I can't imagine them not working together in the future. The present is bleak in the manga, but the future is full of possibilities.

Tomura and Dabi will probably always will be the backbone of the underwolrd, but Toga is too young to not have a chance at normalcy. Not necessarily as a full on hero, but maybe free as someone who works with a hero? (Uraraka) (and lives with them in full domesticity and whatnot)

•don't ask him to help you pick a color ever. it will not end the way you want it to he will literally just pick at random, you're better off asking someone else or picking yourself

•not so secretly skilled with doing hair, he's besties with nemuri and i'm so sure he's had to help out kiri w dying his hair too!! so aizawa is the person to go to if you need help with it!! will only grumble a little but that's normal

•will covertly bitch about protecting your hair. sees you with another box of bleach too soon and just. grabs it from you. doesn't say shit. takes it and goes. gives it back to you in like a month?

Do you ever feel like the women of MHA barely matters in the story? Especially the heroes.

Short answer: yes! And this is a problem with a lot of shonen series MHA included which definitely ticks me off.

The thing is there are a lot of female characters yet nothing meaningful or strikingly iconic is done with them. In my opinion the most iconic and well written female character we have in the story is toga himiko (whose also a villain so that goes and adds a bit more to your point) and even with that her character arc is still flawed.

There's so many female characters and so much you could do with them. Class 1A has approximately 6 characters each of them can have interesting character arcs that never get developed. You also have very interesting female villains who don't get much attention compared to their male counterparts. Toga himiko the main female villain has a lot of her character time shared with ochako (which isn't like shigaraki or Dabi) and other female villains don't get much focus on like curious (I miss her) or lady nagant (she had a decent arc flawed but really good) oh and magne gets killed off before we know anything about her!

Heck horikoshi could even focus on the female parents like inko and Rei and give them their independent arcs where they find an identity and become better parents (get a redemption arc).

What about the female heroes who don't get much focus and are there to do one bad ass girl boss thing and leave instead of adding meaning to the story. This happens with star and stripes (the worst plot device character I have ever seen) or miriko. Heck it seems like horikoshi forgets a lot about midnight and she doesn't matter when it comes to the oboro plotline. In the end her death is meaningless and there for cheap tension, Mt lady doesn't get enough focus for her arc to truly hit and I honestly can't name any other female heroes.

Oh wait we have recovery girl whose actions are made a gag and not called out, or we have bubble girl who yikes (poor girl deserves better) or nejire who compared to Mirio and tamaki is an almost nothing character!!

Heck don't get me started on how horikoshi does some very questionable things with his female characters like what was that thing with toruu and drawing her naked?!?! Or having toga running around without clothes in the manga (like hello thats a child!!!) what about the endless mineta gags (its worse since horikoshi admitted to liking mineta and being a bit of a perv) heck we dont even talk about the explicit gore thats used with injured female characters like miriko.

In the end there's definitely more I have missed but gosh this is enough to show that horikoshi hasn't done a good job with the female characters (toga and lady nagant are decent) which is a shame since there was sooo much potential.

I've been reading lots of humans are space orcs, humans are space Australians, humans are deathworlders fics but ofc the MHA edition. So, here are some prompts inspired by them!!

What if space and Earth had heroes?

What if for training they send human class 1-A to train with the otherworldly hero students?? In space.

You could either have the alien hero school on a spaceship, a planet, or a moon– you pick, your decision!!

I would have Shinsou replace m*ne*a the grapist.

Quirks can exist or not either way it's fun. Though they may be a little too OP if you follow the narrative of other fics like this. Or you could have it be where the humans still struggle against opponents and do so more realistically while still being the top dog or apex predator lol

Do your aliens have abilities like quirks regardless if humans do or not??

If humans do have quirks maybe you can mix them up for fun and try to adapt their backstories and personalities to them?? Like Shinsou, having Explosion would be easy and you really wouldn't have to change anything. Bc Explosion is destructive and could be ignorantly viewed as villainous just like his original quirk is. While Jirou having Engine would change everything I'd think.

ALSO don't forget that human behavior, mannerisms, and emotions are complex and can be contradictory. Like we can laugh and smile when pissed off and cry when we're happy. Aliens or some at least may be confused by this.

Maybe class 1-B can be the aliens??? Or you can mix them up where some are the aliens and some are the humans in 1-A.

You can do a crossover and have aliens from other fandoms/franchises where they can be the aliens or you can flip it and 1-A can be the aliens.

REMEMBER (or keep in mind) that numerous certain things may be or are inherently human and earthly things. Such as particular phrases like ‘pissed off’, technology like fans, several foods, familial structures, pack bonding, art, concepts like sarcasm, inventions like movies, animals, or clothes for humans.

Reverse Human Are Space Orcs

Where an alien is either abducted by humans or crash lands on Earth. Or trafficked by evil aliens, escaping with a pod and crash landing on Earth. Either way they are saved by UA heroes and class 1-A.

They would probably also need to be a deathworlder just maybe not the same caliber as humans? I mean how else would they survive? Maybe deathworlds aren't a thing and humans are just space orcs??

The space government could allow them to stay there to train. If they train to become a hero? I would think that would be the idea lol

They could run through the plot of MHA with class 1-A.

Midoriya would love to study them and ask several questions but would also be happy to help them understand human (and Japan's) customs and culture

Again, I would have Shinsou replace m*ne*a the grapist. Or maybe Shinsou is the alien and a deathworlder who was treated horribly by other aliens who are different species and he thinks Earth will be the same until he's proven wrong??

Or maybe you can have someone else from MHA be the alien like a younger Mirko, younger Ryukyu, Toga (same story as Shin above), younger Mirio, younger Spinner (same story), or younger Magne (same story)

OH or Eri!! And maybe the Shie Hassaikai can be evil aliens?

Maybe a younger Hawks was sent to spy on and infiltrate Earth but they grow on him and he helps them instead. Maybe he's supposed to sabotage them by being able to travel space or just gather their weaknesses or both???

Maybe it's more than just one alien? A teen and an adult? Maybe Eri too?

Style of Reader Fic - First Person

I shook my head slightly, watching Remy make a fool of himself trying to impress Rogue again. Logan was trying to encourage him, a glint of feral satisfaction as Morph and Jubilee talked with Storm and Jean. I never quite understood his fascination with the southern woman, though I could admit that she was pretty.

A startled laugh escaped my chest as I watched Bakugou realize that Midoriya had beaten him today, the race to the dorms now over. Kirishima was trying not to laugh, though Denki and Mina were giggling quietly. I rolled my eyes as anger eventually overtook the blond’s face. I had homework to do before meeting with Shinso to train with the capture weapon again.

I groaned softly, turning over and feeling my breath catch in my throat, Natasha was curled up on the other hotel bed just across the room, with an arm under her head. In her arms was the stuffed animal I had gifted her the day before.

There was a sense of dread filling my head as I tried to spot any of my questmates. Percy was missing, again, and worry filled my being as I spotted Nico disappear into the shadows, looking much paler than he had that morning. A startled scream escaped me as something crashed into my side, a glance and I was relieved to see that it was just Mrs. O’Leary.

Style of Reader Fic - Second Person

You were surprised to find that Jean had waited for you instead of heading off with the other girls. Training had been strenuous today, and your back was sore and your hair a tangled mess. A flush appeared when you noticed that she was holding a brush, and was giving you a quiet smile of reassurance.

You sighed as you followed after Tony. The two of you were once again sent out despite the very obvious hate and dislike the two of you held for each other. He was listening to AC/DC on headphones and ignoring your general existence, which was fine by you. By all means he could ignore you.

You were giggling hysterically as you followed after Toga, music running through your head as you tried to decide on what ‘radio station’ you wanted to listen to for the night. You were smiling as Toga glanced back at you, excitement in her eyes. Ahead of her, just barely so, Dabi was ignoring the both of you.

You couldn’t find Annabeth, which would normally be worrisome, however you also knew that she had probably holed herself up in the Athena cabin to study for the exam she would have to take to go to New Rome. You were proud of your girlfriend, just like you knew your boyfriend was. Unfortunately, or fortunately, Percy wouldn’t be joining Annabeth for the first year of collage, instead, he was staying at camp with you to help train the flood of younger campers that had made their way to camp.

I think people tend to forget that there's two ways to see the sexualization in mha (or any show but im hyperfixated on mha) : by looking at the show from a character's pov, and by looking at the show from a reader's pov. understand, by ignoring the fact that this was written by some japanese man or not.

first case, this is just how things are, this is how the world is, no one wrote these characters and they're just people who make their own choices.

thinking about it like this, midnight or miruko's suits aren't worse than all the dudes wearing tight ass shit that shows their dick outline. kirishima being shirtless isnt less nakey than momo having her whole ass chest on display if she makes a wrong move. mirio is naked a stupidly high amount of time and shouto's clothes are at risk of getting burnt and falling off. dabi broadcasted his half naked ass in all of Japan and pulled up at a battle half naked, hawks is def as much of a hot playboy with horny fans as mount lady is a hot playgirl (??) with horny fans, and the latter's costume isn't tighter than like all might or twice's costume. toga is just wearing her uniform and the fact that she ends up naked everytime she uses her quirk isn't anyone's fault. etc etc.

now the other way of seeing this is the "right, horikoshi kohei wrote this, momo didn't decide her costume looks like that because momo is lines on paper and can't make decisions" way.

and then, it's weird. because horikoshi is a straight (as far as I'm aware) man who's also admittedly a pervert (like a lot of male mangakas so no one's surprised) and horikoshi definitely did not draw endeavors costume thinking of the same thing as when he drew mount lady's costume. horikoshi didn't think mmm thats hot when he made mirio's quirk get him naked but he did think that when he made it so hagakure is naked all the time (or at least he knew of the sexual innuendo, evidently given that One Hagakure Piece he made, + all the art of hagakure being in skimpy clothing or showing her panties bc heh. she's invisible. my point isn't to say it's bad, you can have whatever opinion you want on that, my point is that I never saw art of mirio where he's playfully naked for fanservice, it stopped to the one fight scene).

mainly the problem here (without thinking of horikoshi being weird because everyone knows that) is that a lot of fandom people try to defend horikoshi and the show using arguments from the first case and vice versa.

it always makes me think of that one youtuber (french lmao) who said that people saying some female character in one piece is sexualized is slut shaming her. no, it's not. if another character in one piece was insulting that sexy character because of what she wears or how she behaves, that would be slut shaming. your one piece woman was drawn by some dude in japan, she didn't choose to dress or act this way, a guy who thought it'd be hot did.

now that I've said all that idgaf what you think of horikoshi or the sexualization of characters in mha, what annoys me the most with it is how ugly or impractical the costumes end up being tbh.

tdlr : don't try to defend horikoshi by acting like his characters are sentient beings making their own choices. theyre characters. and the opposite is true as well, don't try to say someone's analysis of a character is wrong because theyre not thinking of horikoshi's intentions. sometimes we don't have to care about the author's intentions (especially when the author's intentions kinda suck)

I'll be doing matchups for anyone who sends in an ask. The event is open from Tuesday, 18 January, to Friday, 28 January. Depending on the number of asks I get, I might close the event early. -Izuku has been bothering Y/N since the break up. Apparantly; Lemillion beating his ass does nothing anymore. Baby girl is so excited that Katsuki is coming back to Japan. Girl cannot sit still.Endeavor is absolute trash and everyone knows it. Y/N met Momo back on her first day at UA. No one would sit next to Momo because they all thought she was snooty, so Y/N and Shinsou invited her to sit with them. She’s been spoiling them with the Yaoyozuru fortune ever since. Momo and Shoto are best friends; and she and Katsuki have known about Shoto’s crush on Y/N since high school. Momo has had a PHAT ASS crush on Rumi since she met her back at UA. Both heroes are absolute idiots though; so neither one has made a move.

-Mina is hyped for the Bakusquad to be back together again (minus Sero cause he’s off somewhere else doing hero things). Shinsou only gets up early for Y/N. It’s been that way since highschool and even now 8 years later it remains the same LMAO. Mina has no problem throwing shade at Izuku and Ochaco. They’re trash. 

-Fuyumi adores Y/N and vice versa. Y/N was the one that convinced Fuyumi to go off on her own when they met at the sports festival her first year. Fuyumi has a PHAT ASS crush on Fat Gum; but she’s too shy to say anything about it. Y/N is really bout to expose all her friends; but girl can’t realize that Katsuki and Shoto are secretly in love with her? GIRL BYE. Fuyumi posts an I hate endeavor tweet. Y/N saved Dabi’s life and that’s on PERIODT. Natsuo works in a hospital but he’s contracted to Aizawa’s Hero Agency for major injuries. He’s never actually met Katsuki; but he’s heard a lot about him from Y/N and his brother Shoto over the years. He’s been single FOREVER; so fingers crossed he’ll find his lady love. 

-Shinsou and Y/N met on their first day in the Gen ed class when he defended her from a bully. Lucky for the bully Shinsou stepped in. They’ve been besties ever since; and while Katsuki was gone, Shinsou has been keeping an eye on Y/N for him. Everyone compares Shinsou and Aizawa; it’s hilarious. Y/N and Toga met in high school when Toga was recruited by a low level street gang. During a routine job, Toga got hurt and the guys she was working with left her to die. Y/N found her in the alley and brought her back to UA for help. Toga didn’t understand why Y/N would do that for a stranger, no less a villain and Y/N showed her what it meant to trust good people. She went to juvie and served her time, being released on good behavior. She enrolled in the Gen ed class at UA in the middle of Y/N’s second year. Girl would really do anything for Y/N including crimes and murder because that’s her bad bitch.

-Everytime Mirio see’s Deku he hits him. Regardless if they’re responding to a call or just walking around in regular clothes; he hits him. Claims he’s doing Katsuki a favor; but mostly he hates him for what he did to Y/N and how he’s treated her over the years. Mirio really thinks Tamaki and Y/N are soft; but LET ME TELL YOU; it’s always the quiet ones you should watch out for. It’s LITERALLY known by everyone that Y/N is Katsuki’s “weakness” so to combat that baby girl needs to protect herself and she can. She stabbed Mirio with a butter knife when he took her last piece of Mochi during her period. Mans has learned his lesson. Tamaki works at the Fat Gum Agency on paper; but almost all his time is spent at the Aizawa Hero Agency. Fat Gum doesn’t even like working there LMAO. They never made it to the clubs, because Katsuki found out; so to compromise he ordered the most expensive bottles, expensive ass food, and treated them to a spa day and shopping to make up for it. Katsuki doesn’t like Y/N in clubs and places when he’s not there to keep an eye on their friends.

-Denki has been trying to shoot his shot since high school and has yet to succeed LMAO. 

-Kirishima and Y/N have a frienemies relationship because Kirishima thinks he’s Bakugo’s #1 Stan; but obviously that spot is reserved for Y/N LMAO. 

-The GC is fucking vicious and absolutely no holds fucking barred when it comes to calling people out for their not so subtle crushes. Y/N do be a clueless baby, she thinks they can do better as the #1 and #2 Heroes but they don’t want anyone else.

Okay so, Mirio, in canon, wears clothes that are infused with his DNA so that he can turn them intangible with him without phasing through his clothes.

So my question is why Hagakure and Momo don't wear clothes like that in canon?

Like, I get that the answer is probably "because sex sells" but uh...

They're both minors.

If they called that fact out in-universe it would be one thing, but they don't as far as I'm aware?

Oh yeah I do think it's a Problem. I already have plans for my AU and redesigning Hagakure and Momo's outfits. I might go with some in-universe stuff of the costume designers and maybe later down the line PR Teams wanting them to sex it up more. I mean all the girls would probably get that but I think those two are the extremes.

Toga would deal with this too given her Qurik and I know in Canon she doesn't have access to Hero Costumes but I will be giving her one and it will have that extra aspect to it of transforming with her.

Basic design rambles below:

With Hagakure, I need to debate on if I am changing it so that she can make the suit invisible at will or not. Logically it should be invisible 24/7 like her but she does seem to have some control over the light manipulation so I think she should be able to use the suit invisibly if they do a "make it with her hair" thing like y'all mentioned.

I think her suit itself would be pretty basic, given it would be invisible most of the time. So her costume would focus more on the accessories. Not just gloves and boots but probably a belt, maybe a headpiece. Something armored so she has some protection in direcr combat. All these accesories would be easy to take off if she wishes to go full stealth.

For Momo... I think going for a sports bra and shorts combo would be better. Still revealing but it does make sense for her Quirk. Especially as her Quirk seemes to be based in her fat cells so the fattiest parts of the body should be easy access. Which does include boobs, butt, stomach and thighs. The sports bra/shorts combo will allow stomach and thigh access easily. I think a sturdy but quickly done closure in the front of the bra would be good for if that area is needed.

Of course the less fatty parts of the body would have armor pieces to make up for the obvious vulnerability. Main thing I'm thinking of is some kind of Wonder Woman-esque gauntlets for her to shield herself with.

For Toga! I don't quite have an idea of what the costume itself would look like. But it's functionality should make sense. Canonically she can replicate clothes even though it makes no sense. I'm explaining that as like. She uses the blood as a genetic basis but can add/edit some aspects whether it be things like scars and tattoos, or things like hair dye. I think she should only be able to do the clothing thing after getting a costume tuned to her Quirk(probably through the hair thing lmao) but hm. How about it has to be organic fibers? So she could replicate cotton and leather but not metal?

Oh are we talking about costumes??? I have my own lil mini rant about costumes.

Mainly that they're. Costumes.

Like, no one but heros wear that shit. You're basically painting a huge target on your back while you're in public AND broadcasting your every move to every villain in your area. Like it's all well and good for citizens to see you "doing" your job but villains ALSO can see you. If a villain wants to commit a crime, they'll know exactly when and where the most powerful heros are.

Yes, there are situations where the costuming is useful: Eri knew Deku and Mirio were heros because they were decked out in their costumes and the above mentioned citizen morale. But even if every hero needs a costume, they shouldn't all be wearing them all the time. Even Aizawa, who is an underground hero, wears a getup that immediately outs him as a hero. Toga, Dabi, and Shig minus hands blend into the crowd (pre becoming Japan's most wanted, though I think Toga even without her quirk would still blend in just fine) because they didn't wear stupid costumes.

The point of costumes is to hide the identities of the hero--thats why All Mights costume routine worked, especially towards the end, when he could transform. But then you have heros like the Iidas or Water Hose or Endeavor who wear costumes and have a bunch of information available to the public--last names, addresses, routines (because they wear costumes all the time), oh and can't forget ALL THEIR KIDS INFORMATION. Even without the UA Sports Festival and even if the Iida, Todoroki, and Water Hose households all have water tight security, the children of at least two of the three families were not homeschooled, thus meaning they couldn't just rely on the safety of their homes. And Iidas middle school was recognizable enough that he only needed to say it's name for people to have heard of it.

It would make much more sense for heros to at least use costumes less, if not get rid of them entirely inthese cases--especially for heros who have secrets that REALLY NEED TO BE PROTECTED. And I don't mean All Might and OFA because All Might really didn't have a life outside of OFA pre-Izuku. OFA could be protected by just not talking about it. Compare to Endeavor, who's four kids and civilian wife are public knowledge. He's the number 2 hero and no one thought it would be a bad idea to let the general public know that he had a civilian family? Why are y'all so shocked that Natsuo got attacked by High End? You're telling me Endeavor NEVER prepared ANY of his children on what to do if a villain attacks them? AND THEIR EXISTENCE IS PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE?????

Sorry, that went off from costumes, but it's related to my point. Hero costumes pose a huge safety risk the way they're used in the BNHA universe, especially for heros who have dependants, even if those dependants want to be heros. And getting rid of costumes doesn't mean they have to be completely unguarded; I'm sure support departments can make clothes suitable for hero work but also inconspicuous. And like I said, there are some cases where costumes are appropriate and even necessary. Iida and Todorokis shit first costume give more disadvantages than advantage (we all laugh at Todorokis shit first costume, but they gave him a costume that LITERALLY RESTRICTED HALF HIS MOVEMENT) but Tsuyu and Ochakos costumes are actually, you know, functional (I included Ochako as someone who does need a costume because floating things and then dropping them at high speeds is dangerous and she should be wearing a helmet and protective gear). On the other end, we see Jirou and Kaminaris costumes that just look like normal clothes. Maybe a bit too fashionable to be really inconspicuous, but they do look like stuff non-heros would feasibly wear in normal everyday life.

Another example of how costumes are unsafe is that they focus way too heavily on quirks. We all know Hagakure and Momo's costumes are silly, but they also show a problem in how hero society views quirks. The only thing in mind for their costumes was "how do we maximize quirk use" without any thought to any potential disadvantages. Yeah, Momos costume lets her pull swords out of her tummy easy peasy, but it also lets other people put swords INTO her tummy easy peasy. Yeah, Hagakure is completely invisible without her gloves and shoes, but if she steps on glass, she's gonna be leaving a blood trail, defeating the whole purpose of invisibility. The idea these costume makers have is that any advantage to quirk use trumps any disadvantages, which results in costumes that, if you thought about them for five minutes, are clearly just awful.

I mean I don't know why you'd expect good parenting of Enji, of course he wanted to show off Shoto and was super neglectful of his middle two children's safety. I do think Kouta is likely homeschooled as well, considering they don't even send him to daycare when all of them are busy training students in their middle of nowhere camp. Eri, most likely to be adopted by Aizawa, is also homeschooled and even without the "end of the world as we know it" arc I expected her to continue being homeschooled once her quirk was handled. The Iida's seem to be the odd ones out, but they're also both super well trained to protect themselves and might not have attended primary school before the fancy middle school- and their costumes do cover their faces at least, though Tensei takes his off for commercials anyway. Maybe their parents were more careful of their identities when Tensei was in school, who knows. Vigs also shows that Aizawa does take off the costume to replace it with disguises when he's on undercover assignments, it's just when he's not... Well I'm not sure if he owns any other clothes to be honest. I don't even think those pink sweats are his, he just stole em.

Anyway yeah the utter lack of secret identities really does a number on the costumes and really narrows the list of like good ones down to: Mic, Snipe, Thirteen. Guess we know which teachers *aren't* the ones signing off on costumes...
