Trans History! - Alan L. Hart
It's Trans Awareness Month and Trans Awareness Week! ✨🎉
So to celebrate, let's look at some historical trans and gender-non-conforming people! Starting with Alan L. Hart, a trans man, medical pioneer and writer.
Whilst words like 'transgender' and 'non-binary' etc, have only been in the public lexicon in recent decades, the experiences and identities they represent have always existed and it's so important (and interesting!) that we look at these historic figures as proof that queer, has always been here. I have a couple more people for these posts lined up, but if you have any other historic figures you'd like me to research and illustrate, please sound off in the comments!

I dont know who needs to hear it, but there isnt a wrong way to be trans. You're allowed to transition medically if you want, you're allowed to not transition at all if you cant or dont want to. You can swap between genders, blur the lines, flat out disregard all gender, whatever you say goes. Being trans is about what makes you comfortable with how you identify and how you desire to present. No one can take that away from you.

Trans Awareness week
In honor of Transgender Awareness week and it being almost Christmas I decided to make a Christmas(ish) but subtle Transgender wallpaper :D
(This was not my original idea I found a bisexual one but I couldn't find any other like that one so I decided to try to make one & this is how it came out)

It's Transgender Awareness Week! 🏳️⚧️
Let me say this, Whether this Variant of Gwen Stacy is Trans or not, this is a headcannon but one message is very clear... "Protect Trans Youth!" 💖🫡
Also, I did the "Mood Ring" color palette from Spider-Gwen's universe for this.

This transgender awareness week, be very aware. There are many of us, and any copper pipe you leave laying around is at risk.
But worry not! Call me, the copper guard! I'll keep all of your deliciously shiny copper safe and sound from any trans person looking for cash. And I don't even charge a dime! Oh, and don't worry about the safety, I am a certified professional copper guardian, and I will definitely not eat your copper.
If you need copper stored fast and secure, just call 555-COP-EATR!

LGBTQ+ History! We'Wha
Continuing on from my last post, let's look at another gender-non-conforming historic figure in celebration of Trans Awareness Month!
We'wha was a Zuni Native American from the 19th century who gained notoriety and fame for their prolific work as a cultural ambassador and educator on Zuni culture. We'wha was lhamana, which is someone, who takes on both female and male orientated roles within their tribe as well as dressing in male and female clothing.
"The Zuni lhamana, like other Indigenous social, cultural and ceremonial roles, exist in an Indigenous matrix...[lhamana] cannot be reduced to a conventional set of gender roles or even modern transgender or genderqueer ones" - quote from Wikipedia page 'Lhamana'
It's important we celebrate other gnc identities throughout history as it helps once again, reiterate the statement that queer has always been here! Plus it's fun to learn!
