Can relationships survive if one comes out as transgender?
The survival of a marriage or relationship when one partner comes out as transgender can be a complex and individualised experience. It is important to recognise that every relationship is unique, and the outcome depends on various factors such as the individuals involved, their communication, support networks, and their willingness to navigate the challenges together. While some relationships may thrive and evolve through this process, others may face difficulties and potentially end.
When one partner comes out as transgender, it often brings significant changes and challenges to the dynamics of the relationship. The non-transgender partner may need time to process and understand their own emotions, concerns, and questions. It is crucial to foster open and honest communication to ensure both partners have the space to express their feelings, fears, and needs. Seeking the support of a therapist experienced in working with transgender issues can be beneficial in navigating these conversations.
Education and knowledge about transgender experiences and identities are vital for both partners. Understanding transgender-related terminology, the coming-out process, and the potential impact on the individual's mental health and well-being can help build empathy and create a foundation of support and acceptance.
The willingness to adapt and evolve as a couple is essential. Transitioning can involve physical, social, and emotional changes, and it is crucial for both partners to be flexible and supportive during this process. Patience, compassion, and a commitment to ongoing growth and learning are key.
The support network around the couple can also play a significant role. Family, friends, and community acceptance and understanding can provide valuable support during this challenging time. Seeking support groups or connecting with other couples who have navigated similar experiences can be beneficial.
However, it is important to acknowledge that some relationships may not survive this transition. Each partner has their own individual needs, desires, and boundaries, and it is essential to respect and honour those. If the relationship becomes unsustainable or if either partner feels their needs are not being met, separation or divorce might be considered as a viable option.
Ultimately, the survival of a marriage or relationship when one partner comes out as transgender depends on the individuals involved, their willingness to communicate, understand, and support each other. With open-mindedness, empathy, and a commitment to growth, some relationships can indeed thrive and evolve through this process.

Pls consider donation towards my friend Naomi and her transition fund. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated 💗💗💗
Gofundme reads as follows:
“Hello everyone,
I am creating this fund in hopes that I can finally begin my life. I am a Latin American transgender woman who recently got legal status in Canada. I have been living with my siblings and parents up until recently when we all got evicted due to falling behind on some bills. I have had to move out of Canada, being displaced yet again and having to once again delay my plans of transitioning which is truly extremely difficult on my mental health. I actively try to look for jobs but the pandemic has made it even more difficult for trans women to find work and my facial dysphoria on top of that makes it near impossible. My last workplace was very toxic with a lot of misgendering and transphobia from customers which brought my mental health to the lowest it’s ever been. I haven’t been able to save anything due to helping out my family and I fear I may never end up transitioning. Transitioning is very expensive and at this rate I don’t think it’ll happen for me which is why I hope I can turn to the community now..
I am hoping to raise enough to start HRT as well as cover facial feminization surgery. I will also need help with basics and rent as I will need to take time off to recover post surgery. Here is the breakdown of the costs:
$300 for Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS) Consultation Fees
$1000 for HRT Consultation/Endocrinologist Fees & ~1 year of HRT
$4000 for Travel Costs, Hotel/Lodging Fees, Food/Basics, Rent & Utilities
$18000 for FFS Procedure
This totals to $23300
Please donate even as little as $1, every little bit really does help and will be extremely appreciated!
Thank you so much for reading and I really hope that some of you may be able to help me finally being this long-awaited journey.”

You appreciate tranphobic dog whistles? Surely not
No, where do you get that nonsense from, I don't appreciate anything transphobic, I'm an easy going guy who is open to all genders.
Where are these anons crawling out of the woodwork trying to pick fights coming from, my page here is primarily a history blog, I don't intend to get into debates about things offsubject with people.

I just looked at my body fully naked and I thought it looked nice, and then when I put my big clothes back on I felt so much better about myself.
I used to be an aggressive truscum and transmed and the thing that’s like “you have to hate your body to be trans” it made me dysphoric,
I mean my body is okay but it would make me so much happier if it was more masculine, like if I had a deeper voice I’d love it and if I had a more masculine Face ID love it so much. I just wanna look like what I’m supposed to look like.
Like you can be trans and still like your body
It’s just hard for me to understand

No me gustaba verme en vestidos... No es algo necesariamente de "trans", pero si algo que "tomó mas sentido" en mi futuro.

I'm starting a new thing. There was a point in my life where i didn't wanna be alive, and I'm glad i stayed alive because if i didn't i would've missed out on so much. So (almost) everyday im posting something that I'm glad i didnt miss out on. The hashtag containing all of these posts will be called "chasingtl reasons"

I just got my pins back from @stickermule and I'm really happy with the way they turned out. Each of these has a protective plastic layer over them so they don't get scratched prior to purchase. Today I applied to become a vendor at the SLV Pride parade in August and am excited to offer these at my booth, if they accept my application. My #AFAB child, who now identifies as male, will be marching in the parade and had a big smile when I showed him the pins. So now instead of having 50 to sell, I now have 49. @slvpride #transgender #pride #pride🌈 #transpride #allyship #prideally #sanluisvalley #Alamosa #coloradoartist #Colorado #momoftransandproud #momhugs #prideparade #transgenderboy https://www.instagram.com/p/CRU7C-upSs7/?utm_medium=tumblr

Love is love, hate is hate. How about stop hating many people says. Nothing easier: start to think, start to use logic and see that love is not a matter of sexuality, gender or colour, love is love, nothing more, nothing less. #loveislove #dayagainsthomophobia #dayagainsthomophobiaandtransphobia #internationaldayagainsthomophobia #internationaldayagainsthomophobiaandtransphobia #internationaldayagainsthomophobiatransphobiaandbiphobia #againstransphobia #loveistheanswer #loveistheway #cherry #cherryblossom #cherryhill #heart #transgender #transgenderboy #imaboy #imaman #witchboy #mygarden #cherryseason #cherrylovers #heartshaped #loveislove🌈 #asexuality #asexual #prohomosexuality #probisexual #protransgender #equality #pride🌈 (presso Worldwide) https://www.instagram.com/p/CO-zD1CJnKk/?igshid=rhf0q1cmm7kw
