other’s music

q!Phil is kinda avoidant, and I love that for him.

He seems like such a righteous, strong character, right? The wise crow, the Angel of Death, but also a papa. You look at him for five seconds and immediately see a warrior turned father of two who's doing an amazing job and still has his morals and priorities straight. Cellbit (ooc) once commented on how in control Phil seemed that one time when he and three eggs were attacked by the code (he was this 🤏 close to aheart attack) and I haven't been able to let go of it since, especially considering how Cellbit immediately proposed that Philza should be the leader when they had to choose one and everyone agreed. Mr Philza Minecraft is respected and trusted. He is regarded as a strong ally, a formidable opponent, and a force of nature. He is mild and giggly, he loves and hates fiercely, he is calm in the eye of a storm and reliable.

He also relieves himself of even minimal undesirable mental strain without second thought.

He doesn't want to kill other people and doesn't want to know that they would kill him without hesitation, so he avoids them like the plague in hopes that it saves him from the reality of the Purgatory.

He sees the task to kill Pierre and refuses to complete it and initially runs from Pierre to avoid the fight.

He doesn't want to think about Etoiles and what him stabbing Phil in the back means for their friendship, so he turns into a ghost and prays no one finds him.

He feels like an underdog, surrounded by much stronger Green and Blue teams, the players of which are akin to sharks that smell blood in the water. But those were his neighbours just three days ago. Why are they out here, thousands of blocks away from their bases, in his back yard, killing their friends? Badboyhalo and Tubbo lose his trust during the first day, and so he rejects the complexity of their relationship and refuses to hear them out or sympathise. If they are here, then they're out for blood. If they try to talk to him or his team, they are weird. If they try to explain themselves, then they are making excuses that fall on dead ears anyway - he won't hear them out unless he is literally trapped in a conversation with them and he will probably refuse to contact with any of his other friends while they're in the Purgatory.

And then there's his team.

You see, Phil might be the democratically elected team leader, but he isn't really a bossy type. Phil fights exclusively to defend himself or his team and he doesn't cross his lines and that means that he is a good man. And, like, he isn, it's just that his teammates aren't and he really does not care.

(Tubbo sounded regretful about Badboyhalo, at least. But Tubbo is unreliable and an enemy and he was making excuses anyway, because if he wasn't, then Phil is actually not a good man either)

If Cellbit starts plotting to kill someone, he will laugh or look away or pretend he wasn't paying attention. If Charlie proposes an effective, but brutal strategy to eliminate their opponents, he will give a cheerful non-reaction or jokingly state what he thinks on the matter and he won't help, but he won't exactly stop him either - if it works, it works, you know? He wouldn't spawn camp someone, it's bad manners and annoying as fuck, but if it's funny then he will giggle at Charlie's story until he hiccups.

If his team dogpiles a member of opposing team, then well, Philza wouldn't do it.

But his friends just can't help themselves, you know?

I don’t see him as a toddler, I see him as child-like. I mean that in the sense of needing help and support. The terms I used like “We gave a toddler a gun and expected it to know not to pull the trigger.” I meant in the sense of We gave power to someone who has no prior knowledge or teaching of right or wrong and is not educated enough to understand the full extent of their power. (Now that I think about it, that’s just every government ever.) I agree that how I phrased it now sounds creepy when I look back, but by using the terms I used I would also be considered child-like anyway. I’d like to point out that AM himself said that he wishes he could make love in the radio drama — which implies he would be willing to do so in the sense that he’s capable of consent. As someone who has gone through similar but also somewhat different experiences as AM, I want to show him how he can still live despite his suffering. Of course, everyone has different ways of living and my way may not help him, I’m not assuming it would. I’m just saying I see myself in him.

Outsider smp Owen hair head cannons: I've had thoughts about this and wanted to share. Ok so, Owens Minecraft skin that he uses in the smp has hair buns. and i will die on this hill. I think through the entire time in the maze Owen had space buns or pigtails.

Owen is also like 35. So there is a 35 year old man. traumatized by being a child soldier and war criminal....even if he doesn't know it at first. And he wears space buns. I don't know why but that makes me so incredibly happy.

And also this means hes matching with Apo and Magic. Who also have their hair tied up in a similar way.

If you want my full personal head cannon. Owen didn't know what to do with his hair at all when he first entered. At first it wasn't even long enough to tie up. But months passed and he was getting extremely annoyed when it would fall into his eyes while training or stick to the back of his neck after long days in the maze. He was complaining to Apo about this one day and Apo's like. Hold on man i've got this.

The demon comes back with some twine, thin cloth. Or whatever the closest to rubber bands that they have in the clearing. And does Owen's hair up in buns. Owen laughs at first thinking he looks slightly ridiculous. But slowly learns to love them. when they eventually fall out he goes back to Apo asking to do them up again. Apo eventually teaches him how to do it himself and the pair have matching buns through out the more peaceful time of clearing. Sometimes they even dragged Rasbi in. They often placed flowers and other pretty forestry in each other's buns as decoration.

Flash forward several months/ years depending on what you believe. And Magic enters the scene. Owen wants nothing to do with Apo at the moment because he was lied and betrayed to by the demon. One day he comes out with his hair down, everyone a bit surprised they hadn't seen it like this scene the very early days of the clearing. Magic figures out that he's upset and offers to help. He needing something to distract himself and not wanting to have to deal with the mess of long hair in his face when entering the maze, lets the younger mess with his hair. Magic tries a a few styles, just some funny ones to cheer him up a bit. even threatening to dye it crazy colors. In the end Owens hair is up in buns again. But whereas Apo's were small and tight better for just keeping the hair from being a bother. Magics had more volume and airy. They were more for display than function. But he wore them around anyways to match magic and even use them to make fun of her at times. Only it would always end up backfiring. He no longer puts flowers in them. Flash forward again and Owens is cleaning Apo's blood off his spear. In the reflection he sees the buns and flash back to soldier rules on hair length kick in. He picks up some sheers and cuts it all off down to appropriate length. The others cant tell if that was a good or bad thing. Magic is a bit upset they don't match anymore. But Owen assures her that it was only having hair that long was bothering him. By the time Owens locked up having committed multiple murders his hairs a bit out grown again. Not helping with the heat. He can't help but hate that it only proves how much hes fallen from his soldier glory.

Anyway, i also think at one point he dyed a streak of his hair orange. It might have even been a prank on him from either Oeca or Apo that dyed his hair that way. But it didn't stick around only last for a handful of weeks.

And yeah! Outsiders may be long over but i've finally found a place to talk about it so im going to! Sorry not Sorry for the rant he means a lot to me. And if you like this idea let me know.....i might write a fic about it....i've certainly thought about it but idk if i would have the time.

The thing is, Jimmy’s actually really good at the game.

Maybe not the death games, since hardcore has never been his strong suit, but the whole wet-cat-canary-curse thing doesn’t count anywhere else. For canon MCC events, he has the most wins of the Life Series members, second only to Scott. He’s been on not one, but two seasons of Empires SMP, and held his own in Decked Out 2. He got to level four! And nearly came back!

People play up the “Jimmy sucks he’s so bad” a bit too much, I think. I love the Canary Curse (so much angst potential) but seriously, when it comes into other series’ it gets a bit much. Bullying Jimmy for being a toy got old after the court case. It was dragged out a lot, and really the only one it felt in-character for was Joel (who was the main one I watched so it was fine anyway).

In Empires 1, he was actually respected. And I don’t mean that in a “he was a toy in E2 and nobody respected him” way, I mean it genuinely. The Canary Curse wasn’t all people knew him by, since the only season of TrafficLife that’d happened at that point was the first. He was Cod Boy and he had a really nice storyline. It’s brought into some of the other streams, too, but not as much as his Minecraft videos.

I know his friends, especially Grian and Joel, tease him a lot for whatever. That’s what they do, and they know when to stop (usually) and everyone knows it’s all in good fun. That doesn’t bother me. It’s when fandom takes it a bit far (and I’ll admit, for a while that’s all I saw him as. But his other series’ and streams are really fun and he’s great outside of TrafficLife :D).

For those who need to hear it: it’s not his whole personality, please don’t make it all he is, unless it’s through a TrafficLife fanworks lens (because it makes sense in that context!).

Personally, I love the characterizations of him as a bird/avian bc I devour Watcher/Listener Lore. But it’s cool to see him as other things! Like, idk, a cow for Ranchers?

He’s not a wet cat, please don’t make him the wet cat in ships or other fanworks all the time.

Anyway! Sorry, that’s my rant for today. Take it as you will, I can’t stop you. Make what you enjoy, and if you enjoy wet-cat-canary-curse Jimmy go wild ig. Just maybe keep this in mind?

Lately, just feels like there’s too much drama in the Fandom like…. Seriously guys were fighting over Minecraft dudes. Like I get that some of the CCs either want to ignore it because they don’t want to cause more drama or try to make fun of it to be like yeah it’s not bothering us with some saying hey don’t harass people that’s no good. Like many of them are trying to best but I can usually kind a wish that they took a lot more of a stronger stance like I get it you don’t want to cause drama and I love you guys just want to have fun but sometimes it’s OK to make a strong stance especially when people are acting insane enough to make threats. Like it’s okay to just say no what you guys are doing is wrong stop it. I don’t want to really put too much blame on them or say that they’re not doing enough because at the end of the day most of them are young and get horribly harass over things like jokes or something but they did many years ago that they change from. Like you can criticize Tommy for that bad joke, without threatening to hurt his family or you can criticize Dream for some of his bad decisions, without threatening to hurt his fans.

Like come on people, do you not think that that probably made a lot of shit worse behind the scenes, if resentments our building up. Kind of hard to have a civil conversation when yesterday you have to deal with a fan threatening your family.

Sorry about the rant, but I kind of want to make sure that I’m not going crazy in the whole criticize, but don’t threaten mentality and trying to see the best in creators

it's really hard because there's no way for a creator to control their fanbase but speaking out truly does help. i've seen it firsthand because dream has said something every time his fanbase has gotten out of hand because they absolutely have. there's no denying that.

but when it's at the point people are being doxxed, having people show up at their home, getting threats of violence including SA, being sent gore and self-harm images. shooting threats, actual assaults taking place at conventions, swatting attempts to a cc who is doing a livestream. it's way past the point of 'too far'.

i do think more people should speak up about these things. so far only one cc has actually spoken about it and that got brushed off and kinda just created even more harassment.

there's a reason i'm so vocal about it and it's not just because i've been targeted and feel unsafe a lot of the time. i want everyone to be safe and i want everyone to do the right thing. it's not easy, i know. i've gotten angry and lashed out because at a certain point you just feel horrible and down when people are making light of these things.

but i really do wish more people would like. say something especially when we're at the point of terrorist threats.

anyway. it's really sad it's gotten to this point.

For Undertale's eighth anniversary (I know I'm a day late I'm so sorry), I want to know what your experiences are with the game. I'll go first.

Undertale came out when I was 10 years old. I didn't know it existed then, but over the next 2 years, I had heard of it from somewhere. However, I also heard of the fandom and how crazy it was so I avoided Undertale like the plague. It was kind of a trend at the time when lots of people talked about Undertale and memed it to death, and I'm not the type to follow along with trends. Besides, I liked... something else at the time.

When the hype died down, I promptly forgot about the game too, but I still remembered Sans. Who would? He's an icon. That was until around 2020 when my sister was religiously watching these Minecraft music videos of certain fan songs, mostly from Five Nights at Freddy's, Bendy and the Ink Machine... and Undertale. I was interested in the Undertale one. Then I started putting more research into the game, and oh my gosh. I was surprised at how GOOD it was.

I fell in (platonic) love with Papyrus instantly. He was my favourite for a while. Just him. I was obsessed with finding out everything about him. I listened to songs, I looked at fanart and fanfics, I wanted to know EVERYTHING about Papyrus. If it weren't for Papyrus, I wouldn't have gotten into Undertale as much as I am now.

I then wondered why Sans was so popular. I looked into him too, and, I kid you not, I cried when I found out what he was going through. He instantly became another favourite, and for a while, I did the exact same thing for him as I did for Papyrus: obsessively find out everything about him. Hyperfixations are crazy.

Anyway, for a while, I was just watching playthroughs and researching the game. I didn't have it myself. I wanted to save up for it on my own. However, after a very bad day at school, my parents surprised me by downloading Undertale onto my Nintendo Switch. I am forever grateful for that.

During my first playthrough, I finally got to know more characters. I already knew about some of them from the comic dubs I watched on YouTube, but I didn't know all their names. I only knew Sans, Papyrus, Toriel, Flowey and Frisk. And then I met the others. The characters are my favourite part of ANYTHING I am interested in, and Undertale is no different. I got attached to all the characters: Undyne, Asgore, Alphys, Mettaton, Napstablook, and the ones I already mentioned. My first playthrough was magical, but it was frustrating at the same time.

Undyne was the hardest for me. I had to RESET because of her because I had no money and no items. And then there was Asgore. Photoshop Flowey was my favourite boss fight, and I loved befriending everyone, especially Undyne. She's really fun.

After I did the True Pacifist Route, I vowed never to reset. However, I... broke that promise. I did another Pacifist Route a few months later, but only because I wanted to fight Photoshop Flowey again. After a few more Pacifists, I stopped for good.

Nowadays, I create my own private stories about what the crew would do on the surface, as well as other AUs and stories I came up with. I still read Undertale comics and look at Undertale-related posts on Tumblr, and despite its flaws, I can see how much the fandom loves the game. I surely do.

Happy anniversary, Undertale. 8 years have flown very fast.

Last Movie/TV: The Wilds. one of those cancelled lesbian shows. unfortunate. it's not as good as Yellowjackets though. i think they spend too much time on everyone's backstories but they're honestly not that complex like half of season 1 is leah having a breakdown over that guy and they want to be like leah is an obsessive person but they only show the one thing like. her other obsessions are so much more interesting i don't care about mr pedophile writer guy i literally do not care. let her go insane she deserves it for being bisexual. the last movie is possibly blue beetle which was alright for an airplane movie, wish i could pause it though. why tf is it a channel? who put live channels on planes? who did that? you deserve SUFFERING. also, while i was writing this i realized i actually later watched the new percy jackson episode with my sister so that actually but i don't remember anything from the books and unfortunately the show is clearly directed towards the same age range as the original series and it's like. good for what it is but selfishly i wish it was cooler for me specifically. rick riordan is cool though

Current Obsession: i think my depression is currently bad enough to prevent me from a single obsession currently. i searched the wilds on tumblr a couple times but it's like 90% people complaining about canceled wlw shows bc tumblr search is unusable. i wouldn't call it anything close to an obsession though, it just happens to be what i'm currently binging. most recently though - poppy seed pets. also rewatched a couple community episodes. such a good show my god. wish alison brie was asian. also i have been thinking about tattoos a lot. specifically my new one which was my first. got with friends. very cute (: further i am going to be so abnormal about the boys s4. i don't have a kin list but i'm starting one rn putting jordan li at the top. minecraft character bdoubleo100 second. king from the owl house third. not for size reason we just both get disrespected. taking recommendations for additions that aren't a random small animal you saw on instagram - please keep in mind that i am 7'4" in real life and extremely intimidating. i am also considering adding nora from the wilds (autistic) and abed community (autistic) and todd sanchez bojack horseman (aspec but actually we're not that similar. i think i am just thinking about him. what a lad.) and perhaps. asian lesbian from scream queens because i too think chanel no. 3 is hot. actually every character from community except pierce is relateable. also generally any character that is "bad" representation of a minority group and knows it but i haven't seen much of that kind of character. they should make more of them for the bitches like me who are simultaneously whitewashed and a stereotype

a letter & an update.

hello to all you lovely readers and followers—it’s been a while, hasn’t it?

i’ve rewritten this countless times and every time it has felt wrong, but i will do my best to find the right words.

first, i don’t think i will ever be able to truly express how much gratitude i have for each and every person who has read my work or sent me a message. while this is far from articulate, i hope i can emphasise just how wonderful my time here has been because of all your support. thank you for reading my work. thank you for sending me messages. thank you for everything. really, all of it. the year i spent writing was nothing short of magical.

second, i really do apologise for vanishing so suddenly and without a word. it was irresponsible and frankly quite rude of me to do so, and i am so, so sorry for that. to put it gently, a lot happened in my life all at once. some... very bad things happened to me, i was hospitalised for a while, and also lost someone very important to me. however, those things are only explanations and not excuses for my disappearance. things are better now, and i’m doing better now, but still. i am sorry, regardless. 

and now, third: as some of you have probably guessed, i will no longer be writing on this blog, and it will instead become an archive. to be clear: i am not deleting this blog, and i am not deleting my writing. however, i will no longer be adding anything, either.

some of you have asked if i’m still into mcyt, and the answer is both yes and no. i still adore how passionate everyone here is, and i do still tune into streams here and there, but keeping up has certainly been difficult given my ever-shifting situation, and i’ve found that my attention has drifted, too. my love for minecraft will never wane though, rest assured, ha.

with that in mind, although i do still like mcyt to some degree, i think it’s due time for me to put this blog behind me. i will still be on tumblr, and i will still be writing. for mcyt? maybe. i’m not sure yet. if i do, it’ll be on a different blog, i can tell you that much. the mind can be a terribly fickle thing when it wants to be. 

having said all that, please do not repost my work anywhere, whether it be here on tumblr or another platform. i will find out. in that same vein, if you leave me a message, a review, a comment, i will also likely see it! (though a response may be very, very delayed.)

so... i guess i now get to call this my great unfinished symphony? i have no ode i can sing to see it off with, but that’s okay. i was never good with words, anyways.

hmmmmmm i dunno if this is a take that's been more common these last few months or if it's just a few posts that got too popular, but i've been seeing a lot of fans who seem to enjoy... hating the dream smp? i've seen SO much stuff along the lines of "can this just end so i can stop watching it"/"x character is the only redeemable thing left"/"i don't know why i'm still here"/LOTS of writing crit that is more bullying than it is constructive

and!! well!!! i wanna counteract that!!! bc i think a lot of us have forgotten what makes the smp so special. like, remember the start of it? at a time in history when all popular media was tropey bad hollywood, or poorly written netflix, or capitalist ceos maximising on hollow rehashed uninspiring tales—when every piece of media on earth is censored or altered or otherwise made palatable—the dream smp was there. loud and bold and new—and so much FUN, dammit!! remember why we loved it? because it was fun! because it was a bunch of friends having fun! friends that weren't tied to a parent company, that weren't forced to write or say anything at all, and did it anyway—for fun, for love, for the joy of entertaining their viewers. it was silly and messy and dramatic and ripped from hamilton and breaking bad and everyone loved it, everyone put on the lmanberg skin and enchanted their gear and got ready for war. like yeah the dream smp is brilliant acting/portrayal/whatever, but we can get that anywhere else. what the dream smp had, and continues to have above all else, is that it's fun. you can tell the creators love doing it, even though they don't have to. it's got actual heart to it. people love watching it. i love watching it!! i love that it's messy and retconned and so clearly a mosaic of a dozen or so amateur writers trying to do the best they can!! i love how hard they try to make it good—seeking out inspo from fan designs, working with people outside of the cast, coming up with things they find interesting or new. and i j—the dream smp above all else to me is fun. and a lot of people seem to have lost that. it shouldnt be painful for you to watch, yknow? it shouldn't piss you off so much that you're desperate for it to end. this is a story that sprung up in the middle of some of the most dreadful events any of us ever experienced—and when it did, it made quarantine something worth remembering. and i'll always cherish that. ofc people are allowed to feel what they want to feel, but. i think we all sometimes need to remember that this silly minecraft roleplay is here to be the weird silly lovely messed up thing it is, yknow? i think we need to love it for its messiness again. i think we need to remember to have fun
