A thought for this gloomy Wednesday morning; Quintessence has different affects on people depending on tolerance level.

For some people, it's a relaxant, it makes them pliant and at ease, soothed beyond all measure, and for others, it's a painful itch, like the sting of beta-alanine in an energy drink, it hurts when you're not used to it, and some people never build up a tolerance to the pain.

Some folks can even develop a sort of allergy to it.

The buzz of that energy under their skin is overwhelming, and almost worse than the pain of an injury or the illness plaguing their bodies, some outright refuse to allow the ghouls working in the infirmary to use it on them, because they know it will only make them feel worse.

Omega's quintessence is considered the most venomlike, it burns and burns, and burns, causing fevers and nausea, but it is also the most effective in fixing the root cause.

Delta's is weaker, but ultimately more soothing, the lingering water in his system allowing for a gentler infusion, so he usually ends up treating those with a lower tolerance, but it can still be too much for some people.

Aether's is just as potent as Omega's, but causes a full body numbing effect, which is, at times, worse than the pain, so it's only used when absolutely necessary.

And then there's Aeon.

Aeon's quintessence is... wiggly. It feels like something is moving through the person's body, like someone or something is touching their insides, and feels the most unnerving.

However, it's not painful or numbing, just... weird.

It is a little difficult to gauge exactly how old she is from here but it’d definitely have to be after the Cardcaptor Sakura manga. And most likely after Clear Card in the timeline, even though that didn't exist yet. She looks a lot older - and Clear Card is only a few months after the original manga, rather than years. 

Anyway. What a way to find out that I have to make even more charts than I was already doing.

Lore rambles time!

Cinna used to live in the Outskirts, back when things were still new in the dome. Lightning ran rampant, and he was unfortunate enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Lightning struck him, and he was lucky enough to live to tell the tale.

Those remaining of his people at the time were afraid for his life and ushered him into the city. "For his safety" they proclaimed. And Solution 9 has felt like a prison since...

He's made the most of it, but he longs to roam the wilderness of Tural again. His wanderlust only compacted when the WoL and their entourage showed up from beyond the dome.

But I love how you made him feel more comfortable sleeping on the hard floor, cuz it does make you feel grounded when you're that damn traumatized. I, too understand the need for neurotic floor time, Donnie...

it's actually something he does because of the laundry room :( it grounds him and it doesnt,,, because its definitely a response to him feeling unsafe. he spent an ambiguous amount of time just laying on the cold hard floor dissociating. in the closet, too. it's a mix of that and the fear that he doesn't "deserve" soft, pleasant things, and him not even wanting to develop attachment because his room was ransacked... it's unfamiliar and sometimes just too much.

he'll go to the laundry room if its really bad, even in the new lair, but otherwise he'll just sleep on the floor of his own... and there's really no way to stop him, but it's one of the biggest reasons they regularly went to stay with him in cw, outside of the night terrors. it wasn't good on his body when he was recovering. he doesn't do it as much but there's a billion little things to overcome in his recovery that just wax and wane depending on his mindset. all they can really do is try to make it comfortable for him.

Shrignold wholeheartedly acceptd taking care of luna. he did everything in his power not to end up as a shitty father figure like malcum. Hes surprisingly good with kids too so raising luna was pretty easy. He's highky overprotective for a number of reasons but thats for me to yap about another day.

Larry was more chill with luna. He let her get away with underage drinking, driving, drinking AND driving, tax fraud, eating candy past 10pm all that stuff. But she felt comfortable going to him to talk about anything really.

since she's created in a lab, she grows up faster than others. She only stops rapid growth after she hits the adult stage of her life cycle

She has no favourite dad. she loves both equally ♥️

new hobby: every time i go to an antiques store i search for vintage lamps. this place had so many!! mostly tiffany lamps, but i also found a bunch of murano glass flower lamps and some beautiful hand-embroidered shades as well ❤️❤️❤️
