Photos at Madrid's Victory ball! 💃

We attended our first ball! It was such a dreamlike experience!! It was also our first time doing Regency reenactment so it was a challenge. We haphazardly put together some looks, had a great time learning more about the fashion and the dances and met a bunch of lovely people from all over the world. The palace was stunning, the live band was wonderful and the food delicious, it was an unforgettable night 🥰

I want to see a Billy that really leans into the wonder of the world, the million paths a child could take in their life.

And a captain marvel that says you're going to be amazing.

Billy taking the premise of captain marvels form - his ideal self, a blank slate for Billy to paint his bright colours, the person he wants to be deep inside - and dialling that freedom up to eleven.

A dancer, a dinosaur, a train conductor, a tiger, an ice cream maker, a butterfly, an astronaut, a shark, a college student, a Tamaranean, a mouse, a scuba diver, an elephant, a doctor, a moose, a race car driver, a dog.

A child wanting to see the world.

If you want to find captain marvel, well first you've got to try his comm, probably a couple times.

Then you've got to go to fawcett, hope he's there and not saving the yetis from a salamander invasion in a different dimension.

You've got to ask around, because it often goes by word of mouth here, no matter what technology you bring. Hey, you're being lied to about what fitness constitutes. If you can't work in an hour-long crossfit slog, but you can work in a five-minute walk, then that is still fitness. If you can't use your legs but you can do arm circles every now and again, that is still fitness. If you're moving around at work, that's still fitness. It can be intentional or incidental, but here's the best part: your body doesn't care if you're dedicating specific work-out times. It doesn't care if the "only" fitness it gets is your nine to five on your feet. It doesn't care, fitness is fitness is fitness. Some of us do it differently, but the end result is more or less similar.

If you can do any type of fitness safely, your body isn't going to care if you're doing it like an Olympic athlete or if you're just a casual.

Getting REAL sick and tired of how omori TikTok views sunny.

Like, they view any scene of him being emotionally vulnerable, affectionate, or even just making an expression outside of just being completely neutral as “mischaracterised”. He’s not some cool, stoic, unwavering badass, he is a traumatised teenager. Don’t cry whenever he dares to give his friend a hug or (god forbid) be SAD about something??? Isn’t like. Part of the point of his development about him allowing himself to break down the repressive walls he built when he shut himself in? And being able to rely on his real friends instead of imaginary versions? And isn’t the game like. Meant to SHOW that he still cares about them despite isolating himself?

It’s really stupid to get mad at a character like that showing emotion or affection personally, especially since he’s not used to expressing it properly after so long. But that’s just me

#this isn’t even solely about the manga though it inspired me to make this post #any piece of official art in which sunny dares to show an emotion is shunned as ooc and I’m sick of it #he only appears ‘neutral’ throughout the GAME’s narrative because he HAS NO FACE SPRITES #because he’s the protagonist and has no actual dialogue #therefore he only makes a few expressions the entire game #obviously manga sunny is a good bit more expressive than canon sunny but #it’s REALLY not as bad as TikTok is making it out to be #I’m so TIRED of this character being viewed as nothing but a rock that ONLY has personality before and the game’s events #not allows to emote at all because ‘he didn’t do that in the game!!’#because he is restricted to ONE face sprite the entire time outside of the battles #omori is a DIFFERENT case and I can admit that manga omori is a good bit more expressive than he should be but #he’s still VERY stoic especially compared to sunny #which is what is should be #sunny should be quite closed off but in contrast to omori so much more human #that’s like. a massive part of their dynamic I feel #anyway this is such a long rant but god im so angry #I’ve seen one too many people cry ‘mischaracterised’ at a teenager expressing feelings #PLEASE stop it #also this is not to say you can’t critique manga sunny’s portrayal #because there are a few issues I believe #which are honestly really hard to dance around considering the factors I mentioned before #about having one expression most of the game and two lines of dialogue the entire time #and honestly? I think some folks MAY have gotten the wrong idea about how I feel about Circe with some of my posts. So, to clear the air...

Homies, I love that fucked up sorceress.

I love how we're never given a reason why she turns people into animals. That's so funny and so awful. And another potion-making magic gal?!?! I love that she's just basically vibing on an island doing whatever she wants. I even love the fact that she scares Odysseus shitless! She's morally gray and that's why she's FUN.

I just sincerely hate when people try to girlboss her or have her be a victim of SA when she never was Looking at you, Miller. Especially when she was actually the one who coerced Odysseus in exchange for his men being transformed back into humans. And even then, while he was clearly afraid of her, (it's in the language of the Odyssey) she likely meant him no harm after a certain point. He just didn't know that.

Why does she need a reason to do awful things? Why can't she just be a goddess who does whatever she wants? That's the reason why I love her!!! She's fucked up!!! :D

I hate what the Telegony did to her as well! >:( You're telling me, this sorceress goddess, who makes potions (!!!) wouldn't have magic contraceptives??? Would WANT CHILDREN?!?! WITH THE PATHETIC WIFEMAN?! No. Fuck no. Eugammon of Cyrene, I have beef with you 🤬

#i don't really want to make a whole post about it because it was a very personal and very miserable time for me #but genuinely #the thing that got me wanting to move on again and LIVE after my life plans all fell apart last year #was sitting down and very seriously thinking about the kind of woman i want to be when i'm 70 #i hit that thing that a lot of people in their mid-twenties are hitting right now #where it feels like we've already wasted everything and not only are we failures now but we will always BE failures until we die #but right now i'm still in my twenties #and when i thought about what a good lifespan looked like to me #70-ish seems about right #and what do i want to have when i'm 70 #what skills will be useful and beyond that #what skills will be fun #i had gotten into a mindset of “too late too late”#learning to draw #or sing #or dance #or fix a car #or ride a motorcycle #they all felt like learning NOW would be pointless because *melodramatically* aLL my YoUtH HaS bEEn WaStEddd #but unless God has another plan i'm not going to die in my twenties #i'll likely live many more decades #my life probably isn't even half-way over yet #what do i want to be when i'm 70?#it doesn't matter that i don't know everything yet #i have more than four decades to work on it #that's more than the entirety of the life i've already lived #and yeah #i spent five years at a dead end job that finally drove me almost to a breakdown #but even that wasn't a waste #i saved enough to go to school and i learned a lot while i worked there

pro: ran into a coworker at a bar last night who I don’t really talk to usually (he works upstairs, I work downstairs) and we talked and im pretty sure we were highkey flirting and he bought me a drink and the bar merch shirt i was interested in and thanks to the power of alcohol i guess i asked for his number and he gladly gave it to me and. yeah

con: i have the second worst hangover i have ever had and have been fighting for my fucking life just to eat saltines

#it’s getting better but only now that it’s like. 6pm #as weird as it sounds part of why this sucks is that I volunteered to come into work today cause there’s a concert going on nearby which #usually means we’re at least somewhat busy -> make better tips #and I couldn’t go in because well. you know #I’ve been sick and dying in bed all day unable to move or eat or anything #let alone take the bus and go to work #but. as much as I wish I didn’t go this overboard I don’t totally regret last night cause.#yeah. potential thing going on with cute coworker guy. OH and potential job opportunity at my favorite bar in town #apparently said coworker Also has a job at the bar in addition to where we both work and the bar is hiring barbacks at entry-level #so I have someone to vouch for me and the bartender we were talking to seemed to really want me to apply too #one thing that’s kinda funny to me about all this is that the first two places (a bar then a club) we were at felt really mid because they #were packed with way too many straight people (at a gay bar and a gay club)#but the bar we ended up at (where we ALWAYS end up at. it is the oasis. it is the only thing I can rely on) felt. like. not overwhelmingly #straight? at all? There are multiple interpretations of text and stories. However there's also times where the text blatantly spells out what it's try to say. Or it doesn't. And you end up with a cat who maybe did sex work and I have no idea how.
