i've thought about this One Piece but if There Were Pokemon AU a lot and I wanted to share it because I'm so normal about it. Its literally just one piece if pokemon also existed in the world. This all started because I just like giving fictional characters pokemon teams sometimes because it's fun. I started giving the straw hats Pokemon teams and then I couldn't stop thinking about it. I was still reading Drum Island when this all started (I dont think I had even met Chopper yet LOL)
Most of these are a few months old at this point (w the exception of Luffy and Law that I drew today) but these are a few doodles I did of some of the straw hats with their first pokemon when they were still kids :] (I'd like to mention not all of them have a specific like "how they met" story, but I have ideas for who their first pokemon were at least)
Luffy's first pokemon was a Slowpoke that he received from Shanks. It's a Pokemon he initially thought was lame before getting gifted one.
Zoro's first pokemon was Pawniard. Pawniard are very territorial and Zoro wandered into it's territory and pissed him off. Zoro was so sour about losing so he kept finding his way back somehow out of pure spite (he would probably just wander until he found it again) and he kept fighting him over and over until he won. After he won though, they were inseperable. (Pawniard is just as bad with directions as zoro is btw)
I imagined in this AU Ohara was one of the few places that figured out how to revive fossil pokemon. Robin happened to dig up a claw fossil one day and they revived it for her. She tried to teach him how to read.
Franky initially found his Zigzagoon in the trash. He scared him away, but Zigzagoon came back and headbutted him to get back at him. (cuz he's petty) He kept coming back and it just became a game to the two of them. They quickly became besties.
Nami's first pokemon was Purrloin! Purrloin was stealing tangerines from the orchard and Nami caught her in the act. They became partners in crime.
Sanji's first Pokemon was Bounsweet. She was hungry and he fed her. She was very grateful so she stuck by his side.
Ace's first pokemon was Scorbunny
Law's first pokemon was Mareanie
I do have others ive thought about but I just havent drawn but I will still share though if you wanna read
Chopper's first pokemon was Happiny. He received it from Hiriluk.
Brook's first pokemon was Fuecoco
Jinbe's first pokemon was Poliwag
Usopp's first pokemon was Wimpod
Sabo's first pokemon was Piplup

The funniest thing about Ric Flair leaving AEW is that man FOR REAL definitely knew that his contract was for merch rights and his name value and he just decided it was a multi year talent contract and why isn't he AEW champion by now?

I am waiting for Pete to show up at the garage and be like "alright you fuckers, you better listen, so you don't ruin my carefully crafted plan to destroy Tony. This is what you gonna do." And then he gives them some instructions, 'cause honestly the guys ain't gonna get shit done by themselves.

Honestly so glad you’re into gashey because the first time I saw replacements I was like 👀 gay? And I also thought the two of them were gonna be much more important characters but then they were just Not. And no one on tumblr was talking about them so I was like oh okay :/ BUT THEY DESERVE SO MUCH JUSTICE AND YOURE AMAZING FOR GIVING IT TO THEM
it took me TOO LONG to answer this but <333. i love them and i am preparing AGGRESIVELY for gashey autumn with many a fic and edit. for such a lovely ask, might i offer a Snippet?? perhaps??

“What’s your favorite?” Les asked him, rubbing their palms together again. It sparked weak, watery feelings of warmth that he wanted to grab onto, wanted to never let go of. Tony just hummed, shaky, shifting against him to grab Les’ other hand.
“Uh.” He said, clicking his tongue against the roof of his mouth in a short, hollow sound. Les shifted, enough to press his nose to Tony’s temple in an absent attempt for warmth. “There was this… this beautiful bashkir, we had for a week. Maybe two. It was…”
He trailed off, shivering, and Les couldn’t blame him. It was impossible to think, when the cold bit at everything, regardless of whatever thin clothing they had. “Bashkir.” He murmured, thinking, and Tony huffed.
“Bashkir.” He repeated, tangling their fingers together. “You’d like them. They have curly hair, like you.”

So I’ve been watching a ton of willow cast interviews (must feed the hyper fixation) and it’s quite odd to me that Ruby and Erin never have interviews together. Erin is always with Amar (not that it’s a bad things their interviews are hilarious) and Ruby’s usually with Dempsey or Tony. I think I’ve only seen two interviews with Ruby and Erin together and they had the addition of Tony in one and then Warwick and Tony in another.
At first I thought maybe they were pairing up the characters in odd ways on purpose but then I realized there are a ton of interviews where Tony and Ellie are paired together and now I’m like hmmmm… seems a little sus Disney that you really wanted to keep the two queer women out of the same room 👀.

(PreviousAnon on Gregory and Tony)
Yeah, that's all fair enough and I'm sure they have more going on between them then just the mystery thing. I guess I just didn't think Gregory would necessarily have the patience for that or would react more negatively to that kind of treatment. But then he made up and now presumably lives full time with the woman who manipulated and tried to kill him so what do I know. :P
Also doesn't help that I'm looking at as a finite storyline with an eventual conclusion then part of something indeterminate and ongoing.
I havent talked much more in depth about it especially since I havent written anything for it so I'll drop some more for it here for better understanding
gregory was for sure pissed off when he figured it out. he wasted no time confronting tony and needed space away from him so he ignored him. he was less hurt and just more angry that he felt that way, but there were no concrete thoughts like "I'm never speaking to him again"
tony didnt really reach out immediately because he had so much to think about and when he went home had so much to cover in his head. gregory saying that made him realize that he really did feel that way and he shouldnt have and it was wrong. it made him realize he was a bad friend and that was something he had never acknowledged before. in ggy tony is an unreliable narrator and sees himself as always in the right, but this time he thinks about everything hes done in a different light and realizes a lot of it was wrong, but nobody ever really said anything. gregory was the one to call him out and give him that wakeup call, and tony didnt want to be like that anymore after realizing it wasnt fine like he thought it was
after a day or 2 tony reaches out to Gregory after a few failed attempts and Gregory agrees to talk to him (after talking to vanessa and Freddy about it), and that's when tony just kinda goes over the major wake up call Gregory confronting him gave him and how hes sorry and that he thinks he has a bit more to sort through regarding his dad (understatement)
so maybe it doesnt get resolved perfectly and Gregory doesn't 100% forgive and forget, but he understands that tony made a mistake and theres no reason to hate him if he learned from it. after that it's a lot of thinking and working for tony and he actually talks to his family and to ellis and changes his way of seeing things and it's hard to just drop all of it but hes trying because he knows it's what he needs to do. they continue being friends and eventually time heals all wounds and they become better friends because of it
